you own me 40 hours a week

What’s this? A God awful commission sample sheet? Why yes!

My friend and I want a place of our own. We gon’ be roomies. Main issue I see? I only make about $240 per paycheck BEFORE taxes come out of the check.
In case you missed it, I’m broke as fuck and won’t be able to contribute much. Woohoo for only getting fifteen hours a week at a dead end retail job. going to college and paying for that jazz isn’t helping.

SO I AM LENDING MY SERVICES TO DRAW AFFORDABLE ART (bear with me I’m awful at marketing this is why I don’t major in business). Information is below.

Style 1:
Full body: 40 USD
Half body: 35 USD

Style 2 (slightly more cartoony):
Full body: 25 USD

Style 3:
Full body: 15 USD
Half body/headshot: 10 USD

I don’t charge for ONE extra character. After that (3 or more) it’s 5 USD per extra character.

Payments made with paypal in USD only, please!

All of these samples are also posted on my art blog, along with a ton of more art!!

Won’t draw:
fetish art
mech (like fuckin’ transformers. I can draw androids or something humanoid)
anything involving racist, sexist, or anything of the sort, content
ANYTHING involving rated R (NSFW) content must be bought by someone 18 years of age or older and I must have some kind of proof that you are the age you say you are. Cause, uh, honey, I ain’t gettin’ in trouble. <3

I’ll…draw pretty much anything else that isn’t weird??? I’ll draw fandom stuff. We’ll talk about it. Please send refs, though!! I can work with written reference only, but uh….pics are the best for me.

Half of the payment MUST be made before I begin. The other half must be paid after I reveal the sketch. You reserve the right not to have your commission made into a speedpaint. I won’t even post it, if you don’t want.

Shoot me a message on tumblr, broski!
OR e-mail me at
Be sure to put COMMISSION FOR <insert username> in the subject so I know it’s important! I only work twice a week and my only class is like an hour long then I just do homework SO I’M PRETTY FREE 90% of the time. Just reach out. I’m here.

I won’t be salty if you can’t buy art, but maybeeee you can reblog?

So I start my new job on Tuesday so post won’t be like all the time.. unfortunately due to me working 40 hours a week.. morning to evening. So I’m going to try to post every 2 days and what I mean by that is.. posting my own pictures every 2 days I will be active even if I don’t post!  if i don’t end up posting every 2 days i will most likely post during the weekend since i don’t work the weekend! <3 <3 and thank you too the follower who bought theses cute socks off my wishlist <3 I love socks <3

Welcome to May’s Challenge!!

I got really behind with things, and never put up the sign up…so we shall have a slightly delayed start to this month…but maybe 3 days is what we need to get pumped to KICK SOME WORKOUT ASS!!!

This month you will be working in groups to achieve points by working out in order to make your group number one!

Each Group Will Be Representing a charity.

In honor of the group that wins with the most points I will donate $25 dollars to the groups charity!

You Have Been Challenged…

You are challenged to work out as many days as you can, and keep track of the time length of your workouts.

Please keep in mind this is a healthy competition to stay motivated with working out. Please do not try and do more than your body is capable of doing, just to win. Stay comfortable, and be healthy about it.

Each week you will submit to me the days that you have worked out detailing what activity you have done to work out and for how long.

I will post weekly updates on where the standing of each group is.

How Do I Get Points For My Group?

You can achieve points based on the below point system in regards to time length of your workout.

  • 15 - 20 Minutes = 4 Points
  • 21 – 30 Minutes – 6 Points
  • 31 – 40 Minutes = 7 Points
  • 41 – 50 Minutes= 9 Points
  • 51 – 60 Minutes = 11 Points
  • 61 – 90 Minutes = 13 Points
  • 91 – 120 Minutes = 15 Points
  • Over 2 Hours = 18 Points

*Note you have to do at least 15 minutes to considered starting off towards working towards points.

How Will This Be Tracked?

This will purely be on the honor system. So please no cheating, and don’t ruin this for others by lying.

I will ask that Monday - Sunday you keep track of your own workouts and times (week one will be Thursday-Sunday)

At the end of Sunday/ beginning of the following Monday you will then message me or *e-mail me your weekly results so that I can mark them down.

PLEASE include the number date, time length, associated points per day, and overall added total.

*I have had a created e-mail for almost a year now specifically for this challenge that you will be given the information for at a later date.

You need to have specifics for each day, just so I know how you achieved your points

  1. 3/2 (Sunday) - 40 minutes walking = 7 points
  2. 3/2 (Sunday) - 30 minutes Gym = 6 points
  3. ¾ (Tuesday) 15 minutes jump roping = 4 points

*It is possible to earn more than one set of points in a day if you do different activities

Reminder : You have until the end of May 3rd  to sign up for this challenge.

Was it hard to move out so young? Im planning on doing it any tips you could give

It was hard to move out, but necessary.

I had a job from the time I was fifteen and had several months worth of rent money saved and my own car at 18. I moved into my own apartment as far across town as I could get and didn’t have any roommates because I didn’t want anyone else’s issues dragging me down. I didn’t want to have to depend on anyone else for rent money, utilities etc.

I worked full time, 40-50 hours a week and went to college at night so I could stay in school.

It was incredibly hard, but absolutely necessary. It would have been worse to stay home.

My boss asking me if I can work 52hours /week was not a joke lmao. I laughed for 15 minutes straight on his face and then realized he was been completely serious.
So I’m guessing now I’ll be fired. I’m currently working 20 hours/ week and that’s alright with me. Legally the maximum can be 40 hours/ week so now I’ll need to contact with the workers union.

Not tryna be mean or anything but I requested something about E&G and role play costumes not long ago, I was just wondering if u never saw it or if u are always busy

I have seen it and it’s still there! I do these by order that they are sent to me so that I don’t skip out on anyone. I have quite a few asks, and I’m also working on my mini series as well. I do also work a full time job which includes 40+ hours a week, so I truly apologize for my lack of time. I would love to be able to write so much for you guys, but I do own my own home and have plenty of bills and responsibilities, so I try and do what I can! I will get to yours, I promise!

The time got away from me and I haven’t started June’s sign up yet! AHHHH! Well, that’s okay! We will just have a delayed start to June.

Sign Up will be from May 31st - June 3rd! SO GO!!

You Have Been Challenged…

Each month EVERYONE who would like to participate will be given the chance to meet the Monthly Workout Challenge goals.

The challenges can vary from tracking your daily workouts, tracking your miles (and going the distance), and even participating in a virtual race with other participants.

Each month I will take down names of participants, with the goal of working out through the month.

For June:

You are challenged to workout as many days as you can, and keep track of these workouts.

Please keep in mind this is a healthy competition to stay motivated throughout the year with working out. Please do not try and do more than your body is capable of doing, just to win. Stay comfortable, and be healthy about it.

Each week you will submit to me the days that you have worked out, where I will then turn around a post a ongoing ranking for those participating and with how many workouts completed thus far.

In May working out a minimum of 40 minutes within a day will qualify you for a day marked off for working out.

I will NOT be counting multiple workouts within a day, but just the fact that you worked out on a day.

However, you can combine workout times to equal 40 minutes, for example if you did a short 20 minute workout in the morning, and another 20 minute at the end of the day. Either way to qualify for a day to be marked of a workout(s) of (minimum) 40 minutes needs to have been done.

How Will This Be Tracked:

This will purely be on the honor system. So please no cheating, and don’t ruin this for others by lying.

I will ask that Monday - Sunday you keep track of your own workouts.

At the end of Sunday and between the start of the next Monday you will then message me or *e-mail me your weekly results so that I can mark them down.

*I have had a created e-mail for almost a year now specifically for this challenge that you will be given the information for at a later date.

You need to have specifics for each day, just so I know how you achieved your 35 minutes.

  1. Monday - 40 minutes walking
  2. Thursday- 15 minutes morning walk and 30 minutes at the gym
  3. Saturday- 1 hour jogging

At the end of each week I will post an update of the current rankings, along with a workout reminder.

If you would like to be a apart of June’s challenge please like or reblog this post and you will be considered entered for the challenge.

You have until the end of June 3rd to sign up for this challenge.

Our official start day will be June 4th!

A final ranking list will be posted shortly after to verify who has signed up.

Lastly, I am also doing this to keep me motivated as well, and will be throwing my hat into the ring. I promise to be completely honest with my workouts.

Here me out for a min..

If your parents pay for your college, you work less than 20 hours a week, and have food and a place to call home (even a dorm)…you do not know how lucky you are.

I wish I had that, so much. Any kind of help would be nice. Working 40 hours a week, school full time, commuting between three cities to do so, struggling to pay my own bills or pay for necessities, finding maybe just a lil time to work out so I don’t atrophy away…is hard. Social life? Nah. Sleep? Barely.

I run on adderall and coffee. I sometimes have to remind myself to eat because those two curb my appetite to the point I’m not hungry. My one day to sleep in was Memorial Day, and my next one will most likely be thanksgiving.

I consider myself fortunate enough to have a roommate who helps take care of my dog while I’m at school, friends who support me, teachers who understand, and a job where my boss lets me get away with doing homework on the job in down time.

I hate it so much that our generation is so politically inactive. We are the largest generation in the history of our nation. We have so much power, and we squander it because we think the opposite. If every one of us voted, the people we make fun of would be out of office in one election cycle. We can do it. We can change not only the political system, but every aspect of American culture.

I will work through this. I will climb the ladder of life and not forget where I came from, and the others who struggle along side me just to survive in a world ruined by the generation preceding us.

Count your blessings. Love you all, Doug

Do some people just become nurses for the pay? Half the people I know are going to school for nursing cause they couldn't find a job in their first career choice.

God bless the poor, dumb soul that goes into nursing for the pay. I promise as a nurse, you earn every dollar you ever make and then some.

So here’s the thing, yes, a lot of people go into nursing to have decent(ish) pay, job security, and career options. Is it wrong to go into nursing for these reasons? No. Do you need to bring other things to the table like compassion & integrity? Absolutely.

I love being a nurse.

But….. I spend 40 hours a week on my feet, worried about everything from sodium levels to skin integrity. Doing my best to care for my patients and keep this doctor happy, while charting everything obsessively, in case a lawyer calls me up about this patient 4 years from now.  When patient and their family members are rude and demeaning, I am diplomatic, and kind. When my own body dehydrates over 12 hours with barely a sip, I continue.

Ask yourself, would I take on that risk, liability, stress, and responsibility for free?

Who am I to criticize another nurse for the reason he or she chose nursing? As long as they are taking good care of their patient, I’ll stay in my lane.

The Truth In Los Angeles

There isn’t much truth in the city of LA. Well, there is, but it’s sprinkles of truth. You see, most people (that I encounter) are here for the entertainment industry. Everything is here, musicians, dancers, writers, actors and the list goes on. This is fine obviously, it takes a lot of courage to leave the comfort of “home” and family to come to a big city and make your dreams come true. There’s something I don’t like though and it’s that you can never get a straight answer out of what anyone’s actual life is because they have this lie that’s almost rehearsed that they tell over and over again to anyone that may ask.

So, for example if I meet someone at a party, just a small gathering of friends of friends- and I ask them, “So, what do you do?” Oh boy get ready, here it comes!

Lie or extremely over exaggerated truth, however you care to view it- “I am a photographer. My work is currently being looked at by [insert important name here] and I’ve been talking to [insert popular agency here]. I’ve published 2 books and you should also check out my website. I’ve traveled to places like [insert cool city/country here] and shot beautiful models. I live in Beverly Hills, you should come have lunch with me sometime, it’s a short stroll to [insert fancy restaurant name here] from my condo. This week I’m slammed with meetings, I know [insert at least 3 famous people] so maybe we could meet up the following week?”

Truth- “I am a bank teller at Wells Fargo through the weekdays. In my free time, I’ve been pursuing photography, I think I’m getting pretty good. My friends have talked to a couple mid level agencies but nobody has picked me up yet, I put out a few e-books on my own though. You can see the e-books on my website along with some of my other photos. There’s not a lot on there because I’m wiped out after 40 hours a week at the bank but sometimes I take a free Saturday to try and shoot something. Maybe once a month or so. Last year my family went to Italy and I got some amazing photos of the city, you should check those out too. My sister is adorbs so I had her model in some of my pics for me. I live outside of Beverly Hills with 4 roommates but I have my own room, I often like to Uber or take a long walk to the actual city of Beverly Hills to just hang out. Hey! We should grab coffee sometime, I can’t afford to eat out for lunch but let’s definitely grab coffee!”

Okay, now that I did that, their truths sound kind of lame but they don’t have to put it ALL out there right away just like that- just don’t lie is all.

When people ask me what I’m up to I know they expect this long drawn out impressive piece of information about myself and adventures but I like to keep it short; “I live in Weho and I own a website.” They just look at me with so much disappointment every time and of course I have so much more going on than that but I just can’t even handle the thought of being one of those people. I don’t want to come off as one, sound like one, be one, ever.

I know this to be fact because it’s taken 20 coffee’s or more to learn the full truths of people here. They are like an onion and I have to pull back layer after layer. I definitely miss the Indiana way about people. They know their truths and are almost embarrassingly honest. No, not almost- they are, as am I for the most part. And it’s amazing to me how many people here don’t like my truthfulness even though they don’t fully recognize they don’t like it. Like when I feature danced- I just said I stripped at strip clubs. I guess a lot of girls tell them they “dance” or “perform” at “topless” or “gentlemen’s clubs”. I’ve been to every kind of strip club there is and I assure you, when the girls are in that back room- all that matters is how much money they are getting. (My apologies to the .00001% of strippers that don’t fuck in the back room, I have yet to meet one of you, you’re like a unicorn, I’ve heard of you but haven’t seen you in real life).

Anyways, people love to lie (and to my surprise) be lied to here in LA. People believe what they want to and if they like you, they’ll believe anything you say so pour it on, they’ll love every second of it.

I don't mean for you to take this the wrong way, but it seems like you almost don't care about this blog anymore. You keep springing new ideas and possible ideas and the ads and it just seems like you're bored with what you have, and maybe want to try and make a buck instead of do them because they're fun. Maybe if that's how you feel you should consider moving on and giving someone else the chance to run this blog. Just a thought really.

Ok. So when I started this blog I made a promise that it would be a safe place kinda blog where no matter what was said, the people responding would always respond in the most pleasant and polite way possible. Right now I am having a lot of trouble doing that. No promises that I will be polite.

I love this blog with all of my heart. I don’t think there’s anything that I love more than this blog. It is my pride and joy. I literally tell everyone about it, even strangers. I love that at the end of a stressful day I can open up my computer and just calmly work on this blog for an hour or so and not add anymore stress to my day.

I am not bored with this blog. Quite the opposite actually. I always want to do more and improve more and figure out what else I can give you all because I love this blog and I want to see it stay for a long time. I want to see it help hundreds of thousands of people who find comfort it its existence. I care too fucking much about this blog.

It genuinely hurts me so much when people call me terrible names for trying to monetize this blog(which we don’t anymore so any ads you see are tumblrs not ours). People act like running this blog should be fulfilling enough on its own and that not doing a fuck ton of work for free automatically makes me a terrible person who is using and abusing the followers of this blog.

Let me tell you something. I work my ass off. I go to a job that I hate and make just barely above minimum wage. I work less than 30 hours a week because corporate america would rather pay 4 workers to work 10 hours than one to do 40. I’ve been applying to jobs every single day for 6 months trying to find a second job. I do degrading odds and ends jobs just to make it by. I haven’t slept in months! I live in constant fear everyday that I won’t have enough money to pay my student loans for the month, which just increased from 300 dollars to 700 this month. Do you know what happens when I don’t pay my loans? I lose my family. I’m literally disowned.

So I’m sorry if having ads on the blog inconvenienced you for a whole 3 seconds. I’m sorry I’m not trying hard enough or I’m trying too hard or I could be doing this one thing better or I’m selling out or I’m doing things that I can do within my legal right that just don’t sit right well with you. But I’m not sorry. Because I’m scared and this blog is one of the only things I have that keep me grounded and so much as alluding to the fact that I don’t deserve it anymore infuriates me. The amount of time and effort I’ve put into this blog and this is what I get?

I know this is just one message in hundreds but the sour taste doesn’t leave your mouth once it’s there.

I try so hard and if you think I’m not qualified to run my blog any longer then please make your own.

So I'm writing a paper about how increasing the minimum wage isn't a bad thing and I know you've posted or reblogged some pretty in depth things about it and I was wondering if you could reblog again or link me to the post. Thank you!

In the 1970’s, minimum wage for unskilled labor for a 40 hour week allowed the employee to own a car, rent an apartment (without a roommate), pay their utilities, buy their groceries, go to concerts, purchase clothing, go out to dinner, take vacations, further their education and etc..

Paramedic’s Angry Post About “Burger Flippers” Making $15/hr Goes Viral And With Good Reason

a 10 percent increase in the wage is associated with a 0.4-0.7 percent increase in prices.

Minimum wage has actually dropped 33% over the last 35 years.

The Economic Policy Institute released a report estimating that raising the federal minimum wage to $10.10 an hour, up from $7.25 today, would add an additional 85,000 jobs to the economy on top of all the jobs we have now.

If the minimum wage were to go up, it has been found to create more jobs, and create more spending in the economy.

So I made a thing.

Many of you have been following me since I used to run all the time and I have to admit, I miss it. I miss running regularly and not feeling like death each time and I honestly miss the double digit runs. I decided to create my own very basic half marathon training plan because I wanted something that would be realistic and fit my personal needs. This isn’t intense by any means in terms of half marathon plans, but I will also be doing Hammer & Chisel at the same time. Those workouts are 30-40 minutes a day with Wednesday’s also being rest days. So here goes. Feel free to send me a message, anonymously or not, if you notice me slacking!

PS - I’m on my way to day 1 of student teaching soon. Halp.

Student teaching 5 days a week.
20 hours a week of work.
Capstone project & student work sample.
Hammer & Chisel.
Half marathon training.
Save all the monies.

^These next four months are really going to test my sanity…
