yeah but instead i made this

Alright guys so I’ve seen something happening over and over again on posts about Wonder Woman and Gal Gadot and I am caving and making an entire post about it.

This has to do with claims that she is a Zionist and that she’s an awful human being because she served in the IDF (the Israeli Army) and yada yada.

FIRST OF ALL: Serving in the Israeli military is required of all citizens. She served for 2 years as a combat TRAINER. She was badass enough to be a combat trainer in one of the most deadly armed forces in the world (these are the people who created Krav Maga, okay?) and she did not engage in active combat. She killed no one. Her service was mandatory and after she got out, she went to law school because she is very passionate about justice and social issues. The most noteworthy thing about her views on her time in the military is that she says quite frequently that she wishes no country had the need for a military. She is very much a proponent of peace.

As for the Zionism claims… there you get into the debate of what Zionism actually means. Does it automatically mean you are anti-Palestinian, or does it simply mean you believe in the Jewish state of Israel? I’ll let you decide but…

Here is what I do know about Gal: She is an Israeli. She was born and raised there. She believes her people have a right to their homeland because they, like her, were born and raised there. I have seen NOTHING of her saying anything hateful about Palestinians. You can argue about history all you like but the important thing is actually THE PEOPLE. The moment we side with a government over people is the moment we lose. Most people alive today in that area were born and raised there and so it IS THEIR HOME, regardless of them being Israeli or Palestinian. It is home to them both. (Again, not arguing the HISTORY of the people. But the actual people who are alive there today.) The goal should not be to take sides with either government, but to hope that the people themselves can coexist peacefully and happily. That is what Gal believes in. She wants the conflict to stop and for peace to be achieved. Just because she is a proud Israeli and a proud Jew does not mean she is automatically anti-Palestinian or anything else. Personally I think it is amazing and beautiful that an Israeli Jewish woman is portraying Wonder Woman, one of the most iconic superheroes of all time.

Other things about Gal? She is most proud of being a mother to a 4-year-old little girl named Alma. Her daughter loves princesses but Gal says Alma has told her that princesses seem weak and that they always need a prince to save them. Gal said that broke her heart because she wants her daughter to grow up knowing that women are amazing and can do anything, and so can she. So being Wonder Woman has come at the perfect time for her because her daughter is watching her every move and she says Wonder Woman embodies everything that is wonderful about women. Not only is she strong and brave and fierce… she is compassionate and kind and intelligent. Gal says she hopes women AND MEN will see Diana/Wonder Woman and understand and appreciate all the complexities of being a woman and how powerful we are just by being ourselves. She’s also a real goofball and loves to joke around and dance on set. AND she gained… wait for it… 17 lbs of muscle for the role! That is INSANE! Not to mention that I’ve never heard anyone more coherently understand the true nature of Diana the way Gal does. She understands that the best thing about Wonder Woman is how truly GOOD she is… how much she cares and believes in mankind, and yet that compassion does not undermine her strength and power. Instead it enhances it. She really GETS the character and that’s why I’m so excited to see her portrayal.

So yeah… can we please stop blindly hating on her because someone somewhere made some claim and we think it makes us smart and politically superior to believe it and support it? It doesn’t. It just makes you look like a weak-minded jerk. Do your own research. This goes for other things as well. Don’t jump on hate trains just because you want to seem cool or smart.

GAL GADOT IS AMAZING AND IS GOING TO BE AN AWESOME WONDER WOMAN! I leave you with this gif of her being adorable on set of BvS.

I honestly feel for Lance when it comes to him disliking Keith, especially in the beginning of the show

Here he’s told that he wouldn’t even be a fighter pilot if it wasn’t for Keith dropping out

I can’t even imagine how bad that must’ve made him feel, almost like he didn’t have a purpose there at all because of Keith. If you think about it, Keith being better than him in the Galaxy Garrison probably made him feel inferior and unimportant, which is why he developed a grudge against him in the first place.

This feeling of inferiority and being put down before Keith is why he always feels as if he was one-upping him.

Then there’s the fact of Shiro who he looks up to a lot and has literally called him his hero, and it has probably already been made aware to Lance how close he is to Keith. This also put him at a disadvantage when it comes to being noticed by him.

This is most likely why he blew up at Shiro that time when he chose Keith over him to come on the mission. He probably felt that Shiro was favouring Keith just because of their closeness, even though he has practically the same potential as him, and even more if anything.

Then there’s Allura

Lance is always flirting with her and trying to make moves, but she never seems interested or cares in the slightest.

Then she happens to become involved with Keith and it’s really no surprise why Lance would be jealous

He’s trying so hard with her and then he gets the impression that she may be more interested in Keith, someone who is literally always stealing the spotlight from him. I can’t even imagine how low that made him feel too.

Even though I feel like their relationship is slowly improving, because we got to see in season two how Lance actually cares about Keith

I think this issue of him being put below and feeling inferior to him will be very serious in season three now that Shiro’s gone

Who did Shiro put his faith in to lead the team if anything happened to him? Oh yeah, Keith. Then there’s also the fact that Lance felt like a seventh wheel

During this scene he made Shiro proud of him, which is why it was such an important moment. Shiro praised him, making him feel valuable and like an important part of the team.

Then he disappears, and the news is going to be broken that he wants Keith to lead instead of Lance? Leading Voltron is a big deal, and if Lance finds out that Shiro has no faith in him to lead, that’s going to kill him guys I can just feel it.

Keith and Lance, especially Lance, are going to have to overcome their differences if they want to move forward in Voltron and eventually find Shiro. Lance needs to face his inferiority problems with Keith, only then can they work properly together without any issues. Except if that doesn’t happen, there’s going to be a lot of conflict this season with them and no progress in their relationship.

And that’s exactly what we don’t want, considering I’m almost 99.9% sure Keith doesn’t even hate or dislike Lance, he only has to feel that way because of how Lance acts towards him.

One foot in the grave

From the age of two Lance never stopped moving.
He would crawl through his house making it impossible to keep track of him.
However it was nothing compared to what he was like when he learned how to walk.
Soon as he could stand on his own two feet he was gone.
He would run through the garden chasing birds.
He would run to his classes in school.
He would run to the store.
He would run across the road.
Without looking both ways.
He would run straight into the path of a truck.
While he was lying in the hospital bed with his legs shattered all the doctors would tell him was how lucky he was to be alive.
For a while Lance thought that his luck would also save his legs.
But it wasn’t to be.
The doctors did all they could, using pins to try and fuse the bones back together.
However after only two days infection had set in and they had no choice but to amputate the first leg.
The second came a week later after it became clear that the bone just wasn’t fusing back together.
For months Lance was trapped in a chair, healing and waiting.
He never cried though. If he cried then his mama would cry.
Lance wouldn’t have his mama crying because of him.
When he finally got prosthetics it wasn’t what he had been hoping for.
It was a long painful process full of disappointment and failure before he could walk again.
And an even longer time before he could run again.
However Lance was determined and never gave up.
By time he moved to a new high school no one could tell he was missing both legs.

Lance was walking home from class grumbling to himself. He was pretty annoyed that his best friend Hunk had decided that he would prefer to hang out with Pidge then him.
Well not decided more like had to do he wouldn’t fail the project they were working on.
But Lance felt like being petty.
It had been raining that day, the humidity made his stumps painful which made him irritated.
To make things worse he had no choice but to walk home in the rain since his car had gone and died on him that morning.
Lance was so busy wallowing in self pity that he didn’t even notice he was about to walk into someone.
He managed to walk straight into a figure huddled inside their jacket causing the two of them to fall to the ground with a thud.
“What the hell man!” Lance yelled before stopping when he realised who he had just walked into.
Keith glared at him the rain plastering his dark hair to his face “not my fault! You walked into me!”
“Yeah well your still a jerk! You park in the handicapped space yesterday at the mall!” Lance yelled pointing at him accusingly.
“Why the hell do you care where I park! It was like 4am and it wasn’t like anyone needed it!” Keith snapped getting to his feet and trying to brush some of the water away.
“You didn’t kno-” Lance had tried to stand but when he was halfway up a cracking sound echoed around the empty campus and he went flying forwards right into Keith who caught him out of pure instinct.
Keith’s anger quickly turned to concern and nausea at the sight of the unnatural angle the lower half of Lance’s leg was now bent.
“Oh my god! Shit I’ll call an ambulance!” Keith stuttered as he carefully lowered Lance to the floor and looked for his phone only to find it cracked and unresponsive.
“D-don’t worry I’ll erm I’ll… why are you laughing?”
Lance was laughing hard as he watched Keith’s panicked actions.
“Relax dude I’m fine. See” he grabbed his foot and pulled making Keith have to fight the urge to throw up as it came away in his hand.
“See just plastic.”
Keith’s eyes widened at the sight of the prosthetic. He had no idea that Lance, the over confident narcissistic pretty boy was a amputee.
Suddenly him getting upset about Keith taking the handicapped spot makes much more sense.
“Shit… I’m sorry.”
Lance shrugged, “nah you were right it wasn’t your fault. But erm if your still riding the guilt train I could use a ride? I mean if you don’t mind.” He looked away blushing and Keith couldn’t help but smile.
“Yeah sure.”
He didn’t wait for permission, instead he simply scooped Lance up princess style and walked him to his car, a small beat up red thing that could almost pass for home made with all the repairs done to it.
“H-hey I don’t need carrying!” Lance’s blush deepened as he wrapped his arms around Keith’s neck for stability only. Or at least that’s what he told himself.
“It’s quicker then you just hopping along.” Keith shrugged as he deposited Lance in the passenger seat and took his place behind the wheel.
“Still dude. It’s humiliating. Bad enough you know about my legs.”
Keith rose and eyebrow as he pulled out of the parking lot. “I only knew about one of them.”
“Fuck…” Lance hissed under his breath.
Keith couldn’t help but chuckle quietly at that.
“Man I really am an idiot, can you keep this between us… it’s just I’d prefer everyone not to know.”
Lance sounded so small and vulnerable in that moment that Keith glanced over to check that it really was the same obnoxious guy he knew from school.
“Look I promise I won’t tell anyone… but maybe you should.”
“What would you know about this?” Lance huffed crossing his arms.
“More then you would expect, my brother Shiro lost his arm and he was suffering in silence for a long time. I just don’t want you to do the same.”
Keith glanced over at Lance to see him looking very embarrassed.
Keith’s eyes widened “b-by that I mean anyone in your situation not j-just you specifically!” He rambled on quickly.
Lance laughed that strong joy filled laugh of his That always seems to light up the room. “It’s cool man. I knew what you meant.”
They pulled up outside Lance’s home and Keith offered his shoulder for support this time rarther then carrying him in.
After ringing the bell and waiting on the door step Lance looked up at Keith. “Hey Keith.”
“Yeah Lance?”
“Thanks.”
Lance kissed him on the cheek just as the door opened and Lance launched himself on his older brother closing the door behind him.
Leaving a very confused, very wet but also very very VERY happy Keith standing outside.

The buzzing in your head was constant and obnoxious. You knew you had been stupid enough last night to drink yourself to stupor. Groaning, you reached for your pillow and instead your fingers threaded through long hair. Some part of you knew that you shouldn’t, but you still gripped tightly and pulled.

A loud yelp pierced through the air before a masculine voice began to curse. There was a sharp sting to the back of your hand and you hissed, pulling it back and cradling it to your chest.

Your eyes fluttering opened, you gave it a few seconds to fully focus on the person before you and you realized that you did not know him.

“Who are you?” you blurted out.

Chewbacca And Han Solo (Jughead Jones Imagine)

A/N: A small disagreement escalates into something Jughead regrets from the minute he says it. But in the time of need, good will always win.

Warnings: Swearing

“No.”

“Please?”

“No.”

“Pretty please?”

“Again…no.”

“What about- “

“Nah-uh.”

“Y/N I AM BEGGING YOU!”

You put your hand on you hip, “There is actually no way in hell am I wearing that.”

Jughead sighed, “Why? What’s wrong with it?”

“You want me to tell you what’s wrong with wanting me to wear a Chewbacca outfit to a party that our whole year will be at?” You asked with raised eyebrows, not understanding where the hell your dumbass boyfriend got that idea from.

“Well, we can’t both be Han Solo!” He defended, throwing his hands in the air as if it was obvious.

You scoffed. This was the biggest party in your whole social life, you looked forward to it every year. It was hosted by the one and only Cheryl Blossom and the rule was: no fancy dress = no entrance. The past years you had outdone yourself, staring off with Jasmine from Aladdin, followed by a hippie with the full flower-power theme the next, and last year you topped it off with dressing as Bellatrix Lestrange. Now this time around, you had to do even better, which meant definitely not wearing the Chewbacca costume that Jughead wanted you to.

He had brought up the idea moments ago, you were currently at lunch in the student common room, surrounded by the usual group of Archie, Betty, Veronica, Kevin, Jughead and yourself. The people you called your “best friends” all had different reactions to Jugheads couple costume idea. Veronica was looking shocked at the thought of you wearing a furry-onesie to the highest social class event of the year, Kevin nodding and agreeing with her argument that she was loudly spreading to the rest of the group. Archie was in deep conversation with Jughead about the style of his costume and planning a trip the town costume shop for a plastic gun to take royal place as Han Solos weapon. And Betty was in awe at the ‘adorable’ thought of a couple-costume.

You on the other hand, thought it was preposterous.

“Sorry to burst your bubble Juggie,” you shrugged sarcastically, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder, “but I would rather get a sticky maple from Chuck than wear a Chewbacca costume in public…or ever.”

Little did you know, that once you had said your final word and started to have a conversation with Veronica about your actual costume, Jugheads’ heart sunk. He was excited about this, the first time he wanted to do something publicly to show that you were his, and you had turned down his idea.

All he wanted to do was show the other guys that nobody was to touch you.

Looking up from your conversation with Ronnie, you noticed your boyfriend’s sunken eyes that were focused on the floor. He couldn’t be that affected by a simple costume, could he? It was just a costume, a silly outfit that he was taking way to personally to heart.

Jughead looked up and met your loving eyes with a cold stare.
“Fine, you would rather have a fun time with Chuck, then he can take you to the party.” Jughead stated
aggressively.

You were stunned, and as were the others it seemed because they suddenly fell quiet from their various conversations.

“What are you talking about, Juggie?” You laughed lightly, confused with the sudden turn of events.

He scoffed, “Well you obviously don’t care about me, so Chuck can take you. I’m not going.”

Archie place a hand on his elbow, “Jug don’t be an idiot- “

Jughead shrugged him away and stared accusingly at you. You started to felt your blood boil at his sudden accusations and rudeness.

“Where is, this coming from?” You asked with pure shock laced in your tone.

Of course, you cared about him, he was the one person you loved more than life for god’s sake!

“You always have to have your own way! Nothing nice for anyone else,” Jughead accused, his words becoming harsher than expected.

The way he stared at you with a cold, hard glare hurt inside and you could see the tears start to form at the bottom of your waterline, but there was no way you were going to start crying here in front of all the people.

“Fine,” you shouted back, “I will go with Chuck.”

Veronica started to say your name in a rushed tone to make you see reason, but you ignored it.

“I will go with Chuck, because I don’t want to go with someone who overreacts about a costume party and starts making accusations!” You furiously said with the anger you felt being clear in your face.

But Jugheads expression only grew angrier and suddenly, you were frightened of losing him forever.

“Well that’s good then because I don’t want to go with someone who doesn’t care about anyone but herself and acts like goddamn royalty and superior, but is actually just a fake and never gets anything right. Because guess, what I hate people like that, and guess what again, that is a definition of you.”

He spat out the words like poison, and the way they stung your heart certainly felt like it. Your stomach felt heavy, as if all the broken pieces of you heart and fallen. A single tear rolled down your cheek and the vison of Jughead was blurred.

But when he saw how much damage his words caused and how he had just destroyed anything the two of you had, the anger inside his bones was washed away and instead, he was filled with regret.
He hated the fact he had hurt you, the way he has just broken the person he loved and needed to get by.

“Y/N, I’m sorry, I did-“He began to stutter with remorse obvious in his voice. His eyes met yours but you looked away. It hurt to do so.

“No, it’s ok, you made your feelings pretty clear,” you spoke clearly, brushing the tears way with the palm of your hand and picking your back up from the couch. Without another word, you left the room.

You were closely followed by Veronica and Betty after they both started at Jughead with confusion and frustration plastered on their face and left the room, running after you to make sure you were ok. Kev left behind them, but not before putting a hand on Jugs shoulder to show he cared for him, but the fact he left to come after you showed he was concerned for you more than Jughead. Archie was still sat on the couch, just staring at his best friend as he had a mental battle with himself.

Jughead was furious with himself at the way he had overreacted and hurt you so deeply. He never meant for it to go that far, and his heart hurt at the idea of you crying somewhere feeling damaged and defeated.

Archie rose to his feet and looked Jughead straight in the eyes. No matter how much he wanted to say something to make his best friend feel better, to make him ok and tell him that there was a light at the tunnel. Archie desperately wanted to tell him that you two would make up and you would forgive him, but he couldn’t. Instead he picked up his back and made an exit for the door.

Jug’s eyes followed him out, and when Archie stopped he was hopeful that his best friend was going to be there for him in the time of need.

But all that came from Archie’s mouth was:

“You really fucked up this time, mate.”

And he left.

Jughead just sighed.

“Yeah,” he mumbled to himself. “I know.”

The tears in your eyes started to fall quicker and quicker as you stormed down the school corridors, looking for one person in particular. And when you saw him, you knew exactly what to do.

“Hey, Chuck!” You yelled down to him. Chuck was standing next to Reggie, and when he heard his named called, he turned around quickly. Your eyes met each other’s and you felt a sickening felling grow in your stomach.

“Hey, babe,” he smirked, throwing an arm around your shoulder, “what’s up?”

You shrugged his arm off – it wasn’t the same loving feeling as Jugheads. Chucks simple gesture felt dangerous, and you suddenly wanted to back out from making a mistake.

But there was no way you could go back to Jughead, not after he had hurt you like that.

So, gathering up courage, you managed to force out the words.

“Do you want to go to Cheryl’s party with me?” You spoke through gritted teeth, trying not to think about the fact you should be doing this with Jughead and not a play boy like Chuck.

You heard running from behind you and saw Betty and Veronica nearing where you were.

Betty placed a heartfelt hand on your elbow, trying to pull you away from Chuck, but your shrugged her off, “Don’t do this Y/N, you know Jughead didn’t mean it- “

“Shut up, Betty!” You spat out, not intending for it to come out quite so rude, “Sorry, it’s just that Jughead has made his feelings clear, so I’m going to take his advice.” You said, looking them in their eyes and trying to show them that you knew what you were doing.

Chuck pulled you back into his side and smirked down at you, “Yeah baby, we can go together, and after we can have a little fun.” He laughed and whispered in your ear.

Your stomach grew tighter as you felt your breakfast almost making a re-appearance. You forced a smile and just nodded at Chuck, pulling yourself out of his arms and walking towards a worried looking
Betty and a confused looking Ronnie.

“Jughead made up his mind,” you defended yourself, biting back the tears that were ready to be unleashed, “and now so have I.”

But of course, your heart took over and the tears began to spill once more. Veronica quickly pulled you into her arms, the comforting smell of her Yves Saint Laurent perfume making you feel safe for the moment. Betty joined in, and the three of you remained silently hugging in the middle of the hallway. Unbeknownst to you, Kevin and Archie has witnessed the entire matter, and when they noticed what was happening between you all, rushed over to be part of the group hug.

‘These people are here for me’ you thought to yourself. But no matter how much you wanted to be happy at that moment, you couldn’t.

Because your heart was shattered, and unfortunately, the only person who could fix it was the person who destroyed it in the first place.

And little did you know, that very same person was watching all his friends comfort you in the middle of the hallway, whilst you cried quietly because of something he did.

And he was determined to make it right.

—3 DAYS LATER—–

Saturday night. Party night.

it gets harder to talk about but it gets easier to hold it in. to sit up prettier, to shut up louder, to pretend i don’t want you when all i want is to give in, to hold back the tears at the bar and release them once i get into my own bed, to pretend i want to exist. i want to exist. i want to exist. if i say it enough times, even i believe it. but suddenly, i’m a couple drinks in and i remember how unhappy i really am and everybody’s having fun around me but i can’t breathe anymore and my friend tells me i’m a wimp for never expressing my anger when the second i express it, there is always someone there to invalidate it. it’s getting easier to call myself crazy as an excuse for feeling, as if i’m not allowed to feel, as if this pressure build-up in my head is nothing but unequal brain chemistry, and everybody is so easy to brush off my emotions as being a product of mental illness instead of re-evaluating their own actions and wondering how in the world they could have made me feel this way.

so yeah, to say i’m mad is an understatement. to say i’m mad would even be lying. because it goes deeper than this feeling i experience once in a while, the real truth is that i’m sad and that sadness runs deep. i’m hurt. i feel like nobody even cares if they hurt me and the second i even suspect i am offending a stranger, i say sorry. but people run from me instead of apologize because their pride is more important than my feelings and it’s always been that way. i fall in love with anyone who shows me affection and people think it’s weird but when you’ve been deprived for so long from people who will listen, i don’t know, it’s hard. it’s still hard to believe that the second i start spilling my emotions, people talk over me. nobody wants to be with the person who brings up serious conversations at parties. nobody wants to be there for the girl who is always sad. everyone wants to pretend it doesn’t exist. and the more they pretend, the more i realize i’m getting good at this.

so i try to shut up until i can’t. like this time last year, i was showing up to your house to scream at you because i spent so much time holding everything in. but last night, i sent you fifteen text messages and deleted every one before i pressed send and i know no one’s gonna be there to congratulate me but maybe i can start being proud of myself because i don’t know how else i’m going to make this inadequate feeling end. you know, maybe i just have to keep trying things until i find something that works, maybe i just have to fly through boys until i find someone who isn’t gonna leave, maybe i just have to realize that the only person i’m ever going to truly have is me and i should stop holding people to impossible standards because they’re never going to live up to them and i’m always going to end up disappointed. nobody’s ever gonna care the way i want them to. it’s like i’m impossible to please. but god, i don’t know - i just wish for one second, someone would be excited about something because i am. be sad about something because i am. make me feel like my feelings affect others in some way. like they mean something. i’m growing so tired of the blank stares they give me.

i don’t know. maybe i’ve always asked for too much but i can’t remember the last time someone told me they loved me and if we’re being honest here: it’s devastating. i’m sad. i feel like i have nobody left. everyone likes me at first because i am so outgoing - i say what i’m thinking - but they leave soon after they realize that i am too much to deal with and they don’t really want to hear what’s in my head. they turn away because my insecurities make them nervous and who wants to deal with the girl who asks you if you hate them every five seconds? you say you don’t hate me but your body language tells me everything. i know i’m getting annoying but i can’t stop so i keep repeating it: i want to exist. i want to exist. i want to exist.

they say you’ve gotta let people in but the more i let people in, the more i regret it. i’m tired of silencing myself but it’s like the moments i’m silent are the only moments i’m not ruining everything.

—  I WANT TO EXIST. I WANT TO EXIST. I WANT TO EXIST. I’M NOT REALLY SAD. REMEMBER THIS.

“I baked you cookies.”

Peter jumped slightly, not anticipating someone to walk up behind him at his locker. Turning around, a smile was almost instant when he saw her. Shifting his bag, he accepted the little tin of cookies [Y/N] was holding out to him. “Cookies? Why?”

Her cheeks flushed again, something that he really was starting to enjoy. Ducking her head slightly, her hair fell to cover the rest of the color that covered her cheeks. “Because you spent three hours trying to teach me one thing.” Looking up, she groaned. “And the fact that I’m helpless and I felt really bad that we lost track of time and that you may or may not have gotten at least four hours of sleep.”

Peter chuckled, opening the tin, he placed a cookie in his mouth and placed the rest on the top shelf of his locker. Taking a bite, he had to resist the pleasurable moan that came from just that one bite. Pointing at the cookie, “This, this is really good. Thank you.” Shoving some more books into his bag, he smiled. “If you made these cookies, how many hours did you get?”

Wincing, she pointed to her coffee tumbler, “Like maybe two, if that.”

His brows knitted together, “Do you want to take a rain-check on tonight? I can study up on the history exam myself.” Peter felt bad that she was running on fumes.

She shook her head, “We made a deal.” Sipping on her coffee, she smiled. “Although, instead of studying at the library, if you’re okay with it. I would much rather study at my house so I can drink all the free coffee I can, to get me through it.”

“You-your house?”

Nodding, “Yeah, I already asked my mom not that it would have mattered. Both my parents are doctors at the hospital so they’re never home.” Leaning her head to the side, she raised a brow, “I mean we can still study at the library if that’s more comfortable-”

“-no! I mean, no, yeah, that’s fine. We can go to your house.” Peter cleared his throat, mentally slapping himself for sounding like an idiot. Closing his locker, he slung his bag on his shoulder, “What time?”

She shrugged, “I mean we can go right after school like yesterday.” Following him the direction of their Chemistry class, she sighed. “Something tells me you’re way better at history then I am with mechanical engineering.”

Peter chuckled, “I don’t want to brag but I am pretty awesome at history and mechanical engineering but it doesn’t hurt to study up.” Looking down at her, he couldn’t help but feel at ease talking to her. Occasionally, he’d find himself tripping over his words but for the most part, he didn’t feel socially awkward or anxious.

“Hey guys whats up!” Ned slung his arms around both Peter and [Y/N], scaring the daylights out of them.

[Y/N] yelped out loudly, almost dropping her coffee in the process. Desperately needing the caffeine to get her through the day, she opted to save her tumbler over her binders. They scattered the floor, “Well, shit.” She blurted.

Peter gave Ned a look while he gave an apologetic shrug, “Seriously, dude.” Bending down to help pick up the scattered papers, his attention got drawn to a realistic sketch of Spiderman. Pausing, he looked at [Y/N] who was busily trying to rescue her neatly written notes and papers. “Did you draw this?”

Scrambling all the papers together and shoving them into her binder, she finally looked over. Her breath getting caught in her throat. “Um, uh, um.” Standing up slowly with Peter, she gently took it from his hands, “Yes, I, um, I think he’s pretty cool….”

Ned leaned over her shoulder, smirking, “Wicked.”

[Y/N] narrowed her eyes at him as she quickly shoved it inside a notebook. Peter had a dumbstruck smile on his face, “Yeah, he is pretty cool.”

Tucking a piece of hair behind her ear, she nodded. “I like the whole hero in New York City thing. And despite his not so legal methods of keeping the city safe, I like it.” Biting her lip, she avoided their gazes, “It’s for my art class by the way, I’m not just randomly drawing Spiderman.”

Peter grinned, “It wouldn’t be weird even if you were just randomly drawing him.”

Blushing again, [Y/N] nodded halfway. “Right, well, um, I’ll see you in class.” Before Peter could stop her, she weaved in and out of students and headed to Chemistry.

Ned slapped Peter on the back, grinning, “Dude! You are so in!”

I was thinking about the Balmera episode and how Keith got the doors to work and I was just wondering…what would happen if Lance had done it? And then I was like…okay but what if Altean Lance had done it? And then this happened (under a cut for length)

Lance frowned, guiding his eyes along the panel in front of him and furrowing his brows. “Hmm…nope…maybe…”

He winced and started pressing at random buttons before glancing over at Keith. “I don’t know what I’m doing over here,” he admitted. “It’s all Galra gibberish.”

Keith scooted over. “Let me see.”

He studied the panel for a moment before nodding. “You said maybe on the handprint, right?”

Lance bit his lip. “Yeah, but what if it sets off an alarm?”

Keith ran a hand over his jaw, weighing the pros and cons. “Well…they already know we’re on the planet. Worst case scenario, we have to just destroy the hangar and hope the Balmera survives. Best case scenario-”

“The doors close and we leave,” Lance finished with a nod. “Okay. Worth a shot. If it goes wrong, I’m blaming you.”

Keith rolled his eyes and Lance settled his palm over the handprint emblem, waiting with baited breath. For a moment, nothing happened, and the boys grinned, certain that they had found the solution.

“INTRUDER ALERT! ALTEAN INTRUDER ALERT!”

Listen, I wanted the money

This is kind of long so here’s some context. My group consists of a sex obsessed human pirate, a money obsessed, shit stirring tiefling rogue (me), a human psion who likes causing chaos, and a human warrior with amnesia, we are in a bar and and I am pissed at the bartender.

(Human pirate)HP: ok, so I go upstairs witg my two ladies and bed them

DM: ok, you go upstairs

(Human psion)HS: ok, so I simultaneously flip everyone’s mugs of beer upside down *rolls 18*

DM: you succeed and successfully start a chaotic bar fight

(Tiefling rogue)Me: I sneak up behind the bartender and stab him through the throat *rolls 18*

DM:you stab him and none of the bartenders notice until you are out from behind the bar *to me and HS* you see someone about to stab someone else with a table leg

HS: I go to stop him

Me: wait, I stop HS and tell him to just let it happen, snd that I have a plan

DM: he stabs the person in the chest and pulls the bloody table leg out of their chest

Me: I tell the bartenders that the man with the bloody table leg stabbed the bartender *rolls 14 on bluff*

DM: The bartenders believe you and yell for city guards, and you hear footsteps outside

HS: I quickly put everything back where it was before the guards arrive *rolls nat 20*

DM: you succeed and the guards arrive on the scene and grab hold of the guy with the table leg and start to escort him out of the bar

Me: I convince them that he also stole my money *rolls 17 of persuasion*

DM: wait, you are blaming him on the murder and condemning a stranger to death for the 25 gold he has?

Me: yeah, why not?

DM: What’s your alignment?

Me: Chaotic Neutral, why?

DM: well, I think your alignment should probably be changed to neutral evil

Me: that’s fair enough

HP: *comes downstairs with the 2 ladies he was with* what’d I miss?

A couple turns later, our psion tortured the stranger and made him go insane instead of quickly executing him, and he soon after became neutral evil as well

so i’ve become the girl who cries wolf and then finds a home inside of the wolf’s belly / i told everyone i hated you but every time, i was lying / i told everyone to unfriend you on all social media and deemed them bad friends if they didn’t / i told everyone at parties that you are a mean, vindictive person / the thing is, though, i really believed it at the time / i really thought when i punched you in the face and blocked your number, i could walk away from you and be alright / but in the morning, i texted you and apologized because i felt so bad / and in the end, i forgive you for the pain you’ve shed / i hate you / i love you / get away from me / come closer / i can’t stand the way you make me feel / i’ve never felt anything better / i told everyone i’d never go back to you but here i am again / it’s like every day is a screaming match with myself and i’m a sucker for dramatics / i can’t help it when you’re the only person who has ever made me feel wanted / i mean, sure, you’re doing it with three other girls but when you say you miss me, i still believe it / so yeah, people are so sick of hearing me cry about you and then hearing about me waking up in your bed / if i don’t even want the best for myself why should they want it for me instead / i don’t know, i just want to see the day where i stop screaming / i don’t know, i just want to see the day where i stop feeling

Seems to be a lot of hatred for “Rocknaldo” online immediately after its air date. Some people are just pissed that a CN promo made them think we’d be meeting a new Gem instead of watching Ronaldo choose a Gem nickname (I didn’t believe we’d be getting a new Gem for a second, given the style of the tease). But most of it’s just Ronaldo hate in general. Ronaldo’s a jerk, etc. Well yeah. He’s a jerk.

But here’s why I think this episode is important. Not Ronaldo’s redemption / apology / stating outright that he was wrong, though that’s good too. Not Steven giving chances to people for trying to understand, though again that’s good too. It’s important because in a simplified way, this brought to light how people who claim to want to understand us and help us can frequently engage in self-serving, counterproductive behavior.

I can’t even count the times in my life that someone “interested in” one of the several marginalized communities I’m part of has committed to a poorly organized, cursory study of my outsider group and then confronted me with claims that they understand what I should be doing better than I do. This is how I should handle my activism. This is the way I should prioritize my goals. This is a behavior or perspective of mine that’s alienating “normal” people like them. They accuse us of hypocrisy or misguidedness because they think it isn’t working if it’s not designed to serve and center them, and then they claim they have a better grasp of my mission than I do.

But this is my whole life. These are our whole lives.

Perspectives from outside are usually welcome, but not at the expense of ours. Not in place of and prioritized over lived experience. They should be learning from us, not striding in and telling us as an ally, they know better than we do what would forward our cause and what would bring us all together for good. Ronaldo in this episode is the worst kind of false ally. He came into Steven’s life with a so-called interest in what the Crystal Gems do, but applied his own ideas of what they’re like:

  • Expecting to be “issued” a Gem
  • Telling Steven he should be proud and show off his Gemstone even though he had misgivings about it
  • Focusing on how “cool” he sounded with his new label
  • Challenging more established members as to whether they really belonged there
  • Explicitly accusing established members of having false and invalid reasons for being included
  • Forcing himself to conform to imagined standards of the group even though they weren’t natural for him (not sleeping), then bragging about how Real Crystal Gem it made him
  • Responding to challenges by telling an established member that HE needed to go think about his validity to the group

These are all fake ally techniques most of us have seen with people who aren’t REALLY here about forwarding the cause. They give it a cursory study (if that), they slap a star on their shirt and use a new name, and they seek to climb the ranks of legitimacy by knocking down people “above” them who have done their time. Are you sure you really care about this mission? Don’t I seem to have a considered opinion because I’m being critical? Aren’t you really being the hypocrites by claiming you want to help and protect humanity but not accepting ME as I twist your mission statement to fit my agenda? The agenda, of course, just like with Ronaldo, is making THEM feel good.

If they truly understood, they would apprentice themselves to those for whom THIS IS THEIR WHOLE LIFE, and they would listen FAR more than they would talk. This is not only a way to offer respect and deference to their expertise; it is EFFECTIVE. It is the best way to get an education about what actually helps in a cause. Your ideas may be valuable and your questions are worth asking, but as a person who is perhaps trying to enter a movement alongside those whose very lives are consumed by it, you must listen hard, and listen first.

Ronaldo still doesn’t totally get it at the end. He thinks the real problem is he’s just too much of an outsider, even for outsiders. At least he’s closer to the truth now and isn’t actively spreading harmful lies, but well-meaning allies who don’t listen can still be more hurt than help. He seems happy emphasizing the imagined mystique that comes with being the “ultimate outsider,” but really, he’s a person who wants a cause more than he actually cares about any causes.

The Ronaldos of this world want to have done but don’t want to do. They want to skip to the part where they’re the hero of the battle, but not have to be humbled by the long hours and days of injuries, practice, concentration, and dedication. They want glory, and they have the mainstream perspective that they must be aggressive, confident, and competitive against others on their same side before they’ll come out on top. If you are an outsider to a movement and you truly want to be an ally, you must know why. Ronaldo couldn’t have answered the first question about what the Crystal Gems fight for. He never demonstrated that he could be trusted with the answer, though Steven was tolerant enough to keep giving him the benefit of the doubt.

A good lesson I took from this episode is this: If a Ronaldo is trying to infiltrate your inner circle and he’s already billing himself as an expert above people with more life experience, keep in mind that he is there to make everything about your movement conform to an ideology that serves HIM, and if necessary he will warp it and turn it against the people who are living it. And even if you’re part of a movement but have some similarities to Ronaldo—like Steven sharing Ronaldo’s experience of having an organic body and not being trusted on missions at first—don’t let a superficial similarity be misinterpreted as a substitute for authentic lived experience on the axis you’re examining here.

Invite new allies slowly, with caution, the way Steven and later the other Gems began to welcome Connie into the fold after she demonstrated solidarity, respect, and patience. If they show up on your doorstep with a suitcase and they’re asking why THEY don’t get your mother’s sword within a day, that is a red flag. They will divide and damage your core team in search of personal glory, and if you can’t get them to curb this behavior and sit down, you may have to turn them away for your own safety. Don’t let them take the glory from you, and if you do that, they will find a “better” cause that serves their REAL agenda soon enough.

Kara: How do you take your coffee? /// Lena: I like my coffee as dark and bitter as my soul /// Kara: Okay, so white chocolate mocha?

YESS!!

Give me Lena acting like she’s this badass and Kara’s just laughing like ok sure you’re evil, alright and who has to take the spiders outside instead of killing them?

Who gave her employees a huge bonus for no reason other than she felt like it?

Who made her driver stop so she could help the turtle to the side of the road?

Who pays off little kids hospital bills anonymously?

Yeah sure babe, you’re so evil.

i just… they pretended that maggie didn’t have a reason to hate valentine’s day? that her bad feelings on the topic weren’t valid? like they could be swept under the rug with a simple “yeah I’m sorry I’ll be happy about it now :)”? and that just feels so inorganic to me, that entire emotional arc was rushed. the turn around and the apology would have made more sense if they stuck with the initial reasons she gave for hating it.

what i would have liked to see instead is her doing up the prom and going all out for alex, and then saying something along the lines of “I don’t think I’ll ever like valentine’s day, but I can do cheesy romance. for you.” THAT is the sort of compromise a relationship like theirs should have, and would have, if the writers weren’t rushing through their scenes to squeeze in excessive heterosexual bullshit.

doodles-by-di  asked:

How would the team (romanced and not) react to some one bashing the Inquisitior for being Bisexual. It's a common thing, and lots of people believe that if your Bi, you're twice as likely to cheat, or you're being greedy, or just making it up. It's worse when people say they you've been faking it and that there officially " straight" or "gay/lesbian" now depending on the partner. Even some lesbians and gays bash bisexuals.

Iron Bull: He’d bash their freaking skull in if he could. Instead, he towers over them, the Inquisitor hugged protectively to his side, and scowls menacingly. “Could you say that one more time? Yeah, I didn’t think so.” Then he hustles the Inquisitor away for crazy strong drinks and comfort. If Romanced: Pretty much the same thing, but he’ll kiss the Inquisitor before leading them away and make loud comments about how much he loves them as they drink.

Cassandra: Her head whips around toward the one who made the comment and for a second she’s sure she didn’t just hear what she thinks she heard. But she looks at the Inquisitor and sees that look, the one that means they’re hurt and trying not to show it, and she knows. She storms over and says absolutely nothing, but she glares down the offender until they scamper away. Then she pats the Inquisitor awkwardly on the shoulder. “What they think matters not at all,” she assures them. “You are a good person, I know you are.” If Romanced: She storms over takes the Inquisitor’s hand tightly in hers, partly to comfort them and partly to keep herself from flying into the attack and bashing someone’s brains in. Once the offender leaves she turns and kisses her lover. “You are perfect, and you are mine,” she tell them, arms around their neck, uncaring of who could see for once. “I don’t care what they think. I know you are a good person.”

Blackwall: He won’t confront the idiot who said it directly, but he’ll place himself discreetly beside the Inquisitor and glare from the sidelines until they leave. Then he’ll stay beside the Inquisitor, a silent guard to keep idiots away. If they try to thank him he’ll get uncomfortable. “Just doing what’s right,” he’ll mumble into his beard. If Romanced: He’s drawn to the Inquisitor’s side as if magnetized, taking their arm in his. Posture straight, he’ll stare down everyone around them and dare anyone to say anything. No one does.

Dorian: Oh, now they’re in trouble. Dorian definitely heard that, and he glides over smoothly and wraps his arm around the Inquisitor, leaning against them. He then proceeds to ignore the person in front of them entirely and speak of them and all the skeletons in their closet to the Inquisitor as though it is merely juicy gossip. If Romanced: He kisses his amatus right there for whatever pea-brained idiot to see. He absolutely does not care what anyone thinks; he’s spent his life as a pariah but he’ll be damned before his amatus has to suffer like that. He’s a good man and deserves better.

Josephine: Very quickly, the offender loses most of their personal fortune as their business interests flop. They’re all but ruined by the end of the night. If Romanced: She bustles over, friendly and bubbly, and without ever saying a single threatening word makes certain that the offender knows that they’ve just ruined themselves. Then she gives her lover a kiss on the cheek, smiling sweetly.

Sera: Oh HELL NO. Friends are going to mess that piss bag up! But first, a well-placed knee to the crotch. If Romanced: And suddenly honeytongue has a shadow that is kissing her neck while making awkwardly direct eye contact with the stupid piss bucket that would dare to insult Inky. If the offender dares to say anything else, a well-placed knee to the crotch is in order.

Cole: Whoever said it leaves before they even finish the comment, distracted by something trivial. The Inquisitor’s favorite treat mysteriously appears in their hand. “They’re wrong. You’re good. You try to help and your people love you. It doesn’t matter what they think. It hurts, but you know you and they can’t change that.”

Varric: “Let me tell you a story about this time my good friend Hawke did something really terrible, slightly illegal, and entirely blasphemous to someone who said those exact words. Then I’ll tell you a story about the time I did something really terrible, slightly illegal, and entirely blasphemous to someone who said those exact words. Oh, wait, that one hasn’t happened yet. It’s about to!”

Cullen: No, that’s not going to stand. He marches over and calmly begins discussing the intricate and incredibly boring details of trebuchets and their calibration requirements in a very passive-aggressive way. If Romanced: His one-sided discussion about trebuchets becomes vaguely threatening, his smile brittle and the hand that normally rests on his sword is gripping the hilt.

Leliana: With a lovely smile and music in her voice, she curses whoever uttered the insult to the deepest, darkest edge of the Void. Her agents disguised to blend in with the crowd flash weapons and make vaguely threatening remarks until the offender leaves Skyhold altogether.

Vivienne: And the offender has just been socially ruined for the rest of eternity by a small smile and a single question uttered by the Iron Lady. There will be no coming back from that.

Solas: With a smile, he wields kindness as a weapon, exaggerating compliments as the offender grows more and more flustered and embarrassed, realizing that they have mage a tragic mistake by daring to say such a thing to the Inquisitor. If Romanced: His gaze is as sharp as his tongue and if the offender doesn’t start crying right there they certainly will the moment they’re alone. “Do not allow them the satisfaction of hurting you, vhenan. You are perfect exactly as you are.”

As he does, he discreetly scans the room for a second time, reminding you of a lost child desperately seeking out his mother.

"Steve!” You call out, making sure your voice is loud enough to be heard over all the chatter. He turns around immediately, a relieved grin overtaking his features as he walks towards you.
