"Ah, well, one day at a time, right? And you're totally allowed to have your own preferences when it comes to holidays. c: Gah, now I wish we had some mochi ice cream... Anyway, how've you been otherwise? Busy getting ready for this semester?"
Rhys: “Yeah - I don’t have classes any more, since this is postgrad for me. But our team is working on some more ‘exotic’ prosthetics this semester, for monsters that have missing limbs other than hands or legs… ”
Caddy: “Exotic? Well, the first thing that comes to mind for me I guess is a prehensile tail or, heh, tentacle… but there’s others, right?
Rhys: “Yep! Some of us are working on a waterproof ‘fish tail’ for disabled aquatic monsters, and my personal project - though it’s a long way from protyping - is an artificial antenna.”
Caddy: “You mean like for insectoids?”
Rhys: “Exactly! Losing one in an accident, or being born with them missing, is like being blind or deaf - but the way they connect to their magic is actually a lot like a limb. So there’s a lot of potential for restoring those lost senses!”
