Reminder to Get Creative and Win a $500 eBay Gift Card

We’re loving the entries so far for our contest to celebrate You Can’t Fake Fashion. The bag auction ended on Monday, but luckily there’s more time for the graphic competition, where we challenge our readers to alter a bag digitally. It’s easy. Just download the tote image and use your imagination (and Photoshop, or whatever software you like). The winner gets $500 worth of eBay goodies. All artwork must be submitted by 12 p.m. EST on April 5th. Enter the contest here

Last Day to Submit for You Can’t Fake FashionTotes Graphic Contest

Earlier in March, we celebrated a bag auction with 90 top designers for You Can’t Fake Fashion. We also launched a contest asking readers to submit their best virtual bag by altering a raw tote digitally. Tomorrow, Friday, April 5th at 12 p.m. is the last moment to submit your graphic design. Just download the tote image and use your imagination. Enter the contest here. The winner gets $500 worth of eBay goodies. Who couldn’t use a shopping spree on eBay?

The Winner of Our You Can’t Fake Fashion Contest Is…

Hark, The Inside Source has found a winner for the graphic contest celebrating eBay and CFDA's You Can’t Fake Fashion campaign! After judging tons of entries for creativity and originality, we award Marcy Castelgrande a $500 eBay gift card for her design “True Beauty” (see her artist statement below). We’d like to thank all our other entries who submitted amazing works.

Title of Submission: True Beauty

Artist Name: Marcy Castelgrande

What is the inspiration behind your submission?

A pure design is an evolution of creativity, inspired by vintage accessories and large floral prints, modern shapes, seasonal colors, and the reflective print trend. This bag illustrates that a true design is not a copy or a counterfeit. It is the love affair of ideas and a growth of creativity, and if these designs become merely clones of one another, the true beauty dies.

You Can’t Fake Fashion Launches with a Bang

Is there anything more fun than collaborating with 90 Top Designers to make a cool bag? Throwing the party to celebrate that collaboration! On Monday night, both Steven Kolb, Chief Executive Officer of the Council Designers of America (CFDA) and Devin Wenig, President of eBay Marketplaces, gathered around a “who’s who” in Fashion to toast to "original design". The campaign You Can’t Fake Fashion (launched the same day) aims at stopping counterfeit dead in its tracks. After dinner, it was my turn to take the floor by manning the turntables and… [MORE] getting the party bouncing with a bevy of hip guests bopping their heads up and down including Mara Hoffman, Pamela Love, Cushnie et Ochs, Rebecca Minkoff, Ruffian, and Steven Alan –  the list goes on and on. The bags (all on display) began to get ogled by party goers ready to take their bids. If you want to jump in the game, take a look at the entire YCFF collection here, and begin your bidding. The original tote is also available for $50. You have 5 more days to select the bag you love. Read more on eBay.
