you think we need one more

Things overheard at Rocky Horror Rehearsals
  • ”You’ve really outdone yourselves with those sexual sit-ups. Bravo.”
  • “Hey! Your penis whistles came in the mail!”
  • “Oh, so this is when we smack our ass.”
  • “Let’s rename the show ‘Too Many Fucking Feathers’“
  • “It’s ‘Rocky Horror’ not ‘Rocky Whore’. We’re not prostitutes. Jeez”
  • “I need 600 pieces of bread. Toasted. Thank you”
  • “WHERE ARE MY SLINKERS”
  • “Did you know that the original Santa would slap people?”
  • “Can you just put me down as ‘The one with the boobs’?”
  • “No, it’s more like, “You think I’m going for the lips, but really, I’m going for the dick.”
  • “I’m sorry but the knocker isn’t phallic enough for me.”
  • “Here’s an idea: turn his crotch into a puppet.”
  • “Do you have a fake tongue we could borrow?”
  • “Look at that rocket. So dick like. Wonderful.”

You know what I like about that hip anime style?

You don’t have to think about the really muddy stuff that makes even simple drawing tasks fairly arduous. All that humanity I try to capture? You can just fudge it.

And to an anime style enthusiast, that fudging is equally, if not more effective and welcoming than taking the long way. To an uninnoculated party however, the style is wacky, unapproachable and discomforting, but to one of us anime enjoyers, it’s A-OK.

We get it. Everyone gets their own special haircut, and that’s all we need.

Oh yeah, and I was all set to make a tutorial about drawing kidlets, and then my ma showed me this creepy hyperrealistic doll making book she had that covered in-depth, just how much a child’s head grows from babby to big person over their lifetime. I was all set to make a tutorial and everything since someone asked forever ago, but it would have been filled with so much bad information it would have done a lot more harm than good.

Me and this boy used to "date" in 8th grade. I was over it and didn't talk to him for so long but now it's senior year in high school. He's a student leader of our sports student section and he came to one of my track meets. I had a conversation with him and all of a sudden I was brought back to liking him. I don't know why bc we aren't even friends anymore. I feel dumb for even thinking about him. I know he hasn't even thought about me since 8th grade(he has dated a lot of people since). Help!

I think you need to figure out first if it’s just a crush or something more, and if it’s something more, I think you should talk to him about it. Who knows, he might surprise you! :)

Can we talk about how good of an actor Mark is for a second?

Mark played all of his characters absolutely flawlessly. Honestly. Maybe there were some very small nitpicky things that could’ve been better but in the end, he played each of his characters so well.

But when all is said and done, I commend him on his acting because of THIS:

He goes from looking distraught, absolutely numb and heartbroken and altogether just sad

To this. This absolute fury as if he could murder a man right then and there by simply giving them this look. This look of anger that makes it seem as though he’s about to explode.

In one. Goddamned. Second.

Granted, he did so much good acting in this series; There were so many moments where it didn’t feel like Mark, it felt like the Colonel. Or it felt like Damien. But it didn’t feel like Mark. (I love it when actors can do that tbh).

But in this moment, you can see him transform from who he is into Darkiplier. He captured that. Right here in this one second clip. With one look at the camera.

Mark Fischbach, to you I say two things:

1) This was astonishing. This entire series had your whole fandom freaking out and theory-writing for four days straight, and honestly there are probably still going to be theories even after this. I hope desperately that you love what you gave us just as much as we did because this was amazing.

2) YOU NEED TO ACT MORE BECAUSE HOLY SHIT I WILL NEVER BE OVER THIS SERIES AND HOW WELL IT WAS PUT TOGETHER. JUST SAYING.

(And a LARGE thank you to Teamiplier because none of this would’ve happened without you guys)

Sorry for the vent but honestly I can’t be the only one who thinks this, right?

This one wouldn’t let me go until I got it out. It hit me as soon as episode 114 ended, and I’ve worked on it in bits and pieces since. I wish I had the time to make it true to what’s in my head, but other projects demand my attention. A lot of artists have been doing fan art of that episode, which is a testament to how powerful it was as a whole.

But this part was what hit me hardest. I took a lot of liberties with combining IC and OOC stuff with my own personal take on it, but I hope it comes across as at least a fraction of how the moment hit me. These characters are amazing and I will deeply miss them, but it’s the players and GM that make everything special. I can’t wait to see what’s ahead, both the bitter and the sweet.

Oh, and as a note, I don’t ship Vax and Scanlan, though if you do that’s cool. But one thing I love about Vox Machina is the open, raw love they have for one another, both platonic and romantic, that makes them family. Their expressions of that (and especially the players’ affection outside the game) reflect something we all need more of, and I think that’s part of what makes it all so compelling. <3

One More Little Tragedy of Darkiplier and Warfstache

If you haven’t seen the original post, it’s here.

I thought of one more thing.

Something I said on this post was that Darkiplier’s shell cracks because it “can barely handle the physical agony of having two souls trapped inside of him”.

Someone pointed out to me, “Wait, don’t you mean three souls? What about us?”

And at first I was like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But now I’m thinking.

I’ve seen theories saying that, since Dark walks away from the mirror and we’re still in it, that he pushed our soul right back out, and that he had manipulated us for that chance to be alive again.

I don’t think he “manipulated” us for that, per se, but that mirror thing still bugged me… until now. (I think the gif might be from @markired again, but I’m not certain, sorry.)

Celine and Damien needed us to form Darkiplier, right?

What if… in those last moments the Colonel was speaking to us…

… we saw just how much Wilford needed them?

So we decided to let Dark take over, push us out even, so that Damien and Celine could follow the Colonel.

What if we sacrificed ourselves for this?

What if we literally saw how much poor, broken William needed his only support system, and decided that maybe… it’d be okay if we let go?

What if we let go in the name of love, and that’s why Dark walks away without us, because we see that Will needs Damien and Celine more than he needs us, and we're… okay with it?

This is some Shakespearean sh*t right here.

I know, it’s a stretch, but as a new-founded Wilford Warfstache protector, I find… a weird sense of comfort in this theory.

We might have made the greatest sacrifice we could, for Wilford, our poor, broken Colonel.

And I think that’s a beautiful tragedy.

One thing that makes me think this might be true?

You know Mark Edward Fischbach would do it.

AfterBuzz Interview Quote:

Interviewer: Last season, in terms of Netflix dropping episodes, was so much about trying to build up Keith’s confidence as a leader, and now we immediately see him basically getting to step out of that role. So what was sort of the decision, I guess, behind that?

Joaquim: I mean, I think he’s always been reluctant to be in that position, so I think it’s part of his makeup, it’s part of his character. … You know, Pidge tried pulling something very similar early on, and Keith was like, “What are you doing?” So I think this is also a nice turn. It shows their growth as a team, it shows their understanding of each other’s personal needs.

Lauren: And it’s also a situation where you’ve got one paladin too many. We only need five to form Voltron. Had Shiro stayed gone, Keith would have absolutely been there and been that leader. But he sees Shiro’s back, and I think he feels like he can’t fill those shoes. And so, it almost makes him want to pull back more, and he’s trying to almost force Shiro to retake that position. Because he never feels like he can adequately take his place.

Lauren and Joaquim talk about Keith stepping aside from Voltron

I know a lot of people are upset that we didn’t get to see Dean carry Cas’s body into the house—and don’t get me wrong, I wanted to see it too; but can you imagine them actually trying to film that scene? It would’ve been impossible!

Attempt 1:

“Okay—just jump up here” Jensen says, squatting down some and holding out his arms.

“No way!” Misha yelps instantly, backing up a few paces.

“Why not?”

“You’re gonna drop me!”

“I won’t drop you!” Jensen scoffs, opening his arms wider now and motioning for Misha to move.

“Hell no! As soon as I jump, you’ll drop me.”

“I’ve carried you before, man. Did I drop you then?”

“That was for photos and shit—two seconds tops. This is a whole scene!” Misha argues, putting his hands on his hips.

“C’mon, guys! Are we doing this or what?” Phil calls out from somewhere behind the monitors.

“Yep!” Jensen answers quickly and then motions to Misha again—this time, with an urgent look on his face.

Misha rolls his eyes but eventually moves in closer, bracing one hand on Jensen’s shoulder before throwing his own body into the air.

Jensen grunts.

They both immediately tumble to the ground.

Attempt 2:

“Dude—why are your arms around my neck?”

“I don’t want to fall again!” Misha whines, looking warily towards the gravel as Jensen scoots along.

Jensen breathes out a strained laugh at that . “Yeah, but you’re supposed to be dead. This is kinda killing the illusion.”

“I don’t think so” Misha mutters, obviously choosing to be difficult now.

“Seriously, dude? I can’t carry dead-Cas inside, bridal-style!” Jensen huffs, shifting his arms a little to try and keep Misha’s weight in the air.

“Why not? You carrying me to my death bed is pretty much the same as you carrying me to the marriage bed … especially on this show.”

Jensen quickly drops Misha again.

Attempt 3:

Jensen is out of breath—and his back is hurting like a mother fucker, but he hunkers down to lift Misha up once more.

And this time—Misha slumps his body backwards and completely relaxes his muscles, which nearly breaks Jensen in two.

Oof! God—damn!” Jensen grunts, trying desperately to step forward across the dirt and grass. “It’s like—ugh—carrying a—agh—a sack of wet leather!”

Misha slits one eye open and smirks at his costar. “You’re so sweet, Dean. This is why I fell for you in the first place.”

He’s prepared to be dropped this time, and he laughs as he rolls out of Jensen’s arms.

“What’s goin’ on, guys?” Phil yells out across the clearing.

“Nothin’!” Jensen wheezes, bending his body over his knees as he tries to catch his breath. “Just—just need a minute!”

A second later, Jared is bounding up to them. “Hey, y’all okay?”

Misha chuckles and goes over to pat Jensen on the back. “Yeah—someone just needs to spend more time lifting weights.”

Jensen immediately sneers up at the other man. “And someone else needs to lay off the pizza!”

“How about I be the one to carry him in?” Jared says suddenly—loud enough for Phil to hear it too.

“We could try that” Phil says, sounding frustrated and just eager to get this scene over with.

“What?” Misha yelps. “No way! No, no, no, no, no! No way Jared is carrying me!”

“Wha—why?” Jared asks, feigning some puppy dog innocence that is damn near Oscar worthy.

“You know exactly why!” Misha insists, taking several steps backwards to be out of the moose’s long reach. “Phil! You can’t be serious! Jared is just going to throw me in the lake if we do it this way!”

Jared’s face bursts into a giant grin, and his eyes sparkle like a Disney character whose wish just came true. “The lake! I didn’t even think of that!”

Misha groans loudly, and Jensen is laughing– all while Phil is angrily rubbing his temples behind the monitor.

Attempt 4:

“Are we ready yet?”

“One more sec, Phil!” Misha answers, turning back to look at Jared and Jensen with a face of warning.

“How about we both carry him in?” Jared suggests, and it sounds genuine but Misha still isn’t falling for it.

“No! Not gonna happen! Then you’ll both just throw me into the lake!”

Jensen rolls his eyes but he can’t stop himself from smiling. “No we won’t, man. Seriously—we’re losing the light here. We need to get this done.”

“I know that! Don’t you think I know that? But this is my dead body we’re talking about and I need to make sure it’s respected!”

“We’ll respect it” Jared insists.

“Since when have you ever respected it?” Misha counters.

“Okay! Alright! Just… Jared, get back there—we’re gonna try this again the way it’s scripted, okay?”

Jared holds up his hands in surrender. “Fine, fine, but I’ll be over here if you need me.”

“We won’t need you” Misha warns, knowing Jared’s deviousness all too well and it’s starting to make him break out in hives.

Jared laughs but finally backs away, until he’s far off on the other side of the set.

Jensen then takes a deep breath. “Okay, man. Let’s go. Let’s do this.”

Misha nods, and they both seem determined now.

With a heave and some careful balancing, Misha is once again in Jensen’s arms and Jensen is once again, huffing his way to the front door of the cabin. He’s huffing a lot … he sounds like he’s in pain.

“You okay?” Misha whispers, trying not to look up or move his mouth much—because, he is dead after all.

“Fine” Jensen wheezes shortly, but he doesn’t sound very convincing.

“You sure?” Misha asks again.

“Shh!” Jensen snips, trying to concentrate.

Misha finally peeks up at him. “Your face is really red.”

Jensen doesn’t answer, he just strains to keep Misha in his grasp.

“And your veins are popping out of your neck.”

“I’m acting” Jensen finally grunts.

Acting—constipated?” Misha asks.

“Shut up!”

“Ow—okay, now you’re pinching my ass!”

“Well, I need to hold onto something!”

“You need to hold onto my ass?”

“It’s got the most grip.”

“Okay … okay … now that just tickles!” Misha starts to laugh, squirming a little and it eventually  throws Jensen off balance.

“F—fu—fuck!” Jensen wobbles to one side and sends Misha rolling dramatically  onto the ground.

“I can help!” Jared yells out, sounding so excited, he might just burst.

“No … no, that’s alright, Jared” Phil cuts in, just as Misha is lifting himself from the dirt. “We’ve been talking and we think we’re just going to cut this scene. It’s uh … it’s not working out.”

With that, Misha throws his fist into the air victoriously, and Jensen drops exhaustively to the ground with the overwhelming relief—and Jared’s disappointed moans can be heard all the way on the other side of the lake; echoing out “Aw, man!”  and “Damnit” and lamenting all the glorious opportunity that he’s just lost.

Tldr…I’m in need of commissions since some prick decided to use our card so the bank and put us over big time. We are working on it, but its proving difficult. Money will go toward getting food and other needs.

If you can’t commission me, a reblog is just as appreciated! VERY

I hope you all know how lucky we are to have @taylorswift. There has NEVER been or will ever be an artist so down to earth, kind hearted, generous, thoughtful, and fan-oriented as she is.

If you take a moment to really think about everything she does for us, it should truly blow your mind. Stalking her own fans, inviting us to her home, making us cookies, donating time and money to help us feel better when we are sick or down, creates playlists for us, reaching out and creating relationships with us, getting in on inside jokes with us, teasing us, and so much much more.

This is fucking unheard of.

We need to cherish this, because she is one of a kind, you guys!!!

To anyone confused about the “bazillion genders” nonbinary people talk about, here’s an explanation: They are not for you.

Listen, I honestly understand this confusion. I identified as cis until fairly recently, and for a long time I didn’t get  why people called themselves these genders that seemed pretty wild. The problem is that I think people misunderstand the intent of these labels. People assume that these are terms we’re expecting you to memorize and if you ever call us the wrong one we’ll riot. But that’s not at all the point.

The labels we use to describe our gender identities are really just that–labels. They’re a way for us to identify our perception of our gender both to ourselves and to others like us. We use them because they make us feel validated because people are expected to have a word for their gender, and we use them so we can identify others like ourselves.

The point is, if you aren’t cis, you don’t have to understand these genders. Gender is really complicated, and if you’ve only ever identified as the gender assigned to you, it’s hard to get what it’s like to have a nonbinary gender.  The genders that people think sound “crazy,” like ones that revolve around some feeling or are influenced by a wide concept, are still totally legitimate, because they’re just words for how we feel. If someone feels like they’re gender is like the stars, that’s entirely their business.

When I say these labels aren’t for you, I don’t mean that you should ignore them. I mean that they all fall under the umbrella term of nonbinary, and all you really need to know about a person’s gender is their pronouns. If someone wants to tell you more about their gender, that’s up to them. But otherwise, leave worrying about gender to us enbies.

Hey Leo! What do you think about Keith's "I can't explain it but I think we should attack the cruiser" in the last episode? I thought he had just deducted it but based on this line I guess it was another one of his gut feelings, sooo intuitive Keith strikes again? People say he's quintessence-sensitive, so do u think he somehow sensed Haggar's energy and then put 2 and 2 together and figured it out, or what happened there?

Okay so, I have been saying Keith’s quintessence sensitive from day one. It’s where I got the whole “druid Keith” idea from, and now that we know druids are more so a creation of the rift, well–I think Keith’s instinctive knowledge of certain things is inexorably linked to that other reality. And its magic. When he contacts Matt, he says, “I can’t explain why, but I know we need to attack that fleet.”

You know what else that sounds like? When he mentions he can sense the Blue Lion and says, “I can’t explain it, really. I was lost and kind of drawn out to this place. It’s like something…some energy, was telling me to search.”

Keith just inherently knows certain things, has a sixth sense for it. This goes well beyond good intuition. He was able to feel the Blue Lion’s presence a whole year before her own pilot–sensing her the same way Haggar did.

He was the only one able to connect with his lion over a vast distance–the only other paladin able to do this is Zarkon, and even then, only with the aid of a druid. In season 1 when that druid attacks him, Keith doesn’t get those same fatal, glowing wounds that Shiro and Thace and Antok do. He’s not as badly affected, and he’s able to heal himself by manipulating raw quintessence–something we’ve only seen from other druids.

The common denominator here? Haggar didn’t start off as a “witch,” she was a regular alchemist. A scientist. She acquired those abilities though exposure to the rift and all its pure quintessence. And the Lions and this entity of Voltron are from this other reality as well. So honestly? I think Keith was able to sense Haggar’s power and its malicious intent because he has some sort of connection to the rift.

I’d also like to point out that Keith seems naturally drawn to high concentrations of quintessence. Whether its the Lions or containers of raw quintessence, Keith won’t pass up the chance to investigate it. Keith is pretty much our introduction to quintessence and how the druids work with it. He sees the druids and the quintessence, wonders what’s going on, and decides to follow it. Later, he tells Coran he’s going to grab some of it. And later, when he accidentally crashes into a tank of it, he manages to heal himself. They could have used any character to narratively link to quintessence this way, but they chose Keith.

And then later, Keith starts taking jobs with the BOM tracking these huge supply lines of incredibly rare, pure quintessence. Keith is incredibly concerned about this, and keeps trying to convince Kuron that following up on those leads needs to take priority. Yes, he’s chasing them in hopes they’ll lead him straight to Lotor. But again, he’s following after trails of quintessence again. When discussing the mission, he also says “We have–” then stops, and corrects himself–“I have to take it. I need to be on that mission.” This is very much a personal matter. Even if he can’t fully articulate why, he feels like he just has to be there. And narratively speaking, I think it would be quite interesting if both our half-galra ended up being tied to the rift from opposite ends of it–quite literally.

So yeah. Considering how Keith seems to be drawn like a magnet to major powerhouses of quintessence, the thing with Haggar’s ship doesn’t surprise me

9x05 Dog Dean Afternoon

As amazing and hysterical as this episode was I can’t help but think how much more hilarious and adorable it could have been if Sam was also able to talk to dogs!

I mean think about it, we know Sam loves dogs…..

…So can you imagine how excited he would have been to talk to one of his favourite animals?!
He’d be like:

Hi!

What’s your name?

What’s it like being a dog?

Omg can I be your friend?!”

Side note: Still praying the boys get a dog….. (and one that never dies!)

“Hey, Lance, you have a visual on Keith?” Pidge asked.

Lance peered through the scope on his sniper rifle, the technology zeroing in on Keith despite being forty feet up an alien tree. Through the dense canopy, he could see the red armor dart in between the sentries posted, dispatching them quickly with little to-do.

He tore off his helmet; sweat matting his black hair to his forehead and neck. Shaking his head, with the help of the scope, he could see every drop of sweat that was flung off of him. Setting his helmet down he took a leather-like strip he got from a planet from a hidden compartment in his armor to tie his hair up, a stumpy little ponytail in the back of his head.

He cleared his throat. “Uh, ye-yeah, I got a visual.”

“You okay there, buddy?”

“Yeah, I’m fine, Hunk. Just need some water. This is a very humid planet. Just stay on standby until we need ya.”

“Well, it should be relatively low populated. Whoever was here before must have either gone underground or escaped when the Galra arrived.” Pidge intoned, sounding just like a nature documentary voice over. When he said so he could hear her eye roll over the comms. “Really?”

“Well, I’m not calling it your hacker voice.”

“Uuuggghhhhhh. Shut uuuppp!”

“Guys,” the voice of reason sighed.

“Sorry, Shiro,” they chorused.

Lance cleared his throat again. “Well, it doesn’t seem like there’s anyone here but me and Keith. And a few sentries but they’re dead now.”

“Hmm, okay, just be careful, you too Keith, okay? The scans said the place was abandoned but you can’t be too sure.”

“Uh, yeah, he can’t hear you, he took his helmet off.”

”Goddamnit Keith.”

So I want to be a voice actor yet I have no idea how to get there. I have a college picked out and I'm ready to work hard all throughout high school (I'm in 8th grade) but I don't know what classes I should take to get there. Advice?

This - https://iwanttobeavoiceactor.com

Start here. Dee is a master of the craft and gives tons of info on his site.

In addition, I have a few pieces of advice:

1. Study acting - Voice acting at its core, is acting. The same concepts of story/character/arc all apply, and the more uninhibited you are with not only your voice, but your body, the more characters you will be able to create. Just because we mainly use our voices in VO doesn’t mean that all of the other tenets of face/body performance no longer apply.

2. Sing - Singing is yoga for the voice. Even if you suck, do it anyway. It will help you with breathing control, dexterity, endurance, pitch, timing; it’s one of the best things you can do as a voice actor.

3. Improv - you need to be able to think on your feet and not be afraid to take risks and be silly.

4. Cold Reading - cold reading is the single most important skill you can have as a VA. Sometimes you get the script minutes before you’re expected to give a fully realized performance. Get comfortable picking up anything and reading it out loud.

“Real life is a funny thing, you know. In real life, saying the right thing at the right moment is beyond crucial. So crucial, in fact, that most of us start to hesitate, for fear of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. But lately what I’ve begun to fear more that that is letting the moment pass without saying anything. I think most of us fear reaching the end of our life, and looking back, regretting the moments we didn’t speak up. When we didn’t say “I love you.” When we should’ve said “I’m Sorry.” When we didn’t stand up for ourselves or some one who needed help.”
