Shance Step-Up au

AHAHAHA I havne’t watched the movies in years I can’t remember for shit what they’re about but I woke up with flo-rida’s “low” stuck in my head and an image of Lance and Shiro dancing to it SO

  • Shiro is studying dance at this fancy ass arts academy, right? And he’s a golden child, has won many teen awards, his teachers all love him, his peers envy him. But on his second year, he gets into a slump.
  • Completely out of nowhere, he hits a wall. He can’t make any progress. It looks to him like he’s even regressing. Nothing inspires him to dance like he ued to.It’s starting to affect school, so he goes to his most prised mentor/teacher (Allura) and asks for advice.
  • She tells him to go to *fakename* club on *fakername* street on a certain night of the week in a certain time, and tell them Allura sent him.
  • It’s shady af but he trusts her plus he’s getting desperate, so he goes.
  • They take him to the back, then outside, and into a warehouse. All this time he’s sure he’s getting murdered and probably eaten. There’s even loud music coming from there, surely to mask his screams.
  • Nope lol, it’s music people dance to. More specifically, have dance battles to. There’s gambling so it’s illegal technically and that’s why it’s secretly in the back??? idk.
  • The poiNT IS. He grabs a drink, sits back, tries to figure out why Allura sent him there. I mean, it’s a cool place, but so far he hasn’t seen anything he hasn’t seen before. That’s before the real battles begin, tho. Up until then it was just warmups. Beginners.
  • The first battle blows his mind. It’s not that they have marvelous techniques, although they do, it’s more about how alive their bodies are. How alive the dance is. Nothing like the rehearsed, controlled dance he’s used to. Shiro’s hypnotized.
  • At some point, “Rolo” and “Lance” are called forth. People snort and chuckle when they hear the last name, and Shiro even heard some girls behind him say something about how he should have kept his distance after what happened last time.
  • Shiro is even more intrigues now.
  • Lance turns out to be a god. Or an angel, at least. How else would you explain someone being this pretty? His tan skin practically glows, his eyes are the color of what diving into a pool on a hot day feel like. And he’s wearing loose sweatpants and a crop top for christ’s sake. Shiro hasn’t felt this gay in a long while.
  • And lord, can this boy dance. He’s a little sloppy, his movements a little too erratic, but dear heavens does he make Shiro’s heart race. Still, he tries to do some complicated flip flop near the end of his dance, loses balance and trips. He doesn’t exactly fall, and recovers pretty quickly, but from the loud Boo’s all around, Shiro assumes either it was an embarrassing mistake in this place, or these people were just waiting for him to fail.
  • Lance loses the battle but wins Shiro’s heart (I’m made of cheese lemme live)
  • Shiro goes to talk to him, and Lance is, predictably and understandably, in a shitty mood, but having a tall incredibly handsome dude express so much interest in him is def helping.
  • Shiro invites him to the academy, because surely if anyone could get in on a scholarship it’s this boy.
  • But Lance is having none of this. Rich people’s academy? That shit’s ain’t for him. He does dance battles for the money. Where’s he supposed to get money if he spends all his day repeating the same dance movies in some classroom?
  • Shiro is desperate enough to offer him money if he teaches him how to move like that.
  • Lance jumps on the offer and the private tutoring starts. All the while Shiro keeps low-key trying to convince him to at least think about applying. Also there’s LOTS of flirting, and SO MUCH sexual tension. Especially whenever Lance takes Shiro out clubbing, so he can “feel the music in his soul”. All Shiro feels is Lance’s ass grinding into him, but Lance says he’s improving so who is he to disagree, really?
  • He’s doing better at school and when Allura asks, he tells her about his lessons with Lance.
  • Allura is surprised, but overall pleased. She says they’re a great match and Shiro blushes right down to his buttcheeks.
  • Shiro breaks through his dance-block and doesn’t really need the lesson anymore, but he keeps taking them bc he wants to see Lance and although they’re close now, he still isn’t sure they’ll still be close without the excuse to meet.
  • Their first kiss is in one of the clubs Lance takes him to. They’ve both had a bit of alcohol before stepping on the dance floor, and they’re really feeling it, dancing so close and tight some people think they’re trying to fuse into one. Lance’s hands are all over him, in his hair, on his abs, was that grope on purpose??
  • Shiro’s hands also drift to his waist, then his ass, and once that happens they both know there’s no going back. Lance initiates the kiss, but Shiro’s the one who takes it to the next level with prying his lips open and kissing him like his life depend on it.
  • So they become super gross lovey dovey boyfriends and it’s all syrup sweet and so cute you’d have to punch a wall after seeing them smile to each other.
  • One day Lance gets a call from Shiro’s fancy academy inviting him to an audition and he’s like ??????
  • A couple of months back Shiro took a video of him dancing “for reference”, and then gave it to the adminitration, hoping it’d impress someone enough to give Lance a shot.
  • Lance is a little mad that he did that without talking to him, but by then he was actually starting to become convinced to give it a shot.
  • He’s accepted on a scholarship ofc and after about a year, he and Shiro get an apartment together and live happily ever after :D
  • They also adopt 2 cats and a dog.
  • And a parrot.

Quite aside from his boyish good looks, Eddie is by far one of the best actors I have ever seen. Why? Because every role he has played has been so different from the others & yet he is absolutely, 100% believable in every single one of them. You don’t watch him act & see Eddie - you see Newt, Marius, Stephen, Qwerty, & so on. His talent & skill are formidable! This is why he has won so many awards.. & no doubt there will be more in his future!

(Disclaimer: This is the first time I ever attempted a collage in photoshop, so please excuse the imperfections. Photoshop hates me! Also, I know not all of his many roles are represented, but I tried to choose my favourite from each year. And I couldn’t choose between Birdsong & Les Mis! I also just realised that I left out My Week With Marilyn… gah!!!)

I find it incredibly sad how some fans can get so greedy with awards to the point where they'd want to take away an award from a group who has worked so hard to get their first daesang 😧

okay, but, flight log trilogy is literally almost over and i am just so???? overwhelmed??? like this era (fly/hard carry/never ever) provided the boys so many great stuff… they not only got to start producing their own albums but they also won so many awards (from music shows to big ceremonies like ema and mama), made not only their first concert in korea but also two tours overseas, got recognized internationally and finally tasted the kind of success they always deserved. i can’t put in words how satisfied and emotional i am about the past year, and although this is the end of an era, it’s only the start for got7 and i truly can’t wait to see the great things the future holds for them.

The Honeymoon Suite - Salambo06

By Organization for Transformative Works

“You’ll see,” the receptionist smiles, handing John the key to their room, “This honeymoon suite is quite spectacular. Our hotel has won many awards, most of them for these rooms.”

John forces himself to smile back at her as gently as possible, “We can’t wait to see it!” He glances back behind him where Sherlock is currently waiting for their suitcases before looking back at her, “What time do we have to return the key tomorrow?”

“Oh, don’t worry about that,” the woman replies, shaking her head slowly, “Whenever you’re ready to leave. Some of our guests chose to extend their stay for another day or two sometimes, and it’s really no trouble.”

John nods, licking his lips and playing with the key in his hand. We’ll probably be leaving first thing in the morning, he wants to tell her. As soon as Sherlock proves who robbed the previous couple who booked a room here, we’re out of here and stopping this happily married charade. “Thank you,” he says instead.

I was scrolling down my following list and I saw a lot of users in the YOi fandom that I looked up to, who haven’t posted for weeks and months. That made me think back to the gold days where the yoi fandom broke Tumblr, was #1 on Tumblr Trending Now section, got yoi mentioned in south park, won many crunchyroll anime awards, attracted the attention of professional figure skaters, thousands of fan fictions and fan arts, and basically took our hearts along with it.

Guzma Headcanon: part 1

Guzma’s back story.

Guzma was born and raised on Route 2 of Mele Mele island in the Alola region and is the only child of his parents (who are still married). Since childhood, Guzma has always wanted to be a great Pokémon trainer, embarking on his own island adventure when he turned 10 with his trusted Spinarak whom he met while playing in the berry fields near is home. Guzma was a great trainer, in fact, he was a prodigy at not only Pokémon battles, but he was great at golf as well. As a trainer, young Guzma won many awards for not only winning battles and completing his island challenge, but also for the love and compassion he had for his bug Pokémon team. He hoped that he could one day become a trial captain. Hala saw great potential in the young trainer.
Beneath Guzma’s outward success, there was trouble at home. Guzma’s father wanted his son to be successful and pushed him to his limits to be the best. Second place was never an option, only first was acceptable. Guzma’s father had a sharp temper and could be violent if Guzma did not succeed. Guzma does not remember the first time his father hit him, he blocked it from his memory but recalls he must’ve been about 7 or 8 years old but his father would later justify the physical abuse as “I’m making you into a man” and “I only want the best for you”. Guzma was never certain when his father would strike: his violence was always sporadic and without reason.
Despite the troubles at home, Guzma kept on battling and training his Pokémon. As Guzma grew, his fathers rage and anger with him seem to grow and grow. Guzma began to get failing grades in school, which doubled the violence at home. He’d come to school bruised and banged up, which no one thought twice about because of his prodigy trainer status. After a nasty argument with his father one day, Guzma ran out of the house to let of some steam. As he was out, he saw a gang of rattatas picking on what looked to be a little bug Pokémon. Without hesitation, Guzma sent out spinarak to go deal with the rattatas and save the little Pokémon. Once the rattatas were scared off, Guzma recognized that the Pokémon was a wimpod, something he read about in a book and always wanted to see. The little wimpod was too weak to fend for its own and was badly damaged. Without hesitation, Guzma took the little guy to the nearest Pokémon center so he could be treated. Guzma decided that it was best for the wimpod to stay with him until he was strong enough to return to the wild. Weeks turned into months and as time went on, the bond between Guzma and wimpod grew strong. Guzma even nicknamed the wimpod, wimpy. Wimpy was here to stay.
Just as Wimpy needed Guzma for protection, Guzma also needed wimpy. The abuse at home grew out of Guzma’s hands. His father would almost nightly beat Guzma and subject him to emotional abuse. His father would always tell Guzma that “he wasn’t good enough” and would strike him with his many golf clubs if Guzma spoke back. This, as you can imagine, caused Guzma a great deal of anxiety and stress for Guzma. Guzma would have emotional outbursts and rage that mimicked his father’s. He was depressed, anxious, and always “on guard” to protect himself from the abuse. At this time, he was only 12 and was hitting puberty: he grew at an alarmingly faster rate than his classmates and towered over them and was mocked by his classmates (out of jealousy) for being tall and liking bug Pokémon. Wimpy was Guzma’s source of comfort. Whenever Guzma would have a meltdown or a crying spell, wimpy was there. They were there for each other.
Around this time, Guzma auditioned to be a trial captain. The day of, Guzma’s anxiety was at its’ highest point, and he failed the first round of auditions (the interview portion). This set Guzma’s father off and hit Guzma so hard with a golf club that left a permanent scar on his face. Guzma was depressed, self loathing and contemplated suicide. He was hopeless. The only thing keeping him alive were his Pokémon: he needed them, they needed him….

PART 2 OF MY RANT: EXO versus BTS thingys

My favorite fandom versus my favorite fandom is like I am feeling betrayed! For example: EXO became so popular like they won many awards and like something elsewhere and BTS is like getting higher like stormy day. BTS had interviewed internationally even USA and also planning to do collabs and mentioning by international artists like Ed Sherran, The Chainsmokers, etc. I’m proud of those boys. To be honest I love EXO and BTS but this is getting offhanded! I hate seeing ARMYs fighting against EXO-Ls or EXO-Ls fighting against ARMYs. If I kept supporting EXO, BTS might betray me. If I kept supporting BTS, EXO might betray me. I don’t want to see getting hate or fighting against ARMYs or EXO-Ls. You can hate me, but don’t ever hate those boys. You can all me dumb or crazy but DON’T EVER DO THAT TO OUR BOYS. PLEASE SUPPORT BOTH BTS AND EXO. THANK YOU.

FOR NOW, BACK TO MY BREAK; I WILL SEE YOU ON SUNDAY OR MONDAY!

anonymous asked:

ok u must get this a lot but what are your favorite books with queer protags???

oooooh

- Grasshopper Jungle by Andrew Smith – teenage boy explores his bisexuality as he wrestles with his guilt over a) having feelings for both his best friend and his girlfriend and b) accidentally starting the apocalypse-by-giant-preying-mantis. (literally my favourite book.)

- The Vintner’s Luck by Elizabeth Knox – grumpy vintner bumps into an angel one night when he’s pickled and wandering around the vineyard, and winds up making a date to meet once a year, on the same night, forever. you will probably cry yourself to sleep afterwards.

- As Meat Loves Salt by Maria McCann – sociopathic romp through Civil War era England accompanied by THE WORLD’S SLOWEST BURN and MURDER. even if you’ve been an English Civil War nerd for 15 years before reading this book, this book will forever be the first thing you think of when you think of the English Civil War. a scourge.

- Tipping the Velvet by Sarah Waters – cute girl leaves home and becomes a music hall male impersonator. lesbian shenanigans by the barrowful follow. set in Victorian London and actually has a happy ending! yay!

- Running With Scissors by Augusten Burroughs – a memoir documenting Augusten Burroughs’ teenage years living with his mother’s psychiatrist and his madcap family. I took this in stride when I first read this book at the tender age of 14, but now it gives me PALPITATIONS and a BURNING URGE to ring Esther Rantzen.

- Call Me By Your Name by Andrew Aciman – THE PEACH BOOK!

- The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller – I love this book so much I have to forcibly stop myself from buying a copy every time I see one in a secondhand bookshop. you go into it thinking you’ll be FINE because everyone KNOWS what happens to Patroclus, it’s not like you WON’T SEE IT COMING… and yet. no one is ever fine.

- Maurice by E. M. Forster – astounding and wonderful book that was, surprisingly, written in 1912. there’s sex, it’s a happy ending, it has something very snotty to say about British attitudes towards homosexuality – it’s a joy. plus, the Merchant Ivory film version is full of totty. (yes, that’s Rupert Graves. you see him starkers. just saying.)

- Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz – two Latinx boys falling in love. I read the entire thing in one sitting. it’s won so many awards you can barely see the cover art. deserves all the accolades and love, as it is HEARTBREAKINGLY GORGEOUS.

- More Than This by Patrick Ness – there is absolutely no way to explain this book without spoiling everything about it, so here’s the bare bones: Seth drowns, and then wakes up, alive, but completely and utterly alone. I had to put it down and go for stress walks at least 3 times. so good.

- The Charioteer by Mary Renault – a soldier wounded in the evacuation of Dunkirk recuperates in hospital and tries to choose between two dudes: a young and innocent conscientious objector and a saucy and experienced naval officer. can I get a HAIL MARY?
