wrong goodbye

30 day otp challenge | day 2: on a date

“You don’t have to talk to me, you know. They can’t see me. It’s like you’re talking to yourself.”

“I am painfully aware.”

“Then why’re we having this conversation?”

“Because I - I don’t know, fuck. I like talking to you. And people already think I’m insane. Really, what eighteen-year-old guy in his right mind owns a flower shop?”

“You like talking to me?”

“Did I say that?”

“Yeah, kinda.”

“Right, well, pretend I didn’t.”

“(Y/N), Jeff is here!” Your brother Alex shouted as he knocked on your bedroom door. You excitedly opened the door as it was your ever first date with a guy. “You look amazing.” He complimented you as he examined your look.

“Thanks, Lex.” You kissed him on his cheek as you felt little more confident with your brother’s compliment.

“Truth.” He smiled as you both went downstairs. He has always been an overprotective brother and it sometimes annoyed you, because he was worse than your parents when it came to you and boys.

“Sweet.” You said as you opened the front door. You saw a nervous Jeff waiting for you outside and you couldn’t help but laugh at him. “Hey Jeff!”

“Hey, (Y/N)! Hey, Alex!” He politely greeted and you flashed him a sweet smile, although you wanted to give him a tight hug for your contentment.

“Atkins, not later that 10 pm. Okay?” Your brother strictly imposed and you saw Jeff gulping as he became more nervous.

“Alex, I am not 12 anymore.” You shot him a death glare and he rolled his eyes.

“Alright, 11 pm and that’s final!” He crossed his arm and the only thing you did was to huff.

“Alex Standall!” You protested.

“It’s perfectly fine, (Y/N). Alex, she’ll be home by 11 pm.” Jeff courteously assured your bigger brother and you just shook your head. His nervousness seemed to fade away.

“Good! Take care of her if you don’t want a baseball bat stuck up in your ass.” Alex sassily warned and you dragged Jeff away from the front yard as you were fed up by your brother’s behaviour. He crossed the line.

“Fuck off, Alex.” You rolled your eyes and he just laughed because he knew that he successfully annoyed you.

“Enjoy!” He winked at you and Jeff and he went inside the house, closing the front door.

“Asshole.” You shouted and Jeff just laughed because he found your relationship with your brother amazing. “Don’t mind him, Jeff.”

“It’s alright.” He smiled at you as you started to walk towards the movie theatre. “He’s perfectly got the point.” He was nervous when he first saw you, but then he felt comfortable, luckily.

“But we have time just until 11 pm.” You fussed. “He’s annoying when he acts like this.”

“He loves you and he wants the best for you, (Y/N).” Jeff explained as he knew how boys are made of. “But don’t worry because I am not failing your brother.” Some of them are jerks and they would just break girls’ hearts, but Jeff wasn’t one of them. He was an angel and a gentleman.

“Oh my God, I can’t believe that you are defending my brother! I am remembering you that you are going out on a date with me and not with that pain in the ass.” You rolled your eyes, but you let out a loud laugh as you heard Jeff laughing.

“Oh, right!” He agreed and you just laughed even more. “But the first rule is court the family first.” He winked at you as he wrapped his arms around your shoulder.
In no time, you arrived at the movie theatre and you stood in front of the ticket booth with Jeff.

“What film would you like to watch?” Jeff asked you as he was looking at the movie posters.

“30 ways to die!” You happily exclaimed and he smiled at you. It was a horror film, but you didn’t want to choose the romantic one because you thought that it was so cliché.

“Two tickets for 30 ways to die is it then.” He handed the money to the clerk and he got the two tickets.

“Enjoy!” The clerk exclaimed enthusiastically.

“Thank you.” He thanked politely. It amazes you how educated Jeff is. He was grown well by his parents. He was not one of those asshole jocks at school and you liked him for that.

“Thank you.” You gratefully thanked him.

“Not a biggie!” He caressed your cheek with his thumb and then you proceeded inside the movie theatre. There you saw Clay and Hannah as they were talking of their stuffs while working.

“Oh hey!” Clay greeted the two of you and he did his usual handshake with Jeff. “I bet you are watching Never Say Goodbye tonight.”

“Wrong guess, Jensen!” You winked at him and you noticed Jeff corrugating his forehead. Was he jealous? “Hey Hannah!”

“Hi there!” She flashed you her sweetest smile and you thought that she was really beautiful.

“How much is it?” Jeff asked as he was about to take his billfold out.

“Everything’s on me tonight! Enjoy your date, love birds!” Clay teased the two of you and Jeff just shook his head for his best friend’s attitude.

“See you later!” Hannah winked at me. “Enjoy!”

“Thank you so much.” You both smiled at your friends and went to the screening room. You were just right in time and the film has started.

From the beginning of the film, you already regretted that you chose a horror film. You were so scared and you never shouted like that before. Luckily, there was Jeff who hugged you in every scary scene, even though he risked getting his tympanum broken. But in short, he was hugging you the whole time.

You didn’t mind it at first, but then you loved the feeling of having his arms wrapped around your shoulders, so you went with it.

“Great film, isn’t it?” Jeff winked at you as the lights turned on after the film. “Let’s watch another horror movie?”

“Cut it off, Atkins!” You laughed as you pretended to be annoyed at him. “But thank you.”

“You’re always welcome, (Y/N).” He wrapped his arms around your shoulders and you walked out of the room.

“How was the film?” Clay asked in a teasing tone and you just shook your head.

“Great.” Jeff gave two thumbs up and a wink in response. Hannah and Clay giggled as they surely heard the screams coming from the room, but you shook it off.

“Have a good night, guys.” Clay sweetly said.

“Good night.” You and Jeff said in unison. You noticed Jeff trying not to smile as Clay was silently teasing him.

“Bring her home before her curfew or Alex will hate you forever.” Hannah warned and you all laughed at the thought of the curfew.

“We better get going then.” Jeff seriously said this time and you said your goodbyes to Hannah and Clay.

You started to walk way back home and, fortunately, you still had time before the curfew. Alex was serious about it and you had no guts to violate his rules or you knew that he would be worse than he already was.

“Thank you once again, Jeff.” You said as you reached your block. “I had fun, even if it wasn’t obvious.”

“I had fun too, thank you.” He slightly giggled as he thanked you and you found him cute and sexy.

There was a moment of silence and you both found yourselves leaning in for a good night kiss.

The thought of kissing Jeff’s lips made your heart skip every beat of it. You shared a sweet kiss while he caressed your cheek and you loved it, although it had a popcorn taste, but it soon ended because your nosey brother opened the door and you both had to act normal.

“Exact 11 pm. Great job, Jeff.” Alex smiled sincerely as he hid his phone that served him to see the time. “No more curfew next time.”

“Finally!” You rejoiced because of what your brother had said and he just let out a laugh.

“Idiot.” He playfully insulted you. “Let’s go?”

“Yes, sir!” You nodded as you flashed Jeff a smile once again. “See you on Monday?”

“See you on Monday.” Jeff smiled widely as he thought of the kiss that you had shared. You were still blushing and feeling nervous because of it, but you managed to not get caught by your brother.

“Bye!” You said in unison and you watched him as he walked back home.

“So, how was the kiss?” Alex quickly asked as you entered the house. There he was, being nosey once again.

“Oh my God, Alex!” You covered your face as you felt the burning sensation for one more time. You felt uncomfortable talking of these things with your big brother.

“He better not hurts you or the baseball bat!” He winked at you and you both laughed loudly. You finally understood that he was just protecting you and Jeff was doing the right thing to court your family first before you.

“Thank you, asshole.” You hugged your dorky brother to thank him sincerely.

“No problem.” He hugged you back and gave you a kiss on your forehead while he played with your hair.

You were happy that your first date with Jeff went well and, of course, you were grateful to have Alex as your brother, even though he was so overprotective and vexatious.

this got sorta long and its ramble-y and i’m sorry there’s probably some unpopular opinion-y stuff but that’s fine. if you read all of this and still love me <33333 also tldr: still ride or die, babes. just frustrated with the writers and i may have also gone on a mini bandaid rampage??? somehow??? i’m so sorry i’m like this..

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, but nothing will ever be as bad as the Lodge stuff for me. That was the bottom of my robron barrel, the was a big low for me, that was my ‘can i still do this’ moment. I stuck through it because I couldn’t give them up then and I won’t let shoddy storylining do it to me now. I knew the baby reveal would be huge and dramatic, it had to be after last night’s episode and their conversation about it. But this episode felt so similar to those Lodge scenes for me in some ways, where my heart broke and my chest ached and I wondered briefly how the hell can they do this to them? how can they come back from this? again.

But the thing is, I do think they can come back from it, baby or no baby (as much as I’d like there to be no baby). They’ve come back from worse. And Aaron was right; he is different. He even said it yesterday, that Robert didn’t have to tell him, he didn’t wait until he was caught out like he had the last time. Love is messy and hard, and yeah there are bumps, some larger than others, but when you really, truly love someone you take the mistakes you’ve made and you work through it. You fight for it (not physically, I think Aaron’s already learned that lesson enough times now thanks ED can we try WORDS NOW?). No matter my views on the lack of consent or how I could do without them bringing an innocent child into the mix or how frustrated I am that Marlon seemed more concerned about the situation than Paddy or this whole ridiculous Victoria and Rebecca thing, i was still struck by how well Aaron and Robert communicated yesterday in comparison to how poorly they seemed to communicate tonight. They’re doing the same “well let’s not properly talk about it, side step it, and let it fester until one of us explodes” stuff they’ve always done in the past. They argue, they don’t listen to each other properly, they run away from each other in the heat of the moment, and nothing gets solved. Robert wants to put a non-waterproof bandaid on it, one of those shitty ones that comes off the second you move wrong, and that does feel like a kind of step backwards yeah. But I’ve never ever looked at character development as just an upwards slope where the character grows and gets better and doesn’t stumble a bit, cos holy shit I know these are fictional characters, but no one is like that. That’s just so fucking unrealistic. If there’s no realism at all to fictional characters we’re gonna be fucking bored in a second. Sure we all grow and change for the better over time, but we’ve all made mistakes. We’ve all said shit we shouldn’t have, we’ve all done things we shouldn’t have, but we’ve apologized and learned and done better the next time. And maybe we stumble again and again with the same things, but you keep trying. That’s true character development imho, there’s no ‘going backwards’ in that for me.

But I also have hope in Aaron to maybe be the one to lead this towards something good, to maybe use what he learns in counseling for positive steps forward? My lil bub who went to an emergency counseling session, realizing that he needed to do so without being shoved into it by anyone else. He made that decision. But you don’t change overnight. Anger issues, self harm, depression, self loathing, whatever issues Robert’s dealing with etc. isn’t going to just disappear after a few therapy sessions. Nothing’s going to change overnight with someone’s love and one ‘magical’ counseling session. Mental health doesn’t work like that. It takes time and open, honest communication. I’m hoping that’s what the writers are trying to show. It doesn’t seem like it’s coming across that way just yet, but I’m hoping beyond hope that the communication we got yesterday was supposed to be a sign of that ‘it’ll take time and we’ll stumble but eventually we’ll get there’ growth. This being Emmerdale though, I’m keeping my bar very low.

I do think this is Robert finally breaking down though, I think this is him losing his cool and his patience. I think it’s finally, and about damn time, for Robert to have that moment (without violence, Robert, for the love of god without violence *swats Robert’s head with a rolled up newspaper*). So in a sense I do get it. I get the putting the decisions about the baby on Aaron (as much as I hate it, that’s just.. fucking writers…), I get his anger and frustration to a point. He’s more terrified of losing Aaron than anything else because Aaron is his world. He’s said it time and time again that the thought of losing Aaron is so unbearable to him. So I have to believe they’re gonna be okay, eventually. It might take some time and we might have to watch some pretty rough moments, but I have to believe that they’re going to fight tooth and nail for each other, for this rollercoaster of a relationship. Because they promised each other messed up forever.

anonymous asked:

i'm sorry if this comes across wanky but i thought the alpha vampire was a bit under used? it's pretty unclear who the season antagonist is even this far into the season, and idk, i thought he could have been interesting. that there could have been more suspense build or something. i mean he did just wipe out all but 2 of the bmol in the US, but then he died. and that was that?

Hey, no worries, I don’t read that as wanky at all. Criticism based on factual stuff is always more than welcome, otherwise what’s the point?

It’s interesting what you say about the season’s antagonist. It’s true that we don’t have a real SuperMegaVillain this season - Lucifer wanted to do his own thing and now he’s locked up, that demon fetus is not threatening anyone (yet), Mick is sort of a good guy, Toni was featured so prominently then disappeared (and what’s up with that?), Crowley is being plain adorkable, and Mr Ketch, despite his many faults, could actually be the most interesting addition to the cast we’ve had in a while. So what’s up with that, uh?

My guess is that they finally saw that tumblr post with three million notes about Lucifer’s second cousin, Bruce, who’s got inimaginable powers and a violent thirst for destruction (you know the one) and realized they had to change something, or this show would have become a parody of itself. We’ve seen God, after all - how much bigger can you get? Also, personally, what first got me hooked to Supernatural weren’t the monsters, exactly, but the well-rounded characters and the shades of grey. I remember having intense debates (with myself, because I wasn’t in the fandom back then) about Sam choosing to work with Ruby, and I don’t feel like we’ve witnessed a lot of stuff like that since then - in fact, I kind of miss it? I mean, normally the choices Sam and Dean agonize over are about their own lives and death - they hardly ever sit around and debate over the nature of good and evil, and even destiny has taken a seat back since they basically defeated God’s whole scheme and Cas destroyed what was left.

No, the impression I have is that they’re going back to that thing, and yay! - the kind of discussion where nobody’s right and nobody’s wrong - so we’re heading towards a time of pain and betrayal and difficult decisions, but nothing on a ‘save the cheerleader, save the world’ scale. Just, you know, more basic stuff like, is a racial genocide ever a good idea? Does your nature determine your actions? Is family people you’re born with or people you choose?

In this sense, the Alpha’s death worked out fine for me. His role in this episode was not that of the big baddie. He was there simply to give the vampires a way in - we’ve known for a while that the BMoL are not as strong and well-informed as they pretend to be, but Sam and Dean didn’t know that. All they’ve seen are the shiny weapons, the efficient killing, the sneers, the hacking of government satellites. And the thing is, Sam would never work with the top dog - that’s simply not who he is. So if they wanted him to switch sides, they needed him to see the BMoL are simply people trying their best - and failing. And with all those gadgets, the writers needed to come up with something powerful in order to show the BMoL’s weaknesses. Once upon a time, they would have invented a new villain out of thin air, but this season’s been all about acknowledging the show’s past - hence the return of the Alpha. The fact they needed the Colt to kill him was another elegant touch, because it highlighted Sam’s history with the gun and Mary’s choices about it.

The thing is, Supernatural is about Sam and Dean, which means every other character is used to showcase their actions and the reasons behind them. This is sometimes frustrating, because in the past twelve years they’ve created such a rich and diverse world of heroes and villains - personally, I’d happily watch a whole series of unconnected episodes just about them (Charlie’s adventures in Oz, Benny, Crowley’s childhood, how Gabriel became Loki…), because the truth is, Supernatural will never do them justice. Sure, it’ll give them interesting motivations and - if they’re lucky - a dramatic death, but there is so much more about them, right? and that’s both the beauty and the blemish of this show: a universe of people who’re colourful and vibrant and larger than life, and now you blink, and bye, they’re gone.

I guess that’s what fanfiction is for?

(Sigh.)

Some time (Peter Parker x Reader)

Request: Could you please do an imagine where Peter and you become lab partners and shortly afterwards friends and you think he likes you but he doesnt. You tell him but he turns you down. Then at the Honecoming dance you go alone after weeks of not talking and he sees you and suddenly regrets everything. And could the Vulture or someone attack the school and he saves everyone then he shows up at her house in his Spidey costume and tells her and she then turns him down. Im sorry I know its a lot but plz!

A/N: I don’t really like how this turned out, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless. It feels nice being back after so many months. All the love xx

Going to prom alone was something you had dreaded since you started high-school; and yet, there you were, standing in the corner and looking at everybody dancing together.
You look at Peter, dancing next to Liz and laughing at whatever she’s saying. Looking at them, you can only think about the day you told Peter you liked him, convinced he would tell you that he liked you too after weeks of -what you had considered intentionally- touching your hands and looking at you during lab hours. He had been surprised when you told him, and you had thought that to be something good. It was not. He turned you down; softly and sweetly, but he turned you down.
You had already bought your prom ticket and dress, so you had no other option than to attend. What would you have told your parents, who so kindly had paid for everything in hopes of seeing you with a date?
You huffed and looked at your watch, deciding it was late enough to go home without your parents thinking anything had gone wrong. You quickly said goodbye to your friends and walked towards the door, not noticing Peter’s gaze on you.
Just as you were about to open the door, a window broke. Everyone began screaming, and when you turned around you saw a man flying across the gym. The Vulture, you thought. You didn’t know what to do. Your eyes quickly scanned the gym trying to find your friends, but there was no luck. Everybody kept running around trying to hide and you were stuck next to the door, people around you trying to open them, but they were locked.
‘’Spider-man,’’ the Vulture said, ‘’I know you are here. If you don’t want me to ruin everything around here and kill everyone, I’d suggest you come out and give me a little bit of a fight.’’
Everybody opened their eyes at the mention of Spider-man being there and heads started to turn. A second later the superhero appeared, hanging on his webs.
‘’Leave everyone out of this,’’ the masked superhero shouted, not getting too close to the Vulture.
His voice sounded familiar, but you noticed that he was trying to make it lower.
‘’This fight is between you and I’’ he said.
After that, both of them started fighting, everyone in the gym looking at them. You heard the police cars approaching the school and saw Spider-man stick the Vulture to the wall with his webs right before the police came in, opening the doors to the gym from outside. You quickly got out, stressed, shocked and scared.
Running home as fast as you could with your high heels on your hands, you changed into your pajamas right as you got into your room. You quickly messaged your friends, trying to make sure everyone was okay, and sighed when you got messages assuring you of their wellbeing. You lie on your bed, looking at the ceiling and finally processing everything that had happened after the shock had worn out. You finally let out a sigh and run your hand through your hair, not knowing how to react at the way the night had turned out.
Your thoughts were interrupted by someone knocking on your window, and you turned your head, furrowing your eyebrows as to who would be there. Much to your surprise, you were faced with Spider-man. You didn’t move, not knowing what to do. He finally motioned for you to open the window, and you guessed there was nothing wrong in doing that, so you did.
‘’Hey’’ he whispered.
You didn’t say anything, narrowing your eyes and waiting for him to say something else. He started taking off his mask and you opened your mouth, wanting to say something but not knowing what. When his mask was finally off, you were faced with Peter. You didn’t move, shocked. It kind of made sense -the voice, the skipping class; yet you still didn’t know what to do.
‘’Aren’t you gonna say anything?’’ he softly asked. You shook your head and waited for him to continue. ‘’I’m sorry I didn’t tell you.’’
You walked to your bed and sat there, still looking at him. He stood in the middle of your room, mask on his hand and looking around, trying to figure out what words to say.
‘’I came because I wanted to apologize’’ he finally said. ‘’I shouldn’t have rejected you. I know realize it was a mistake and I… I actually like you a lot.’’
You looked at him, processing everything.
‘’I…’’ you started. ‘’I don’t know what to say. I don’t mean to be rude, but I can’t be with you.’’
He looked surprised and lost, and he opened and closed his mouth repeatedly, not knowing what to say.
‘’You see,’’ you continued, ‘’I have finally accepted that you didn’t like me, and I’m fine with it. I also can’t be with you knowing you are Spider-man. I can’t live worrying about you being okay; I just can’t.’’
He run a hand through his hair and looked at the ground.
‘’Okay’’ he whispered, turning around to live through the window, already putting on his mask.
‘’Peter,’’ you said before he left. He turned around and looked at you, the mask only covering his eyes, ‘’I would like for us to keep talking. Maybe in some time I’ll decide that I’m ready to be with you. Until then, I would like it if you came here whenever you need help with anything. Please.’’
He smiled softly and nodded, finally putting on his mask completely.
‘’I’ll look forward to that day’’ he said before slinging off your window and into the night.
