Connor Murphy + yarn, apples, and flower-crowns

Requested by anonymous

- going to an apple orchard/fall attraction with Connor
- looking at all the cool, rustic stuff for sale before picking apples
- “You should get this organically dyed yarn and knit me a sweater.”
“You have enough sweaters.”
“Yeah but this came from one of those cute little sheep out there.”
- buying lots of yarn and asking to meet the sheep
- deciding that knitting a sweater would take too long so you buy matching sweaters with an apple on the front
- “Baby, take a picture of me with this scarecrow, it looks just like you.”
- sharing an apple cider
- going in a corn maze
- getting lost in the corn maze
- Connor picks you up bridal style and cuts through the corn until you get to the end
- “We did it, babe!”
“Yeah, sure.”
- celebratory make out next to a corn maze
- “We should pick out pumpkins.”
- he disappears with your bag of yarn for a few minutes
- you’re not worried, he’s probably in the restroom
- he comes back with a flower crown
- “Where’d you get this? I didn’t see ‘em in the shop.”
“I kinda made it.”
“You made me a flower crown?”
“Yeah, I know it’s dumb but you always talk about how cute they are and-”
“I love it, Connor!”
- giving him a bear hug
- he explains how he braided the flowers in with the yarn
- which makes you love him even more because he took the time to make you something he knew you’d like
- watching the sunset on the drive home with a bagful of yarn and apples in your lap

My latest crochet pattern is now available at my shop - The Story Book Baby Blanket!!!
-
An embossed photograph album from my mother is the inspiration for this design. Wow, she loves her photo albums and of course they are stuffed full with all kinds of stories :-)
-
This blanket uses worsted weight yarn, organic cotton shown here, and is worked flat.

Ooh, in the spirit of Halloween, what about the male Shepherds' reactions to being sent into a haunted house?

I started something similar so have fun going through a forest with Yarne idk man. Great minds think alike, huh?

(Some of them are staged haunted houses, some of them “real”)

If I’ve left out any favorites, let me know (I pick them kinda randomly)

Inigo: You are half expecting him to chicken out and clutch you in terror. “There’s no such thing as a haunted house,” he boasts boldly as you enter the place. You know that the voice will be filled with false bravado for only so long. You prove to be correct after a few bodiless shadows send the two of you shrieking as you escape.

Lies Knitters Tell Themselves

• I’m not going to cast on anything else until I finish my works in progress
• I’ll definitely put in a lifeline every X rows
• That’ll block out
• I’m going to organize my yarn stash/needles/craft room
