Here are the renders for this week. Let’s all give a nice welcome to Cao Xiu! Yueying wins this batch. This woman is FLAWLESS!!! The hair, the heels, the earrings and the leather…everything is on point!! Xun Yu returns with throwing knives and that cape makes him look cool! Zhu Ran looks like an adult, which is great. Jiang Wei, Zhuge Dan and Wen Yang are here too!

I was feeling sorry for you before you came out with this speech.

It’s amazing how Myolie Wu plays this speech so straight, complete with the demure ladylike averted gazes and glances. Yongmei really believes that this is something that Wu Pin would do, which goes to show how much she really doesn’t understand him. I think even if he didn’t like Zhou Ying, there would still be no way that Wu Pin would divorce her just to be with Yongmei again. Admittedly, for Zhou Ying, being divorced would not be such a disaster as it might be for other women of her time, and she would probably bounce back without much damage, but to Wu Pin, it would be the height of cruelty and dishonour, and there was really no way he would ever do it, no matter how unpolished Zhou Ying is.

JDS: This production has more costume changes than any other show I’ve ever worked on! But how fun is it to see the characters we all know and love in their party duds? Designs by Bryan Konietzko, Angela Song Mueller, and Christie Tseng. Color by Sylvia Filcak-Blackwolf and Bryan Konietzko. [x]
