yeah i don't know ok

People can oversimplify Aries sometimes. Yes, Aries is a sign that is known to be straightforward and simple, but Aries as a sign isn’t simple. If Aries was simple, it would be easily understood by others. However, there’s always some misunderstanding about Aries.

Aries are often symbolized to be the baby of the zodiac. This makes sense. They’re the first sign in the zodiac, and they’re the sign to start off the spring season. In the spring, things are created and born. There’s an initiation of creation. However, it can be hard to understand a baby at first. Until you have numerous experiences with a baby, it can definitely be hard to get along with one. An Aries is the same way and in this sense, they are constantly misunderstood by others.

In my opinion, it’s intriguing to find a sign who is associated with war and conflict, but then with childish innocence at the same time. It’s hard to place two very different images of Aries together: the warrior and the baby. The warrior is strong, aggressive, and dangerous. The baby is weak, harmless, and innocent. The warrior has seen the bloody details of war, while the baby has just been born into the world, not knowing a thing. With this, Aries can present a contradicting image that can be misunderstood by others. While Aries is skilled in combat against others, Aries also lacks the awareness of the people around them.

Although these two images are very different, I think this is where the “survivor” archetype of Aries comes from. When you are a survivor, you have faced peril and overcame it. The circumstances of course can vary, but the connotation with the word survivor can imply someone who has faced unfamiliar experiences (the baby) but has worked skillfully against difficulty and lived (warrior.)

The baby and warrior archetypes ultimately work together to create the survivor archetype. The survivor archetype may be the ultimate archetype an Aries is to reach in their lives. There are negative characteristics of the baby and warrior archetypes, but if the good characteristics are harmoniously put together, I think the survivor archetype will be achieved.

While the manifestation of Aries can be simple compared to the other signs, I believe Aries as a sign itself is complex. I feel that there are a lot of seemingly contradicting images of Aries that can be ignored because they’re seen to be the “most simple sign” out of all the signs.

tbh i love that clip of magnus's petty ass, and i love that he's kinda wary and vulnerable when it comes to relationships. there's such a huuuge difference in age, experience, and power between him and alec that it would be easy for their relationship to feel very boring and unequal with him as the perfectly mature wise sage teaching alec all about love. it's so much more interesting and healthy if they both have flaws and insecurities and moments of immaturity and pettiness.

Same, and i think every relationship is new, too. Magnus might have had relationships in the past, but it doesn’t mean falling in love isn’t new every time. Alec is his own person, this is a brand new relationship for both of them, and they’re each going to be learning about each other – all their favorite foods, what makes them tick, the things that make their knees weak. These are things they both have to put work into learning, not just one or the other.

So yeah, I agree, it’s nice to see them both a little unsure about their footing and watch them slowly work it out together. Magnus, I think, has enough experience to know how to open communications where Alec might be hesitant to, but I don’t doubt Alec will put in quite a bit of effort, as well. We’re already seeing it happening when he approaches Magnus on his own to apologize and to talk. And if you don’t realize the significance of this, remember that just days ago Isabelle literally had to blindfold Alec and drag him into a room before he would talk to Jace and even then he stubbornly refused to until Jace spoke up first. So Alec coming to Magnus first all on his own is a pretty huge step for him and I think it says a lot about how important his relationship with Magnus already is to him.

yeah ok in the books they talk about what they’d do in a zombie apocalypse but WHAT IF the foxes MET in a zombie apocalypse yes i’ve been watching too much the walking dead who cares

  • there are two times in neil josten’s life that he’s been grateful for his father
  • the first is when he takes down a zombie for the first time. he knows exactly how to swing a knife and where to hit and how to run away, and if doing so makes him feel physically sick, well, zombies are gross
  • the second is when he realises the butcher has finally caught up with him, except he’s a zombie. neil knows this is the only way he could ever have taken his father down, and now he feels free. sure, it’s the apocalypse, but he’s been running for survival his whole life and finally, finally no one’s after him in particular, and no one who’s trying to kill him is intelligent enough to be a threat
  • he meets the other foxes in a safe house
