A/N: Hello! So i’ve been hella inactive, so i wrote this thingy with OtaYuri to celebrate a very late Valentine’s day. It’s heeeelllaaaaa long, but I hope you guys enjoy it. It was fun to write ♥ I think Yuri is like 18 here or something?? I don’t know, maybe??

There’s no proofreading at the end because I’m way too lazy guys, help

Words: 3,541 (I am so so sorry omg, under the cut for obvious reasons)

Otabek opened his eyes at the first ring of his alarm, (Yuri hates him so much because he’s the kind of person that gets up when it’s time), he poked a hand out of the blankets to turn it off, not wanting to wake up Yuri just yet.

Once the alarm was off he turned around to leave a kiss on Yuri’s forehead like every morning, however, he was surprised to find out that Yuri wasn’t laying right beside him, instead, a pink note was laying on his partner’s pillow. Otabek frowned, rubbing the sleepiness off his eyes and taking the folded note in his fingers. His name written in Yuri’s elegant calligraphy.

Otabek, I prepared like the cheesiest shit for Valentine’s day. You can’t laugh. Go to the kitchen.

Otabek felt his cheeks getting warm as a big smile started to pull at the corners of his mouth. He got up with a jump, walking (more like running) towards the kitchen. Yuri Plisetsky preparing something for Valentine’s day? The the Yuri Plisetsky who gets all flustered when Otabek brushes his har with his fingers? That’s definitely something forward to see.

He stopped by the entrence of the kitchen when a delicious smell filled his nostrils. He peeked into the room and his mouth watered when he saw his favorite breakfast waiting for him in the counter, a tablet and another pink note laying beside it.

Press play, dork

Otabek turned on the tablet and pressed play to the vide where he saw Yuri leaning against the counter.

“Yo, Otabek”, he brushed his blonde hair back with his hand. “Ah, I think I should say something… sweeter…”, he cleared his throat, looking away as his hand traveled down to scratch at the back of his neck, Otabek noticed how his cheeks started to turn pink. “Good morning, Altin. I made your favorite breakfast and also the smoothie you like, that one is in the frige”, he pointed to the fridge in the video and Otabek turned just to see another pink note.

“I can’t be there with you because I have more things prepared for you”, a happy smile broke into Yuri’s face. “But enjoy this breakfast because I woke up very early to make it! A-ah… and I made it with love”, Otabek laughed and at the same time Yuri did in the video. “Enjoy your breakfast and keep following the notes!”, he waved and the video ended.

Otabek was tempted to replay the video, but he remebered the note in the fridge, so with long steps he made his way to it, opening it up as soon as he took it.

Your smoothie is inside! After breakfast you’ll have to go to /men’s shop/ and said to the first employee you see that you came for “My best present ever”, like that, if you don’t say it they’ll not give it to you

Otabek rolled his eyes, reading the note over and over again. He could hear Yuri’s voice inside his head and his heart was jumping excitedly at Yuri’s next surprise. So far, Otabek didn’t know what to expect, turning back at his breakfast his stomach growled, desperate to dig in that glorious-looking plate, though, Otabek started to lead to the bathroom before anything else. His bladder about to explode.

He found another pink note in the bathroom’s mirror.

You look stunning today.

-Yuri ❤”

You looked outside your bedroom window and saw lines of limousines and crowds of fans and paparazzi surrounding the front of the Stark Tower. It was nearly 8 yet the party was supposed to officially begin at 7. However, Tony wasn’t even in the building yet.

“He likes to be fashionable late.” The Stark Industries CEO and your new friend, Pepper Potts commented as she helped you pick out what dress to wear.

Finally she settled with a red sleeveless party dress with black Jimmy Choo heels. She curled your hair whilst you did your simple nude makeup. Then after you were finished, you glammed her up. Pepper wore a long silk blue dress and her red hair curled on the tips. You both looked gorgeous.

When you had finished putting her makeup on, the pair of you stared at each other through the mirror and squealed.

“God, we sound like high school girls.” Pepper laughed.

The two of you descended down the stairs and it wasn’t long before the whole building was silent as everyone’s attention was on you.

“Hey, its Tony’s girlfriend!” You heard someone from outside yell when the door opened to let another guest in. Suddenly, the paparazzi went wild and clamoured in the Stark Tower.

Everyone screamed and panicked, Pepper especially as she tried to hold onto your hand but you were pulled away by screaming journalists and assholes.

“Stop that!” You screamed when you felt a hand grab your thigh.

There were so many paps around you that you couldn’t see anyone else.

Out of nowhere, there was a large spotlight of white and gold hitting all of you. You covered your eyes with your handbag and the paps turned around.

"I suggest you get the FUCK away from (Y/N).” Tony growled.

“Age Gap” anime & manga

It’s funny how watching something you like can quickly lead you down the path to finding other shows just like it. This was the case for me with lots of different genres of anime and mangas that I’ve really come to enjoy. For example, sports anime wasn’t something I had really considered liking until I watched “Kuroko no Basuke”. Prior to that I would always look at the tags for sports animes and think “nahhh…” But what a colossal shame it would have been if I hadn’t actually bothered to check it out. To think of what my anime experience would be without the likes of “Kuroko no Basuke”, “Free”, “One Outs”, “Giant Killing” etc. makes me rather sad actually. The same happened with the yaoi genre.. I read the synopsis of “Sekaiichi Hatsukoi” and was initially like “huh? the person the main character went out with in high school was a guy? really?” and I left it at that.. What a fail! My curiousity got the better of me though and instead of going for something like “Junjou Romantica” or “Sekaiichi Hatsukoi” which makes yaoi palatable for a general audience, I dove headfirst with “Okane ga Nai” as the first anime/OVAs that I watched in the yaoi genre (incidentally, there’s an age gap here too). My eyes nearly fell out of my head initially, but beyond that, I began to appreciate that there was more to it that just the guy x guy vibe. With this in mind, I went back to “Sekaiichi Hatsukoi”, gave it a chance and checked it out. After that, the rest is history.. I fell in love with the genre and haven’t looked back since.

Now, those are pretty standard genres I’ve given as examples. but these days I find myself drawn to a bit of an obscure “genre” if you want to call it that.. “Age Gap” anime and manga. I’ve given it that name since I see that a lot of people use this as a tag when referring to manga/anime where the romance is between people with vastly different ages, whether it be a younger girl with an older man, vice versa or a younger guy with an older man (think: Miyagi of Junjou Romantica). In all honesty, I think I’ve always been drawn to these kinds of animes but it’s only recently that I have recognised it as one of the genres that I have a deep liking for. I know I’m not alone here, because why else would such manga/anime exist if there wasn’t anyone who enjoyed this? It might sound odd to some, but this kind of topic is usually handled with a lot of care by those creating it so as not to make it perverse. When there is such an age gap, where one party is more mature than the other, the owness usually lies with the maturer of the two to be the responsible party. They usually endure a lot of conflict as a result of their age and the consequences of being with someone much younger are always taken into consideration - a realistic approach to the situation. The other strong emphasis with these types of stories is that the focus between these couples is more on romance/feelings/caring/protecting/supporting each other than it is about getting down to business, so to speak. The love that the characters share doesn’t always have to be expressed in a physical way and that’s another thing that makes it appealing. Sometimes, the “love/romance” aspect is just hinted at in the background but it’s enough to make us feel that we want those characters to be together.

In the interest of full disclosure and protection of the eyes of those who have not watched the shows I’m about to talk about, please note that there are some spoilers ahead about “My Wife is a High School Girl”, “Speed Grapher”, “Angel Heart”, “Skip Beat”, “Glass Mask” and “Ristorante Paradiso” among others.

I did say that it was only recently that I realised that this actually a genre that I enjoy and it’s the anime “Glass Mask” (the 2005 remake) that made me see it. 51 episodes of watching Maya and Hayami grow closer together was bound to make me swoon and the more I watched, the more I realised that this is the kind of thing I love.. Hayami and Maya have an age gap of 11 years between them and they meet when she’s only 14 and in middle school (making him 25 at the time). Even so, as a consequence of their jobs they get to know each other and maintain a kind of working relationship over the years where Hayami gets to watch Maya grow up and Maya comes to understand more about the adult Hayami. Their history becomes rather complicated and the as time goes on, he becomes more attached to her. She is the only one that treats him so normally - whether it be sharing a biscuit together or having a fight/war of words, which slowly makes him realise that he does indeed have feelings for her. As such, he struggles with the idea of being so much older than her and is even more frightened by the idea of being rejected by her. She is someone that he never wants to lose and would even be willing to remain in her life anonymously, so long as he can be around/in contact with her somehow. So you see, it’s not about him just wanting to get in her pants.. It goes beyond that because of his consideration of the consequences and the things that he does for her, without her even knowing it.

One of the first shows I watched that addressed this topic has to be “My Wife is a High School Girl”. To be honest, I watched it because I had to see what it was about - the title sounded a bit insane so I gave it a go. Again - turned out to be rather sweet and in fact, it’s the girl who wanted to “be with” her husband, but out of respect for her father he’s avoided doing that at all costs until she’s 18. Sure, it’s probably unrealistic to think that he would be able to hold out, but look, the show was made for the public so of course it would have to be this way. In any case, it had its moments - like when she fakes being sick, he sees her in the hallway, drops all his books and insists on carrying her on his back to the infirmary - like any good husband would do. Like I said -it was rather sweet.. He looks like a bit of a nerd (although beyond the glasses he’s actually rather cute) but he’s a good husband (despite having to keep it a secret) and is protective of and loyal to his wife.

“Speed Grapher” was another one and probably one of my favourites.. Tatsumi (33) and Kagura (15).. From the moment he sees her, he’s spellbound and after finding out about her circumstances, he makes it his mission to save her. He rescues her time and again from those that wish to use her for their own purposes and over time, she comes to develop feelings for him and him for her. As is usually the case, he looks after her more like a guardian but you can tell that it slowly evolves into something more than that as they spend more time together. They never cross the line but they do acknowledge their feelings for each other as Tatsumi pleads with Kagura to live on.. If not for her sake, then at least for his.. The best pay off is the ending, where we fast-forward five years from the events that brought the two of them together. Kagura has moved around a lot after that and eventually comes back to Tokyo to be with Tatsumi. And even though he’s now blind, he knows that she’s there the moment she returns to him. It was super satisfying as an ending and it made you feel alright to want them to be together because she’s now 20 and he’s 38.. Still a fair age difference, but at least now she’s an adult and they’re both still in love.

“Genji Monogatari” follows the exploits of Genji - a man hailed as one of the greatest lovers.. Although he initially falls for a girl that’s a little bit older than him (and his father’s wife), he manages to distract himself rather well with a whole host of girls.. But I wouldn’t have included this in the line up if there wasn’t a little something extra that made this one memorable for me. And that is the last few episodes. Although he was with plenty of women and have quite a few lovers, a young girl is brought to his residence and she ends up living there. She initially sees him as an older brother kind of figure but as she grows and becomes more aware of herself, she develops feelings for him and only wishes for his happiness. Just before Genji is to leave his place for a while (a few years perhaps?), she lets him know of her feelings for him and he is flattered and returns her sentiment. It’s then that he proclaims her to be his bride and they spend the one evening together - just talking and being in each others’ presence. From what I understand, she waits for him to return and is the one he is with at the end. I could be wrong though because I haven’t read the books and the anime is quite open ended. Although she wasn’t such a major character, you could see that way she felt about him and he always took good care of her and treated her well and as someone precious to him. That’s why it was rather nice to see that she got the man that she had always wanted and that he had no issue with being with her either. Then again, this was waaaay back in the day when getting married at 14 to men who were old enough to be your grandfather was no problem.

“Skip Beat” is similar to “Glass Mask” in some ways - a young girl trying to make it into show business and changing the life of a man that she gets to meet through her profession. The concept is slightly different because the only reason that Kyouko gets into acting is because of her wanting revenge on her ex-boyfriend. And even though she doesn’t initially get along with Tsuruga Ren - the major star from her agency (and her ex’s main rival), she eventually comes to respect him for his talent.. He initially doesn’t like her either because he hates her reasons for wanting to become an actress. Even though they are initially at odds, they slowly come to know and understand more about each other and it’s also revealed that they actually met when they were kids.. She doesn’t realise that this is the same boy that gave her comfort when she was a little girl. As time goes along, situations and circumstances put the two of them together and the once apathetic Ren finally starts to care about someone. The anime didn’t quite hit the mark with the pay-off (probably because they thought that there would be 2nd season or maybe in an effort to make you read the manga to get to the pay-off) but seeing how their relationship changes and how he becomes affected by her being around him was really touching. You realise how lonely he actually is and she comes into his life and changes that.

In fact, a lot of the animes/mangas that focus on age gaps seem to use that concept - the loner old guy whose life regains excitement and changes thanks to a younger girl coming into the picture. In my opinion, it’s their youth that actually plays into this. If this same concept is applied to two adults, it seems like a normal romance story, but the thing is that adults don’t have the same direct nature and purity of emotion that teenagers do. And this is the difference. These loner dudes are usually quite content to be loners and to maintain their sense of normalcy and other adults would usually respect that and so things would continue as normal. But when you have the introduction of a younger character, that straightforward nature pushes these loner types out of their comfort zones and shakes things up. That’s why it works. The don’t treat their potential partners as business associates or colleagues because they haven’t acquired that skill set yet and so these loners get treated like normal people, no matter what rank they may hold..

Actually, thinking about it now, even a show like “Brothers Conflict” has some age gap going on.. Masaomi is 31 when he meets the 16/17 year old Ema.. And a lot of the brothers are way older than she is.. Doesn’t stop us from wanting to see them vying for her affection now does it? Lol.. And “Bonjour Sweet Love Patisserie” has Sayuri sharing special bonding moments with her teachers, seeing them as people rather than just instructors.

“Angel Heart” fell a bit out of the norm in terms of the romance thing because although it initially seemed like the main girl was going to fall in love with Ryo Saeba, it became a situation where they became more like father and daughter. She is 15 and he is in his 40s so it makes sense in that respect, but even though you know that the idea is that he is her guardian, there is undoubtedly a secret part of you that kind of wishes that they would actually be together in some way. The age gap is huge, but nevermind.. Love can overcome it in an anime right? Lol.. Even though there wasn’t any romance, the connection and bond between Ryo and Xiang-Ying is something special and I don’t think there is anyone but him that can get through to her and help her get back to being a regular girl, rather than an assassin. Ryo, having a similar background and getting involved in fights etc. is the best person for her and seeing how close they become is rather heart warming.

“Ristorante Paradiso” is definitely an in-your-face age gap anime seeing as the main character, Nicoletta, not only hangs out with waaaaay older men (in their 50s) but also falls in love with one of them. Although the age gap is a bit too extreme for me - I prefer protective men versus overly knowledgeable men - it was actually rather sweet and instead of finding it creepy, you find yourself routing for Nicoletta to be with Claudio. They meet and she falls for him but his complicated history makes being with him a challenge for Nicoletta and she has to take her time to try and get him to see her as more than just a worker in the restaurant. That said, he’s her confidant and the person she always turns to and even when he thinks he should be putting distance between them because he knows how she feels but isn’t sure that he can return her feelings, he finds that he can’t bring himself to be so cruel and goes back to being by her side. She exercises her patience but it surely pays off, which was rather nice to see..

“Junjou Romantica”  is by one of my fave mangakas, Shinjiku Nakamura, and she has been known to use age differences (along with height differences) as one of the defining features in her stories. The most obvious one is the age difference between Shinobu (a high school student) and Miyagi (a literary professor) who also happens to be his ex-brother-in-law.. The storyline falls under the “Terrorist” subplot and is about how this young guy convinces his ex-brother-in-law that they are fated to be together. They go through a lot of ups and downs where Miyagi tests Shinobu to see if he’s being serious about this and they constantly fight and argue but at the end of it all, Miyagi eventually gives into his “fate” by being with Shinobu. He deals not only with being with someone younger, but also agonises about the fact that he’s loving someone new (a huge issue for him) and that it also happens to be a guy. The main characters, Misaki and Akihiko also have a big age difference between them (10 years) and most of the men that go after Misaki, e.g. Ijuuin and Haruhiko also have a similar age gap.. However, unlike Miyagi and Shinobu, Misaki doesn’t pay too much attention to the age gap but worries more about the fact that he may cause trouble for Akihiko (because they’re in a relationship - everyone close to Akihiko knows that he’s gay but they don’t want that information to become public) and he worries because he needs to figure out his life at this stage.. And in “Sekaiichi Hatsukoi” the biggest age gap there is about 9-10 years between Kisa and Yukina - something that Kisa tends to agonise about a lot.. even though he’s so baby-faced that he actually looks younger than Yukina.

Sticking with yaoi, another one of my faves is “You’re My Loveprize in Viewfinder” and the age difference between Asami and Takaba is 12 years. It shows in the most spectacular fashion in their attitudes, the company they keep, they way they dress and just the way they live their lives in general. Where Takaba is carefree, freelance, casual and hangs out with friends, Asami is serious, has numerous businesses, always dresses smartly in a suits and has very few, if any, friends. But in spite of all the glaring differences, they are naturally drawn to each other - a case of opposites attract perhaps? Asami sees Takaba as naive and reckless, and Takaba sees Asami as controlling and condescending, but each respects the other. Asami loves the fire and fierceness that accompanies youth in Takaba and Takaba thinks that the things Asami has achieved is amazing and wants to be on his level someday. This difference in life experience is something that plays more of Takaba’s mind than Asami’s - which is somewhat different from the norm - having the younger party worry about the age difference. Whereas Asami doesn’t care what anyone thinks - such is his level of power that he answers to no one.

Apart from anime, there is also the world of manga that awaits in terms of the age gap genre.. Just the other day I came across a manga called “Kore Wa Koi No Hanashi” and although the age difference is astounding (21 years between them), it’s actually been handled rather well. The difference makes him more of a guardian to her initially but there is potential brewing in the background. The initial volumes that I’ve read thus far are more about how this girl changes this man’s life just by being there.. Her presence introduces something new to him and for the first time, someone seems to be showing him genuine care. The developments are sweet and there are enough characters around so that it doesn’t become a complete creep-fest and there’s actually a fair amount of humour involved too. That’s why I say that even though age gaps could be considered creepy from a face-value point of view, the way that these stories are portrayed lends itself to being more sweet than anything.

Other mangas which I’ve only heard about that fall in this category (which I’ve sourced from doing some investigation - I haven’t actually read these yet) include: Hotaru no Hikari, Eden no Hana, Sugar Family, Hana no Namae, Ingènuo, Mademoiselle Butterfly, Love So Life, Hakuji, Antique Romance, Veins, Wagahai wa Yome de Aru, Toriko - Aigan Shoujo and Hana to Akuma. So if you’re looking for something to read that falls in this vein, then checking these out might be a good idea. I know I’m going to.

To be honest, the whole idea of younger girl, older guy probably screams “daddy complex” but I don’t see much of a problem with that.. After all, this is what anime and manga is - something we watch or read for our enjoyment. No one can tell you what to feel about it and whether or not it’s your thing is completely up to you, as an individual. I’m sure some people will probably think “lollicon” when they hear the words “age gap” and that’s entirely up to them. But for me, the age gap genre is about how love & just caring for someone can always transcend age. Changing someone’s like doesn’t come with an age requirement and watching how these unlikely pairings change each other for the better over time is always so satisfying to watch. There are always moments of doubt and frustration with these stories, but the wait is always worth it.. To get that happy ending and see the triumph of the couples who believe in each other and the good of having that person around.. Sure, it’s idealistic to think that way, but hey.. that’s why we love manga and anime right? :D

Update: Part 2 is out here!

Sooo here’s an untitled Billford drabble for @leukaraii as my contribution for the late Secret Santa event held in the Billford Discord chat. Happy late holidays or whatever the occasion is! =^^=

Rated mild M for (very mild) dubcon. Expect dialogue-driven penthouse shenanigans and Bill being meta af.

”And then he said – hold on… He said… I said wait…”

“You’ve been saying that for, like, five minutes already.”

You-u shut up! Time is dead, I killed it… Hey, where’s my punch? Ronnie, someone drank my punch…”

“It was you, Billy. You drank the punch.”

“Liar, liar, pants on fire! Pfft- hahaha! Get it, guys? Her pants are – wait… She’s not wearing pants… That’s… against the dress code. You’re breaking the rules, Py!”

“But Boss, you said there’s no rules.”

“…You’re not wearing pants, Kryptos. You dare come to my party with no pants on and still claim to pledge your all… allieg… allegiance to me? Huh?”

“No offense, but you’re not wearing pants, either.”

“Yeah, I mean, there’s literally no one in this room who’s wearing pants.”

“Everybody stop questioning me! This is my party! My rules! Nobody respects my rules… except this guy… He’s wearing pants, see? He’s a gentleman, like myself! He’s the only one who gets me… C’mere, Fordsy…”

“Ugh, get a room, you two!”

“You know what? I think we will! He’d probably be intimidated by the sight of you pantless savages, anyway. Just me and him, we have a nice talk, catch up, bury the hatchet, shake on it, and we’ll be back to partying in no time! With or without pants – to be honest, I wouldn’t mind either!”

“Room. Now.”

“Sure thing, big guy.”

First Time for Everything // Spencer Reid x Reader

Prompt: Spencer x Reader’s first time in bed and Reid is a virgin

Requested by: Anonymous

Warnings: Smut(awkward virgin smut at least)

Spencer was completely, irrevocably head over heels in love with you. There was nothing else he was so sure of. There was nothing that would ever change that either.

He had fallen in love with you the moment he set eyes on you, with the way you had walked into the office as their newest member, so young and full of life. Your immediate greeting had been to hug everyone, hugging JJ and Morgan as if you were greeting old friends.

“He has a no touching thing,” Morgan had quickly warned as you had turned towards him. You had simply smiled with no judgement in your eyes and nodded in understanding.

“Very nice to meet you Dr. Reid,” you had greeted, sending a small soldier salute towards him in an effort to break the ice. Spencer had chuckled and nodded, repeating that it was a pleasure.

Every day after you came into the office, hugging everyone before stopping at him.

“Today?” You asked as you held your arms open. He’d smile politely and shake his head no, afraid that your feelings would get hurt. Instead you had always nodded and saluted him in the same cute way from before.

“Good to see you too, Dr,” you’d greet, the same unwavering smile on your face. You never held the fact he wasn’t physical against him and it came as a relief. He wanted you to like him.

With each passing month he found himself in a surprisingly joyful mood whenever you entered the room. You grew on everyone, especially JJ as the two of you seemed to share that same sense of kindness. Every day you asked for a hug and every day he would refuse, although he had to admit that as the days passed by he ultimately regretted not hugging you on that first day.

“Today?” You asked again with that same bright smile after nearly six months had passed. This time Spencer rose from his seat and wrapped his arms around you as you let out a joyful squeal. The team smiled as they watched the exchange from their desks.

“The wait was totally worth it,” you commented with a smile as the two of you pulled apart. Spencer blushed, nodding in agreement.

“If I knew your hugs were that great I might have said yes sooner,” he joked as he looked down at your pretty face. His heart was still beating rapidly against his chest as your lips pulled back even further, revealing the beautiful smile he had thought of the entire night before when he couldn’t fall asleep.

Everything had happened in a blink of an eye afterwards. You and Spencer found yourself wrapped up in each other at Hotch’s birthday party. The team noticed how the two of you seemed to ignore everyone else in the room and left the two of you to your privacy. Your lips had met in the tension of the moment followed by Spencer asking you to be his girlfriend.

“Only if you’ll be my boyfriend,” you replied with a cheeky smile. He grinned as he pulled you back into him and pressed his lips against yours again.

That had been nearly a year before. Spencer had been living in pure bliss the entire time. He had a good job, great friends, and a beautiful girlfriend. For once in his life everything was absolutely perfect.

Except for one fact. He still remained a virgin.

It went without saying that Spencer had never quite been popular with girls at a young age. While everyone was having sex in college, he stayed locked in the library at the mere age of 15. His lack of social skills hindered his relationships with women as he grew. He couldn’t even shake hands with them, much less touch them in such an intimate way.

Spencer wanted to tell you. No one on the team knew he was a virgin. They all knew how awkward he was with women but they had all figured he would have had sex at least once by now. They usually just left the subject alone. He was nervous about telling you because he had heard you talking to Penelope about old boyfriends before so you were surely more experienced in that field. You had never forced anything on him, allowing him to go only as far as he wanted to. The most Spencer had ever gone were heated make-out sessions. You suspected he was nervous about sex so you’d always kept your mouth quiet when he’d pull away and simply cuddle with you instead of attempting to go further.

Much to his relief you had been completely understanding.

“Is that what you were so worried about?” You asked with a small smile as you sat on Spencer’s bed after he had just revealed that he was still a virgin.

“Yes,” he admitted. “I just…I want it to be good and well I’m not experienced at all and I know you are and I’m probably going to be horrible compare-”

You shushed him as you placed a hand over his mouth.

“Spencer, I would never compare you to anyone. I love you. You’re the one I want,” you assured as you gently cupped his cheek. He smiled softly at your kind reassurance.

He hesitantly leaned forward, capturing your lips in a sweet kiss. You in return locked your arms behind his neck, pulling him down on top of you as you continued to kiss him. The kiss grew more intense as Spencer’s tongue dominated your mouth, his hands slowly trailing along your body. He froze as your hands moved down and pulled your shirt off, throwing the thin fabric aside. He stared at you, momentarily stunned by your beauty before you reached for his hand and gently placed it on your breast, giving him an encouraging smile.

“Are you sure?” He asked hesitantly as he understood what you were asking for.

He nodded before kissing you deeply, his hands fumbling with your jeans as he tried to get them off. After a bit of clumsiness he finally succeeded, pulling them off with your underwear as well. He took a moment to look at you in utter disbelief that you were his.

You smiled that same smile he adored that let him know that you truly loved him. It made him even more nervous as he recalled all the books that claimed a healthy sex drive was key to a lasting relationship. He gulped as your fingers undid the buttons on his shirt, sliding the fabric off of his shoulders before moving to undo the button to his pants. He quickly slipped out of them, a feeling of embarrassment filling him as his erection popped out of its confines.

“Impressive,” you replied with a wide grin. You comment effectively calmed his nerves for a moment as he was often self conscious about his own body.

“I’ve read a lot of books on this lately and I’m pretty sure I can figure out how to make you climax and hopeful-”

“Spencer,” you interrupted his nervous rambling with an amused smile.

“I don’t know what I’m doing,” Spencer admitted with a small frown. You smiled encouragingly.

“You’ll do fine.”

You giggled as he clumsily positioned himself against you, shifting around nervously unsure of how to approach the task. Your legs wrapped around him, pressing the tip of his dick to your entrance. He gave a soft moan at the sudden wet contact, looking at you with a look of adoration.

“There we go,” you said softly as you pulled him in closer, his dick sliding into you slowly as you eased him into it. He felt short of breath as an overwhelming sense of pleasure consumed him. He’d never felt something so good before and it didn’t surprise him that you would be the one to bring it to him. He groaned in pleasure as he fit his entirety inside of your warm walls, feeling the slick warmth of you against his most sensitive part.

You hummed in pleasure as Spencer slowly began to move inside of you. His body fell on top of yours, his elbows giving out at the amount of sensations going through him. You didn’t complain as his weight dug into you. Instead you turned his head towards yours and kissed him passionately as he rocked his hips into yours.

Your small moans filled his ears as his cock moved against your wet walls, only working to increase his arousal. He had waited so long for this moment and it was more than he could have ever anticipated. His soft grunts continued as he found a pace he enjoyed, moving in and out of you slowly. The look on your face was one of adoring serenity as you looked at him, a slight sheen of sweat on both of your foreheads.

Spencer had read that a man’s first time was usually his quickest from the excitement of the new sensations, and he was proof of that. In moments he was overwhelmed by the warm wet feeling of you and let out deeps gasps as he felt himself pulsate, spilling himself into your insides. His body slumped heavily into yours as he took deep breaths, his dick twitching as he slowly pulled himself out of you.

“I’m sorry,” he apologized as he rolled onto the bed next to you, covering his  face in shame.

“There’s nothing to be sorry about,” you reassured with a smile. He looked at you with uncertainty. “You did great Spence.”

He sighed but nodded, wrapping an arm around you as you laid your head on his chest. He stayed silent for a moment before a wolfish grin spread on his face.

“You know, I also read that the good thing about sex beginners is that although they finish fast, they’re basically ready for round two in no time.”

You laughed as you looked up to see his wolfish grin smug on his face.

“I’m ready when you are.”

Word Count: 1,819
Genre: Angst
Pairing: Akashi X Reader!Girlfriend
Summary: Akashi receives a package a day after a call.
NOTE: This was a request that was sent in a while back in my box. It’s not a freelance piece and you’ll understand why i didn’t do the usual q+ans post.

Since he started to take over his father’s business, Akashi had lost all his free time to it. He spent his mornings reading invoices; lunches checking his emails; and dinners alone in the dark, where only a sliver of light reached his spectacles as he massaged the bridge of his nose. The only thing that kept him from screaming at his frustration was his frequent lashes at those beneath him and the messages he got from you.

Akashi never felt as thankful as he did each day when he got a text message or a voice mail from you. You made him keep his sanity as he worked for days without rest; kept him grounded. There was never a day where he thought you were annoying, because to him you were his beloved, and nothing would ever change that.

Looking away from his screen for a second, he felt himself captivated by the picture he kept near another pile of folders. Holding the picture frame in his hand, he brushed the glass lovingly. There you were standing near him; a picture of the two of you from university. Your hair fixed in the usual hairstyle; your lips slightly open; eyes surprised. He chuckled quietly—Akashi had taken his hand away from your waist and let his fingers find yours before intertwining them.

You weren’t the type to show your affections outside, but being the man he is, he took advantage of it. He loved the way you looked when he took you by surprise. Loved the deer like characteristic of it and how your cheeks would turn into a pastel pink; the redness that would form right after you realized what happened.

He counted to himself quietly; realizing something. The warmth he felt receded as he was hit with the realization that he had not seen that for nearly four months. Four. Months.

Akashi felt his grasp around the frame loosen for a second. It hit his table, wobbling a bit before standing still.

Akashi had let you be alone for four months. He left you only memories of him and fading pictures of him in your life. As of right now, what was left of him in your life?

Before he could even pick up the phone to call you, he heard the familiar vibrate of his phone. Usually keeping it on silent, it only moved when he had mail. Typing in the passcode quickly, he turned on his phone, and tapped to his logs; dialing his voice mail to hear what was left for him.

‘Morning Seijuro!’ He smiled automatically. ‘I hope you had breakfast today, you didn’t forget again right?’ Murmuring a small no to himself, he listened on. ‘Seijuro I know you’re probably beating yourself over not seeing me for the past few months, but I did tell you it was fine. But…’

He heard you pause for a second as you took a shallow breath. That was quite odd. Akashi furrowed his eyebrows. ‘…Sorry I just got distracted, nothing that needs worrying.’

Did that meant he did need to worry? ‘As I was saying, can we go on a date this Thursday?’

What an odd day he thought and when he heard you say the very words himself, he chuckled.

‘I didn’t want to bother you, but I really…really…miss you. I don’t want to seem like I’m asking for much, but I can’t help it because I love you— ‘.  He narrowed his eyes as he heard loud noises suddenly appear in the background, cutting you off as you hung up. This didn’t sound like your home; it didn’t sound like anything recognizable from it.

Feeling himself move on his own, he stopped the voice mail and moved his hand around his phone quickly. Typing in your number and calling you. Why did you sound anxious? Why did those sounds seem familiar? Why was his heart pounding?

Hearing the call hit voice mail, he sighed loudly. Taking a quick look at the clock, he saw it was two. “Afternoon, Love. The date doesn’t bother me at all. There was no need to sound sad over such a little request that I myself would also have asked for. I’ll pick you up on Thursday at your home around six—about two days from now. See you soon.”

Gently placing the phone on his desk, Akashi couldn’t help but feel oddly nervous over your words. Something was wrong, but what was it? If something was up, you would tell him right? Shaking his head, he pressed a hand against his forehead. Perhaps this anxiety was over the thought of seeing you again after such a long time. Nervousness—yes it was because he was nervous he told himself.

Letting himself forget his sudden rush of emotions, he took a second glance at the phone again before getting back to work. Turning on his computer, he viewed the articles he needed to take care of; erasing the uneasiness he felt with the sense of relief that he was going to hold you once again.

But he wasn’t going to he soon realized.

His office was a mess as papers laid crumpled on the ground around him. All the invoices, the letters, the reports—meaningless in comparison to what was in the package he received. Akashi couldn’t breathe as he saw everything he ever gave you in a perfect array inside a cardboard box.

The dried roses he gave you on the first date had lost its essence; the sweetness that lingered before had faded. The ribbon he helped you wear laid still with the help of the weight of the promise ring he placed on your delicate hand a while ago. The photos you took together; neatly kept with a rubber band. Everything he had gifted you; everything that was sent to compensate for the smile he was given…it was all sent back.

Shakily reaching inside of it, he took out the small envelope inside. The scrawl of his name on the front; a little heart sticker holding it closed; he tore it open.

Unfolding the letter inside, he felt himself gulp. “Don’t tell me you’re leaving me for someone else _____….”

Dear Seijuro,

He read, his eyes slowly taking in your words.

If you’re reading this, I must’ve screwed up right? Haha, I didn’t mean to, I swear!
I wanted to say something that I didn’t have the courage to say a few months back. Something I didn’t get a chance to even bring up.
You see I was diagnosed with Ischemic Heart disease—Coronary Artery Disease to be more I guess specific.  My blood vessels narrowed suddenly during the end of our final year in university, but it was suppose to be fixable.
It wasn’t.
It seemed that something like mine were far too complicated for any doctor to fix. So there it began my little downfall you can call it. But you were there for me without even knowing it and I felt even more anger towards myself.
I was grateful that you loved me, but I hated that I was making you love me, the me who was healthy. I hated that I couldn’t find the courage in myself to tell you to stop loving me, because that would ease your pain. But, being the selfish person I am, I let you love me. I took advantage of your love when really I was fixing you into the spot of feeling the most pain; probably even more pain than what I’m feeling right now.
But I guess not all great things can last right? Some part of me was glad you got caught up in your work to not notice because then I would see you less and then I could feel at ease that that was my punishment for being too greedy.
So I endured it, the time lost from being with you got traded it for time spent in the hospital. The memories I had with you let me feel the bit of strength I kept losing. The voice mails I was able to send made me rest assure that I was helping you a bit even if I didn’t.
Seijuro…thank you for letting me love you and for letting me feel the warmth I was losing. Thank you for giving me something worth fighting for even if I wasn’t able to see your gaze again. Thank you for letting me be selfish for once.

His eyes blurred as he couldn’t read on. Akashi tried to make sense of everything as he desperately clung to your letter. Blindly, he ran his hand along each word and felt each deep scrawl in the lined paper. What were you doing when you were writing this? Were you in pain? Were you alone?

Akashi grew cold. Were you alone? He asked himself again. He felt all the air leave his lungs as he tried to stop himself from falling.

He let you be alone. He let you take the guilt. He let you suffer. Alone—all alone. Why were you thanking him when he was the selfish one for prioritizing his work over the love of his life? Why were you saying you were the selfish one?

“I’m the selfish one you idiot.” He whispered as he looked at the pile of photos. “I’M THE SELFISH ONE!”

Letting go of the letter, Akashi grabbed his head and held it hard. He ran his nails painfully down his scalp as tears fell down. It dampened his carpet; made it turn into a deeper shade of red.

It hit him all so suddenly as he began to mourn you. The familiar noises from the voice mail before were only familiar because he remembered the ones he heard from his mother’s bedside years back. The pause was because of your difficulty breathing as your heart couldn’t properly move the carbon dioxide away from your lungs. The sudden request was because you wanted to see him one last time.

Akashi wailed loudly as he realized what he lost. He couldn’t control himself as his heart screamed at the fact that he would never see your smile again. Felt himself break as he realized he would never see you ever again. He tried to wipe the constant trail of tears that continued to fall from his eyes. How could he have been so blind?

Clutching his chest, he crouched over the letter; protecting it as if it was truly you. It hurt all over. His world had come crashing down in this standstill of time—all that he worked for; believed in; all of it was lost.

But there was one thing that was eating away the little composure he had left as Akashi heard a door open from behind him.

He didn’t say ‘I love you’ in the voice mail he left for you.

Admin Nanacchi’s Note:
So if you guys are reading this after this quite brutal angst that i totally did not mean to write, i just wanted to say thank you guys for giving me nearly 1.5k of followers ;; ~ ;;. I was afraid that since my semi-hiatus there would be a lack of love for my small little writing haven. (but yay for my short reading week.
I don’t know why i feel so attached to this angst almost, but I do know a few things.
1) As much as i enjoy writing fluff and happiness I live to write something sad and idk why. This ask was randomly chosen and I got an idea instantly.
2) My friend whom I still love and care for passed away from this disease. I didn’t remember the name of it, but when I was searching for a ‘death sentencing disease’ it popped up and you don’t know how hard it was to write the letter after. A while back when this blog first started a friend had to post on my behalf to say i was not writing for a day because of a mishap. That mishap was that my friend’s tumblr had been q’d to send me and some other friends letters written by him. They were dated 3 years forward aka 3 years was last year in the summer when my friend knew we all grew up without him. 3 years where i finally reached his age and there’s not a day where I don’t read the letter over and over again.
And why is this usually optimistic fanfic writer telling people who possible don’t care about this? well i guess this touched me a lot and i dont want to lose the fading existence that is my friend. That’s all.

Thanks for reading.

Kiss Cam - USUK

Summary: Arthur’s been forcibly dragged to a hockey game and is having the worst time until he ends up on a kiss cam with the very hot alpha sitting next to him
Pairing: USUK
AU: Omegaverse, University
Rating: SFW, mild language

Arthur restlessly shifted where he sat on a hard, metallic bench surrounded by others who cheered and jeered at the rink before them. Gil bumped into him, knocking him sideways, and the omega wanted to be more angry with him had it not been for the fact that the person sitting on his right side was the best looking alpha Arthur had ever seen. It flustered him and he remembered regrettably how pouty and hunched he’d been for a majority of the game thus far until he’d noticed the alpha. To be fair, the alpha had been turned to the beta next to him, talking enthusiastically. It hadn’t been until someone screaming and knocking on the glass to their left had drawn the alpha’s attention his way. That’s when Arthur got a look at his face and found himself absolutely melting with how warm the alpha’s blue eyes were. Not at all icy or cold but absolutely enchanting.

TRUE ROMANCE + Book 2 of Soul Mate

Summary: What if second chances did exist…except in another lifetime?

A/N: I’m so sorry this took so long to be put up, I just realized in like two days it marks a month since the last part of soul mate was uplodaded and damn time flies! Here’s part one of the mini series I promised you all, the continuation of Soul Mate! (you can also find me on AO3 under the username dickren!)

Word Count: 4.5K+

Warning: None!

It was yet another beautiful morning in New York City where the sun shined it’s brightest, for once, you hadn’t slept in through your alarm so you actually had time to make it over to your favorite coffee shop. With a job like yours, an on call nurse, sleep was a gift and when it was given you took full advantage of it–which sometimes made you oversleep with how exhausted you had been. But, you loved your job and you wouldn’t trade it for the world, babies were your favorite kind of people–if that even made sense–so of course you didn’t dread what you did on a daily basis. What kind of life was it where you did a job you were never meant to do? A very cruel one that is. “Excuse me ma'am, are you alright?” Looking up from the book, you sniffled a bit before wiping the few tears that had escaped. “I saw you crying and wondered if you were okay?”

Nodding your, you smiled. “Oh, yeah, definitely…I was just reading this romance novel that literally killed me. Sorry if I worried you!” Shutting the book as you had reached its end, you looked at your watch and nearly panicked. “Oh, great, I’m almost late for work!” Standing up and picking up your things, you tossed the empty plastic coffee cup away along with the napkins before excusing yourself.

“It’s no problem, dear, hope you don’t get late to work,” The older woman smiled as she waved at you.

“Thank you, uh…?”

“Maz! Maz Kanata!” Nodding your head as your eyebrows furrowed the slightest, you simply shrugged at how unique her name was.

“Thank you, Maz!” Waving goodbye, you rushed out, stuffing the book into your purse as you rue the idea of living in New York where almost everywhere you went was packed, especially when your job was in the hospital on the fifth floor rather than first. Hearing your phone ring, you grunted as you searched for it. “He-hello? Hey, Rey!”

“Hey, you sound…out of breath? You alright?”

“Fine, yeah! Totally! Just the fact that I may be late to work-”

“It’s because of Soul Mate. Are you still reading Soul Mate? I swear, you’ve read that book a good ten times-”

“Fifteen,” You corrected, dodging crowds.

“Fifteen?! Not a surprise…let me guess, you cried yet again.”

“Of course! He loved her so much and she died for him! It so beautiful, Rey! Not my fault you don’t have a romantic bone in your body…” You mumbled, causing her to gasp.

“I am in a relationship with Finn, excuse you!”

“Yeah yeah, look, I gotta go-”

“Wait! Are you still coming tomorrow night? You know, I’d like my best friend at my engagement party.”

“You mean, excuse-to-go-drinking-and-clubbing? You know I’m not all that into drinking…or clubbing…”

“Yeah, that’s why you work with babies. But hey, you’re still going ‘cause you love me, right? It’s not like we’re going to a strip club or anything…”

Sighing, you nodded. “Of course, anything for you, Rey…”

“Good! Poe will be there…wink wink-”

“Hush! I don’t like him that way, I can’t say the same for him about me…the flyboy is always so smiley around me. Not that I don’t mind, his smile is great.”

“Alright, that is true. Still doesn’t beat my smile. But whatever.”

“Who else is going?”

“Uh, you, Poe, Finn and I of course…Leia and Han wanna stop by…Jessika-”

“Poes pilot buddies, sweet. Leia and Han were able to get out of their busy lives? You’d think those busy people wouldn’t…” You pouted the slightest. “Hmm, I guess they’re not busy enough helping the air force with supplies or busy dealing medical equipment to hospitals.”

“Hey, out of all of us, you see them the most. Resistance Hospital’s number one supporter is Leia Organa and Han Solo.”

“I do, but I don’t know them that well, I mean, Leia is sweet but when do I really see her? Moms a good friend of hers but with my nursing life I’m too busy handling babies. Plus, dad is a pilot so he’s friends with Han…but not that close, he’s more close with Luke.”

“Yeah, speaking of which, dad won’t be attending because he’ll be in Africa…but, he says he’d try skyping me so let’s see how that goes.”

“Ah, have fun with that.” Seeing the hospital come into view, you looked at your wrist watch and sighed. “Thank god, I’m on time. I’ll talk to you later.”

“Love you!”

“Love you, too,” Hanging up, you slid your phone into the pocket of your scrubs before quickening your speed. You loved your job but man were the long hours tiring, especially when you worked on only five hours of sleep with nearly twelve hour shifts. At least the doctors and nurses were nice and the job paid well for you to have a decent loft.

Swerving and darting past crowds of people, you sighed in relief as you made it out in one piece, only to have someone knock right into you and cause you to fall flat on your ass. “Hey, watch where you’re-Oh, oh I’m so sorry!” Furrowing your eyebrows at the tone they had, you only raised them as they had changed it. “I didn’t see you there…” Seeing a hand come into view, you instantly took it and only felt chills run down your spine.

“It’s fine, it’s fine…” Looking straight ahead, all you saw was a torso. “I don’t blame you, you’re really…” Eyes trailing up his body, your eyebrows raised. “Tall…” Unable to see his face as the sun was blinding you, you used your hand as a visor.

“Yeah, sorry, this tends to happen when I’m walking past crowds,” Trying to see his face, the glare from the sun didn’t help one bit.

“Do you occasionally run into people?” You asked, chuckling.

“Uh, sort of…except sometimes I can’t help them up because people get in the way and I feel terrible about it.”

“Glad to be an exception,” You nodded, still squinting your eyes. “I’m sorry, I can’t see your face at all and it’s weird talking to practically nothing…”

“Ah, right…” Shifting over, he instantly blocked the sun, your hand falling to your side as you smiled.

“Thanks,” Looking up at him, you nearly gawked. He wasn’t your ideal guy but boy was he good looking. You couldn’t tell if it was the nice slicked back dark hair or the dimpled smile or maybe the towering height…but something about him called to you. “That’s…better…”

“You seem like you’re in a rush, am I in your way?” He simply asked, causing you to shake your head.

“No, yeah, I mean no…well, yeah I have work in five minutes but you’re being nice and nice people are fairly hard to run into on these sidewalks so…” Smiling, you only melted at the sight of his own as his dimples appeared.

“I’ll take that as a compliment?” He chuckled, causing you to smile even more. “But, honestly, I feel as if I’m in your way so, please…” Moving to a side, he gestured for you to go, “I don’t want you to be late.”

“Oh, oh yeah. Yeah, it’s fine.” Swatting a hand, you shrugged. “I should go. Uh, thank you again…what’s your name?”

Grinning, he shook his head as he stuck his hand out. “I don’t believe I introduced myself, what man doesn’t introduce himself to the lady he rams himself into?”

“It’s alright, my name is Y/N, or nurse Y/L/N…” You chuckled, taking his hand and feeling the chills run down your spine once more, only to crawl across your skin and bring goosebumps.

“Lovely name, I’ll admit, especially the whole nurse additive,” He nodded, “Ben, my name is Ben, or Mister Solo, I really don’t have a cool add on.” He teased, causing you to laugh.

“Nice to meet you Ben, hope to see you again. Or crash into you again…”

“One day, maybe.” Ben laughed, waving at you before you rushed off.

“See you some other day!”

There had been a strange sense of warmth from Ben, you weren’t sure if it was physical or mental, the fact that you couldn’t differentiate if it were coming from the surrounding heat of the passing bodies and burning sun or if it had been radiating off of him. Was it actually body warmth or was there an unusual sense of familiarity, as if you had felt it before–déja vu kind of emotion. What ever it had been, the lingering sensation was felt the entire day, as if it hadn’t had the desire to leave. “Miss Y/L/N?” Looking over your shoulder as you had been lost in thought, you gave the young man a smile. “I thought I’d come by and check on my little Daisy,” Standing patiently by the door, you gave the man a nod before placing the file you had been holding onto down, gesturing for him to follow you.

Taking in a deep breath, you stopped at the little incubator the baby was lying in, picking up her files and reading them, “Little Daisy here is an angel, she barely fusses and…” Letting out a soft chuckle, you looked over to the father, “Sleeps a lot. I see you and Mrs.Lucas having no problems when she leaves our care.” Giving the man a nod, you closed the files and placed them back down. “As long as she gets her feeding on time, you should be good.”

Releasing a sigh, the man shut his eyes only to reopen them. “Oh, thank god. I mean, not like I wasn’t going to be upset that she’d keep us up all night, but I have long shifts and I feel terrible leaving my wife alone with the baby…of course, we have our dog, but you know dogs can’t do much,” He snickered, causing you to let out a small laugh. “But that, that is very good to hear…and that she is healthy?” He stated, more in a questioning tone.

Nodding your head as you stuck your freezing hands into the scrubs pockets. “Well, besides the fact that she is a preemie, she has slight breathing problems. But, no worries, she will be fine in no time.” Giving him a reassuring smile, he let out a sigh of relief. “She should be ready to go home in a few days,” Nodding your head, the man took in a deep breath.

“Thank you, for taking care of her,” Placing a hand on his chest, he bowed his head the slightest, “I’ll be honest, I was worried…we were worried, my wives sister had a preemie and he had to stay in NICU for a good fifteen days.”

Taking a step away, you spoke up, “It depends on the issues the baby is going through, lucky for you, Daisy isn’t suffering too much. She’ll be just fine, trouble with breathing is quite common for preemies.”

“Again, thank you for everything. Will we see you when we pick her up?” He asked, curiously.

“Most likely, I work really long shifts so there is a high chance. Plus,” Whispering, you leaned over, “Daisy is my favorite.” Giving him a wink, he only chuckled. “But I hope so, I’d like to say my goodbyes to the little angel before she leaves.”

Smiling, he nodded in agreement. “I should get going, thank you, once again.”

Watching the man walk away, you smiled as you waved goodbye before placing your stethoscopes on to check on one of the babies breathing. “Okay, little Johnny, let’s see how you’re doing today,” Sweetly speaking to the baby, you were about to check the babies breathing before the other nurse who helped you out went up to you.

“You have someone asking for you outside,” Furrowing your eyebrows, you placed the stethoscope back around your neck, “Someone by the name of…Leia?” Growing wide eyed, you nodded.

“Oh, oh Mrs.Organa,” Moving to a side, you aimed for the door. “Mind checking on Johnny’s breathing and chart it?”

“Of course,” The nurse gave you a thumbs up before you exited the room, looking down the hall, then turning the opposite way to see the older woman standing there.

“Mrs.Organa?” Looking up, she smiled.

“Oh, please call me Leia, Y/N.” Walking over to you, you stuck your hand out for her to shake, only for her to pull you into a hug. “I haven’t seen you in a while! You’ve turned into quite the lady.”

Softly laughing, you looked over at her as she now held onto your hands. “Well, it’s been a while, although I see you from afar…here and there. How are you? How is the business? Han?”

Taking in a breath, Leia responded. “I’m doing good, the business is fine…Han, well, Han is Han…” Laughing, you grinned. “How about you? How are you doing with being a nurse? Let alone, working such long hours?”

“I-…I’m doing fine, surviving,” You stated, “I love what I do, so I don’t mind the short hours of sleep, though I do appreciate my time off, they are wonderful for sleeping in or walking my dog…or catching up on the outside world.”

“You should take a few days off, I spoke to a few of your coworkers and saw your records, you work the hardest out of 'em all, lots of hours…I promise you, if you don’t take a day off–at least a day–I will personally take it off for you.” Laughing, Leia only arched an eyebrow. “I’m serious, Y/N! Your mother sometimes worries…your health is important.”

“Thanks, mom,” You teased, “But I’m fine, very fine. Plus, I think I am taking off the weekend. I mean, it is Rey’s engagement party tomorrow night and I’m usually on call on the weekends, so-”

“Do you work every day?”

“I mean, it’s not like I have other things to do besides walk the dog, watch TV…and sleep?” You shrugged, causing Leia to shake her head.

“You don’t have a boyfriend?”

“N…No…” You nervously stated, rubbing the back of your neck, “I mean, I’ve gone on dates here and there and they aren’t the one and it’s kind of hard because it’s like we never click. And then when I think we do, it just flat out fails, so I’ve taken a break…”

Arching an eyebrow, she placed her hands on her hips, “For how long?”

Awkwardly laughing, you scratched your head, “Uh…a year-”

“A YEAR?!” She shouted, causing the passer by-ers to give her a weird look before she apologized.

“What? I’ve kinda given up-”

“Y/N, honey, there has to be someone out there for you, I feel it…I mean, you’re a lovely, intelligent, well rounded girl…there has to be someone.” Leia insisted as you pushed your hand through your hair. Truth is, you did feel like something was missing in your life, as if it had been there before but you had lost it, not remembering when or what it even was.

“Leia, trust me, I’m fine!” You stated. “I’m a-okay being single, plus, my life is too busy to have someone else in it-”

“That’s because you make it busy,” Leia crossed her arms. “That’s it, you work tomorrow and I’m making sure you get Saturday and Sunday off.” She pointed a finger before walking off, only to turn around as your eyes followed her. “Scratch that, Saturday till next Friday off. Then you can go back to on call,” She winked, causing you to gasp.

“But I can’t-” Calling out to her, she only left your sight as she rounded the corner. “I can’t miss Daisy’s departure…” You frowned, only to sigh as you went back into your 'work space’. At least you had a good four hours left before you had your take out dinner and five hour sleep.

And so those four hours had gone ever so quickly–as they always had–and you couldn’t help but be the slightest of upset that you’d be leaving the babies side. You loved being surrounded by them, they were the purest things breathing and living, mind you, the sight of them made you tear up because they were that cute. It was sad to think that you were already in your mid twenties and hadn’t found the one, let alone, had to see hundreds of parents having newborns. Wasn’t like you envied them, although you were a tad bit jealous, but still, you were happy for them.

Saying your goodbyes and clocking out, you headed down the stairs rather than the crowded elevator before hitting the lobby, rushing over to catch a taxi as walking a few blocks wasn’t in your agenda at the moment. “Taxi!” You called out, seeing one stop and ready to go in, just before someone else’s hand went to reach for the handle, too. “Oh, uh-”

“No, you can go, I’ll just-”

“No, you can-” Looking up, you smiled, recognizing the face and towering height. “Ben? I didn’t think see you another day would be the same day, but hey…”

Lightly chuckling, Ben shrugged. “At least we didn’t crash, though I’m sure you were about to steal my taxi,” He pointed, making your mouth fall into an 'o’.

“Uh, no, last time I checked…you were stealing mine.” You pointed to yourself, only to see Ben arch an eyebrow.

“How about we just share the cab, I’ll feel guilty if I took it knowing you’d stay behind waiting,” He suggested.

“Are you saying that you wouldn’t give up a cab for a lady?” You asked, causing Ben to nod. “Wow, rude!” Gently snacking his arm, he only laughed, the two of you nearly jumping as the taxi driver honked. “That’s our cue to go in.”

“Yeah,” Quickly opening the door for you, you had slid in, followed by Ben. Telling the driver where to go, you looked over to Ben, waiting for him to say his address. “Oh, no, I’ll just walk home when you get dropped off.”

Furrowing your eyebrows, you shook your head. “W-what? No way-”

“It’s fine, it’s fine! I usually don’t take the cab, but since it was convenient, I took it. I don’t mind walking-”

“No, Ben, come on…” You looked at him with your head slightly tilted. “I’ll-I’ll lend you my bike, or-”

Laughing, Ben only shook his head. “I’m fine, though I could’ve gone for a skateboard…”

“Skateboard? What are you, fifteen?” You teased, causing Ben to stick out his tongue. “Scratch that, twelve?”

“Haha, very funny, Y/N. No, I’m actually sixteen, get it right.” He winked, causing your eyebrow to raise as you lied your hand on your chest.

“Whoa-ho, so-rry. Didn’t know you could be so tall at sixteen, but hey, life surprises you in many ways.”

“I’ve been this tall since I was thirteen, actually,” Ben stated in a matter-of-fact tone.

Blinking, your jaw hung loose. “N-no way! That’s a lie, that tall since thirteen? How tall are you anyways?” You curiously asked. If you had to guess, he was probably six feet…easily six feet. He towered you like all the buildings in New York.

“Six-three,” Nearly choking on your own spit, you gulped. Six-three? He did seem as if he were a foot taller than you, or so it felt. “My mom hates it because she only has men in her life, excluding my cousin–and even then, my cousin is tall, too. We’re all tall, ranging from five-seven to six-three…then there’s mom, a whopping five-one,” He chuckled, making you laugh as you couldn’t believe the poor lady was a damn ant to the rest of her family.

“I’m sorry for her, though I kind of feel her pain…my father and older brother are tall, my mother is of a decent height…and then there’s me, I’m pretty short compared to them.” You shrugged as Ben looked over to you and half smiled.

“Yeah, but it’s cute,” He sweetly stated, causing you to casually avert your eyes and look at your far more interesting nails as you tried not to blush–although you clearly did. “Oh god, that sounded creepy, I’m sorry…”

Shooting your head up, you shook your head. “No-no, it’s fine! I’ll take it as-as a compliment,” You nodded with a smile, Ben letting out a small sigh of relief as he felt his own cheeks heat up from embarrassment. How could he have possibly blurted that out. Sure he was suave, but not that suave, especially around someone he had (quote on quote) just met that made his heart flutter. He’d be lying if he said you weren’t making him the slightest of nervous.

“I’m sorry, I really feel like I’m being a creep…” He nervously snickered. “I mean, I’m thirty and you’re probably like twenty or something-”

“Thirty? You don’t look it…” You nearly gasped, only to furrow your eyebrows. “Twenty? Do I really look that young?” Looking back over to you, Ben nodded.

“I could have sworn you were twenty, or at least in your early twenties…” He knitted his eyebrows as you shook your head, fighting a smile.

“Twenty five, but close enough,” You swatted a hand as Ben shrugged the slightest. “Five years isn’t a big difference, so your creepiness is taken as kindness…sorta?”

Arching an eyebrow, Ben tilted his head, “Sorta? So I am being creepy?” Feeling the guilt rush back, Ben only rubbed his face in embarrassment.

Shaking your head and waving your hands, you corrected yourself. “No, no! I mean, I’m saying it’s sort of kind? I-I-”

“We are here,” The taxi driver interrupted, causing you to slouch as you nervously turned away to give the money, only to have Ben stop you.

“What are you-” Seeing him pay, you tried pulling his hand back. “Ben, it’s fine, I can-”

Pushing your hand down, Ben thanked the driver before turning to you. “It’s enough that I nearly ran you over today and almost stole your ride, it’s the least I can do.”

“But I-” Watching him get out of the car, you placed your money back into your wallet, tossing it into your purse as the door next to you opened. “I can pay you back-”

“Don’t think about it,” He pointed a finger as you got out of the cab, shutting the door as you turned to face him. “It’s no big deal.”

“But I-”

“Y/N…” Crossing his arms, you only let out a deep breath.

“I seriously-” Hovering his index finger over your lips, you frowned.

“Like I said, no big deal. Honestly, a few dollars doesn’t bug me, I work y'know,” He shrugged.

“I work, too! I could’ve-” Turning you around by your shoulders, Ben guided you around the cab and to the entrance of the building. “Look, that’s very kind of you, but-”

“The cab is gone, Y/N, you can’t do anything about it.” Shrugging, Ben dug his hands into the pocket of his jacket as you turned around. “Say it’s my treat…of some sort.”

Pouting, you crossed your arms. “I feel terrible.”

“Fine,” Ben sighed as he took his hand out of his pocket in order to push his hair back. “You can pay me back another time, but not in cash…anything but cash. I seriously don’t need it.” He insisted, causing you to narrow your eyebrows.

Nodding your head, your hands fell to your side. “Alright, fair enough. What can it be?”

Tapping his chin, Ben smiled, “I’ll let you know…eventually.”

“What if we don’t see each other again?”

“Oh, I’m sure we will.” Taking a few steps back, as if to walk away, he gave you a wink, “After all, we did see each other again today!”

Letting out a breath, you waved goodbye as Ben had been waving to you before he had turned around and jogged off. Sitting on the seats of the steps, you lied your chin in the palm of your hands, taking in a deep breath as you looked up to the darkening sky.

You promised yourself you wouldn’t fall for somebody else, but the way Ben was making you feel by just being a kind gentleman didn’t help at all. Something about him was so appealing–and it wasn’t just his looks nor his persona–it was something else, something you couldn’t physically hold onto or point out. And it was bothering you–big time.

Entering your loft and being greeted by an eager pup, you knelt down and pet him as you tossed your keys and purse onto the counter of your kitchen, “Hey, Astro,” You smiled, getting a sufficient amount of licks as a representation of the dogs love for you. You wouldn’t lie, at the time, all the love you needed was from your dog. “You’re the only boy I need in my life, right?” Watching the pup tilt his head, you only let out a huff as you stood up, patting your thigh for him to follow you as you went over to add more food to his bowl. “Jeez, you eat so much…”

Microwaving food rather than ordering take out, you plopped yourself onto your couch to watch the endless amounts of shows hogging up your DVR, only to finish your food and knock out there and then. Sure, you loved your job, but man were the hours long–at times, you tend to find yourself falling asleep in places other than your bed.

Running into you wasn’t a coincidence, and he knew that for sure. The feeling that ran through his skin after coming to contact with your own earlier that day only hovered in the back of his mind, it was a feeling he hadn’t felt in so long. Your touch was unique and only you made his body feel such sort of way. Throughout the day, he couldn’t help but subconsciously touch the hand that had held your own.

It was a shame he had known you, yet, you hadn’t know him.Lying back on his bed, an arm crossed behind his head as the other had been holding onto a book, hand shutting it as he placed it on his chest, Ben let out a sigh. This must’ve been Ben’s fifteenth time rereading the romance slash science fiction novel and each time he had, he only grew more anxious. It was a shame he had to read a damn book to relive the moments you two had once shared in another life.

“Fifteenth time? Really, Ben?” Grunting, he rubbed his face, a sudden wave of images overflowing in his mind.

You were standing in front of him with wide eyes full of surprise, Ben towering in front of you as he searched them. The silence had waved over the two of you, the words 'Because, I love you that much’ echoed in his head before Ben had shot his eyes open. It pained him knowing only he had remembered it all.

He hoped. He had hoped that maybe, just maybe, you had dreamt about it. That maybe they felt like a faint remembrance, a recollection of some sort that had been stowed away in the deepest parts of your brain where they had been hidden for as long as forever.

Putting the leather book onto the nightstand, he quickly shut off the lamp before finding himself lost in the darkness. Why did he have to suffer this way? It was enough that he had lost you then…maybe this was a second chance?

Kinda Like A Taylor Swift Song

Written for the prompt: Dean and Cas both crushing on each other, but finally getting thecourage to tell each other on Valentine’s Day.

Working on Valentine’s Day kinda sucks, but it’s not as bad as working on Thanksgiving or Christmas. And it’s not like Dean has anyone special to spend it with anyway. In fact, the one person he’d want to spend it with is already standing next to him, bagging groceries with quick deft hands, and an expression better suited for a challenging crossword puzzle than a grocery store.

He started working at the same grocery store as Dean about three months ago. He’s quiet, frowns more than anyone Dean’s ever met, and talks about the weirdest shit in the universe when he does get around to talking. Seriously, stars, and honeybees, and how much better green tea is than earl grey; that’s the kind of crap the guy goes on about.

At first Dean had wondered if Castiel grew up in a hole or something; he doesn’t understand any pop culture references, he has no people skills whatsoever, and he talks like every word is important. But after about a week, all of Castiel’s weird quirks became less weird and more… cute. (Let it be known Dean Winchester has never actually used that word in conjunction with a human being before.)

There’s just something about the guy that had drew Dean in and turned him into a sputtering, nervous, pink-cheeked wreck whenever Castiel was in close vicinity to Dean. Which, because Castiel is Dean’s bagger, is all the freaking time.

“Have a good night,” Dean tells the woman standing at his check out. She’s probably in her mid-twenties, she isn’t wearing a wedding ring, and all she purchased is ice cream and Cosmopolitan magazine. She’s most likely spending the night alone. He offers her a wink for good measure and smiles triumphantly when she blushes ever so slightly and hurries off.

“You’re very good with the customers,” Castiel states as he watches the woman’s retreating form. He says it like it’s the conclusion to a scientific observation.

Dean lets out a laugh, bumping Castiel’s shoulder with his own. “Maybe if you weren’t frowning all the damn time.” He points out.

“I am not frowning all the time, I’m just thinking.”

“You sure do a lot of thinking,” Dean replies.

Castiel opens his mouth to respond, but another patron, an elderly woman, is emptying the contents of her cart on Dean’s counter, and they avert their attention to her.

“You sure do have pretty eyes,” the woman says as Dean rings up her cat food. The comment is directed at Castiel, and as he realizes this he blushes, muttering a quiet thank you that sends Dean’s lips spreading into a smile.

“Doesn’t he?” Dean agrees, shooting Castiel a teasing smirk. The words come out sounding like a joke, as Dean intends them to, but in reality Dean’s stomach is in frenzied knots because yeah Castiel has great eyes, but this is the closest Dean’s ever come to admitting he’s noticed.

Castiel shakes his head and bags up the cat food placed before him.

“You boys have a good night,” the woman says as Castiel places her grocery bags into her waiting arms.

Chapter Eleven: The Apple Far from the Tree

Lucy sighed as she shifted in theplush armchair that was once a decorative item in one of her father'smany useless rooms. It was not like he wanted guests over, ever. So,she took it upon herself to practice the art of thievery on the particular seat that now was her ‘throne’. The smooth cloth felt nice on her bare skin, library days meaning she could wear shorts and whatever else she liked as long as she remained inside at all times.

Nobody from the outside dared intrude on Heartfilia property, especially on Sundays.

At her side, a fresh cup of tea rested on its cup plate, in turn sitting on a silver platter with crumpets and other small snacks. The teapot was the only item that did not match the clean flowery looks of the china, the spout cracked and aged with constant use and wear.

The set Lucy used had been a gift for her thirteenth birthday, but the pot belonged to the set her mother received as a wedding present. After Layla’s passing, Jude tried to smash every last piece of the beloved set in his pained rage. The little teapot was the only thing Lucy managed to save.

All around her, books were stacked in order of topic, becoming more like a wall of literature that shielded the blonde from the cruel world. Not even Levy dared to disturb the organized chaos of the leather bound books, knowing Lucy had a plan for them and would return them to the shelves after the items served a purpose.

Speaking of, the blue haired woman coughed as she glanced up from her massive desk in the center of the library, the light of the sun casting through the giant windows at her back. Lucy glanced up from her tome of Fioreian history, pulling off her red rimmed reading glasses in amusement. “Yes?”

The petite librarian rose a brow, setting down her quill and crossing her arms over the paperwork; eyes leveling with the blonde heiress with serious knowledge behind her lips. “You have been in here for the past five hours, Lu-chan. Is something else troubling you?”

Something else, referring to the morning after Jose’s party when Lucy came barreling in with nothing but her sleepwear on and asking about the assassin caught that night. Levy, fortunately having heard about such an incident along the grapevine just hours earlier, informed the blonde that in a strange upset: the assassin broke out and vanished. Jose was clearly upset, claiming that the assassin had help and clearly was a threat to his safety.

Hence the doubling of his guards.

Lucy shook her head with a smile, grabbing the handle of the dainty cup and blowing on the hot liquid. “No, just doing some reading to pass up my writers block. That prisoner escaping Jose’s grasp was quite a distraction. Knowing Sir Jose, he must certainly feel embarrassed about his prisoner escaping, but that is none of my business.” The woman  mused with a light giggle, sipping her tea with great poise and airy care.

Levy giggled, rolling her eyes. “No, never.” Her arms unfolded, fingers pinching a quill as the librarian began to bury herself back in the paperwork. “Though, I do wonder about your little meetings in the gardens…”

Lucy choked, nearly dropping the delicate cup back on its plate as she breathed, face turning bright red. “Wha- I do not- what do you speak of?!” she spluttered, not at all graceful or totally inconspicuous. Her face burned under the blush, her whole head feeling hot.

The librarian chuckled, pressing her hand to her mouth to hide the grin that was so obviously there. “Right. My eyes have deceived me. You were not going to the gardens for a boy. Not you.”

Lucy scowled at her friend, huffing. “Levy, I do enjoy the company of nature-”

The blue haired woman grinned wolfishly, hazel eyes sharp for the kill. “Oh? You seem to favor that one bush at the corner of the garden-”
