Barba Questions

Have we all played ourselves with our speculation about Barba’s secret?

Has the fact the episode has been pushed back twice heightened our level of anticipation?

Will we be inevitably disappointed when it turns out to be unimportant? This was the “first” episode after Know It All, and nothing would suggest it. I don’t think they edited out that much stuf..

WAIT.

What if the chocolates were a gift from someone, to make Barba feel better after the events of Know It All? And that’s why the scene was cut?

D:

So apparently it’s been an entire year since I opened up a new doc to see if I could work my random “Alec Likes Feeling Pretty” headcanon into a cohesive fic.

Needless to say, I had no idea that ALDNT would become what it is today, that it would be so extensive, or that it would be received so wonderfully by the fandom. Believe me when I say that I didn’t think anyone would even read it, much less that I would get the type of responses and reactions that my wonderful readers have been sending me since day one.

The year I’ve spent writing this fic so far has been absolutely amazing, and I cannot possibly thank my readers enough for your incredible support. I definitely can’t guarantee that I’ll still be writing this fic for another full year, but I truly do love the ALDNT ‘verse, and I hope my readers will continue to enjoy it for as long as it lasts.

So, as always, thank you for your support, both for this fic, and for Alec Lightwood having nice things. 💜💜💜

I'm reading that MM's IG pics are indicating that the "relationship" is over. If you were Sam's gf and you were unemployed would you be in LA while he's in SA? Just askin'.

Sam and Cait are back to looking as much like a couple as they ever have, and it does seem that MM is moving on too- whether this is a real thing or just a friend being used as cover for another more private relationship with someone else is unknown- but I don’t really believe there was ever a “relationship” to be over between Sam and MM. Well, perhaps a showmance, but not a relationship in the traditional sense of the word. But either way, she is clearly using her social media posts to give a very strong suggestion of considerable time being spent with a man who is not Sam, thereby “ending” the “relationship” between them-whatever it was.

Whether or not this signals the end of future “fuckery” episodes of the type we recently witnessed is unknown. But it certainly will go a very long way towards making any such episodes in the future even more unbelievable than they ever were.

We heard that you were doing a little diva stuff and just didn’t want to talk to us. Is that true?

Morgan:  I can’t believe the way words leak around here. Is that the director that told you that? Because if it was then it’s true. No, I was going to have lunch with you, but my dog came out and crapped in front of everybody so I had to go clean it up.

What is the story on this dog? You saved a dog while you were here?

Morgan:  I did. The first week of filming. He was hanging around basecamp and was just a pup. He was maybe four months old and somebody hit it. They were like, “We have to put this dog down” and, instead, I paid the vet bill. There are so many strays. They’re everywhere.

What’s his name?

Morgan:  His name is Bandit. Or Bandito while we’re here.

So this is a permanent addition to your life?

Morgan:  I think it is. Well, yeah. After paying the $4,000 vet bill, he better learn to be my good dog now. Because he’s not very good at this point.

Collider interview with Jeffrey on the set of “The Losers”

No Explanation

Pairing: Joe Sugg x Reader
Warnings: None
Summary: Reader left Joe with no explanation, Joe explains her absence in various ways
Word count: 559 A/N: Idk, I listened to 50 ways to say goodbye by Train and this idea came to mind.

You left. Joe could not believe it. One day you were here and the next day you were gone. You two were so in love, it was the kind of love that made everyone want to be in love. It started a year ago. One year ago… You saw him in a restaurant with some friends, you had been eyeing him the whole night. Joe saw your stares, he stared back taking in your beauty. He was stunned that he had caught your eye, he was with friends that people considered more attractive than him. For some reason though, you of all people were staring… at him. His disbelief continued when you came up to his table, apologizing for interrupting and then asking for his number. He quickly gave it to you and was blushing the rest of the evening. Joe pulled himself out of his trance, remembering why he was so upset. He looked around for some kind of note, he checked his phone for any type of message. He couldn’t find one, he tried calling you, texting you even snapchatting and DM-ing you. He got no response, he filled your voice mail, begging you to come back, that he would do anything to get you back. He waited days for you to respond, but he still got nothing back from you. Whenever friends came over and asked where you were he gave short, unrealistic replies, “She fell, but no one caught her”, “She fell in a cement mixer full of quicksand”. His friends became worried none of them had heard from you in weeks. Josh contacted you, hoping that you would be okay. When you responded within a couple of days, he called you immediately. “Y/N! Where are you? Are you okay? Are you safe? Joe really misses you. I miss you. We all miss you. You need to come back. We’re all messes without you.” . His excitement got the best of him, and caused him to ramble on. You chuckled in response. “Josh, I am fine, I don’t know if I’m coming back…” She went quiet, silent almost. “Wait, what? You don’t think you’re coming back? Why did you leave in the first place?” “It didn’t feel right… being with Joe was amazing and I love and care about him still. It didn’t feel right, we were drifting apart, all the things we loved about each other seemed to disappear. I can’t even begin to explain the agony I’ve put myself through, I can’t imagine what he’s going through. I really am sorry. Please promise me you’ll tell him” Josh could tell she was hurt, he could hear the tears streaming down her cheeks. “I really think that you-” Josh was cut off “Josh… please… I am begging you.” With a sigh he agreed, they talked for a bit longer and then hung up. Josh went to Joe’s apartment, he explained everything. They cried, Josh was Joe’s shoulder to cry on. Joe could not believe the pain he had caused you. Joe still texted you, telling you that he wasn’t going to change the locks any time soon, that you were welcome home, whenever you wanted to come back. Two months later, locks weren’t changed, Joe was home, but you still weren’t. Joe would wait until you were ready, he would wait years for you. A/N: So I hope you guys liked this! I’m actually kind of happy with this one. Let me know what you guys think!
Going to hell with Dark and Anti :^)

I first I thought I can’t combine two of my favorite things kpop and youtubers together until I remembered few things and now nobody can stop me.

Okay so!! This time I’m going to drag Anti and Dark with me in this one (sorry not sorry) and the first thing I wanna talk about is how these two songs Voodoo Doll and Hyde from VIXX fit to Dark and Anti.

Let’s talk about Hyde first.

This song fits to so well Anti because honestly if you look at the lyrics you would be like: “Yup that’s Anti.” so this doesn’t need much explanations. Basically Anti and Jack are fighting from the power and control while begging the fan(s) to stay because they both need them (just like Leo sings the first lines of the song: There’s no way I said those words. There’s no way I said I would leave you). Jack trying to assure you that it’s not him hurting you (the fan) and that inside him is constant battle between him and Anti

Next one Voodoo doll is pretty tough to explain how it fits Dark because it needs more thinking than Hyde.

So in this song Dark would be ready to do ANYTHING for you just to keep him by your side. He would hurt anyone who hurt you (the fan… again) and would even sacrifice himself. That’s what he wants you to believe that he would protect you from any harm (which he probably would but not without a cost). The song even says that “I will become a doll for you.” meaning that Dark would be under your command and you would control him but it goes another way round. He will soon control you the more you trust him. Also part in the song where Hongbin sings: “I’ll make him cry as much as he made you cry.” would be Dark saying about Mark. That he would hurt Mark so much that it would make him cry because he made us cry (he wouldn’t even look at the context and wonder WHY he made us cry which is emotional games, motivation speeches etc.) So he would stay on our side and lead us to falsely believe that he is better option than Mark.

This was just little brainstorming after I listened Voodoo Doll and Hyde after long time. Also if you’re going to watch Voodoo Doll’s music video let me warn you about skin cutting and blood (because the girl is making the boys as his dolls) so it is bit gross. Even if it is fake skin it’s stil so… Ew… Especially the fake skin makes me gag…. Just heads up if you go watch it. I’m hungry and sleeping and tomorrow I have matriculation examination so I just wanted to post my last post before I walk to my doom and wreck my chances to graduate from high school pulling also down my chances to get to college (or as my English teacher told me to address it as “university of applied science”. I don’t remember the reason why :/ ) But now if you excuse me I will go cry in a corner. Goodbye…

You donโ€™t get better on the days when you feel like going. You get better on the days when you donโ€™t want to go, but you go anyway. If you can overcome the negative energy coming from your tired body or unmotivated mind, you will grow and become better. It wonโ€™t be the best workout you have, you wonโ€™t accomplish as much as what you usually do when you actually feel good, but that doesnโ€™t matter. Growth is a long term game, and the crappy days are more important.

“I have so many things to tell you–”

((the airport reunion is still making me tear up, so I went and re-drew some screenshots to deal with the feelings))

What is a friend? We probably all have our own definitions. For me, itโ€™s someone I donโ€™t feel alone with. Who doesnโ€™t bore me. Whose life I connect with and who takes reciprocal interest in my life. Itโ€™s someone I feel comfortable turning to when I need to be talked off the ledge, and for whom I am glad to return the favor. Just a few people in my life fit that bill.
Introverts donโ€™t get lonely if they donโ€™t socialize with a lot of people, but we do get lonely if we donโ€™t have intimate interactions on a regular basis.

a note on burr’s intellect and how it’s portrayed musically

i’m only going to be talking about burr’s short verse in my shot bc otherwise this would be ten miles long, but let me just say: lin-manuel miranda is a fucking genius. (warning, this is going to be a long post.)

as far as i recall, this is the only time burr raps in the narrative. and it’s 4 measures to tell hamilton and crew to shut up, in a language they’ll understand (rap), after being asked in the previous song to rap a bit.

just for a second, let me talk about internal rhyme.

internal rhyme is a component of rap that’s exactly what it sounds like: the rhymes within a verse that don’t fall in line with the ends of the phrases. they can still rhyme with the ends of the phrases too, but they aren’t on the ends of the phrases. (most of the time, you’ll notice internal rhymes because there’ll be emphasis on the rhymed syllables.)

now, hamilton’s verses are laden with internal rhyme: i could cite a billion examples, but i’ll only pull one for now.

“older”, “colder”, and “shoulder” are grouped together in the same rhyme scheme, with “shoulder” being the main source of internal rhyme.

similarly, “(disad)vantage”, “manage”, “brandish”, and “famished” are all in the same rhyme scheme, with “manage” being the main source of internal rhyme (although it can be argued that “brandish” is too because of the way it plows through the end of the phrase there with the straight sixteenth notes.) (also, shoutout to those polysyllabic rhymes for showcasing hamilton’s intelligence.)

now we’ll take a look at hamilton’s crew’s verses. start with lafayette:

there’s not really internal rhyme in here. because of his accent, lafayette can pull rhyming “france” and “’on(archy)”, but that’s about it. not surprising; he’s not unintelligent, it’s just that he’s still figuring out english.

then mulligan:

mulligan’s got a bit of internal rhyme going on with “chance”, “(ad)vance”, and “pants”. the “so(cially)” and “sew(in’)” could be argued too, but the fact that the emphasis is placed on the “ly” of socially and not on the “so” makes it hard to argue.

then of course, laurens:

laurens, getting up there with hamilton and bringing in some polysyllabic rhymes! we’ve got “truly free” and “you and me”; “you and i” and “do or die”; “sally in”, “stallion”, and “battalion”. that’s three different rhyme schemes, so good for you– but then, we’d expect a good command of the english from someone who helped hamilton write essays.

now, finally, we get to burr:

“gen(iuses)” and “keep”. “trouble” and “double”. “with” and “sit(uation)”. that’s already three internal rhymes, completely separate from the end rhyme. (he fits a polysyllabic rhyme in there too with “trouble” and “double”.)

and then the internal rhyme that goes with the end rhyme?

“fraught”, “got”, “taught”, “talk”, and “shot”.

that’s five instances of rhyming in two measures. let me repeat that: five instances of rhyming in two measures. the example i cited has hamilton doing four instances of rhyme in three measures.

burr’s intelligence and command of the english language is at least on par with hamilton’s, if not greater, as evidenced later by their partnership as lawyers; but lin-manuel miranda manages to portray that just in four measures.

that’s how to develop a character musically.

I believe that suffering is part of the narrative, and that nothing really good gets built when everything’s easy. I believe that loss and emptiness and confusion often give way to new fullness and wisdom.
