you're thinking wrong

I'm a bi trans guy who isn't out yet, but it's come to my attention that this straight guy at my school likes me and I think I'm starting to like him back which Really Sucks because he only sees me as a girl and has made sure to clarify with me Many Times that he is straight and now I'm worried about having to turn him down if he ever confesses to me or asks me out, this isn't the first time for this to happen either, and I just feel like dating while trans is one of the most difficult things :/

Dating while trans can be very difficult. However, that doesn’t mean that it can’t be done. Tons of trans people are in healthy and happy relationships at many stages in their transition. Some of our mods are actually in long-term, committed relationships right now.

The only thing I’ll say is that you probably shouldn’t go after a straight guy. The problem with a relationships with a straight guy (as a trans guy), is that if he’s really only attracted to girls, that means he doesn’t see you as a guy. He sees you as a girl, and not only is this incredibly disrespectful to you, it means he wouldn’t/won’t be attracted to you after you transition. You just deserve so much better than a boyfriend who won’t respect you for who you really are.

If he does ask you out, and you feel comfortable coming out, you can say, “Hey, I’m flattered that you like me, and I like you too. But I’m trans and actually a guy. I know you’ve said you’re straight, so this probably isn’t going to work out.”

If you’re not ready to come out though (and remember that if you come out to him, news might spread), you can just tell him you’re not interested, or say that you think you’d be incompatible, or something. You don’t really owe someone an explanation for turning them down, so if you want to just say “no, I don’t think it would work out.” you can do that.

As for dating in the future, you can try to meet people at a local LGBT+ group, or wait until you’re further along in your transition so that the right kinds of people (gay/bi guys and straight/bi girls) are attracted to you.

Good luck!

NO I CANT

WHEN RHYSAND REALIZES THAT THE BOY THE CARVER LOOKS LIKE TO FEYRE IS THEIR SON AND THEY LEAVE AND HE JUST QUIETLY ASKS IN THE DARK “WHAT DOES HE LOOK LIKE?”
LIKE HE CAN’T BEAR TO HOPE FOR THAT MUCH AND HE’S REALIZING HOW THERE WAS ONCE A POINT THAT HE THOUGHT FEYRE WOULD NEVER LOVE HIM AND NOW HE’S STARING DOWN THE BARREL OF A FUTURE THAT COULD NEVER HAPPEN IF THIS WAR GOES BADLY AND HE HEARS THAT THE CARVER WEARS THE FACE OF THEIR SON. HIS AND FEYRE’S AND HE JUST HAS TO CHOKE OUT THE WORDS IN THE STIFLING DARK
“WHAT DOES HE LOOK LIKE.”
AND THERE’S SO MUCH LOVE IN HER VOICE WHEN SHE, FEYRE, HIS MATE, THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND POWERFUL THING IN HIS LONG LIFE, TAKES HIS HAND AND SQUEEZES AND SMILES SOFTLY AND THERE’S THAT HOPE IN HER TOO AND JUST REPLIES
“LET ME SHOW YOU.”
AND HE SEES THE FACE OF HIS SON AND HIS HEART CRACKS OPEN WITH ALL THE LOVE AND LIFE AND HOPE WITHIN IT HE THINKS HE MIGHT COLLAPSE WITH IT.
BUT FEYRE’S THERE- SO MUCH LOVE AND LIFE AND FIRE AND STEEL HOLDING HIM UP AND WALKING THEM BOTH TOWARDS THE LIGHT
HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DEAL WITH THIS SHIT- I’M FUCKING NOT.

I was hoping that Neville would assist me with the first stage of the operation, and I am sure he will perform it admirably.”  - Remus Lupin

as far as i am concerned, this operation-speak was a slip and is canon proof that the marauders used military-speak (operation, stages, point position, code names) when they were mayhem-making.

Dex is at least 93% sure Nursey has a little bit of magic in him.

It has to be magic, the way everything looks a little brighter when Nursey’s around. The way leaves follow him wherever he goes. The way the flowers on Nursey’s windowsill bloom and grow despite the crappy weather. The way the wind always catches him just right. The way the sun finds him wherever they go. He suspects Nursey’s descended from some kind of forest fairy or something.

No one believes him, is the thing.

Nursey laughs and kisses him on the cheek whenever Dex says anything about it. Chowder calls him a lovesick goober. Bitty giggles and calls him a sweetheart.

“Honey, that’s just love,” his mom says on the phone one day.

“No - I mean, obviously I’m in love with him, but this is something else!”

“You always were a romantic,” she sighs.

He stops bringing it up to other people, because no one’s going to believe him anyway. He still asks Nursey about it, though. Half because he believes one day Nursey will break and tell him he’s part-nymph and half because Nursey always smiles so bright when Dex calls him magic.

“If I find some sort of witch in my ancestry, you’ll be the first to know, Dexy,” Nursey laughs, leaning down to pick up a flower that definitely wasn’t blooming that full before Nursey touched it.

“I don’t think you’re a witch,” Dex sighs, “I think you’re… I dunno, some forest spirit or something.”

“I don’t think forest spirits live in New York,” Nursey grins.

“Well I don’t think humans are this pretty,” Dex counters, reaching out to cup Nursey’s cheek.

“Flatterer,” Nursey says, shaking his head as he leans in for a kiss.

The kiss is short and sweet. It sends shivers up Dex’s spine and makes his blood sing.

“Yep,” he concludes when Nursey pulls back, “Definitely magic.”

Nursey’s pretty green eyes absolutely sparkle when he smiles at that.

this is just upsetting

so apparently my art has been reposted?? and i’m telling you it’s not a good feeling…

why.. why would people even do this?? can’t they empathize with the artists and think how it must feel to steal all their hard work away and just.. do this??

well apparently not. where do they even find this if not from the source???

and don’t even give me the excuse that artists should feel “flattered” because no. this is NOT a form of flattery. reblogging from the source and adding cute tags that is a form of flattery. this just makes me feel upset and there is that feeling of regret in sharing my work.

well i guess it’s time to put in that huge watermark then because i really don’t want this to happen again.

If you think Ron didn’t recite or reference Ginny’s first valentine to Harry in his best man speech at their wedding you’re wrong.
