141213 ‘Super Junior’ Sungmin Ties the Knot and Sings the Celebratory Song for Kim Sa-eun:
‘Super Junior’ has just become the first married man among the current male boy-band members.
Sungmin tied the knot with singer-musical actress Kim Sa-eun at The Raum located in Yeoksamdong, Seoul at 6 pm on December 13. Yoo Joon-sang hosted the wedding ceremony and approximately 600 guests attended the event including Sungmin’s families, ‘Super Junior’ members, ‘SISTAR’ Bora, ‘f(x)’ Victoria and Amber, ‘Tiny-G’ Do Hee, Kang Ta, Hong Kyung-min and Hong Rok-gi.
The wedding ceremony kicked off with an opening video which was edited by Shin Dong. The ceremony continued with wedding vows, marriage declaration, congratulatory message, celebratory songs and parents’ greeting. Each wedding program was beautiful which reminded a musical.
Sungmin entered the ceremonial hall with shy smile. When Yoo Joon-sang asked him about how he feels, he loudly answered “I’m happy” and received a round of applause from the guests. Kim Sa-eun showed off her gorgeous looks with her simple and neat dress.
When the bride and groom held their hands together, the first celebratory song started on the second floor balcony. Popular musical actor Brad Little announced the wedding ceremony with the song ‘This is the moment’.
The bride and groom made wedding vows which read “We will express our love to each other, and always love each other” and “I’ll trust and respect my husband in any circumstances”. After the vows, musical actress Kim Ah-sun walked down the virgin road while singing a beautiful serenade to bring the ring to the couple. The bride and groom exchanged their rings.
The main celebratory song was performed by Musical actors Lee Gun-myung and Seo Ji-young and finally ‘Super Junior’ Ryeowook. Ryeowook said “It is a burden to sing a celebratory song after three musical actors have done the stage. I hope you have a great life and not make a family jar” and sang a sentimental ballad.
At the ending portion of the song, Sungmin took over Ryeowook’s song and surprised the bride. Kim Sa-eun covered her face with a bouquet and shed tears. He knelt down on his knees and handed over a flower bouquet.
Before the last march, Yoo Joon-sang requested Sungmin “To apologize people for getting married so early, why don’t you dance ‘Sorry Sorry’ without the background music?” It was an awkward situation, but Sungmin finished the mission without any trouble.
Sungmin and Sae-eun changed their dresses to more fancy ones for the second part of the wedding ceremony. K-pop singers sent congratulatory messages through video which included 2PM, VIXX, TVXQ, Rainbow, B2ST, SISTAR, Apink, Ailee, EXO, ZE:A and Bigflo.
At last, the bride and groom held their hands together and played a scene from a musical <Three Musketeers>, which allowed the two to tie the knot.
Meanwhile, Sungmin and Kim Sa-eun first met through a musical <Three Musketeers> last year. The two dated for a year and finally got married, breaking idol singer’s taboo. The two left to Maldives for honeymoon and the newlyweds set up their home in Songpa where Kim Sa-eun was raised.
Sungmin wrote a letter to his fans on his blog after deciding to marry Kim Sa-Eun.
On October 14, Sungmin released the letter, titled “To Everyone who let me be who I am”, on SM Entertainment’s official website and his own blog.
Sungmin said, “I thought dozens of times about how I can start this letter and what to say first. I will get married with a special person on December 13.”

< The following is Sungmin’s letter >
To Everyone who let me be who I am. <Dear. E.L.F>
Hello, this is Sungmin.
I thought dozens of times about how I can start this letter and what to say first.
As I was writing and erasing the letter multiple times, it reminded me of the people who helped me a lot and their faces and voices…
I am writing this letter with a heavy and cautious heart.
I will get married with a special person on December 13.
It breaks my heart when I think of the fans who must be so surprised and embarrassed by the news. I am really sorry for making you hear it from reports.
I was worried about how I can tell E.L.F, my best friend who has loved me so much, about this because I wished they would be the first to hear the news from me. I am really sorry for making you hear it from a news report.
I spent much time struggling and thinking alone about my decision and the people I have been with… It was not because of the fear for my own decision but because I was afraid that my precious people would be so surprised as they have never experienced this kind of thing before and get hurt so much. It may seem late, but your love and trust for me helped me to gather the courage to tell you about my future plan.
I was nothing before I met you and you helped me to grow so much by always standing by my side and caring and supporting. I really appreciate your love and I love you so much.
I really appreciate all the people who have helped me and Super Junior members and the agency who respect my decision and have trust in me. I will do my best to keep performing and return your love.
