Summary: You wake up one morning feeling great and realizing this is the best morning that you and the boys have had in awhile, until its all ripped away. You should know if its too good to be true, it probably is.
Yay! Part 5 guys! This is great. I have officially finished writing the whole thing. There are going to be two more parts after this one. I hope you guys have enjoyed it just as much as I have writing it. Now I can’t wait to work on my other story for you guys. Love Y’all!!
I finally snapped out of it, and headed to the back yard where everyone was. I stepped outside and almost immediately, Eli was running up to me. I thought she was going to stay stuck to Sam all day.
“Daddy! Daddy! Look what Uncle Sam and Aunt Jessica got me!” She was swinging her wrist in my face.
“Whoa! Okay, let me see.” I grabbed her wrist and saw a charm bracelet wrapped around it.
“See! Sam said that the books are his, the flower is Jessica’s, the heart is mommy’s…” She pointed each out as she told me who they stand for, this little girl is so cute. “… the blue bear is grandpas, the pink bear is grandmas, and this one, Uncle Sam said the car is yours daddy.” The car is uncanny. It looks almost exactly like the Impala.
“That’s really pretty baby girl. Did you say thank you?”
“Okay, good girl.” I gave her a kiss on her head. This felt so right. I never thought I would be a good dad. I know I practically raised Sammy but, this just feels different, and I am weirdly loving it. I stood up and looked over at Sam. He smiled at me and I returned one.
“Hey, I thought it was your birthday.” I raised my eyebrows and he shrugged.
“Nah, we wanted to get her something. Consider it an early birthday present for her.”
“Alright! Food is ready!” We all turned to see dad taking the last of the burgers off the grill and turning it off.
We all went inside and got our plates together, Y/N got Eli’s. We all sat at the table and started to eat. This is definitely one thing I miss about the normal life.
“Eli, use your spoon please sweetheart.” Y/N reached over and handed her her spoon. I looked over and saw Eli trying to eat her baked beans with her bare hands. “Sam, did Eli tell you how much of a big girl she is now?” Y/N seemed excited.
“No. She’s already big enough. What, is she joining me at the law firm now?” We all laughed.
“No. Eli tell uncle Sam what you can do now.” Y/N turned to her.
“I go potty on the big potty now!” Eli kicked her legs.
“No way! Are you serious!?” Y/N nodded. “Wow, you are a big girl.” Eli just smiled and giggled a bit. “How long have you guys been doing that?”
“About two weeks.” Y/N answered with a smile.
“She’s been going for two weeks or she’s been training for two weeks?” Sam was shocked.
“Both.” Y/N shot back almost just as shocked. Sams eyes widened.
“Ya, I know. She’s only had two accidents the whole time.” Y/N nodded.
We all sat there for about an hour or so eating and talking. I couldn’t stop smiling at the sight in front of me. My family laughing and happy. Alive. I don’t want to leave. I don’t. I watched as Y/N and Sam threw their heads back laughing at something Eli said. How much would the real Y/N and Sam hate me if I were to stay? This is the life I always wanted for us.
Mom got up and started grabbing our plates and some other dishes. Y/N soon followed. They seem to be very close. I always figured they would be if they ever got the chance to meet. Jess started to put the food away. Dad, Sam and Eli went into the living room to watch something on TV and stay out of the girl’s hair while they cleaned.
I stepped out back to take a breather. I watched the girls through the window cleaning, talking and laughing. I looked over to see dad, Sam and Eli in the other room. Eli dancing around, dad and Sam watching her and laughing. I turned away to face the yard. Am I really thinking of staying? Could I really leave Sam and Y/N? The real Sam and Y/N. I know I shouldn’t. But how can I give this up?
As this battle kept going on in my head, I watched as the sun was making it’s way to the horizon. It still has some time. It’s late afternoon, probably about 4 or so. What am I supposed to do? As I was trying to come up with answers, I felt arms snake around my waist. I sighed and looked to the ground. Is this supposed to be a sign?
“What are you doing out here all by yourself?” Y/N kissed my shoulder.
“Just thinking.” I looked up to stare at the horizon again.
“Whatcha thinking about?” It took me a second to answer.
“About how happy I am.”
“Well that’s good. I figured you’d be thinking about what I promised for later tonight.” She came around to my front and looked up at me, smiling. I grew a smile and let out a laugh.
“Oh, trust me, I haven’t stopped thinking about that.” She laughed.
“I figured. Come on, Sams going to open presents. Then we’ll have some cake, then we should probably get going, so we can get Eli ready for bed.” She grabbed my hand and we slowly made our way to the house. We stopped a couple feet away from the door. She turned to look at me.
“Oh, and your mom and I made you a pie earlier, while we were decorating. It’s in the oven staying warm. I figured you would want that instead of cake.” My eyes widened along with my smile.
“God you’re awesome. What did I do to deserve you?”
“I don’t know. But whatever it was, I’m glad you did.”
“Me too.” She leaned forward and kissed me. We both smiled into the kiss. We pulled away and just looked at each other for a minute, then she pulled me inside. Sam opened his gifts and we all enjoyed desert. I shared my pie.
“Happy Birthday Uncle Sam!” Eli yelled and ran into his arms.
“Oh thank you sweetheart. Your so awesome, you know that. Thank you for my present.” Sam hugged her back with a huge grin.
“You’re welcome! I love you uncle Sam.” Eli didn’t want to let go of him.
“I love you too baby girl.” Sam put Eli down, and she went to say goodbye to Jess, mom and dad. Y/N was putting our stuff in the car. I turned to Sam and brought him in for a hug.
“Happy Birthday little brother.”
“Thanks man.” He pulled away. “You doing okay? You seem like you’ve been a little distracted the last couple hours.”
“Ya. Ya I’m fine. Just getting tired. Ya know, busy day.”
“Ya, it was fun though.”
“It was. Definitely was. I’m glad we could all get together.”
“Ya me too.” We both looked over to mom and dad as Y/N made her way to grab Eli, so she could put her in her car seat.
“That’s one hell of a girl you got there Dean. She’s a talker, she’s smart, funny, beautiful. She’s perfect.” Sam and I were still watching everyone say goodbye.
“Which girl you talking about?” We both looked back at each other. Took a second but we smiled and laughed.
“Both I guess.” Sam laughed a little more, I just smiled. We looked back to the family. “I wasn’t too specific there was I?”
“Not so much. But ya, they are great aren’t they.”
“Ya. I’m glad to see you so happy. You deserve it.” I looked back to him.
“You do too.” He looked back at me and we smiled at each other.
“Bye grandma, bye grandpa!” Eli’s voice pulled us from staring at each other. Y/N came over to us.
“Alright birthday boy.” Sam laughed, glanced down to the ground then back to Y/N. “We got to get going, but we’ll see you guys tomorrow?”
“Ya, what are we doing?”
“Well Eli wants to go to the zoo, so I figured why not all of us go. Get as much time together as we can before you two leave.”
“Alright, sounds fine to me.” Y/N smiled and then wrapped her arms around him. After a minute they pulled away.
“Alright, see you guys tomorrow.” Y/N walked backwards towards the car as she waved bye. As Y/N put Eli in the car, I said goodbye to Jess then mom and dad.
“Thanks for lunch dad.”
“Well lunch slash dinner.” he shot back with a grin.
“Well ya” I tilted my head and he patted my arm. Then I turned to mom.
“Thanks mom. For everything.”
“Oh, no problem sweetie. Thank you for coming. We miss you guys.” She placed her hands on my cheeks.
“We miss you too.” I stared at her. I miss her so much. I reluctantly put my hands over hers, and pulled them to my lips, kissed them, and then made my way to the car.
“Drive safe!” Sam shouted as I made my way around to the drivers side. I looked back at them, smiled and waved one last time before I got in. With one last glance we were off.
I can’t do this. I want to. God I want to. But the real Sam and Y/N need me. Their probably looking for me right now. Ya this life is great, but it’s not mine. Not really anyway, I need to go back home.
We haven’t been driving more than 5 minutes, when I looked in the rear view mirror and saw Eli was out. I smiled as I looked at her. God I’ll miss her.
“She’s had a busy day.” Y/N quietly said beside me.
“So have you. You sound tired.” She gave me the sleepy smile I know all too well proving I was right.
“Ya, I guess I am a bit tired.”
“Well maybe you should take a quick nap. I’ll wake you up when we’re home.” I looked over in time to see her nod and curl up on the seat next to me.
I stopped as we came up on a red light. I looked down at her, she looks like she’s already out. So beautiful. So peaceful. I looked back at Eli. Why couldn’t this Djinn put me in my worse nightmare? Make it easier for me to leave.
I looked forward again, just in time for the light to turn green. I put my foot on the accelerator and made my way into the intersection. I saw bright lights out of the corner of my eye to my left. I started to turn my head to see what it was. When all of a sudden, everything went black.
