Am I the only one that doesn’t care at all that Mon El said that he loved Kara before Sanvers have said it? Like the relationship between Kara and Mon El is messy and lacks development, so I’m not surprised that he said that he loved her so quickly. In all honesty he may not even truly love her, she’s just the first person he’s truly been attached to and not a hook up, which he was doing on Daxam.
BUT Sanvers has been developed and I’m just waiting for that special moment that they actually say it. Not some type of “I’m saying this cause I don’t want to lose you bullshit,” but they say it cause it’s true. Cause they truly can’t live without one another and love each other, ride or die. When they do say it, it will be impactful and not easily forgotten like Mon El’s confession.
I miss you, I think about you, I want to text you, but I shouldn’t. I shouldn’t do any of it because you don’t deserve it. I shouldn’t do it because I know you don’t care about me, and that’s the worse part about this all. I know you don’t care about me, yet I'm still hung up on you.
Look, if the only thing you have to say about shojo is “it’s abusive and bad” and the only thing you have to say about manga written by LGBT people is… well, nothing, while you’re scrambling desperately to argue that your newest favorite moe anime is So Progressive and even Revolutionary, I’m not going to take you seriously.
Those are the lay of the land.
P.S. Also this latest trend of “josei is like shojo… but GOOD” needs to stop, since if you actually had access to the general output of josei in Japan and/or you took off your “this is new to me and therefore awesome” rose-colored goggles you’d realize that josei can be just as awful as any other demographic, and also if you think it’s feminist to generalize wildly about the qualities of shojo in order to shit on it, you’re sadly mistaken.
