“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; or does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.… - Matthew 5:14-15
In the verse quoted above, Christ clearly tells us that as Christians, we are to go out and make Him known by living as He did. By living as Christ and walking in His ways, we allow others around us to see Christ work in our lives. Living by example is one of the many ways to show others how amazing and powerful our God is.
Let us live by example and show the world that Christ lives to this day and is powerfully at work in our everyday lives.
The love of the Lord is relentless and it is by His love that we enjoy the fruits of freedom and the gift of hope. Each of us have the opportunity today to make a decision to accept the Lord into our lives and experience the fullness of His joy.
Let your life be the masterpiece that it was meant to be when God created you. Accept His love into your life and live everyday seeing how His love can transform you from the inside out.
In a world where society is trying to take charge of all things, truth ends up becoming hazy and soon is more than likely to be forgotten. But even in the middle of all of these changes the Bible still remains for us to nourish on and allows us to learn and understand the truth of all things.
The more we absorb ourselves in the truth of the Word of God, we become people filled with the wisdom of God and naturally this allows us to make wise decisions and go forward boldly even in the darkest of places.
And as Christians, we are told to share this with those around us as well so that we may all be protected and guided by God in all that we do. How are you sharing the gospel with those around you?
In Luke 7:11-17, we learn the death of a mother’s only son who was been taken out of Nain (the name of the town) to be buried. Considering that the boy was her only son, you could imagine how heart broken the widow must’ve been. However, just as they were exiting the town of Nain, Jesus and His disciples were about to enter the town and happened to see this funeral procession. Jesus being who He was, was filled with compassion and beelined towards the funeral gathering and before anyone knew it, He had raised the boy from the dead.
Coming back to our own lives, we usually feel broken and defeated when something or someone in our lives has died (both literally and figuratively). This could be a loved one and can also be due to a broken dream, an unfulfilled promise and more. But Christ being who He is, never turns a blind eye at our loss, pain and suffering. By inviting Christ into our lives and allowing Him to take control of it all, He raises up all that is dead within us and makes us new beings. With Christ, you can always be assured that He will turn things around for you.
No matter the season you may be in right now, never forget that the Lord is always close to you and He is working in your life in such radical ways. Just believe!
It is usually said that all that matters in life is how you finish the race. While that may be true, it definitely is not the whole truth. We should come to understand the importance of starting in the right footing in the right place at the right time (which is God’s time). How you start something usually defines its overall outlook and outcome.
If you look over the creation story in the Bible (the book of Genesis), you will come to realize that God started off creation with a great (indescribable) beginning. Seeing what He created was good definitely mattered to Him and it was after He ensured that all was good that He went on to to create the rest of our world.
How are you starting you day? Are you someone who leans more towards the end or are you someone keen on starting off right? Remember that God, having done so much for us, deserves all our praise and thankfulness. Let us be Christians who can truly recognize this (by the move of the Holy Spirit) and start our days off right so that our future would be shaped by the will of our amazing God.
Back in the day, this used to always confuse me. I always wondered why we are told to ‘be afraid" of the Lord. Wasn’t the Lord nice after all? As I grew up to have a tight knit relationship with the Lord over the past few years, I came to understand that what this meant was to allow us to put us into place when it came to our perspective of God.
Being who we are, we tend to be ignorant and we easily find ourselves placing God within the confines of a box. Not only have we totally misunderstood God entirely by doing this, but we face the danger of living a life being lukewarm Christians for the rest of our lives. God is more than our minds can grasp and imagine.
When we learn to fear the Lord, it allows us to see the Lord from a better perspective and from the perspective that He deserves. It is only then that we end up having this crazy awe about Him and we truly see His magnificence and power. Proverbs 31:30 focuses this on women but this verse can equally apply to all of us.
With the week coming to a close, let us take a moment to realize who God really is and the major role He has in our lives. Let us praise Him knowing what a great and mighty Father we have in Him.
During the course of our lifetime, moments come and go. Some of the are moments that we would love to be part of whilst others- not so much. However sometimes things we end up taking up do not go as planned. When this happens. we end up getting frustrated because are are the kind of people who prefer having things done in our own way in our own time.
However, God created us for His purpose and each of us are tasked with an assignment given to us by God. God, in His amazing plan for us, has marked everything in our lives to take place according to His time. God knows is better than anyone else and therefore naturally, abiding by His direction will lead us towards fruitfulness.
Remember that you were created with purpose and just like everyone else, the moment will come when you get to go out into the world and shine the light of Christ.
If you have read the Bible from the Old Testament to the New, you will find throughout people being rescued by God even in the most desperate of times. It should naturally lead us to understanding a bit about the nature of God and in this case it is that He never fails to protect us from moments and situations that would potentially bring us harm.
When we are with Christ and have Him leading us in our lives, no darkness has the ability to touch our lives. God loves us dearly and we are His children. He protects us and guides us to a place where we can find refuge and comfort in Him.
Are you in times where you find yourself scared and afraid.Be strong and take heart in knowing that God is always with you and that He will never ever let you down.
In a world so demanding, we find our selves constantly exhausted in our aim to cover our responsibilities and tasks as much as possible. As we continue to live in this exhausting lifestyle, sooner or later we find ourselves unsatisfied with pretty much all things and the thought of wanting to do something different crosses our minds in the hopes that we can find rest and peace in the middle of this chaotic world.
However if we are not careful, we can end up looking for the things that can make us happy in the wrong places, which would eventually lead us to unanticipated trouble and complication.
The Word of God exists to feed us and nourish us with the goodness of God and strengthen us to face a merciless world. In our thirst to find peace and joy, we should therefore seek the Word of God which adds to our life rather than take anything away from it.
It is true when the Bible tells us that we will be satisfied in God when we have Him in our lives. Unlike the things of our everyday world, God provides us with fulfillment, joy, peace, security and more and the best part of it all is that we are all provided with these for eternity.
The moment we find ourselves secure in His grasp, it is from that point onwards that we can truly feel we can never be brought down by the world even when it tries so hard to. And the reason why is because in God, we truly have all that we need.
Just as water quenches our thirst and ensures that our body is strengthened, the Word of God blesses, heals. and brings life into our soul. In a world where there is so much chaos, it give us wisdom and knowledge that allows us to live as Christians pursuing God.
