There's a video by Pop Culture Detective on YouTube called Predatory Romances in Harrison Ford Movies that critiques Hanleia in The Empire Strikes Back. Have you seen it? I wouldn't exactly call their relationship 100% normal and healthy (and I like that the new canon shows it wasn't able to work in the long-term), yet calling the Hanleia romance predatory doesn't feel right to me. But what do you think?
Yes, I think calling Han/Leia predatory is waaaaay over the top. They made it very clear that there was mutual attraction there, and the sparky back and forth was about calling to mind the classic old Hollywood romances rather than framing Han as a predatory male. Leia is unwilling to admit to her feelings initially, but over the course of the film you realise that they’re there and they’re important.
