yeah most beautiful smiles

It was the first week of college, the first English class. Dean was sitting pretty much in the middle of the big classroom. Professor Mills was keeping a name call in front of the class.

“Charlie Bradbury?”

“Here!”

“Benny Lafitte?”

“Present!”

“Castiel Winchester?”

Silence. Professor Mills looked up from the name list she was going through.

Caroline- Auston Matthews

Part: 1 (pt 2 is up now!!)

A/N: This was so fun to write! I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Caroline;

“You ready to go?” My sister, Lily asks
“Yeah just give me a sec.” I nod, shoving the last picture from my wall into a box.
I grabbed my backpack that I’d be leaving in the passenger seat of my car.
“I’m gonna miss you” my brother Grayson hugged me
“I’ll miss all of you. Especially you” I hug the youngest member of our family, Parker.
We have a complicated back story. I was adopted as a baby. We have a very big, multiracial family.  I have 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Grayson is 16, Lily is 14, Jayda is 13, Luke is 9, Quinn is 7, Spencer is 5 and Parker is 3.
“Carlie, you need to bring a cute boy home by Christmas” Jayda grins
“Leave her alone” my dad rolls his eyes
“I don’t want you to leave” Luke looks at me with sad eyes
“I’ll be back soon” I smile sadly at him
“Sent me a postcard.” Quinn smiles
“Call as soon as you get there” my mom responds, teary eyed. My dad kisses her temple, trying to soothe her.
“I will, but you have to come visit me. Just not all at once, there’s only 2 bedrooms.” I say, causing them to laugh
Hugs went all around as we stood in the living room, saying our goodbyes as I headed off to college. I loved my family but I was so ready to get away. To live on my own. To not wake up to screaming kids every Saturday morning .
I got in my car and set the gps to my new apartment in Toronto. Audios Cleveland, hello Toronto!

The drive was long and exhausting but I made it. I freaking made it! I’m here! In Toronto. I took a minute in my car to collect myself and take it all in. Once I had done that I grabbed my book bag that had the letter for me to get the key to my apartment. I grabbed my car keys and headed to the front desk. I didn’t want to live on campus because of the many rules so I found an apartment off campus that was within 5 miles of the school.
“Hi, can I get the key to apartment 8B? For Caroline Porter” I ask the receptionist
“Sure thing.” she smiles and hands me an envelope. I smiled and took the envelope, climbing the set of stairs to get to my apartment. There was an elevator but there was a long line for that so I opted for the longer route. I walked up the stairs, seeing two shirtless, good looking boys running down the hallway. The larger one carrying an iPhone above his head, away from the grasp of the smaller one.
“Ok” I mumble and find my apartment. This is it. This is my new home. I speedily shoved the key in the door and opened it. I loved it. I set my backpack down and set the keys on the counter, closing the door behind me. The apartment was fully furnished with a sleek white and grey theme. I had a while to set everything up as school didnt start until early September and it was currently mid-June. 12th of June to be exact, I couldn’t forget the date I got to leave home. My mom wanted me to stay for the rest of summer but I convinced her to let me leave early so that I could get used to the city and furnish the apartment. It was going to be a lot of work but I was excited. I was ready for this challenge.

It’s was six o'clock as I sat on the blanket I had layed put in the living room. I had no wifi or tv so I really didn’t have much to do. I decided to go get some food. I drove to Walmart with the low humming of Brett Eldridge playing on the radio. When I arrived, I grabbed my wallet, keys and phone. I walked in, wandering the aisles with my cart. I found some groceries but decided against buying them yet. I’d get food for tonight and then go out again tomorrow morning. So I just grabbed some Oreos and Arizona tea in the grocery section. I picked up a white duvet as well as some cute little frames. I threw them into my cart, heading to look for pillows. I got a nice one that I could sleep with and then I ended up grabbing a few throw pillows. As I walked through the aisles, gazing at different items, my cart bumped into another one. The boy behind it looked.
“Hi, my name is Auston. You live in my building right?” The most familiar and beautiful boy looks up at me.
“Yeah” I smile warmly.
“College student?” He asks
“Yep.” I mod.
“Cool. Where do you go?”
“I’m starting at U of T in September”
“That’s cool. What are you majoring in?” He asks, scanning the rest of my pillows
“Education but I want to go back later in life to do urban design. I know, very diffrent careers.” I laugh lightly at his reaction.
“Those are some pretty different options. See you around.” He nods.

I threw the bags from target on the floor of the kitchen and sat back on the couch.. I opened my Raman noodles and put the soy sauce on them. Than I started to eat my rice and won tons while the soy sauce was absorbing into the noodles.
“This is amazing.” I mumbled, chowing down on the food. I suddenly heard a knock on the door. That’s weird. I grabbed the phone just in case and walked to the door.
“Hi, I’m Auston. We bumped into each other at Walmart. I live next door and my mom told me to bring you some cookies” the guy from Walmart greeted me
“Hi! I’m Caroline. And yes, I’m the girl from Walmart.” I laugh and open the door wider for him to enter which seems weird but he seems really friendly so I let him enter
“That’s a pretty name.” He smiles, laying the cookies on the counter
“You like it? You should hear my phone number” I smile, quoting Phoebe from Friends.
Friends fan. Nice. How’s your unpacking going?” He chuckles.
“It’s going…as good as it can considering I got here today.” I grinned, glancing towards the boxes on the floor.
“Cool. Well, I’m gonna get going. Enjoy the cookies. I’m to the left if you ever need anything.”  He smiles and walks back towards the door
“Thanks! See you later” I grin, closing the door behind me.
Well, that was cool. I thought laughing at his use of the word.

“Seán!!” You smiled once the green haired Irish boy appeared on your laptop screen.

“Hey miss little cuteness!” His grin grew wide, he was just utterly cute! “Damn, what’s happening? You seem bubbly and happy today.” *gif*

You giggled, “Yeah!” *gif*

“There’s that pretty smile on the most beautiful girl!”

“Oh my gosh, Jack, stop!” You covered your face as you felt your cheeks heating up.

“No, thank you. I think I’ll just sit here and adore you, baby.”

Request: I Will Always Protect You

Reuqest: I was wondering if you could write one where Sam and Dean see how much the reader and Castiel like each other, but won’t do anything about it. So they make plans to set them up and it ends with Cas and the reader cuddling and maybe he wraps his wings around her to keep her safe?

Word Count: 1,098

Here it is! Thank you so much, and I hope you enjoy it. Also, this is my first Cas imagine so…yeah. If it totally sucks I’m sorry. Thanks again!:)

“Hey, Cas.” You’re not even surprised by the flutter of wings as the angel pops into existence in your bedroom.

“Y/N.” He greets you, and you turn around and smile as you secure the tie at the end of your braid.

“How’s heaven?” It’s something you’ve always asked, and it genuinely interests you. Instead of a happy answer about its glory, today, you merely get,

“In a frustrating state of disarray.”

“Oh. That’s not good.” You say sympathetically. You touch his shoulder affectionately.

He smiles at you. Maybe you harbor some feelings for the angel, but what can you do? Is that even allowed? He’s probably totally oblivious.

“No, it isn’t.” He nods as you open the door. You debate keeping him here alone for a while, but you honestly have no clue what to say or do. “We’re nearing civil war.”

“What? Really?” You’re somewhat shocked by that. The door swings shut as you let go of it, turning back to the angel.

“Yes.” He goes on to outline the whole situation with Raphael and the whole ‘ruling heaven’ objective. You listen interestedly.  Angels and angel culture were extremely fascinating to you. You love learning about what they believe and what they do. Cas was always willing to teach you, which was maybe part of the reason you got on so well.

By the end of the ‘lesson’ you’re both sat on the bed, discussing heavenly politics interestedly. Once it seems that the discussion has come to a close, you stand up. You’ve moved pretty close to him, and you don’t want to make it awkward. He seems happier than he did when he originally came, which is good.

“I’m going to find a drink. Want to go see the guys?” You ask, and he nods.

“Alright.” He nods, standing up gracefully. Gracefully. Ha.

It’s not even that funny. You know what else isn’t funny? The fact that your door is locked.

You shake the door handle, and wiggle the lock. It’s not budging and you can’t pick it from this side.

“Guys?!” You call, banging on the door. “Little bit of help?”

You hear a snigger from the other side of the door, and you let out a groan.

“Cas? Any chance you can work your magic on the door?” You ask. He nods silently, and aims an  opened out hand at the lock.

“Nope.” Sam’s voice comes from the other side, muffled by the thick wood.  “We warded it. He can’t even teleport.”

“What the hell, you guys?” You say exasperatedly. “What do you want?”

“Nothing. Well…” Dean’s voice comes through. They’re always in it together, those two.

“What?”

“We can see how much you two like each other. It’s totally blatant and you’re stupid for not noticing yourselves.” Sam says. “So you’re not getting out until you’ve done something about it.”

“You know there’s a really lovely page on the internet, about how to set up two of your best friends.”

“Shut up and go canoodle!” Dean says, and you hear them both walk away laughing. You sigh, turning around and leaning against the door awkwardly.

“Hi.” You say, and he frowns.

“Haven’t we already greeted one another?” He asks.

“I guess. I was just…I didn’t know what to say.” You admit, going and sitting back down on the bed. He watches you closely.

“How would you define love?” He asks suddenly, still stood up and watching you with his crystalline blue eyes.

You frown, thinking for a moment. “Love is-it’s…” You falter, then run your hand through your hair and start again. “Love for a person is like…the biggest kind of emotion, I think. Think of two people being bonded, okay?”

He nods.

“Love is the strongest bond there is. It’s made up of a million different threads. Trust, for one. Passion, I guess. Attraction. Happiness. Commitment. You could name a thousand and there would still be more to use.”

He just stares at you in awe for a long, moment, before sitting on the bed close to you.

“Humans are like flames. Some are dim and flickering, barely there and certainly not emitting and decent kind of light.” He says, his eyes on you. “But you are the brightest and most beautiful flame I have ever met.”

A smile crosses your face. “Thank you, Cas. That really means a lot.”

Suddenly, one of your hands has been taken in both of yours. It feels like your heart is doing flips.

“You told me what love truly is, and now I can understand.” He pauses for a long time. “I’m in love with you.”

Your eyes widen as he squeezes your hand hopefully.

“I’m in love with you, too.” You whisper, and a huge smile crosses his face. He pulls you closer to him and crashes his lips into yours. You lean into the kiss, your other hand coming up to rest on his cheek. You realise his eyes are closed, and smile against the pressure of his lips.

You pull apart after a moment that feels like an eternity, staring into each other’s widened eyes. His pupils are blown and you presume yours are too.

There’s a huge shadow in the room. You instantly think demon, your head twisting to see it.

You’re wrong.

A pair of glossy, silky black wings are spread over the room. You stare at them in awe, then back to Cas.

“They’re incredible. Wow.” You whisper, and he smiles.

“You believe so?”

“Oh, yeah. They’re the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. Apart from you of course.” You smile. You reach a hand out. “May I?”

“Please, do.” He smiles, his hand resting on your waist. As your hand makes contact with the soft downy feathers, it’s like a spark of electricity runs up your arm.

“That’s incredible. Really. Wow.” You smile, stroking gently. “I can’t-woah. How can I see them now?”

“This has never happened to me before. I presume it is something to do with the fact that we just recognized romantic attachment.” He says, and you nod.

“It would make sense.”

You’re locked in the room all day. Apparently Sam and Dean went out, leaving you locked there. You don’t mind, though. You spend the whole time talking with Cas. He teaches you all about heaven and angels and you teach him more about humans.

At one point, you hear some strange noises outside. You’re worried, and he brushes you off by wrapping his wings around you protectively.

“Never fear, Y/N. I’ll always keep you safe.” He promises, pressing a kiss to your forehead.

“Attention shoppers, for the safety of your children and people around, please don’t let your children run around the store, thank you.” Looked at my coworker, Jackson as he grinned at a baby, waving at him and speaking to him as his mother looked through the clothes on the rack.

I saw two kids run past Jackson, seeing my manager, Jinyoung roll his eyes, knowing no one paid attention to his announcement. I turned back down to my pile of shirts and continued folding them, ignoring everything around me.

The job had it’s ups and downs, but since it was Saturday, there were a lot of people here shopping. I mean, who didn’t shop for clothes on a Saturday, especially when you work inside a mall. I had a lot to complain about working here. The people, the hours and especially the mess I always had to deal with. But as a broke college kid who was going into the medical field, I needed the job to help pay for my education.

But honestly, other than my coworkers being so nice to me and them feeling like my brothers, there was one other reason why I looked forward to working here. When I finished the last pile, looking at it satisfied before turning my gaze out to the people walking past.

My eyes locked with y/n and god did she look beautiful. She sat on the bench, her eyes glued to her phone before looking up and looking around her. She looked back down at her phone, reading something before typing away, going back to look around.

“BamBam, you finished?”

I turned to Jaebum who was hanging a sweater and huffed, pushing his hair back. “Yeah, just now. Want to help me with the sweaters over there?” I pointed to the ones by the entrance, Jaebum nodding and we went over, folding the different colored sweaters.

“Should we fix them from brightest to darkest?” Jaebum asked me, to which I nodded, my eyes still locked on y/n who looked like she sighed. My head snapped back to the sweaters when she looked over to the store. I concentrated on the sweaters, folding them in silence before sneaking a peak at the bench.

It was empty and I stopped folding, my eyes scanning as far as I could see to try and find you. “Excuse me?”

I jumped at the voice, turning to see you look at me with curious eyes. “Sorry, but I was wondering if I can have a look at that sweater you have in your hand?” I stood there in silence, nodding and handing it to you. “Thank you,” You smiled, you had the most beautiful smile.

“Yeah, no problem.” I smiled back, turning to the sweaters and seeing Jaebum smirking at me. I scowled at him, ignoring his chuckle as he continued folding the sweaters.

“Hey, y/n, what are you doing?” My head turned to see a friend of yours you always seemed to hang out with. She walked over to you, checking out the sweater you zipped up.

“Do you think this looks good on me?” You questioned, looking down at the sweater.

“Yeah, but come on, we have to get going.” Your friend urged you. You nodded, unzipping the sweater and turning it to me, smiling shyly. “I’ll come back for it, if it’s not too late.”

You handed the sweater back to me, our fingers brushing against each others as I took it back. “Yeah, I’m sure it would be.” I assured you, seeing you smile brighter at me.

“Stop flirting and come on!” Your friend pulled your arm gently, causing your face to redden as you followed her out of the store.

“I don’t get why you don’t ask her on a date already, she’s clearly into you and vice versa.”

“She’s not into me Jae, she’s just nice.” I rolled my eyes.

“Actually, she’s into you. She came in on Wednesday and wandered around the store looking for someone before Yugyeom asked if she needed help. She said she was just looking but it was pretty obvious she was looking for you.” I stared at Jackson as he hung up clothes, talking about it before he turned to me.

“Ask her out already.”

-

“Don’t tell me you’re closing.” I turned to see you walking up to Jinyoung and I, Jackson was busy on his phone and Jaebum had left earlier.

“Yeah, sorry. Did you need anything?” Jinyoung finished locking the door, turning to you. You looked into the store, shaking your head and smiling at us.

“No, just wanted to buy a sweater, but I’ll come back tomorrow for it.”

I watched as you turned to your friend, heading out when Jackson elbowed me, causing me to grunt at the pain.

“Go,” He whispered, making me roll my eyes and look at you.

“Hey, y/n?” I spoke up, walking over to you. You turned to me, giving me that curious look you have when something catches your attention.

“Yeah?”

I stopped in front of you, looking down at the bag in my hands before handing it to you. “Don’t worry about paying me back, it’s honestly okay.”

I watched as you took the bag from me, opening it and taking out the sweater you wanted. “You shouldn’t have,” You looked up at me. “Let me at least pay you half,”

“No, don’t worry about money. But if you want, you could go to a movie with me tomorrow night? We’ll call it even,”

I ignored your friend’s grin, the cheer from Jackson and the groan from Jinyoung. I only paid attention to the smile you gave me as you nodded.

“It’s a date then, BamBam.”

The Princess and the Smuggler - Ch. 4

Summary: Ben and his princess get adjusted to being new parents. Loving nothing more than spending time with their little daughter, Ben’s other princess. As they continue life on the base with their bundle of joy, the reality of being in the Resistance and being new parents hits hard.

A/N: Alright so since more was requested, this chapter’s gonna be some baby fluff and a little twist to start a new adventure. Cause it is called Star WARS after all. Sorry it’s a little long, but I promise it’s cause it gets good!

Ben stood in your tiny kitchenette area, holding your daughter in his arms. She was now 5 months old. Neither of you could believe just how fast she was growing, when it felt like only yesterday you brought her home. Her once fragile pink little frame was now a little (S/C) chubby frame. Though she was still little, and still ridiculously adorable as the first time you saw her. With the genetics she inherited too, you had to admit you had one cute baby.

As Ben held her close, he smiled down at her taking fistfuls of his shirt in her tiny hands. She leaned onto his shirt, opening her mouth only to let out a confused cooing noise. She looked up to Ben with her big bright (E/C) eyes.

“Dah!”

“Hi!”

She took a fistful of his shirt into her mouth leaving a spot of drool as she cooed again, furrowing her little brows at Ben.

“Bah bah dah!”

“Hey, you can’t eat daddy’s shirt,” he laughed.

She whimpered as she tried again, with no success she whimpered again and leaned her head onto his chest.

“Maa bah bah!”

“(Y/N), I think she’s looking for you, she keeps trying to grab at my chest. She’s also trying to eat my shirt.”

He heard you laugh from the other room as he bounced her in his arms to try and distract her.

“Just a sec!”

“I know you’re hungry princess, but daddy doesn’t have what you’re looking for.”

She took her little hand into a fist and lightly hit him in the chest as Ben pretended to be hurt. He bent his knees as if he was doubling over from the impact of her adorable punch.

“Ah! How did you get so strong?”

She giggled in excitement as she hit him again with her little fists.

Reunion Part One- Jack Johnson Imagine

A/N: This is going to be a TWO-PART Imagine because I really like this idea and couldn’t fit it into one part. Hope you enjoy!

“(y/n)!” Your mom shouted from the bottom of the stairs.

You made your way towards the top of the stairs and looked down at a very angry woman.

“What?” You asked.

“Is your room clean? The Johnson’s are going to be here any minute.”

You rolled your eyes at the mention of your mom’s best friend. She and her son, Jack were coming down to LA to look for apartments and your mom insisted they stayed at your house. Your mom has been best friends with Mrs. Johnson ever since they could talk and because of that, you lived in the same city as them; Omaha, up until you were 8years old when your dad received a job offer in LA.

“I can’t believe you insisted they stayed here.” You said, walking down the stairs, ignoring your mom’s question. If she really wanted to know if your room was clean, she could walk up the stairs and look for herself.

“She’s my best friend, (y/n). And if I remember correctly, you and Jack were good friends too.”

“Mom, seriously?” You looked at her, flabbergasted and thought about your friendship with Jack…if you could even call it that. “Jack was the weirdest kid in school. He ate glue, mom! He followed me around like a lost puppy and people started thinking I was weird!”

“People change, (y/n). I mean, look at you,” She said, starting to put dinner in the oven. “You’re not the little girl who drowns everything she eats in ketchup anymore.”

She had a point. When you were little, you would not eat a single thing unless there was ketchup involved and now, you can’t even stand the stuff. Maybe Jack had changed. Hopefully Jack had changed.

“Oh good,” Your mom said as the doorbell rang. “They’re here.”

You followed her to the door and watched the reunion take place. You couldn’t help but laugh at how excited they were to see each other. You looked over by the door and saw Jack.

“Sweet Mother of Jesus.” You whispered to yourself. Your mom was right. People change. And Jack had most definitely changed…for the better.

“it’s good to see you again, (y/n).” He said, with a smile; the most beautiful smile you’d ever seen.

“Yeah…” You said as you took in his beautiful face. “You too, Jack.”

“Show Jack where he’ll be staying, (y/n).” Your mom said, as she walked into the living room with Mrs. Johnson.

You smiled at Jack and led the way to your room. You were thankful you put away all the embarrassing photos and stuffed animals you had lying around.

“I cleaned out the closet…I don’t know how much stuff you brought or…” You said, struggling to make conversation.

“It’s great, thanks.” He said, smiling.

“Okay…” You said, walking towards the door. “I’ll leave you to get settled. Dinner should be ready in an hour.” You smiled and turned to leave the room but stopped when Jack spoke.

“You look good, (y/n). A hell of a lot better than you did when you were 8.”

You let out a smile and internally laughed at the fact that you were glad you looked better now than you did when you were 8. As if that was an insecurity you had. You hoped you looked better now.

“You too, Jack. You look really good.” You smiled at him before heading into the hallway and making your way towards your sister’s room; where you would be staying.

“Shit.” You said to yourself as you laid down on the bed. This was going to be an interesting couple of weeks.

Never Been Kissed

A/N I’m back! School was very hectic, so I’m sorry for not updating sooner. Enjoy!

“You what?!” Dean shouted with a shocked expression on his face. The class fell silent, watching them with curious eyes. Their teacher, Miss Jody, shot them a warning glare.

“Dean!” Castiel whisper shouted back, a blush spreading from his cheeks to his neck. Castiel put his head in his hands, not daring to look at Dean again.

Suddenly he felt a hand landing on his shoulder, squeezing it in a comforting manner. “It’s okay, nothing to be ashamed of. I just thought with a guy like you…” Dean trailed off.

Castiel lifted his head a bit, eyeing Dean, before letting it fall back again. “What do you mean?” Castiel said, muffled by his hands.

“Well, I just thought that you would have kissed someone, I mean you have a great personality and you’re good looking.” Dean replied with confidence.

Castiel just stared at him with a small smirk dancing on his lips. Dean’s confidence now faltered, as he turned a deep scarlet red.

“I meant that in a non-gay way.” Dean mumbled, suddenly very interested in inspecting the whiteboard with the upcoming homework written in a neat script.

// Chan / Dino

You and Dino were waiting in line for the biggest roller coaster in the amusement park. Looking up nervously, you gulped as you watched people on the ride scream as they rode down the hills and curves of the ride. Beside you was your boyfriend, Dino. He seemed so excited for the ride, he was practically bouncing in his place.

Suddenly he looked down at you, with obvious concern in his eyes. “Babe? Are you alright? We don’t have to ride this if you don’t want to..” he said with a small pout.

You sighed, how could you stop him from riding this roller coaster he was so excited for?? You shook your head and smiled, “No, it’s fine. It’d be a waste to leave the line now anyways, since we’ve been waiting for so long.”

Dino stared at you skeptically and tilted his head. “Hmm.. alright if you say so babe. But just remember I’m happy as long as I’m with you so don’t force yourself okay?” He said before pinching one of your cheeks.

You two played in line for about 10 more minutes before it was your turn. “Next!” the person operating the ride shouted. Dino grabbed your hand and rushed the two of you to the very front of the roller coaster.

The ride operator fastened your seat belts and the ride began. As the cart slowly approached the top of the hill you began to panic and shut your eyes tight. Dino took notice and simply chuckled. He grabbed your hand and interlocked your fingers with his and leaned towards your ear. “Hey, you big baby. We’ll be fine, I promise.” He said and gave your hand a reassuring squeeze. You slowly opened your eyes to look back at a smiling Dino.

The moment of happiness didn’t last long though, about a second after you opened your eyes the coaster rushed down the big hill and you screamed your lungs at. At the end of the ride you were out of breath from screaming so much. The ride operator unlocked your seat belts and the two of you left the attraction, hands still intertwined.

“See? It wasn’t so bad right?” Dino said while smiling cheerfully.

You looked back up at him and smiled back, “Yeah, it was actually kinda fun.”

The sun was slowly beginning to fade and soon it would be sunset. “We have time for one more ride! What should we go on babe?” Dino asked you. You looked around the park, your eyes stopping on the ferris wheel. Dino followed your gaze and chuckled. “So, ferris wheel huh?” he asked.

You looked back at him and said, “Huh? Oh, no, it’s okay. You’d probably want to go ride on something more exciting right?” Dino smiled at the thought of how considerate you always are.

“It’s alright babe. We’ve been going on the exciting fast things that I wanted to do all day today. Now we can ride something you want to go on.” He said while guiding you towards the ferris wheel. There wasn’t much of a line, as all the other guests were probably trying to squeeze in one last exciting ride.

You and Dino got into the gondola, sitting side by side. You made small talk as the ferris wheel slowly approached the top. The sun had now begin to set and the sky was a beautiful blend of pinks, reds, and oranges. You looked out the window and smiled. “It’s so beautiful.” You said out loud.

Dino scooted closer to you and said, “Yeah, it’s pretty. But you’re the most beautiful.” while giving a cheesy smile.

You looked back at him and chuckled. “What a corny loser”

He raised his brow, “Oh yeah? Well you happen to be dating this loser.” Dino said matter-of-factly. While slowly leaning closer to you he whispered, “And this loser, loves you a lot.” Before you could say anything else, Dino leaned in for a kiss. You were surprised for a second before melting into the sweet kiss.

After the short kiss, the gondola had reached the top. You looked over to Dino and said, “Yeah, you’re a loser. But you’re my loser. I love you too.”

You Love Him But He’s Your Best Friend: Michael

Your phone buzzes on the nightstand beside you and you groan. With blurry eyes you hit answer and press the phone to your ear.

“What?” you ask your voice still thick with sleep.

“Open your door” a voice says.

“What?”

“Open your door, it’s freaking freezing out here.”

You pull the phone back and glance at the caller I.D. It was your best friend Michael calling at…at three in the morning!

“Mikey, it’s three in the morning. What do you want?” you ask.

“Come and open your door and you’ll find out” he says.

You sigh, “okay. I’m coming.”

You hang up the phone and curse under your breath. If you weren’t so in love with him there was no way you would be opening your door at three ‘o'clock in the morning for him. You slip on your favorite hoodie since you sleep in nothing but a bra and a pair of boxers you stole from him and walk down the hall to open the door. You pull open the door to be greeted by a very excited Michael, who couldn’t seem to stand still.

“Finally, it took you long enough” he says walking in.

“I’m sorry if I was sleeping like a normal person” you say following him into your kitchen.

“Got anything to eat?” he asks.

“Container in the fridge, help yourself” you say.

You watch as he pulls open the fridge and pulls out the leftover pizza that was in there. He sits down and begins to eat while you walk behind him a pull two Mountain Dews. After handing one to him you sit across from him and sip from yours.

“So…” you say.

“So what?” he says around a mouthful of pizza.

“So, why did you wake me up at three a.m?” you ask.

“Oh, yeah. That” he swallows and smiles at you.

“You are never going to believe what just happened at the store.”

“What happened? And you were at the store but still came over to eat my food?” you say.

“That didn’t have anything I wanted and that’s not the point. The point is that I met the most amazing girl in the world.”

“Oh” you say raising an eyebrow at him.

You could feel your heart breaking at those words but quickly put your own feelings in check.

“Yeah, she’s perfect. Her name is Amanda and she has the most beautiful smile. We’re going out for lunch later at that new place downtown.”

“That’s nice” you say jumping down from your seat on the counter.

“I was thinking maybe you could meet up with us later, I really want you to met her” he says.

“Oh…um….I can’t, I have work and you know how my boss is” you say.

Michael shrugs, “it’s no big deal. You’ll just have to meet her later.”

“Yeah…later, hey listen I have an early morning tomorrow so I’m going back to bed” you say.

“Oh yeah, no problem. I’ll talk to you later” Michael says getting up.

You walk him to the door and he pulls you into a hug.

“Have a good day at work gorgeous” he says pulling away.

“Yeah, have fun on your date” you say softly.

“Hey, you okay?” he asks.

You clear your throat, “What? Yeah, yeah I’m fine just tired.”

“Okay” he says.

You wave goodbye as Michael pulls out of your driveway. You close the door with a quiet click and slide down to the floor. Your heart felt like it was shattering into a billion pieces and your stomach felt like it was doing back flips. You take a deep breath, trying to keep the tears in check but your feelings are too strong. You take another deep breath and wipe your tears away, above all, you wanted Michael to be happy and if this Amanda girl made him happy then you were happy for him. You go back to bed, your thoughts racing on how you were going to keep your feelings to yourself.

part seven

Dahlia ended up crushing Michael. He had only taken one shot at the object balls, pocketing two, but then scratching when aiming for the third. Dahlia placed the cue ball strategically and aimed with precision. She pocketed ball after ball in ascending order, Michael watching in awe. Then she finally aimed at the nine ball, the ball she needed to pocket to win.

She glanced up from the table, meeting Michael’s eye. She smirked at him as she let the pole slide through her fingers, hitting the cue ball and sending it rolling towards the nine ball. Like she expected, it rebounded off the side of the table and went straight into the corner pocket.
