What if was Rurumu that gave Ja'far the jewel, and not Sinbad, to show everyone how proud she was of her son o_o
I don’t know what to say other than, “that would be very cute.” That being said, Rurumu seems to have eased up a bit on her eldest son. To be honest, I never thought the jewel had any sort of sentimental significance. When Aladdin mentioned the gem on his forehead was a gift from Yamuraiha to boost his anti-gravity magic, I thought there was a possibility that it was a magic tool that he had been given for practical purposes.
The idea that it was a gift from Sinbad never crossed my mind. Of course, if you’re a hardocre SinJa shipper, a headcanon that it’s a substitute for a wedding ring makes sense. Alas, the latest chapter of Sinbad no Bouken has debunked both the wedding gift and Yamuraiha theory.
It would be nice to get an omake that explains it. I kind of like the idea that he bought it to “crown” himself as the “king of the civil servants” in the Sindria Kingdom.
Pffft. What a humblebragging little dork. This probably sounds weird, but he reminds me of Sinbad after conquering his first dungeon when he was 14.
Poor Ja’far! Already 14 and he still looks 10.
