yes comic con was great i loved it best time ever

Review - Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde

Well this as a cute little bi girl YA/New Adult romance <3 <3 <3

Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde follows three friends as they attend a totally-supposed-to-be-SDCC-but-named-something-else-for-legal-reasons comic con.  Charlie is an Chinese Austrailian bi girl and small time YouTube star still recovering from a bad break up with her toxic ex.  They starred together in an indie movie that made it big and now she has to deal with him all weekend while they promote the film.  Thankfully she has Alyssa, a much bigger YouTube celebrity and total crush to distract her.   Then there is Taylor, a fat autistic girl with mental health issues who is secretly in love with their third friend Jamie.

What follows is a fast-paced, sweet, and gentle romance for both girls.  Charlie’s burgoning relationship with Alyssa comes under a public spotlight and complete with YouTube videos and ship names.   For Taylor it is finding her tribe at the con both with other fans of her favorite book series and a comic made by a fellow autistic girl.  This allows Jamie, a character who is basically the most perfect guy best friend ever to turn their relationship romantic, even if it does set off a panic attack.  Both girls work their way through however and come to lovely happy endings for now.

It was great to see Charlie use the word bisexual to describe herself MULTIPLE times.  Including a scene where she confronts her ex about his biphobia.  It’s also nice that her love interest has no objection to her being bisexual and doesn’t say anything rude, biphobic, or fucked up about it despite being implied to be a lesbian.  Yes folks the bar for bi representation really is that low and yes I really am excited that Queens of Geek manages to clear it (because so many books don’t).

If I have any real complaint its that the story moves REALLY fast.  There isn’t much time to let Taylor’s mental illness or Charlies new relationship settle in.  In an author interview at the end of the book, it seems like this novel came out of Jen Wilde’s experience on WattPad, which explains to me the quick fanfiction-like pace.  For those of you who do like to linger on characters, it will be over too soon.  But for those looking for a quick read, the result is an enjoyable and very validating little love story.

Here’s my breakdown of what happened at C2E2!

I spent Friday attending professional panels for the comics industry, which probably deserves a post of its own, but I don’t think anyone is interested in me talking shop. But Saturday was devoted to Agents of SHIELD stuff with Iain and Liz. I had an amazing time and so many awesome things happened. Truly it was the best con experience I’ve ever had and, as @bigfunnywords (HEY Tumblr finally let me tag you!) said, I lived my best life. I’ll try to do the tl;dr version but this will probably get long.

Putting the rest behind a cut for your scrolling convenience.

Ways to Cheer Yourself Up (When wanting to be alone) - 50 top things to do
  • 1. Go ON Tumblr, believe it or not, we don't care where you're from, what you do, how you're being you, as long as you are being you, you're pretty much welcomed on here. That's why i love it. Unless of course you are homophobic or judgemental or ignorant - then the people will speak for themselves, we look out for each other here.
  • 2. Read Books; escapism is a wonderful thing
  • 3. Listen to music; and no - not the sad, 'ALL BY MYSELF' type music, but the kickass songs like 'I will Survive' or 'Loser Like Me' just celebrate yourself for being awesome, because we know you are; even if others don't; especially then actually.
  • 4. Become your own superhero. Every single one of you have a talent or a dream. Follow up on that talent/dream. YOU ARE WORTH IT, and you can be whoever you want to be.
  • 5. DISNEY MOVIES. Unless you absolutely hate bursting out into song - better cut of highschool musical and glee while were at this, then Disney is the best pick me up ever.
  • 6. Watch your favourite TV shows. Remind yourself why life can be awesome. Watching your fav characters usually means you can relate to them.
  • 7. Go on walks - it's very pretty outside, and sometimes our heads can be overloaded with information or stress, I advise calming music and a nice walk outside in comfortable clothes.
  • 8. Have a diary. A friend of mine recently bought me one, and it's a godsend because all the anger, or emotions I feel, I try to put in the diary rather than putting it out on others. It also calms you down. I feel better when I write.
  • 9. Speaking of writing...if you enjoy it- WRITE. Writing is a wonderful way to escape. You can put all your emotions into your characters and they just come to life. I tend to do that when I'm stressed.
  • 10. If writing is not your thing then bake. I've actually ironically read in a fan fiction where a character would bake when stressed and try out new recipes, this character tried making butterbeer; maybe be adventurous; have a food blog or something to keep you occupied.
  • 11. Be With Your Pets - Pets are loyal creatures, and they love you, even when you're being a pain in the ass, and I hear they're very good listeners.
  • 12. Now I don't know about you, but I LOVE Musicals. If you are a musical fanatic like me and you're feeling a little down, my dears; listen to those awesome voices, because sometimes we just - need - a break (Also, if you haven't watched RENT, watch it - NODAYBUT TODAY...or Starkid...Starkid make the most funniest musical parodies, even if you don't like musicals I suggest it, and if you're not enjoying their YouTube Channel, then I'll eat my own hat).
  • 13. ASK ME ANYTHING. If you really want to talk to somebody but you don't want to talk to people you know and you just want to get things out, my ASK box is always open.
  • 14. Find a hobby. If you don't really want to talk to anybody, that's okay, sometimes we need to just have some 'me time'. In my me times, I usually deactivate from Facebook, and just focus on things that make me happy. Like; Puzzles, Sudoku, Games, writing, cooking, singing, whatever it is...travelling even. Enjoy yourself.
  • 15. Travel. Maybe being stuck in the same place is the problem, maybe you're head wants to be in a place where it can ACTUALLY THINK.
  • 16. Go Hiking. I suppose Hiking is similar to walking but if you're an outdoor person, this is a great way to clear your head and to feel fresh.
  • 17. Hit The Gym. Or even do your own exercises. I like to walk - do crunches, and I love Zumba. I love dancing. If you love being active, this is also another way to clear your mind from negative things.
  • 18. GO SEE A MOVIE!!! When was the last time you had fun? Even if it's just by yourself. You're allowed to treat yourself. Go, enjoy, be surrounded by people, even if they're strangers.
  • 19. If you like coffee, treat yourself for one at a local cafe. Who knows, you might meet your coffee soulmate in a cafe one day.
  • 20. STOP thinking Negative. Have a Pros/Cons List. Try not to outweight the Pros list with the Cons. Please?
  • You are good enough.
  • 21. Write down a bucket List, and start ticking them off. Having goals and dreams is healthy. If you have dreams, then you have a direction of where you're going.
  • 22. Get help. It's okay, if you're head is in a really bad place to reach out to people. It really is okay.
  • 23. Help others. If you're not sure what to do with yourself at all, be useful to other people less fortunate than you. Volunteer! Work with Charity, Feed the homeless, help the guide dogs association.
  • 24. Smile more. It looks good on you, believe me. Spend time with your guilty pleasures, my guilty pleasure is binge watching glee
  • 25. Please DO NOT go to a pub to drink to ease your mind, if you are going to do that, do it with a friend, or somebody close.
  • 26. Eat Chocolate. Okay yes while society says NO DON'T EAT THE FATTY FOOD. Hey; screw them. If you feel better eating a bit of junk go for it. There's nothing wrong with eating a whole pizza or tub of ben and jerry ice cream when feeling upset - just try not to make TOO much of a habit : p
  • 27. REBLOG YOUR FOLLOWERS POSTS, you might be surprised that you aren't the only one feeling the way you're feeling, you might be surprised by how much you're forgetting that hey - it's gonna be alright.
  • 28. Do something nice for your neighbour. Ah who knows, have you ever actually talked to them? Maybe they might be lonely too.

  • 31. Draw. I love drawing too. I suppose I'm more of the creative person. There are a lot of different types of people out there, maybe you like solving things - do those fancy cube things Idk what they're called. If you are like my brother and you love Maths, then maybe you can tutor someone. On one hand you're helping someone, and doing something you like doing, just like I'm drawing because I like drawing.
  • 32.Be with kids. believe it or not, kids are the most innocent little munchkins, and they honestly don't care what you look like, if you play hide and seek with them they'll be thrilled, so long as you're nice to them, they're generally nice to you... but be warned, they tell it how it is too. I talk a bit different. The most popular thing they've said to me was "Is that why you talk funny, because of the things in your teeth?" (They've also never really seen braces before) I even had one kid determined to get me to sing 'Everything is awesome' I'll never forget that because this kid clearly didn't care how I sounded, and just wanted me to sing with her. I felt great.
  • 33. If you're into Fairy Tales, Please Please Read Chris Colfer's The Land Of Stories series 1-4. It's an amazing series, and you almost forget what world you're in once you start reading. Plus, there's more coming (I'm a little excited)

  • 42. Enter a competition - Who knows what will come from it, take risks.

Enchanting too sometimes. Maybe we forget about the place we live in, and what's exciting about the place. If you're in New York, visit Broadway or The Statue Of Liberty, or if you're in London, go to the London Bridge, or the Eye, visit the Eiffel Tower if you're in Paris...just go Anywhere.
  • 50. Take a random journey. Go on a train to somewhere new, go on a road trip. You never know what's around the corner.
RIP Monty Oum (June 22, 1981 – February 1, 2015)

Who was Monty? Monty was the personification of motivation, determination and resolve. He was the man who never slowed down, who always wanted his life to be efficient, quick and as productive as possible. To those of you that never knew Monty, it might be hard to imagine to what extent of this I mean. Imagine a man who would literally microwave food by hitting random numbers, then pull it out the second it was ready, to rush off to an 18 hour work day where his uniform was a suite adorned with ping pong balls. Imagine a man who opted to have a work space right next to a motion capture stage because it was the most efficient location. Imagine a man who operated his computer entirely via keyboard shortcuts, hardly ever needing to touch the mouse, frequently breaking his keyboard keys from the break neck speed he worked. This was Monty, a literal Bruce Lee of animation. He would slow down for nothing more than his amazing wife Sheena.

I first met Monty in 2009 at Anime-Expo, the second time I’d been to the United States. I walked up to his tiny little table at the convention where he was promoting his series Dead Fantasy by giving out free DVDs. I was dressed as the sniper from TF2, as my friends were doing a group cosplay and wanted me on board as I still had my Australian accent. We started talking shop as we were both animators and through this we became quick friends. After the convention he came back to a friends apartment where I was staying and we hung out the entire time he was still in town. Here he showed me parts of Dead Fantasy that he was working on and I got the first look at how fast he was able to work, it was awe inspiring. At the time Monty was living in San Fransisco working at Namco Bandai as a combat designer for the Afro Samurai game, so obviously he had obligations he needed to return to.

He went home and I went on with the rest of my trip, until Comic-Con 2009 where we ran into him again. Here I attended a panel he was on about creating content online, it was interesting to listen to him talk about how he never wasted any time in his day and was all about constantly moving and always working. I quickly found myself looking up to Monty and I think some of my friends even jokingly teased me about it, but he deserved any to all admiration he recieved.

After Comic-Con I was coming to the end of my trip, as my travel visa was running out and my flight home was quickly approaching. My friends took me to a Korean BBQ to wish me a safe trip home, I was rather upset that I had to leave as I was becoming quite fond of all my friends in the US. Then I learn Monty is flying down from San Fransisco to join us. He literally flew down to Los Angeles to come to my going away party so he could wish me a safe trip home. It was then I knew that this guy was something special and a really good friend.

From here I was obsessed with the idea of living and working in the US, so I tried to see how possible it was but always hit walls. In 2010 Monty was finally working at Rooster Teeth, a place that had been constantly trying to get him to come work for them. He was working incredibly hard on Red vs Blue and he needed all the help he could get. He asked me if I’d be interested in coming to the US to work with him on RvB, I was so thrilled by the idea. I told him that if he could make it happen I would absolutely be down to work with him.

Time passed and Monty eventually had to tell me that he had been talking to Burnie and the other high ups at Rooster Teeth, they had told him it wasn’t possible to hire me and get me into the country. Apparently they had been having problems getting someone else into the country to work at Rooster Teeth who lived in the UK. So because of this, I never ended up working at Rooster Teeth. I of course later learned that this person from the UK was Gavin. How funny it is that people constantly compare me to him and we both went through the exact same thing, I’ve also still never met the guy!

Time passes and myself and Monty run into each other again at Comic-Con in 2011. Here he we manage to squeeze in 1 night to talk to each other about what we’re working on. I don’t have much to share other than I want to possibly reboot my old series “Gameoverse”. I believe I told him I had been slacking off playing video games, to which he responded “game developers are going to be fine without you, they have plenty of people to play their games. You don’t have time for that, you need to be animating”. He seemed eager to share what he was working on, as apparently he was wrapping up on Red vs Blue and wanted to shift focus into a series of his own. This night he explained the entire concept of RWBY, it was a lot to take in but I was thrilled to hear it. The weapons and characters he envisioned just sounded so much like something he would make, I remember a lot about that conversation. He even tried to see if maybe both me and Arin wanted to come work on the show.. While it was tempting I had to decline because moving to Texas didn’t work for either of us and we had other projects going on. The next year, exactly as he said he would.. RWBY rolled out in full force. It was everything he said it was going to be.

Fast forward and I’m now working as a part of the Game Grumps channel and making many convention apperances. I was taking every one I could to catch up with Monty, who was generally at the same events with Rooster Teeth. Every time we hung out he would constantly nag me about Gameoverse and my other personal projects, which I always felt lazy for not having done anything with, whilst he had conquered his own. But I know he just wanted me to be the best I could be.

2014 rolls around and it’s our first time every appearing at the Rooster Teeth convention “RTX”. We were thrilled to be going as guests and I was very excited to spend time with Monty. I went to all his panels I could and spent as much time with him as possible, it was great. Back stage after one of his panels I was introduced to the CEO of Rooster Teeth, Matt Hullum. Monty said to him “remember that Australian kid I wanted to hire to work with me and we couldn’t do it?” then he proudly pointed at me, I was damn flattered. Here I am years later as a guest of Rooster Teeth, it was kind of funny to think how these things work out. After Matt left, I spent a while talking to Monty who wanted to know more about the series I wanted to make, I told him literally everything. He seemed to like it, but was curious why I hadn’t started. I told him “I’m not totally confident on the first episodes script, I feel like it needs a lot of work and polish and–…” he stopped me and told me “Ross, it doesn’t matter if the show you want to create isn’t amazing at the beginning, the important thing is that you start it. Eventually down the line, it will be what you want it be.. That might be season 2, it might even be season 5.. But it WILL get there”. This stuck with me, he was totally right.

Later that year Monty and his wife Sheena came by and visited the under construction Game Grumps office with our mutual friend Jason. I think he was really proud of us for getting to this point and according to Burnie (which we learned from later) he had an infactuation with our desks? Apparently he thought we had great desks. I was so happy that Monty was seemingly proud of what we were achieving, being a person who knew me when I was struggling to get by in this crazy world.

MAGfest 2015 I’m doing our Game Grumps panel and mid-way through I recieve a call from Monty’s number. You can audibly hear me say in a recording of the panel “Monty Oum is calling me for some reason??”. Thankfully I didn’t pick up, because it was obviously the bad news that he had been hospitilized and was in a coma. Sheena contacted my wife Holly with the bad news and she held out on telling me till after the Game Grumps signing.. I’m glad she did because I was on the balcony at MAGfest crying for what felt like an hour. I kept up appearances for fans for the rest of the convention, but I was incredibly distraught and barely able to think about anything else.

The following week I left for Texas to see Monty in hospital and to support everyone he loved. I’m going to keep details about this very minimal, as it’s intensely personal. But saying goodbye to Monty in the hospital was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. The rest of the weekend I spent with our friends at Rooster Teeth trying to lift everyones mood by hanging out playing games, watching cartoons, playing laser tag and eating Texas BBQ. We were all feeling it, but I’m glad we were all there for each other. I even took the opportunity to take a set of RWBY action figures for the Grumps office, something that Monty always promised us but kept forgetting.

On the way to the airport we drove past Monty’s hospital. I whispered to myself “goodbye Monty”, minutes later I get a call from Jason to inform me that Monty had just passed. I took it pretty well, I don’t think it would’ve been humanly possible to have anymore closure than I had recieved. As we were getting our tickets in the airport, a airport employee came up to us and asked “hey are those some anime figures?” looking directly at the RWBY toys.. I said “yes, yes they are”. Monty thought it was so silly when people would say RWBY wasn’t anime, I had to agree. I mean for gods sake, a japanese company was localizing his cartoon and it was never a conversation as to if RWBY wasn’t anime or not, it just was.

What I took away from this final goodbye is that I needed to honor Monty by creating something great. This year I want to start making an animated series, I feel like that’s what Monty would want me to do. It’s what Monty would want YOU to do. Go out there and create art. Music, animation, movies.. Anything your heart desires. Honor Monty by creating your art. I’ll end this with some great quotes from his personal blog.

“I believe that the human spirit is indomitable. If you endeavor to achieve, it will happen given enough resolve. It may not be immediate, and often your greater dreams is something you will not achieve within your own lifetime. The effort you put forth to anything transcends yourself, for there is no futility even in death.”

“Can you match my resolve?
If so then you will succeed”

Goodbye Monty, we love you.

“Ok let me get this straight.” Y/F/N muttered. “You’re telling me that the person who has your phone is Chris? THE Chris Evans?!” Her voice grew louder and you could feel everyone’s eyes on you.

You bit the inside of your cheek, remembering the way his eyes gazed into yours. And who would’ve thought that coming tonight, you would be in this situation.

“Yes. He’s meeting me out here.” You whispered, crossing your arms over your chest.

You could feel your heart pounding profusely as the time was ticking closer. In just a few minutes, Chris Evans would be right there with you.

“This is crazy! Oh my god I’m shaking for you!” She cackled throwing her arms in the air.

You chuckled along, shaking your head. “I’m nervous enough!” You whispered loudly.

She locked her arm with yours and squealed a little bit longer.
If only she could hear your thoughts. Knowing that deep down you were screaming.

Behind you, there was a small sigh along with the sound of someone clearing their throat.

Y/F/N snapped her head back, almost pulling you both down.
“Hi! Hey! I mean hello.” She exclaimed, stumbling over her own words.

Chris’ lips curved up and let out a soft laugh. “Hi-” he paused eyeing her then to you.

“Oh I’m Y/F/N.” She muttered throwing her hand out to him.
“Hi Y/F/N. Nice to meet you.” He smirked. He turned to you, locking his gaze with yours. You could feel the heat begin to escape your body and your stomach flutter as he batted his eyes at you.

Your friend looked at you, hoping you’d say something, anything. But nothing was coming out.

She elbowed your side, snapping you out of your trance.

“Uh sorry. M-my name is Y/N.” You flashed an innocent smile.

His lips curved up, into the smile you grew to love over the years. “That’s a beautiful name.” He whispered.

“We better go, the guys are waiting.” Downey exhaled, rolling up his sleeves.

Chris nodded. “Yea, ok. But before I go, I think this belongs to you.” He pulled the phone out from his pocket, and held it out toward you.

Both your hands grazed over each other, causing a small shock to vibrate through out your body.

“T-thank you.” You hesitated, never removing your gaze off his beautiful blue eyes.

You both stood quietly, with giant grins plastered onto your faces, falling deeply into each other, without realizing it.

“Hey, Chri, Sorry man, but we have to go.” Robert exclaimed.

“Hey, why don’t you girls come join us? The nights still young and it’d be fun.” He smirked. Biting on his lower lip.

“Hell yea!” Y/F/N yelped, eager to even be in his presence.

Chris chuckled as he looked back at his friend who nodded quickly and turned away. “Alright, it’s settled. Now let’s go!”

He was obviously growing impatient.

Evans took a step to the side, motioning for you to lead the way, his smile never faltering.

Not noticing, but Chris watched you as you walked past him and into the bar. His eyes averting from the top of your head to your back, down to your ass, and nodded approvingly.

He was in awe and couldn’t believe someone as beautiful as you would ever give him the time of day. But he knew he wanted to get to know you, since the panel, and seeing you for the first time, he was hooked. Drawn into you.

“Hey, better wipe your mouth, looks like your drooling.” Robert teased. Laughing to himself.

Chris rolled his eyes and pursed his lips. “Shut up, old man.” He rolled his eyes.

(A couple hours later)

A few drinks in, and you could feel your lips start to tingle and your mind begin to haze.

Hearing some great stories from the set, and getting to know the guys, you felt at ease. Comfortable as if you have known these guys for a while.

“You know, this guy looks all tough but he’s actually a big teddy bear.” Mackie cackled patting Chris on the back.

“Oh yea, he’s such a softy. It’s adorable.” Robert hiccuped.

You and your friend sat, giggling as the boys continued to pick on Chris. You watched as he hid behind his hand, laughing and blushing to himself. It was the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen.

Through out the night, you could feel yourself grow more attracted to him. He was so much more than good looks and it was hard for you to ignore.

Y/F/N made her way to Sebastian, her cheeks were flushed and she was obviously drunk. She and Seb cracked jokes and talked about movies and music basically all night, which of course was by far the highlight of her life.

“Having fun?” Chris muttered, snapping you out of your trance.

Looking back at him, you flashed a soft smile and nodded.
“Yeah. You guys are crazy.” You cackled.

He chuckled along with you, slowly sliding closer to you.
“I’m glad you think that. I was scared they might scare you off.” He flashed a smirk.

“Not at all. You’re amazing.” You exhaled. “I mean you all are.”

His lips curved and he exposing his teeth, creating his nose to scrunch just a bit.

“You’re pretty great yourself.” He hesitated.

Your stomach fluttered as the blood rushed up to your cheeks. Causing you to look away, hoping he didn’t notice how red you got.

He was mesmerized. He couldn’t believe just how beautiful you are. From your eyes, to your lips. He was drawn to every inch of you. Especially to your laugh.

If he could, he would sit there all night just to hear you laugh.

“Want to go outside for a bit? It’s kind of hot in here.” He muttered.

The words made your heart skip a beat. Chris Evans wanted to hang out with you alone, outside!

Your mind was swirling with different emotions.

“S-sure.” You finally let out.

Chris began to walk toward the door, as you walked over to your best friend.

“I’m going to be outside if you need me ok?” You said. She looked at Chris, then back at you, eyes growing wide as her mouth dropped.

“Go! Have fun. I’ll be fine.” She pulled you in for a quick hug. “Good luck.” She whispered.

Following Chris out of the bar, you were immediately hit by the cold air, feeling as if you were finally able to breathe. It was quite refreshing, especially after all the blushing and what not.

There you two were, alone, away from the everyone.

The way the light hit his face, exposed his freckles. He was beautiful.
He locked his gaze with yours, biting his lower lip as it slightly curved up.

“W-what?” You exhaled. Shivering as the breeze created chills throughout your body.

For a moment, he just stared, his eyes never leaving you. It was as if he was studying every aspect of your features.

Suddenly, you felt your stomach begin to churn. Overthinking everything, wondering what exactly he was looking at. You were beginning to think you had something on your face.

Before you asked him one more time, his fingers brushed against your cheek as he pushed a strand of hair behind your ear.
“You’re beautiful.” He whispered.

And just like that, you forgot how to breathe.

You couldn’t help but notice how full and luscious his lips were, feeling yourself slowly gravitate to him. You wanted nothing more than to taste them. To feel him on you.

Chris felt the same way. Trying to work up the nerve to just take you in his arms and kiss you right there and then.
Your breathing was light and slow, and slowly both your bodies were inching closer.

He looked into your eyes, noticing the color for the first time in a new perspective. He was intrigued by you. And he wasn’t quite sure why.

“I-” he paused, swallowing hard as he glanced at your soft lips back up to your eyes. “I’d like to kiss you”

Those words echoed in your head and creating a warm pool form in the core of your stomach.

He never noticed the way your eyes would crinkle when you grew bashful and smiled down at your feet. He knew that was the smile he wanted to see for the rest of his life. He was hypnotized. And somehow, he couldn’t snap out of it.

“I would love that.” You whispered.

It was like having tunnel vision, only able to see him. Everything else around him blurred. You could hear the sound of your heart thudding in your ears and the scent of beer mixed with the natural air filled your nose.

You were just inches away from his face. His mouth watered for you, excited to finally taste you.

As you felt anxious, your palms grew sweaty.

Chris leaned in, just about to press his lips to yours until….

“Hey Chris!” Mackie hiccuped calling out for him.
You both jolted and took a step back away from each other.

“Over here.” He cleared his throat, shoving his hands deep into his pockets.

Mackie walked over to you guys, almost tripping over his own feet.

“Okay buddy. You ok?” Chris chuckled, pulling him up.

“Yea I’m great. We need you for karaoke!” He yelled, louder than needed. “Come on, we need the boss to show us how it’s really done!”

Chris met your eyes, wishing Mackie wasn’t there, ruining the moment.

And as much as you would love to kiss him, you knew it would be best to just go back inside.

“That sounds fun!” You smiled.

“Great. Let’s go before RDJ takes the  mic.” He spewed out.

You followed the guys into the bar, watching your best friend sing with Hemsworth on stage. She was happy and so comfortable, you couldn’t help but smile.

She noticed you and waved. Jumping down and running to you.
Her arms wrapped around your neck, and she pulled you in.

“Tonight is perfect!” She yelped into your ear.

“I’m glad you’re having fun.” You chuckled.

She pecked your cheek and quickly ran back to the guys.
You looked back at the bartender and ushered for another drink.

“Rain check?” Chris whispered, interrupting your thoughts.

Looking at him for just a second, you felt your stomach twist. This was it, your moment.

You took back the shot of vodka, and winced as the alcohol streamed through you, but immediately, you brushed it off and took in a deep breath.

Who knows when this will happen again. This could be the only chance you had to kiss him, and you didn’t want to let that slip away. Propping on to your feet, you cupped his face and crashed your lips to his.

Both your hearts were racing as your tongues danced along each other. He tasted of something sweet, and his lips were extremely soft and warm. It brought you to a high. You both were so deep into the kiss, forgetting everyone around you. One of your favorite songs echoed in the air.

Chris gripped on to your waist and pulled you in close. Your hands tangled into his hair, breathing him in.

Lingering on the kiss, you wanted to savor each and every second of it.

“Chris come up here man!” Mackie belted out.

You both pulled away, shocked of what just happened. His eyes were locked on yours, and he could feel his stomach flutter. Breathless from your beauty.

Chris was locked in your trance, as if you were a siren, pulling in her victim.
He wanted more. Craving you in a way that made his mouth water for you.

“Chris!” Robert intervened. He pulled on Chris’ arm.

“Okay, I’m coming.” He exclaimed, taking one last glance at you before making his way to the stage.

Y/F/N reached for your hand and squeezed. “They invited us out again tomorrow night. Can you believe that?!” She squealed. “Our favorite actors from our favorite movie, wants to hang out with us!”

You just nodded, not able to focus on anything but the kiss you had with Chris. You grazed your fingertips over your lips, still able to feel him on you.

He turned on his heels, toward the mic. Scanning the tiny bar for you. And as he finally met your gaze, he felt at ease. Flashing you a smile.

This was a night you will always remember.

Comic Con - Robbie Kay Imagine

Rating: G

Warning:  As fluffy as teddy bear!

Summary: You and Robbie are answering questions at Comic Con!

Word Count: 822

Notes: (Y/f/n) means your full name.

“And presenting (Y/f/n)!”

The crowd roared for you. You stepped out smiling and waving to the crowd and sat down next to your co-star, Robbie Kay. Ever since you got cast into Once Upon a Time, your entire life changed. You moved to Hollywood. You got more acting jobs, and you, most importantly, you met Robbie Kay.

“So, to get things started, let’s pick on the new kid of the cast.”
Everyone looked at you. You laughed and stated, “I love being the new girl here!”

Yvette asked, “(Y/n), your character is one of the fan favorites this season. We’ve seen so many sides of Willa Wonka. I think we all wanna know what exactly does Willa to keep going?”

Robbie joked, “Me, of course.”

The audience cheered.

You laughed. You playfully slapped Robbie on the shoulder. When the crowd calmed down, you answered, “Well, what I love about my character is that she, although immortal, is not out for herself. Willa has had so much death in her life with her parents, her fiance, and even thought that Peter, her true love, was dead. This propels her to fight for the lives of the ones she loves. Is Peter one of those people?” You smiled. “Most definitely.”

The fans shouted again.

You giggled. “But, she is still mad at Peter for many reasons. I mean, he did try killing Rumple, who is practically family to her. She also hates Zelena, who wouldn’t be in town without the curse he cast. So she is still very livid. But, you know, we’ll see what happens next season.”

The host asked, “Does she even know that Peter is Rumple’s father?”

“Well,” you drawled, “I think yes. Willa’s an observant person. I think she figured it out long before Regina cast the curse.”

“And Robbie, what does Peter feel about the fact that Willa hates him and that she is alive?”

“You know, Peter right now is very conflicted. The reason he wanted immortality, at first, was to stay with Willa. Then, when he thought she died, his reasons changed. He started doing it for selfish reasons. Seeing Willa alive, he doesn’t know exactly what to do. On one hand, he wants to change and be good for her. He wants to be with her again. However, for so long, he has been selfish. It would be a hard habit to break. Peter still has a lot of hatred for Hook as well, so that also is a driving force to his anger. But, one thing’s for sure. He loves Willa.”

“Aww,” you commented. You scooted closer to Robbie. He wraps his arm around your shoulder and kisses your head.

The crowd went wild for the two of you.

Yvette yelled, “Ok! Ok! We get it! Because of that little gesture, I wanna ask the question that’s on all of our minds. Robbie, (Y/n), are you dating?”

The two of you jolted and immediately protested. “No, no. Robbie and I are friends.”

“Just friends,” Robbie supported.

Yvette hummed, “Mhmm. Ok. Robbie, what do you think of (Y/n)?”

Robbie’s cheeks grew red and he scratched the back of his neck. “Well, she’s an amazing actress, really good friend.”

“So, you like her?”

“Well, of course, I like her. She’s my best friend on set.” Robbie laughed, trying to get off the topic. “I’m really proud of her. She’s getting more jigs and-”

“(Y/n), what do you think of Robbie?”

You blushed. “I mean, he’s my best friend here. He’s very nice and helps me with lines. I couldn’t be a good actress without him. I wouldn’t have gotten that part as-”

“So, only on set, hm?” Yvette continued.

“Of course not!” the two of you shouted.

Robbie clarified, “We hang out, you know, after. But not like on a date or anything.”

“Yeah,” you added. “We go to coffee shops, to the forests sometimes. But we are just friends.”

“Just friends,” Robbie said again. “If we are talking about real-life ships, why don’t we talk about Colifer!”

The crowd cheered again. You high-fived Robbie and smiled throughout the entire interview.

After the final questions, you were dismissed. Robbie pulled you backstage and kissed you, short and sweet. You pulled away and laughed.

Robbie kept his arms around you. He smiled down at you. He kissed you on the forehead. “That was a close one,” he commented.

“You don’t think our agents will get mad?”

He shrugged. “They’re fans. They’ll do what they want. But, I do admit that they have great observation skills.”

You beamed. “Well, Robbie, we need to go and sign some autographs.”

“Right.” He released you from his grip and bowed like a gentleman. “After you, Lady Willa Wonka.”

You shook your head. You curtsied. “Thank you, Sir Peter Pan.”

Yeah, you two would never have a normal relationship, but you wouldn’t have it any other way.

The idea of Willa Wonka comes from the musical, Willy Wonka Jr., a play I once was in. The lead was a girl, inspiring me to write a fanfic (I never finished) about a Willa Wonka in the Once universe. Anyway, that’s where the idea of you playing Willa Wonka comes from!

By the way, I have no requests! Please send some in! I don’t bite!

Meeting Gillian Anderson at Boston Comic Con!

I’ve been wanting to write this all down…mainly to remember, but also incase you guys want to hear a cute little Gillian story!

I was (thankfully) joined by my buddy Reed, and we noticed when we first walked in that people were already lining up at Gillian’s booth for autographs. We picked up some photos for her to sign (she ended up having some at her table anyways but oh well 😋 ). We waited in line for the next 45 minutes, and I will spare you the details about it being cash only and my sprint to the ATM last minute where I probably knocked some people over and ran faster than I ever have in my entire life lolol.

At around 10:45 or so, Gillian came out looking cute as ever, and man, I have never in my life felt more like I was going to pass out; pretty much everything that you can do to further your chances of fainting I had done, and then add Gillian to that like…I was not okay.

But somehow I stayed conscious enough to make it to the front of the line (we were near the middle) and Reed went first (because I made him lol). He chose a picture of Scully with Skinner when he had the virus and he was not looking too hot, so when she went to sign it she was like “Is that Skinner?! What happened to him?!” and we were just all cracking up. She asked what episode it was in but yo I can’t remember who I even am let alone that episode, and either could Reed so we all just kept laughing. Then Reed mentioned that we had gone to see her in Streetcar a couple of months ago, and she said that it was funny because only one person on Saturday had seen it, but almost everyone in line ahead of us had said that they had gone too. Reed joked and said “Yeah, that’s because we all planned it,” and she was like “You all know each other?” and he was like “Yeah, all of us!” and gestured to the rest of the line 😆  I’m not sure if she caught on that he was joking, which was adorable (also, the way he said it was super light-hearted and silly which may not read that way through text I’m realizing as I’m typing it now…but it was a cute/funny little interaction).

Then it was my turn; I had made her a paper-cut of a koi fish and lotus blossom (I’ll put the picture down below) and was planning to give it to her (if I could function). I first handed her the picture to sign, and then was like “Oh yeah, also, I made you this…” and handed her the koi cut-out. She looked at it and was like “What do you mean you made me this?!” and I’m just standing there smiling like a loser. She kept looking at it, and said that it was so sweet of me to make and that she loved it (and something about a koi? It being cute or little or beautiful? Or all the above? I was dead by then sorry lol). After finally putting it down, she said that it reminded her of something her daughter would make since she’s an artist, and that she just got commissioned to do a dog picture on Instagram and how great and cool that was (I agreed). I think then she realized she still didn’t sign my picture so she grabbed a sharpie (she took a minute to choose what color she wanted to use which was also adorable), and was like “Okay…Meeka?” and I’m like “Mike-uh” and she’s like “Oh! Like the mineral?” and I was like “Yeah! but with an h at the end!” (but like maybe I whispered that last part? lol). After she signed, she stuck out her hand for me to shake and I was like damnnn cause this boy has sweaty hands 24/7, so you can only imagine the state they were in at that point…so unfortunately, I paid more attention to being mortified by that and how gross it probably was than the fact that I was shaking hands with GILLIAN FUCKING ANDERSON. She ended up spelling my name wrong (Micha instead of Micah, but I give ZERO FUCKS), but her message was so cute! It was “Better than Magnetite! So nice to meet you!,” and if you know me, you know my love for crystals/stones/minerals/etc, so the fact that she referenced this made my life.

After that, we grabbed some food and pretty much went right to Photo-Ops, and who walks in basically right in front of us? Yes. GILLIAN. Reed decides this is the perfect time to throw out his can though so we didn’t get to walk near her but maybe that was for the best lol. Anyways, so this time I went first, and went over to her, said hi, and she was like “Hey! Oh! Meeka!” and I was like “Micah” and she was like “Ahhh crap! I’m so sorry!” and just threw her hands up all cute and stuff, and the people behind Reed were like “What did you do stalk her??” (aka how does she know your name?? But I think they didn’t know she did a signing earlier) so I was super embarrassed by this statement cause…I know I’m a little obsessed dork, but no thanks to the stalker thing. But of course Gillian didn’t seem to give any fucks about that statement and just kept saying sorry for messing up my name and in my head I’m like you could literally call me trash and I would give zero fucks lmao but outwardly I just kept awkwardly laughing and saying “it’s fine! no worries!” (Also, can I just say, like yo fam, I don’t correct the fucking Starbucks lady and just accept her calling me “Meeka” but I correct Gillian Anderson??? Am I okay??)
So I end up looking like a complete dork in my picture (also, the sweat is REAL people…but luckily easily cropped out…and I’m a graphic designer so I can also photoshop that shit thank the lord) and when the picture was over I just awkwardly stood there for a minute smiling at her BEAUTIFUL FACE until she was like “I’m sorry again [about your name]” and I snapped out of it and was like “It’s okay! Don’t worry!” as I walked out. Luckily Reed was after me so it wasn’t the most awkward moment in the world, and after he told me that he said to her “It was a good attempt!” and she laughed.

After that was her panel, and she was hilarious and adorable as always! Some of the questions were cringe-worthy from the moderator, but her reactions were great. (Also I think I was sitting next to @sewenteensir?? Which was cool, but I’m awkward for life so…oh well lol).

Then Reed and I actually walked around the convention center, but at that point I was pretty drained. Gillian did two more signings, that sweet little angel! I have nooooo idea how she was functioning after that long day, and I was tempted to get in line again…but I had such an amazing day and was so thankful for my interactions with her, that it was just silly and really would benefit no one at that point to get in line again.
By the time I got home I pretty much crashed, but again, what an amazing day! Gillian is the sweetest, and she kept cracking me up! Even though she is amazing, talented, and beautiful, she makes it so easy to interact with her as a human being. Even watching her interact with other people in front of me; she took the time and attention to look at and talk to each person. I appreciate that so much about her, and I am so happy she ended up coming to Boston!

^The Koi fish I made her, hand-cut out of paper! (Wrapped safely in a sandwich bag hellll yeahhhh classy AF)

i magine that tsukki and iwaizumi arnt as into doing the do as oikawa and yamaguchi are so like when tsukki isnt feeling up to it iwa joins tsukki on the couch to watch movies wile their boyfriends do the do in the room. iwa and tsukki bond over jeff goldblum movies cuz well jurassic park and wat not and like yeah those two just bonding over old movies and what not.

We couldnt be happier

Request: Hi! Can you do an imagine where the reader is an actress and she plays Goldilocks (from the story Goldilocks And The Three Bears) on the TV series Once Upon A Time, and she recently got engaged to Grant Gustin (who plays Barry Allen on the TV series The Flash) and at the Once Upon A Time Comic Con panel, the cast talks about how happy they are for her and Grant, and Grant randomly shows up at the panel?

Warnings: None

Authors note: I’m really sorry if I got any of this wrong I don’t watch once upon a time.

I couldn’t help but smile as I looked down at my hand. The blue diamond sparkled as the sunlight hit it.As I smiled at the silver ring that snuggly fitted on my finger I couldn’t help but think of Grant.I remember the first time I met him, it was here at comic con.It was a few months before The flash was due to air on tv so Grant and the team wasn’t so well known. He had tried to get into an after party but the security didn’t know who he was but I so how found some unknown confidence and let them in and we hit it off.I was never the type to be so confident but even from day one Grant brought that side out of me.The side who was so hard to find.I remember how long it took me to finally go for the part in Once Upon A Time.It took me months to finally go for it.It turned out to be one of the best desitions of my life because of this show I found amazing friends in the cast.I had amazing fans and the best thing of it all it was the reason I met Grant Gustin.

“Y/n”The sound of my name shook me from my thoughts.I looked at suddenly remembering I was with the rest of the cast at the comic con panel.

“Sorry, I was miles away” I apologized but I really could get Grant of my mind.Ever since we got engaged he was all I thought about.

“Thinking about Grant I suspect” lana joked.Out of all of the cast, I was closest to her.I was so nervous when I got the part of goldilocks but she took me under her wing and really went out of her way to make me feel at home. She showed me all the little tricks I needed and I was eternally grateful.

“Oh yes, you got recently engaged to Grant Gustin who plays Barry Allen in CWs The flash.Congratulations”The interview said as the crowd clapped and wooed.I couldn’t help but smile.

“Thank you” I beamed.

“So how did he ask you?”The tall blonde interviewer named Freya asked.

“Oh here we go” Colin o'donoghue laughed I rolled my eyes but laughed as well.I remember telling them all the day after it happened. The whole crew erupted in cheers and congratulations.I couldn’t ask for a better crew.

“He hired out a restaurant”I began smiling as I remember that night. “We had a lovely dinner talking about our day the past few years together but then ever so conveniently our song started to play. Then he got down on one knee and well the rest is obvious”I smiled.Tears started to form as I remember that night that was just a few weeks ago.I remember every detail from the color of the roses to the way his eyes sparkled.I was truly happy.

“aww,”Jennifer Morrison said into the mic.

“What do you guys think of Grant?”The interviewer asked.I was really interested in here this its something I had never really heard.

“I hate him”Jamie Dornan laughed.”No really he’s a great guy I couldn’t be happier for these too.As a cast, we are alway protective of each other but there’s no need for us to be protective of y/n grant is perfect for her.”Jamie was right.I remember the first time I brought him to meet the cast it was more nerve racking than him going to meet my parents. At times, it was more of an interview.Jamie was always the more protective one has always treated me as a little sister.

“yeah, I think I speak on behalf of the whole crew when I say how happy we are for the pair.I have never seen y/n so happy. It’s such a delight to see her this happy.”Meghan ory smiled. It was really nice to hear how happy they were for us.It meant so much that they were happy for us it really did.

“It means so much that these guys like him they really are part of my family”I confessed. It had been a bit of a hard couple of days I had not seen Grant for over a week but he was driving at comic con tonight and I was so excited. It has its pros and cons of us both being in the same industry.Due to filming, it was some times hard to spend time with each other but we managed it.The rest of the panel continued and I started to drift off into my own little world thinking about silly things like the wedding wat we were going to have for dinner tonight. It wasn’t until the crowd erupted with screams until I was shaken out of my thoughts.

“Looks like we have a little celebrity joining to watch” Freya laughed. The whole cast stood  up to see.My stomach instantly had butterflies as soon as I saw him.My eyes started to fill with tears.

“Grant” I shouted as I jumped out my seat and ran over to him.His smile widened as he saw me.His arms wrapped around me and my head nuzzled into his neck.

“Hello,” He whispered as we stood to hug.The whole crowed erupted in a mixture of awe and screams.

Since it’s Thanksgiving day in Canada, I’m going to write a post about one thing I’m thankful for and that was getting to experience New York Comic Con. (Yes, I blocked my face because I’m an insecure hoe and felt I looked too tired and worn out so I’m protecting your eyes from witnessing it)

The panel was great!  I got 3rd row, right directly in front of Natlise, ready to be that bitch who uploads the whole panel of just their face ~~for notes~~ but I forgot to format my camera so I only got 12 min but in the end, I still really go to enjoy it.  I even got to sprint my ass towards the mic so I can ask them a question (I was the 2nd person asking about Hollstein attending comic con)!  I’m super terrible with eye contact so when I asked the question, I didn’t even want to look at them lmao.  When the Carmilla movie trailer came out, I was really glad I went to the bathroom earlier because Carmilla riding on a motorcycle made me want to ********** ** ***** ** ******** with no shame (actually a lot of shame).  They actually gave us some news and the panel wasn’t boring! *coughs* FanExpo was boring *coughs*  I honestly was shaking from the news we got because I was so ready to say goodbye to Carmilla and even had my goodbye post on queue.  But somehow, I had a feeling that it wasn’t the end.

Autograph signing there was the best experience I ever received *coughs* FanExpo sucked *coughs.*  I waited in line with wonderful, cool, and funny people @tiny-creampuff @mycocoa and @the-lunar-lorkhan.  I almost cried multiple times in line with how emotional I was.  I’m glad I recognized them from tumblr!  XD

After 1.5-2 hours of waiting in line I was surprised someone was there to take a picture for us! *coughs* FanExpo didn’t *coughs*  I gave Natasha and Elise the pins I made for them and Natasha screamed and it’s like the cutest thing ever.  And then she didn’t stop LMAO she was honestly like a happy puppy jumping around, so I just continued to talk to Elise which you can read about (here).  I looked at the box of tampons and I was like “not you again” (I have like 3 signed boxes of tampons already) so I was like “Elise, you don’t have to sign this” and I don’t think she heard because she took it from my hands and proceeded to sign it.  Idek what Natasha was doing because I gave her some space to appreciate my gift LMAO but she’s just smiling and signing like she wasn’t even aware of what she was doing (must be really tired aww).  I also apologized to Elise that my letter ended up being too long and she said “Don’t worry, I’ll definitely read it all!” and like I actually really didn’t want her too.  I only wrote those letters to Natasha and Elise so that my pins have something to be placed on LMAO.  Then I said thank you, and they said thank for the gift and I went on to the next. (lmao I wanted to talk to Natasha but it’s all good~ I feel super comfortable talking to Elise)  Lowkey regret my letter to Natasha because it talked about how “now that Carmilla is ending *enter sappy shit here*….” etc. well, it’s not ending yet so my letter was pointless XD /:

Ooops, I literally skipped Jordan and headed straight for Steph (WHO LOOKED SMOKIN’ BY THE WAY.  I REGRET NOT TELLING HER THAT.  LIKE LOOK HOW PRETTY SHE IS IN THE BACKGROUND OF THE PICTURE) and she recognized me, due to my unfortunate and infamous post of shitting on “unexpected Carmilla news” ):  Told her thanks for her advice that she gave me, hugged her, and chatted a bit more.

IT FELT SO GREAT NOT BEING RUSHED TO TALK TO YOUR FAV PEOPLE.  IT FELT SO SPECIAL EVEN IF I WAS ONLY JUST 1 OUT OF PROBABLY 200-300 PEOPLE THERE!  Like 1 min isn’t even that long, but that’s all I needed for a memorable moment with them.  Anyways, I ended up just chilling out with Courtney (@tiny-creampuff), Amy (@mycocoa ), Weston (@the-lunar-lorkhan), and Aracelli  (@gagasunicorn5) after and ate, talked about our meeting with natlise, laughed, and cried.  I hope to meet you all again!

And tsk tsk to all the messages I got saying you saw me and didn’t say “Hi” ):  I’m a very nice person and would’ve loved to meet you anons XD  As much as I loved seeing more Carmilla news and meeting Natlise, my fav part of every event/convention is getting to meet other fans and making more friends :3 <3  I hope there’s more to come.

suicide squad review

so i just got back from suicide squad and wanted to fire off a quick review where i’ll just be listing the pros and cons of the movie rather than saying whether it was straight up good or bad or not because it was a very multifaceted movie. ngl, it was a hot mess and i’ll get into that in my cons but it had redeeming qualities that saved it from being “disastrous” as many critics have branded it. my advice is: whatever you think this movie is going to be, forget about it. it’s most likely not what you imagined on in your head and that took me by surprise big time in the first half an hour or so.

rating: if anything below a five is bad, and anything above good i would give this movie a 6/7 out of 10. it had it’s issues but overall i was entertained and if anything it left me wanting a follow-up.

okay now for the pros and cons (slightly heavy spoilers.)

May I tell you about the time I spent almost an entire day with Benedict Cumberbatch? I’m going to anyway.

(Though I do apologise for how long it is…I’m just happy that I can finally tell the whole story, and I felt Tumblr was the place to do it :P)

I was working as a volunteer at Comic-Con here in Adelaide, and I never thought things would work out the way they did. I got there early. I was assigned to work on the autograph queues, and then I was picked as part of a small group to look after Benedict’s line, and then they put me next to his table.
Bang. Bang. Bang.

Basically, I felt as though I had downed an entire bottle of Felix Felicis.

Hundreds of people were lining up and my group had to try and contain the madness before he arrived. We were not prepared for the amount of crazy that was in that crowd! (BTW If you were one of those who thanked me and apologised for the angry people around you, you have my eternal  and undying love.)

All of a sudden he appears from behind a curtain and people LOSE THEIR MINDS. Girls start sobbing, screaming, hyperventilating etc. (We, of course, had to be professional, but I was silently going crazy, too, because HOLY MOTHER OF FUCK HE WAS THIRTY CENTIMETRES AWAY FROM ME)

Anyway, the first autograph block went by smoothly, then he went to the photo area. I’m totally not ashamed of the fact that I got to cut in front of the line to get my photo (volunteer privileges, fuck yeah!) As anyone who has been to a convention knows, you have all of fifteen seconds to say hi and take the photo.

I rushed in and shook his hand, “Hi Benedict, it’s so great to meet you… Glad to see you haven’t passed out yet!”

Don’t ask why I said that.

He laughed though, (hence his expression in the photo) and said he was hanging in there. I said “See you back at the autograph table,” before I left and he suddenly held out his hand. “Oh my God, yeah, thank you so much for looking after all of that!”

Cue uncontrollable giggles and almost tripping over on the way out.

About forty minutes into the next block of autographs, he started apologising to fans about his voice getting croaky, and then he caught my eye so I told him it wasn’t too bad because he sounded like Hannibal Lecter. (Hopkins, not Mikkelsen)

This was his reply: “Really? Mmm, I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.”

Not. Even. Joking. I was almost crying with laughter. “That. Was. Amazing. Do another one.” I gushed. Can’t remember the other quotes he said but it was fucking hilarious.

A couple of hours later he returned for the last autograph block, and he was about twenty minutes late. When he finally rushed back to the table, I exclaimed, “He’s alive!” (internal facepalm) and he burst out laughing before replying “Yep, still here.”

He stayed about an hour later than he was supposed to, because there were so many people who still waiting for their autographs. We were all exhausted because we had been on our feet all day, and we were the last group of volunteers to hang around because the others had finished for the day.

He kept thanking us over and over. “You guys are the best, seriously. Thank you so much. You’re my “Cumber-Team!”

“Oh my God, did you really just say that?”

“Yes. Yes I did.”

He wanted to write “Cumber-Team 2014” on our shirts but our supervisor wouldn’t allow it.

The next day I was placed in a completely different section of the convention, which I was pretty pissed off about, not gonna lie. I got over it eventually, though, because I had such an amazing time the day before. I saw Benedict once more, at the very end of the day as I was leaving, and he strolled out of the other building after finishing his final panel. I spoke quickly as I walked past, because his security guards weren’t letting him stop and talk to fans. “Hi Benedict, it was great to meet you yesterday!”

He smiled and waved, “Nice to meet you as well! Thanks so much for your help, seeya.”

That weekend was so important to me, even more so now that I’m looking back, because it happened right in the middle of one of the most difficult times in my life. My depression was bad. I was so unhappy at home and at uni, and I had retreated so far back from everyone and everything that I loved because nothing was making me feel good anymore. So after this happened, I woke up on the Monday morning feeling happy & grateful, I had made some new friends, and I had rediscovered why I love the things that I love. Obviously I’ve had more rough patches since then, but I just think back to those moments and remember how it helped bring me out the cave I had put myself in. If I ever get the chance to meet Benedict again, I’ll make sure to tell him exactly that, and to thank him properly.

If you read the whole thing, thank you, and hopefully I didn’t bore the crap out of you.

Dean Oneshot: Me Too

So this one ended up being a whole lot longer than I expected, and I have no idea what comic-con is like, but I hope you like it!

Me Too

Dean slammed his fist down on the table in frustration. “There is literally no connection at all! How the hell are we supposed to find the damn thing if there’s no damn pattern to where he’s going?” he shouted.

Sam looked unimpressed with Dean’s outburst, offering a high-powered bitchface that was still impressive to you even after years of running with the Winchesters. “Dean, there’s got to be one, we’re just not seeing it. Take a break and cool off. We gotta find this thing.” he said.

You grinned at how easily Sam could read Dean. It was always amusing to you to see how well they knew each other; their brotherly bond was impressive. “Sam, what are the cities again?” you asked.

“Orlando, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, New York, and for some reason Phoenix.” he recited. “I don’t know if that’s the order, but Phoenix was definitely the last place.” he said.

You scrolled through the tabs on your laptop, half thinking about the case, and half thinking about finding a way to delay the hunt just enough to get to the last day of Comic-con in Phoenix. Suddenly, it clicked. “Guys. I’ve got the connection!” you cried.

Dean looked up from where he was sitting and staring frustratedly at the floor. “How?” he asked.

“Well,” you said. “I’ve been thinking about comic-con and how we’ve been missing it by just a little bit! All of our hunts tracking this guy have been taking us to cities where there are comic-cons, but he always moves on before we get him so we can never go. So, I think that the shifter is picking off people at comic-cons!” you finished, proud of your deductions.
