World Golf Championships - Bridgestone Invitational
31 year old Australian Adam Scott (pictured above) has claimed his first title at the World Golf Championships.
Scott closed a flawless five-underpar 65 finishing ahead of American Rickie Fowler, current world No. 1 Luke Donald and fellow Australian Jason Day.
“I ended up playing a really solid round of golf for this golf course…This is obviously one of the biggest wins of my career, to win a World Golf Championship is what i set out to do this year along with the majors, a real focus on the big events.”
Scott recently teamed up with New Zealand caddie Steve Williams who was fired by Tiger Woods last month.
“Steve’s seen a guy (Woods) play incredible golf, the best golf anyone has ever played around here so many times, so absolutely it helped”
“He really guided me around the course nicely when he needed to step in and just make a point of where he needs to be”
Scott will next compete in the year’s final major, the PGA Championship next week.
