woollen beanie

• Fox Tower is a college dorm so there is literally no way that the fire alarm doesn’t go off in the middle of the night at least once (I mean, Andrew at the very least smokes inside, and that’s without the many and varied other belief-defying ways that college students get in trouble with fire)
• if you’ve ever had a fire alarm go off, then you know that inevitably this also only happens when it is FREEZING
• like, South Carolina doesn’t probably get that cold, but an evacuation only ever occurs when it’s the dead of winter I’m pretty sure
• so imagine the Foxes dragging themselves out of bed and down to the parking lot in the very early hours of a winter morning
• Renee is probably the most appropriately dressed and the most awake, because she is the Most Sensible, in her sweatpants and coat and woollen beanie
• she’s gently chivvying on Allison, who is bare-legged in boots and a heavy coat with the hood pulled so tight that pretty much only her nose is visible
• Dan and Matt are also dressed because they are adults.  Matt tucks Dan inside his coat and buttons it around her, even though her head is nowhere near the neck hole.  She insists into Matt’s chest that she’d rather suffocate than lose her face to frostbite
• the four of them huddle up like penguins, except with more muffled complaining
• Aaron is probably with Katelyn and misses this entire ordeal, but if he hadn’t the fires of his rage would have kept him warm anyway
• Nicky is only wearing a light jumper.  He makes Kevin hug him in exchange for letting Kevin continue to sleep on him. Kevin is not actually awake enough to discern if this is a good deal.  He submits anyway
• how did they get Kevin up?  Andrew probably suggested leaving him to burn, but Neil wouldn’t let him.  Maybe they dragged him off the bed and onto the floor a la Wymack except with less care about causing bodily harm
• Neil’s probably kind of panicky because Andrew hadn’t let him bring anything from their room in case there actually was a fire.  He is at least fully dressed – every time he reached out to grab something to bring with him, Andrew probably stuffed an item of clothing into his hand instead.  He’s wearing sweatpants, sneakers, two shirts, his windbreaker and a heavy blanket from his bed
• Andrew probably looks unruffled in just a hoodie and sweats, because he never seems to get that cold? (again, fires of rage, probably)
• however, when he notices Neil shivering (light panic with a dash of cold) he silently insists that Neil stand shoulder to shoulder with him and share the blanket
• just, Wymack turning up to check in on them after Renee texts him (because god knows he is canonically careful with his bunch of cracked and crazy athletes) to find the sorriest bunch of tiny people in giant coats huddling together
• their little faces!!!  So sleepy, so full of anger
• also Wymack probably thinks that Andrew was the one to set the alarm off.  It was actually Ricky from the soccer team, who has a fondness for scented candles after a long day of training
