I’m not trying to be inflammatory, I’m just curious. How do het ace/aro people face SYSTEMATIC oppression? Gay/bi/trans people face oppression like difficultly adopting children, finding housing, they may be fired from employment because of their gender or orientation. So they are bared from normal parts of live because of their gender/sexuality. Gay ace/aro people face this too, but what do het ace/aro people experience on a societal level?

If you’d been following my blog at all or even bothered to peruse it a little before dropping this message in my inbox, you’d probably already know the answer to your question.

You’d ALSO probably know that there are bi and pan aspecs too (e.g., I’m panromantic demisexual) which isn’t “gay” (does this term also include lesbians?) so I feel like your ask erases part of my own identity and that of others in the community.

For these reasons and more, I’d bet money that you’re not here because you’re “curious”. You’re probably here because you figure this is how you’re gonna stop a “self-imposing” aspec from speaking up for herself.

Well guess what: That’s just hateful & sad.

Regardless though of your intentions, I’m here to say that there is in fact SYSTEMATIC oppression against aspecs. For example, Dr Gordon Hodson wrote this about his 2012 study:

In a recent investigation (MacInnis & Hodson, in press) we uncovered strikingly strong bias against asexuals in both university and community samples. Relative to heterosexuals, and even relative to homosexuals and bisexuals, heterosexuals: (a) expressed more negative attitudes toward asexuals (i.e., prejudice); (b) desired less contact with asexuals; and © were less willing to rent an apartment to (or hire) an asexual applicant (i.e., discrimination). Moreover, of all the sexual minority groups studied, asexuals were the most dehumanized (i.e., represented as “less human”). Intriguingly, heterosexuals dehumanized asexuals in two ways. Given their lack of sexual interest, widely considered a universal interest, it might not surprise you to learn that asexuals were characterized as “machine-like” (i.e., mechanistically dehumanized). But, oddly enough, asexuals were also seen as “animal-like” (i.e., animalistically dehumanized). Yes, asexuals were seen as relatively cold and emotionless and unrestrained, impulsive, and less sophisticated.

When you repeatedly observe such findings it grabs your attention as a prejudice researcher. But let’s go back a minute and consider those discrimination effects. Really? You’d not rent an apartment to an asexual man, or hire an asexual woman? Even if you relied on stereotypes alone, presumably such people would make ideal tenants and employees. We pondered whether this bias actually represents bias against single people, a recently uncovered and very real bias in its own right (see Psychology Today column by Bella DePaulo). But our statistical analyses ruled out this this possibility. So what’s going on here?

If you’ve been following my column, you’ll recall that I wrote a recent article on what I called the “Bigotry Bigot-Tree” – what psychologists refer to as generalized prejudice. Specifically, those disliking one social group (e.g., women) also tend to dislike other social groups (e.g., homosexuals; Asians). In our recent paper (MacInnis & Hodson, in press), we found that those who disliked homosexuals also disliked bisexuals and asexuals. In other words, these prejudices are correlated. Heterosexuals who dislike one sexual minority, therefore, also dislike other sexual minorities, even though some of these groups are characterized by their sexual interest and activity and others by their lack of sexual interest and activity.

This anti-asexual bias, at its core, seems to boil down to what Herek (2010) refers to as the “differences as deficit” model of sexual orientation. By deviating from the typical, average, or normal sexual interests, sexual minorities are considered substandard and thus easy targets for disdain and prejudice. Contrary to conventional folk wisdom, prejudice against sexual minorities may not therefore have much to do with sexual activity at all. There is even evidence, for instance, that religious fundamentalists are prejudiced against homosexuals even when they are celibate (Fulton et al., 1999). Together, such findings point to a bias against “others”, especially different others, who are seen as substandard and deficient (and literally “less human”). “Group X” is targeted for its lack of sexual interest even more than homosexuals and bisexuals are targeted for their same-sex interests.

From news coverage of a recently published study (2016):

What should the average person take away from your study?

Since I first became interested in the issue, I have come to conclude that U.S. society is both “sex negative” and “sex positive.” In other words, there is stigma and marginalization that can come both from being “too sexual” and from being “not sexual enough.” In a theoretical paper, I argued that sexuality may be compulsory in contemporary U.S. society. In other words, our society assumes that (almost) everyone is, at their core, “sexual” and there exists a great deal of social pressure to experience sexual desire, engage in sexual activities, and adopt a sexual identity. At the same time, various types of “non-sexuality” (such as a lack of sexual desire or activity) are stigmatized.

For this particular study, I identified thirty individuals who identified as asexual and asked them first, if they had experienced stigma or marginalization as a result of their asexuality, and, second how they challenged this stigma or marginalization. I found that my interviewees had experienced the following forms of marginalization: pathologization (i.e. people calling them sick), social isolation, unwanted sex and relationship conflict, and the denial of epistemic authority (i.e. people not believing that they didn’t experience sexual attraction). I also found that my interviews resisted stigma and marginalization in five ways: describing asexuality as simply a different (but not inherently worse) form of sexuality; deemphasizing the importance of sexuality in human life; developing new types of nonsexual relationships; coming to see asexuality as a sexual orientation or identity; and engaging in community building and outreach.

I hope that average people would take away from this study the idea that some people can lead fulfilling lives without experiencing sexual attraction but can experience distress if others try to invalidate their identities.

Some of the social isolation we aspecs experience comes from religious communities. Indeed, the popular myth that religious people revere aspecs is very much NOT TRUE. For example, read “Myth 8″ from the VISION Catholic Religious Vocation Guide:

MYTH 8: Religious are asexual

Question: What do you call a person who is asexual?

Answer: Not a person. Asexual people do not exist. Sexuality is a gift from God and thus a fundamental part of our human identity. Those who repress their sexuality are not living as God created them to be: fully alive and well. As such, they’re most likely unhappy.

All people are called by God to live chastely, meaning being respectful of the gift of their sexuality. Religious men and women vow celibate chastity, which means they live out their sexuality without engaging in sexual behavior. A vow of chastity does not mean one represses his manhood or her womanhood. Sexuality and the act of sex are two very different things. While people in religious life abstain from the act of sex, they do not become asexual beings, but rather need to be in touch with what it means to be a man or a woman. A vow of chastity also does not mean one will not have close, loving relationships with women and men. In fact, such relationships are a sign of living the vow in a healthy way. Living a religious vow of chastity is not always easy, but it can be a very beautiful expression of love for God and others.

Religious women and men aren’t oddities; they mirror the rest of the church they serve: there are introverts and extroverts, tall and short, old and young, straight and gay, obese and skinny, crass and pious, humorous and serious, and everything in between. They attempt to live the same primary vocation as all other Christians do: proclaiming and living the gospel. However, religious do this as members of an order that serve the church and world in a particular way. Like marriage and the single life, religious life can be wonderful, fulfilling, exciting, and, yes, normal. Yet, it also can be countercultural and positively challenging. It’s that for us and many others.

If you thought religious life was outdated, dysfunctional, or dead, we hope you can now look beyond the stereotypes and see the gift it is to the church and world.

NOTE: YOU CAN BE A GAY CATHOLIC PERSON BUT NOT ASEXUAL, BC ASEXUALITY DOESN’T EXIST (yet somehow we’re also “most likely unhappy” and “oddities”). I sincerely hope and believe that not all religions characterize us aspecs this way. But here are some personal accounts I found on a reddit site answering the question “Do any religions have a negative stance toward asexuals?”:

Please note that the Christian pastor in the last example was fearful (or something?) that an asexual was helping to lead a youth group and kicked them out of the church as a result.

anonymous asked:

What if Harry Potter, the chosen one, had turned out to be a squib, how do you think history would have turned out differently?

It was Mrs. Figg who suspected first.

She noticed many things, sitting on her side of her fence with her cats chasing butterflies and nuzzling her ankles, Mundungus and the other watchers dropping by for tea now and then.

Mrs. Figg noticed that Petunia was a nosy bit of work with insecurities hanging from her every harsh angle. She noticed when Dudley learned the word MINE– the whole neighborhood noticed that one. She noticed that Vernon glared at owls.

She noticed that when Petunia gave Harry a truly horrendous haircut one year, it grew back in at a normal rate. Harry was uneven and weird-looking for ages, hiding under beanies when he could.

When Mrs. Figg had Harry over for carefully miserable afternoons of babysitting, she noticed nothing moved that shouldn’t. He didn’t accidentally make flowers out of fallen leaves, or levitate anything during tantrums, or turn toys funny colors.

Mrs. Figg called up her mother, interrupting the wizarding bridge game she was winning against the nursing home staff, and asked her how she had known, decades back, that her youngest daughter was a squib.

When Albus Dumbledore received Mrs. Figg’s letter he wrote back a polite thank you and then went to talk with Minerva McGonagall, who inhaled sharply in horror when he told her the news.

Finally, McGonagall gave a gathered sigh. “I suppose we can ask one of the wizarding families to homeschool him,” she said. “We can’t have the Boy Who Lived not knowing about his own world.”

“No, he’ll come to Hogwarts,” said Dumbledore.

“Hogwarts is not a place for–” Her voice fell. “–squibs, Albus.”

Dumbledore shook his head. “Harry must be taught.”

“Be taught what, Albus?”

But Dumbledore just sighed and offered her a lemon drop.

Years later, the owls and the letters came to 4 Privet Drive. The Dursleys ran, dragging Harry with them, and the letters and one stubborn gamekeeper followed– none of this would change with a magicless Harry.

When Hagrid asked Harry in that little cabin on that little rock in the middle of the sea if weird things always happened around him, Harry couldn’t tell him about vanishing glass and setting captive snakes free, about ending up somehow on the school roof, or growing his hair out overnight.

“Strange things always happen around you, don’ they?”

“Um,” said Harry, racking his brain. “Well… I live in a cupboard under the stairs…”

Harry could tell him about how snakes sometimes talked back, because that had never been Harry’s magic, but when he did Hagrid just blanched and changed the subject.

Hagrid held out hope, even against Dumbledore’s quiet warning explanations, until they made it to Ollivander’s Wands. Harry marveled at Diagon Alley, got his hands shaken in the Leaky, pressed his nose up against shop windows. Hagrid watched the scant boy– looked at James’s messy hair, Lily’s eyes, Harry’s own wandering gaze– and he wondered how this boy could be anything but magical.

In the wand shop, Ollivander said, “James Potter, yes… mahogany, eleven inches. Pliable. A powerful wand for Transfiguration.” He said, “And your mother, Lily…  strong in Charms work, ten and… yes, ten and a quarter, willow, swishy.”

Harry picked up stick after wooden stick. They remained just that– wood with bits of feather or scale or hair. Harry wondered if the creatures who gave these offerings were still alive– if they were given or taken. What did it do to your wand when they died? He waved a maplewood wand (unicorn hair, eleven inches) and a gust from the door opening blew some receipts off the counter.

“Well, said Ollivander. “I think that’s as close as we’re likely to get.”

He sent them out with the maplewood. Hagrid bought Harry a snowy owl and a fudge sundae and tried not make it too obvious that these were condolence gifts. The next day the Prophet’s headlines read: The Boy Who Lived– A Squib? Various magical medical experts weighed in on how it might have happened. Fingers were pointed at childhood trauma, at his upbringing, at his family lineage.

Harry still met Ron on the train– Ron was still smudge-nosed and Harry still bought enough candy to share. When Molly had helped him through the platform entrance, her voice had been a little softer, a little more pitying– but it was still better than the laughter that had been in his aunt and uncle’s voices when they dropped him here to find a platform they didn’t think existed.

Hermione Granger dropped by their compartment, looking for Neville’s toad, but got distracted when she spotted Harry. “I’ve read about you! In my books, and in the paper,” she said. “You’re the Boy Who Lived, and you’re a squib.”

Harry sank down in his seat. Ron hid Scabbers under a candy wrapper.

“Squibs have never been allowed in Hogwarts,” Hermione announced. “According to Hogwarts, A History, squibs try to sneak in now and then– the furthest anyone’s ever gotten is to the Sorting Hat before they got found out.” At eleven, Hermione still believed in expulsion being worse than death. Her voice was thrumming with sympathetic horror.

“But they already found out about me,” Harry said, alarmed.

“It’s alright, mate,” said Ron. “You’re Harry Potter. Oy, Granger,” he added. “What’s this Hat? Fred and George were trying to sell me some story about having to fight a mountain troll to get your House…”

Harry sat back and watched the countryside rush by. Yes, he was Harry Potter– his aunt’s useless sister’s useless child, the boy in the lumpy hand-me-down sweaters who named the spiders who lived in his cupboard. And here, in new world, he was apparently useless too.

When they got to Hogwarts, Harry clenched his fists and stood in line with the other first years. He barely twitched at the ghosts or Peeves, just stared ahead and thought about how far he would get before they turned him around and sent him back to Vernon and Petunia.

They opened the Great Hall doors. They called the first years one by one. Harry clenched his teeth and walked up to the Hat when they called his name.

As he turned to sit down on the stool, he really caught sight of the Hall for the first time– the hovering candles, the big wooden tables, the black robes that swallowed the light. Translucent ghosts gossiped with the students beside them. The paintings on the far walls– were they moving?

Harry’s jaw had unclenched, falling open. His fists curled open, curving around the stool’s seat as he leaned forward to stare. If this was it, if this was as far as he’d get in this world, then he wanted to drink it all in. The candles were floating, in mid-air.

The Hat dropped down over his eyes and blocked out the light.

Well, said the dry voice that had been hollering House placements all night. What do we have here?

Ron had been begging for not-Slytherin. Draco from the robes shop had been scornful of Hufflepuff, desperate in his disdain. Neville had begged for Hufflepuff, sure he was not brave enough for Gryffindor.

Please, thought Harry. Don’t send me back.

I have a confession... I don’t belong here.

I’m not usually one to to say how she feels, let alone write down how she feels, but recent events have made it hard to hide where I’m at, so I thought I’d take a page from my good friend’s book and lay it all out here. To see if it helps.

Over the last few months really exciting things have been happening. Some things you know about, some you don’t. Suffice it to say life is good. And I’m terrified. I am utterly a fish out of water. I am lost and confused. And no one knows it. My life used to be small. I was a sun flower in a small garden. I thrived on what water I had and was fine. Fine. ish. I wanted more. I pretended that I knew more than I did so that I wouldn’t seem like such and outsider to my peers. Fake it till you make it, right? I knocked down doors that were locked and found opportunities that were hidden away form me. I was succeeding at the unimaginable. And then I pushed. And I pushed. And I pushed. Until I found myself weeping from a broken back because I had been pushing at brick walls that wouldn’t budge. I’d pushed too hard. And I became so terrified that I would be discovered as a fraud that I became selfish and insensitive. All to conceal a devastating fact. I don’t belong here.

I grew up on a small farm. We as kids worked the farm to help out. My mother moved us around where she could find work when my father lost his eyesight. we struggled always but we survived. This isn’t meant to be a pity party. My folks are strong as fuck. My point is, none of this is supposed to happen to girls like me. I was just a girl who loved to make people laugh, who loved the theatre and was terrified of being invisible. But recent events have put me in a position where lack of anonymity is making my screw ups more prevalent to some. And its an awful feeling. I try really hard to appear to be a person that is supposed to live in this kind of situation I’m in, because I love it here. But the secret is, I have no idea what I’m doing. So I fuck up. And I perhaps come across as self-absorbed and opportunistic as a sad attempt to look mightier than the small town girl that I really am. This is my way of keeping people far enough away that they wont see the cracks in my armour.

Here’s my other big secret. I love a lot. Like A LOT. I cant help it. My attraction to good humans can not be harboured and I am not ashamed. You look at my phone and I generally have 7 text threads going on any given day. I want to know everything about you at all times. I want you to share your deepest passions and griefs with me. I wanna know you inside and out! Here’s the thing, I don’t like to let people love me. Fucked up right? I want to love you but I don’t want you to need me. Cause I’ll disappoint you and you’ll go away and then it’ll all be for nothing. If I’m really scared of your love i’ll be unemotional, or distant, or if you’re really lucky- I might even be mean.

Anyway this is my point: This exact life I’m living right now is a combination of my greatest dream and my most terrifying nightmare. I am not invisible and I can’t escape the love and the loving needs of others. I’m living a life that many including myself have only dreamed of. And I’m terrified that I’m just going to screw it all up.

So I’m writing this to let you know I’m going to work really really hard and do my absolute best to not fuck this up. Any of it. This is the steepest learning curve I’ve ever had in my life and I can no longer hide the fact that I feel in over my head. But stick with me, K? I’ll figure it all out really soon.

Thank you for everything that you’ve given me and the patience you continue to give me. I’m sorry if it seems like I’ve taken your love for granted. It’s actually just the opposite. I just didn’t want you to know ;)

Spirit Work Terms

These are some of the terms and definitions that I personally use. They change a lot as I get new info and I didn’t create any of the words lol. Other people have other definitions and I’m not trying to insinuate that mine are the “right” meanings. They’re simply just my thoughts on things.

Spirits: Funny enough, the hardest thing for me to define. I want to say anything that doesn’t exist in the physical realm, aka anything without matter. But there’s a difference between spirits and simply energy and that’s where things get fuzzy. Also, there’s a lot of things that don’t have matter that I wouldn’t consider spirits just because of that such as concepts like justice or things like heat (aka a non woo energy).

Etheric Copy: Also known as the “energy body”. This is actually more so a type of energy that makes up a spirit than the spirit itself but I felt it was worth mentioning. It applies to the spirit that lies within physical beings, living and nonliving and is the energetic form and feeling that their spirit takes. Sometimes the etheric copy isn’t an exact copy of the physical form where one’s etheric copy can have aspects of their astral form, such as wings on a human’s copy.

Entities: Living spirits that are still going about their lives. They can grow, have families, withdraw money from the bank, die, etc. They can be super complex beings or just simple, mindless creatures. The important things are that they can still age and that they don’t have physical bodies.

Ghosts: The spirits of the dead, whether they were originally physical or not. These are the spirits that you’d meet from the bones and remains of earthly organisms but you can also meet ghosts from entities that have passed. Usually hang out in graveyards, places that they used to live, or the respective netherworld of their culture. If you kill an entity, you might still need to deal with their ghost.

[Name] Guardian: A spirit that encompasses many other spirits. For example, a “species spirit” which is a spirit of an entire species of organism, not just an individual, would fall under this. (They aren’t literally made of the individuals that fall under them). I also just sometimes write the name in all caps like COFFEE for Coffee Guardian.

Nonliving Spirits: The spirits of objects. These can have an etheric copy if working with physical objects but it also applies to objects in the nonphysical worlds. Usually are dormant and need an energy input to be “awakened”. They usually like to do what they were made for, examples being hammer spirits that like to hammer, lamps that like to be turned on, etc. On the other hand, some nonliving spirits have the strength of gods but their nonliving nature means that they’re not actively looking for worshipers or to strengthen their power like most true gods (Ex- the Sun and the Moon).

Demons: A “catch-all” term for the diverse group of spirits that usually live in the lower realms of the astral. They also usually work in “darker” magics but there’s some who are “lighter” and others who don’t do any magic. A lot of spirits with different names, appearances, cultures, personalities etc. fit under this broad classification. Think about how we use Kingdom Animalia to describe thousands of species that share only a few characteristics.

Gods: Strong entities with access to power levels and areas of the universe that are inaccessible to humans and other spirits. For example, humans can create life by using their personal will and energy (and perhaps that of spirit allies too) to make thoughtforms and the like whereas gods can create life (and free will from the get go) simply by using the energy from a life-creating domain of the universe. The more connections they have to these domains, the stronger they become. A lot of their strength also comes from worship and its many forms though not all gods are a part of a religion and not all gods interact with humans. They can also form different “aspects” which are like different versions of themselves that are usually influenced by the way their followers worship and work with them. They can create these without influence though it’s not as easy.

Servitors: Simple, mindless spirits that are created from a human’s (can be an entity’s too probably) will and energy. Programmed for one certain task and are fed through the creator’s energy aka their creator giving them attention. The creator can dismantle them and incorporate their energy into new servitors, back into themselves (not recommended), release their energy into the universe, or forget about them so that they disappear into the universe on their own. They lack a mind, free will, personality, emotions, etc. unless they’ve gone rogue. A rogue servitor is one that their creator no longer has full control over and no, that’s not a good thing.

Thoughtforms: Essentially the same thing as a servitor but they’re usually more complex with thoughts, feelings, minds and potentially more than one task programmed into them. Just like servitors, they’re dependent on their creator for food but a properly made thoughtform would have another food source that they can rely on. Initially, they lack knowledge beyond what their creator already knows and free will, however, through experience and interactions with others they can gain both of those things. The only way to know if a TF truly has free will is if they go against the task they were programmed for (a companion TF no longer wants to be a companion, a guardian TF no longer feels the need to guard what they were instructed to, etc.). When they have completed their task, they can be “put to rest” and released into the universe or released as an independent being since they do have the other food source. They can also go rogue if they become independent without their creator’s “permission” and can be dangerous to the creator and others depending on how they gained their independence (*cough* abused/neglected TFs ).

Egregores: Spirits that are created from the will and energy of multiple people. Pop-Culture spirits are the most obvious example but egregores can be created by a small group of people like a coven or just a bunch of friends too. Like thoughtforms and servitors, they are fed by attention and smaller egregores can die if they aren’t given enough attention and don’t have an alternative food source. I find that similar to gods, these usually have “aspects” with different facets depending on how many people were involved in their creation (the more people, the more aspects). They’re more powerful than thoughtforms.

Godforms: Human-created gods. Usually come from extremely successful egregores that obtained the attention and energy of many, many people. I’d say characters like Pikachu or Harry Potter have reached this level or perhaps even the spirit of the USA or McDonald’s. They can also be intentionally created gods like if a group of people began worshiping a being as if they were a god. While egregores are usually controlled in some form by the people that created them, godforms are completely independent and no longer require their attention just to exist. But just like gods, more attention means more power so they probably seek out more “followers” by trying to expand their influence. I don’t know for sure if they have connections to the exclusive domains of the universe that regular gods have but I can see things like the USA godform gaining access to the same domains that war gods have or Pikachu being connected to an electricity domain like Zeus is. Some would argue that all gods are actually godforms but I don’t know enough about the nature and origins of gods to make that judgement. (I’ve seen “megregore” used as a term for a godform that isn’t “religiously” worshiped but I personally don’t differentiate the two).

Hi love! What would you say the top ten sterek fics you've ever read are?

This was REALLY HARD. Mainly bc it’s hard to choose only 10. Because I’m leaving off some great fics (which is why there are more than 10 on here :3)! And some I get mixed up bc I read them so long ago and near each other. (You can always browse my fave fic list here) But I’ve narrowed it to this list. These are the fics that really left impressions on me. They’re all amazing and deserve to be read and loved!!! So…have a TOP 27 FAVE STEREK FICS list :DDDD

1. Cry Havoc by ladyblahblah

In Beacon Hills, the two-year war that’s been raging between werewolves and hunters has begun spilling over onto the civilian population. Meanwhile, in Boston, when the tattoo on Stiles Stilinski’s back is damaged on a late-night hunt he begins to have dreams that lead him across the country, drawn by an inexplicable conviction that he’s needed there. When he discovers that Derek Hale began the war after his mate was killed, Stiles finds himself being offered a strange deal: figure out how to bring the alpha’s mate back, and peace talks can begin.

2. Where the Inevitable Isn’t by Survivah

Stiles has a magical thingamajig that’s supposed to get him out of danger. Trouble is, it took him really, really far out of danger. Like, to the point where he isn’t in the same universe anymore.

“A part of Stiles had been thinking that he’d come home, and just go, ‘hey, Derek, are we mates and you just haven’t said anything about it?’ and Derek would reply, ‘now you mention it, we are indeed! Now come to my bedchamber, where we will have super hot sex and then cuddle after!’”

3. Pack Up; Don’t Stray by the_deep_magic

AU – Werewolves are an enslaved underclass, collared and tagged by human masters. Detective Stilinski’s on duty the night they bring in an untagged stray.

4. Our Memories Are Numbered by rufflefeather

Stiles’ Jeep grinds to a halt, he sees someone running through the rain, he’s not expecting it to be Derek. He’s not expecting a Derek without any memories either, or an Alpha pack that’s coming for all of them. He probably should’ve, because lately nothing goes the way he expects.

5. Ad Astra Per Tentaculum by morganoconner

Space contains a multitude of different species, and Derek has seen and helped a lot of them in his time taking down branches of the slave-trade organization. But this is the first time he’s seen an Aloshrivnik. It’s not the tentacles that draw him in; it’s the goddamn eyes that stare at him without backing down.

“Stiles,” it says to him. “My name is Stiles.”

6. Part of My Melody by hayesgeneration

Derek is a professional classical musician who has found himself lost without a muse, without goal and without even a hint of spark. He’s almost settled nearly contently (if not slightly unwillingly) on having to live his life as a recluse, when his sister finally grows tired of his antics, giving him a Christmas ultimatum.

7. Littlest Alpha by triedunture

Derek and Stiles have taken out the Alpha Pack and pretty much saved the world. Okay, the town. Okay, their remaining friends. But the Alphas left something behind: a baby. And this baby is an Alpha too. Derek is determined to take care of the abandoned child, and Stiles is stuck going along for the ride.

But Stiles doesn’t expect the ride to include seeing another side of Derek, or to find another way to say “family.”

8. Holding Your Own Weight by zjofierose

Stiles Stilinski is the best trapeze artist west of the Mississippi, but that doesn’t do him much good without a catcher. Enter one quiet roughneck who calls himself Derek and knows maybe a little too much about circus arts for someone who was hired to schlep tents. But Derek has his secrets, and so does the new girl, Allison. Who’s being hunted and who’s being haunted, and will Stiles ever be able to convince Derek to help him fly again?

WARNING: LONG POST ABOUT A CARAT’S LOVE FOR SEVENTEEN. IT’S THEIR ANNIVERSARY AND THE FEELS ARE JUST TOO MUCH

I never thought this would happen.

I  never thought I would just  ‘Slip into the Shining life’

I never thought I would be a  Carat.

I fist discovered Seventeen with Adore U, their debut. But at that point I had only joined the kpop fandom for a few months and only liked older groups. I thought ‘how can someone Stan young groups?’ And so many of them…. I just learnt the names of Exo and Super Junior, how will I learn them too?!’

He couldn’t be Dean’s little brother. Dean’s little brother was all limbs, a lanky, gangly kid; he had puppy-dog eyes and hand-me-down band tees.

The person in front of you, though… this tall, strong, gorgeous man, couldn’t be Sammy.

Apparently there's already some controversy regarding the new Sleepless Night video. Any thoughts? Do you think it's appropriate for others to speculate this video as a staged attempt at damage control (for Dan's liveshow I'm assuming)? Or is this getting out of hand and considered a breach in their privacy if this actually is a boundary they're trying to reestablish through the video?

here are my thoughts in summary:

1. it’s not a stretch by any means to imagine phil made this video as a response to the things that were spotted in dan’s live show. maybe not, it’s impossible for us to know, but it’s not unreasonable to think that, because a lot of the speculation was happening in their main tumblr tags and their twitter mentions, and we know they regularly check all of those.

2. if he did in fact make this video as a response to all of the theorizing then it does seem like they would like their sleeping situation and bedroom situation to remain ambiguous on face. that’s not anything new, that’s the way things have always been. what it does do, at least for me, is raise questions about whether the things dan let us see last tuesday weren’t meant to be seen. perhaps he truly made a mistake, and if that makes anyone feel anything but sad on their behalf idk what to tell you. dnp are fully at liberty to go to whatever lengths they need to maintain their privacy and protect what is important to them. i don’t view any amount of ‘staging’ or stretching of truths as being insincere or inauthentic when the objective is self-preservation and protection.

3. there is nothing wrong with speculating about phil’s reasoning in making this video. we’re people who watch phil and are utilizing the information he has given us and the information dan gave us last week to come to certain conclusions or at least discuss possible explanations for their behavior. that’s not immoral or invasive. it’s just discussion, it’s what keeps fandom going, it’s what keeps dnp in a job.

4. in fact i’d go so far as to say that all of the posts today about how dramatic and invasive the fandom is are a little unnecessary and over the top. there’s nothing new about people discussing dnp’s sleeping situation. bedgate has been a tag on my blog for months. it’s been a conversation over and over and over again since dnp have lived together. there was the tour bus last year, the australia ditl, the japan ditl the year before. phil himself weighed in on that last one. it’s a never-ending conversation (to the point that it’s almost boring lol). in the case of this week’s bedroom conversations, people were reacting to dan himself showing us things in his live show. it’s not like anyone was discussing information that was found through illicit means, nobody that i saw was empowering anyone to do anything shady. they were talking about things that were put out into the public by dan himself, whether mistakenly or intentionally. i think it’s unrealistic to expect everyone to pretend like they just didn’t see what dan let all of us see repeatedly? insofar as people’s discussions don’t dig up information that dnp have hidden or don’t want known, i don’t see how any of it is in any way invasive. like, idk. respect each other enough to realize that most ppl here have dnp’s best intentions in mind and that all of us to one degree or another spend a chunk of our lives thinking/speculating about what they’re up to. there’s litro no point in accusing a whole fandom that’s hundreds of thousands of people strong of partaking in toxic behaviors when the base logic there is that any discussion of their personal lives is an overstep and an intrusion. that’s just an untenable position,, it makes all of us guilty merely for having a passing curiosity about dnp’s real lives. instead of the accusatory posts and the anger, the ‘omg 2012 again!’ and the easy use of words like ‘toxic’ ‘disgusting’ etc., if you see someone doing some shit you think is out of line, just message them. tell them to untag things you think are breaching boundaries, have some conversations. i’ve done this like 10 times just in the last week. it has always worked. try it! ppl generally aren’t trying to make dnp feel pressured, not trying to force them to come out or any of these awful things. they may just not connect their own actions to these consequences, they might be ignorant of how dnp interact with tumblr, etc. etc.

5. all of this talk about the fandom’s invasiveness, in my opinion, undermines dnp’s power and control over these situations. no matter how much speculation fans and viewers partake in, dnp are ultimately the ones who have control over how they present themselves and no amount of talking on our blogs or yelling in caps lock on twitter takes that power away from them. they have the upper hand.

6. that doesn’t mean people should have free rein of course or that invasiveness in this fandom doesn’t exist. i just mean that i haven’t seen it much in this particular week, about this particular issue. but if this is a case of dan having made some mistakes or phandom being a lot more observant than he banked on, then dnp have a right to try and reset the narrative, as i stated above. a lot of the posts people have been making have been about how people shouldn’t talk about the bedrooms anymore, especially in the main tags, youtube comments, direct twitter mentions, etc. i agree with this. people can and will do what they want, ultimately, and as i said before dnp innately have the power in this situation, but i believe that to respect them as human beings is to respect the expectations that they directly or indirectly set for us. i believe phil’s video was a way of directly reinforcing that he would like to present their situation in this specific light, and if we respect him, then we respect that narrative. there should be nothing satisfying in catching them out in a “lie” because they’re not trying to fool us. they don’t take pleasure in misleading us. they’re just protecting themselves, protecting their privacy, protecting their ability to live freely and to separate their personal lives from their work, and i don’t know how anyone could argue that they don’t deserve to have that.

______

Greek Gods. Stories of myth and legend. Almighty, immortal beings that serve as judges to the world as we know it. Could begin and start a life at the snap of a finger. Because of their immense power they try and keep from interactions with mortal humans. Yes they try, but what happens when they do not succeed? What happens if one grows affectionate with a human? What happens if they have children?

Questions all too known to humans who believe in these Gods and Goddesses. But questions all too answered for their offspring. Demigods inhabit this Earth, part God part human, half bloods. Relics to some and freaks to others.

Wandering prey if they’re unaware of their heritage, prey to those who despise the Gods and the reign they have had for eons. Unable to get to the Gods themselves, these villains target the offspring. The mortal offspring.

That is why the creation of the ‘Camp of the Gods’ was created. A safe place for demigods and goddesses. A place for them to grow, to accept their abilities and heritage.

The camp is hidden, tucked away in a forest away from civilization. The only people who know about it are the League and demigods and goddesses who have trained there. The League is a group of trained demigods and goddesses who save endangered half bloods. They bring them to the camp before villains can harm them. This is where demigods learn to harness and control their abilities.

It’s where you live. You’ve been at the camp since you were 12. Having lost her to one of those monsters, you were left on your own. In your mother’s final moments she told you who you are. Who your father is. Saying you must find a case hidden within your home and run away. That’s when the hunting began. However the League came to your rescue.

When they saved you, you were brought back to the camp. Where your father claimed you during the claiming ceremony. A claim that stunned every member of the league and every demigod in the camp.

You are the Princess to the Gods, the Daughter of Zeus.

As of today, you have become one of the strongest demigods, strong enough to become a part of the league. However, you had different intentions. The camp had become your home, the only home you’ve known for 7 years. Leading to your decision to stay and protect it in case any harm were to come to its defenses. Having both training from being on your own and training from the camp, there was no one better suited.

The camp is safe. It’s where untrained demigods and goddesses belong.

…However. Not everyone believes that.

Jason was not entirely fond of Bruce making him move to this camp. Him and the Outlaws could handle themselves, the last advice he took from Bruce led to proving Jason’s mortality. It was through the power of his mother, Athena, that brought him back. After that he vowed to take care of himself from then on.

Though, on their last mission to take down a villain target, there was a mishap that almost led to them and the half blood they were saving losing their lives, putting a target on their backs in the process. After that close call, the League demanded they all move to the camp. Where they would be safe and things could calm down. Villains often would draw targets but forget about them within a good few months. Finding new prey to stalk.

Kori and Roy were rather excited to be coming to the camp. They always wanted to know more about their immortal parents and even form some sort of relationship with them.

They eagerly stood outside the magic barrier that camouflages the camp. Jason standing there annoyed with his arms crossed. Bruce came up next to the three, “Are you ready?” Kori and Roy grinned while Jason simply huffed before Bruce led the way. They were in awe as the camp revealed itself once passing the barrier.

They approached the gate, being greeted by the sound of metal clanging and bows strings stretching, the yelling and talking of half bloods. Jason winced at the sight, this is NOT what he wanted. “Welcome to the Camp of the Gods” Bruce observed the three.

He watched as their eyes scanned over the place. His falling on three members coming their way. Noticing Dick, the first demigod he saved. “New Recruits, and Bruce what a surprise.” Dick greeted cheerily. Jason’s scowl only grew, great now he has to deal with the golden boy too? Dick’s eyes fell on Jason, “Jason, I see you’re finally joining the camp.”

“Yeah, well, not of my own volition” he bit back. However, Dick is used to Jason’s short temper, he knows Jason’s reluctance will pass with time.

“Anyway, who have you brought with you?” His attention turned to the two others. “I’m Roy and this is Kori.” Roy introduced the both of them. “A pleasure to meet you both. I’m Richard, or Dick as I prefer. Son of Apollo.”

Next the redhead beside him spoke up, “I’m Wally, Son of Hermes” pointing to himself.

The last one to speak was the girl on the other side of them both, “I’m M’gann, Daughter of Persephone. We’re kind of your welcoming committee. We will be showing you the camp and answering any questions you might have.” She smiled kindly at the three.

“I will leave you three in their hands. I have to get back to work.” Bruce said before turning and exiting the camp.

“If you three will follow us we can start the tour of the camp” M’gann smiled while gesturing for them to follow. Roy, Kori, and Jason did so, listening to the information they were being given. Being shown the dining hall, cabins, stables, camp borders, armory, and finally the training grounds.

When approaching the training grounds they noticed a group formed and the sound of swords clashing. Coming upon the scene they saw two people sparring. Continuously lunging and blocking the other’s attacks. It was graceful, like a sort of forbidden dance. Both swordsmen, or swordsman and swords-woman, were highly skilled. Proving how fighting is an art form, not brute strength.

Jason especially noticed the abilities and gracefulness of the demigoddess. He was infatuated by the way you moved; tactically yet instinctively. Noticing how you could see three moves ahead of your opponent. [H/c] hair tied back as your [e/c] stayed locked on your opponent, gaze never faltering for a second. The opponent a taller, tan, male with blonde hair and green eyes. He looked strong and moved just as tactically but it didn’t look as though it came as naturally for him.

“Who is that?” Jason asked looking over at Dick, catching the attention of the others. “The man is Kaldur’ahm, Son of Poseidon. Prince of the Sea some have come to call him. He’s one of the strongest warriors in this camp. The woman, [F/n] [L/n], Daughter of Zeus. Princess of the Gods. The strongest demigoddess and warrior in the camp. Both highly skilled and highly fatal.” Dick explained, eyes not leaving the match. Jason nodded before directing his attention back to the fight.

Before Jason could analyze their movements any further, it all came to an abrupt halt. You had a boot on Kaldur’ahm’s chest, sword pulled up over your shoulder in a striking position. Both panting before a grin broke out on your lips. “I win” you muttered before pulling back offering a hand to him. “Still the most skilled warrior in the camp.” He stated calmly.

“That was amazing!” one of the younger demigods smiled, who stood just in front of the newcomers. Your eyes fell on them all. “So you’re the new recruits” calling to them. Waving them over, “Front and center” tapping the ground with your sword. The three came and stood where you tapped. Swinging the sword to rest it on your shoulder while turning to look at them. Standing there you looked them over, getting a feel for their physical type.

“Well as the formal protector of this camp, Welcome. As I’m sure M’gann, Dick, and Wally told you I’m [F/n] [L/n] and this is Kaldur’ahm. We both are here if you have any questions on your abilities or the camp itself. However from what Bruce and the rest of the League told me, you all have quite a handle on your abilities, and outside experience. So I ask you to behave yourselves and act as role models for the younger demigods and goddesses here because they WILL look up to you. As long as you all follow the rules and keep that in mind, we’re more than happy to have you here. And one last thing, this is a home. We are all family here, please, treat it as such.” Looking over the three, you saw the eagerness in two but the third was wearing an aura of skepticism.

You walked over to Jason, “Trust me this place isn’t as you feel it is. Give it a chance, give us a chance before you cast your verdict. What I’m saying is lighten up, relax, learn. We might surprise you.” laughing while placing the sword hilt in his hands. Backing away you looked at them all, “As much as I’d like to stay, I have other things to attend to. I will see you all at the claiming ceremony.” Announcing before smiling at them all and nodding before making your leave.

“Claiming ceremony?” Kori asked looking at their three tour guides. Wally was the first to speak up. “It’s where your parent will claim you as their child, proving your heritage as a demigod and who your parent is. Then the camp will act and train you accordingly.” he explained. Them all nodding in understanding.

“Anyway there is a lot more camp to show you and people for you to meet before the ceremony. Let’s continue” Dick smiled before M’gann nodded and began to lead the way once more.

Though Jason was distracted by the words you spoke to him while analyzing the sword in his hands. The words ringing in his head ‘What I’m saying is lighten up, relax, learn. We might surprise you.’ How could he relax? Half of him kept reminding how he’s in a strange, unknown place, surrounded by other demigods. Though the other side of him wanted to train and take the chance to do as told. To trust.

simon shows up to the flat with a black eye and a cut lip, refusing to talk about what happened, so a worried penelope asks baz to come over (or the one where simon’s insecure, and baz is terrible at comforting his dragon boyfriend)

a/n: @cherryonsimon is the greatest beta and y’all should go tell her nice things :D

for day three of @snowbaz-feda!!

Penelope

The door to the flat swings open and Simon barrels his way inside. I gasp when I see him: his shirt is torn with flecks of red (Is that blood?) splattered around the neckline; his hair looks dirty and matted, like he’s been rolling around on the ground; and there’s a definite limp in his step. After slamming the door shut, he winces and grabs his wrist, and that’s when I notice his eye.

“Fuck a nine-toed troll, Simon! What happened to you?”

He won’t look at me and the expression on his face is one I haven’t seen in a long time. It frightens me a bit, but it’s still just as important to me that Simon knows I’m not afraid of him, so I take a step forward. He recoils and pushes past me towards his room, slamming the door once inside, making me flinch.

The sound reverberates through the living room before plunging the flat into absolute silence. It’s horrible.

After taking a moment to collect myself, I walk towards his room, hesitating a beat before knocking. “Simon?” No answer. I try again, knocking louder this time, but he still won’t answer. I try turning the knob, but it’s locked. Chewing on my lip, I consider spelling it open, but that would be breaking unspoken roommate rules, so I do the only thing I can think of right now.

I ring Baz.

Baz

I’m sitting in an evening lecture when my mobile starts to vibrate. It’s on the desk and the noise makes a few of my fellow students turn around and stare. I sneer at them (old habits), and look to see who’s calling.

It’s Bunce.

It’s not that we aren’t close enough to call each other, it’s just that we never do. The fact that she has, and especially during a time she knows I’m at school, makes my blood run cold. I’m so distracted with worry that I forget to move the desk over, and when I go to stand it pins me to the chair. Cursing loudly–and drawing even more curious eyes–I slam the damned piece of wood out of the way, and stalk out of the hall.

I manage to answer on the last ring.

“Baz?” Bunce’s voice sounds strange through the speaker, like she’s trying not to cry, “can you come over? Something’s happened with Simon.”

I drop the phone and it shatters on the pavement.

Penelope

For the second time tonight, the door to the flat swings open. Only this time it’s Baz who practically falls through, righting himself at the last minute. He looks like he ran the entire distance between school and the flat. The screen of the mobile he’s clutching is shattered, something I don’t remember seeing before. Is that my fault?

“B–” I don’t even get a chance to say his full name when he marches towards me, our difference in height making itself known as he towers over me. (In reality it’s only several inches.) (It feels like miles.)

“Where is he?”

I point to Simon’s room and Baz nods. I wish I could tell him what happened, but I don’t exactly know myself. I just know I can’t fix this alone.

Baz

The smell of blood hit me as soon as I entered the flat and it only gets stronger the closer I get to the bedroom.

Snow’s door is locked, so I cast when one door closes. It works, and the one in front of me opens wide. I can’t see anything at first; Snow’s drawn the curtains shut and even turned out the light in the en suite, drowning the room in darkness. I use my mobile to guide me towards his bed and the red lump that I assume is my boyfriend.

“Snow?” I ask, biting my lip. Perhaps I should use his first name, given the situation, but I try and reserve that for when I really need it, like when we’re being soft. Or when I want him to know I’m afraid. “Snow?” I try again and the lump doesn’t move, but it does yelp when I poke it with the tip of my wand.

“Go away,” I hear him mumble, but I know he doesn’t mean it. (The door spell wouldn’t have worked if he hadn’t wanted to let me in.)

I square my shoulders. “No.” I need Snow to tell me what happened and I’ll stand here all night if I have to. This must occur to him, because he lifts his head.

My breath catches when I see his black eye and bloody lip. I reach out to touch them, pulling my hand back at the last minute.

“What happened to you?”

He shrugs and I want to strangle him.

“Don’t you fucking dare.” I snap.

“I got in a fight on my way home.”

“No shit.”

“There were 3 or 4 guys; I don’t remember. They wanted my wallet, but I’d forgotten it at work and they weren’t very happy about that.”

I try to stop myself from picturing the scene in my head. Snow on the ground, surrounded by these men, being hurt by these men. Snow. Defenseless. I can’t process it.

Although he hasn’t held that title in a long time, Snow will always be the chosen one to me; seeing him so broken and defeated over something like this is overwhelming. He’s supposed to be strong, he’s supposed to be brave, he’s supposed to save the world. He’s supposed to be able to save himself.

This isn’t the first time I’ve seen Simon beaten and bloody, but it’s the worst time. It’s not that his injuries are severe (they really aren’t), it’s just that…

This wasn’t supposed to happen any more. We were supposed to disguise as regular Normals and live our happily ever after; nothing bad was supposed to touch us again.

Then he goes and gets himself mugged. It’s so horribly mundane, so insignificant next to every creature and task he’s taken on, yet this is the thing that breaks him. I’m furious on his behalf. I want to hurt the people who hurt him.

I swallow. “What happened next?”

“I tried–I tried to call–my sword…but–”

“It didn’t come.” I don’t even bother phrasing it as a question. I can’t believe this, “you were going to try fighting off a bunch of thugs with a sword? Are you daft?”

He looks miserable. “I was distracted by that long enough to give them a chance to jump me, and, well…” he rolls his hurt wrist and I catch it between my fingers, pulling my wand from my pocket with my other hand. He grits his teeth as I cast get well soon, listening for the crack that signifies it worked. I bring his now healed wrist to my lips and kiss it, feeling his pulse thumping under my lips.

Snow clenches his hand into a fist and I drop his arm, looking up at his face and hating what I see there. The healing spell had taken care of his eye and lip, but that lip is quivering now, and fat tears are beginning to rolls down his cheeks. He squeezes his eyes shut and starts gulping air, his arms wrapped around his knees and head bowed.

I want to reach out and touch him; make this better, make this go away, make him stop. I want to make him stop. He’s almost sobbing now and I don’t know what to do. I have to stop this.

“Shut up, Simon! Just shut up!”

His head snaps up and he looks at me as if I’ve slapped him. I almost feel like I have.

“What the fuck, Baz?” his breath catches on my name and I feel my heart sink just that much more.

I didn’t mean it. I want to apologize, but the words won’t come; they’re stuck in my throat and I clench my fists as I try to force them out. He’s still staring at me, his face etched in an angry frown, and I give up on speaking.

He watches me warily as I sit down on the bed and I flinch. The scent of blood is stronger now, and I can feel my fangs threatening to pop. I curse the fact that I haven’t fed recently and try to will them to stay put. The last thing I need to do is make the situation worse.

“I’m sorry,” I whisper and he blinks at me. “I’m sorry,” I repeat and his face crumples as he falls forward. I let him bury his face into my chest, let him clutch at my shirt, let his tears soak the fabric. I let him cry until he can’t anymore. His breathing is even and quiet now; and I’m relieved.

Simon

Baz pulls me close, pressing a kiss against my temple: once, twice, three times. I can tell he thinks I’m asleep, because he’s murmuring things he’d never let me hear otherwise. He’s calling me Simon and telling me he loves me and how scared he was and how brave and stupid I am.

He starts scratching lightly at the spot between my wings, the one he knows I love, and I’m melting into the mattress.

He somehow manages to press himself even closer, his breathing tickling my ear as he whispers, “you’re so bloody stupid, you know that? I don’t need a Chosen One; I don’t need a fairy tale; I certainly don’t need some self-sacrificing superhuman with a hero complex. I just want you, Simon Snow.” He stops to kiss my shoulder.

“I just want you.” It’s a reassurance and a promise. And I believe it.

I want you too, I think back at him, I want you too.

You're a super amazing writer, just FYI :) If you're still doing prompts, how about 39 for clexa?

Lexa stared down at the text message lighting up her screen in the dark, stared and stared until her vision began to blur. Her heart was stuck in her throat, had been now for going on twenty hours. She’d spent the entire day in bed, skipping her two Tuesday classes and sacrificing a shower in exchange for a snotty pillow, soft blanket, and Grey’s Anatomy reruns. Anyone who asked, though, was given a meticulously thought-out explanation of how she was out of town for the day, visiting the wildlife sanctuary three hours away for a research assignment. It wasn’t unbelievable. It wasn’t even a stretch. Lexa did such things occasionally for her conservation classes. But it was a lie.

At least she didn’t have to worry about a roommate. Being an RA could be a serious pain in the ass, but the single dorm it guaranteed her was a godsend. She had never liked having a roommate. She liked her space, needed her space. Her privacy.

She stared down at the words on her screen again, the last of a long string of text messages (forty-two, to be exact) sent between 10:32 the previous night and now.

I’m going to break into Vale. I swear to Moses, Lexa, I will do it.

Lexa rolled her eyes. Vale Hall was her dormitory, and Clarke didn’t have access. She didn’t even live on campus. She lived in an apartment across town. Lexa huffed a warm breath up toward her eyes. They had been cycling back and forth between too wet and too dry, and now, they were just tired. Her phone buzzed again, and she glanced back down.

I’ll steal Raven’s rock-climbing gear and scale the building.

With a sigh, Lexa flicked her thumb over the screen and scrolled up to read some of Clarke’s earlier messages again.

You know I hate the silent treatment.

Can we just talk about this? Please?

My stomach is in knots. I hate this. Please, talk to me.

It’s been like twelve hours. I didn’t sleep all night. I look like I just climbed out of a trash can. Talk to me.

Can I come over?

Ignoring me only makes me stronger, you know. I level up every time I see the little check mark saying you’ve read my messages but don’t respond. I’m going to hulk out if this goes on much longer.

I know you’re not really at the sanctuary. I can see your location on Snapchat.

Lexa had changed all her settings after that. No read receipts. No location access on her social media. It was a little extreme, but she just needed a day. This one day to be by herself, to feel her stupid feelings, and then to snap back to being herself. Strong. Steady. Secure. Stoic.

And absolutely, positively not in love with her best friend.

“I don’t want to ruin your moment but there’s nothing below us.”, Tony stated as he went closer to Steve and looked at the monitor.

“She must have activated the invisible shield so we cannot see her, but the ship is on the ground.”

The passengers put their seatbelts on while Steve landed the helicopter. Once they were outside,  the Avengers were greeted by the frightening view. Wanda looked away and covered her mouth, Steve just closed his eyes for a moment. Everyone was stunned.  Vision was the first one to reach the bodies of the dead children.

“I understood now why she had decided to come.”, Nobody else dared to speak. The grey and icy place filled with death and ash shouldn’t be disturbed.

“We better go.”, Clint broke the silence. Pointing out (Y/N)’s steps formed in the ash, the man led the avengers towards Hydra’s base.

“It’s all in my head. You are not real! You cannot be real!”, (Y/N) kept saying this out loud but more to herself rather than to the people in front of her.

“Oh, sweetheart. We are more than real.”, the woman couldn’t stop grinning but from what was hard to be said. She was sitting on a chair with her legs crossed and a file in her hands. She had shoulder long brown hair. Her face looked young, with sharp features and sleek skin. The only thing giving away the ages were the wrinkles on her neck. (Y/N) looked again at her, trying to believe what she had heard. Her brain was against all of this. It whispered her that everything was an illusion, a false reality she should not believe in but once she met those grey eyes of the woman she knew. She knew that that was the reality, that the woman and the man in front of her were indeed her…

“Family.”, the man spoke, “Our family is together again.”

“My parents died some months ago. I saw them being killed.”

“You think we would really do this!?”

“You can be our daughter but we won’t risk our lives and mission because of you.”, the woman, whose name was Amanda, informed the girl. Although the words hurt the witch, she gulped and tried to understand the whole situation.

“Then why did you do that? I don’t understand anything!”, finally the power of her voice came back, “Why was I locked here and tortured while you were able to stop it!?”, with each world, her tone was getting louder and louder.

“We didn’t want to.”

“Wha- ”, (Y/N) tried to protest, to shout, to cry, to do something but she couldn’t.

“I thought you could have at least inherited my intelligence but no. Just like your father. Never knowing what’s going on.”, Amanda stood up and went to a near table. It was far but the girl was still able to see what was on it – nothing good.

“The kidnap, it was all fake. We planned this for months and I’m happy it went well. I was scared the civilians would scream and try to help you but the money we gave to the soldiers was enough to stop the people. It’s amazing what money can do to humanity, don’t you think?”, her mother was still with her back towards the girl and (Y/N) wasn’t able to see what she was doing.

“Why did you bring me here? Why did you lie to me and did this thing?”

“You were, how old, six or seven? I can’t remember and I don’t care. Too young but still old enough to understand it. We are the leaders of this base, (Y/N)! We were given time and recourses to achieve our mission. Thinking about what would happen to you never occurred to me, to be honest. I thought only about the success. And when you were the only one showing a problem with your abilities I was obliged to do everything to unlock them.”

“Didn’t you feel sorry about doing this to me? To your daughter!?”, (Y/N) screamed and the floor shaken slightly due to her powers.  The woman laughed and turned around carrying and injection with a green substance in it.

“No.”, Amanda said calmly and sat on the chair opposite her child, “Torturing you was the only way to keep you alive. So you better thank me not blame me.”

“You should have let me die.”, (Y/N) calmed down her rage, “You have no idea how many times I wanted this. How many times I was so close to ending my life. And you could have stopped me only because you need me as a weapon. I desired to see you again, to hug you and hear the words ‘I love you’, to tell me that everything was fine and we could go.”

“You should stop living in such a fairy tale. Life isn’t like that.”, her father spoke which made the girl look at him. He had been here for the whole time and after the first seconds she had forgotten about him.

“You must look at the big picture not at the details. You are a weapon, my weapon and I will use you whatever it takes. When you escaped I hoped you have died somewhere so no one would understand about you being a failure. I didn’t want to lose my head because of you being a disgrace. But I was wrong.”, the woman stood again and start walking towards the girl. (Y/N) was moving in order to escape and get away from that person she was supposed to call mother, “You have no idea how blessed you are for being trained by the avengers. Now, your powers are raging inside you, ready to explode and ruin everything. I cannot miss such an opportunity, darling.”, Despite her soft hands, the grip on (Y/N)’s face was strong enough to make her stop moving. Seconds later the girl felt a strong pain in her neck as the injection had went though her skin. It didn’t take much until the liquid had reached her brain. The things in front of her were blurring and spinning. She blinked several times but it didn’t get better. The girl tried to use her powers but had no energy for that.

“What are you doing to me?!”

“Something we are very popular with – brainwashing.”, the envy smile was the last thing (Y/N) saw.

“Why aren’t there any guards?”, Peter asked as the avengers reached the base.

“I think they were occupied with (Y/N).”, Tony stated, “Jarvis scanned the building. Some are coming towards us but most are deep down probably protecting something, or somebody.”

“So, Clint, I, Tony and Bruce will make you a way and keep the agents occupied. You go.”, Nat announced.

The group waited until Iron man, Black widow, Hawkeye and Hulk cleared their way. Once it was done the others broke into the base without any problems. Steve and Vision took left, while Thor, Wanda and Peter took right. They were walking in silence as every one of them was immersed in their thoughts. Nobody was surprised by the fact Peter didn’t speak. They all knew how close they had become and the fact that Peter was in love with the girl. The avengers were so happy for them, especially Wanda and Tony. For Tony Peter was like a son. He loved him although he tried to cover it with his sarcasm as he tended to do. Wanda felt (Y/N) as her own sister and was glad to see her adapt with the avengers and slowly falling in love finally able to feel like a normal teenager with superpowers.

“Now…where?”, Thor questioned. They had three options – along, left or right.

“I’m for left.”

“You can sense her?”, Peter asked filled with hope but Wanda’s answer ruined his beliefs.

“No, Peter. See the mountain of bodies.”, Thor and Peter looked left and saw the whole corridor covered in blood and dead men.

Peter was shocked. ‘Had (Y/N) done that?’, he couldn’t believe what he saw and despite the view, he wasn’t going to give up on her. He knew she was dangerous but everyone needed to be shown a path of good and he was willing to give it to her.

“Let’s go, we are running out of time!”, Peter was running through the bodies not caring about them.  The little witch was the only thing in his head. Wanda and Thor kept up with him until they reached what they were looking for.

“It’s not working.”, an angry voice reached (Y/N)’s ears. She was in that condition when you are neither asleep nor awake. She was and wasn’t here. She knew she was under an opiate. It created so many illusions that kept her on the edge. Real and Surreal. What should she trust? She kept seeing Peter coming but not rescuing her. He had been telling her she was a monster, weapon, dangerous. That he was ashamed of her and he never meant the lovely things he had said. Deep inside she knew it wasn’t true but the words…He, real or not, was right. She was a killing machine, not deserving love, family, anything.

“Why isn’t it working, Samuel?”

“I – I don’t k-know.”, the man stuttered, “I tested it several times and it worked.”

“I need it to work on everybody! I will make it on my own.”, a sound of a gun shooting echoed through the room. It affected (Y/N) and she slightly opened her eyes for some seconds. The woman was nearing her carrying another injection in her hands.

“Calm down, darling. We are not finished, yet.”, Amanda was inches away from her when somebody started beating the door. The woman turned around and when she realized what was about to happen, she hurried to inject the girl. The needle was in her neck when the door broke and flew across the room. Amanda crouched in order to keep her face safe.

When Peter saw his precious girl tied on a chair looking dead and with an injection in her skin, he ran towards her. Taking the needle out he tried to bring her back.

“(Y/N), (Y/N)! Hey, listen to be sweetheart! I’m here, you are fine.”, but the girl was drugged and the effects of it weren’t disappearing that fast.

“Don’t you dare move!”, Wanda shouted. Peter turned around and saw a woman holding a knife and struggling to get out of Wanda’s magic hold.

“What have you done to her?”, Peter screamed at the woman but received a laugh. The boy turned around to face the girl and untied her.

“You can’t save her.”, the tone sent shivers down his spine. Something in the way she had said that made him believe the spoken. ‘No!’ He was going to save her, to protect and care about her and nothing was going to stop him from that. Peter took one of (Y/N)’s hands and put it on his shoulders trying to keep her up. As he was about to call Thor for help he saw him falling on the ground. Wanda loosened her magic grip on the woman with the knife in shock. The woman used this opportunity and stuck the cold weapon in his thigh. Screaming in agony, Peter lost balance and was going to fall on the ground but with the other leg he managed to stay up. (Y/N) groaned at those movements. Peter’s muscles were on fire. He had experienced worse things and holding a girl wasn’t supposed to be hard for him. As Peter was struggling with taking the knife away, Wanda was fighting with agents that had appeared without the three avengers noticing. Thor had been hit by a device that knocked him out. Using her powers, Wanda was doing good but for now.

“Peter, hurry!”, but the boy’s scream made her look away. She saw that the woman had injured the spider-boy. Scarlet witch didn’t know what to do and the seconds it took her to decide, she felt her body paralyzing and falling on the ground.

Spiderman saw his two partners lying on the floor, (Y/N)’s body seemed heavier and heavier with each minute passing.

“Peter.”, (Y/N) murmured and tried to open her eyes but still in vain.

“Karen…help.”, but the voice in his suit wasn’t answering him.

“I told you boy.”, the woman that had attacked him was now in front of him and grinning with satisfaction, “The knife was poisoned, that’s why you are feeling so weak.” , Peter found it hard to breathe and stay up.

“We-”, he spoke but fell on his knees dropping the girl’s body, “escape.”

“I don’t think so. Tie them!”, Amanda shouted at the soldiers around her. The four superheroes’ bodies were being dragged while the (Y/N)’s mother was muttering something.

“What would be better that having the avengers as our own bitches?”

soulmateˈsəʊlmeɪt/

noun

  1. a person ideally suited to another as a close friend or romantic partner.

That was one of the many definitions of it. There were too many definitions to count.

Some say that when you meet your soulmate, it’s just - it’s a feeling. It’s hard to describe that profound, lingering feeling you get when you do, but you just know it.

Some say soulmates might not even get the chance to meet. Your soulmate just might be a person from you past life, and the only way to witness their presence is through flashbacks of your past.

Some say two soulmates make a whole. Mentally, emotionally, physically - quite literally all aspects of both sides - are compatible. The two sides complete each other and understand each other, making the other feel a sense of ease and comfort like never before.

The list could go on forever with the millions of definitions that varied from one person to the other, each according to their own view on the subject.

You, however, chose to reject them all. You could never fathom the idea that there’s this person somewhere in the world who was completely and wholly made for the sole purpose of being with you. Who was so compatible with you and you two would live the whole ‘happily ever after’ you always heard about through stories. It was too absurd of an idea.

You didn’t reject the idea of loving someone - of being in love with someone. Oh no, you weren’t that type of person. You just knew that, just like any normal relationship, if you two found that everything was going well, you would stay together. If not, you would break it off.

It was of valid reasoning. You weren’t one to ‘feel that spark as soon as you met eyes with a guy’ and claimed it to be love at first sight. You weren’t one to just babble on about him being the one just because you two happened to be at the same cafe at the same time three times a week. You weren’t one to break up with someone because you simply didn’t feel that spark you were ‘supposed’ to feel with your one and true significant others.

You lived your life like any normal person would, choosing not to get sucked in to people’s silly beliefs and myths that had been passed down generations and generations.

The most common soulmate myth was one you found completely and utterly ridiculous. The moment one is born, a rose - well, a dead rose - is given to the parents of the infant. This dead rose is kept and protected by the parents for their child, until the time comes for he or she to take responsibility of that rose themselves.

Supposedly, this rose is dead and completely lifeless, up until the moment your soulmate enters your life. The rose will slowly start to bloom back, the redness of its petals spreading out, and the green of its stem growing back. It was a slow process. The closer you got to each other, and the more you got to know them, the more beautiful and lively it became.

What made this idea even more absurd and harder to believe was the fact that the two soulmates would be the only ones able to see this lifeless flower come back to life.

Huh, you would scoff, and that’s the day that pigs would fly.

Unfortunately for you, your mother was a strong and true believer of such things, and she was adamant on proving herself right and you wrong. Both your parents even had the roses their parents had given them in a small vase near the kitchen window, providing them light and water, with love and care.

“Mom, dad, come on. They’re dead.”

Your parents would only shake their heads and sigh, muttering things about you changing your mind someday, and finally see what they were seeing.

They made you promise not to throw away your rose. And despite you knowing there was nothing on this earth that would change your mind about this, you respected and kept that promise. No matter what, your rose was there on your nightstand, a constant reminder that - yep, pigs haven’t flown yet.

“Hey, can you come over?”

The simple sentence you said to Yoongi over the phone, with the soft tone that you rarely ever used with him, told him something was definitely wrong.

“I’m off work in five minutes. I’ll be there in fifteen tops,” he replied before you hung up. He sighed and leaned back in his chair, checking his watch before deciding that he could take his boss chewing his ass out for leaving a few minutes earlier. He got up from his chair, grabbed his jacket, and quickly made his way out before anyone could notice and stop him.

He was at your apartment building in about ten minutes. After parking his car, he quickly made his way up the two flights of stars, not bothering to wait for the small, shitty elevator. It was too cramped and stuffy anyways. He definitely wasn’t going in there when he saw that guy from your third floor who seemed to always have sweat stains underneath his armpit on every single shirt he wore.

He soon forgot all about that when he knocked on your door once, before realizing that you probably left the door unlocked for him anyways. He managed to remember to take his shoes off at the door and then made his way to your living room.

He found you sat there, TV on, but considering the blank look on your face, he was pretty sure your focus was nowhere near the National Geographic channel. He quietly made his way to the couch and sat down next to you, and you turned to him with a small smile that he knew didn’t reach your eyes.

“Hey.”

“Hey.”

You sighed,

Yoongi wasn’t the cuddliest of people, it was clear to anyone with a functioning pair of eyes. But when he saw you, his dear friend whose usual bright smile was wiped away and replaced with a look so sad, it made his heart clench. So he always made exceptions for you. He simply lifted his arm, wordlessly inviting you closer, and you accepted it immediately, scooting closer and resting your head on his chest.

“What happened?” His hand placed itself on your hair, fingers softly soothing down some strands.

“They fired me today.” Your voice was quiet. Yoongi’s hand paused for a second before continuing its movements. He got the feeling you didn’t want to talk about it too much considering your short answer, so he let you be, but not before he said one last thing.

“You know I don’t sugarcoat anything. I know this seems bad right now, and it is, but don’t let this fuck everything over for you. I’ll help you through this, you know that.”

You stayed quiet but moved closer to him, wrapping an arm around his waist. His words comforted you a little bit, knowing he was always there for you no matter what. You were still worried, sad, angry, frustrated. But you just wanted to stay quiet for a bit, deciding you would think about this properly later.

“So I was at the club yesterday,” Yoongi said from his place on the kitchen table as he ate a bowl of cereal. You stood in front of the sink, washing the few dishes you had there just to get it out of the way. “Namjoon told me they were short on staff.”

“Really?” You tone was surprised.

“Yeah, you should try working there.”

The idea of working in a club never once crossed your mind. You’ve been looking for a job for a week, applying almost anywhere you found suitable enough, but to no avail. It seemed you were going to have to settle for something outside of your desired job areas for a little while, considering you were already short on money, and the rent wasn’t gonna pay itself.

“Maybe I should..” You sighed. “Maybe we can go there tomorrow night? That way I can talk to Joon and we can have a little night off. You can tell Hobi to come too, if you want.”

“Alright, sure.”

The following night, after spending most of your afternoon looking up job vacancies is magazines or papers or anything even remotely related, you gave up with a sigh and closed your laptop.

You decided to let loose a little tonight considering your recent stress and everything. You dressed up, did your hair, looked yourself in the mirror with one last approving glance before you made your way out the door and to Yoongi’s car that was waiting for you downstairs.

“Lookin’ good, __,” Hoseok complimented you as soon as you got in the backseat, turning to give you a bright smile that reminded you why you always loved having him around to lighten the mood.

“Thanks Hobi,” you replied and leaned forward to kiss his cheek. “It’s been a while.” Yoongi started up the car after you greeted him as well and drove off to the club.

“It has. Tonight’s all about having fun yeah? You already know the job’s yours, so relax and forget about everything tonight.”

You nodded at his words, determined to make use of his advice. You were pretty sure Namjoon would accept having you as an employee. You’ve worked in clubs before. You were a college student in the past, and your student loans had you bartending for a long time in some clubs and pubs to help pay them off.

Tonight should be fun for you. You wanted to make sure of it.

And you were true to your word. As soon as you took a table, the drinks started coming, giving you that buzz and chill vibe that you craved and needed for the night. Yoongi sat back in his seat, a small smile on his lips as he watched you laugh with Hoseok, drinks in hands and singing together obnoxiously loud to the music, occasionally turning and directing the lyrics to him as he shook his head jokingly.

“I wanna dance!” You yelled over the music. Hoseok got up without hesitation, grabbing your hand and pulling you to the dance floor, moving his body to the beat already. You turned to Yoongi with a genuine smile, clearly enjoying your night so far, and he smiled back, before he disappeared from your vision when you were drowned into the crowd of dancing bodies.

It seemed like you two were dancing there or hours, when in reality, it had only been three songs.

“I’m gonna grab another drink, want anything?” Hoseok yelled in your ear over the music, and you shook your head no. You’ve had enough drinks for the night, enough to get you buzzed and feeling good, but not to have you shitfaced and puking by the end of the night.

You stayed on the dance floor while Hoseok went to the bar, enjoying the music too much to stop and go with him. He disappeared from your eyes in a few seconds, but you didn’t care as you continued to move your body to the beat.

It felt like a few minutes had passed and Hoseok still wasn’t back, when you felt a pair of unfamiliar hands land on your waist. You tensed for a second, before remembering your plan for the night. Fun.

However, before you went through with it, you had to turn around to see his face. And so you did, and you thanked God the music was loud enough to hide your gasp.

Fuck he was gorgeous.

Not too tall, but still towered over you even in your heels. Brown hair that looked fluffy enough for you to want to run a hand through it. His facial features were so soft, giving him that innocent kind of charm, but you were certain there was more to him than innocent. His eyes were what truly caught your attention, shaped so beautifully, lids falling over an ordinary set of brown irises, yet they were far from ordinary. His lips were plump, shaped in a way that made you jealous of them, yet you wanted them on yours at the same time.

If you wanted your night to be well spent, he was definitely a good sign.

His hand still rested on your waist, not moving as he waited for your approval, and you gave it to him by moving closer to him and placing your arms around his neck. He gave you a smile that almost blinded you and for a second, you questioned if your heart beat just a little bit faster because of his presence.

Your bodies started moving together in sync, and you marveled at how effortlessly his moves seemed to come, clearly showing some sort of experience. You were distracted from his dancing, however, when he leaned down to your ear to speak up.

“What’s your name?”

His voice was softer than you expected, but it still fitted him very well. Soft and silky, just as he seemed.

“__,” you answered.

“Jimin.”

Jimin. You felt your heart beat faster once again when he said his name, and you were kind of confused when it happened again. But you played it off as excitement of meeting someone new after so long and being so close to a guy like this.

Your bodies started gradually moving closer, until your torsos pressed against each other. His other arm wrapped around you as well, one of his hands moving lower to rest on your lower back, and you’d be the world’s biggest liar if you said you didn’t enjoy the closeness.

You gasped slightly when you felt him tentatively moving his hips closer to yours, testing the waters on whether you were comfortable with that kind of dancing. You didn’t hesitate to reciprocate, and the two of you got more comfortable as you danced with your bodies glued together.

The beat then switched to one of your favorite songs at the moment, and it was more than perfect for this moment.

(I started listening to Unforgettable by French Montana ft Swae Lee from here, if you’d like to listen to something while reading this!)

You were suddenly spun around in his hold, your back now pressed to his torso. Your gasp was drowned out by the sound of the music. But it seemed like second nature for you to press back against him, your hips having a mind of their own as they moved against his. His hands got braver and moved along your hips and waist, his grip tight on you but you seemed to love it for some reason.

His head moved forward and closer to you, his lips now near your ear since you could feel his warm breath on it. So you lifted one of your hands, fulfilling one of your wishes and running it through his hair that felt just as soft as it looked, enjoying the way he mindlessly nuzzled into your hand. Your other hand landed on one of his that was on your waist, holding it just because.

The position you were in was intimate, and if anyone looked over at the two of you, you were pretty sure you looked like a couple who couldn’t keep their hands off each other.

Your train of thoughts was cut off when you felt his lips place a light kiss to the shell of your ear before he moved his head down so his face was right against the crook of your neck, his lips grazing your now heated skin. Your fingers tightened slightly around his hair, and he reciprocated by puckering his lips up for that last inch of space that could barely fit a needle through, pressing a kiss to your neck.

His lips stayed still for a few seconds, then they moved again and you felt yourself getting more affected by his simple but sensual actions. He peppered delicious kisses along your skin, each one becoming more eager and sloppier  than the other, until you felt his lips part to place an open mouthed kiss to the juncture of your neck.

Your head leaned back against his shoulder, allowing him easy access to the length of your neck, feeling shivers going through your body because of how much you enjoyed his touches. His kisses got hungrier, finally parting his lips once he settled on a patch of skin and sucking softly on it. Your eyes fluttered shut involuntarily, letting out a shaky breath as sensations took over your every sense.

You really weren’t usually one to let it go far in public, you weren’t even used to dancing with hot strangers and grinding on them against the dance floor. But he was just so alluring, something about him was so captivating, it seemed as if you couldn’t control yourself around him, especially when his hand slowly but surely traveled up your side, until it grazed the side of your breast through the loose top you were wearing, barely running his thumb along it before he moved his hand back down.

But that was the last straw. You quickly turned around in his grasp causing him to detach his lips from your neck, your hand placed on his shoulder to lean into him and whisper in his ear.

“Take me home.”

A mess of tangled limbs was what you two were. Your eyes fluttered open due to the sunlight streaming in through the openings between the curtains. Despite the drinks you consumed last night, you were feeling pretty great at the moment.

You felt his arm draped over your waist, his chest pressed against your back, skin completely bare, allowing you to bask in his warmth. You could hear the soft snores escaping his lips, and to your surprise, you found the noise pretty endearing, despite you despising the sound when any of your ex-boyfriends did it.

You couldn’t help but slowly turn over in his hold, managing to keep his arm thrown around you, to face him. You almost choked on a gasp at the sight of him.

If you thought he was gorgeous last night, he was ten times more beautiful like this. You had absolutely no idea how you managed to catch his eye, let alone spend the night with him. He looked like an angel, so pure and peaceful. Hair messed up and all over the place, its brown color contrasting to the pale color of the pillow. His eyes closed, eyelashes looking as long as ever as they rested against his cheeks. Lips parted slightly, looking swollen both from sleep and from your own assault on them only hours prior.

You scooted closer to him as gently as you could, your face now barely an inch from his. So close to his face now, completely sober, yet you felt drunk and dizzy on him.

Thoughts from last night started to cloud your head, memories of your heated activities coming back in flashes.

“Fuck, Jimin,” you moaned out as you rode him slowly. Your hands rested against his chest to balance yourself as you went up and down.

“You feel so fucking good,” he groaned out. His hands traveled from your thighs to your ass where he squeezed harshly before landing a slap to your right cheek, causing you to squeal in surprise and pleasure.

That only resulted in you moving faster against him, bouncing harder against his cock. The bed squeaked beneath your erratic movements, the headboard banging against the wall every once in a while.

“Jimin!” You cried out when he thrusted up against you, hitting you so deep you fell forward against his chest, your body weak with pleasure.

He took that chance to bend his knees and plant his feet firmly against the mattress, grabbing your ass in both hands to hold you still before he started to pound into you harshly.

Your cry was weak and hoarse, your voice nearly gone due to your screams and moans from your previous rounds. Your body jostled on top of his with the force of his thrusts, panting against his neck and digging your nails into the sweaty skin of his chest.

“Fuck, baby,” he groaned out. He stopped his thrusts, and you were about to whine before he wrapped his arm tightly around your waist and flipped the two of you over so you were pinned to the mattress.

Your cries once again sounded throughout the arm when he continued pounding you into the mattress, headboard now banging against the wall with each and every thrust.

“Morning.”

You were snapped out of your thoughts when you heard his raspy morning voice, and you felt yourself blush slightly at your dirty thoughts so early in the morning.

“Morning,” you greeted back with a smile.

He tightened his arm around you and brought you in closer, nuzzling his face into your neck. “Sorry,” he mumbled. “I’m a cuddler.”

“I don’t mind,” you chuckled and stroked his hair, quite enjoying the affection you were receiving. You rarely had one night stands, but you were pretty sure guys weren’t always this nice the morning after. If anything, a proper smile was too much to get from someone after a one night stand, tops. But this, this you were enjoying.

“You hungry?” He suddenly asked, removing his face from your neck to look at you with curious eyes. You felt shy for a second, not wanting to impose and thinking he was just an overly nice and polite person in general.

“Ah, thank you Jimin. You really don’t have to-”

“Come on, I’m not the best cook, but I can cook something up.”

He got up and threw his legs over the side of the bed, grabbing a pair of boxers from his nightstand before pulling it up his legs, and you took a few seconds to admire the view of his back, so soft yet muscly, begging to be touched. Then you noticed a faint red over his shoulder blades, and you quickly realized they were your damn scratch marks.

You felt your cheeks turned red at the sight and you quickly turned away, your eyes quickly scanning the room in search of your clothes. They landed on a spot near the door, so you wrapped the sheets around you and got up to grab the discarded shirt and jeans. You held your jeans in one hand and threw them on the bed before grabbing your top. However, when you held it up and saw that it was ripped right down the middle.

Your eyes widened and you looked to Jimin who was stood there, mouth agape and cheeks tinted pink.

“Uh, I’m-” he cleared his throat and scratched the back of his neck bashfully. “I’m so sorry. Here, wait a second.” He turned to his closet and opened it, flipping through hangers before he grabbed a plan black t-shirt that seemed a few sizes too big, but it would do.

“It’s fine,” you chuckled. “Thank you.”

“Thank you, Jimin,” you said after you two finished eating. “For breakfast. And..for last night.”

He looked up at you with his sweet smile as he was putting away the dishes.

“It was my pleasure. Both of those things.”

You blushed for the nth time, before you looked down at your phone to check the time. Your eyes widened when you saw 8 missed calls from Yoongi, 5 from Hoseok, and 18 total texts from both.

“Shit,” you muttered under your breath and got up from your seat. “I think I’m gonna head out now.”

“Oh,” his smile faltered just for a bit but he managed to stop it. “Of course. I can drive you.”

“No, I couldn’t ask that of you Jimin, You’ve already been so sweet to me,” you smiled at him gratefully. “I can catch a cab from here.”

He reluctantly agreed, walked you to the door, and watched you walk away from his apartment.

You both felt a heavy sinking feelings in your stomach with each step you took away from him, and his feeling only double when you were completely out of view and he shut the door.

You frowned at the feeling. But you convinced yourself it was because it’s been so long since you’ve been with a guy in any way, and the one you happened to meet with last night seemed like a complete sweetheart and gentleman.

You hailed a cab and told the driver your address before deciding to distract yourself with replying to Yoongi. As you typed out a text, as if on cue, your phone started ringing with his name on the screen. You slid open the green button and placed the phone to your ear.

“Did you get laid last night?”

His question was so sudden you almost choked on your own spit.

“Yoongi!” You snapped. “Morning to you too, asshole.”

“I’m hoping that’s a yes.”

“It’s a none of your damn business.”

“Listen I’ll talk to you later. I just got home and I’m in desperate need of a shower,” you said as you got out of the cab.

“Alright, text me later.”

You sighed and locked your phone before placing it in your back pocket. You didn’t take notice of the large van that was parked right in front of your building, the trunk open and filled with boxes and bags.

You took the stairs when you saw that stinky old man waiting on the elevator door. You reached your floor in no time, walking down the hall, head down and looking for your keys in your purse.

That was a bad decision since you managed to bump into a wall. Well, what felt like a wall. It was definitely solid.

You stumbled back but caught yourself before you went too far, looking up to find a guy about your age, maybe a tiny bit older staring back at you apologetically.

“I’m so sor-”

“I’m really s-”

You both chuckled at your attempts of apologizing.

“I’m sorry, I wasn’t even looking in front of me,” you said.

“It’s fine, really,” he smiled what seemed to be the cutest smile in the world, making him seem much younger than he actually was. “I’m moving in here. Do you live here, too?”

“Yeah, apartment 205. Welcome to the building. What apartment are you moving into?” You asked with a smile, and his smile only widened before he chuckled. You felt your stomach fill with butterflies at the simple sound, but you tried to push them down and keep them at bay.

“204. I guess we’re neighbors, yeah?” He stretched his hand out for me to shake. “I’m Jungkook.”

“Darling, can you bring this to grandma?”

The sweet voice of your mother forced you to lift your gaze, biting the inside of your cheek for keeping you from sending her to the devil.

Not that you hated your mother, she was the most important woman in your life, but she knew how much your grandmother’s condition would hurt you. You were tied to the old woman by a bond that couldn’t be explained and every time her blank gaze was resting on you, you could feel the pain hit you repeatedly and tears constantly pinching your orbs.

“All right.” You murmured, taking the dish that she was giving you.

Your brother gave you a little smile of encouragement and with a slow pace, you headed to the room where your grandmother was resting, feeling your heart beating more and more violently and the dish shaking in your hands.

You weren’t sure you could do it, now that condition was leading you to exhaustion and even the failure to really talk to someone, the fail to express to the best of your emotions, provoked further concern and pain to your heart already too bent and broken.

Quietly you opened the door and on tiptoe, you approached the king sized bed that filled almost completely the room. She was asleep and you didn’t want to wake her up because selfish you wanted to be able to lay the pot on the nightstand and run away.

But her eyes opened and rested on you, so you stuck near the nightstand and watched her remain silent. The doctors explained that abrupt and sudden movements could cause further problems for people in those conditions.

“Hello dear.”

A knot at the throat prevented you from saying something, but your eyes opened wide as the woman in front of you gave you a little smile. Maybe that was the day? Your heart began to beat even more violently than a few moments earlier, while hope began to flow into you rising to monstrous levels.

“Who are you? What’s your name, darling? ”

Your little bubble of hope exploded, an explosion so strong as to take your breath away and the tears began spontaneously to slip on your cheeks, falling on your mouth and letting you grind your nose to the brackish taste that they left on your soft lips.

“I-I am… I brought you something to eat, you have to feed yourself, mh? ” You couldn’t stutter, while your lips bent into a small and fake smile.

Your eyes were filled with disappointment and especially a sense of abandonment. Your grandmother hadn’t recognized you for the umpteenth time and your world had collapsed a little more.

“Taehyung leaves immediately Jungkook, you’re choking him.” Seokjin was furious, obviously, he was just pretending to be, while trying to separate the two boys who continued undeterred to do wrestling in the living room.

You were sitting on Yoongi’s bed, with the door open and a beautiful view on the show that the eldest was trying to stop, while at your side your boyfriend quickly beat his fingers on the keyboard of his laptop completely immersed in his world.

Your expression was flat, like every time you showed yourself outside the house walls. Only Yoongi was able, now much more than before, to penetrate that armor that you used as protection. You were similar, similar fears, similar thoughts, similar problems. And similar behaviors so understand what you felt and how you were actually had never been difficult for him.

Roommates

Set directly after season 2 with some liberties taken. Based off a tumblr post that suggested Lena lives at her office. When Kara finds out, she insists that Lena comes to live with her. Shenanigans ensue.

Sorry if this sucks, I probably should have waited another day to post it but I had to get it out! Let me know what you think!

Read it on AO3 - http://archiveofourown.org/works/11457816

Lena never really thought she would miss having an apartment to go home to.

She spends so much time at L-Corp that an apartment would simply be an added cost, another thing for her already overworked brain to keep up with. Which is exactly why she hadn’t went apartment hunting on arrival to National City.

She originally only meant to stay in National City for a few weeks - to ensure that things were running smoothly at the new L-Corp branch before heading back to Metropolis.

But then Kara had happened.

Kara with her sunny smiles and her unfaltering friendship.

And somewhere between the brunches and late night donuts, Lena had decided to stay in National City. Because Metropolis may be her home city but she can never look at it the same, not since Kara. She had called Kara her only friend in National City, but really she had pushed any other friends she had away a long time ago.

It’s easier that way, less disappointing. Better for them if they stay away from the Luthor name.

It’s why she had left Jack.

No need to taint his wondrous research with her name - it would damn him from the start.

But Kara, Kara is different.

Kara doesn’t care about her last name.

Kara is the best friend she doesn’t deserve.

And so she had stayed - weeks had turned into months; and maybe she’s a workaholic and maybe she has commitment issues; but the house hunt had never happened.

And now here she is, over a year later, living in her office.

Most of the time it doesn’t bother her.

She works late anyway, having a bed the next room over is just common sense.

It’s efficient, it saves time.

But right now, she wants nothing more than to go home.

Only she doesn’t have a home.

She laughs mirthlessly.

National City’s richest CEO and she doesn’t even have a place to call home.

How fitting.

I can’t even begin to explain how satisfied I am with 4:47 “explanation”. Seriously.

IDK how Hart wanted to explain, but I’m 100% okay with this one.

It has a meaning, a real and powerful meaning. Brennan already taught us that there’s no unique event in this universe. So, 4:47 being every turning page in Booth and Brennan’s lives, just speaks to my heart in so many ways.

4x26 - Brennan almost lost Booth. He survived. He had that dream, of the life she wrote in an alternative universe for them. Everything almost ended, but he survived and that beautiful shared dream opened all the doors they were trying to close about what they feel for each other.

5x22 - They literally went away. Were separated. He could have not come back She could have not come back. Something had to change, according to Booth. But, as beautifully well the episode title says, there’s a beginning in the end. Everything almost ended for them. But it was that “almost” that brought them back. It could have ended. But it didn’t. And as much as it hurt for everyone, was the step they needed to take to both understand what they had.

6x22 - Vincent was shot instead of Booth. Booth could have given that phone to Brennan. Booth could have been the one picking up that phone. And it’d be the end for them as we know them. It could have been the end when they gave that step into their relationship - because they couldn’t have erased it if things didn’t work out. In every single aspect, everything almost ended for them. But it’s all about that step, that climb - but what if it doesn’t? What if this is just the beginning of something beautiful, like it was?

7x07 - I can’t think of anything that changed more those two forever than the birth of their own daughter. There’s no bigger turning page for them. Having a baby? That changes you forever. And as Angela beautifully told in S5, you’re bound to that person forever because you have a human life in common. So yeah. It was the end in a way. B&B are forever partners in everything but in that moment they were SO MUCH MORE than that. they had their miracle.

7x13 and 9x01  - Well I’m putting these two together because we always interpreted it as Pelant’s being a little shit again and trying to harm our babies. (probably their idea back then not even going to deny) but looking now with the meaning they gave us? Brennan ran away with Christine from Booth. She did to him what her parents did to her. She let him baptize her, and disappeared with her. For 3 months, EVERYTHING changed. Everything could have ended. Booth lost them both. Brennan was living with that weight, knowing how much it hurt, but also trying to do the right, rational thing. They were never the same. He had to deal of losing part of his daughter growing up, of being left “out” of her plan, even though he doesn’t condone it - he knows it was necessary. And she had to deal with the fact that even being the same strong, independent human being that she always was, she is in fact bound to her partner and her daughter, in ways she didn’t expected it. Things could have not work out like they did - they do because it’s them. It’s always Booth and Brennan and their love will always be enough to survive anything life throws it - another case of almost being the end, but it wasn’t. 9x01 is in the same line of thought. Things could have ended so differently. It was Brennan’s faith in Booth, in what he always did for her, her love and trust in him. They were thrown such a big burden - FUCK YOU PELANT I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU - that made them question everything around both of them and inside themselves Yet, they pulled through. It didn’t end. Again.

(about 11x15, 7x13 and 11x01 you see the number but it’s not a moment nor an hour. It’s just there so yeah skipping those. Also. it’s just a number. Pffff do you think someone loses 30minutes in writing about 447? NOT ME. clearly. )

12x12 - I don’t think I even need to discuss this one. He almost lost her. She almost lost the thing that, in her mind, made her who she is. Both of them almost died, and they would leave their kids. their life. 30, 40, 50 years of years left full of things waiting for them. Everything almost ended, but it didn’t. And it doesn’t make them weaker, or more damaged. Makes them… Them. Booth and Brennan. As always, since the day 1, fighting for what’s right in the world, loving just a little bit too much in so many different ways, yet so similar in the end.

It almost ended. But it didn’t. And they’re rising again like they’re a phoenix. Not giving up on everything that united them on the first place. Fighting for the same things, working for the same ends, with the love and dedication they always have. Following their hearts.

This was B&B last 12 years. Pushing forward, loving, for all the reasons that really mattered, even when’s scary and you have so much to lose.

It almost ended. But it didn’t, not in even one time that 4:47 appeared. It’s scary sometimes because you have things to lose. But when you’re fighting for what’s right, for what/who you love, it’s worth it to push forward. It’s worth it to give that step. And sometimes, it’s good to remind yourself of that, of those moments where you could have lost. To never forget why it’s worth it.

What makes life worthwhile.

Bless this show.
