Her Royal Highness Queen BEATRIX of the Netherlands.
in the final month before her abdication our beloved Queen had only a few public appearances left.. ao. the 125th birtday of the Concertgebouw, the opening of the New Rijks Museum and, shown here, the 125th Birtday of the Royal Theatre CARRÉ. and what an appearance she makes.
mr CHRISTIAN BOLTANSKI (Paris, 1944), French sculptor, photographer, painter and film maker, was at the Dutch Photomuseum, http://www.nederlandsfotomuseum.nl, to measure the space where his “CHANCE” will be installed. open for public from the 21st of Januari, as part of the BLACK/WHITE theme of the museum (2012-2014) curated by Anne van der Zwaag.
I shot miss EVA JINEK way back in 2003, at 4am, on a Hasselblad Polaroid with one candle for lighting. I was working as a bartender, being no more than an aspiring photographer at the time, and asked guests who stayed till closing time to pose. most Polaroids got lost or were given away. I held on to this one.
mr JANTAMINIAU had the, well deserved, tremendous honour of dressing Her Royal Highness Princess MAXIMA on the day her husband became KING of the Netherlands, the day she became our QUEEN. and where normally the Dutch are known for having an ‘opinion’ here a country was united in adoration of this Royal Blue Gown.
Jan made the Couture House of JANTAMINIAU immortal.
and I was so lucky he asked me to portray the dress. here with mr Jan Taminiau himself overlooking his creation.
