Sprint hurdler Rushelle Burton (of SAHS) wins Women’s 100M H Semi-final Heat in 13.37 (PB) at the IAAF World Youth Championships in Donetsk!!!

She was buzzing with confidence after comfortable wins in their heats yesterday. The Carifta Under-17 champion, Burton - was relaxed in her 13.78 victory.

She participated in this morning’s semi-finals (9 a.m. Jamaica time), with the final set to run almost four hours later at 12:40 p.m Jamaica time). Watch live here.

“I think it was a very good run, I didn’t really get a fast start, but otherwise, I think I executed very well, so I am pleased with how my heat went,” said Burton, who also had to contend with a -2.5 headwind.

“It feels good to get the first run at the World Youth Championships out of the way. Now I am hoping to do even better in the next rounds,” Burton added. “I am really confident in myself that I will do well here. I am happy with the run in the heats and I am looking forward to the next rounds.”
