yet badass

Sonic Tag Meme

I hath been tagged by @theguardianknux! Let’s do this! >:D

How long have you been a Sonic fan: Technically I’ve been a fan since 2000-2003, but I didn’t get really active until 2007, so I’ll say that XD

First Sonic game played: Sonic 3 (& Knuckles)

Top 3 Favorite Characters: Cream, Amy, and Tails X3 They’re all adorable, yet still badass and I can relate to them for various reasons

Favorite Vocal Track: Hm… It’s a toss up between “This Machine” (Team Dark’s theme from Heroes), “Team Chaotix” (theme of guess who from Heroes), and “Catch Me if You Can (Zero Gravity version)”… I guess I’ll go with “This Machine” because it’s just SUCH a badass theme for a badass team >:D

Favorite Non-Vocal Track: Imma go with “Perfect Dark Gaia”. An orchestral masterpiece which really gets your blood pumping to take down Dark Gaia and save the planet that you’ve explored and got to know everyone on it, alongside the friend you’ve bonded with throughout!

Top 3 Games: Sonic Unleashed, Sonic 3&K, and Sonic Generations (I also have Sonic Heroes as a personal favorite)

Top 5 Stages: Oh boy XD In no particular order…

1- Angel Island Zone (S3&K)

2- Seaside Hill/Ocean Palace (Heroes)

3- Hang Castle (Heroes)

4- Dragon Road (Unleashed, both Day and Night)

5- Ice Paradise (Advance 2)

Favorite Team, (Team Rose, Sonic, Dark, Chaotix): Tie between Team Sonic and Team Rose

Favorite Game Intro: Gonna have to go with the popular choice and say Sonic Unleashed. You- you just can’t top that!

Which game has the best story: I’m gonna have to go with Sonic Adventure. It has the best tone for the franchise, there is no “emptiness” in any part of the plot, the characters are portrayed and handled the best (especially Tails and Amy), and the overall message is delivered perfectly

2D, 3D, or Both: If you asked me this years ago, I would’ve said 3D in a heartbeat. But I’ve since come to terms that Sonic still needs to figure out the third dimension and 2D is plenty fun, so Imma say both :D

Sonic Mania or Sonic Forces: Neither, to be honest. Barely anything about Forces has been revealed thus far and the stuff that has is honestly disappointing to me (Classic Sonic returning despite Mania, Green Hill Zone AGAIN, the extended cast not being playable AGAIN, a new character being introduced when the already present cast have yet to be really used for well over ten years now, and Cream not being confirmed and likely never will because idiots) while I’ve never been excited for Mania. Can’t really get excited for a new Classic game after years of putting up with Classic extremists labeling everything I love to be pure shit, wanting Sonic to go backwards, and being catered to for the past few years. Not fond of Christian Whitehead after he said in an interview that he finds the extra characters to be “pointless”, a sentiment I’ve grown entitely intolerant of given that these characters AREN’T pointless and this opinion is preventing them from making appearances and potentially forced into obscurity. And while I’m glad characters OTHER than Sonic are playable at last, I can’t get excited when these characters are the ones that are already playable in Sonic 3 & Knuckles and the Advance trilogy, games that I’ve played numerous times and they don’t even have any new moves added to them… I’m sorry, I hate being a spoilsport, but that’s just how I feel. I do hope Mania kicks off a new series of Classic games, if only so the Classic extremists can shut up, and Forces ends up really being the game we all need, but presently I’m not excited for either of them

Which character(s) would you want to see in the Boom show: Even though I’m not at all fond of the Boom TV show, I REALLY want Cream to be included in the show ASAP! She is the most underutilized character in this franchise and she really needs the exposure! I’m also confident that MAYBE the writers can utilize Cream’s potential and make her overtly more badass (since people view Cream as “uninteresting” because she’s played as mostly a straight innocent girl instead of the subversion of that character archetype that she’s supposed to be). Other than Cream though, I also think Team Chaotix should be included because, come on, it’s TEAM CHAOTIX!

Best Sonic Show: The OVA. Great animation, great story, great portrayal of the characters, it’s overall the only great Sonic show in my opinion. If only it actually got to BE a show instead of a movie, but sadly it relied on Japanese viewership when Sonic isn’t popular at all in Japan…

Favorite Sonic Era: The Adventure/Pre-2010 Era. Yeah, it had ShTH and 06, the Adventure games and Heroes haven’t aged well, and so much about it could’ve been better (namely Dr. Eggman actually being an antagonist and not usurped by some random monster). But this era is what gave us the characters we all know and love, bothered to try and use them, expanded and fleshed out the world, and tried to tell compelling stories and actually succeeded in most areas. The Classic game’s only claim to fame is the gameplay and Post-2010 has Eggman being the final boss and sole threat

Tag 5 or more people: @candicindy, @crusherthedoctor, @echidnapower, @perla-speedofsound-adventuring, @classicdaisycalico, @isakthedragon, @theroadtoindigo-go, @mathewryf, @happystudentartist, and anyone else who wants to do this :D

So! This is just for fun, I actually don't know your sexuality but, if you had the chance to marry literally one character from the One Piece universe regardless of genre, who would you chose?

Am I allowed to say all?

But seriously, there are legitimately a lot of characters that I would probably want to marry and I can’t pick just one so I’ve narrowed it down to a few!

Luffy- He’s sweet, kind and also head strong. He cares deeply for his friends and loved ones! Plus, he doesn’t care what others think and will do whatever he thinks!

Vivi- She’s one of the nicest and compassionate characters in OP. She’ll stop at nothing to take care of her kingdom and the people she cares about! She’s also incredibly head strong!

Sabo- This guy is one of the biggest dorks yet a badass! He’s nice and tall so big, cute, strong cuddles! He’s also really protective and a sweetheart!

Ace- This man needs so much love and I would be prepared to give him that love!

Awesome underated comedy/slice of life to whatch

I have to say it I wasn’t that much fan of comedy as a genre since I love tragedy and sad anime mores but once in a while we all need a good anime to make us laugh loudly:D. I became a fan of the genre after watching gintama I guess but I wanted to share some others anime that made me literally cry for the too much laugh.

Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge

I literally fell in love with the anime. The comedy is great, the characters are awesome and special in their own way. And oh tanaka, his seiyuu (ono kensho) was awesome as always, no need to say he is one of my most favorites ever lol.

For high school student Tanaka, the act of being listless is a way of life. Known for his inattentiveness and ability to fall asleep anywhere, Tanaka prays that each day will be as uneventful as the last, seeking to preserve his lazy lifestyle however he can by avoiding situations that require him to exert himself. Along with his dependable friend Oota who helps him with tasks he is unable to accomplish, the lethargic teenager constantly deals with events that prevent him from experiencing the quiet and peaceful days he longs for.

Whatch it if you’re searching for:

  •  Great comedy
  • Fluffy dramma with some hints of romace
  • Lovely soundtrack
  • The art is so cute and on point
  • The gags are hilarious and quite original
  • Watch it for the amazing brotp

You only need tanaka as a reason tho , he is the real Mvp, I’m quite fond of him

Hoozuki no Reitetsu

Meet hoozuki one of the most badass characters I’ve seen in anime. This was such  a fresh breath of air. I mean, how often do you see the king of hell being treated like a little punk Lmao. And they announced it will have a second season yay

Hell is a bureaucracy, and business is running smoother than ever thanks to the demonic efficiency of Hoozuki, chief deputy to Lord Enma, the King of Hell. Whether offering counsel to the Momotarou of Japanese folklore or receiving diplomatic missions from the Judeo-Christian Hell, the demon who runs the show from behind the king’s imposing shadow is ready to beat down any challenges coming his way into a bloody pulp. Metaphorically, of course… The poster boy for micromanagement and armed with negotiation skills worthy of Wall Street, Hoozuki no Reitetsu follows the sadistic and level-headed Hoozuki as he spends his days troubleshooting hell. With an abundance of familiar faces from popular Japanese legends and East Asian mythology working middle management positions, this referential and anachronistic dark comedy brings new meaning to the phrase “employer liability.” Just how hard could it be to manage employees from hell, anyway? For the fans of tonari no kaibutsu kun, they also made an apparence in hoozuki

Watch it if you’re searching for:

  • Badass yet not overpowered as fuck characters
  • For the great comedy
  • Watch it if you’re interested in the japanese folklore
  • The lovely and refreshing artstyle
  • Watch it for those two Lmao, You will laugh until your stomach hurts, I garantee that

Gugure! Kokkuri-san

Thi anime is such a gem and yet noone seem to know it bruh. The characters were all crazy and yet tender. The comedy is great and I love how they want to break most of the tropes in comedy anime Lmao

Kohina Ichimatsu, the self-proclaimed doll, called out the fox ghost Kokkuri-san with a suspicious incantation! But it was a story of the past where Kokkuri-san was able to answer any question you had. Nowadays, it relies on a certain search engine, but is actually bad at anything digital. He was going to possess Kohina, but got worried about her living all alone and devotes himself to do chores as if he was her mother. On top of that, the dog ghost Inugami who is infatuated with Kohina and the old good-for-nothing supernatural raccoon dog Shigaraki decide to root themselves with her as well!

(Source: Crunchyroll)

Watch it if you’re searching for:

  • Hilarious comedy
  • The lovely character devolpment of the main protagonist
  • The fluffy yet adorable bonds that  the anime manages to create
  • Attractive spirit struggling with a mid-life crisis due to him fearing for his relevance in the the modern world Lol

Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan (TV)

The only anime that managed to make me laugh this much was gintama. This is literally a masterpiece Lmao since it never fails to make you laugh

To the average person, psychic abilities might seem a blessing; for Kusuo Saiki, however, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Gifted with a wide assortment of supernatural abilities ranging from telepathy to x-ray vision, he finds this so-called blessing to be nothing but a curse. As all the inconveniences his powers cause constantly pile up, all Kusuo aims for is an ordinary, hassle-free life—a life where ignorance is bliss.

Unfortunately, the life of a psychic is far from quiet. Though Kusuo tries to stay out of the spotlight by keeping his powers a secret from his classmates, he ends up inadvertently attracting the attention of many odd characters, such as the empty-headed Riki Nendou and the delusional Shun Kaidou. Forced to deal with the craziness of the people around him, Kusuo comes to learn that the ordinary life he has been striving for is a lot more difficult to achieve than expected.

Sunday Respite - Necromancy: Making Friends

I will be truthful, I have never had a player choose to devote themselves to the dark-arts … in-game, obviously. Well, and out of game. Usually they avoid the venerable school with a distance rivaled only by that given to inconspicuous props upon pedestals in wide, empty dungeon rooms. Perhaps its a dislike of suiting the stereotypical (yet badass) summoner of souls and entrapper of the dead, perhaps its a desire to pursue a more immediately rewarding school such as evocation or illusion. I say bah-humbug to this. If someone wishes to play in my game and hang out in haunted graveyards, chanting ‘til the pale moon sinks beneath the horizon, then I say good on you, pal.

Here are some enticing items to tempt the pure and incorruptible over into the blackest fifth and rotten waste, where mortal pleasures and obsessions are diseases to be cured through the sacrifice and suffering of the pursuit of true knowledge. Unlock that fascination, surrender to the whispers, take our hand and join us beneath the cloaking shadows of the dungeon walls.

Hooded-Cowl of the Antler

A warm and well-made cowl which tussles and dances in the midnight winds. A beautiful inner of amber weave gleams like torchlight under the absorbing darkness of the exterior; empty as sorrow, lonely as a blackened tide washing over barren shores of ancient bones and tattered flotsam. The collar ties loop together over the chest around an iron ring, and the hood obscures face and eye from any passing observer. The wearer, upon command, can pull forth from the speechless depths of the earth a great, prideful stag of ashen bone and gleaming frost. It howls out onto the wilderness and slowly lowers its head toward its master, offering a ride upon its icy spine. The stag can run as fast as any horse, living or dead, and can outrun a jackal pack over open ground. It leaves behind a path of frigid air, with pebbles and stones lathered in peeling cold for hours beyond its passing. Those unfortunate enough to cross this trail risk having their blood lock in their veins as they idly step through its trail.

Hangman’s Gift

This decoration is a rotten, gnarled length of thick rope, tied around the wearer’s neck with a clubbish knot hanging below the chin. The trailing fibers are frayed and sliced to wire-thin strings. This necklace, or sorts, is worn by those who have survived executions and certain death through one means or quite another. The gallows aren’t suited for them, and many executioners recognise such a symbol; one of an untouchable status. This man should be dead. Whilst the Gift is adorned, the wearer doesn’t require food, water, nor even air to survive. They live on through the worst that life can throw at them, and much beyond that.

Motley Neck-Knife

The Motley blade is a tidy-little throat slicer. Its a short, silver blade, barely an inch long, secured upon an ivory grip. Its sheath is that of a simple, black leather with a crude zig-zag stitching around its opening. When the Motley dagger earns its name and separates a man from his life with an abrupt, yet precise, infliction, that same body that dropped not two seconds ago jolts back to its feet at his killer’s side. Most guards have seen a murder in their time, so corpses scares them little. Some have even witnessed petty undead, so a shambling body upon its twisted ankles and bloated joints is nothing to panic over. But none had seen the smiles that the Motley carver grows over its victim’s lifeless mugs. Certainly none had heard the screams of the dead men inside as they watched in horror, helplessly passive as they see their own, empty forms stride forth towards friend and fellow alike with a feral madness burning in their bloodshot, and crow-pecked eyes.

Dead-Shot Arrows

These arrows are made of human bone. Their feathered ends are human hairs, the shaft is a carved femur, and the head is a incisor tooth, carved to a needle’s edge. They feel heavy to hold in mortal hands, like all of the goodness in the world and your head bleeds out onto the floor as you level it upon your pale palm. The munition is said to be made exclusively from the skeletons of priests and paladins from wherever they may be found. No-other would do, clearly. For when you test the wrath of the divine you may as well go full-in. Why not desecrate the holy dead? That query becomes difficult to dispute once the arrow meets a target. The arrow stings like a wasp swarm, digging out the skin, itching the blood like the veins are full of sandpaper. Then the victim’s bones begin to creak like heavy timbers under a sea storm, bending and twisting in horrific pain. Then they splinter and fracture through skin like porcupine quills as the bones begin to pull themselves out of their flesh.

Pipes of the Grave

A lonely city-bard may perchance these wooden pipes of birch and green leather in a lonely shop window on a lonely street they have never once walked. The shop-keep promises through yellowed teeth and dry lips that the instrument is as perfect as a true-lover’s kiss, bringing true emotion to any tale told with heartful passion and intent: a memorable performance if there would ever be one. The bard may yet further be intrigued at the low price, and may further yet buy them with a smile gleaming with the thought of gold and silver coins aplenty. The performances that she plays will sing like mountain cries and wail with forlorn hopes, echoing through every generation’s ears, bringing both youth and elders alike to rapturous applause. The crowd is crying, only not in joy. They scatter like woodlice as the lush grasses of the city park grounds split open into raw dirt and clawing fingers, as the generations lost before join in on the celebrations, tearing their rotten hulks up from the ancient graveyards buried and forgotten below. His performance ceases, and the dead collapse into piles of bone. She discards the instrument, destroys it perhaps, and she returns to her original flute. Unfortunately, once the Pipes have been played, the curse it contracts is not so easily gotten rid of, and the dead will rise wherever she sings.

I am… I am green

I love Mondai No Aru Restaurant with all my heart and I want to make at least one more gifset highlighting how good it is, but I wanted to show Nitta’s speech first because it really got to me. When I was a kid and I played Sailor Moon with my friends, I actually WANTED to be Sailor Jupiter. She was strong and badass and yet traditionally feminine and I loved characters that were allowed to be both strong and girly, like Rogue from Saban’s X-Men. However, I had the same problem Nitta had. When roles were distributed, I could rarely be Jupiter because, even if I didn’t look like any of the Scouts, Makoto was the furthest to me. A short, fat, girly, bookworm kid like me wasn’t imposing, strong looking enough to be Jupiter. I had to be Mercury, she looked nothing like me but at least she was shy and nerdy. Sailor Moon is often put up there like a feminist anthem, like a broth in which current young feminists were brewed, and although I do recognize its merits, I also understand its shortcomings and I loved how this drama showed the other side of its impact on young girls.

I found it fascinating how Nitta is given green in the show’s restaurant, and she has a rocky yet developing relationship with a co-worker, who she considers an “enemy” for being everything she’s not (she values appearance and romance more than study and work). But it turns out that this girl was also always Jupiter in the playground and, when she gets a color in the restaurant, she’s orange, like Sailor Venus, the one with the shortest skirt and the love, beauty and light powers and who was an idol, often dismissed by girls I grew up around for the opposite, because she was “too feminine”. They both find out, through the episodes, that the only thing keeping them apart is internalized misogyny.

This drama, much like Sailor Moon, has a female protagonist who wants to fight for justice, a less magical and more realistic kind of justice, putting up a restaurant after a friend of hers gets severely harassed in the workplace and trying to fight back to the sexist environment they work in. Much like Usagi, she has an entourage of girls with different personalities, identities and issues (a young hikikomori with severe social anxiety, an overachiever with low self esteem, a girl who seeks validation through male attention and is victim of abuse, a trans woman whose work is put into question constantly for her identity and not her talent, a career woman who left her job because it’s too difficult to try succeeding when she isn’t a man and a mother who’s constantly denigrated and finally abandoned by her husband, who is trying to take her son away from her). They’re not only fighting for a common goal of helping their leader, they’re all fighting for their own self respect, the defense of their own identities and a sense of equality that is constantly being taken away from them, in the most denigrating and sexist ways possible. So yeah, I love this drama and I sure hope I can make more gifsets to represent its amazingness, but this speech dealing with internalized misogyny and female competition through a Sailor Moon metaphor really deserved its own gifset.
