Lance sat in a large gold beautiful canary cage. His soft purple eyes gazed out the bars. He shifted closer to the edge and held onto the cold steel.
  Loud foot steps fell, revealing a tall figure with purple skin and long silver hair.
Lance tilted his head and he fluttered his lashes, “Prince?”
Lotor flashed a small smirk, “Yes, my pretty song bird?”
“I feel.. Lonely,” the human male spoke softly, “I miss… I’m missing something.. Or someone.. Am I missing you..?”
Lotor walked close, looming over him, “Yes, you were missing me. You want company..”
Lance looked to the floor, tears pooling down, “Are you sure it is you that I am missing..? My eyes.. They have so much.. Tears.”
“Yes, yes it is. And it is I that shall wipe them away..” Lotor used two fingers to brush off the tears from Lance’s face. The galran prince lifted the human’s face gently, “You are appreciated, my dear. No need to cry.”
Lance sniffled, “I am..?”
  “Yes. Yes you are.”
Basically, Lance is put under a strong hypnosis (which makes his eyes purple) and forgets about voltron and the other paladins.
(As you know- hypnosis cannot work unless the one being hypnotized agrees to do so…)

Your hands fiddle with the lock on your door, quickly opening it to reveal a tall, familiar (and, need you say, a very handsome) figure in front of you. 


His grin lights up your bedroom almost immediately, and you feel your chest swell. “Your Highness…” you say quietly, quickly inviting him inside before checking down the hallway and then shutting your door behind him.

“Still calling me that?” he asks you. “I thought we had discussed that already, dear. No need to be calling me by such formalities.”

You nod in understanding, but protest, “a servant shouldn’t be on such terms with a prince. I know we’ve discussed that already, haven’t we, Sir?”

He raises his brows in a teasing manner, eyes twinkling with mischief. “All you have to do is call me such a thing once more and I might just leave.”

That would be the very last thing you would want – for him to leave you alone again, when it could very well be a number of months until you two would be able to meet again. 

“That’s what I thought,” he snickers cockily.

Your destination was the Zora’s Domain to visit your good friend Prince Sidon, but before you went you wanted to freshen up a bit.  There was no way you would go there presented with armpits reeking and hair dirtied. Finally building up courage, and one last survey of the area, you removed the worn clothes settling them just at the edge.

Reunited (Ahkmenrah x Reader)

A/N: This is the last chapter to my Ahkmenrah serie. (A maid for Ahkmenrah, Unexpected, Gone) Make sure to check the other writings if you haven’t read them yet. Enjoy!

Three years. It had been three years since Ahkmenrah had last seen, kissed and held his lover. Those three years without you were the most painful and agonizing years that he had experienced. There had been no second that he was not thinking about you. His mind was constantly consumed with thoughts about where you had been and if you where okay. And the baby? Was it doing fine as well? Ahkmenrah wished he would know the answers to his questions. Since your leaving, there had developed a big questioning mark in Ahkmenrah’s head. Why did you go? Why did you leave him behind?

Once the young prince found out about your absence on that day three years ago, he sent a troop of his guardians in order to search for you in the entire city. But unfortunately, they had no luck. Ahkmenrah himself went to your parents’ house, kneeling down in front of them in desperation, a prince on his knees asking them about your whereabouts. But neither your parents had an idea. They were as clueless as Ahkmenrah was. But to be honest, they had been very surprised as they found out that their daughter was secretly dating the royal man in front of them. They didn’t even expect that Ahkmenrah developed some interest in you. Your mother was crying the whole time, worry consumed the poor woman because you left without saying goodbye and without telling them where you were heading.

Ahkmenrah promised them to find you and bring you back home where you belonged. You belonged to him, staying by his side. That was what you were supposed to do. Not leaving him in deep oblivion and a broken heart.

The guardians were looking for you for weeks. There was no corner, no alley and no street they were missing. They even interrogated the people in the city, asking them if they had seen or heard anything. Ahkmenrah was so determined to find you, cost it what it wants. He wanted you back. He was pressured to do things that he was no fan of. He threatened his men not to come back to the palace if they had not found you. He had no power to see his guardians coming back with empty hands. However, the more time it took for the search, the more hopeless Ahkmenrah became. Sending letters to other cities were his last hope but even those had not brought any luck.

The young prince always locked himself in his chamber, refusing to come out. It had been his only safe heaven because in there he still felt your presence. So many memories had been made between those for walls. Secret meetings at midnight, sweet and passionate love making sessions and pillow talking afterwards until the sun would rise and you were obligated to go were something you two were doing on regular basis. Ahkmenrah showed you both sides of emotional and physical love. He loved and he cared. He never failed to show these. And he was wondering how you could just throw all of this away. The worse thing was also that you tore him away from his child. He had no chance to hold his child in his arms and admire the creature that you two have created with love. He would probably never get the opportunity because his child was now a grown three year old. Three years. He missed three years of its life.

He was not sure how he should react. One the one side he was mad, beyond mad. He could have set up the entire city in flames. His body was filled with so much rage. But on the other side he understood. You were probably too afraid and saw this as the only way to escape a punishment.

But Ahkmenrah would have done everything to protect you. Hell, he would have sacrificed himself for your well-being. He just needed this chance and you didn’t give it to him. You gave him no possibility of talking things through.


Ahkmenrah stood on his balcony, his eyes observing the life full city in front of him. Again he was thinking about you and wondered if you had come back without his knowing. Something in him told him that you were there, somewhere on the streets of Thebes. He just was not sure if he should listen to this voice. He had given up hoping a long time ago.

A knock on the glass door threw him out of his thoughtful state. As Ahkmenrah turned around, his eyes meet the gentle ones of his mother, Queen Shepseheret. The queen you had worked for. The beautiful woman joined her young son, taking a place beside him. Laying her head gently on his shoulders, she wrapped one arm around his waist. A gesture of comfort that the young prince needed. She always knew when Ahkmenrah was distracted with you again and she had provided him so much comfort in the last three years.

“How are you, my son?” She asked even though she knew the answer. She could feel the immense pain that he went through. A mother’s instinct, that was what it was.

Ahkmenrah only shrugged his shoulders. His mother sighed.

“My dear son, Ahkmenrah, it pains my heart to see you in sorrow. You’ve been hurt enough for three years, don’t you think? I miss seeing your precious smile.”

“There is nothing to smile for anymore, mother.” He mumbled.

“Of course there is! There are so many things that are worth to smile about, my son. But you don’t see them. I know you loved her dearly Ahkmenrah, but it’s been three years now. If she had loved you so much, she would have come back long time ago, don’t you think?”

“What are talking about?” Ahkmenrah growled. He was shocked and surprised that his mother would accuse you of not loving him.

“I know (Y/N) is a good girl, my dear. I liked her so much. She was always a hard worker, kind and polite. And under other conditions I would have wanted you to marry her someday. But Ahkmenrah, there are things that are probably not meant to be. Have you ever thought about that? Maybe this is a new chance for you to become happy? Maybe you and (Y/N) are not perfect together.”

“Stop it! Please stop saying those horrible words!” Ahkmenrah demanded with a croaked voice. “No matter what you’re saying mother, deep down I know we are meant to be. We have to be together. We have a child, isn’t that enough proof for you? I cannot imagine a life without her anymore. I just want her.” He stopped to take a deep breath. His chest ached terribly.

“One day she will come back to me and I’m going to marry her. I may be able to forgive what she did to me because my love for her is much stronger than anything else. Yes, I feel betrayed, she left away but… but people make mistakes. I’m sure she’s aware of what she had done. I know we’re connected to each other. Our souls are connected mother. I can feel it. She’s my soul mate and I’m not going to stop loving her until she tells me so…”

By know, the tears that were brimming his eyes ran down his soft cheeks. His mother raised her hands to put his face between them.

“Ahkmenrah…” She sniffled, overwhelmed by her own tears. “Don’t cry, my beautiful child.”

“It hurts, mother, it just hurts terribly. I’m so empty without her.” Only his lover could mend his broken heart.

And Ahkmenrah prayed to Ra, that she would appear soon.


“mwt (mother), mwt!” A little girl tugged at her mother’s arm, pointing at a certain direction. “Doll!” The girl tried to lead her mother to the stand were self made dolls were sold however the young woman stopped her.

“Not yet, my love.”She spoke gently.”Another time, is that alright for you?”

The little girl pouted with her arms crossed in front of her chest but still nodded defeated. Another child’s cry took her attention, and as she turned around she was greeted by her tiny boy who had his arms opened for her so she could take him into her arms. Right behind him the best friend of the young woman came running, her expression stressed and exhausted.

“Femi!” The best friend grumbled. “I told you not to run away like that. What if you went missing in this whole mess?”

The little boy just buried his face in the crook of his mother’s neck, indicating that he was tired.

“Monifa, could you just take care of Feme, please?” The young mother of two children, twins to be precisely, asked her best friend, gesturing to the little girl beside her. They walked through the market of Thebes, visiting different stands and looking what they could buy. They had already bought lots of food, especially for the little children. From the long journey they had back to Thebes, the children became hungry and the food they had packed before the trip began for them, had been eaten mostly by the little ones.

“It’s weird to be back.” Monifa said to the young woman.

“It is.” The other woman responded.

“It feels like an eternity since we’ve been last here and to be honest I have not missed it as much as I expected.”

The young woman laughed at her best friend’s remark. Admittedly, there had been two reasons why she returned at all. The first reason was her parents. She had missed them so dearly while she was away and at the same time she felt guilty of not telling them anything. She couldn’t wait to have them in her arms again, to hug them and to be embraced by their warmth. She needed to introduce her children to them. The second reason was the young man she still loved with her whole heart. She knew she broke him when she went away and she had no idea yet how to make it up to him. How would she react when she saw him again? What would she say? She had not thought about it to be honest.

“mwt…” The little boy in her arms whined. “Tired, mwt!”

“I know, my dear. Just hold on a little bit, alright? We’ll go home to aunt Monifa soon and then you can sleep as long as you want, okay?”

“Do you have anything you need?” Monifa inquired. “We can head back to mine if you’re finished. Seeing these delicious things you bought made me hungry and I’ll die if I don’t get something in my stomach.”

“Don’t exaggerate it.” The young mother smirked. “I’ll just go and get some grapes for the children.” She placed the little boy in Monifa’s arms, entrusting her children to her.

At the same time at the same place, prince Ahkmenrah trudged along the market, being surrounded by two guardians. It was his mother’s birthday and he went to the market to buy her a nice gift. He knew she didn’t want anything expensive, just a simple cheap thing would also please her. He was at many stands but still had not found a perfect present. He became slightly frustrated because in a few hours, a celebration would take place and Ahkmenrah couldn’t appear without anything.

He saw a stand with lots of jewelries and went straight towards it. The seller bowed down politely once he saw the young prince and after an exchange of few words, Ahkmenrah bought a beautiful necklace and bracelet for his mother.

“I hope she will like it.” Ahkmenrah sighed. All he wanted to do was turning to the palace and to get ready. It would be a long night since many other royal families would attend the celebration.

He turned around and suddenly the air got stuck in his lungs. The jewelry he held in his hands slipped between his fingers right to the ground. He must have been hallucinating, it was the only explanation for it. He opened and closed his eyes, just to make sure that he was not dreaming. And he didn’t.

She was beautiful than ever. A few meters away from him, there she stood, his lover, his life, his heart. You. You wore a pretty gown that highlighted your beauty even more. His heart pumped hard against his chest and Ahkmenrah threw his hand on his mouth to cover the sobs that escaped his throat.

“Your highness?” A guardian asked. “Are you alright?”

Ahkmenrah nodded and made his way towards you, ignoring the calls behind him. He would die if he couldn’t hold you in his arms again. A few more steps and he were right next to you. Just a few more steps.

You just gave the vendor in front of you a few coins and took the grapes from his hand as you felt another warm hand on your shoulder. Wondering who could it might be you turned around to face the person and you were shocked to see a familiar face that you had not seen in three years. His face was tearstained from crying and his eyes were red but still he looked handsome as ever.

“(Y/N),” He asked, his voice clearly trembling, “is that you? Is that really you?”

You were out of words. Totally lost of words. Not in a million years had you expected to meet him, right here, at the center of Thebes.

“Ahkmenrah?” You whispered questioningly.

“It is you!” He exclaimed, wrapping his arms around your body and pressing you hard against his chest. He clung onto you as if his life was dependent on this simple hug. “It’s you…It’s you…” He whispered all over again. Finally he could breathe again. Finally he had his love back.

He pulled slightly away, cupping you cheeks with his fingers and stroking them gently. He observed your features and all he could think about was how beautiful you were. You hadn’t changed much, you were still the young woman he had deep feelings for. His captured his lips with yours, kissing you hungrily in front all of these people.

“I missed you so much, lotus.” He breathed, resting his forehead against yours.

“I missed you, too, your highness.” You responded, laying your hands on top of his.

“Why have you left me, (Y/N)? Why did you go away?”

You were about to answer as Monifa joined you with a shocked expression on her face. She carried Femi in her arms while Feme held her hand tightly.

Once Ahkmenrah saw the little children, he fell down on his knees with more sobs escaping his mouth. You felt terrible for the state that he was in because you were too selfish. You examined your surroundings and caught people staring at the scene with bewilderment.

“Ahkmenrah…” You bent down to comfort him. “Please calm down.”

“Y-you g-gave me t-two children?” He sobbed. He eyed the two little creatures precisely. One boy and a little girl. Both made of love. Ahkmenrah couldn’t be happier in this moment.  “They a-are so b-beautiful.”

“mwt? Why is this man crying?” Femi asked his mother innocently, out of explanation why Ahkmenrah was clinging onto his mother. You gestured Monifa to come closer with the children and took each of them on the hand. Ahkmenrah was still crying but fascination was evident on his face.

“Do you remember the stories I’ve told you about a prince?”

“Yes, he was brave and strong and you said you love him.” Feme said.

“That’s right.” You smiled at them. “This is him. This is the prince I’ve been talking about. Your father. He’s your father, my loves. Do you want to say hello to him?”

They nodded their hands instantly, their face copied the same fascination from their father’s face. Ahkmenrah examined them exactly. Feme, the little girl, looked so much like you while his son Femi was the exact copy of himself. Both of them had mixture of your eye colors and their skin was tanned like their fathers.

Ahkmenrah engulfed his arms around his two children, tightly holding them. He wouldn’t give them away anymore. He wouldn’t leave them alone. He took in their sweet scent, kissing their heads all over again.

“My children…” He whispered.” We will never be parted from this day on. I promise.”

He stared up at you. “We have lots of things to talk about.” He said.

You nodded with your head. “I know.”

  But right now he didn’t want to think about it. All he wanted to do was to enjoy the moment of reuniting with his family.

A loose strand of hair falls out of your braid, and you blow it out of your face frustratedly. Since the reclamation of Erebor, you have been working in the dusty libraries with Balin, trying to restore them. You spend your days covered in dust, sneezing, and far away from your husband. The only time you see your beloved prince is when you go to your shared chambers late at night.

It’s time like these when you actually miss your perilous quest. At least you actually got to see your husband, despite the constant danger you all faced. You sigh and lean around the corner of the aisle to see Balin writing a new scroll at the desk you set up. “You said the Elvish Medicine Volume Two, correct?”

“Yes, my dear.” Balin smiles at you, and you frown. It’s not abnormal for Balin to treat you sweetly, it’s the mischievous glint in his eyes that make you slightly suspicious.

Frowning to yourself, you walk back along the aisle, looking for the volume. About three-quarters of the way down, you spot it in the fifth row-barely within your reaching distance. You raise up onto your tiptoes, stretching upwards to pull out the large volume.

You don’t even hear Kili coming.

You shriek in shock as a pair of strong arms abruptly grab your waist, and you’re spun around to face the mischievous face of your husband. 

“Kili!” you yell, swatting his arm as you try to steady your breathing. “Was that really necessary?”

His impish grin is undimmed by your scolding, as usual. He wraps your arms tighter around your waist, leaning you back into the bookshelf. He buries his face in the crook of your neck. “I miss you.”

You sigh and wrap your arms around his shoulders, allowing him to support you as he leans into you. “I miss you too.”

Kili leans back to standing and he pulls you with him, making you now lean into his chest. “Come to bed, wife. It’s nearly the midnight hour.”

You sigh and lean your head down into his chest. “I can’t. Balin and I are almost done with the library, and if we finish within the next two days, then Dale will …” You trail off into a gasp as Kili’s teeth nip at the tender skin of your neck, sending a shock of pleasure through your body. He continues to kiss you gently, and you try halfheartedly to push him away. 

“Kee, I can’t. I have to keep working. Then I’ll be yours until I get a new assignment.”

His face falls, but the expression quickly turns into something thoughtful. “Fine.” He steps back and takes hold of the end of your long braid, twirling your marriage bead around in his fingers. “As your crown prince, I order you to come to bed and spend time with me.”

The both of you hear Balin snort from a couple of aisles away, making both of you giggle. “You must go to bed too, Balin!” Kili shouts. “By order of me!”

You giggle and roll your eyes at your husband’s antics. “Alright, my prince. If I must.”

Kili grins and takes a step away from you, holding out his arm for you to take. You take it with a smile and kiss his cheek before walking with him out of the library.

Previously: As soon as Yuuri has settled into his role as Prince Victor’s personal bodyguard, his childhood friend Prince Phichit appears. Yuuri fears for his secret, as there is no doubt that his friend will be more than surprised to find Yuuri here, in the palace of the Nikiforovs.

Yuuri’s blood runs cold when he hears the crier announce the incoming royal.

“Presenting His Royal Highness, Crown Prince of the Southeast, Phichit Chulalont!”

Of all the royals that could possibly be visiting during Yuuri’s tenure here, the only one that could possibly be worse than Phichit would be Mari. He and Prince Phichit (affectionately dubbed Phichan by a three year old Yuuri) have been friends since Phichit was born, and there’s no one in the world that knows Yuuri better. They played together as children, and rode together during their many visits to each other’s respective kingdoms. They even lived together for a time, when they took a few years to travel for their schooling. In fact, it’s not uncommon (or wasn’t uncommon, Yuuri guiltily thinks) for the two of them to sleep in the same bed; they’ve been doing it since they were children. At one point Yuuri’s parents had even wondered whether the two of them should be betrothed, but they both vehemently refused. They were much better off as friends, they knew. Besides, Phichit is in love with one of his guards, which Yuuri mercilessly teases (teased) him about regularly.

Yuuri has no doubt that Phichit has been made aware of his disappearance, but he also remembers writing the boy several letters when Mari first started to pull away. He can only hope that when– not if –Phichit recognizes him, that he manages to put the two together before he exposes Yuuri.

Luckily, Victor is still not here (though he will be soon) and the Tzar is overseeing Prince Yuri’s lessons after one too many ditching attempts. For once, Yuuri is alone in the throne room.

By the time Phichit and his entourage (Seung-Gil, Leo, and Guang-Hong, all of whom Yuuri knows well) arrive in a throne room, Yuuri is kneeling, as is proper. He’s sweating from nerves, and it’s all he can do to keep his voice from shaking when he speaks in Phichit’s native language, accent near perfect from years of practice.

“I formally apologize for making you wait. His Highness will be here soon, so please, make yourself comfortable.”

He hears Phichit’s sharp intake of breath and knows he’s been found out. “On your feet, soldier. Let me see your face.”

Slowly, so slowly, Yuuri rises to face him. He can hear footsteps coming from a direction of Victor’s bedchambers, and meets Phichit’s eyes desperately. In the few seconds that it takes for Victor and Otabek to reach a throne room, the two of them reach a silent agreement, a complex conversation that’s only possible because of how well they know each other.

A wide-eyed, desperate look. I’ll explain everything, I promise.

A look of disbelief. Yuuri, is it really you?

Lowered eyes for just a second. Later. I’ll tell you everything, just please play along.

The barest hint of tears. I missed you.

Bowed head. …I missed you too, Phichan.

A hand on the shoulder. You’ll explain later?

A tiny nod. I swear.

A light squeeze on the shoulder before pulling away. Okay.

The other three pairs of eyes widen in recognition as well, but they stay silent. If their prince isn’t going to say anything, Yuuri is sure that they won’t either; those men are nothing if not loyal.

“Yuuri,” Victor whines, jumping on his back with his entire bodyweight. “I missed you!”

Yuuri can’t help but glance over at Phichit self-consciously. The boy looks amused, eyebrow raised and arms crossed. Yuuri can read him like a book, but he can’t afford to react any differently from how he normally would, or Otabek may suspect something.

He pries Victor off gently but firmly. “Victor, you’re being extremely rude. Besides, it’s been less than an hour since I saw you last.”

“An hour too long,” Victor says, kissing Yuuri’s hand dramatically. Yuuri privately agrees with him, but that’s an issue for another time, especially since Victor is just teasing. “Though I suppose you’re right. I apologize, Your Highness. Welcome back to our palace. I assume that your trip went without issue?”

“Of course.” Phichit says with a mischievous smile, glancing at Yuuri for a fraction of a second. “I’m more than glad to be back, especially now that I’m finally here. I see you’ve inducted a new member of your staff.”

Victor’s grin is blinding, and Yuuri doesn’t know how to process it. He’s noticed that Victor carries himself like a man who has known loneliness; it seems as though he’s attached to Yuuri in the same way that a child would attach itself to a blanket. “Isn’t he great? So polite and well behaved. I’m proud to call him my personal bodyguard.”

“May I ask his name?” Phichit’s eyes sparkle with concealed mirth that Yuuri is sure only he can see.

“Of course!” Victor claps his hands once in excitement; he always does seem to enjoy showing Yuuri off. “His name is Yuuri Nishigori, of Yutopia. He saved my life in the forest, so I decided to bring him here and give him a job as a reward.”

Guang-Hong laughs when he hears Yuuri’s “name,” but manages to cover it up as a cough. “Excuse me.”

Yuuri gives him a severe look. Don’t forget I know about your affair with Leo. Not, of course, that Phichit would care, but it’s nice to have some blackmail material on his friends once in a while.

“Excuse my guard, he’s laughing at my antics. I must admit to some deception, Prince Victor,” Phichit says with a small grin.

Victor raises and eyebrow in that way that Yuuri has noticed means that he’s mildly amused. “Oh?”

Phichit nods. “You see, Yuuri and I have already met.”

Oh no, Phichit please no. Yuuri’s grip on the hilt of his sword anxiously.

“It’s a story quite similar to yours, actually.” Phichit smiles at Yuuri. I’ve got this. “I was travelling the continent for school a few years ago, and I wandered from the caravan of boredom. I found a view I particularly liked and wandered too close to the edge of a cliff. Your guard saved my life.”

Yuuri remembers that day, actually. Phichit had scared the life out of him, wandering off like that.

“Phichan, why would you go so close to the edge? You could have died!” Yuuri could feel his heartbeat in his throat. “If I’d lost you…”

Phichit was shaking, his usual grin far from his face. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”

“In fact, we became friends soon after.” Well, that’s a bold-faced lie, but Yuuri can’t expect anything different if he wants to keep his secret safe.

Victor looks at Yuuri with wide eyes. “Wow! My Yuuri is so amazing, why didn’t you tell me that you knew another royal?”

I know several, actually. Phichit just happens to be the one that’s here. “It, uh, it never came up, I suppose.”

“You were named for the missing prince, right Yuuri?” Phichit cuts in.

When Yuuri nods, Victor looks confused. “What do you mean, missing prince?”

“Ah, I forget how cut off this country is from its neighbors,” Phichit says, looking apologetic and slightly sad. The sadness, Yuuri can tell, is entirely real. He feels a sharp twinge of guilt about causing it. “Yutopia’s prince, Yuuri Katsuki, went missing several months past. He’s a very dear friend of mine.”

There’s a short period of silence, where Yuuri is sure that Victor is trying to find the appropriate words to respond to a revelation like this.

“Victor, if I may make a suggestion,” Otabek says, startling them all. “Pardon my intrusion into your conversation, but perhaps, for the duration of the prince’s stay, Nishigori should stay with his company. It may make the prince more comfortable, and I am willing to take over for him for and few days.”

Yuuri blinks. Otabek has just opened a way for him to spend time with Phichit and explain himself, without even knowing what he was doing.

He’s sure that Victor is about to protest, but there’s a distinct moment when any protests die. The look of absolute gratitude on Phichit’s face could melt a heart of stone.

“I… I suppose… that would be fine,” Victor manages. His hesitation confuses Yuuri, but the confusion is overpowered by something else.

He only vaguely notices the glances Victor keeps sneaking at him for the rest of the night, and he doesn’t think about what they mean. He’s going to miss spending time with Victor one on one, but it’s only for a few days. Besides, Phichit is going to be spending a lot of time in a presence of the royal family anyway, so things won’t be so different.

As soon as the two of them close the door to Phichit’s bedchamber later that night, Yuuri finds himself being tackled on all sides by four overexcited men. Leo, Guang-Hong, and Seung-Gil look skeptical when Yuuri explains his reasons for vanishing, but Phichit– Phichan, who knows how Yuuri’s mind works, who knows everything about him –nods and understands. He swears to keep the secret, as long as Yuuri promises in turn to be home in time for his sister’s coronation.

People always asked you where you hailed from, because of your unique features. Your mother was Lady Allyrion of Dorne, and your father was Lord Buckler of the Stormlands. You weren’t sure how exactly your family came to be, all you knew is that you were technically royalty. Since you lived in Dorne your whole life, you kept your mother’s surname. You were Lady Y/N Allyrion of Godsgrace, Dorne. You had the dark hair and olive skin of the Dornish, but the light eyes and the petite build of those from the Stormlands. You also had a streak of silver hair that began towards the front of your head near your part and was visible no matter how your hair was done.

You were en route to Kings Landing to attend the royal wedding with your septa and your guards in tow. This would be your first time to Kings Landing, and you were sure you would get countless questions about your heritage because you didn’t look Dornish or Westerosi, you looked like an incredible mixture of the two. On occasion people even thought you were from Essos or Meereen or even Braavos, simply because they couldn’t place your distinct combination of features.

“Lady Y/N” your septa snapped you from your deep thoughts to tell you that you were coming up on the gates of Kings Landing. It was a beautiful place, with it’s long, slender streets and alleyways and the castle was something that could only be described as immense. It was easily three times the size of your castle in Godsgrace and the spires looked like they touched the sky.

Walking up to the large, wooden doors of the castle, your guards introduced you to the two men of the Kingsguard who were in front of the door. Upon hearing your name, they opened the doors and stepped aside so you could walk in. You would never get tired of the sound of your shoes clicking across the stone floor in the large, empty hallway of the castle. The way the ceiling was arched and the size of the windows made every footstep sound like a symphony. More men of the Kingsguard led you through the Red Keep to a large hall where the royalty and many of their guests were sitting and talking. It was a large meeting to introduce the King and future Queen as well as inform everyone of the events of the next week that will be occurring. Weddings were a big deal in the Faith of the Seven, highly ritualized and generally made a large affair. Especially the royal wedding.

The hand of the King, a man named Jaime Lannister, came to greet you at the door.
“Lady Y/N” he bent slightly to pull your hand into his and kiss your knuckles. Apparently this was custom in the Crownlands because he was the third man to treat you this way. Greetings were much more physical in Dorne, with hugs and kisses on both cheeks being normal.
“Ser Jaime” you curtsied, smiling at him. He was a handsome man, tall in stature with the signature blonde Lannister hair and a jawline that could cut stone. You had heard much about his skills as a fighter and could tell by his build that he was muscular, but lean, and very active.

Jaime brought you over to his family to meet everyone.
“Lady Y/N, this is my sister Cersei, who is Queen regent” he gestured to a beautiful woman who would be even more so if she didn’t have a perpetual scowl on her face.
“This is my nephew, King Joffrey” he gestured to a boy who could nearly be twins with his mother, matching scowl and all.
“Your grace” you curtsied, smiling at him.
“You did not tell me Lady Allyrion was so beautiful, uncle” Joffrey said while waving a hand around, talking to Jaime but his eyes never leaving you. You blushed and immediately curtsied again, the King had just called you beautiful,
“Thank you, your grace” you smiled and he smiled back. The boy wasn’t so bad when he didn’t look angry, but you’d heard from many people that he had quite the temper and was a bit of brat. But honestly what more can you expect from a boy who grew up as rich as the Lannisters, was spoiled to death by his mother, and King at such a young age.

You were excused from the King and Jaime led you towards a table that was currently occupied by other people of Dorne, with one seat left for yourself.
“The introductions and information will begin in a few moments, Lady Y/N. For now, feel free to talk to the other guests” Jaime smiled at you, letting his hand rest on the small of your back as he led you to the table. The gesture seemed a bit too physical for a Westerosi custom, but you brushed it off as Ser Jaime being kind.

Before you could sit, a pair of large arms were wrapped around your waist from behind and kisses were being placed on both of your cheeks.
“Lady Y/N Allyrion, my it has been far too long” you heard a husky voice say next to your ear. You knew who it was from the voice, so before you turned around you said,
“Prince Oberyn, it has indeed been too long” and you spun around to wrap your arms around his neck. While you were hugging him, you made eye contact with Jaime Lannister, who seemed to have his jaw clenched tight and the hand that was not holding on to his sword was fisted in a ball at his side. Anger flashed in his eyes before he realized you were looking at him with an eyebrow raised in confusion and he simply cleared his throat and looked away, trying not to notice you and Oberyn in your embrace. When you pulled back, Oberyn was smiling at you. The two of you knew one another well, since Godsgrace and Sunspear were both on the peninsula of Dorne and were not too far from one another, you dealt with the Martells regularly.

After the introductions, there was much talk about the wedding and how there would be feasts and jousting and plenty of festivities leading up to the wedding at the end of the week. For now, there was going to be a big feast and lots of wine.
“Prince Oberyn I’ve missed your company in Godsgrace!” you said, gesturing at him with your wine, “It gets quite lonely in that big, old castle sometimes” you laughed.
“I’ll have to come visit more often then” he smirked, “you sure have grown since the last time I saw you.” He moved to pour more wine in both of your glasses.
“I suppose that’s a compliment” you laughed.
“Trust me, my dear, it is. I almost wouldn’t have recognized you if it weren’t for your silver streak” he smiled as your hand when to the wide streak of silver hair that was hanging next to your face. You were about to compliment Oberyn back when a warm hand settled on your shoulder. You turned your head to see who it was.
“Ser Jaime” you smiled, a little too enthusiastically.
“Lady Y/N, how is everything?” he smiled at you, glancing over at Oberyn.
“Great! The food and wine are excellent!” you beamed, it was the truth, the food in the Red Keep was amazing and so was the wine.
“Excellent” Jaime smiled, “Would you like to go on my rounds with me? I can give you a tour of the castle” he extended his hand to you.
“I’d love that!” you said, taking his hand and allowing him to help you up and lead you to the door. You’d catch up with Oberyn later, after all, you had the whole week.

After Jaime led you into the hall, he spoke.
“So, Lady Y/N. You know Prince Oberyn well?” he asked, walking down the hall with one hand on his sword.
“Yes” you smiled up at him while walking next to him down the hall, “Oberyn and I both grew up in Dorne. He’s a very good friend of my family, he used to visit Godsgrace often. Not so much anymore, but hopefully that will change.”
“So you’re not together, then?” he asked, looking at you out of the corner of his eye.
“Oh my, no!” you giggled, putting a hand to your chest.
“Well then,” he stopped abruptly and turned so he was now in front of you, facing you, “might I ask if you’re seeing anyone?”
“As a matter of fact, I’m not” you said, biting your lip.

Was Jaime Lannister flirting with you? No, there’s no way. He’s the Jaime Lannister, he wouldn’t be interested in a girl like you.
“Your hair is very unique, it’s no wonder they call you the Silver Viper of Dorne” he said, a small smile playing across his face. He lifted a hand and ran his fingers over the silver streak in your hair.
“Thank you” you said, blushing and glancing at the floor, “it definitely gets attention” you laughed.
“You deserve the attention” he smiled wider now, lifting your face with his hand. He leaned in and placed a sweet kiss on your cheek that lasted a bit longer than it should have. Your blush was darker now, and a smile was spreading across your features, lighting up your face. As his lips were still resting on your cheek, someone yelling broke you two apart.
“Jaime!” you hear being called from down the hall. As you jump back from him, you see his sister Cersei round the corner.
“Oh, Jaime! I was looking for you everywhere” she said, putting a hand on his shoulder.
“Come Y/N” Jaime said gesturing for you to walk with him, “let’s get back to the feast now.”

Once you returned to the hall, Prince Oberyn met eyes with you when you walked in the door and smiled.
“Hanging out with the Kingslayer, aye?” he laughed, clapping a hand on your shoulder and leading you back to your shared table.
“He was just showing me round the castle, Viper” you shot back, narrowing your eyes for a moment and then laughing.
“Is that why you only got down the second hall, Viper?” he smirked, emphasizing your shared nickname, raising his eyebrows, taunting you.
“Quit your teasing, Martell” you laughed, “He was just showing me round.”
“Oh, no no no, my dear” he chuckled, pulling you close to his chest and leaning down, putting his lips to your ear he said,
“I do believe the Kingslayer’s got it bad for you.”
Oberyn smirked as he looked over your shoulder, winking at Jaime as he did. That caused Jaime to clench his fists and tighten up his expression, but he couldn’t go up to you, he was sitting with Cersei and Joffrey.
“You jealous, Oberyn?” you leaned back to look at him, laughing.
“Maybe I am” he said proudly, puffing out his chest a little.
“Don’t worry my sweet, sweet Prince, Kingslayer’s got nothing on you. The Dornish charmer” you laughed, wrapping an arm around his waist. In response, he wrapped an arm around your shoulders.

The two of you walked out of the hall still holding onto one another, Jaime’s jealousy was going to have to wait. For now, you had some major catching up to do.

The flame trees have bloomed.

You stand right under the largest flame tree growing on the low hill and tilt your head back to snap a picture with your phone. The blazing red flowers make a stark contrast against the cloudless blue sky.

In Seoul, it should be just past the blooming period of cherry blossoms. Memories of your last springtime threaten to resurface to your conscious thoughts, but you push them down and away. There are no cherry blossoms here, no spring–there’s only the hot season.

Anyway, the flame trees have their own beauty. They’re hardier too, not breaking away at the slightest disturbance and not dying days after barely living.

You have no need for such pale and delicate flowers.


You blink, still gazing at the sky through the flame trees, sure that the familiar voice is only in your head. It has been a year. But it’s only a year. More years will go by and I’ll forget. Sure as cherry blossoms die…

She’s tall enough for him to easily look her in the eye, her skin glows under the tropical sun, and her hair freely tumbles in the warm breeze. Jungkook stares at her so intently that he doesn’t think to glance away when she catches him looking.

“So what does that make you?” she asks, in her voice like bells–not silvery chimes, but strong, resonant tones more akin to tower bells.

Jungkook ponders the question, a smirk playing upon his lips.

“Your highness, please!” Cogsworth cried as he attempted to keep up with the Prince who was dashing down the corridors. “I’m sure she’s here somewhere but please slow down!” The old man wheezed as he stopped chasing, hands heavily leaning on his knees as he tried to catch his breath.

“There is no time for that! She could be anywhere!” Prince Adam called to him as he opened every door in the corridor, gazing inside for the sigh of you until he slammed it shut with frustration when realizing you weren’t there.

“Ah! Mes amis!” Lumiere said in his joyous voice as he saunted up to the two of them. “What are we doing?” He whispered as he leaned into another empty guest suite with the prince.

Adam whirled around, grabbing his friend by the shoulders. “You haven’t seen (Y/n) anywhere have you?” He asked desperately.

Lumiere’s brows knitted together as he tried to recall the last time he had seen you. “I’m afraid I cannot recall anytime recently,” He said watching the face of his prince fall, and Lumiere began to worry. “Is she alright? Why are we looking for her?”

Cogsworth managed to pull himself together, dabbing at his wrinkled forehead with a white handkerchief. “His highness cannot find Lady (Y/n) and is beginning to worry.”

Lumiere grinned. “Ah, lovesick for your amor?” He asked with a mischievous laugh. “Fear not! We shall find her together!”

After another hour passed, Prince Adam was beginning to lose his patience and all of his worrying sent his nerves into overdrive. He jumped at every small sound, whirling to see if you had returned, but the worst of it all was the paranoia beginning to cloud his judgement.

What if you had finally gotten tired of his unpredictable temper or maybe you wanted your normal life back?

What if he turned back into a beast because you stopped loving him?

Mrs. Potts’ gentle hand on his shoulder nearly made him shoot five feet into the hair, but seeing the kind expression in the woman’s face made him feel calm.

“I can see your worried, dear,” She said, brushing off his shoulders and giving him her warmest smile. “She’ll turn up eventually, I know it.”

It was nearly dark, and Prince Adam was at an all time high.

He’d pace around his office for several minutes at a time before falling into the tall armchair, he sat there for a second or two before springing back up and returning to his pacing.

“I’ll go make him some tea,” Mrs. Potts said as she looked sadly through the small crack in the door.

Lumiere watched on as well, his expression more solemn. “You don’t really think she left, do you?”

Mrs. Potts turned to face him, a stern expression on her face. “Now you just rattle that thought out of that head right this instant,” She said firmly, placing her hand on her hips. “(Y/n) is a responsible girl, and she loves the prince very dearly, she’ll turn up.”

Yet another dragged past, the tea left on his desk had long grown cold, and Adam’s eyes were glued to the office windows, keeping an eye out for you.

“YOUR HIGHNESS!” Came the hoarse voice of Cogsworth as he burst through the office doors. “Wonderful news!-” His announcement came to a halt as he paused to cough into his handkerchief.

“What is it?” Prince Adam said patiently as he helped the old man into a chair.

“Lady (Y/n) has been spotted at the gates, she’s in the stables now.”

A large smile broke out on Adam’s face as he patted Cogsworth shoulders. “Thank you!” He said quickly before sprinting away.

Prince Adam made it down to the front doors before he saw you being greeted by the other household members. Mrs. Potts was kissing your cheeks as she cried out about how much everyone was worried for you, Chip was tugging on the ends of your riding cloak as he chattered excitedly at you.

“I’m so sorry,” He heard you speak Mrs. Potts as you tried to calm you. “It was never my intention to be gone so long.”

“(Y/n), darling!” Adam called out as he made his way down the marble stairs. “Where have you been? Everyone was so worrie,” He said as calmly as he could as he wrapped his arms around you. “You’re freezing.”

“Oh never mind about that,” You said with a small laugh as you pushed his hands away from you. “I promise I’m fine, I just wanted to stop into the town earlier this morning to get you all something.” You told him, taking small trinkets from a brown bag that was slung across your shoulder.

Mrs. Potts gasped as you handed her a new blue and white porcelain teapot. “Oh my goodness!” She said as she observed the intricate floral pattern.

You gave Chip a small wooden box filled with chess peices, which he showed his mother with great vigor. “Look what (Y/n) got me!” He said as he held up the Queen.

“What do you say, Chip?” She asked as she ran her hand through his hair.

“Thank you, Miss (Y/n)!” He chirped before running off into the castle.

Mrs. Potts gave you one last kiss, exclaiming her gratitude and how she would find you an even better gift.

“What’s the occasion, dear?” Prince Adam as he wrapped his arms around you again, still worried about your low temperature.

You shrugged your shoulders and gave him a guilty smile. “Well it’s nearly Christmas time, and I wanted to give everyone special gifts early.”

Prince Adam lifted your hands to his lips as he kissed them tenderly. “I was very worried about you,” He whispered softly as looked into your eyes. “You just disappeared without a trace.”

You looked at him guiltily. “I am sorry I didn’t tell you, but I wanted it to be a surprise and I had the feeling if I would have said something you would have refused to let me go alone.”

He could only chuckle at how well you knew him, and he nuzzled himself closer to you. “I was merely only worried you wouldn’t return, but a part of me always knew you would come back.”

You smiled and gave him a small peck on the lips before removing yourself from his grasp. “I still have your gift,” You said brightly as you carefully took out a bundle of wrapping paper and set it in his hands. “I had to be especially careful with that one.”

Prince Adam looked down at it with a small smile as he pulled back the paper, opening it to reveal a large and ornate snow globe of a carousel scene.

“I tried to find the prettiest one I could,” You said as the two of you looks down at it. “I know you probably have lots far more grand but I still thought you would like it.”

“I love it,” Adam said happily as he placed a lingering kiss on your temple. “It’ll sit front and center on my desk.” He said proudly.

You took it back from him to he didn’t have to worry about carrying it, wrapping it up again and going on a small tangent about how lovely town was and all the people you saw.

Prince Adam merely looked at you with a fond smile and he mentally wrote down all of your expressions, simply being happy that you had returned to the castle safely.

“And then what happened?” He asked curiously as he linked his arm with yours and began to walk you up the stairs, planning to spend the next several hours just being in your presence.

The Crown Prince

I may have gotten a bit carried away; this is more like a novella. :^)

The trees rustle above you in a heavy wind, and you smell rain in it. You sigh and glance back at the car, wondering if it was too late to escape. You heft your suitcase in your hand and sigh again, heavier this time. This was something you’d been dreading since you’d first heard the news; coming back here had its perks, sure, but there was on very glaring exclusion to that. As you turn to walk back up the path to the old family cabin, a large beetle flies at your face, and you duck, yelping in fear. It buzzes loudly as it flies past, landing somewhere off in the distance.

You shiver and shake yourself as chills run over your skin; bugs and creepy crawlies bothered you so much. They had ever since you were a kid, ever since… you shudder and grip your suitcase tightly.

I had a number of people ask for a part 2 to my prompt where Aelin and Rowan met at the age of seventeen (thank you all SO MUCH for the amazing response!!), so here it is!

Too soon for Rowan’s liking, the afternoon sun started to vanish in the west. The evening sky turned shades of pink and red. And Rowan found himself wishing he could follow the sun, run to the west and away from here. Away for the painstaking dinner he was about to indoor.

Straightening his tunic, Rowan let a soft, shaking sigh leave his lips. Him and his Uncle were the first and only ones in the beautifully ancient dinner hall. Rowan was taking the few moments of peace to prepare himself, looking out the floor to ceiling window before Queen Maeve showed up.

And before Princess Aelin and her family walked in.

Rowan could feel temperature in the room start to raise as he run a shaky hand through is shoulder length hair. 

Gods. If he couldn’t even think about her, how was he going to make it through a five course meal?

But he couldn’t help it. Her imagine was forever burned into his mind. Her long golden hair and wicked smile. Those startling blue-green eyes ringed with the slightest gold. Eyes that hold a fire behind. The slope of her hips as she walked away from form. The curves of her breasts-

Rowan bit the instead of his cheek. Heart made its way up his neck and onto his face. He tried, tired with all his might and willpower to get the imagine of Aelin out of his head. But it seemed even the mere thought of her loved to make him squirm.

Rowan took another steady breath just as he heard the double wooden doors open.

Heart beating out of his chest, Rowan slowly turned around. Bracing himself to come face to face with the blonde-haired beauty. But he was met by a dark-haired god instead.

“Your Majesty.” Rowan’s uncle dropped into a low bow before The Queen of the Fae. A heartbeat later, Rowan followed his lead.

This wasn’t Rowan’s first time meeting the Queen of the Fae. The first time being when him and his uncle first arrived. The whole time, Rowan didn’t dare look at her to long as she took him in. After that, whenever his uncle met with Maeve, Rowan had no need to be present.

Blood red lips pulled back in a blinding smile, showing off perfect teeth. She dipped her head just the slightest, midnight hair falling over her shoulder, a silent command to rise.

Rowan was aware of the words being spoken between Queen Maeve and his uncle, but he wasn’t listening. He couldn’t hear them over the wild beating of his heart.

He was disappointed Aelin didn’t walk through that door. Gods help him.

Rowan and his uncle followed Maeve to the wooden dinning table. He tried not the swallow to loudly as they reached their seats. A lesser Fae came almost out of air and pulled back Maeve’s seat at the head of the table.

Rowan and his uncle waited until Maeve was seated before pulling out their own chairs on each side of her. Just before they could be seated, however, the giant doors were pulled opened again.

Rowan could feel her presence before he ever looked her way. His heart stopped. Turning, he watched as Prince Rhoe Galathynius of Terrasen walked into the room, with his wife Evalin, and Aedion Ashryver

“Your Highnesses.” Rowan faintly heard his uncle, before his eyes landed on Princess Aelin.

Golden hair was pulled back in a loss, elegant up-do, making it easier for Rowan to take in her blazing eyes and sharp cheek bones. The dress she wore earlier was a little girl dress compared to the figure hugging, long sleeved, deep green gown she had on now. Eyes traveling up, Rowan took in every curve and slope, his face getting hotter and hotter by the second. He glanced at the silver crown on top of her hand before his eyes stopped at her face.

By Wyrd, Aelin was starring right back at him. She held his gaze for a moment before raising a perfect eyebrow, as if to say “like what you see?”.

It was only then Rowan realized how quiet it was in the room.

Blushing from toes to his hairline, Rowan managed to lower into a bow, mumbling “Your highnesses” in a weak, pathetic voice.

He stayed there for a few short moments, collecting himself before standing up again. And Gods, Aelin had that damn wicked smile on her face, eyes still on him.

“Please,” Maeve lifted a wine glass to her smiling lips. It was only then that Rowan noticed she didn’t even bother to stand for the Prince. “Sit.”

Rhoe gracefully walked towards the table, his family following closing behind him. He gave Rowan a once over as he walked by, before dropping into his seat the servant pulled out for him. Evalin at least gave him a small smile before taking her seat. Rowan held his ground, though his face still burned.

The Aedion Ashryver was standing before. Rowan didn’t react as Aedion gave him a hard look over. The two males stared each other down, either one wanting to back down first.

“Aedion.” Evalin’s soft voice was heard. Aedion watched Rowan for a moment longer before backing away.

Rowan took a quick breath through his nose, eyes closed for half a second. He pulled out his own chair and sat down. He met his uncles questioning gaze for a moment, but looked down at the wooden table.

It was only when he heard the chair move next to him that Rowan looked up. And it was only than that he noticed the seating arrangement for the first time.

Rowan swallowed. The Prince of Terrasen was sat at the other end of the table, across from Maeve. While Evalin sat on his right. Aedion took the seat on Rhoe’s left and Aelin—

Rowan couldn’t help by stare as Aelin took the chair next to him. She shared a smile with her mother, Evalin taking her hand and giving it a little squeeze before letting go again. Then, as if she could feel Rowan watching her, Aelin peaked over at him through her leashes. The corners of her lips turned up slightly and Rowan quickly looked away.

It was silent as the servers came out with the first course of what was no doubt to be a long dinner.

“I hope you’re enjoying your stay,” Maeve broke the silence a few moments into eating. She was leaned back in her chair, wine glass in hand. Her eyes flicked to Rhoe.

“We are,” Rhoe nodded, taking a small sip of his own wine. “Thank you once more.”

“Of course,” Maeve’s smile was blinding, violet eyes turning to Evalin. “Anything for family.”

Evalin sent Maeve her known wild smile and Rowan realized then who Aelin took after.

“After all,” Maeve continued on. “Family is very important to me.”

Rowan heard a soft snort from his left. He found Aelin looking down at her food, eyes in mid roll. The sound was so low, that her father didn’t hear it. But everyone else in the room were part or pure Fae.

Evalin sent a sharp look towards her daughter, but Aelin didn’t react. She didn’t even look up.

Maeve took a long sip of her wine. “Which is why I’m so glad you agreed to finally make this trip. For if give me a chance to finally met my niece.”

Rowan felt the air in the room shift. Maeve placed her glass in the table and leaned forward, eyes landed on Aelin.

Slowly, Aelin lifted her head. Everyone at the table watched as Aelin met Maeve’s gaze. A dazzling smile took for on Aelin’s lips. A challenging smile.

“You definitely take after your mother, Aelin dear.” Maeve smile was wild. “Wouldn’t you agree, Prince Rhoe?”

“I would,” Rhoe didn’t miss a beat as he looked at his daughter. “She’s just as beautiful as her mother.”

Aelin turned to her father, and gave him a soft smile. A smile that made Rowan’s heart stop mid-beat before beating through his chest.

And damn him to hell, because Aelin heard.

The conversation around them continued. It was tight and forced, but continued. Not that Rowan was paying attention. He couldn’t take his eyes off Aelin. He could basically see the wheels turning in her head. A wicked smile slowly forming on her lips.

“Do you think I’m beautiful?”

The question was innocent enough, but stopped all conversation around them. Rowan didn’t so much as blink. Aelin turned to him, eyes burning a hole into his very soul. A small, innocent smile played on her face, and Rowan almost missed the amusement behind her mask.

 Rowan’s ears went pink. He quickly looked around the table. Evalin had a small smile on her face. Rhoe watched on with narrow eyes and Aedion was gripping his spoon has hard, Rowan was sure it was bent out of place. His uncle raised an eyebrow at him while Maeve just looked bored.

Gaze back on Aelin, who hadn’t so much as moved, Rowan didn’t know how to get out of this one.

“Yes. Well, I… you-“ Rowan wanted to hate her for the look on enjoyment on her face, the way her eyes lit up at him making a fool of himself. Taking a deep breath, face burning, Rowan turned to his meal. “You’re very beautiful, Princess.”

Silence dragged on for a long, embarrassing moment, before his uncle asked Rhoe a question. The conversation picked up once again.

Rowan couldn’t bring himself to look up. It was bad enough he made a fool of himself eelier in front of just Aelin. But now, he made an idiot of himself in front of Aelin and her family, Maeve and his uncle.

The courses changed. Conversation carried on. Rowan kept looking at his plate. He could feel Aelin watching him, but did his best to ignore it. That was, until something sharp hit him on his leg.

Rowan’s head snapped to his left. He only found Aelin, looking at her meal and eating away. But her face was too innocent.

Rowan turned back to his dinner. They were more than half way done at the point. He could do this.

Another kick in the leg.

Head snapping to the left, Rowan glared slightly, cheeks pink, then Aelin met his gaze. She gave him an innocent look, eyebrow raised.

“You two have met, it seems?”

“Oh yes,” Aelin turned to Rowan’s uncle, giving him a blinding smile. “Earlier this evening, out in the woods.”

“In the woods?” Evalin raised an eyebrow. Rhoe’s hard eyes landing on Rowan.

Gods above, save him, Rowan all but prayed before another soft kick from Aelin’s heels hit him in the leg.

“Mhmm.” Aelin took a sip of her drink. “I stumbled upon Prince Rowan just as he was finishing up training, it would seem.”

“Is that so.” Maeve leaned back in her chair once more, looking anything but interested in the conversation.

Aelin smiled at her Aunt before turning back to Rowan, whose face was on fire. Trying to distract himself, Rowan carefully brought his drink to his lips.

“Rowan here has agree to show me some fighting techniques.”

Rowan all but chocked on his drink, face now blazing.

“Is that so?” Prince Rhoe leaned back in his own seat, gaze never leaving Rowan.

“He’s an excellent fighter,” Aelin continued on, sending Rowan another kick.

“Well then. If my daughter says you’re an excellent fighter it must be true.” Rhoe said. “I’d love to see these fighting techniques.”

Rowan was at a loss for words, and if it wasn’t for a kick under the table, he wouldn’t have said anything.

“Of course, your Highness.”

The topic was dropped after that. Rowan sent once glance towards Aelin, but she was talking to her mother instead.

Rowan didn’t know what just happened.

The second last course came out. Aelin didn’t spoke another word to him for a long while. But the kicks keep coming. Every time her heel touched his leg, Rowan’s blood would boil a bit more. She knew they were destroying him. He knew she did.

It was like clockwork, her kicks. In fact, Rowan almost thought she didn’t even realize she was doing it. That was, until she laughed at something Aedion said from across the table, and her hand landed on his upper tight.

“Stop it!” Rowan jumped up from his seat.

The room went dead quiet. Aedion jumped up from his own chair. Aelin looked up at Rowan, still seated in her chair. She blinked, but that was the only indication of her surprise. 

Rowan was breathing heavy, heart going wild. His eyes face was red, from embarrassment or frustration. Maybe both. Rowan just kept holding Aelins gaze, his eyes narrowed.

Then, she smiled.

A beautifully real smile formed on Aelin’s face. Her turquoise eyes lit up, the gold turning to fire. She smiled up at him, not one bit of wickedness or that calculating cleverness on her face. Just a smile. A loving smile.

And Rowan felt the snap.

He’s heart swelled, eyes widened. His heart was beating against his ribcage and he felt like he couldn’t breath as he stared into those damn beautiful eyes. Rowan didn’t care about anyone else in the room. He didn’t care about Aedion standing on the other side of the table, looking ready to jump him. He didn’t care about his uncle or Queen Maeve.

He didn’t care about any of this as he gazed down at Princess Aelin Galathynius.

Because he was looking at his mate.

I ask her why he says that, as Matt usually encourages the kids imaginations. “Mattie says that humans can’t marry animals.” I’m all, What?? And Matt takes back the phone to explain that Julia, dear sweet Julia, wants to marry Tamatoa the crab. Because they share an interest in shiny things and glow in the dark items. So he hands back the phone and I say to Julia, “follow your dreams. Marry a crab. Cover yourself in shiny jewelry. I can bring my glow in the dark nail polish next week, if you’d like.” Matt thinks I’ve officially lost it, and now our sweet Julia is planning her underwater wedding.

Chapter 6: Sentiment

The night went quickly for Evan.

He woke up to Jon cuddled into his armpit with his mouth open, dribbling slightly. He looked so little, like back when they use to cuddle up next to each other and it wasn’t gay and wasn’t weird for them too. He loved those times were they didn’t have to worry about anything other than what they felt then. It was peaceful. Now they had so many responsibilities and such that he forgotten what it felt like to relax and not worry about anyone other than himself.

Evan found himself staring for too long at Jon though. No, something was different, it wasn’t just the responsibilities, but the way Jon’s jawline and his perfectly assorted face was held, the way his arms had tangled their way around him, how his sleeve tattoo and his piercings only added to the fact he was already a good looking human. Perfect in Evans eyes. Growing up had always scared him and Jon, but nothing could have prepared him for these confusing feelings.

Evan gingerly moved his arm a little, coming to bring Jon closer. He looked across to see Tyler sleeping across his feet, Brock was next to Jon, hugging Brian as he saved him from falling off, Anthony and Scotty were already on the floor with a space of where they once were on the bed, Lui seemed to be sleeping on Jon’s desk chair, David was half in the wardrobe somehow and Craig, Marcel, Ryan and Luke were nowhere to be seen. Luke being sober probably meant that they were somewhere sensible rather than in the cramped bed.

It took a while for them all to wake up. Luke was the first up, knocking lightly on the door frame of the bedroom.
Evan looked up, he seemed to be the only other one awake.

“I can’t believe you’ll cramped in here, there was another bedroom me and Ryan could of shared. That one has a door too.” He whispered, chuckling to himself.

Evan smiled in agreement, his head hurting like a bitch.

“You want anything there?” Luke asked, rather amused by the way his brother from another mother was wedged into Evans arms.

“Water please.”

He heard Luke walk away before laughter erupted from the bathroom causing a few people to stir. Luke came running back in, almost crying.

“Marcel’s in the fucking bath asleep, scared the complete shit out of me!”

Evan giggled slightly causing Jon to turn.

“I thought he was with you and Ryan?”

“No! I guess that’s where he’s been sleeping all night, freaking idiot.”

“Shut the fuck up.” Tyler mumbled, his eye cracking open slightly.

“Where’s Craig?” Luke whispered now, Evan shrugged. “This is when we find him dead some place. And also, why the hell is David in the wardrobe?”

Evan chuckled lightly.

“I actually have no clue.”

There was a weird silence as they looked over the sea of dead looking teens.

“Water.” Was all Luke said, before turning to leave.

Evan had gotten up after Luke had given him glass of water. They talked for awhile about random things.

Evan liked Luke, he had acted like a big brother to him and especially Jon. He loved Jon to bits.

“What the hell happened last night?” Scotty asked, walking slowly down the stairs.

Luke laughed at his pain.

“You fucked Anthony.”


Luke laughed harder, causing Evan to snicker. They had agreed to tell everyone the most outrageous things they could think of, and that was having sex with another person.

“It’s true.” Evan added, taking a glass of water to him. “In Jon’s fucking bed too, it was gross.”

“Yeah! We had to pry you from the fucker before any of us could get some sleep.”

Scotty started to turn red.

“You’re lying!”

“Nu-uh.” Luke mumbled, putting his serious older brother face on. Evan was internally dying of laughter.

Scotty stood there in shock before shaking his head. This made Luke laugh hard.

“I know you’re fucking lying you dicks.” Scotty frowned, punching Luke’s arm lightly.

They told Scotty the plan.

They waited for an hour, talking again about nothing in particular.

“Where the fuck is Ryan, is he dead?” Luke stated, beginning to climb the stairs.

A minute later he came down basically dragging the hungover lad by his arm.

Ryan cursed under his breath, before rubbing his eyes.

“Hey guys.” He yawned.


“Anyone seen my glasses?”

“I’ve got them.” Luke replied, going to his bag and handing them to him.

“Thanks buddy.” Ryan popped them on. He was good at rocking both the contacts and the glasses, as long as you could still see his beautiful eyes he was a catch.

“Hey did you know you two fucked last night?” Scotty said a little too excitedly.

Ryan laughed sleepily, looking over to Luke.

“Oh yeah? Did we now?” He replied sarcastically, brushing Luke slightly. “I remember it being the best sex I’ve ever had.”

“Stop it you fucker.” Luke mumbled, he knew that wouldn’t work on Ryan. He was far too flirtatious to get all red and shy if he had fucked him anyway.

“Yes a fucker is what I am, I’m guessing you must of been the fucked then?” Ryan laughed far too cutely for Luke’s liking.

“You’re a bitch.”

This made Ryan laugh harder.

“Can I play?”

Tyler was the next to come down. They told him he had fucked Craig, but he was far too stubborn to believe them. Next it was Anthony who got told about the whole Scotty case. He was convinced until he saw Scotty start to laugh. Then it was Lui, who thought the idea of him fucking David in the closet was hilarious and was way too funny to be real. After that it was Jon.

He almost fell down the stairs, tripping over his half-on sock.

“Alright mister eager!” Luke cried in laughter.

It was about 1pm and Ryan was only now making breakfast with whatever food he could find. It smelt delicious.

Jon groaned.

“I am either dying or dead and this is a shitty afterlife.” He yawned, coming to sit next to Evan.

“Sup man.” Evan mumbled. “Have a good one?”

“I dreamed I was in a weird ass universe where we had all the inside body parts of us on the outside. It was damn weird.”

“What?!” Luke laughed.

“Too much information.” Evan added. “I didn’t ask you for a novel.”

Jon snorted, still a little too light headed to start laughing.

“Oh,” Tyler butted in, getting up from the sofa. “Did you know you and Evan fucked last night?”


“Yeah dude, Evan was trying to get over his girlfriend and-”

“Too soon!” Ryan yelled over the sound of the pan sizzling.

Evan exhaled loudly, looking over to Ryan and nodding. Ryan smiled, before going back to his cooking. Thank God he had saved him. He didn’t feel like he could deal with the whole Georgia thing this morning. He had actually forgotten until Ty had said something.

“Anyway you two just fucked. Totally not for that reason.” Tyler mumbled, annoyed Ryan had ruined his catch.

“What?” Jon said again, a little less surprised. He raised an eyebrow up at Evan.

“Yeah totally.” Evan said in his sarcastic monotone voice. “We frickle fracked in yo bedroom.”

“Damn without a door? That must of been spicy!” Luke added.

Jon laughed, a little blush still on his face. “Damn that’s risky. I bet it was good.”

“Of course it was.” Evan said, feeling he was taking it too far. “Could work a little on flexibility though, I had a HARD time getting there.”

Evan started to blush, damn why had he said that. He was thinking about it now. An image he could never get rid of in his head.

“Well I’m sorry! We can’t all be perfect hoomans like you, you damn hoodini.”

This made Evan laugh. Thank God Jon hadn’t made it awkward.

“Anyway…” Tyler mumbled, a little freaked by the flirting the two were doing. He thought he had got use to flirting from Ryan’s flirty nature, however this was more innocent. The way they lightly blushed and the nervous teasing. It made him shiver. “Where the fuck is Craig?”

They found him in the garden, sleeping like a log underneath one of the boys cars.

Marcel woke up about thirty minutes later complaining of being wet and achy and David around an hour later, confused why he was hanging out of a closet.

Brock and Brian were the last to wake up. Their soft chatting could be heard from the boys downstairs.

“So what do you guys wanna do?” Evan asked knowing some had work later and such. “I’m staying here tonight, right?”

“If you wanna, it’s kind of a shit-hole.”

“It’s always a shit-hole.” Evan stated.


“Well me and Brian have to go like, now, we have a date with Brian’s mom. I agreed to swing by and paint her living room.” Brock mumbled, getting up and helping Brian up. “And I’m helping I guess.” Brian said in annoyance causing Brock to laugh.

“It’s your mom.”

“I can take some of you dudes home in a bit. As Craig knows my car’s outside if anybody wants a lift, but it’ll have to be in a sec. I’ve got work at 4 and it’s like half 3 now.” Marcel said, also getting up as he looked around the circle of his friends.

“I’ll take you up on the offer dude.” Tyler mumbled.

Anthony and Scotty looked at each other. “us too”

“And me!” David yelled, Marcel frowned.

“Man you like live a million miles away I’m not taking you home.”

“Damn it.”

“I’ll take you home.” Craig muttered, rolling his eyes. “You can come with me a Lui.”

“Woo awesome!”

Jon looked towards the two older boys for their answer. Luke spoke first.

“Well my car’s out front so we’ll go when ever my princess wants too.”

“Aw thank you my dear prince Lukey boy.” Ryan replied, chuckling. “So that should basically be whenever you want us to go Jon.”

“Okay.” Jon replied. He looked towards Evan who was watching them all leave.

“How long are you planning on staying?”

“Um, like all holiday basically? I was hoping if you got bored of me I could crash at someone else’s for a while.”

Jon laughed.

“You’re damn right you’re staying all holiday.” Jon smiled, shuffling slightly. “You gotta make up for the years you’ve missed with me.”

Evan giggled, looking in his direction. “I will, don’t worry.”

The early boys left then and there, and not even an hour later the Craig carpool left, leaving only Jon and Evan, and Ryan and Luke.

“What do you lads wanna do?” Luke asked as Ryan went to the toilet.

Jon shrugged. “my mama said she’d be back at like 8, so make that about 9-ish to 10-ish so we have load of time.”

“Yeah, we’ll go when ever your mom gets home.” Luke mumbled, before the footsteps of Ryan could be heard.

“How about filling us in on anything interesting that happened last night Luke?” Ryan asked as he jogged back down the stairs, coming to join them all snuggled on the sofa bed.

“Hmm.” Luke scratched his beard. “Well I’m like 100% sure that Brock and Brian are a thing, Marcel got a little too excited and threw up outside, and Craig stepped in shit whilst he and Tyler ran around wrestling In the garden. Hence why he slept outside. Evan you decided it was a good idea to teach Jon to ice skate by throwing ice everywhere. And Ryan, oh Ryan, I think you sent a dick pic to everyone we know. I’m not even lying this time.”

“Well fuck.” Ryan replied, grabbing his phone from his pocket.


“Told you.” Luke laughed along with Jon.

“I think I got one.” Jon mumbled, bring up his phone to find Ryan had text him.

Ryan snatched the phone away from him.

“Deleted.” He muttered, giving Jon’s phone back causing Jon to laugh harder.

“Oh boy, I wonder who else has seen.”


Luke burst into laughter as Ryan showed him the angry text he had got from his mum.

“Goddamn it, can I stay at yours tonight luke?”

“Convince me.”

“Well I didn’t send you a picture.”

“You did, and I caught you in the act too. That double minus points.”

“Fuuuucckk. I’m dead.” Ryan cried.

Jon was laying into Evan, trying not to wet himself. He hadn’t remembered laughing so hard in the last year he had been here.

“Of course you can stay, I got you bro.”

“Thank God, you lifesaver.”

“Just call me Jesus fucking Christ.”

“Jesus is fucking Christ? I didn’t know that. Is that something that also happened last night?” Evan joked making Jon laugh harder, he was laughing so hard nothing was coming out and he was just rolling around as he grasped for air. Evan had missed this so much. He had missed Jon the most though. His laugh alone made him laugh. It was the best feeling ever, laughing at nothing other than someone else’s happiness.

They decided on playing a friendly match of Mario Kart. Evan, of course, being Luigi, Jon as Baby Luigi, Luke as Peach and Ryan as Daisy.

“YOU DAMN HOOCHIE!” Jon screamed as Ryan bashed him with a red shell as he flew past him into first place, with both Evan and Luke following close behind. “DAMN IT ALL!”

Evan somehow managed to get first as Luke and Ryan beat eachother up. He jumped up in triumph.

“Come on Jo, you can do it!” He chanted as he bumped into him lightly.

“I’ll never do it!” Jon cried back as he raced towards the pair, with Ryan hit by a shell and Luke falling from the side.

“You will.” Evan whispered, getting closer to his ear. “If you do it I’ll give you a kiss.”

Jon’s head spun to meet his eyes causing his character to crash into the back of a fence, making him loss.

“Oh dear, looks like you won’t get one. Did it distract you that much?” Evan began to laugh, forgetting the other two were sat right next to him.

“No!” Jon exclaimed in panic. “No, of course not. I let ya’ll win! Yeah, yeah…”

“Of course you did.” Luke said, rolling his eyes.

They suddenly heard the front door go before the familiar face popped around the corner.

It was Jon’s mum. She almost looked identical to him apart from her long hair.

“Hey guys.” She mumbled quietly, carrying what seemed to be a suitcase.

“Why you back so early mama?” Jon asked curious. He knew she had stayed at a friends last night and had told him she’d be back late.

He jumped up to help her in, as well as Evan who seemed stuck to his side.

“Hey Carol.” Evan smiled, causing her to look up to the unexpected voice.

“Oh! Ev! I haven’t seen you ages, how have you been?” The cheery voice she had on didn’t seem like her at all. Jon frowned.

“I’ll take that mama, you speak to Evan. I told you he was coming down, didn’t I?”

Carol nodded, not really remembering if he had or not. She frowned weirdly at her son and then back over to Evan. He had grown a bit taller and harboured buff shoulders and muscular legs. It was weird to not see him as the round little boy anymore, mind you, she could’ve said the same about all of Jon’s mates, including himself.

Jon started to take the suitcase, lugging it up the stairs as it was heavier than expected. Evan stared at him for a moment, before looking back down to his best friend’s mother, she had changed and not for the better.

“Hey Jon.” Luke hollered before Jon had made it all the way. “You okay there? If so me and Ryan are gonna head off. Ryan reminded me there’s a car show I wanted to watch on TV.”

Jon laughed, God Luke was a nerd.

“Yeah I’m good, see you guys some other time.”

Evan sat in the kitchen with Carol. It was weird. He felt like he hadn’t seen her in forever as she was never really here when he was here anyway. “So, how have things been Ev? I’ve heard a lot about you from Jonathan. He’s been real excited about you coming back.”

“Has he now?” Evan chuckled, hearing a light bash upstairs. Jon was too cute.

“I’ve been rather busy with my whole hockey thing, I’m just looking for Universities now.”

“Why don’t you go to the one down here? Ryan said it is really good there, especially for whatever he’s doing… business is it? I can’t remember. And Jon has missed you so much, I think it would be great to have you down here again.”

Evan stared at her, the sentiment sweet and kind. The thing was, he had been looking at St Yale-field University as it was well equipt in the realm of economics as well as business, but the hockey was limited. He couldn’t decide on whether to go with the head or the heart in his predicament.

He just needed more time to think it over, hence why the holiday was going to be a long one.

“Yeah, I might go there.” He mumbled under his breath causing Carol’s face to light up.

“That would be nice, for all of us.”

Evan frowned, what was Carol saying? He didn’t want to make decisions based on others; okay, maybe he would for Jon though.

If Jon needed him, he’d do anything

“I’LL TAKE HIS PLACE, SET HIM FREE!” The words echo in her head, and she hugs herself tighter. With that simple phrase her freedom was lost —her dreams, her friends, her life —everything disappeared. And that monster still dared to suggest she’ll have breakfast with him. As if he didn’t murder every single one of her aspirations. As if he didn’t just take her as a prisoner. ‘What was I thinking, asking for his name like I even care about it?’ She groaned, furrowing her brows. She had wanted to have a name to hate, a word to mutter in frustration, a name to curse. She got nothing.
