WCW World Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boyz
[October 2001]

The WWF Invasion period created some interesting title reigns that could have only took place in the WWF. The reason for that is, teams such as The Dudley Boyz and The Hardy Boyz were the WCW World Tag Team Champions, but neither of which ever wrestled in WCW. Instead, The Hardy Boyz defeated Alliance members Booker T and Test for the titles on an episode of Raw, claiming the titles for the WWF. Unfortunately, the Hardyz’ reign as tag team champs lasted less than two weeks, as the duo were defeated by The Dudley Boyz, who would go down in history as the final WCW World Tag Team Champions as the titles were declared defunct on November 18th, 2001.

Dean Ambrose: WWE World Heavyweight Champion, WWE United States Champion (351 Days), WWE Intercontinental Champion, 2016 Money in the Bank Winner.

Roman Reigns: 3x WWE World Heavyweight Champion, 2015 Royal Rumble Winner, WWE Tag Team Champion, 2014 Superstar of the Year Slammy Award Winner.

WWF World Tag Team Champions Kane & X-Pac [April 1999]

The team of Kane and X-Pac was nothing if not unconventional and unpredictable, but made perfect sense at the same time. Both had been betrayed by Triple H at WrestleMania 15, and the pair bonded from their respective dismissale to create a perfect pair. X-Pac accepted Kane for the monster that he was, and the two would go on to defeat Owen Hart and Jeff Jarrett for the WWF World Tag Team Championships on Raw in March of 1999!

If there’s one thing I absolutely LOATHE about the current sorry state of the WWE fandom, it’s people who legitimately believe Roman Reigns stole certain wrestler’s pushes. Today, I read a post in Roman’s search where a user said that they especially started to dislike Reigns as they started to watch him take the pushers of these wrestlers:  Cesaro, Ziggler, Ryback, Miz, Barrett, Sheamus, Bryan, Big E, Bray Wyatt.

  • Dolph Ziggler - 2x World Heavyweight Champion, 4x Intercontinental Champion, 1x United States Champion, 1x Tag Team Champion, MITB Winner
  • The Miz - 1x WWE Champion, 2x United States Champion, 5x Intercontinental Champion, 4x WWE Tag Team Champion, 2x World Tag Team Champion, MITB Winner
  • Sheamus - 1x World Heavyweight Champion, 2x United States Champion, 3x WWE Champion, King of the Ring winner, MITB winner, Royal Rumble winner
  • Daniel Bryan - 1x World Heavyweight Champion, 1x Intercontinental Champion, 1x Tag Team Champion, 1x United States Champion, 3x WWE World Heavyweight Champion, MITB winner, Wrestlemania Main Eventer

Cesaro, Ryback, Barrett, Big E, and Wyatt may not have had those major accolades, but they’ve all received some sort of pushes in their own right. Especially Ryback when he first debuted.

Reigns is not responsible for anyone’s pushes (or lack thereof) but his own. And the fact that people try to use him to blame for other wrestler’s lack of creative direction makes me absolutely sick.

Edge & Christian [April 2, 2000]

In 2000, Edge & Christian’s reign of awesomeness began as the WWF World Tag Team Championship would frequently be held by the duo after several big match situations. At WrestleMania 16, SummerSlam 2000, and WrestleMania 17, Edge & Christian faced off against rivals The Dudley Boyz and The Hardy Boyz in triple threat matches, always containing ladders, but the latter two also containing the added threats of tables and chairs. In all three matches, Edge & Christian proved their dominance as a tag team as they won every one of the matches. In 2003, Christian chose a new partner, Chris Jericho, to compete in the TLC match on Raw for the WWE World Tag Team Championships, but came up short against the champions Kane & The Hurricane.

Johnny Mundo throws serious shade at Roman Reigns
[March 10th, 2016]

One of the premier athletes of Lucha Underground has fired shots at a WWE top dog. Former WWE superstar and Tag Team Champion Johnny Mundo was recently quoted with some harsh words toward Roman Reigns, stating the following:

Roman Reigns, I’d love to wrestle him in like 10 years if he’s still wrestling, because by then hopefully he’d figure out how to work.

Reigns, who in the past has had no problem being vocal, has been quiet regarding the comments. The same could not be said for Reigns’ cousin, WWE Hall Of Famer Rikishi, who stated the following:

Fortunately for Joe Anoa'i, Roman Reigns in just 4 years of wrestling, he has been 2 time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Tag Team Champion, Royal Rumble Winner, WWE Wrestler Of The Year, and Main event WrestleMania! What have you done in your first 4 years of wrestling? Even in 10 years, you won’t be in his level to share the ring. #LetThatMarinate #SamoanDynasty #AnoaiStrong

Shots fired between Mundo and the Samoan dynasty. Mundo better hope Meng doesn’t get a hankering for some Lucha Underground appearances.
