NWA World Heavyweight Championship:
Cody Rhodes (Champion) Vs. Willie Mack
Ring Of Honor TV Tapings
[September 29th, 2018]

After winning the NWA World Heavyweight Championship from Nick Aldis at All In, new champion Cody Rhodes would announce that the first challenger for his title would be international favorite Willie Mack. Having recently made a name for himself in Japan and well-known among fans of Lucha Underground, PWG, and multiple indie promotions, Mack was a popular choice for the challenge which took place at ROH’s TV tapings. Rhodes declared prior to the match that he would be the foil in Mack’s story, but having beaten the odds on multiple occasions, Mack would refuse to let Cody stomp on his parade, vowing to prove to everyone he knew growing up that his promise to become a champion wasn’t a pipe dream.

Yuzuru Hanyu at an interview after his FS:

“After the short programme, I was extremely disappointed. To the extent that I was almost unable to get back up to my feet. Despite that, the trust entrusted to me by my team and skating fans was everything that made my performance today.”

After the short programme, I too was really sad. Not because of the placing but more out of concern for Yuzuru.

Like how he would cry in his hotel room. Like how he would blame himself over and over again last year during WC – I simply couldn’t bear to visualise how painful he must have looked when all of us are not watching.

His face when his FS scores came out – the joy of the present and bitterness from the past – is simply heart-wrenching.

I’m not gonna lie, it freaking hurt to see Usain claim the bronze behind Gatlin especially but he is and will always be a LEGEND.

Usain has done SO MUCH for our little island. Had us hearing our anthem on the world stage so many times, had us proud, had us coming together in the streets in joy and excitement. We will always remember what he’s accomplished and what he’s given us. The Legend. The G.O.A.T. We’ll miss you.
