you really are something else

crocordile replied to your post: you know, I’ve got a general policy of trying not…

and if it’s something that bothers someone else but also something you really care about so much, tags can always be arranged? I try to do this whenever I notice a situation like that, or just, idk, talking to the person in general to see what can be done about it :S (btw same as writernotwaiting, let me know if I ever mess up like that x_x)

yeah, actually, and preferably not tags that are like “I know this is going to upset you lol” (as opposed to something neutral like “x don’t look” that can cover a lot of ground because you know what feels like a kick in the face, it’s that

(things that happened! it’s cool)

yeah, like…communication with people because if someone matters to you as a friend I want to make every effort to, like, accommodate their needs and make sure I’m not hurting them in a way that’s easy to fix.

sigh. I guess it’s in general my wish for “more consideration of other people and thoughtfulness on the internet” which is probably futile

me: [enjoys my garbage]

some pretentious fuck: excuse me, but that thing you are enjoying has no real intellectual substance and I don’t like it and you are stupid for liking it

me: [enjoys my garbage MORE AGGRESSIVELY]

marriage seems so risky like what if you get married & you’re in the car afterwards heading to your honeymoon & you go to put on some music for the background & the person you just swore to spend the rest of your life with comes out with, ‘oh, I don’t really care for the Prince of Egypt soundtrack, can you play something else?’ how do you live with that

  • 1st time: I need to tell you something.. And no one else knows, like..it's really personal and private.. But I think I like girls.. You know..like girls usually like boys..
  • 101st time: Hello, my name is gay.

So many boys and young men who are physically and sexually abused never come forward about it due to the stigma. Child abuse awareness month was in April, but this is something we should always be vigilant about.

The culture of college education in this country is so frustrating to me, because it ends up feeling like life and death when it really really shouldn’t. Failing an exam or dropping a class or taking more than four years or even dropping out of school shouldn’t feel like the end of the world, and we all know this, rationally, at yet they do.

(And people who went to college when you could basically always get into your first choice school and pay for the entire year with your summer job busing tables, perpetuate this by making everything about arbitrary metrics of ~success~ rather than happiness/general life satisfaction).

And yeah, there are a lot of cultural and societal factors at play, not least of which is the way that our education system treats college like the goal, something that must be harnessed to guarantee the highest possible earning potential, a necessity for future success and happiness.

But expecting to know what you want to do for the rest of your life when you’re what? 17/18/19? is ridiculous. Hell, I’m in my twenties and in grad school and I still don’t know what I want to do with my life most days. Basically no one I graduated from college with is doing what they ultimately want to do (if they even know what they want to do).

Idk idk. Life isn’t linear and it’s a lot longer than it seems when you’re 19 (which I realize is rich coming from me, the 23 year old), and they way we treat college is kind of (very) fucked up.

Pairing: Jungkook x Reader (ft. Jin, but not romantically)

Genre: Smut (M), angst, mafia!au, prostitution!au

A/N:This is a dark and filthy story! Graphic descriptions of sex (masturbating, etc), heavy dom/sub undertones, drug use, vulgar language use……(alot of smut comes in later) This is a mature read! You have been warned!

The air conditioning caused the dimly lit room to be abnormally cold, as Jin slightly shivered. He was sitting with his hands forming fists, while his father gave him a stern look.

He didn’t want to be here, that was for sure. He knew his father must have started to become suspicious of him, since it was taking an unusually long time for him to locate Jungkook and you. So when he got another message that his father wanted to see him – he couldn’t stop shaking.

What was he supposed to say? He couldn’t keep lying and give his father the same answer of ‘they are close.’ No, that definitely wouldn’t work this time, as he could tell with the look his father currently gave him.

“Son,” his father spoke with a grim voice. “How stupid do you think I am?”

Even though Jin was nervous, he managed to pull off his infamous poker face as he replied, “What ever do you mean?”

“Save your lies for someone else Jin,” the greying man mocked. “You may be able to fool others, but certainly not me. Now tell me where they are. Now.”

4 May 2017 || ig || May Study Challenge

Day 4: May is AP Exam season! What are your tips for studying for tests?

First of all, happy Star Wars day! May the force be with you during your exams (and in general).

The Day Before

MORNING (8-10AM)

  • wake up, have a nice breakfast (not too much coffee pls)
  • get dressed!
  • tidy up your study space if necessary
  • get out your notes one last time (only the summaries/final notes if you have any of those)

DURING THE DAY

  • go over your notes once or twice again and check if you have everything memorised
  • go over everything you especially struggled with another time
  • stay hydrated
  • eat light and easily digestible things
  • cut out caffeine after 4pm because you need a good night’s sleep!
  • take breaks :)

EVENING

  • personally, i don’t study the night before an exam (after 6pm)
  • take a nice bath or shower
  • if you eat dinner, don’t make it too late or too heavy
  • set your alarm and two backup alarms, and if possible tell someone who will be awake at that time to wake you up if all else fails (or to give you a wake-up call)
  • pack your bag with EVERYTHING you need (including water, keys, paper, pens, ID, calculator, bus pass, tissues, tampons/pads if needed)
  • if you want, set out the clothes you want to wear the next day so you don’t have to worry about it in the morning
  • go to bed before midnight, ideally at a time that allows you 7 to 8 hours of sleep

The Day of the Exam

  • manage your time in a way that allows you to be at the exam location half an hour in advance (earlier buses etc)
  • have breakfast!!! don’t skip breakfast, it gives you the energy your brain needs during the exam. if you feel like you can’t eat anything, try just toast or a granola bar or dry cereal or something like that. tea is good as well.
  • don’t drink more caffeine than you usually would. you’ll probably be nervous as it is and caffeine makes you extra hyped
  • go to the toilet before you leave your house
  • if you feel like you would benefit from it, skim your notes one last time (on the bus maybe or during breakfast)
  • if that would just freak you out, read something else (comics, the newspaper, tumblr, whatever really)
  • get encouragement!! have someone tell you that you’ll do fine or wish you good luck. it’ll make you smile and have a more positive attitude. possible people: best friend, parents, siblings, grandparents, and of course tumblr or other social networks.
  • if other people make you even more nervous because they all seem so much better prepared than you (they probs aren’t though), avoid them. listen to music or read something or avoid the exam room itself as long as possible. focus on yourself if you work better that way.
  • if talking to others calms you down, don’t choose the ones with headphones or books to talk to  because they’re probably the ones who want some peace and quiet
  • do your best! :)

THE FIRST TIME YOU KISSED

“You tell me Y/N, do you want this?” he brushes his thumb over your cheek “Do you want to kiss me?”

Before you could ever give your response to him, reality hits the shameless boy like a train. What was he thinking when he asked you such a question? His sudden tendency to take your feelings for granted by working his moves on you, wasn’t how he ever wanted it to be. He was curious and quite greedy about having the chance to win your first kiss. Was it still like a competition for him? Was he toying with you or was he being serious?

Jungkook was your best friend and his intentions were never ill to begin with. You knew from day one, when he held your hand and decided to be your friend back then in kindergarten, that he was anything but harmful. You were well aware of the fact that he could be trusted, and all these years of friendship proved that he was a keeper. Maybe you could trust him? But what would it change? Only jungkook had the answers and decisions to take in this very moment, yet he suddenly stepped away from you

What am I doing, right now? Jungkook would suddenly ask himself as he eyed your lips up-close for the first time in his life

GOOD  MAGIC

❛ not all spells are bad, you must stray away from the bad magic. ❜
❛ there’s nothing wrong with a bit of magic, as long as it’s for the good. ❜
❛ you’re like a vase and the magic is the water.  ❜
❛ i don’t need magic to see that. ❜
❛ not every spell is considered to be bad. ❜
❛ this spell book here contains no such bad magic nor will it ever. ❜
❛ i’m working up a new potion. it’s for the greater good, of course. ❜
❛ i’ve never used my powers/magic for anything but good things. ❜
❛ there is no competition with magic, you either possess, or you don’t. ❜
❛ no one power/magic is better nor greater than the other. ❜
❛ remember, everything you learn is to be used for good. ❜
❛ you think every witch/sorcerer is bad? do i look evil to you?  ❜
❛ i’ve only ever used my magic/powers for good. ❜
❛ it’s not the magic/powers that are bad, it’s the person who possesses it. ❜
❛ there is good and bad in everything, you must always chose to be good. ❜
❛ my powers/magic are not a weapon! i will not be treated as such! ❜
❛ i cannot help you with your wishes, it’s far too evil. ❜
❛ magic is a delicate thing and i treat it as such. ❜
❛ i don’t always use magic/my powers, i don’t always need to. ❜
❛ it is a blessing not a curse, it’s only a curse if you wish to do evil. ❜
❛ i did come here to show off my powers/magic, what do you take me for? ❜
❛ i’m not a witch! i’m a person possessing magic. big difference. ❜
❛ these are healing potions, they will heal just about any form of life. ❜
❛ the good always outweighs the bad, just remember that. ❜
❛ it’s best to use magic/powers when you understand them.  ❜

BAD  MAGIC

❛ i’ve never used magic for anything other than evil. ❜
❛ i will be the greatest and the most powerful, mark my words. ❜
❛ i’ve hexed so many people, i’ve lost count. ❜
❛ a curse is never easy to lift, hence the sole purpose of it. ❜
❛ what’s the point in having powers/magic, if you don’t take advantage? ❜
❛ you have always abused your magical privileges.  ❜
❛ i wouldn’t use my powers/magic for the good if it was life and death. ❜
❛ you really only know how to cast curses/hexes? ❜
❛ i specialize in curses and hexes only, anything else is just noise. ❜
❛ shhh, you shouldn’t even speak of such dark magic. ❜
❛ this book is full of the darkest magic you’ll ever read. ❜
❛ what is the difference between voodoo and dark magic? ❜
❛ dark magic is wonderful, you learn the most from it. ❜
❛ there are so many hexes/curses to cast, i never know which one to pick. ❜
❛ have you ever had a curse/hex casted upon you? ❜
❛ there is no such thing as good magic. ❜
❛ why are you so wicked with such a beautiful gift? ❜
❛ you do not deserve to possess magic/powers. ❜
❛ i’ve got a wicked idea in mind, want to hear? it involves magic. ❜
❛ the best magic of all, of course, is dark magic. ❜
❛ have you ever wanted to step into voodoo? ❜
❛ this a book of dark magic/voodoo, but it is not easy to open. ❜
❛ you have to do a sacrifice to get this dark magic/voodoo book open. ❜
❛ have you ever participated in voodoo ritual? it’s very liberating. ❜
❛ all of these spells contain blood and sacrifice… ❜

NEUTRAL  MAGIC

❛ what witch/sorcerer doesn’t own a spell book? ❜
❛ for future reference, never interrupt my ritual again. ❜
❛ gemstones are great collectibles for healing. ❜
❛ every movie about witchcraft is kind of off point, i feel. ❜
❛ i’m unable to use magic/my powers until i’m older. ❜
❛ do you fly on broom stick and all that? ❜
❛ it’s actually rather hard to stir up a potion. ❜
❛ i don’t own a wand nor a broom stick, but i will drop a house on you. ❜
❛ spell books are often hard to find. ❜
❛ i could close my eyes, pretend to concentrate and you would be scared. ❜
❛ you know they used to hang witches back in the olden days. ❜
❛ this isn’t a spell, this is common sense. ❜
❛ this isn’t magic, it’s just glitter. ❜
❛ i’ve always wanted to live in a cabin in the woods though. ❜
❛ the best time to do a ritual is of an evening. ❜
❛ would like to do a healing ritual with me? it’s harmless. ❜
❛ let’s go candle shopping, come on! i love candles! ❜
❛ i’m still human, you know, with feelings! ❜
❛ you know, there is something else i possess; feelings! ❜
❛ look, it’s really not like any of that. ❜
❛ what’s so special about it? nothing, of course. it’s not special. ❜
❛ i don’t feel any greater or better because of it. ❜
❛ there are spells/potions that can be used for both, good and evil. ❜
❛ i would rather not use magic/my powers, i’d rather pretend i don’t have any. ❜
❛ i would never flaunt it as if it’s something so great to have! ❜

                                                  How to Open the Veil

The Veil is what separates our physical realm from the spirit world. By opening it, we’re able to communicate more freely with spirits. Essentially, you’ll be making a door and opening it in order to reach the spirit realm.

Disclaimer: I’m not an expert at this, please don’t take my word as the final say. I just started practicing this technique and was taught by a close friend. Always be safe when you practice because if you’re not careful, you can get into some shit. I’m writing this post by popular demand.

STEP 1: BE SAFE. The picture above is a little preview of the layout I used in my own dorm room. It’s hard to see, but I first drew a chalk circle and sprinkled black salt all along the edges of said circle. I also put four crystals at each end to mark it. Why do I have so much shit everywhere?? Because I don’t want anything to come through the door I created and cause problems. This circle keeps unwanted spirits out. (Granted, you don’t have to use as many things as I did. I find that a physical circle is just easier to visualize.) You can also use candles or anything else that works for you!

STEP 2: MARK THE DOOR. I used sun and moon candle holders with electric candles in them (since I live in a dorm and can’t use real candles). I set them apart from each other, like I was making, well, a door. Then I used some Super-Moon water to draw a line between the two candle holders to amplify my energy. Finally, I also sprinkled a line of black salt to stop unwanted and harmful spirits from coming through the door.

STEP 3: RELAX. Get into the state of mind you need to be in to do witchy stuff. Meditation, grounding, singing–whatever you need to do to access your energy.

STEP 4: STRETCH YOUR ENERGY. Whenever you feel ready, slowly pool energy into you palms. Then push it through the marked entrance where your door is going to be, imagining it as a thread, string, or cord connecting to the spirit realm. This might be difficult, especially if the veil isn’t exactly thin where you’re at. You may feel your energy bounce back, or that you’re hitting a wall. If you do, don’t worry! You can always pull back, gather your energy, and try again.

STEP 5: CREATE A BRIDGE. You’ll know the moment when your energy connects to the spirit realm. It feels different for every person–for me, it’s almost like this tug in my gut and the feeling of a thread connecting my hands and body to something else. Once you feel that, it’s really up to you on how you want to create the bridge! For me, what works best is when I imagine myself walking across the thread of my energy towards the spirit realm. As I walk, my energy begins to create the bridge. There might be another door on the other side once you cross the bridge (it’s really up to how you visualize). If there is, open it.

STEP 6: OPEN THE DOOR. Once you’ve made the bridge, feel and hold on to that connection. Then, imagine a door leading to the bridge through the physical boundaries you created earlier. This door can look however you like–whatever’s easiest for you to imagine! Then, use your energy to pry open the door. After that…

Congrats! You’ve successfully opened a door to the spirit realm! You should be able to feel the difference in energies. It’s kind of hard to explain how it feels–almost like this vast, empty expanse and the chattering of lots of different spirits floating around.

When you’re done…

CLOSE THE DOOR. If you invited any spirits in to chat, say goodbye to the spirit(s) that you communicated with and ask them to leave. Make sure they leave before you close the door. If they refuse to, you might have to force them via your own energy (obviously, this is in the worst of situations. Try not to be rude if possible!). We’ve had to do this before and it’s not the most pleasant thing (haha).

To close the door, pull your energy out from the spirit realm. Imagine that bridge you created crumbling, until you can no longer feel that connection. Once you’re out, close the door, seal it up, and do anything else that feels necessary in order to break the opening. For me, I usually make a breaking motion with my hands to signify the cut-off connection. You can chant or say an incantation if you like as well. This is important, because you definitely don’t want to leave a door open for spirit to come through willy nilly!

                                                          Other Info

  • PLEASE BE CAREFUL!! If you’re not cautious, some bad spirits might be able to get through and that’s never fun. If possible, try this first with someone else (preferably someone who knows more of what they’re doing). If you can’t, make sure you have multiple backups, wards, and other witchy things to keep bad spirits at bay.
  • If you want to invite a spirit to chat, it’s probably a good idea to have an offering around, just to be polite. Tarot cards, pendulums, etc. are pretty awesome tools to use if you’re not great at telepathic communication!
  • Take everything spirits say with a grain of salt. They can lie just like people.

I hope this was helpful to those that asked! If anyone wants to add anything, feel free to. I’m by no means an expert, so if someone wants to add their expertise advise please do! If something doesn’t feel right, go with your gut–never do something you’re not comfortable with.

Be safe, fellow spirit workers and witches!

LAUNCHING FEBRUARY 12, 2017
(But here’s a sneak peak at what’s to come)

Dear N,
You make me happy. I wish, more than anything, that it was enough. But if I’ve learned anything recently, it’s that I am full of fear. I’m afraid that like those I loved before you, I will move on in search of something else, without really knowing why. I am always and forever looking beyond what I have, even if that is someone as gentle, patient, and loving as you. I am too afraid to end something with such potential to be so beautiful, but I know it is the kinder thing to do, for your sake. You deserve so much more than my indecisiveness and fear. I don’t have the courage to tell you this yet. It breaks my heart.
Love,
C.
