Did you know that the Waterbury branch of UConn has a different mascot from all of the other branches? Rather than Jonathan, the lovable, spirited Husky, we have Old Carl, the mummified pigeon corpse in the stairwell of the Scovill parking garage! As the legend goes, years before any of us came around, Carl used to be a real live not dead living bird! But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked he was smart enough to get into the enclosure, but too stupid to get out.

Sound familiar? Old Carl’s story is eerily reminiscent of the fate you’re likely to endure at the Waterbury branch!

So next time you get to school at 9:24 AM and you’re forced to park across the street, take a moment to appreciate Carl. And remember, everybody ends up like him eventually!
