you don't even know where my mind went the first time i read this

anonymous asked:

what about the stairs in the forests!!! and what doc were you watching and would you recommend?

ok so I DON’T BELIEVE IN THE STAIRS IN THE FORESTS! mainly because I’m A Search and Rescue Officer for the U.S. Forest Service, and I Have Some Stories to Tell a) is posted on /r/nosleep so it’s definitely made up, b) the op admits to knowing about David Paulides, and lbr knowing about = being influenced by, so it’s definitely made up, and c) if you read all the way through to the end it stops being even vaguely believable and starts reading like a WTNV transcript, and then he plugs his book, so it’s DEFINITELY MADE UP. however, it is an amazing (read: terrifying) thread, some of it is obviously based on truths/insider SAR knowledge which means a lot of it is probably uncomfortably close to actually being true, and it’s a good Gateway Read into MISSING PEOPLE IN NATIONAL PARKS CONSPIRACY THEORIES, which is where I live now. (plus, if you read this before getting into anything else it imbues every single missing persons case with an unsettling sense of Eldritch horror, which is why I had to turn on three overheads and unfocus my eyes all the way to the bathroom last night at 2am.)

so yeah, after reading that /r/nosleep thing for the first time I drew a line under it and moved on until SOMEONE (ahem@roundtop) sent me a link to an article called How 1,600 People Went Missing from Our Public Lands Without a Trace (on a legit and sensible outdoorsy people website), like ‘haha, stairs in the forest!’ and I SWAN DIVED DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE. thus: the documentary-watching, staying up till 2am and spending all day today trying to find copies of David Paulides’ books for less than $80 inc. postage.

THIS DUDE DAVID PAULIDES. he was in law enforcement before, for some reason, deciding to become a ~*~cryptozoologist~*~ and certified gung-ho Bigfoot conspiracy theorist, and through that found out about how many people had disappeared without a trace from National Parks in the U.S., did 7,000 hours worth of digging, and wrote a bunch of books about it. his books are called Missing 411 and are about the ridiculous number of people who go missing in National Parks, the usually weird circumstances around their disappearances, the fact that when people are found (dead or alive) it’s often in places miles and miles and sometimes waaaaay higher up mountains than where they disappeared from, and all sorts of creepy crap to boot. like they can’t get bloodhounds to find a scent, or they find tiny children miles away from where they got lost, barefoot, without a scratch on the soles of their feet, human remains being found years later in places that were search dozens and dozens of times. not to mention the National Parks… People (? I really don’t know enough to be making this post) are aware of what’s happening but don’t keep a list of the people who’ve gone missing on their lands.

(which is all part of why I’m A Search and Rescue Officer for the U.S. Forest Service is so freaky – enough of it (people being found miles away, kids being found up mountains, the people in charge being cagey about it all) sounds real that you can believe it was actually written by a SAR Officer. heebies!)

it’s all real nightmare fuel, if you’re the sort of person who is absolutely terrified by all this Scary Forest Disappearing People Unexplainable Deaths stuff, i.e. me. luckily I can’t afford to buy any of them! phew! however, I haven’t let that stop me from a) SCARING MYSELF SHITLESS and b) BECOMING A TIN HATTER, and it shouldn’t stop you either: you can read loads of stuff over at /r/missing411, listen to one of his initial interviews (in which he talks about how he was approached by two park employees in plain clothes who were like ‘please investigate this, there’s SOMETHING going on and it’s so goddamn weird’) on Coast to Coast AM (which is, like, a paranormal radio station… I’m sorry), watch a bunch of Paulides’/CanAm Missing Project’s vids about disappearances on youtube, and listen to hours worth of interviews and late night spooky radio/podcast discussions with Paulides.

the documentary I thought I was watching was Missing 411, which is based on his books and Kickstarted by the public in 2015, but it turns out that they’re apparently shopping it around at festivals so it’s not out yet. what I was actually watching (and quickly abandoned) was a weird supercut of all of David Paulides’ tv interviews and some cryptozoologist chatter about Bigfoot. Paulides, god love him, never ever SAYS Bigfoot in any of his books, and everything he presents is 100% factually accurate and extensively researched, but… I think we can safely say he thinks it’s Bigfoot. tbh, after reading about Jaryd Atadero I think it’s Bigfoot. I mean, goddamn.

so, yeah. I’ve finished reading every search and rescue story on this blog (Hunt for the Death Valley Germans is LONG but awesome), I’ve got West of Memphis ready to watch after work tomorrow because I remembered how much I love that case and spooky true crime things, if you have any related LINKS or STUFF about This Shit then REBLOG THIS/MSG ME AND TELL ME, or if you have a copy of a Missing 411 book you wouldn’t mind mailing to me then LET ME KNOW, and in conclusion I can’t believe America is so fucking huge and unkind, goodnight.

Request: Hi I was wondering if you could do an arranged marriage scenario with jungkook from bts, where he doesn’t love reader at first but she’s always there for him and he’s always with other girls until she tries to leave and he realizes that he loves her. Sorry if that doesn’t make sense to you or if your not taking requests then never mind, ps love your writing.

You sighed as you pulled up to the club. “There’s my wife!” you hear as you turn to see Jeongguk, sadly your husband as he had his arm wrapped around a girl. “Thanks for picking us up” he coos as he moves to wrap his arms around you. You stepped away watching him nearly fall before standing straight “come on” he said grabbing the girl’s are before you stopped him “no only you” you tell him as he nodded. “Alright bye bye” he waved as he stumbled to the car.

“You’re so nice for driving out for me” Jeongguk stated as he sat in the back of the car. “Well the 23 calls times it hard to ignore your drunk ass” you tell him as he laughs lightly. “You know I don’t like being married” he continues as you sigh. “I know neither do I” you say. “I wish we could divorce life would be easier. I could have my life back” he says as you scoff “tell me about it” you shot back as you looked through the rearview to see him already passed out. Pulling into the driveway and into the garage and you simply got out of the car leaving him back there.

~

You smiled at your computer as you read an email from ‘J-Hope’ he was one of Jeongguk’s good buddies who felt bad for you being with someone who didn’t love you. The two of weren’t secretly dating or anything but wanted to help you out with getting away for a bit. The door to the garage opened as Jeongguk came in rubbing his neck. You didn’t even glance up from your computer and sipped your coffee. “Why was I in the back of the car?” he asked as he glared at you. “I couldn’t lift you out” you state as you sent an email back to Hoseok befor you put your laptop on sleep. “I have a horrible cramp-” “yeah yeah bitch to one of your sluts” you tell him as you head to your room to get ready for the day.

Your laptop made sound and Jeongguk felt curious as to who was emailing you at 7 in the morning. Glancing back down the hall he rushed to the computer as moved his finger against the mouse pad watching it light back up. He saw his friend’s email address clear there. ‘I’ll get you when Kook leaves this evening for the new club he heard about. He wouldn’t shut up about it. Make sure you’re packed and I’ll take you to the airport’ it read as he seemed shocked. “What?” he asked himself as he went to your browser and to your history as he saw that you had looked up a few different things ‘divorce lawyers(many) and great places to get away to’ he heard the door open as he closed the browser and put the computer on sleep before he got up and moved away.

~

You looked at your phone and saw that it was 9 PM already. You glanced over and saw that Jeongguk hadn’t budged from his spot on the couch. “Aren’t you leaving?” you asked as he made a sound. “Don’t feel like it” he spoke. “You not feeling up to party? You must be sick” you state as he looks up at you “maybe” he spoke as he watched your fingers type something on your phone. “Who are you talking to?” “None of your business so don’t bother” you say as you stood up leaving the living room as he sighs.

He didn’t know why he was feeling the need to have you stay but he did. Jeongguk had been craving his complete bachelor lifestyle back but at the same time he didn’t want to be alone. You came back our of your room with clear annoyance on your face before sitting back down “you know we’re having brunch with our mothers tomorrow-” “sadly” you mumble “do you want to invite them over?” he asked “no” you tell him “they would want a tour and see we sleep in different rooms. You have a pile of clothing that my parents know I wouldn’t step foot anywhere in front of your bedroom. Oh the personal favorite the collection of whore jewelry you’ve tried to pass off to me because we both know your mom would snoop through my jewelry box” you say as he sighs. “I don’t need people knowing about what I’ve been married to for the past two years" you tell him. “Yeah why did you wait two years to do something about it?” he growls annoyed.

“What?” you asked as he began panicking “how do you know about that?” you ask as he looks away “you privacy invading prick” “yeah? So what? You wouldn’t be sitting her right now if I didn’t” he almost yells. “You have no right to make me stay here. I tried to make this work for so long Jeongguk but its getting unbearable. I don’t like picking you up with your drunken one night stands. I don’t like hearing about what you did last night with her. I don’t like having to smile when I want to hide away and cry because my no good husband flirts with women right in front of me” you yelled by the end after having a normal tone but anger built itself up. “I’m done being with you” you tell him as he stood there quietly.

~

Jeongguk sat on the couch for who knows how long processing everything as you had angerily went to your room. He closed his eyes thinking about all the things he’s made you do for him. Before he rolled over and closed his eyes passing out on the couch.

He woke up to the harsh feeling of a hand smacking down on him before he rolled over to see you dressed up scrolling through your phone “get a shower. We have to get in 40” you state before walking away. He sighed as he got up and rushed to get ready. He looked himself over in the mirror before sighing. “I can become the perfect husband” he told himself as he left the bathroom.

~

Brunch went by smoothly as Jeongguk didn’t take it upon himself to flirt with the overly attractive waitress even though you could tell he was tempted. “So have you two started planning more for the future?” your mother asked as you looked up from your plate with a full mouth, you covered your mouth as you chewed before you spoke. “What do you mean?” you asked “oh come on don’t be silly about it. Have you two thought about children?” his mouth spoke as Jeonggul froze completely. “He probably has like 50 already” you mble “what was that dear?” his mouth peaked when she heard your soft talk. “Nothing nothing just speaking to myself” you said awkwardly.

“We’ve hit a large snag in the relationship” Jeongguk spoke as he was looked at by all of you as he took a sip from his drink. “What’s that dear?” his mother asked. Jeongguk looked at you as he spoke “we aren’t happy together” he told them honestly. “Not happy?” your mother asked as you looked away. “We haven’t been happy” he continues as you pushed your plate away getting up.

“I haven’t been a good man to your daughter Mrs. Y/N and I regret it more than anything because she wants to leave me now” he spoke as he took a deep breath. “I didn’t think losing her would affect me so much” he continues. “You’re an idiot” his mother spoke as he looked up. “I know” he spoke as he used his fork to play with his food.

~

The car ride was pretty much silent as you looked out the window the whole time. “You can leave” he said filling the silence. “I can’t make you stay and I should force you to stay in an unhappy situation” he continues as he pulls onto your street. “I’m sorry though. I am horrible man-” “please just stop” you say as he grips the steering wheel tightly but kept his mouth shut.

As soon as the car was in park he watched you get out. He just sat there and sighed resting his head onto the window. By the time he got in all the lights in the house nothing was on so he figured you had gone off to rest or something. He walked slowly to his room he heard nothing overly loud as he walked passed your door. Once he got to his room he threw himself down onto the bed staring off. Before he sat up again.

~

Once you woke up from a nap you could see that your door was opened, confused you sat up and looked around. Your missing jewelry box caught your eye as you got up. You headed out to the hall seeing that there was garbage bags there as Jeongguk stepped out of his room carrying another “what are you doing?” you asked as you could see into the bag of things that were in it. The clothing of his many one nighters that were left, he looked at you. “Cleaning” he spoke as he picked up your jewelry box and opening it “none of this is yours right?” he asked as you raised a brow. “Good” he said as he dumped the contents into the bag before handing the box back.

“What are you doing?” you asked again as he tied the bag. “What I should have done along time ago. Change my ways” he spoke picking up the bags and heading out of the home leaving you confused as to his sudden but much needed change.

Fic Prompt!: Brainwashed evil Dick with Batbros to the rescue! If you don't mind.

There you go. Tim decided he was the one in charge here, so I let him do all the angst. (Spoiler: it’s a lot of angst. As a matter of fact this is so sad, I’m just gonna go ahead and apologize for it in advance).

There’s little room for mistakes, so they keep it simple.

Red Robin goes first. Strategically speaking, he’s the only one capable of surprising Nightwing and throw him off balance, which is something that they really need if they want to overcome him with minimum damage.

Red Hood goes next. His fighting style is brutal and effective, and bruises are not a problem at this point. Besides, Nightwing doesn’t know that he’s not going to use his guns in their most effective way, so most of his focus will be on that and not on the next attack.

Robin’s supposed to go last. Take Nightwing by surprise, work on his sides, distract him enough for Tim and Jason to go for the second round, and immobilize and drug him before things get even more out of hands.

Like with all the simple things, the plan looked good on paper, but a few hiccups here and there were to be expected as a general rule, and they all were prepared for them.

What they were not prepared for, is for Robin to freeze in the middle of the fight.

It’s such an alien concept to Tim, that it takes him three seconds too many to realize what’s happening. And even when he does, even when he turns his attention from the sedative syringe he’s fumbling with to his younger brother, it doesn’t hit immediately.

We still don't know when they had sex and we'll never know probably. I guess that's okay since children are reading fairy tail too...

I’m pretty sure they conceived August when Mavis and him kissed. Not saying the kiss led to a baby, but that point in time was probably when the deed happened. She probably left it out because she wanted some privacy.

And I know children read Fairy Tail, but honestly it’s not as graphic as some people make it out to be. At least in my opinion. Yes there’s a lot of cleavage shots and inappropriate themes, but you get that in real life too. I can’t tell you how many times I went grocery shopping and saw women dressed in revealing clothes. (I’m talking one sneeze and they’ll pop out of their shirt)

And the topic of sex is not that scandalous. Besides, they didn’t explicitly say they had sex in the manga. It’s left up to your imagination. I’m pretty sure Mavis didn’t want to say, “and then I fucked the black wizard, Zeref,” to her guildmates.

I dislike crude things, but so far Fairy Tail seems decent to me when it comes to its fanservice and adult content. I’m not 100% sure who the manga is targeted for, but if readers got to this point without being bothered by all the other stuff in the manga, I’m pretty sure this isn’t going to change things.

And here’s the part where I go way off topic…

And by the way, I see some people saying Mavis was 12? She was 13, stuck in that body. Yes in our culture it’s considered disgusting for a 13 year old to have sex, but it was hundreds of years ago for them. I’m pretty sure I’ve read that in older times girls got married around 12 and started having babies not long after. Our modern society and the Fairy Tail universe are different places.

(I am not saying people should have sex early, just saying in different cultures and time it’s allowed)

Here’s a bit of TMI, but I was 14 when I lost my virginity. I knew exactly what I was doing, I knew the consequences of my actions, but I did it anyways. I’m sure Mavis (who was mentally an adult at the time. She was mentally at least 19-23) knew what she was doing. If I’m not mistaken, Zeref is also trapped as a child. He looks to be around 16 (in my opinion) so honestly I don’t see what the big deal is? They were both consenting adults, even if their bodies weren’t adults. Should they have to miss out on things in life just because of their curses?

Anyways… This turned into a small rant. All of the above is just my opinion. (Aside from Mavis being 13 and her mental age at the time being at least 19. That’s canon) Your opinion may be different, and that’s okay.

Hope I didn’t offend anyone, but if I did all I can say is I’m sorry? But I stand by what I said.

In case anyone wants proof: This picture is taken from my “Fairy Tail Zero” manga.

She was 13 when her body became immortal. The rest of the pictures are from the Fairy Tail manga, volume 53. Mavis’ first impression of Zeref:

When she first meets him she refers to him as a boy. Years later, it changes a bit.

It says 6 years later, but I think it meant 6 years after the war ended. If not, Mavis is at least, mentally 19 years old. She refers to him as a young man here. Don’t know why it changed considering neither of their bodies have aged since they first met.

The reason I said she’s at least 19-23 years old mentally is because in this last panel it says “well, it has been ten years, you know.” Meaning Zeref hadn’t seen Yuri (and Mavis) in 10 years. 13 + 10 =23. At this point Mavis is 23 years old mentally. I think that’s definitely old enough to have sex.

And finally…

Zeref confirms that Mavis is still maturing. She’s not mentally stuck at 13, only her body is.

I’m not saying what they did was right, but I don’t believe it’s necessarily wrong either. It’s in the gray area. They had a very specific circumstance around their relationship. If they were in the modern world then no, it would have been gross and wrong for them to have sex and conceive a child, but Fairy Tail isn’t the modern world.

Okay, I’m gonna go ahead and end this because it’s getting a bit long. Feel free to share your opinions, but keep in mind I ignore hate and fandom drama. Those are very different than just opinions.

All of these pages were taken straight from my official English manga.

im not sure how i found your blog but it is now my favorite, all this jikook content is saving my life i feel so blessed 🙏 if you don't mind me asking, what are your favorite jikook moments?

Awww…your making me blush you cute anon, staph it!!

But nice to hear that you like my weird trashy blog, feel free to stay as long as you like fam ;)But back to your ask on my favourite Kookmin/Jikook moments?…dear god I’m having so many war flashbacks right now of all the Jikook moments that those dorks have blessed and also made us suffer with. Where do I even begin?!?! Guess I have to try so you can watch me go and fail to make an essay on the couple that reduced me into a mess of tears. But before I start I have to say to everyone else who might read this, that these are only my personal observations and opinions on the dynamics of these two so if you don’t like it or don’t agree with me then please do not read. :)

So anyway first I have to start with the legendary Jikook V-Live… they high key just flirted through the whole thing, the minute Jungkook came running in with his unfinished lunch at his hands. After that they just stared deeply into each others eyes,  forgot the meaning of personal space and said things like…

Yeah they said things like that, I kid you not and also did you hear the sounds of me suffering jungkook?! Because thats what I was legit doing while bearing witness to this V Live! And his voice lowered a couple of noches when he said it and then the tension dropped harder than my sanity after that. Dear god Jungkook has no chill. Please go watch it if you have not, it’s art. Now to the next thing the back hugs. Jikook being the legendary back hug couple I just have to share with you a couple of those moments. Like this when…

…they where taking a group photo and Jungkook? Well he seemed to just straight up ignore that, deciding to focus on hugging Jimin instead. He even closed his eyes while doing it!! I repeat he closed his eyes!! It felt like I was intriguing on something since Jungkook looked so at peace like as if Jimin was his safe haven in the middle of all that noice and flashing lights…And yes I cried when I saw it, how could I have not. And now onto this…

….Back hug which happened somewhere after Namjoon and Jimin had their little wedding moment during a fanmeet. Not saying that there is a connection, but also not saying that there isn’t one. So as on cue let us move on to the legendary topic of Jeonlous. It being one of my greatest aesthetics I just have to include it in this. I mean Nochu has so many notp’s these days that, I firmly believe them to be the sole reason why he probably lives in the gym like his life depends on it. Like the wise satellite-jeon once said Nochu is out there lifting to win.

Here are some great examples of the struggles of Jeonlous…

Jungkook: *sees JoonMin standing close to each other* Gotta go and separate that shit. If I could have a dollar every time Jungkook went between these two I’d be swimming in money…aaand onto the next one.

Now this had me weak I mean Jungkook just straight up pushed J-Hope away from Jimin while trying to gain Jimins attention. He also did the same thing to Jin in one of the latest V live’s, when he tried to just look over Jimin shoulder and Jungkook was like nope. This boi is struggling to keep his chill.

I have so many many more Jeonlous moments like these but this will become way too long if I try to add them all in. But what I will have to add in is him doing that tongue thing he does when ever Jimin is concerned. Because he does it so often that it can’t be coincidental anymore. I mean once is accident, twice is coincidence but three times is pattern.

I have a whole folder full of him doing that, and if you ask why I have it…well its for science okay….*sweats nervously*. Let’s move onto the last and my most favourite moments…them trying their best to make each other laugh or smile. And I don’t think these moments even need an explanation on why they are so precious to me, because they pretty much explain themselves.

Now there are many more moments that I would like to talk about, but as i said before this will become way too long and also I need to go to sleep since it’s 04:46 am where I’m at. Meaning that this would start going downhill and fast from here if I continued and I want to keep this pg. level while my brain still allows it :D Hope that this very, very bad and messy answer in someways met your standards anon and thank you again for sending me that ask!

Btw since some of the gifs are from my save folder, because for the life of it Tumblr would not find me the ones I needed so please tell me if you know the names of the ones who made those gifs so I can credit them properly :)

Hi😘omg i loveyour blog so so much and i am so grateful that i found your bolg and your fics you can't even imagine. I was just reading every story in your mastelist and if you don't mind or when you have time can u make a fic where eleana is realy pregnant? Not where she lost another baby or where kaden bought clothes for orphan chids❤️❤️❤️pls and thank you

Since so many people have asked and I keep avoiding it, I guess I can give you a lil something.

Or a 2k word something. All in the name of fun.

Psst. For some more you can look at my masterlist here if you want.

Eleana watched as Drakon, the almighty and powerful, fluffed the cushions at her feet so she was more comfortable. She was laying on a couch, her long hair tangled around a myriad of pillows and her arms happily twisted in a white velvet blanket.

“Now how is that?” The bronze male asked. His eyebrows had knitted together and his hands were now steadily stationed on his hips. He ran an eye over her, evaluating whether he thought she had sufficient comfort or not.

“Perfect. Thank you.” Eleana offered him a sweet but tired smile.

He grinned at her, and pulled up a chair to sit at her head. Drakon was keeping her company while Kaden was off gallivanting with Miryam, and Eleana was thankful for it. Otherwise, she would be a nervous wreck. Her mate certainly was, no matter how hard he tried to disguise it, and Drakon and Miryam were not only very good distractions, but also wonderful hosts and people.

Eleana ran a hand down her bulging stomach. Only two weeks to go and she would finally be a mother. The pregnancy had been a hard one, she was sick every day and was often too weak to leave the house. Kaden was in ruins over her state, and constantly tried to siphon her pain to him through the bond. She kept reminding him that it’s not how the bond worked – you’d think he’d have it down after so long – but he insisted on trying anyway. She loved him for it, but also worried about how he might fare if… how he might fare if this pregnancy ended the way all their others had.

“There is something I need to tell you.” Drakon placed one hand on her forehead, and the other on her hands now settled on her belly.

“Yes?” Eleana rapidly became nervous, her mind thinking of the worst-case scenarios. It wasn’t Kaden, he was still sending messages of love through the bond every five bloody minutes, and it wasn’t Prythian. She had spies set up so she would know if anything major happened at her homeland while she was gone. So what made Drakon speak with such severity in his voice?

“Rhys and Feyre are coming.” Drakon said, and it was much worse than anything Eleana could’ve predicted.

Zach x Reader

Zach’s POV

“Get your approach Sarah!” Coach Matthews screamed. I heard that his wife divorced him so he’s not the happiest. Not to mention that volleyball championships is coming up so he needs the girls focused and ready.

“If we are going to take that City Championship trophy home we gotta focus. Half of you are not even paying attention.”

By him saying that, a bunch of girls snapped out of wherever they were thinking about.

“I don’t get why we have to sit here and watch them practice.” Justin sighed.

“Well that’s what happens when you stick every sport in sixth period and volleyball gets the gym first.” I stated. I didn’t mind that they had the gym though. Especially since Y/N was on the team. Something about her made me think different. She wasn’t your typical girl. She’s hilarious, every where she goes there’s always somebody standing right next to her laughing their ass off. While she chuckles beside them. She’s somebody who has caught my interest for a while now but I don’t have the balls to tell her anything. You would think I do…but you’re wrong.

“Y/N! Why don’t you show these ladies how it’s done.” Justin yelled. Making everybody turn in his direction.

Coach Matthews nodded. “Well it looks like your friend wants you to demonstrate what a proper approach and hit looks like. So why don’t you show them.”

A look of fear washed upon her face. As outgoing as she normally is, she hates when everybody has their attention on her.

“Uh.. s-sure yeah I guess.” She stuttered. She walked over to the other side of the court. We were sitting on the bleachers right next to her and she glared at Justin.

“Shove your dick in an ant hole.” She whispered. The whole basketball team started laughing. She was pissed now but she’ll get over it.

“Four, Four, Four!” She yelled. She jumped up and hit the ball extremely hard over the the other side of the net. We all cringed at the sound of the ball hitting her hand. As she landed back to the ground from jump her ass and ponytail bounces as if they were in unison.

“Good job Y/L/N. Since Y/N just made a great example. I’m pretty pleased now. I guess we can end practice here. You’re all dismissed.

Y/N was just about to walk out the gym doors when Justin interrupted. He knows I like her, that’s the only reason he’s being so talkative.

“You hit that ball super hard. Didn’t know you had it in you.” He chuckled elbowing my shoulder. I rolled my eyes and shook my head.

“Yeah normally I don’t hit that hard but this time I just imagined that the ball was your head.” She said with that big goofy smile wiped across her face. I laughed as Justin formed a fake pout.

“Ouch.” He said grabbing his heart.

“It’s all tough love Foley.” She said grabbing her volleyball bag.

“Bye Foley, Bye Dempsey.” She said turning around heading for the door.

“Y/N wait up!!” I said grabbing my backpack jogging to her. She turned around, stopping in her tracks and smiled at me.

“Yeah what’s up Dempsey?” She questioned releasing her hair from its high ponytail. Her hair cascaded down, passing her shoulders and she tucked a few strands behind her ear. The smallest things she did made her look like a goddess.

“I was wondering if maybe you wanted to go out sometime?” I smiled, rubbing the back of my neck with my sweaty palm.

She slowly raised and eyebrow, knocking down any confidence I had in the process.

“Only if you want to you know, i’d understand if you wouldn-” I was interrupted by her soft voice.

“I’d love to Dempsey. I kinda have to go right now but text m- actually..” A small smile crept up on her face.

“Facetime me and we can talk about it more.”

I smirked in response. “I’ll take you up on that offer.”
I stated cockily.

“Great!” She said, flustered. She made her way to the door. “Don’t keep me waiting Dempsey!” She shouted as she exited the gym doors.

I chuckled to myself. I couldn’t keep her waiting if I tried. A dim shade of red crept upon my face as I replayed the situation in my head.

“Is Dempsey blushing?” Justin hollered slapping my shoulders. He gained a couple stares in our direction. “Shut the hell up Foley.” I laughed grabbing my bag getting ready to go home. Y/N’s smile never leaving my mind.

“Gently,” she stressed.

Sitting on the sink-counter, she looked washed-out in the harsh fluorescent light of their bathroom, a little spatter of blood staining the shoulder of her light blue scrubs, her skin a wintery kind of pale and her freckles fading as though they’d been one of God’s afterthoughts. Her braid rested tattered and ripped down her spine, long red strands falling in front of the bruises on her cheek, and as he carded her hair back behind her ear, she flinched involuntarily, her shaky hands stilling on her lap, her breath hitching.

“It’s okay,” he whispered, the bag of ice in his hand hovering before her, his brain buzzing in the overtired way he used to feel accustomed to. If his circadian rhythms were reliable, then he and his body estimated that three in the morning, maybe half past, had come and gone. A long time ago, she’d told him that keeping lights on from the nighttime hours of ten-to-ten harmed the brain’s ability to produce melatonin, but he figured that light would be the least of their worries tonight.

Softly, she met his gaze, then looked back down at her lap.

“Sorry,” she said, wincing at the word. “I’m just…I’m still a little shaken up.”

He nodded, then gingerly brought the ice to her cheek, and though she recoiled at first, luckily she eased against his touch, let out a deep, exhausted breath.

“Is there any bleeding?” she asked, her voice muffled by the ice.

“None at all,” he said.

She swallowed, said, “The nurse there seemed like she was doing a great job of cleaning it.”

“And you’re absolutely sure you’re not concussed?” he asked as he leaned against the sink, the house around them so still and silent that it made the winter beyond them feel heavier and thicker than it already was.

Looking up at him, she delicately pressed her lips together, said, “Had the nurse check. No headache or dizziness. I’m fine, Mulder.”

“Okay,” he said, nodding to himself.

Though she avoided late shifts and preferred not to work on Saturdays, she’d been on a Saturday evening to Sunday morning emergency room shift, eight pm to eight pm, but a one am call let him know that a drunk patient, a punch to the face, and some police involvement meant that she would be coming home early. The last time he, in her words, went caveman left them both embarrassed and uncomfortable, but now, he wished he could’ve been there, could’ve watched over her and had her back so that some drunkard would’ve never decked her behind a modesty curtain, wouldn’t have had a chance to let her head thud against a sterile linoleum floor before punching her again. Though he wanted to think of this protectiveness as more than an ancient biological imperative, though he wished he didn’t find himself at fault for something so clearly irrelevant to his existence, he still brought Duane Barry and Phillip Padgett and all of the other men who had wronged her to mind, wondered once more if he could’ve done more. While at the Bureau, he could’ve argued that he was her partner, that it was of the utmost importance for them to watch each other’s backs, but now, he could hardly merit the wish.

And had he been there, he probably would’ve been decked too, only he would’ve cried about it instead of stoically driving home afterward like she did. Sometimes, he figured, the universe chose to punch the ones who could take it, not the ones who couldn’t.

“You’re never working a night shift again,” he said, hoping to elicit a laugh or at least a pained smile; thankfully, she reached toward him, wrapped her fingers in his open hand, kept her eyes down but let him know that she was present and receptive anyway.

“I sure hope not,” she said, “but if they ever want me to, I’m sure that citing this incident will make them change their minds.”

Softly, he laughed, and though he figured it would hurt her to smile, the purplish and red smears of bruises on her cheeks keeping her from moving her face too much, she still quirked her lip, the movement minute but visible.

“Did you have any Advil before you got home?” he asked.

“I had one before I left the hospital.”

“Do you think you’ll be able to sleep?”

She sucked her lips in again, met his gaze, so he nodded in understanding. He figured neither or them would be getting much sleep tonight.

“Well,” he said, his voice turning theatrical, “I can offer some warm milk-”

“No hot liquids,” she said quickly. “Have to keep the swelling down.”

“Okay,” he said, off-put. There went his ideas for chamomile tea and maybe a warm bath in order to calm her down. “Then, cold water.”

“Thrilling.”

He squeezed her hand.

“What are you looking for, then?” he asked. “My mind goes numb after midnight.”

Taking a deep breath, she said, “A movie, something mindless. Just until we feel we could fall asleep.”

So she shed her blood-smeared scrubs and opted for pajamas and thick socks; while she migrated to the couch, held the ice against her more bluish cheek, he rifled through their bookshelf, found Sleepless in Seattle and liked the irony it provided, so he popped the tape in, the lights off in their living room, the fish tank fluorescent and bubbling in the background, the winter winds shifting the shutters on their fixer-upper farmhouse. He sat on her less-bruised side, and as she spread a shared blanket over their laps, he fast-forwarded coming attractions of many years ago, her two hands wrapping around his free one. While the movie began, he tuned Meg Ryan out and kept his eyes on her instead, tried to survey her body for telltale signs of stress.

She’d told him long ago that she felt anxiety not in her mind but in her limbs, in her joints; while her thoughts told her to push forward, her body cringed and faded, her demise coming not from her will but from her physical breakdown, so he’d tried to be a constant for her, had kept track of her hours and made sure that, even when she seemed so determined to finish just one more stack of paperwork, she would go home for a good night’s rest instead. From those many times, he knew what to look for: raised shoulders, shaky hands, huffed breaths, glasses pushed up far more often than one would expect. However, tonight shifted that response because her breakdown had come from a patient, not from herself, so while she took shallow breaths during the movie, he traced his thumb against the back of her hand, let her lean into him with her face angled so that his shoulder and her bruises never quite made contact. As four am ticked past, he realized that he’d never watched this movie in full, but because he’d distracted himself during the first half of the film, he hadn’t a clue where the plot went.

“Scully?” he whispered, almost wincing at how his voice interrupted the special, rural silence around them.

When she didn’t shift, he craned his neck, and though he should’ve been able to tell through her long, languid breaths against his chest, he only noticed that she’d fallen asleep when he looked down and saw her closed eyes. Reaching for the remote, he turned the television off, and with deft, gentle motions, he managed to lift her up without waking her - after all, she could sleep anywhere, from passenger’s seats of cheap rental cars to bleach-ridden motel beds to his old leather couch back before he’d been able to offer her a bed instead - and carried her upstairs though his aging joints protested with each step.

Thankful that he’d left the bed unmade after she’d called, he managed to slip her beneath the overturned sheets on his side of the bed, tucked her in before he climbed in on the other still-made side. Out here, the nights were dark save for the endless lines of unobstructed stars in the sky, so he kept their bedroom’s blinds up, soft light falling over her bruising face, the rise and fall of her chest shifting the duvet while she slept. Her pillow smelled like that lavender shampoo she liked, and though the stuffing was too thick for him, he found that he could still relax into it, their respective alarm clocks off for now, her bedside book-stack dwindling as his seemed only to grow larger, her reading glasses askew and the closet door left open in a way that would’ve scared him as a child.

And he presented himself with two lonely options: either he could work out hundreds of different scenarios that left her unscathed and him some kind of half-assed hero, or he could watch her soft breaths until their cadence lulled him to sleep. For once, he picked the second option and drifted off before morning began to creep through the windows.

anonymous asked:

"That was a fucking B♭4 (read: a borderline note for even amateur opera tenors), just so you know." ... would you mind elaborating what you mean about this tomthis who don't understand in voice ranges/keys and stuff?!

Sure! But I got long-winded, sorry :P

So there are many, many, many types of voice categorizations, but we’ll start with the basics; the first one is male/female voice. I think that makes it obvious; male voices are “lower” while female are “higher”. Colin’s voice is, unsurprisingly, male (and yeah there are exceptions, we have a man in our university choir who can’t even reach the male voices’ notes, so he sings with the women, and a woman whose voice is so low that she sings with the men).

The second characterization is whether the voice is high or low, regardless of the gender. Low male voices are called basses, while high male voices are called tenors. Low female is alto, high female is soprano. Again, when it comes to pitch itself altos sing higher than tenors, so if we put them in order from lowest to highest absolute pitch it would be bass, tenor, alto, soprano. Colin’s voice, as I’d guessed from listening to him sing other songs and from how high his actual voice (not the one he uses for Hook) is, is a tenor.

In contrast, here is a show of Johnny Cash’s lowest notes:

There are more subcategories after that but these are the basic ones.

The basic difference is that male voices usually sing an octave lower than the females. You can sing the exact same melodies, only males will sing it “low” and females will sing it “high”.

Now about that B♭4… it’s called “B flat” and let’s say it’s a very high note for a tenor to reach, and almost impossible for a bass. Of course, if they’re professional opera/choir singers, this note is required by tenors, basses get a pass on the highs because they have to work on their lows ;)

This shows pretty much the required vocal range for male voices:

If you’ve never seen a piano keyboard before, that “Middle C” is almost right in the middle of it, and it’s a note almost all voices, male and female, can reach (in this video, the first note heard is a Middle C, while the rest are “C”s in either higher or lower octaves). For males, its high-ish, for females, it’s low-ish, but still in range. That red arrow shows the note Colin hit. As you can see, it’s in the faded area of the range, which means that some tenors are indeed tenors but can’t reach that high. And if you can, you have to know how to do it, use the right technique so to not tire or even ruin your voice.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of singers who can reach it but aren’t tought how to reach it so to not hurt their voices, so they end up losing them and having to retire from the stage.

Now, how high is that for a male? Let’s listen to the Queen of the Night.

No, he didn’t reach that high. But let’s just listen to the third long note Diana Damrau sings right in this moment: (2:38 if the copy/paste doesn’t work right)

Don’t try to sing that note (unless you are a professional singer and have had specified training, of course), but yes, that’s the respective high Colin reached with his voice, one octave lower but still high for a male.

Now I’m not comparing Colin’s singing to Damrau’s singing, because, duh. I’m sure Colin’s voice went into editing when mixing the song while Damrau sings live without any microphone, just her voice like that. I just wanted a good example to show how high that note actually is for a female, and respectively for a male. It’s not impossible, per say, for a soprano or a tenor to do that, but it’s hard and tricky and even risky sometimes. And it’s not that it happens once - Colin sings three high notes in his song. Every chorus raises a little in pitch, so the first time he sings G#, then A and then B♭ (every third “Revenge”). Those notes are very close to each other, so think that they are some high notes ;)

As I said, it’s not that he’s the only one who does it. Most rock/pop male singers are tenors, you rarely find a popular song of a man singing low. When women sing along to their voices, they usually don’t reach that high - they just sing an octave lower and said B♭ is a piece of cake for us. But still I’m impressed that he managed it and that he made it sound good, not too strained and not too squeaky.

That question got the music nerd out of me and I used my university knowledge for the first time in this blog, heh. If that wasn’t clear enough, don’t hesitate to ask me to elaborate! Maybe I’ll make a video where I’ll show some of Colin’s high notes in the song ;)

Hi. Question that I bet you've already received and answered re: your post about being attracted to women but being unable to visualise a relationship with one? For you, if you don't mind sharing, what was it that brought you to pursue a relationship with a woman in the first place? Personally I'm in a place where I think there's a potential for a relationship, but I don't know if I want it partly *because* she's a woman? Anyway, thanks for sharing your original post. That was meaningful to me.

I’m in a position where she likes me and I’m quite attracted to her but the idea of a relationship with a woman is strange and foreign in the same way that you expressed in that original post. Anyway, it’s not like you’re Ask Annie or anythin like that. Just curious what got you from “I’m attracted to women” to “I’m married to a woman.”

hey anon, sorry for the delay — i’m pretty bad about answering asks in the simplest of cases, and this was one i wanted to knock around in my head for a bit.

i realized i liked girls when i got a crush on one in high school, completely unexpectedly. but she lived far away and thought she was straight and so while i accepted this new thing about myself it was easy to think that i’d never really have to confront it again. when i graduated my favorite teacher, to whom i’d come out as bi, said something about hoping to come to my “wedding or commitment ceremony” one day, and i remember scoffing. looking back on that moment is strange. there i was, lucky enough to have a lesbian mentor actively envisioning this future for me when no one else was going to, yet even she didn’t go so far as to imagine that i’d have the right to marry a woman, and the alternative she suggested seemed absurd to me, like something belonging to a different world from the one i knew.

going to college helped. my best friend from high school, who is gay, went to the same college and i got to watch him date in a way he hadn’t been able to before. it was a small school and by chance, he ended up in a dorm where it seemed like no one was straight, and that’s where i met her. i didn’t expect my feelings, but neither could i ignore them.

it’s a cliché, but if you’d asked me then, did i love women?, i don’t know what i would have said. but i would have been able to say that i liked her, and soon, that i loved her.

now, of course, i know that i do love women, and that that thinking was a form of denial. but in a way i think this denial had a kind of usefulness, in breaking down one of the big questions of life into one small enough for me to handle. it’s hard to grapple with whether you want Relationships With Women. it’s a lot easier to think about whether you’d like to try a relationship with this woman. the rest can wait.

i want to let you know that you have my permission to think that way, if it helps. it might not seem like the most ideologically correct thing, but as i’ve said before in this space, your job isn’t to have ideologically correct feelings, your job is to be ok. if you’re attracted to her, then questions about women in general, or the concept of womanhood, or whatever, are just kind of beside the point, at least for now. focus on what you feel about this person, specifically, and trust yourself to figure the rest out in due time, knowing that there’s no rush.

also, i have no idea what your situation is, but as always i think it’s a good idea to spend as much time around other lgbt people as possible if you’re not already, though i know that’s often easier said than done. a meetup, a hobby or volunteer group, a sports team, a band, a chorus — these things have made a world of difference to me in terms of making me feel that not being straight is normal and good, and that being true to myself is fully compatible with a rich and happy life.

my experience, of course, is just one experience, and so if others reading this would like to share your experiences around this, i encourage that. in any case, i hope this answer is helpful, anon, and that it finds you well.

Really, I just wanna know how any of the Raúl characters (particularly Barba) feel about the fact that the fandom or their s/o has an infatuation with his tummy 😶 If you don't mind, that is... *sends love anyway because baby you're worth it 💃🏻💃🏼💃🏽💃🏾💃🏿*

pahahahahahahahaha ok ok ok ok. I know you said Barba but I totally thought of the awkward duckling Frederick so I’m doing both.

Frederick knew he shouldn’t read reviews.

But, his most recent book had finally released to the public, and fortunately it appeared to be doing rather well. In fact, he had been invited for interviews, made it on the television. He wouldn’t quite consider himself ‘famous’ (he wouldn’t correct someone for suggesting so, of course), but he had indeed managed to find himself with a bit of a following- mostly young adults with a fascination that brought them to devouring anything and everything they could in regard to the criminally insane and serial killers…

And, well, while that may not be exactly the crowd he had intended on drawing in: it would do.

He had heard horror stories about Googling oneself. Who knew what you would find, especially if there was a reason for strangers on the internet to use your name?

What would happen, he wondered curiously one evening when the surveillance cameras of his hospital didn’t quite quench his nosinesscuriosity, if he simply…

“Dr. Frederick Chilton.” Send.
About 2,000 results (0.60 seconds)

Well isn’t that just fascinating?

Most of it was nothing new. A few opinions he had already seen, a video or two of his more recent interviews, some picture the press had gotten a hold of- he clicked over to “Images”, hoping he’d only find himself well-pressed and even better dressed.

The first row or two didn’t disappoint… but then, he stumbled upon a candid picture, or so it appeared. It was from a news station, shortly after he stood up and just before he re-fastened the button of his suit jacket; how embarassing, why would someone capture him without the blazer there to cover that boring dress shirt?

He couldn’t help from noticing, though; there were comments.
While pondering what ‘Tumblr’ could mean, Frederick went to the page containing the unflattering photograph, took a large drink of bourbon for courage: and opened up the hundred-or-so 'notes’.

“I’m obsessed with the tum-”

Tum? What are they talking about?

“Awe! LOVE THE TUM HE’S SO CUTE!”

… cute? Frederick wouldn’t quite have used that phrase to describe himself; dapper, handsome, suave maybe but cute? Whatever, though…

“LONG LIVE THE TUMMY OMG.”

Oh my god, he nearly choked on his drink- they were talking about his stomach? With wide eyes, he glanced downward, regarded his belly a bit more than he had in probably months. They said he had a tum? A cute tum, at least they were complimentary when discussing it…

“I looooooooove when he takes off his jacket-”

Why the Hell did he even waste money on nice suits? Apparently these Tumblr-folks would be much more interested in just seeing his stomach, his 'tum’ or whatever…

“The tum is so important! Daddy!”

……. Daddy….?

Very carefully, Frederick closed the laptop screen, brows knitting together. He was an acclaimed author, a doctor, a professional… yet, he was Tumblr-famous for his ’important tum’. Was this good or bad, he couldn’t quite decide.

Resolving never to bother Googling himself again, Frederick rose to his feet, tried his absolute best NOT to waste time studying his stomach any further- apparently there were already plenty of people who kept a close eye on it.

How odd.

He thought he had seen everything; but this?
A tum-obsession? HIS tum being obsessed over…?

People are strange. So, so strange…

“Oh my God.”

Rafael Barba didn’t really find a reason to care that Carisi and Amanda were giggling at their cell phone. They usually found most anything amusing, especially kind-hearted Sonny, so who knew what they could have stumbled upon.

“I can’t believe someone actually made a blog about it-”

Why were they talking so LOUDLY, though? He was trying to concentrate, focus, actually get work done. Coming to the precinct may have been a mistake.

“These are pictures from his press conference on Wednesday…”

… Hold on…

He had held a press conference on Wednesday.

Twisting in his seat, Rafael finally gifted the detectives the attention they were apparently trying to pry from him. “What on Earth are you two looking at?”

Proudly, Sonny snatched the phone, then turned it around so Barba could appropriately see the collection of photos. He squint, making quick work of scanning the little set. They were pictures of, well, him. “Who took those?”

“Your fans,” Amanda teased, and leaned over Sonny’s arm so she could scroll for him. “Look- they even leave comments.”

“You’re a hot commodity, Counselor!” Carisi only laughed when Rafael pried the phone from his fingers, then shoved his own hands in his pocket so he could carefully watch the ADA’s face. “Apparently you’re popular among the kids.”

Well, that would have been flattering, but the comments didn’t quite appear to be of the normal variety- a couple compliments about his suspenders (well, that’s nice of them) and a few side-notes about how great his hair looked (thank God he went to the barber just the day before)… but some were, well… a bit more interesting, to say the least.

Absently, his hand fell to his stomach, and at the sight of his slack-jaw and his brows nearly bouncing off his forehead- Rollins began to roar with laughter.

“HE FOUND IT!” She squealed, after hiding her face in the shoulder of Sonny’s suit.

Oh, but Rafael ignored her, much more distracted by the fact that these people were talking about… his ’tum’? He could only assume, due to the mentioned 'bottom right’ photograph where he was just about to button up his blazer, that they were indeed discussing his stomach.

And they were definitely not being shy about it.

“OH MY GOD I LOVE THE TUM!”

They couldn’t be serious…

“I hope he never loses the tum, it is so cute.”

Okay, maybe they were being serious…

“I’m OBSESSED WITH THE TUM. Court is in session and my body is ready, we can meet in my chambers.”

The color drained from his face… really...?

Barba couldn’t decide if he was mortified or just surprised. Not only was he not quite prepared to consider that he had… fans? But now, he had to consider… these people discussing his photographs were interested in his stomach. Honestly, he didn’t think it was that noticeable… had he gained weight, or was that maybe just a particularly unflattering dress shirt? Were his pants too tight?

“ADA 'THE BOOTY’ BARBA!”

Okay, maybe the pants weren’t the problem.

“What the Hell is Tumblr?” He asked from behind curled fingers, which were being used to try and hide the bewildered look on his face, as well as his blush. “How did you two even find that?”

“Are we not going to talk about the fact you’re famous for your tum?” Amanda was still trying to recover, giggles interrupted every few words.

Carisi elbowed her, pointed out a later comment he noticed after he was given his phone back “Lookat this one- PAPI PROSECUTOR.”

THAT was enough; Rafael slammed his palms on the top of the desk, pulling their attention off the little screen long enough to watch him recklessly shove paperwork and his book into the familiar briefcase. “I’m getting out of here, you two are ridiculous, I can’t get any work done-”

“Don’t forget your jacket, Barba-” Sonny bit the inside of his cheek, yet still couldn’t resist a final jab, “Or you may distract a blogger with your tum.”

Hello! I was wondering if you could write a scenario where MC has no control over the world she's in and it gets restarted on them over and over on them. And MC gets the feeling they have to save V and expose Rika earlier on in the "game"? Like they get fed up with no one listening to realising so she flat out tells V she knows about Rika, and then he has to do something about Saeran? Maybe some Angst? How would that play out? I don't know if this makes sense, sorry.

I think I understand, I hope you don’t mind where I went with this. I’ve always liked the idea of MC being the one trapped in the world, and not being able to control restarts, I’m not sure why.

You were over it. You’ve been through everyone’s routes, all the good and the bad that came with them. You watched yourself tear the ones you loved apart again and again, you failed miserably at saving them, and when you finally ended on a good note; it restarted.

Your life restarted again, you suddenly found yourself with your phone in your hand and ‘Unknown’, who you knew was really Saeran Choi, questioning you.

At first you feared breaking reality, you were afraid you’d say something wrong and time would reset, or reality would fall apart in front of your eyes. But after realising no matter what you did, time would reset after the 12th day, you stopped caring about how reality was going to handle you.

Your first attempt at changing your fate was with Unknown. When he messaged you, you wrote a long and hard explanation on how you knew he was Saeran, on what Rika had done, and how Saeyoung didn’t intentionally abandon you. He kept denying it and begged you to go to the apartment, and then you decided to help Saeyoung find his brother and rescue him from mint eye. But, even after Saeran was safe in the bunker, and you took the picture with the RFA, time reset and you started again.

You tried so many different things to just get out of this hell. You went to mint eye before you even stepped foot in the apartment, you exposed Saeran and Saeyoung on the first day of meeting the RFA, you even triggered the bomb to go off.

But it didn’t matter, time reset, you lived, and they forgot.

You were running out of options, but you still had one thing to try. You were going to wait until V entered the Chatroom to talk to him. Of course, you couldn’t do it on the first day, they’d probably kick you out straight away. You waited a few days until he came back to announce the date.

It didn’t matter whose route you were on, you were nice to everyone, you were just focused on seeing a Chatroom open with V’s name under it. You didn’t have a very solid plan; you were probably just going to say it outright.

Finally, V’s name appeared in group chat, next to Saeyoungs and Jumin’s. You took that as a good sign, seeing as normally there is only one other person in the Chatroom with V. You took a deep breath before entering and started the beginning of the end.

V: MC, I’m glad to see you’re here.

V: How are you?

MC: I’m good, but I have something to discuss with you. I’m afraid it won’t be very pleasant.

V: Is there a problem, MC?

707: MC MC!!!

707: What’s Wrong!!!

707: problems with in the RFA???

MC: I’d appreciate it if none of you would talk until I’m finished, I’m afraid getting my point across will confused you.

V: Please feel free to tell us whatever is bothering you, MC.

707: We’ll fix it! Meow!!

Jumin: Do not meow as if you are a cat.

MC: I know about Mint Eye, and Rika, and Saeran

Sure, that seemed like a good place to start.

MC: I know Rika’s alive, I know what Rika did to Saeran and I know she’s mentally unstable. V, I know everything that has happened between the two of you.

V: MC…

MC: Please let me finish it will be much less painful.

MC: I know Saeran’s brother was taken into an agency to learn hacking so he could save his brother. I know Rika tortured Saeran into thinking he was betrayed.

MC: I know what she did to you, I know your vision is impaired and you’re going blind.

Jumin: MC I think you should stop talking about think you don’t understand.

MC: I do understand! I know you can’t believe what you’re reading, I know what I’m saying sounds insane, but I am not lying.

MC: V, I know about the Mint Eye blueprints in the drawer behind me. Trust me, I know you love Rika and you want to protect her.

MC: But if you don’t go there now and help Saeran, if you don’t stop what she’s doing, people will die!

MC: I am begging you, stop her, get her the help she needs before she ruins anyone else’s life.

V: That’s enough, MC.

707: How do you know that name? Saeran? What does she mean Rika tortures him, V?

V: How could you possibly know all that MC?

V: Who told you all of that?

V: Was it Unknown?

MC: Haha….

MC: you wouldn’t believe me even I told you.

MC: Unknown is Saeran Choi, by the way.

V: MC, clearly this Unknown person has fed you lies, im sorry, but Rika is dead, and I don’t know who Saeran Choi is.

You dropped your phone as you felt any hope you had left leave your body. You knew he was lying out of love for Rika, but your life was falling apart, like it had been for the past several months, and you couldn’t bring yourself to feel sorry for him.

Drastic times call for drastic measures.

MC: I can’t force you to believe me.

MC: But I’m going to Mint Eye.

MC: I’m sorry, Saeyoung, V, Jumin, I’m so sorry for everything.

MC Has left the Chatroom

You took a deep breath before leaving the apartment, you stopped in the hallway and looked up at the camera. You knew Saeyoung would be watching, you gave him a sad smile before leaving.

You didn’t drive, instead you took two trains and a few buses, it was a pretty long way away, but you wanted to stay updated on the group chats incase something happened.

Yoosung and Saeyoung believed you, Yoosung believed you because he didn’t trust V. Saeyoung knew you weren’t lying, even if he didn’t know how you knew. You weren’t surprised when you arrived within the area of the Mint Eye base, and you saw V.

“You were right” he told you, you blinked at him several times, making sure you heard him right. “Please let me talk to her, maybe I can get her to stop”

You agreed, waiting patiently and quietly outfront. You didn’t know how it would play out, but you prayed something else would happen.

15 minutes passed.

30 minutes.

An hour

An hour and a half.

You thought back to the time you and Saeyoung broke in, and followed in his footsteps, asking him to shut down the security beforehand. You made your way in, and tried hard to search for Rika and V.

You felt like crying out of frustration when you saw a familiar scene. Saeran had a gun to V, and Rika was looking down on him and threatening him. V Looked desperate, and you felt your heart break again.

You saw the look in Saerans eye, one you’d seen before, and you made your move. If V died, time would repeat, but maybe, just maybe, if you saved him, would it change?

You had to try.

You ran forward and jumped in front of V at the very last second. The bullet hit you instead of V, and you slammed into the ground with a searing pain in your side.

MC!” You heard V yell.

MC?!” Saerans voice asked. Your vision started to blur as you looked up at V, who looked frantic and out of sorts.

Help them, save Saeran” you told him, before looking past him and up at the sky “please make it stop”

You weren’t asking anyone, you just wanted it to stop. You couldn’t handle it all, and it was weighing on you. You hoped now it would end and everything would work out, even if you didn’t want to die, you couldn’t repeat this life over and over.

Your eyes closed and you saw nothing.

Your eyes opened and you saw a screen with a stranger asking for help.

From the VTR:

Yokoyama Yui’s excerpt from something she said to Kojima on her seitansai last year;
“By the makeup-artists and the staff, we would always get told, “whenever you borrow and then give back something where there’s written “Kojiharu” on it, be sure to properly express gratitude to her”. Now, as a person, that’s just good manners, it’s obvious we’d do that, but I also realized that it is something maybe we don’t really always get the chance to do. But then,  by following those instructions for the past 10 years, and by seeing you doing just the same, I realized what an amazing person you also are not only on the outside, by showing off this cool attitude and beautiful looks, but also on the inside.”

Coming Home

Set after 6x14 – Killian returns and Emma finds him sitting on the steps of the front porch, in front of their house.
Word Count: 824
Read it on ao3 here ~ Read my other fics here

Emma could feel her fingers going numb even though she had her gloves on. She didn’t mind – the cold nipping at her made her feel better than she had in the last two days. She hadn’t even driven the bug to the loft, which didn’t help her case. Every time she thought of the loft, she would picture the pitying glances she got from her parents, Regina, and Henry. Instead of it giving her consolation, she felt white, hot anger every time she thought of that. She chose to think about that instead of him. Instead of how it had felt to come back to an empty house – to know he had left; to know he had abandoned her. Which was why, as she hurried towards the house, she stopped short in complete shock. Relief spread through her as she saw him sitting on the porch. He looked up at her and she could see how unsure he was about her reaction.

“Killian,” she barely whispered, not moving. It was as if he was an illusion that would shatter the second she moved towards him.

“Emma,” he responded, standing up, trying to hide the crushing guilt that he felt when she didn’t walk towards him. It was one of those rare times where he wasn’t able to read her emotions behind her expression of shock. He couldn’t tell if she was happy to see him or not. There was a deafening silence before he said, “I’m sorry.”

7 Thoughts On Singleness: Is Something Wrong With Me?

Anonymous asked:

I’m 27 years old and I’ve never had a boyfriend. I’ve only dated once but that didn’t go so well. I’ve prayed and I’ve prayed and I’ve asked God for my significant other but honestly sometimes I feel as if God doesn’t hear me. Which then causes my heart turmoil especially when I see other girls getting married and dating all the time. It just makes me feel like there is something wrong with me or I maybe I’m unworthy of someone else. I just really need some peace in this area or my life.

Hey dear sister, I know this is an especially painful season for you right now, but please allow me the grace to share a few thoughts with you.

1) Singleness is not a season of waiting.

I’ve said this before, but: You’re not waiting for a man.  A man is not the focal point of anything.  Jesus is the focal point of everything.

A Western culture indoctrinated in romanticism would lead us to believe that “singles” are simply biding their time, waiting for some significant other to save us from the throes of loneliness.  And I know that the latest pop song or chick flick or young adult novel has awakened some weird feelings in you, and it would even be nice to have someone.

But relationships are hard work, celibacy is hard work, and life is hard work.  There’s really no such thing as waiting for a spouse: your life has launched into being, and there’s work to do.  If God is your priority, then a man who comes along who can even catch up to you would be dang lucky to have you.

2) Singleness doesn’t define your value, ever.

What exactly is “singleness”?  I wish we would stop defining things by the absence of something else.  Being single doesn’t mean you’re somehow “incomplete” until someone else completes you.  Let’s pause to consider that even the idea of singleness is false at its best, and oppression at its worst.

In the first century, Apostle Paul wrote 1 Corinthians 7 specifically to address single people.  To paraphrase, he said, “If you want to get married, good.  If you want to stay single, good, and it could be better.” To you, this might sound ordinary.  But at the time, it was a loaded bombshell. This was actually an entirely revolutionary view of sexuality that had been previously unheard of.

During Paul’s life, the Emperor of the Roman Empire was actually charging a fee for the unmarried because it was considered bad for the economy and the family (never mind that Caesar was already bad for both).  Being married with a family was considered the gold status of society, and a single person could only have been a widow or prostitute; there was no middle ground.

So Paul comes along, and moved by the Spirit of God, completely wrecked the whole idea of family and marriage and singles.  He legitimized singleness as an absolutely acceptable life-choice, but more than that, said it can often be better for carrying out God’s mission on earth (1 Cor. 7:29-35).  Paul himself was single, which itself would’ve been quite a scandal.

3) Please don’t allow singleness to rush you into being not-single.

Take as long as it takes.  In the same passage (1 Cor. 7), Paul is urging us to not rush into relationships.  Not only is rushing this unwise because we could shortcut God’s growth in our lives, but we could end up getting into a string of bad relationships or making other poor judgment calls when we’re clouded by the impatience to be with someone. Again, relationships are hard work.  Pursuing anything goes beyond our idealistic hologram picture into a gritty, sweaty, pulsing reality that requires our everything.

God might or might not send someone to you tomorrow: but so long as you’re pursuing God, you might hardly notice.  That’s a good thing.  Find Christ, you find yourself, and maybe you’ll find someone else.

4) Your season of un-attached life, or the “gift of singleness,” is a unique season like no other.

There is a very particular way that God works through us when we’re not married or attached somehow, and it’s downright impossible for God to do those things any other way.  I’m not trying to diminish one status or the other, but there are pros and cons to both which cannot overlap.  I’m about to be married soon, but my married friend tells me the other day, “Use your remaining time wisely.  Have a lot of solitude.  Take long drives.  Read as much as you can.  Once you’re married, that’s it.  It’s good, but so is your time right now.”

5) It might simply be that others are intimidated by you.

It could just be that your godliness is thinning out the dating pool. That’s a good thing, too.

When I was single and I went after the lady who is my fiance now, I have to tell you that I was totally intimidated by her.  She was godly, she was a strong career woman, and she didn’t flirt back easily.  Compared to her, I was a scrub, and I knew I couldn’t really pursue her unless I got it together.  It could be very possible that other men see you as super-awesome, and as with most men, we’re just trying to get confident enough to make a move.

6) It’s okay for ladies to give a hint.

Do you see a dude you like? Ask him out for coffee.
Do you really, really want to meet someone?
It’s okay to be in situations where you meet people.
Are you kind of shy or new to the whole thing?
It’s okay to ask a friend for help. It’s okay to pray together.

7) Before relational intimacy with others, we first need relational intimacy with God.

My friend, again: I know this is a very tough time.  Anything I’ve stated here is not a magic formula or silver bullet that will suddenly wash away the nights alone.  I don’t mean to minimize anything you’re feeling, because I do believe most of us are called to be married, and singleness can be a tough time.

So I want to encourage you to continue to seek after God and trust Him.  That’s probably the predicable pastor-ish thing to say, yet no one can give you the validation, affirmation, and approval that God gives you.  If we squeeze that from a spouse, we will crush them and crush ourselves. Before we can rightly estimate people in our lives, we must first hold an accurate picture of God and who He is, so that our foundation would be deepened to the very bottom of our roots.

But more than simply seeing God as a vehicle to fill us, He is also the center of all things, the one who in Himself is worthy of all our affection.  He is the pure beauty we’ve been seeking in all our relational ties; He is the only love who knows us exactly as we are, the very depth of our ugliness, yet He continues to pursue us and press in.  I know that you know this.  Sometimes it feels like a pithy consolation prize, like “Yes I know God is God, but I want a date.“  I just know that the more I press into Jesus, the more I understand that he became ugly so we might become beautiful, he was single his whole life and calls us his bride, he stayed on a cross to absorb all the ways we have failed: such a costly love puts all others in their place.  My situation might hurt me or maim me, and life is never easy, but we have one who stands with us always, who gives me a value and dignity apart from whatever I’m going through or have done, and in this, I am never truly alone.  Each day, even with my tiny frail faith, this is enough. Trust Him, bask in Him, know His glory. You are absolutely loved by Him, as if you were the only one that ever was.

“You are significant without a significant other.”

breaking rules (harvey/mike) - for goddamnmikeross

Harvey’s first inkling wasn’t even really an inkling. It was more of a tilted head and a “Huh?” as he approached Jessica’s office to see Mike already in there. Jessica was at one end of the couch, Mike at the other, and they were smiling as they chatted. Harvey couldn’t see any files or paperwork, so he wasn’t sure what they were talking about. And if he didn’t know better he’d think it wasn’t work related.

But Harvey did know better, because what could Jessica and Mike possibly have to say to each other that wasn’t work related? So he walked into the office without a second thought.

They were laughing, and Mike looked over his shoulder at Harvey’s entrance, still smiling. He looked back to Jessica and said, “I’ll leave you to it.” He then stood and walked out of the room without another word, as though the whole thing was totally normal.

*

Harvey and Mike were discussing trial strategy. Heatedly. Okay, let’s call a spade a spade: they were arguing, voices raised as they each tried to convince the other that they were right.

That was the thing about people as smart as Harvey and Mike: they always thought they were right, and were stubborn as hell about it.

Mike ran out of steam first. His face fell as he said, “Why don’t you trust me?”

That wasn’t it. Not at all. Harvey trusted Mike more than anyone in the world. But Mike’s idea, smart as it was, was extremely risky. And when Harvey Specter was calling an idea too risky, then you knew it was bad.

“Mike, you know that isn’t it. I trust you, beyond all others, and I admire your passion. But this could backfire on us so quickly and if he-”

“What’s going on in here?” Jessica demanded. They turned to find her walking into Harvey’s office. “I’ve had three separate calls about you two causing a scene.”

Harvey rolled his eyes. “I hardly think discussing trial prep is causing a scene.”

“With you two, anything is possible.”

For some reason that made Mike smile. And then he said, “It’s fine, Jessica. Harvey was just convincing me of the merits of his plan. That’s what we’re going with. It’s all good.”

“If you’re sure,” Jessica said, and her voice was impossibly soft, as though she was genuinely concerned that Harvey had been bullying Mike about it. Which made no sense, because not only would Harvey never do that (and Jessica knew it), but why was Jessica suddenly so concerned about Mike’s emotional well being?

Mike nodded. Jessica smiled at him before she turned to Harvey and said, “Be nice.”

Harvey could only gape at Jessica’s retreating back.

*

Harvey started to get suspicious when he saw Mike and Jessica outside of work together one morning.

He had an early meeting, and ordinarily would’ve gone straight to his client’s office, but he’d forgotten some paperwork on his desk so had to come into work first to collect it. As he was leaving the building he noticed Jessica’s car pulling up to the curb down the street. A minute later, as he stood by the side of the road, idling looking around while he waited for Ray, he looked back and saw not only Jessica but Mike enter the building. Together.

They looked chummy, both holding cups of coffee in their hands while they walked and talked. Whether they just happened to meet up in front of the building or they arrived together, Harvey couldn’t say. But what he did know was that something was going on. And he didn’t like it.

Can you write a bughead oneshot where they don't talk about the first kiss and dance around it for a while. Suddenly their schools Shakespeare company is doing a production of Romeo and Juliet (ironically) but the thing is Juggie doesn't get the role of Romeo (like Reggie or Archie does) and he interrupts the show midway through by reading the dialogue at the first meeting scene. Sorry it's super specific but I love your oneshots

This one was really fun to write, hope you enjoy it!

“I need everyone to quiet down!”

The theatre director stood backstage in the middle of chaos - costume pieces flying every which way, scripts fluttering across the hardwood floor, actors and actresses practicing their lines in their not-so-inside voices.

“Reggie, stop putting the props in Chuck’s ear, what did I say after the last time?” She hurried over to the boys standing by the props table, her long hair whipping over her shoulder as she frantically ripped the tiny object out of Reggie’s hand.

“I can’t believe we’re being forced to perform such an archaic piece of literary garbage. It’s so outdated,” Veronica whined, tossing her script onto a folding chair by the side of the stage. “I mean what teenager nowadays would climb up to someone’s window as a way of declaring one’s affections for them?”

Betty’s eyes went wide as she glanced at Jughead, her heart beating rapidly in her chest.

“No one,” Betty said almost too quickly, fiddling with a fraying piece of fabric on her costume and avoiding Veronica’s gaze.

“Exactly, B, glad to see you’re on my side on this one,” Veronica beamed at Betty before pulling on the arm of her dress and frowning. “Although, the fact that you’re our Juliet isn’t really helping the cause.”

Jughead gently pulled Betty away from Veronica, leaning in close to her ear so no one else could hear them.

“Bets, are we ever going to talk about it?” Jughead whispered. “It’s been weeks.”

“Talk about what?” Betty feigned confusion as she turned away from him to busily flip through her script.

“You know what,” Jughead muttered, lowering his gaze to give her a knowing look.

“Alright, that’s enough!” The director’s voice rose above the chatter, signaling to to the group that it was time to meet with her in the center of the stage. “Gather around everyone, we don’t have a lot of time!”

“You said to pretend like nothing happened,” Betty reminded Jughead, looking back at him struggling to keep of with her as she hurried to join the rest of the group. “So that’s exactly what I’m doing.”

“I didn’t mean-”

“Jughead, honestly, the faster you’re done wasting my time, the faster I can be done wasting yours,” the director sighed, turning to the students staring at her with bored expressions and taking an annoyed breath. “As you all know, our first performance of Romeo and Juliet is tomorrow. You all have put a lot of work into this and I expect that you will treat the performance with as much respect as it deserves. In other words, if you make a mockery of this program, I will see you in detention for an entire month - I’m looking at you Reggie. Okay, let’s get this over with!”

“Betty, I didn’t mean for us to skirt around each other like we were never even friends,” Jughead explained, taking her by the elbow and spinning her around slightly to meet his gaze. “I miss talking to you.”

“I miss you too, Juggie,” Betty admitted, her lips twitching into a faint smile as she allowed herself get lost in his eyes for a moment.

“Juliet, wherefore art thou Romeo? I know that’s not what that really means, but- oh never mind,” the director stammered, but stopped abruptly when she realized a dozen eyes were staring at her like she was crazy. “Seriously, Betty, where is he?”

“I’m here, Ms. Machin!”

As if on cue, Archie Andrews burst through the stage door to join the rest of his classmates on the stage.

“Sorry, I had music rehearsal with the pussycats and-” Archie struggled to catch his breath as he quickly tried to explain himself, but was cut off by an aggravated Ms. Machin shoving his costume in his face.

“Oh, I’m so glad you’ve put so much time and effort into other activities, Archie, but we have a performance tomorrow,” Ms. Machin reminded him. “So can we please run through this play before I start ripping my hair out of my head?”

“Yikes,” Veronica winced. “Sounds like someone needs a good long bath and a bottle of merlot after this horrid play is over and done with. And I don’t just mean me.”

“So are we okay?” Jughead asked, turning to Betty as she watched the group disperse in front of her. “You and me?”

“That depends,” Betty shrugged. “What did the kiss mean?”

“Bets, why do we have to decide that right now, I don’t-”

Rolling her eyes, Betty turned away from Jughead, already tired of hearing this answer, and made her way across the stage to look up at Archie putting one arm through the jacket that accompanied his costume.

“Arch, can we go over the blocking for our last scene together one more time?” Betty asked. “I just want to be sure I have it down perfectly.”

“Yeah, let’s do it,” Archie agreed, tugging on the hem of his jacket and smiling down at her as they headed off to a quieter location to practice.

“Okay, what is going on with you two?” Veronica emerged from somewhere behind Jughead, gesturing towards Betty with a raised eyebrow. “You’ve been dodging each other for weeks. Seriously I watched Betty dive into the girl’s bathroom just to avoid running into you last week. Something happened between you two didn’t it?”

“I don’t know,” Jughead muttered, rubbing the back of his neck uncomfortably and staring at a spot in the hardwood floor. “Maybe.”

“Oh my god, I knew it!” Veronica exclaimed, her face brightening at the thought of an unexpected romance. “But wait, then what’s the problem?”

“A few weeks ago, we kind of had…” Jughead fidgeted in his spot, lowering his voice so he couldn’t be heard by any unsuspecting ears. “A moment.”

“Meaning?”

“We kissed,” Jughead admitted. “And afterwards I kind of… freaked out.”

“Like you ran screaming in the other direction like a five-year-old afraid of those people in the creepy character costumes at an amusement park?” Veronica asked, her brows drawing together as she tried to comprehend what he was saying.

“No,” Jughead sighed. “I just - I panicked and didn’t think she wanted it to happen. I mean, it was kind of out of the blue. But then again, it really wasn’t. Anyway, I told her just to pretend like it didn’t happen and now…”

“Now she’s treating you like you’re a piece of gum on the bottom of her shoe,” Veronica finished for him, nodding as if she understood exactly what he was talking about. “I mean you try to ignore it, but it keeps making itself known every time you walk and it sticks to the floor.”

“Kinda harsh,” Jughead scoffed. “But essentially - yes.”

“Well lucky for you, Ronnie knows how to fix even the direst dating woe,” Veronica assured him, her lips curling into a devilish smirk. “And believe it or not, this situation is not that dire. Here’s what you need to do - you need to show her that you really do want to be with her. Make some grand gesture, do whatever it takes to get her to believe you.”

“Well, how do I do that?”

“That part’s up to you my friend,” Veronica told him, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder as she turned to Archie and Betty at the other end of the stage. “But if I were you, I’d do it soon. Her Romeo is literally her dream Romeo, so I’d act fast.”

With that, Veronica crossed the stage to talk to a few of the girls in charge of the set decoration, leaving Jughead to watch as Betty laughed at something Archie was saying from across the stage.

“But he’s not,” Jughead muttered to himself, thinking back to the day he crawled into her room and kissed her like it was the most natural thing in the world.

“Okay, let’s run through the balcony scene before we do a complete run-through!” Ms. Machin directed the group, gesturing for everyone to get into places with frantic hands. “Let’s go, people, the clock is ticking!”

“Okay, Juggie, it’s now or never,” Jughead whispered under his breath. “You might not be her Romeo in the play, but you were her Romeo when you climbed through her window the other day.”

“Alright, Act 2, Scene 2,” Ms. Machin clapped her hands together as the actors began to file into their positions. “Juliet appears on the balcony above, Romeo is below when he spots her and-”

Archie stepped onto the stage, glancing up at Betty with a look of longing as he began to deliver his lines.

“But soft! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the-”

Jughead couldn’t wait anymore. Before he could talk himself out of it, he hopped out from behind the lighting booth and made his way onto the stage.

“It is the east and Juliet is the sun,” Jughead finished the line for Archie, causing dozens of eyes to look to him with curious -yet intrigued- expressions.

“Jughead Jones, I will not have you make a mockery of-” Ms. Machin’s face was beet red from anger, but Veronica stepped behind her to place a gentle hand on her shoulder.

“Let him finish!” Veronica insisted, nodding for Jughead to finish the line as he stood in front of the balcony, looking up at Betty.

“Arise fair sun and kill the envious moon, who is already sick and pale with grief, that thou fair maid art far more fair than she,” Jughead continued, meeting Betty’s gaze with a look of regret and sorrow. “I messed up Bets. I should have told you how I felt about you a long time ago, but I was scared. I wasn’t sure if you felt the same way so I kind of - freaked out.”

“Juggie, all you had to do was talk to me,” Betty told him, taking a step closer to the edge of the balcony and leaning over it to smile down at him. “You can talk to me about anything.”

“I know,” Jughead met her smile before turning to everyone watching them and taking a deep breath. “So I’m asking you this now, in front of our entire class - will you go out with me?”

“Of course I will,” Betty answered, and a roar of cheers coming from the cast made an embarrassed giggle escape her lips.

Before anyone could protest, Jughead started climbing up the ladder meant to look like vines crawling up the side of the building and hoisted himself up and over the balcony to join Betty.

“Mr. Jones, that set it to be handled with care don’t you-” Ms. Machin yelled from the stage, but Jughead was already up and over before she could finish her sentence.

“Now, that’s the kind of play I would be excited about performing,” Veronica muttered to herself, clapping her hands together happily as she watched her friends smile at one another with goofy grins.

“Feel familiar?” Jughead asked as they stood in front of the hand-built window, his hands on her waist as she took a step closer to him.

“No yet,” Betty breathed before closing the space between them and placing her hands on his cheeks, their lips meeting with a kiss that was even better than their first.

say you’re me and you’re in english class, supposedly analyzing lord of the flies but in actuality thinking about manga and how jarring isayama’s pacing is with snk. there’s of course, the fact that the clash of the titans arc takes place literally like a day or two before the female titan arc and pretty much everything happens in a flashback for some reason, then there’s the super-confusing mess that is the uprising arc with politics and some pretty fiiine character development that all happens in what’s probably less than 36 hours.

and then, of course, there’s the return to shiganshina arc where they find out what’s in the basement after foreeever and then… an infodump??? for three chapters??? whyyyy!!

but of course if you really think about it, it makes perfect sense, in a kind of weird roundabout way that requires way too much thinking. but since this is english class of course you gotta analyze the story way too much in ways that the author likely never intended!

okay that was fun now onto actual meta or w/e. and, in case you guys didn’t pick it up from the introductory ramble, manga spoilers!!

  • we know that there’s only one family within the walls (besides grisha) who actually knows what goes on outside the walls: the reisses, the royal family.
    • they’re the only ones able to actually access this power to remember all that happened pre-wall era at will, assuming they have the coordinate
    • there’s only one person with the coordinate power at a time within the walls, so that makes only one person inside (again, besides grisha because he literally comes from outside) who knows everything.
      • AND they can’t tell anyone because it’s pretty overwhelming and terrible stuff
  • we know that the memories of the first king come are pretty overwhelming, completely taking over the holder of the coordinate for short spans of time

(i spent way too long looking for that screenshot but you know what it was fun refreshing my memory)

  • the memories of the outside world probably come rushing to the holder the second they become the new shifter in what’s probably a bunch of flashbacks, and when they come to literally minutes or less later, they’re completely different now that they have all this scary knowledge

(context for those who don’t mind spoilers or have forgotten details: historia’s father’s brother has just acquired the coordinate and is now more or less he god of the walled world. he knows.)

  • which brings me back to what i was originally harping on about: the point of the infodump on what’s going on outside the walls.
    • the reader is blind to all the truths and hidden secrets of the manga, just as everyone within the wall is blind to what happens beyond the titans and outside the walls.
    • and then, all of a sudden, we hit this huge milestone that’s been hyped up for literally 84 chapters, and we’re blown away with all. this. info. in such a short span of time. the meta writers went bonkers and everyone was kind of just screaming with their heads lit on fire.
      • that’s probably how all the reisses who inherited the coordinate felt when they first felt getting all this information

IN CONCLUSION: the way that the info dump was set up might have been intentional, paralleling how both the character’s felt at the time with this sudden heap of new information, and how most of the coordinate holders felt when they first learned everything.

i’m not saying it’s good writing. in my opinion, it was kind of lazy to just “hey kids we’re at this super hyped up, legendary basement have three months of screeching about now knowing everything whoop now there’s different problems yup”. but when overanalyzing it, it makes for a perfect mirror into how the characters themselves are feeling.
