you made me love this kind of style

Drawn in a fantasy Lord of Rings / The Hobbit style.

Some people wondered if I was selling prints for this or would sell the original files. Id rather just share it and people can do what they want with it from there.

Below you can find a link to download the original PNG file, since Tumblr compresses images quite heavily. It’s relatively low resolution but still, if you do print this let me know, I’d love to see how it looks!

If you’re curious about how it was made or the kinds of tools and resources used, I’ve written a little overview on Medium which you can read here:

Q1. Your dream job when you were a child?
A badminton player when I was in elementary school. After that my parents bought me a computer so I got into gaming and wanted to do a job about gaming.

Q2. How did the members celebrate your birthday in 2017?
We were all practicing singing and dancing and the lights suddenly went off, then the door was opened and Jimin-san and V-san came in holding a cake.

Q3. When do you feel like you have become an adult!
I turned 20 in Japanese age in September! But actually I’m still a kid at heart, so truthfully I don’t really feel like I have become an adult.

Q4. In which moment do you feel like you’re still a kid?
For example, when I watch and think about a video or an interview. When I read people’s comments, I feel like even with the same question, they think from a much bigger point of view than me. That’s when I feel like maybe I’m still lacking in depth.

Q5. A work that touched you recently?
“Love, Rosie”. It made me touched because it’s a sweet but sad love story.

Q6. The kind of song you’re planning to compose?
Song of styles like future base and chillstep which I enjoy and listen to a lot.

Q7. Favorite dessert?
The Japanese snack kinako mochi. I like that it melts in my mouth because it’s just so fluffy! Also I ate cheesecake before the photoshoot for <non-no>. That one was delicious too♡

Q8. How do you take care of your beautiful voice?
I don’t pay particular attention to it… Like I just sing with my original voice I’ve had since I was born…

Q9. Any habit?
Covering my nose when I yawn. Not mouth but nose somehow. (laughs) And I pull the baby hair on my face unconsciously. I know about these things because fans told me.

Most importantly, he achieved all of this while promoting kindness (and being kind himself), embracing love in all forms, encouraging originality, being authentic and unapologetic with his music and stage presence, pushing the boundaries of pop music, never ceasing to show love to his fans, working extremely hard and making no excuses, and having a bit of fun.

You’ve got a bright future ahead, kid, and I can’t wait to see what you accomplish next

‘Meet Me in the Hallway’ draws from this rich tradition of the past and of rock music but it’s totally new sounding. Nothing out right now sounds like this song, I always love when I’m a part of something like that. It’s minimal and it’s magical. It takes you to another world. When they played it for me, I was reminded of when I was a kid and first dropped the needle on a Pink Floyd album I had never heard before. I’m not a big [pop] music listener. I listen to KLOS and KCRW and maybe the hip hop station. I’m kind of a classic rock dude. And Harry made a classic rock album. But that’s hands down my favorite on the album.
—  Jeff Bhasker talking about which track he’s especially proud of

When you leave a band or boy band, you feel like you have to go the complete other direction, and-and kind of say, “Don’t worry everyone. I hated it, it wasn’t me.” I loved it. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for that band, and i don’t feel like i have to apologize for that. I never felt like i was faking it.

A Tenderness They don’t Understand.

Hi my friends! I hope you enjoy this fluffy one shot. It was written in one go so please excuse any mistakes.

Plot: Harry and Y/N are utterly in love with each other.

Warnings: None. Well, it will make you want to be with Harry Styles.

Picture isn’t mine. Doesn’t he look just way too good in this one?

“You guys are too much.”

My friend’s words pulled me from my thoughts and for the first time in the past 20 minutes my eyes found a face other than Harry’s.

He was standing among a small group of his mates while I was sitting next to mine on the couch in Jeff’s living-room. The party he was hosting was nice however not half as small as he’d promised it would be, which had lead to me and Harry being separated the moment we arrived. I felt like a clingy, whiny, little girlfriend, the kind I never intended to be. My boyfriend had left my side for almost an hour now and it was enough to dull my mood completely.

Leila arched her brows and grinned knowingly. My cheeks flushed.

Though redundant I asked: “Who are you talking about?”

“You and Harry!” she rolled her eyes, “Obviously! The guy you’ve been eye-fucking for the past hour while he’s done the same thing to you. That man has you undressed in his head I can tell.”

Her harsh words made me shrink back a little and I swallowed the lump in my throat. Leila winked at me before laughing loudly and taking another sip from her drink.

“That’s not even true,” I argued quietly before changing the subject so she couldn’t say anything further.

Of course she hadn’t meant any harm with her words and while there was technically nothing wrong with two people staring at each other while thinking about something steamy, I didn’t like it at all when she suggested it.
It wasn’t like Harry and I didn’t occasionally send the other suggestive glances or knowing smiles from across a room but we hadn’t done anything like that tonight.

My eyes searched for him because he was almost like my magnet, my other half. I felt his presence like a warm and electric buzz, leaving my body tingling and longing for him. I was constantly on alert the second he left my side and I only felt truly at peace when he was back with me.
When Harry’s orbs searched for me it wasn’t because he imagined me naked in his bed. It was because he wanted nothing more than to leave the stupid conversation he was forced to listen to and instead wanted to be involved into whatever stupid chat he knew I was forced to feign interest for.
Harry missed me. His skin was covered in goosebumps and his muscles tense from not having me close, it didn’t matter if we were separated for two minutes or for two hours, the dreadful feeling at the bottom of both of our tummies was the same. Harry was so tender with me and he promised that I treated him gentler than anybody else ever had.

After two months of dating Harry I knew nobody really understood our relationship and I’d found ways to come to terms with that. It was their loss not mine.

A smile pulled at my lips. I didn’t need to look up to know that he was walking towards me and when his arm wrapped itself around my waist I didn’t flinch in surprise. Harry leaned down from his standing position so he could press a loving kiss to my temple before allowing his nose to gently rub against my skin.

“My love,” Harry murmured so only I could hear, “Are you enjoying yourself?”

“I am,” I smiled at him and reached up to caress his cheek and cradle his face in my palm, “And you?”

The warmth of his soft skin and the short stubble made me giggle and I felt my cheeks redden when he kissed my cheek noisily. He chuckled against me when the two girls sitting around me got up quietly to give us some privacy and I reached for his hands to encourage him to sit down.
The sofa dipped under his weight and I sighed when he finally wrapped both of his arms around me the way I’d wanted him to do for the past hour.

“I’m having only half as much fun when you’re not with me,” Harry admitted with a huff.

“Me too. Which makes us quite sappy, doesn’t it?”

Harry laughed at that and squeezed me to him. One of my hands rested on his knee, caressing and squeezing the skin while my other wrapped around his arm. I looked up and when his sparkling eyes found mine I leaned in to kiss his jaw. Harry hummed, his arms tightening around me.

“I like that we’re this way with each other,” he told me with a serious expression before breaking into the most gorgeous smile, “So romantic.”

“Me too,” I promised against the skin of his neck, “Wouldn’t have it any other way.”

We both looked up to find Jeff making his way towards us. He stumbled a bit and came to a halt right in front of our sitting figures. His expression was one of excitement.

“I just got the call from John! We spoke about the studio you wanted to rent and he told me it’s free!”

Harry’s eyes widened. “That’s great!”

“It is!” Jeff agreed, “Come and have a drink with me to celebrate!”

Harry pulled me closer. “M’okay, Jeff. But thanks! I’m quite happy here.”

Jeff rolled his eyes. “C’mon you can feel her up later, mate.”

“Thank you, Jeffrey,” I laughed and he flushed before nudging Harry’s foot with his own.

But Harry shook his head. “Nah, mate, really. I’m good.”

With a roll of his eyes Harry’s manager moved away again and I chuckled quietly.

“Our friends won’t ever invite us anywhere again,” I predicted.

“Great,” Harry laughed, “Means I can keep you to myself. Fine by me if I’m honest.”

“I agree,” I nodded before leaning into him.

My lips found his collarbones while his pressed to my head. Harry’s fingers intertwined with mine, my leg brushed against one of his and I pressed a loving kiss to his tender skin. Harry’s breath fanned over my arm when he leaned down and I gasped quietly before letting him connect our lips in a kiss.

Kissing Harry was something I knew I would never fully get used to.

His lips were soft and gentle when pressed to my own and when he moved them he never forgot to be attentive to what I did. A low moan left his throat and I fisted his hair in a tight grip, answering to his more urgent movements by holding his cheek and jaw with my free hand. His tongue licked my bottom lip and I whimpered quietly. We kissed and held onto each other with nobody disturbing us and when he pulled away from me I blushed at the mess I’d made of my boyfriend’s hair.

Harry’s nose nudged mine and I closed my eyes briefly, breathing his familiar scent in.

“I love you so much,” Harry spoke quietly.

My arms wrapped around his neck tightly in an embrace and I nuzzled his skin.

“I’m so in love with you, Harry,” I whispered.

He hummed. The room around us had gone so quiet in my mind we might as well have been alone. God I did I wish for us to be alone.

“How about we leave?” my voice was quiet and I gently scratched the back of his head.

Harry smiled and shrugged. “Sure, why not? Are you tired, baby?”

“No, but I want to be somewhere where I don’t feel like everybody is judging us for actually being gentle with each other.”

A frown formed on his beautiful face and I reached up to smoothen his skin.

“Who cares about them?” Harry asked quietly, “You’re my girlfriend. I’m your boyfriend. You can kiss me as much as you want and I’ll come over to hold you as much as I want regardless if our friends are jealous of that.”

I smiled and squeezed his hand. “You’re right. I shouldn’t overthink everything.”

So we stayed and with Harry sitting by my side, one arm around my body and lips occasionally finding my cheek to kiss, I felt really good.
Of course I still noticed Leila’s eyes on us and I could practically see her biting back her comments, but I didn’t care anymore.
Just as Harry had said I loved how much we adored each other and how utterly tender we always behaved with the other. It was something the others didn’t understand and that was their problem.

Thank you for reading! Little background to this one: I was sick all week, yesterday was the first time I felt okay enough to eat something properly and now today I got my period which means my body is once again blessed with an immense kind of pain. My life is so great. Anyway it made me really wanna have somebody like the guy in this one shot by my side.

devastated- h.s imagine

Harry let out a puff as he stared at the ceiling above him. Lately he hasn’t been able to get a good night rest. He looked over at his bedside table and saw a picture frame of you he couldn’t bare to take down. With a sigh, he reached over and picked up the picture. His fingers slowly traced your smiling face. He knew exactly why he couldn’t fall asleep. It was because of guilt. He felt so guilty and so disgusted with himself, it was like his body was purposely keeping him awake. Every time he closed his eyes, he only saw you. Every time he was with his friends, his mind drifted to thoughts of you. You consumed what was left of his sanity.

Harry put the picture frame down and decided to make himself a cup of tea in hopes it’ll settle his thoughts. He threw the covers off of him and walked downstairs into the kitchen. He opened the cabinet and pulled out the kettle. While waiting for the water to boil, Harry began staring at the kitchen table in front of him.

You let out a sigh as you stared at the dinner you prepared for you and Harry. Earlier that day while you were at work, Harry called you on the verge of tears. He was working on his first solo album. He wanted everything to be perfect because not only will it showcase him as an artist, it was a gift to his fans. He had to have everything perfect and he called you in fears of it not being enough. You managed to calm him down and assure him that everything he did was near perfect in your eyes. You told him that his fans will be incredibly happy with anything he does. You also told him that once he was done at the studio, you guys will have a nice night at home. You wanted him to have a little break from all this worrying.

You glanced at your phone resting on the table and noticed the time. 10pm. After your suggestion of a quiet night in, Harry was ecstatic. He promised he would be home as soon as he could.

You debated whether or not you should just eat without him, after all, dinner was supposed to be three hours ago. Just as you were about to take a bite of the cold food, you heard keys jingling at the door. Harry’s head turned the corner where he saw you at the dinning room table. “There she is!” he smiled. He walked over and gave you a quick kiss to the cheek. You ignored the slight alcohol smell and smiled softly at him, “Hey. Where were you?”

Harry sat in the chair across from you and slightly pushed the plate of food away from him, “I was complaining to the boys how stressed I was. They suggested a little night out” he answered. You nodded your head slowly, “Well are you hungry? I can heat this up really quick.” You stood up and grabbed the plates before Harry interrupted, “Actually, I had a quick bite already. But I’m sure we can eat this tomorrow?” You slowly sank back into your seat, “Oh…Yeah. I guess so…”

Harry smiled and walked back over to you. He pressed a kiss to the top of your head. “Come on. I’m exhausted. Let’s go to bed.” Before you had the chance, Harry was already walking out of the room.

The sound of the kettle whistling interrupted Harry’s reminiscing. He quickly shook his head to get the guilty feeling out of his head. He should’ve rushed home to you. He should’ve turn down the boys and a promise to hang out another time but instead he took advantage of your love. He poured the liquid into his mug and made his way to the living room. He placed the mug on the the coffee table in front of him. Just as he was about to reach for the blanket that is usually kept on the couch, he paused.

You were sitting on the couch with the blanket thrown across your lap. The movie playing on the tv was paused as you were watching Harry pacing back and forth with his phone pressed against his ear. “What do you mean it leaked?” Harry muttered into the phone, his fingers pinching the bridge of his nose. You noticed how tense his shoulders were and how his eyes were closed out of frustration. You felt heartbroken about the situation. For the past couple of days, you knew how excited Harry was to finally release his first single. You knew him and his team were very stern about who could and couldn’t listen to it. Hell, you were almost on the list of people who couldn’t get a preview but eventually Harry let you listen. You honestly didn’t know how this could have happened.

Harry groaned loudly as he hung up. He plopped next to you. You tried to wrap your arms around him but Harry quickly shrugged you off. “Please, Y/N. Not now.” Your arms immediately  went to your side as you nodded your head. Harry was fuming. You could tell by the way his breathing got heavier as he tried to calm himself down.

You bit your bottom lip softly and wrapped the blanket around you tighter. “Is there anything I can do for you?” you quietly whispered. Harry looked over at you with the most vicious look he could give. “Can you un-leak my song? Can you find the bloody bastard that leaked it?” You opened your mouth to speak before Harry continued, “Cause if not, just leave me alone.” And with that, Harry stormed away from you and into the bedroom where he slammed the door.

Harry remembered the next morning after he yelled at you, you were sleeping on the couch with the blanket wrapped around you and a tear stained face but he never apologized. Instead, the two of you pretended that night never happened. He should’ve apologized. To take out his anger on you was terrible and wrong. Harry scolded at himself. Out of all the things he’s done in his life, that night will always be his biggest regret.

Wanting to forget about that night, Harry made his way back into the bedroom. He leaned on the doorframe as he took in his surroundings. While this room held so much precious memories of you and Harry, it also held one of the worst.

“Why are you being so selfish?” Harry yelled out as he stood in front of you. You quickly sniffed as you sat on the bed. “This is my dream! And instead of supporting me, you decide that your job is more important!” Harry shouted.

You finally managed to look up at Harry. Through your crying you managed to get out, “I can’t leave work for that long, Harry.”

Harry rolled his eyes and let out a scoff, “Then quit for christ’s sake!”

“I can’t quit!” you tried reasoning with him, “Plus let’s say I do come along with you on tour? What am I supposed to do while you’re off doing interviews and your shows? Do you expect me to stay locked up in the hotel room?”

“I expect you to be there, supporting me!” Harry yelled. All he could see was red. Even though he knew you were right with every single word you were saying, he couldn’t bare the thought of being without you for so long. He loved you and you not wanting to go with him made him believe you didn’t care for him as much as he did for you. And that made him furious.

“I’m so sor-” you said before Harry interrupted you. “Get out.”

You quickly stood up and tried reaching out to him but he was just as quick to move away, “Harry, please.”

Harry turned his back to you. “Let’s just make things easier. With me going on tour and you not coming, this is going to happen sooner or later. Why waste time? We’re done.”

Harry wiped the tear that managed to escape his eye. He sat down on the bed and began sobbing softly. You were the best thing that has happened to him. You were kind, you were understanding, you deserved everything good in the world. Harry took advantage of your love, he took you for granted, and now he had to live with the biggest regret he’s ever made. He had to live in a house where all he saw when he looked around was how much he treated you like dirt. He felt absolutely disgusted. “I’m so sorry” Harry cried out to no one but himself. Without you, he was devastated.

i love hearing from you guys! let me know what you guys thought/ want to see me write next!

//Ballerina Enterprise in watercolour//
Here it is! I spoke to the truly lovely @janey-jane ages ago, and they so kind as to let me create a piece of the Ballerina Enterprise based off of their design! I made some minor changes to fit in with my style and the colours of the background, but otherwise it is very true to janey-jane’s lovely silver ballerina.
I used masking fluid for this piece for the first time, for the lightest stripes of her hair, and to keep the background from melting into the Enterprise’s form! It was quite fun, and I loved drawing/painting her. I hope you enjoy it!

fandayo  asked:

Hi! I saw your small film and I was wondering if you could provide background information to it? I really loved the style and animation and the ending left me feeling so shocked bc I did not expect it to end the way it did. (It was p sad)

Hi! I hope you don’t mind if I post this publicly, I’ve had a few questions like this so I’ll give you guys some background on how it was made/my original intention. If you’re interested, I’ve put a lot of my development work in this tag.

From very early on in my development process I wanted to do some kind of fairytale. I wanted it to be kind of spooky, kind of sad, and kinda contemplative. I love the fluid nature of folk tales and myths and lore, in that they represent generations of fear and wonder being passed on and on and changed to represent the natures of the people telling them. I also love how environment-based they are. Some of my favourite stories growing up were stories those where the environment itself was a powerful narrative force.

While looking for a fairytale to use as a baseline, I was recommended William Allingham’s ‘The Fairies’, which is where my title ended up coming from. I’d already been looking at stuff from Midsummer Night’s Dream and a favourite play of mine, ‘The Weir’, both of which alight on the topic of changelings, and it felt like a good place to start. Irish fairytales came up again and again, and it’s along those lines that I did the bulk of my research. Originally, my film was going to be majorly based on these lines:

They stole little Bridget/For seven years long;/When she came down again/Her friends were all gone./They took her lightly back,/Between the night and morrow/They thought that she was fast asleep,/But she was dead with sorrow./They have kept her ever since/Deep within the lake,/On a bed of flag-leaves,/Watching till she wake.

The little girl in my film was referred to as Bridget throughout my production process, to my mind she is a changeling child taken long before the setting of the film. Originally the story was going to be about a traveller haunted by a ghostly girl, and who eventually discovers her body, kept preserved in the woods by fairies for years. Fairies are a chaotic, natural force, they’re a living embodiment of the environment they’re conjured out of. To my mind they’re completely amoral, they have no understanding nor interest in the consequences of their actions, which is also a trait I associate with young children. Combining those two forces to make Bridget my antagonist felt like a better way to upset my audience’s idea of right and wrong. Ultimately, Bridget is not ill intended, she’s not trying to trick the mother, she’s not trying to kill the baby. What she wants is a friend, and she just happens to have supernatural forces at her disposal to make that happen.

I wanted the film to feel like a fairytale, but not disney. My style and mood references were Ivan Bilibin’s illustrations, Ghibli films like Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away, Frederick McCubbin’s paintings, and Over the Garden Wall. I wanted it to address the pervasive nature of storytelling, and how it can alter our choices and perspective (the innkeeper turning the mother away at the beginning is both foreshadowing and a comment on those who turn away the weak out of exaggerated, ignorant fear), and the inalienable power of natural forces over human beings. The mother is distraught and grief-stricken, but Bridget, and the fairies, and the forest, don’t care. She is nothing to these greater forces; her loss is completely senseless and awful and yet there is no greater evil to rail against. I don’t know if I achieved it, but I wanted the only malicious choice made in the whole film to be the innkeeper’s. The mother is a victim of natural forces, but she is first and foremost the victim of human indifference to her suffering. You cannot hold the fairies responsible for the death of her child any more than you could hold a drought responsible for the deaths of environmental refugees. Those to blame are those who saw people in need and did nothing, or worse; turned them away.

Anyway this has gotten too long. Ultimately: I love horror stories, and I love nature as a narrative force, and I love examining storytelling as a moral tool, and to me, old fairytales encompass all of that. I wanted to make a spooky film with spooky woods and a spooky ghost child and that’s what I DID.

Every day that you get to work in music, it’s impossible not to love the people who allow you to do that. It’s amazing to have, you know, people who wanna listen to something that you’ve made.. Is the biggest compliment. I think the thing that’s really hit home for me a lot is making this album and then going to perform a couple of these songs so far. Seeing people sing it back to you takes you back to the moment of writing it, and to kind of see it go full circle is like a really cool experience.

You said earlier that you were having a bath and it made me super curious as to whether you use Lush bath bombs? If you don't you should totally try them, they're so amazing, I'm addicted to Lush stuff.

i do occasionally! one of my girlfriends was round recently and we meant to use one together but unfortunately we didn’t have the time :( i’ve only ever used lush bath bombs once or twice, but i love love love them!

i’d use them more, but i Hate going in to lush omg all of the people who work there are always really sweet and kind and like that kind of alternative-style type of really hot but i guess in their job they’re meant to be super friendly because they always come over and they’re like “OH HI HAVE YOU SMELLED THIS??? have you tried THIS makeup???” and i just freeze up because THEY’RE ALSO GORGEOUS

so yeah i dont go into lush any more lmao

Finally got good pics of this dress I made and I love it! It’s so pretty and comfortable! It was inspired by the kind of dresses my grandma wore in the 1960s as a secretary! I miss her so much but making this dress honestly made me feel a lot closer to her.

Many styles incorporate a strong cry the comes from the diaphragm, and that’s the closest I’ve ever felt to roaring/breathing fire in this life. (Granted, I don’t know what it’s like to breathe fire. But the analogy has been made by others.)
  • Running: Even on a treadmill! I find it extremely motivating to visualize myself flying over the sea when I run. It spurs me on to go even faster! Try visualizing flying or sprinting across your territory when you run!
  • Swimming: Kind of self explanatory for aquatic beings! Even more though, it is very close to flying. I suspect that Wyverns might find the motions in the Butterfly stroke kind of familiar ;)
  • Hiking/camping: Get closer to nature! I like to go with friends as a bonding experience, but it’s also great for solitary reflection (so long as you don’t go too far alone! Be safe!)
  • Dancing: Doesn’t matter what style, so long as it makes you happy. Dancing reminds me of the coordination and grace that I once possessed, and makes me feel so free that I could liken it to flight. If what you miss most is feeling majestic and unfettered, then dancing is worth a try!

Otherkin feel free to reblog with more fitness ideas for your kintypes!!!

There are things that are meant to happen, written in the stars and tattooed in invisible ink in the air. They’ll happen no matter which turn you take in the path of life, or how many delays are in the way. They’ll wait for you right until the end, when it’s time for a new beginning.
This was probably not one of those things.
That probably doesn’t change anything.
Harry almost missed her, didn’t see her in the large and unruly group that was walking to the last table on the restaurant, and frankly, that’d have been for the best, but then Gemma back tensed, making her look a little bit too uptight on her seat while she tried to look away from the group and smile awkwardly to the air.
At first Harry thought it was one of Gemma’s ex boyfriends, cause God knows she had a couple of awful ones, and as he looked again at the group, ready to mock the large head on this one guy she dated years ago, he felt the oh so familiar pang on his chest. It wasn’t hurtful anymore, not like the first few times he had seen her after it all went down, but still, it was hard to breathe for a couple of seconds, only able to look at the way her eyes sparkled a little bit as she laughed at something.
“Wanna go?” Gemma whispered lowly, frowning her perfectly shaped brows as she looked at her little brother.
“Nah,” He smiled sweetly at her, that smile that could end wars and probably make flowers grow on the ground. “I’m ok. Starving, though.”
Gemma decided to leave it at that, fully aware that that was probably all she was getting from him. But if she knew him well, and she did, there had to be a bitter taste in his mouth, the loud thump of his heart drumming in his ears, while the heavy feeling settled in his body and made a home out of it. It was called heartbreak and she had experienced once or twice before, although, she could never feel anything as intensely as Harry did, so that had to be hell.
The girl could probably have lived without knowing that Harry was sitting right across the restaurant, with his long legs hooked around the legs of the stool and his head hanging low as his sister leaned into him. There was no pang for her, no bitter taste or feeling in her body at the sight of the boy, but a black hole, a void that turned her into a numb doll. She would have wondered if she was still breathing, but the prickling of her eyes as she tried to look away made her sure that she was still alive. Just barely.
She had loved him, the kind of love that sets you on fire and watches you burn slowly, and then when it leaves, you can’t bear the thought to let it go, cause even if it hurts, even if the memory of it leaves you breathless from time to time, even that is better than to live without it. She still loved him, and it fucking hurt.

Interview: Lima

Today we’re joined by Lima. Lima is a phenomenal visual artist who specializes in drawing characters, both her own and others. Lima is an art student in Germany and hopes to be a storyboard artist. She is currently working on a personal project, which she’s very excited about. Lima’s work is brimming with details and vibrant colors, which make the images pop off the page. It’s very clear she’s a remarkably talented artist, as you’ll soon read. My thanks to her for taking the time to participate in this interview.

Please, tell us about your art.

Well, I love to draw characters the most, whether they’re my own or someone else’s. I love to give them a story, make them act with their poses and expressions! I also really like making little comics or storyboards - which is why I’d love to be a storyboard artist someday!

When I use colors, I love to use complementary contrasts to bring out different sides of a character!

What inspires you?

Many things! Mostly my favorite shows, like Star vs the Forces of Evil, Steven Universe and my all-time fave: Kim Possible. There’s also a lot of artists I look up to, like Babs Tarr, Stephen Silver, Mergan Ferguson (at littledigits on Instagram) Loish, Pernille Ørum … there are so many! Also Hayley Williams (singer of my favorite band Paramore) never fails to inspire me with her energy on stage and gorgeous outfits!

What got you interested in your field? Have you always wanted to be an artist?

I guess I’ve always been a very creative person bursting with way too many ideas. I’ve been drawing ever since I can remember, but only recently I discovered I also love telling/creating stories and making characters interact with each other. I guess the biggest factor is and was my undying love for everything animation and reading a lot of comics growing up that sparked my wish to be part of the creative, pre-production stage. That’s what made me sign up for art school and hopefully my education will help me reach those big goals of mine!

Do you have any kind of special or unique signature, symbol, or feature you include in your work that you’d be willing to reveal?

Hmm … I guess I have a thing for drawing big, button-y noses! I have kind of a button nose as well and it’s something that other people pointed out in my art. I also love drawing big, expressive eyes and fluffy, voluminous hair!

What advice would you give young aspiring artists?

Don’t worry too much about ‘having a unique style’! Style is something that comes on its own over time. Just let yourself get inspired by everything around you, study other people’s art and definitely use a TON of references! References are your best friend!

And remember to take breaks once in a while! Being an artist does not mean working 24/7, surviving on coffee and no sleep. Practice as much as you can, but also take care of yourself - your older self will thank you for it! (:

Where on the spectrum do you identify?

I am an aromantic asexual, but I do consider myself more of a gray-asexual. I’ve felt very uncomfortable about labeling myself for years, until I researched the term ‘aromantic’ and it’s like a light bulb went up above my head and everything was clear.

The whole story is: we did a personality quiz in school, where we were supposed to prioritize things like ‘love/romance’, ‘money’, ‘fame’, ‘family’ etc. and without even thinking I put ‘romance’ at the bottom of that list and that got me thinking and the rest is history :D

Have you encountered any kind of ace prejudice or ignorance in your field? If so, how do you handle it?

In my field, no. I am very lucky to be surrounded by young, open-minded people and I’ve even encountered another ace person in my class.

Truth be told, I am not that comfortable explaining my sexuality to people who might be ignorant, so I usually keep it on the down-low. If someone directly asked me, I wouldn’t lie, though.

It’s mostly because I feel aromanticism/asexuality is so severely underrepresented that it’s hard to be taken seriously in a society that actively promotes women having sex, having children, having romantic partners etc. that if you don’t want any of these things, you are the ‘odd one out’.

What’s the most common misconception about asexuality that you’ve encountered?

Probably that it’s simply ‘being straight without sex’ or that all asexuals have to be aromantic as well, which of course is wrong. I even heard someone say that asexuality can only be caused by some sort of mental/physical disorder and that every healthy person has a sex drive. What people don’t understand is yeah, I might have a sex drive but that doesn’t mean I’m supposed to act on it. Also the fact that I’m aromantic doesn’t mean I’m a cold person without feelings.

I love very strongly - just not romantically. I love my friends, my family, art and many things. I am a very emotional, sensitive person and I’d love for people to realize that romance is not the ultimate life goal for everyone.

What advice would you give to any asexual individuals out there who might be struggling with their orientation?

I’d ask them for a hug and say: you’re not alone.

There’s a lot of false information going around, and not a lot of media representation, which is important especially in these days.

But despite what other people might say: You are 100% valid.

Your feelings are real and you are not weird, or broken. You are a wonderful individual who deserves just as much love and appreciation as any other member of any other (LGBT+) community.

Don’t be afraid to be proud of yourself and take all the time you need to figure out what you’re comfortable with.

Finally, where can people find out more about your work?

I am most active on my Instagram: at sparkly_eyed_dork where I post sketches, comics, full illustrations and more (mostly fanart).

There’s also my Tumblr: (which is still on hiatus, but I’m planning to revive it in the near future.)

Also: I don’t wanna promise too much, but I’m gonna start my very own webcomic soon!

I can’t say too much about its content yet, but I’m working on it non-stop and I can’t wait to share it with everyone, so stay tuned for that!

All I can say is that it’ll involve friendship, music and wacky adventures! :)

Thank you, Lima, for participating in this interview and this project. It’s very much appreciated.

What was your most embarrassing moment in front of OT6?

One time at a fansign, I dropped my camera and every single member saw it happen. They asked me if it was okay TT TT

Your favorite photo of Bbang that you’ve taken so far?

It’s the first one I ever took of him (Included below)

What is something unique about Bbang that you don’t think international fans get to see?

Hello! I've been following for a while and I noticed how much merchandise you've made - the prints, stickers, buttons, charms/keychains especially! I really enjoy your style since it's so adorable. I wanted to ask how you go about making the merch? Like, is there a special service you use for certain products? I wanna go about making my own someday and your stuff always looks so lovely ;v; If you can help me out, even a bit, that'd be great!

Hello anon-chan-san! Thank you so much for your kind words, they mean a lot and I’m happy you’ve liked all the goodies I’ve done so far (๑°꒵°๑)・*♡ And no worries, I’m always happy to help! ( ◜◒◝ )♡ I do use a different service/merchant to print/produce my items once the art file is done on my end. Here are some of my best friends:

Zap!Creatives – Their quality is amazing and they have a variety of different types of charms! They do more than just charms too, but this is what I mainly use them for. They are located overseas but you do get free shipping on orders over $300. Also, if you sign up for their newsletter, once in a while you’ll get a 10-25% off coupon code to use on certain items which knocks a good amount off your order! Turnaround time and shipping is amazingly fast! No complains here.

Acornpress – I have yet to use them personally, but I’ve heard good things about them. They are located in the states, which would save you on shipping and have a lower minimum. However, they only offer white and clear acrylic charms at the moment. I’ll be trying them out soon and I’ll make sure to do a small review!

Note: You only get the charms. You have to build them yourself and buy the phonestraps, bells, jump rings, etc. from your local craft store or online.

Jimiagency – I love JiMi Agency! Their sticker quality is more than amazing and it’s always a pleasure to work with them. However, they are not kiss cut! You’ll have to use your favorite pair of scissors to cut them yourself! If you want kiss cut stickers, be prepared to pay more and have a bigger minimum order to place with other companies. JiMi also offers more than just stickers. From bookmarks to memo pads, to charms and washi tape. They only do group orders and it varies when. Just check their site out to see when they’ll be having their next group order.

Note: You can always do them yourself by buying sticker paper and printing them at home. It’s a good way to start if you don’t have the funds at the moment. That’s how I started and I don’t regret doing so and it helped so much.

Fireball Printing – Quality, turnaround time, and shipping is amazing! No complains here. They do have a minimum of 5 for poster size prints, which is not bad. For postcard size prints though, their minimum is too high and I wouldn’t recommend them for that unless you want 1k of the same design. They also offer other printing services.

CatPrint – I have yet to use them, but I have ordered their samples and I’m in love with the quality and variety of paper they have for printing! I’ve also heard a lot of good things about them. They don’t have a minimum–heck, you can even order one print! I’ll sure be using them to print out my con prints for August.

Note: Shipping is a bit high only because both use special shipping supplies to make sure your prints do not get damage while making their way to you. So I highly recommend that you order all your print designs at once and not one design at a time.

Wacky Buttons – No minimum! Which completely sold me and I’ll be placing my order soon! Five stars on their reviews so I’m sure when I get my first order I’ll be more than content. Either way, I’ll make sure to give them my own review.

Pure Buttons – They have a minimum of five, but they jump from 5 to 25 to 50 to 100 and so on and so forth. They are a bit more expensive but the more you order, the lower your cost. Great reviews!

Note: Both offer more than just your average buttons. They have pocket mirrors, fridge magnets, clothing magnets, etc. They also have custom button packaging. I guess it just depends on how many and how much you are willing to spend.

All work under CMYK color mode. Acornpress and Wacky Buttons are the only ones that I know that don’t use this color mode on their templates. However, I was able to get in touch with a rep from Wacky Buttons and they do recommend you convert their template into CMYK mode. Since more than half of their customers don’t have an editing program where they can switch from RGB mode to CMYK mode, they have chosen to have their template in RGB mode and they themselves convert the file. I know from experience that this does have a color effect on your final product when printed. The colors are a bit darker. You are only able to notice if you have both color modes printed out and side by side for comparison. It’s not a big deal (unless you are super picky), but just thought I should point this out.

I hope this helps and the best of luck lovely! I’ll probably update or add to this post if I make another best friend (◍•ᴗ•◍)♡ ✧*。
