you need to get yourself a new show

anonymous asked:

My bf and first love just dumped me, do you have any advice to get through this. Because my heart feels so broken.

You will feel better again. It might take some time but you will get over it. Love hurts so much but there are so much great people out there that will show you love again. You will make new friends too. Try to distract your mind. Tell yourself that you deserve better and that you don’t need them in your life. Don’t stress over it. Try to look forward darling. Better days are coming.

You followed Sebastian into the large glass building. He lived in the penthouse loft at the top floor. It was exquisite. Dark mahogany lined the floors of the ivory colored walls. Windows lined the walls facing outward and you could see the entire city from the front door, mesmerized by the lights downtown. You noticed the curtains lining the windows were pushed back, allowing for more privacy if so wanted, but not like it was really needed on the top floor of this building. The furniture was mod-inspired but still relatively new. The furniture looked like it had barely been touched, it’s ivory-mocha blend color matching well in the loft.

Opportunities to Meet People In College

Before Move-In

Admitted Students Days.
Your school/uni may have these under a different name, but days where you can go to get to know more about the academic programs and campus activities.

New Student Send-Offs.
Casual gatherings hosted by alumni of your school/uni who live in your region.

People From Your High School.
Maybe you know people from your high school who got into the same college as you. Knowing some familiar faces can make adjusting to a new environment easier.

Class of 202_ Facebook Groups.
Student-moderated Facebook groups for prospective students. Be sure to look for the one that is moderated by current students at your school/uni. There are some that are affiliated with businesses and posts a lot of advertisements. Once you join, make a brief post introducing yourself. You’ll get better responses if you’re specific about your interests (talk about your favorite TV shows/movies/books, your major, what you’re looking forward to doing in college, etc).

Contacting your Roommate(s).
You’ll need to contact them anyway to make sure you guys know what you’re bringing for your dorm. Eventually, you can talk to them to get to know them better. Ask about their interest, but also ask about anything you should be aware of (e.g. allergies, sleeping/studying habits, etc).

During/After Move-In

Helping Others Move In.
Maybe someone's struggling to move a heavy box or needs some tape to hang their photos on their wall.

Keeping Your Door Open the First Couple Days.
Maybe one of your floormates will notice your cool collection of band posters and you two can bond over your similar music taste!

Orientations/Welcome Week.
Meeting people through activities or department-specific informational sessions the first couple days after move-in.

Joining Clubs, Sports, Fraternities/Sororities.
This one speaks for itself.

Creating/Joining Study Groups.
On the first week of class, ask your classmates if they’d be interested in creating an online study group, a place where you can share notes, ask for help, or get information about the classes you’ve missed. You can make a GroupMe (recommended for smaller classes) or a Facebook Group (recommended for bigger classes) or any other social media you see fit.

Good luck next year! Remember that it’s okay to be nervous. There will be lots of people adjusting to a new environment just like you!

here’s just a small list of study tips and tricks that i learned over the course of
attempting to take six ap classes all at once (don’t do that to urself pls):

  1. take notes - take all the notes! it doesn’t matter what way you take notes (cornell, etc.) it’s just a really nice way to make sure the material really sticks in your brain
  2. revise said notes - it’s all about beating the curve of forgetting; as long as your keep on revising and re-annotating your notes, you won’t need to super cram on test day. in addition to that, don’t highlight a dense block of text; underline, colour-code, and add notes to the margins. instead, if you just highlight like crazy, you won’t know what to focus on revising. not saying that highlighting is bad, just saying that overhighlighting is bad
  3. actually read the textbook - a lot of teachers assign pages of textbooks but i recommend reading the entirety of the textbooks and working through the examples. sure, it’s a little bit more work, but you end up with a well-rounded view of the topic/subject you’re studying (and i also find that a lot of teachers will skip important topics in the interest of time, so be sure to read the textbook so you don’t miss out)
  4. do all ya homework - so important! do the homework!!!!! you will not succeed if you don’t put in any effort and don’t do any of your work!!!!!!!!!
  5. if you have time do extra problems in your textbook - just for revision/practice!
  6. redo old hw assignments - this helps in revision, esp. in topics like math where you have to physically work out problems to understand concepts; you don’t get math by just reading the textbook, you have to physically DO problems
  7. maybe invest in a review book - it helps some people, but don’t completely rely on it; you still should read the textbook
  8. flashcards are the bomb - they help solidify learning and because of awesome apps like quizLIT (hehe) you can learn/revise on the go
  9. ask questions - the teacher wont bit your head off- they’ll be grateful that at least SOMEONE was paying attention in class
  10. pay attention to the teacher - if your teacher seems to repeat some terms over and over again take that as a hint to revise that, lots of teachers have really effective lectures too and its just a good thing to show respect to others too
  11. make metaphors/analogies for EVERYTHING - for example, think of the declaration of independence as a breakup letter or try to string together events like the revolutionary war together in a narrative style; this helps with memorization of factually-dense topics like the ones in APUSH
  12. study grps are aMAZING - very helpful 10/10 recommend and check out my post on this too
  13. call a friend - don’t be afraid to ask for help. seriously. we all suck at things and its our job to get better
  14. relax once in awhile - you don’t need to study 24/7 to succeed. study smarter, not harder and TREAT YO’ SELF
  15. on the subject of music - listen to music if it helps you, but if you find yourself drifting off or enthusiastically singing to BTS’s new comeback, you gotta stop girl
  16. sleep - don’t pull all-nighters unless you need to; studies show that sleep helps in the consolidation of memories, etc. so get that sleep! that way you’ll be happier and more in the mood to study - its a marathon, not a sprint
  17. find textbook companion sites - very helpful, they usually contain self-quizzes and generally if your teacher uses the chapter tests provided, you can better tell what types of questions will be asked
  18. revise your mistakes - don’t just discard that test with the 94%, make sure you understand what you got wrong so you don’t make the same mistake again
  19. actively hoard your papers - old papers/tests/hw are the best review fodder so don’t loose it!
  20. track your grades - be on top of it always! if you have a missing assignment or if a teacher put in the wrong grade DON’T HESITATE TO EMAIL THEM
  21. find other resources when your teacher sucks at teaching - khanacademy is amazing. enough said
  23. self-care is important - if your sad tired or angry, YOU WONT GET ANYTHING DONE so do yourself a favor and take a nap or watch a movie, idk
  24. figure out what works for you - i like the pomodoro technique but other people do different things so just do what works
  25. you’re fantastic and you got this

Obviously there’s a LOT more tv shows that I’ve watched, like a 100 more, so if you want more suggestions get back to me 😊  Enjoy!

40 tips for incoming college freshmen
  1. “I’ll sign up for morning class because I tookclasses in the morning in high school.” NO DON’T DO THAT YOU’RE GOING TO WANTTO KILL YOURSELF
  2. If you can,try to spread your schedule so it’s 9-5. It’ll get you used to functioning atthose hours.
  3. Go to seminars. Pick up on some random shit. Impress people with random shit. But don’t be cocky.
  4. There’s literally no popularity so you really don’t have to fucking deal with cliques or anything just find your group and branch out and go from there.
  5. If you’re drinking:
    2. Have a cup of water (or a bit of Gatorade) between every drink. You’ll never get a hangover.
    3. Don’t be fucking loud. Everyone hates the loud drunk and you’ll get the cops called on you and that’s bad shit.
    4. Don’t mix your liquor with other liquor and oh my God don’t mix it with anything else like drugs that’s just asking for a crisis.
    5. If your buddy is in a really bad place call 911. Don’t be that douchebag who thinks that someone can sleep it off.
  7. College is for expanding your mind. Talk to friends about their majors. Attend their events or art shows. Talk to someone you met about their religion. Take an English class on Lord of the Rings. Learn things you wouldn’t normally learn in high school.
  8. Love might come. It might not. Don’t worry about it and it won’t be a problem. You’re young.
  9. Don’t be the douchebag who plays acoustic guitar in the lounge.
  10. Have fun because you’re spending a fuckton of money to be there but do your homework.
  11. There’s a general rule of college that if you were sitting in that seat for over two weeks, that is your seat. Not many if any professors have seating arrangements but switching seats will fuck everyone up.
  12. Get there early and stay late. As soon as you get home you will not want to do shit. Stay on campus and do some homework while you’re in the environment.
  13. SIT UP FRONT. The best way to start understanding something is to listen to someone talk about it and you can’t do that from the back of the class trying to listen over everyone whispering to each other. LISTENING WILL MAKE HOMEWORK SO MUCH EASIER.
  14. Be childish, but be respectful. Have a massive snowball fight across campus, but don’t aim for anyone not taking part.
  15. SHUT THE FUCK UP IN THE LIBRARY. Some people work there, some people sleep there. It is a quiet space.
  16. Don’t be afraid to talk to professors. They are not there to flunk you. They would rather you pass than not.
  18. Get involved. It will help you make friends, give you new skills to learn, and even help you get a leg up in the work place if you know the right people.
  19. Take time for yourself—buy a planner, figure out when your best study hours are, figure out WHERE you study best, and figure out how much time you need to complete an assignment—AND THEN make sure to pencil in an hour for video games, some time to watch a TV show, or time to just lay on your floor and blow bubbles. Whatever you like. Don’t forget about YOU.
  20. SLEEP. EAT. DRINK WATER. Don’t die. Caffeine =/= sleep. I cannot emphasize that this much.
  21. COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR INSTRUCTORS! If you’re sick, shoot an e-mail and say “Hey, I’m sick today. Can I set up a time to talk to you about what I missed?” If you’ve got a good opportunity (scholarships, to go to another country, to check out a cool lecture, etc.) let your prof know ahead of time. If you just need time to work on projects, all it takes is an e-mail. We understand. I gave a student a free skip day because he e-mailed me and said “Hey, look, I have two massive tests and a project due and I need the time to study.” And THAT IS OKAY
  22. Before signing up for classes, look on “" and see if the teachers at your campus are included. There may be two or more teachers for the same course, and you want to try and pick the good/easy one. Who your professor is can have a great affect on what grade you make, even for the “same” class.
  23. Look for a facebook group for your “graduating class” set up, which is a good way to make friends and find people with similar interests (particularly for introverts).
  24. Look for a facebook group for your “graduating class” set up, which is a good way to make friends and find people with similar interests (particularly for introverts).
  25. If no one else does it, make a google doc of the exam reviews and post it on the class facebook page. That way everyone contributes to the review. 200 brains are most definitely better than 1.
  26. During lectures, unless Internet is required, TURN IT OFF. If it’s on, you WILL end up on tumblr or some other site, and you will miss important shit.
  27. For the love of God, pay attention to your syllabus. Sometimes assignments are listed there, and that’s the only place it’ll be mentioned. Also, if it says to do a reading by a specific date, DO THE READING BY THAT DATE. Otherwise you will get behind, and you will have 200+ pages of textbooks to read in one night before the test, and you will cry.
  28. Yes you actually need to do the readings. Yes it is a lot. Yes it will suck. Do it anyways.
  29. If you are used to getting all A’s, do not cry when you get a B. Take it from someone who killed herself for two years to maintain a 4.0, it feels like the end of the world when your GPA drops, but it’s not. You’ll be okay. Just breathe and do your best. Your best is good enough.
  30. Try to make sure you leave an open hour around midday so that you have time to get food in you. A lot of people forget to do this. If you have to have back to back classes, check your syllabus or with your teacher—some midday classes allow you to bring in a drink and a snack. Some will even allow you a full meal.
  31. If you can get an online/pdf copy of the book without busting the bank, DO IT. Sometimes there are even annotated versions online. This can make notetaking a shitton easier, because you can highlight printed-out versions of the book and they won’t dock you on the money back. Sometimes professors move through their lecture too fast for you to write stuff down. Shrugging off that old ‘don’t ruin your books’ rule you had in high school may be your only hope.
  32. UNLESS YOU NEED THEM OR REALLY WANT TO KEEP THEM TRY TO SELL BACK YOUR BOOKS—maybe even offer them online to incoming students. You won’t get nearly the worth of them but someone after you will thank you a million times over for providing a used copy. If you take good notes, you can sometimes buy/sell those as well. A lot of professors teach literally the same class every time.
  33. IF YOUR PROFESSOR PUTS NOTES ONLINE GET THEM. GET THEM NOW. TRUST ME. YOU WANT THOSE NOTES. Bring them in with you if it’s possible to get them before class.
  34. Keep change on hand. Always.
  35. The Best Way To Make Friends:
    1. Bring a printer with you to college and offer to print people’s stuff for half of what the school does or for free if you can afford it.
    2. Carry around small candies with you and offer them to people while waiting outside of class. If you are the ‘candy person’ this gives you an in for starting conversations.
    3. Buy a jumbo pack of chalk and find an open sidewalk on a free day. Write the words ‘Come draw with me?’ and begin doodling.
    4. Have a pack of cards.
  36. If you go onto campus and you can’t find what you’re looking for, and you are afraid to go up to someone and ask, find an open, well-populated area, hold your schedule/map in hand, and walk in circles for a few minutes, looking up and around in obvious confusion. Other students know this body language well. Someone will stop and point you in the right direction. (if you are worried that the person’s directions are a joke or faulty, wait for them to leave and take up the stance again; if the directions match-up the second time, they’re legit; do not allow a person to ‘show you the way’ unless EVERY STEP is along an obvious walkway, just in case)
  37. For those of you who fear assault, most campuses aren’t much for small blades or mace. Carry a pocket air horn or a hand bag of those little pop-rock fireworks unless you can get a concealed weapons permit.
  38. Make friends with transfer kids. Chances are, they won’t be able to live in the dorms and it’ll be ten times harder for them to meet people since they have to drive to and from campus. It’s also fun hearing about their experiences before the college you both go to.
  39. Make friends with an older student. I’m talking about students who have families and full-time jobs. You can learn a lot from them, and they honestly have the best stories. They’re often the smartest and the most dedicated, so they make great study buddies.
  40. Your teachers are people! Joke around with them, talk to them a bit during break. Make sure they at least recognize you as “that dude with the god-awful puns during break”. In my experience, professors are even more willing to bend over backwards to help the students they know. (But also, in general? They want you to learn! If there’s a way they can easily help, there’s a really good possibility they’ll do it!

Headcanons for things that the boys would do for/to an s/o that they'd become attached to? (xeno AU)

Admin Mawile: ( ◞・౪・) Because of length, this part just covers the clinginess. There’s more, but that will be for other asks~

-He starts to be inexplicably close to you at all times, sleeping somewhere a mere few feet away and claiming that it’s just “coincidence”. It’s harder and harder for him to get proper rest without being able to smell you nearby, and the more attached he is, the greater the need to have you close.

-At first, he just gets fussy, following you around and complaining about every minute thing you do wrong. It quickly becomes obvious that it’s just an excuse to get close to you, especially when he starts demanding your help with random duties just so you’ll be forced to be near him.

-He very openly demands your company, and will resort to physically keeping you with him if you resist. He’s started to feel nervous when you aren’t close by, and that feeling makes him so sick, he has no choice but to give in to instinct and make sure you can’t leave him.

-From the first time he cries because you aren’t close enough, he more or less forces you to stay with him at all times. He refuses to admit that he actually wants you, and comes up with all kinds of strange excuses as to why you’re not allowed to be more than a few feet away.

-He despises having genuine feelings of any kind, and resists the impulse to need you for as long as he possibly can, even going so far as to distract himself with other lovers. When he finally does give in, it ends in even more intense possessiveness than usual, because of so long without.

-He absolutely hates admitting to needing you, and covers up the sudden need to have you close with flimsy excuses, many broken objects, and a lot of yelling. It’s almost pathetically obvious how your presence affects him, especially when he gives in and starts using force to keep you close.

-He’s extremely subtle, and does everything possible to hide how nervous he feels when you aren’t in his sight. Sometime around the time he starts having nightmares about you, he starts forcing you to stay close to him, claiming it to be just another way of controlling you.

-Despite being extremely wary of just how indebted to you he could become, he can’t fight the sudden, overwhelming need to have you near. It’s painfully obvious how frantic he is, and it’s very hard to feel anything but sympathy for how powerfully the new instinct affects him.

-Honestly. he’s dense enough that the attachment takes forever to really affect him. Once it does, though, it hits hard, and when you suddenly feel every bit as important as his family, you’ll find yourself forced to spend all but every second with a grouchy, newly overprotective Yuuma.

-If you though he was clingy before, you’re about to see just how bad it can get. His neediness absolute skyrockets, transforming into an all consuming need to be as close to you as possible. With no pride to stifle the instincts, he very quickly becomes consumed by them.

-He won’t show a bit of the new desire until it’s forced out of him. He forces it down and stifles every urge until it makes him sick, and by then, the pull is so strong there’s no way to manage it with dignity. His demeanor change from cold to viciously controlling in an instant.

-While he hates the idea of being bound to you by his own mind, even he can’t resist the instinctive pull for long. He becomes violently possessive and prone to even more risky behavior, caught between his hatred of giving in to the instinct and the desire to just be close to you.

Sirius Imagine 2

this is super cute i like it :)

btw’s my marauder’s nickname is cubs bc my animagus is a bear, but make it whatever you want!

You slid into a seat next to Remus and began piling food on your plate, “Merlin, I’m starving!”

Remus raised an eyebrow, “Why are you so hungry all of the sudden?”

“I seriously don’t think I’ve ever been this hungry in my entire life. I haven’t eaten all day.”

“What? Cubs, that’s not good for you.”

“I know! But I’ve been so busy lately I haven’t had time to eat, sleep,… shower,” you grimaced.

“You know what,” you said, standing up, “I need to get my priorities straight, I’m going to shower, and then eat if I have time.”

You rushed off before Remus could stop you, leaving him sighing. Sirius sat down next to him in the spot you had been taking up and began talking.

“What’s y/n up to?”

Remus remained looking at the door you had just gone through, “She hasn’t been eating or sleeping or taking care of herself, I’m kind of worried.”

“Yeah, me too,” Sirius sighed, “she’s been really stressed out about Potions.”

Remus looked over to Sirius with a smirk on his face, “How do you know that?”

Sirius blushed, “I… notice… things… Oh, shut up,” and then shoved a chicken leg into his mouth to excuse himself from saying anything more.

“Maybe you should help her,” Remus suggested, “I mean, Prongs is great, but he’s not the best Potions partner, is he?”

A lightbulb went off in Sirius’s head, “I’ll ask him to switch with me! You go with James, because your smart and can handle him, and I’ll go with Cubs, it’s perfect!”

He got up and rushed away, but not before patting Remus on the back, “Thanks Moony!”

You rushed into Potions class, late. You had eaten and gotten at least 6 hours of sleep, but that didn’t come without a price. You hadn’t been able to shower or prepare for the lesson today, so you had no idea what was happening.

“Cubs,” you heard Sirius say as he approached, “Say hello to your dashing new Potions partner!”

You frowned, happy Sirius was your partner, but worried about your friend. “What happened to James?”

“Ah, he agreed to switch with me, Remus was getting tired of me showing off all the time.”

You laughed, “Okay, sure. Whatever you need to say to get yourself through the day.”

“So,” Sirius attempted to be slick and slide over next to you, but ended up bumping into the cauldron, making you laugh. He blushed before continuing, “Do you know what we’re doing today?”

“No, actually,” you laughed nervously, “I didn’t have any time to prepare for today, so we’ll just see what happens. Do you know what we’re doing?”

“Yep.” Sirius grinned, popping the ‘p’ at the end of his answer.

You laughed, somewhat confused and his mysteriousness, and smiled at him, “Okay…. you wanna tell me?”

“Mmmmmmm, no.” He put his head on his hands, smirking.

You groaned, “You can’t at least give me a warning?” You put your head down on the table and gave him puppy eyes, “I wanna pass.”

Sirius felt his heart give a jolt but held his ground, keeping his cool. “I can’t tell you,” he sing-songed.

“Fine,” you sat back with your arms crossed.

The Potions Professor arrived shortly and stood in front of the class.

“Today,” he announced, “We will be making Amortentia.”

Half the class giggled excitedly while the other half groaned at the thought of doing work. You remained neutral, unaware of Sirius awaiting your reaction.

“Y/n and Sirius,” the Professor said, making you sit up straighter, “Seeing as though Miss Y/l/n has been lagging a little lately, you two may demonstrate to the class all the correct steps before we begin. You have twenty minutes.”

You gave Sirius a panicked look and stood up, terrified. Sirius walked behind you, putting his hand on your waist and whispering in your ear, “Don’t worry, you’ll be fine,” before walking to the front of the class.

You swooned internally and followed him up front to the cauldron.

After what felt like forever of you and Sirius crossing arms reaching for ingredients and quiet bickering, you had finally finished right before the Professor announced, “Time’s up.”

“Now,” he stood in front of the cauldron, “Tell me, what do you smell?”

You and Sirius simultaneously leaned in and took a sniff.

You smelled nothing except for Sirius’s stupid cologne, he just had to put on half the bottle every morning.

Sirius smelled nothing but your dumb peppermint shampoo, why did you have to use the whole bottle everyday?

You both shot each other dirty looks.

“Well,” you said annoyed, “if Sirius hadn’t used so much cologne this morning maybe I would be able to smell something.”

“Oh yeah?” Sirius scoffed, “Well is y/n hadn’t used the entire bottle of shampoo this morning maybe I would be able to smell something too.”

“What? My shampoo smells great! It’s not my fault that….”

You stopped. You hadn’t showered in about a week, you didn’t have the time. To be frank, you probably smelled awful.

“I-I,” you paused, unsure if you should say. After all, what would this mean? You looked at the potion and continued, “I haven’t showered in about a week.”

Sirius was looking at you when you looked back up at him, about an inch away from your face. He said quietly, “I ran out of cologne a month ago.”

Your eyes remained locked with his and your heart skipped a beat before you responded, “Oh.”

You glanced down at his lips and next thing you know Sirius’s lips are on yours and your hands are in his hair. James is shouting, “Fuck yeah!” while Remus whistles. The rest of the class is either cheering or ‘awe’ing.

You broke apart and smiled at him, giving a short laugh before turning to the Professor after hearing a cough.

“I suppose,” he began, “you’ve done the potion correctly. You may be seated.”

Sirius grabbed your hand and you walked back to your seats.

The whole rest of the class James would periodically turn back and give Sirius a thumbs up, making you giggle, but Sirius was too busy watching you and whispering jokes to you for the rest of the class to notice. It was going to be a great year.

Monsta X as best friends

Shownu:  the friend who’s always keeping you in line, yet knowing he’s always there to turn up with you and party whenever you’re stressed. He keeps you grounded and self assured so you’ll never feel bad or insecure about yourself, and he’s into deep conversations, bc that’s probably how you became best friends in the first place.

Wonho:  he’s got such an intriguing aura that you couldn’t help but introduce yourself when you first noticed him, and it’s crazy weird how you two got along so quickly and so well. You’re never surprised when people think you’re dating, since your closeness and skinship would be considered being more than friends to some people.

Minhyuk:  your crazy matched his crazy, and he knew from day one that you were meant to know each other and become besties. He’s the one who’s always waking you up at early hours in the morning to go do something fun, and always puts the blame on himself if yall ever got in trouble. This kid always has your back no matter what, and over time he’ll show a side to himself that not a lot of people see.

Kihyun:  the flirty best friend!! Doesn’t even see you like that tbh, it’s just fun making other people jealous when he likes them, and asks to use you as bait when trying to get to know them. You’re like Bonnie and Clyde, always getting yourself into some new hobby that involves a lot of parties and getting in trouble- but you’re inseparable.

Hyungwon:  the type of best friend who doesn’t need to be talking to you 24/7 to know that he’s still your best friend. Shows up out of the blue sometimes and decides to nap on your couch, and sometimes lives at your place as you two binge watch shows and movies together and talk nonstop without ever being bored.

Jooheon:  the best friend goals, everyone loves seeing you two together- or run away bc they know something always happens when yall are involved. It’s always party time with Joo, and he makes the best out of every bad situation. Probably shows his sensitive side only to you, and that’s saying a lot bc it’d take a while for him to open up.

I.M:  being best friends with him means never knowing what’s going to happen, and everything is always spontaneous. He’s a free thinker and likes to do things unexpectedly, and you two have the craziest bets on the silliest things. There’s like a 90% chance of this friendship turning into something more, bc he doesn’t put himself out there with just anyone, and would probably develop deep feelings over time.

I know that you'll get there somehow

When you’re confused, feeling down on your own
When your fire won’t light the way
That’s when you have to go in search of the unknown
The promise of a brand new day
If you don’t see it, then change your view
If you don’t wish it, it can’t come true
You must open your heart, let go of your doubts
It won’t rain forever, the sun will come out
You don’t need to know the answers now
Just believe in yourself and I know that you’ll get there somehow
Yes, believe in yourself and I know that you’ll get there somehow

Wow what a shit year! Not for anime, I mean, it was okay at worst. I think we’re definitely at the upward slope of the anime renaissance now, but still at the very start of it. It’s hard to think about that when most of what comes out (and is somehow popular) is just…the most generic shit. Well, I did the work for you. I weeded and trudged through some of the worst anime around and even some of my shit favorites to bring you the actual good, worth watching anime of the year.

Yeah, not everything you saw or want to see on this list is here, but you can check my foreword from last week that explains all that garbage. Links to each anime’s respective review will be on the titles (and added for those that just finished). Know that this list is pretty fluid. From 8 or 7 up, it’s all very much I loved them, but the higher up, the more I recommend anyone watch them.

10. Magical Girl Raising Project

Madoka was cool. I finally watched it this year and I was just as blown away by the psychological aspects as I expected to be. It just lacked that extra bite it needed to really scare my pants off. MGRP however, did indeed take a few years off of my life. I’m really in ruins right now since I can grab you by the shoulders and tell you now: you’ll like a lot of these characters and their thought out designs and personalities, but don’t get attached, cus ALMOST ALL OF THEM DIE.

I have to put MGRP on this list because aside from its fun and original designs, awesome interactions, cool-ass premise and execution (sometimes literally), it had some amazing rewatch value. I watched this anime three times, which is a lot to do in one year. I just had to watch people’s reactions and seeing stuff hidden in the background and revisiting some foreshadowing was so much fun. Definitely worth a watch and I’ll cover more about it in my upcoming review.

9. Orange

Regrets, like I have over not putting Kekkai Sensen into last year’s list, are the main theme of Orange. Buried under the shoujo themes of romance, high school, and angst, lies the actual regret: letting a friend kill himself. The main story unfolds itself very slowly as the group of friends discover that is what they must prevent, but it’s done in a realistic way. The signs of depression and suicide are so jokingly cast aside; it’s no wonder people miss it before it’s too late.

The climax of this story was heart-pounding and gut-wrenching. You find yourself rooting so hard for there to be success, to save someone who may not want to be saved, but must be saved. It might also make you pay closer attention to those around you. It’s an important anime to watch. If you do want one with a little less romantic emphasis though, I recommend you see Colorful instead (or also!).

8. Sweetness and Lightning

I need to marry someone who can cook. It doesn’t have to be a five-star chef, though I wouldn’t complain if it were the case, but Sweetness and Lightning reignited my need to be fed well. The show is about how food brings family and friends together. Aside from the great character interactions, well written children characters, and for god’s sake, the beautiful, perfect looking food, this anime was so pure in the amount of love put into it.

The food tops even some shown in Shokugaki no Soma, purely cus it’s doable for someone with a low skill level (like me), the meals are made for picky eaters (like me), and there’s not a ridiculously emphasis put on the orgasmic nature of food. That’s a thing that Shokugeki no Soma and even Koufuku Graffiti used stylistically in a comedic manner, but it doesn’t fit in Sweetness and Lightning for good reason. This show is accessible in that way, making it easier to show to someone who might want to try anime, but doesn’t want all the sexy fanservice.

Kick-ass and Metal come to mind when Drifters is mentioned. I love Kohta Hirano’s previous work, Hellsing, a lot. It was a massive gore and blood fest with a sprinkling of comedy in the mix. This is a war and gore fest with a, not a sprinkling of comedy, but more like Hirano accidentally knocked the bottle of comedy over when he was checking on the oven directly into said mix. It’s really funny, but also really awesome. I have a lot to say about it in my review, but I think a dog fight with dragons involved kind of state my case for me. Also Elves, Dwarves and other Tolkien demihumans and monsters abound. It’s fun.

The animation is also gorgeous, especially that stylized, graphic novel looking opening theme with the rock anthem “Gospel of the Throttle” making you “NA NA NA NA NA NA” along with the characters every opening. It’s an excellent show to watch with friends or get yourself pumped. Returning sometime next year!

6. Kuromukuro

How can something be so trope-y, yet so damn enjoyable? Kuromukuro isn’t an original concept, but is done in an original way. The samurai trapped in a machine for 500 years is the new exchange student. The reluctant heroine needs to board the mecha to fight the alien threat. The school festival has been compromised by an alien mecha entering the atmosphere. This anime is funny, but it’s also emotional and holds a much wider scope than I ever could have expected. P.A. Works has been putting out some good contenders in the last few years, and with their lovely art style and well-balanced budget, they were able to pull off this massive mech story in an engaging and entertaining way.

I applaud the cast for one of the best ensembles on this list, bringing forth some of the best and most memorable character chemistry of the season, and some hilarious situational humor. I also cried a little near the end, but honestly, a lot of anime on this list did that to me this year.

5. My Hero Academia

Shonen anime is such a delight now, always a favorite of mine as a kid, but not as firmly as now. I love the underdogs; I love the over the top villains; I love the powers, the fights, and the yelling to infinity. It’s just so exciting and blood pumping, and MHA made it so refreshing with such an interesting spin. These characters are children, inexperienced, with quirks that may or may not be useful. I love Deku because his anxieties and general feelings of being less than everyone else not only make it exciting to see him overcome them, but to use them to keep his head and ego from getting over inflated like some shonen protagonists. Bakugo is such a good foil to him, showing where this could be a major weakness to a shonen protagonist.

Also it’s coming back with THE TOURNAMENT ARC, and if you’re like me and haven’t started the manga yet, DO IT! You won’t regret it! I’m more than excited to see more of this awesome anime in action.

4. Flip Flappers

This anime, wow this anime. I’m so upset not more people are talking about it, but have you seen this delight for the senses? I’m looking forward to reviewing it now just because my jaw is still kinda on the floor. Beautiful animation, a crazy cool style, and some of the best nonsense in magical-girl but not really fight scenes I’ve seen in a while. This anime reminds me of something, but I can’t quite put my thumb on it. I do know it’s like an amalgamation of my editor’s anime “TYPE” so you’ll see more about that in the review.

But good lord did I love the heart of this show. The pure romance, the exciting battles, the trippy psychological horror. Let me just say, that one episode (the Maria Watches Over Us “GOKIGENYO”), probably has scarred me for life, but I love it. It’s just so different and good. It deserves a watch, just for how delighted your eyes will be.

3. Erased (Boku Dake Ga Inai Machi)

I love a story that can get you emotionally invested and cheering for or yelling at the character who you don’t have any control over. Erased was paced beautifully (though some might disagree due to the slight differences in adaptation), and its animation only made every silent, tender moment more enjoyable to look at before the lighting and mood would change and the feeling of bloodlust would stain the air. That’s how you write suspense.

I’m a little annoyed because apparently some other people were reading some character motivations “differently,” (looking at you crunchyroll), but I think it’s safe to say this doesn’t cross the line into romance, at all, and stays a thriller about growing up in a life-threatening situation.

2. Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu

I love the theatre, and I love comedy and storytelling. This anime manages to hit both of these points while showcasing some of the best animation I’ve ever seen. On top of the animation, there’s good directing, and supporting that is a great soundtrack. The story is vast and covers several characters’ lives over several decades surrounding World War 2.

The rakugo, though, is what makes the story. It’s not the first anime to touch on this topic, but it’s the first to do so in such an interesting way. It was very refreshing compared to a lot of titles on this list (though many of them are refreshing ideas!) with its originality. It’s heartfelt, it’s serious, it’s funny, but it also makes me want to cry. If it weren’t for the top spot being so hype as hell and generally a weekly freak-out among me and my friends, this would have been number one.

1. Mob Psycho 100
What can I say about Mob Psycho that hasn’t already been said? Its opening is gold, its animation is unique and interesting, its writing, directing, and characters are all praise-worthy. It is just hands down the best anime of the year. You may be thinking, “but Mitsu, One Punch Man was number one LAST YEAR. Isn’t Mob a little overhyped?”

No. Sit down and shut up. One is probably one of the best writers on the scene right now and is doing a lot better at writing genuinely empathetic characters and commentary on modern anime genres and tropes than most of the big budget barf fests. I think the “overhyped” talk is nonsense when it comes to mob. It genuinely does some interesting and groundbreaking work. That’s why it’s not only on this list, but number one. It never moved an inch since I decided it should be on the list.

Everything I’ve said has BEEN said by several really good reviewers and critics out there and you should definitely check out what they have to say about it too, because honestly, they’re a lot better than I am. I like Mob Psycho, I like One Punch Man, but I like Mob more. I’m so delighted that One Punch Man will be returning shortly and I only wish for Mob to also share the spotlight, as it deserves.

After your confession you’ll have to give him a moment to think about it. He would be heart broken because he didn’t notice it. From that day he would be oberve you to notice if there are new scars or if your behaviour is changing.
He would try to assure you that there is no reason to hurt yourself and if you feel that you need to do it he would try to get your attention from doing this.

He would be confused. Why you would harm yourself even when he was always there for you. Yoongi saw you as strong, confident women, similar like him. He would try his best trying to help you but not knownig what to do too much. When you’ll have a bad day he would leave everything to be there with you, showing all his love to you and giving you so much affection. He wanted to show you how much he care.

Hurt, shattered. He wanted all the best for you and now you are telling him about your problem. Hobi will do everything to help you. He can’t buck up after this confession. He wanted you to promise that you won’t do this again and if you will have any problems, he will the first person which will know about it to help you. You could always count on him when you’ll need  to cry on somebody shoulder.

He hadn’t expect that. He told you that this needs to stop with firm voice. But you saw that he is really worried in his eyes. Namjoon won’t leave you even for one step to have an eye on you. He will be big support for you.  Everytime being there for you even if you don’t want to.
He would make sure that your self-confident will be builed up for new. Taking you to cinemas, shopping, every where you would like to, to not think about problems which you are struggling.

When he hear it from you, he thought that it’s some kind of a joke. But when you show your scars to him he would take your wirst and kissing each of them every time telling you that he loved you and why you are special and precious for him. When you fall asleep in his arms he would look at you making plan in his head how to stopped you from doing this. He can’t look how really important person for him is giving a pain for herself

First feeling is confused. Second hurt. Third need to help her now but not knowing exactly how. He would bearhug you and don’t want to let go. You’re really meaningful for him and when you’re hurt, he is hurt too. He don’t want to lose you and want to help in every knowable way. So that means cuddling to make you feel better and all skinships that he knows. But still he can’t forget about your self harm and wanted to cry everytime thinking about that

Wanted to act this cool but he can’t hide his worried face. He would hide everything what was sharp and what you can use to harm yourself. Jungkookie would beggining for explenation. He wanted to know what he had overlook. Trying to help you and bring members into this situation to have more eyes looking at you. He would be always available for you to talk or cry. Maybe he won’t say to much to you but he know that talking to someone can help.

So I recently got around to color coding my gmail, and I thought it might be helpful to make a guide on how to do it! I find color coding email into certain categories to be helpful for finding things, as long as I don’t have too many categories.

Right now I have color codes for emails from my parents, from myself, about my new job, and of things that I need to do (for example if people email me tasks, forms, etc.) I was told at a seminar at my last job that keeping categories minimal is important, because otherwise you just have a large mess of colors. I know some people like only having “to do,” “doing,” and “done” categories, but do whatever works for you!

Now to the actual tutorial! (under a read more to keep this post short)

Frozen In Time (Part 2/?) (Stark/Rogers x reader)

Request: always-an-evans-addict said: Can I request some happy Maggie? Like in another family but living? Like a ‘Hey weak girl is super happy and so is Steve’ thing? Please? :3  I’m probably gonna change the name, but she’s getting worked into this!

Part 1

An Army.  From outer space.

You truly hated to find yourself agreeing with Steve in any way, but his words of pure disbelief rang through your mind louder than ever now as you stepped out from the elevator at the tower, seeing the destruction left behind by a battle that you barely understood.  You were pretty sure that Tony barely had a good grasp on it either, but in this moment, you had never felt more out of place in this future than you did right now. You closed your eyes and took yourself back to the moment when you met that young version of your husband, remembering his promise to be at your side and teach you how to survive here; you were counting on him fulfilling that promise again, perhaps more than before.

1. Maybe time heals all wound, maybe it won’t. So forgive yourself and forgive those who can’t forget your mistakes and allow yourself to move on.
2. Do not dwell on the past, it was there for a reason. It is okay to look back but never lock yourself in there. Old keys won’t open new doors.
3. Stop validating your happiness from other people. Being happy is always a choice. If they no longer make you happy, if they no longer exert effort, then don’t be afraid to cut ties. Never waste time on someone who no longer cares.
4. No matter how grave your mistakes are, doesn’t mean you don’t deserve a second, third or fourth chance. You always do, maybe you’re just asking on the wrong person
5. Never judge someone by how quick they fall in love, just because it happened so fast doesn’t mean it’s not real.
6. Forgive-yourself first, and then forgive others. It doesn’t equally mean forgetting but if they can’t forget then so be it. But never allow yourself to be okay with destructive and abusive behavior by those who can’t forget what you did including yourself.
7. Always make time for the people you love. It is true that you don’t know how long you’re going to last, so never be okay with just saying how much they mean to you, SHOW IT.
8. Stop shielding yourself from pain, it happens everyday and if you do you’re also shielding yourself from happiness. Catch it with your bare hands and then throw it away, let it be washed away.
9. Take care of yourself. Love yourself. And always remember YOU ARE WORTH IT. Sometimes you are so focused on putting others first you forgot you have needs too.
10. Good things take time, so be patient. Whether it comes to healing, or moving on or getting into a new relationship. One step at a time. Everything moves according to its pace so never rush because eventually if it’s meant to happen it will.
11. You don’t always have to be okay. You don’t always need to be happy. And you don’t always have to be alone, sometimes it’s okay to want someone who will tell us it’s okay to be sad and that’s okay.
12. It’s never wrong to ask, to say what’s on your mind, to say what you feel. You’ll never know the answer if you don’t ask and doubts will never fade if you let it remain as unsaid thoughts.
13. Let go of hurting. Let go of your mistakes. Yes you have the right to be hateful, to feel remorse, to be cold, to be harsh but the one who gets hurt the most in the end is you, not them.
14. Don’t hold grudges. Instead, choose to be better.
15. Never be afraid to dream, to hope, to do the things that make you happy.
16. Don’t keep on holding on to false promises - you deserve more than that.
17. Never, ever get tired of trying, of loving, of caring, of doing what makes your heart happy.
18. STOP CHASING. If you think you’ve done your part, it’s no longer your problem.
19. Stop explaining yourself to everyone. Not all has the heart to listen until the end of your story besides, you only need two kinds of people in your life : The one who listens and always understand the situation first and the one who never judge. Your people will value you and your feelings and if they don’t? They’re not yours.
20. Always choose the people who make you feel better inside. What consumes you, controls you. Always think and fill your mind with nothing but good thoughts.
21. Never allow your mood to dictate your actions and your manners. Anger is not worth it. Sudden burst of emotion can either ruin a relationship or hurt someone’s feeling. Learn the healthiest way to express your feeling. Bend and dissipate when anger arises.
22. You are allowed to pick the wrong choices, make wrong decisions, take wrong steps and turns because in the end, you’ll find your way.
