Make You Feel My Love
Okay so this is one of my all time favorite songs if I’m honest with you. I was just listening to it and inspiration just hit me! This song makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside and just plain happy. Sometimes it even makes me cry happy tears, as well as sad tears. Idk, I just find it lovely. I hope you like it!
“When the rain is blowing in your face.”
Alfred looked down on Arthur, who was resting his head on his chest, and gave him a puzzled look. The look was a silent question to the small Brit as to why was he suddenly singing. His boyfriend merely looked up, got closer to his face and pecked him on the lips and then resting his head on Alfred’s chest again to continue cuddling on Alfred’s bed.
Arthur resumed his singing.
“And the whole world is on your case. I could offer you a warm embrace, to make you feel my love.”
Now it was Alfred’s turn to smile. The lyrics reminded him of the past few days, where he openly confessed to everyone in their very conservative town that he and Arthur had been dating for a year. Everyone took the news in a different way, they didn’t really care about Arthur since he had made it clear since his family moved to their neighborhood that he was gay, but Alfred had always been the example for all the kids in the neighborhood and parents hoped that their kids grew up to be like him. Most of the people took it well enough and even congratulated them but a couple of people didn’t, including his Aunt. But Arthur had been next to him through it all, supporting him.
“When the evening shadows and the stars appears and there is no one there to dry your tears, I could hold you for a million years to make you feel my love.”
He was very thankful for having Arthur in his life. The only person that despite the hardships will stick with him no matter what. Just as the song said, Arthur comforted him when Alfred felt like he couldn’t keep on going with lying to everyone he knew and loved.
His thoughts were interrupted when he felt Arthur’s hands on his face, moving it towards him. The next verse Arthur sang was filled with so much love and affection that Alfred was getting emotional.
“I know you haven’t made your mind up yet, but I would never do you wrong.”
Alfred was tearing up little. He wasn’t sure why his boyfriend was suddenly serenading him out of the blue, or why was Arthur’s voice so perfect for the song.
“I’ve known it from the moment we met. No doubt in my mind where you belong.”
Arthur leaned closer and tenderly kissed Alfred. To Alfred the kissed made him feel like despite the chaos in their lives, in moments like these he could feel at ease. It was all thanks to Arthur, his little heaven on Earth. After the kissed ended Arthur continued his singing.
“I’d go hungry I’d go black and blue. I’d go crawling down the avenue. No, there’s nothing that I wouldn’t do to make you feel my love.”
The American felt the same. He would do anything for Arthur. Anything that would ensure his boyfriends happiness. Arthur was worth that and so much more.
“The storms are raging on the rolling sea and on the highway of regret. Though winds of change are throwing wild and free, you ain’t seen nothing like me yet.”
The last part was sang with a smirk from the Brit. It was true though, Arthur was unique in the most wonderful way for Alfred. He was ridiculously stubborn and strong and even though when he moved in to the neighborhood some people treated him poorly, he didn’t let it get to him. Arthur is the kind of person that will keep moving forward even if the world is crumbling around him, and he was determined to drag Alfred along with him and for that Alfred was thankful since he felt that sometimes he couldn’t move forward.
“I could make you happy, make your dreams come true. Nothing that I wouldn’t do. Go to the ends of the Earth for you to make you feel my love.”
When Arthur didn’t continue to sing Alfred assumed that he was done. “Care to explain why the sudden serenade?”
Arthur merely smiled, something he’s been doing a lot throughout the entire song. “I just felt like singing that song to you. I feel it describes the way I feel about you perfectly.”
Alfred was seriously not about to cry, there was just something in his eye that’s all.
He wrapped his arms around the Brit and brought him closer to him. Right in Alfred’s arms, where he belonged, the American kissed his temple. “Thanks babe, I really liked it. Plus, I love it when you sing.”
He heard the Brit chuckle, “I know you do and I’m glad you liked it, dear.”
Even if they still had to deal with a lot of troubles Alfred will forever appreciate the moments of peace that his adorable and amazing boyfriend provided him with.
This is pure sappiness and fluffiness and I am not ashamed fight me right now. I have no words tbh I JUST FELT LIKE WRITING THE SAPPIEST THING EVER OKAY? THIS IS WHAT THIS SONG MAKES ME DO.
