what kind of music do you think the amis listen to? i've been trying to figure it out for ages but like...?
i had to meditate on this for a while (music is really important) but i think i finally got it. i also linked specific songs i think they’d like?? disclaimer: i’m obviously very biased and have my own tastes and opinions and blah blah blah be nice ok here we go:
Enjolras: Nothing too recent, he mainly relies on Courfeyrac to keep him updated on what’s popular (but he’s a hipster at heart so he really doesn’t like anything Courf ever plays for him, with one notable exception). Definitely a Bon Jovi fan. Bastille, obviously. Listens to Imagine Dragons while sitting on the roof at dusk, deep in thought. Also don’t ask me why but I think he’d like Muse. Grantaire introduced him to Portugal. The Man and he really likes them (even if a lot of their stuff is pretty cynical). He and R also occasionally blast Fall Out Boy while driving with the windows rolled down, screaming the lyrics (it’s the only healthy outlet Enjolras has for all that righteous rage and passion inside him, and seeing the tension ease out of his eyes and the slight smile light up his features afterward is something R feels particularly proud of helping with).
Combeferre: probably into lots of instrumental, from a bunch of different eras. He’ll have classical music or soundtracks (lotr for sure) playing while he’s reading or studying, jazz while he’s cooking or cleaning or just chilling at home; modern stuff like Blackmill or The Glitch Mob or Ratatat (omg he’d LOVE Ratatat) on his mp3. Also like. Mumford and Sons bluegrass hipster type stuff.
Jehan: Chillwave stuff like Odesza and Slow Magic and electro-pop Purity Ring type music. Soft acoustic romantic music like Jack Johnson and Ed Sheeran. They’d probably like really indie stuff too like Grizzly Bear. They would love Florence and the Machine. And, idk, probably some really weird shit no one else in Les Amis gets (”jehan why are you listening to bagpipes interspersed with whale noises and windchimes” “it speaks to me”).
Bahorel: Ok. Ok ok. So there’s definitely Queen and AC/DC on his playlist, no question. And more classic and progressive rock like Deep Purple and Pink Floyd and Red Hot Chili Peppers. He’d also love Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé, not gonna lie. And he would know like every 80′s hit ever made (when Courf starts belting out Take On Me Bahorel is right there with him, the two of them hitting that high note together is frankly astonishing to witness). He is also the biggest Taylor Swift fan do nOT ARGUE WITH ME ON THIS.
Maybe you should take a piece of advice from a woman who has pushed away every chance of happiness because it was never enough. If it’s within your grasp, if you know where it is and who it’s with, then you should run to it, grasp it and never let it go.
the problem with Raising Home is that I keep thinking of more and more scenes to write before I finish my current scenes so now there’s just a giant pileup of 50 unfinished segments and my brain won’t shut up with the whole “omg BUT WHAT IF–” and I’ll be like “no no shut up don’t do it hoe” and then my brain continues like “–WE MAKE THIS HAPPEN” andddddd then I’ll be like “ok ok that’s really good maybe just write a couple sentences for fun” BUT THEN it turns into a whole giant 10k of new scene AND THIS IS HOW my companion piece went from 20k to 110k in four months
Do you think you can write like, a VERY short dabble on Justice dealing with catcallers? Either in Awakening or DA2, which ever you like.
(Okay ngl I kinda jumped at the opportunity to write this instead of working on my currently piling up WIPs because I LOVE WRITING JUSTICE SO MUCH OMG, he’s actually my favourite to write, and I never bloody well get to. So thank you nonny, for giving me the opportunity to write about the precious angry spirit bae beating up assholes. This is a good day. Ahaha whoops this isn’t short at all oh well)
Anders was on his way back to his clinic from the Hanged Man, where he’d somehow been convinced to play a few rounds of Wicked Grace this afternoon, when he heard some sort of commotion ahead on the street. He could hear several male voices, but couldn’t yet discern what they were saying. He stopped for a moment, readying himself for trouble, before moving forward to see what was happening.
Imagine being courted by Thranduil and showing toddler Legolas snow for the first time.
——— Request for anon ———
“Oh, wow!” you gasp excitedly in time with the shocked face of the tiny elfling as he steps foot out into the snow. “What is it, Legolas? Is it snow?” He bends down, picking up the white powder into his hands before he turns to his father, a big, happy grin on his tiny face.
“Ada! Ada!” Legolas cries, showing the show in his hand as Thranduil walks closer, scooping up his son in one quick, fluid movement that results in an eruption of tiny giggles.
“What’s this? Have you discovered snow?” he pushes some freshly fallen flakes from the toddler’s shoulder, “Becoming an explorer young, I see.”
Okay. I’m going to try to get back into this. *Crack knuckles* *Cracks back* *Cracks neck* *Cracks ear bones and shit*
Let’s do it.
INFP stretches and takes off her headphones with a satisfied smile, gets up from her computer and quietly enters the hallway from his workspace. Walking toward the centre of the house, she passes ISFJ who is walking in the opposite direction carrying a basket of laundry to another room.
INFP: Hey, ISFJ.
INFP: Wait, what??
ISFJ:*Stops in tracks*
ISFJ: What… er, what is it?
INFP: I didn’t…
INFP: How long have you been here?
ISFJ: Are you…
ISFJ: INFP, I spent the night.
ISFJ: We spent the night together.
ISFJ: You… it was your idea.
INFP: *Gazes off in the distance, trying to remember*
INFP: Are you sure?
ISFJ: ?? ???? ?? W hat?
ISFJ: Yes! I’m very sure!
INFP: I don’t know, I feel like that was a few days ago.
INFP: Oh, hey, laundry!
ISFJ: Oh, goodness.
INFP: Whose is that?
ISFJ: Mine. I did yours a little earlier.
INFP: Oh awesome!
INFP: *Gives ISFJ an excited kiss*
INFP: You’re the best, thank you!
ISFJ: Heh, wow, yeah, of course!
ISFJ: It’s no problem, really!
ISFJ: I’m– glad you appreciate all of that, and I’m not just doing it for, nothing, I guess.
INFP: No, yeah, totally. I have such a hard time doing things like that because I get so easily preoccupied with other things. I don’t know how you do it.
ISFJ: Haha, yes, I know, INFP. But I like helping you!
INFP: Hey, you know what, since you’re here today,
ISFJ: (I swear to you I always was. OTL)
INFP: Do you want to go somewhere and do something today?
ISFJ: Um. Well, I hadn’t really planned on it but, okay.
ISFJ: Where do you want to go? c:
INFP: I don’t know yet!
INFP: We’ll figure it out, though. If you think of anything let me know!
ISFJ: Oh, goodness. Okay, yes, I’ll help you figure something out, haha.
INFP:*Spontaneously remembers what he drew for ISFJ on his computer*
INFP: I’m going to find something to eat, but hey, I did something cool to my computer! It’s on right now, you should check it out.
ISFJ: For sure. :)
ISFJ continues down the hall, leaving INFP and sets the basket down in the bedroom. Afterwards, ISFJ shifts to the next room over to look at INFP’s computer. On the screen is a cartoon-esque, autumn landscape with a small piece of writing at the bottom that read “You’re always bright just like the sun, and yet, somehow, even that holds no candle to you.”
Fun fact: I head-cannon INFPs as dorky (possible even cheesy), hopeless romantics.
