wreck it ralph confessions

“I’m not happy at all with the “Wreck-It Ralph 2” announcement. Loved the first, easily my favorite of Disney’s most recent offerings (yes, even over “Zootopia”), but I have no interest in “Ralph and Vanellope In Cyberspace” and am bothered by the unlikelihood of Felix, Sgt Calhoun, and the other Sugar Rush kids getting little more than brief cameos if even that..”

Has no one noticed that Disney has been moving away from romance lately? The romances in “Wreck-it Ralph” and “Frozen” were downplayed and “Brave” and “Big Hero 6″ had no romance whatsoever in favor of showing other kinds of relationships. These movies were fine. Why all the cries for Nick and Judy to hook up?

I hope Disney/DreamWorks/Pixar are gonna make more movies like Brave, Rise Of The Guardians, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Princess, and the Frog, Hotel Transylvania, Wreck-It Ralph, and Epic. I also hope Studio Ghibli makes more amazing movies, too(And the “Strong Female Protagonist” vibe it sends off). They give out a good message to people I think, so I really hope they make more movies like them.

Part of me wants “Moana” to do well, but the rest of me knows that far too many people only want it to do well because they want everyone to forget “Frozen” and/or for social justice slacktivism reasons. And what are these people planning to do should “Moana” do well enough for “Zootopia” to go the way of “Wreck-It Ralph” and “Big Hero 6”?

“At first, I was a little disappointed that my upcoming Disney cruise is on the Dream. I’m beyond sick of "Cars” (which Disney is just as bad if not worse about over-promoting as “Frozen”), and both the Dream and Fantasy unfortunately themed their quick-service counters after “Cars”. But I’ve since heard that a “Wreck-It Ralph”-themed sweet shop is being installed on the Dream when it goes into drydock, and my cruise is after that. Now I feel better about being “stuck” on the Dream.“
