I’ve been riding this pony for 7 years. This average, 13.3hh New Forest pony. I started riding him in the riding school in 2006 (I’ve been riding since 1999), before loaning him off them in 2009. It was difficult to make progress with beginners riding him every day but we got so far. Last summer, the riding school shut down and he was put up for sale while I was in a different country. I come from a family that has never even thought of buying a horse. But my parents knew how much he meant to me. We bought him and luckily found cheap livery with friends to help out. Now, he is excelling in dressage, show jumping (up to 80 cm at shows and 1m at home) and we’re going cross country schooling tomorrow with hired transport. He might not be the slimmest, most elegant pony, but I love him ridiculous amounts, and I’m proud of both of us. It must seem weird, me 17 years old with this little 13.3hh pony, but to me it’s far from that.
