YURI ON ICE X KUROKO NO BASKET AU????

Or, YOI is technically a sports anime but doesn’t follow a lot of tropes, so what if I did an AU where it does? And I just happen to love KnB, so basketball it is. High school sports + the Power of the Team and Friendship ™ + student life + training camps + graduating senpais etc…

why rick and evie are perfect

evie? evy? find some continuity, mummy franchise

in the mummy:

  • literally they begin with evie saving his life, like this ship began with girl saves boy and rick admits that’s the entire reason he goes on the adventure at all
  • lots of longing gazes
  • bANTER BANTER BANTER BANTER THE ONLY THING THAT SCARES ME MR O’CONNELL ARE YOUR MANNERS
  • the formal way they address each other, “mr o’connell” “evelyn”
  • TEAMWORK!!!!! ships that work together as a team are legit wonderful
  • basically every little thing evie does that wouldn’t be considered “becoming” for a woman at that time, rick is very into. racing a camel? rick is down. describe mummification with gross specifics? rick is very into it.
  • and then he steals nice tools for her which is basically the most romantic thing you could give evelyn carnahan as a present
  • “i… am a librarian” rick is aroused
  • when he helps her off the ground and very gently checks to make sure she isnt hurt and basically casually holds her like wtf kind of romantic bullshit is this
  • rick loses his shit any time evie might get hurt
  • like they have to hOLD HIM BACK when she goes with imhotep
  • “if they make me a mummy you’re the first one i’m coming after”
  • THEY ALWAYS HOLD HANDS WHEN RUNNING AWAY FROM DANGER
  • their kiss has a smiley NOSE RUB like kill me i hate them
  • they cuddle on a fucking camel

in the mummy returns:

  • A MARRIED SHIP THAT HAS BEEN TOGETHER FOR TEN YEARS, HAS A CHILD, AND IS STILL COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY FULL OF LOVE AND SUPPORT
  • like these assholes have been together for a decade and still make out constantly
  • WHEN THEY DEFEAT THE MUMMIES ON THE BUS LEGIT EVIE CROOKS HER DAMN FINGER AT HIM LIKE THEY ARE SO TURNED ON BY ALMOST DYING THAT IS BASICALLY THEIR KINK
  • they compromise and still work as a team so well!! they know when to do it evie’s way and when to do it rick’s way
  • like he hands her a gun and she nods and they basically practice how to fight at home right? they have to. they choreograph this shit.
  • they still banter and tease each other and it is full of so much fucking affection, gag me now
  • THEY JUST LIKE HOLD EACH OTHER A LOT ITS LOVELY
  • i dont support evie’s temporary death but also brendan fraser is literally the only man actually acting in that scene and it hurts my heart to even consider rick living without evie like that man thinks screaming AHHH at mummies will make a difference, how would he even function
  • just like a lot of hardcore risking their lives for each other
  • “do you want to know what heaven looks like?” “nope would rather make out on this blimp pls”

those are the only two mummy movies nothing else exists sorry

Co-Leadership Klance Theory

So I’ve seen a few people make mention to the fact that in season three, we could possibly get two leaders in Voltron and I honestly think that could be true, based on a few things that I’ve noticed…

In the beginning of the show we saw this

Keith and Lance both saving Shiro in some way has symbolism. Keith was struggling to hold Shiro up by himself (almost like the future weight of leading the group)

And then Lance came in at the perfect time to help him, taking some of the weight off of his shoulders

Here’s another form of symbolism

They’re all lined up and working together to defeat the enemy, this is definitely showing something. But it’s mainly the colours. Is it really a coincidence that Lance and Keith are red and blue while Shiro is purple? Shiro must represent something between them, maybe what they equal together

But other than Shiro, there have been moments dropped around the show that also prove that Lance and Keith make a good team and work well together

Like for example, their bonding moment

(oh look, more purple…interesting….)

Lance literally said “We did it, we are a good team” here

And on a small side note, during some moments with Keith, Lance has been shown to be a good leader, someone that Keith needs around to help him (like with Shiro in ep 1)

This scene here when Keith was ready to run into fight without even a second thought really proves that

Lance stops him and says to think things through (giving a better plan,) which is essential when leading a group

It’s almost like they balance each other out, Keith is impulsive while Lance is decisive, making their team level-headed which is similar to Shiro’s persona (red equals danger, while blue equals calm, making purple which is a combination of both?)

Then there was this elevator scene, which I believe was more than just fan service

They literally did the impossible by getting out of there together, blatantly showing, even though they don’t always get a long

they definitely do make a good team when it counts

Here too

This is one of the best moments I’ve seen them work together. There have been others too where they put aside their differences and help one another when it’s important

And recently I’ve heard that now that Shiro’s gone, Lance is going to become more serious and show more of a leadership role, just like Keith will have to as well

And this small scene we got from the trailer shows that. They all look very serious and the stance’s may be this way to make room for everyone in the shot, but there’s just something about Lance and Keith

They both look just like Shiro here and I don’t think that’s a coincidence at all.

what’s most beautiful to me about today’s video, was Dan and Phil’s perspectives on coincidences in the universe. it’s not even that it was nice to see them disagreeing and bantering on screen again, it’s not even that it was nice to get a bigger peek into their mind.

It’s the weird way they compliment each other.

Dan’s the guy who looks at the world and see’s beauty in the randomness, in the coincidences and how things come together. Dan’s the guy who believes in luck just about as far as you can throw it, who recognizes that it’s pure chance that something happens, but that at the same time, we’re all master’s of our own individual universes. Dan’s the guy who stops and smiles at the fact that, out of all the possibilities in the universe, he found his best friend on the internet and made an amazing, beautiful career out of it, because of his choices, and not because of luck, or fate, or any of that.

But Phil… Phil’s the guy who looks at the world and sees magic in everything that transpires. Phil’s the guy who see’s the moon and the sun and the spinning of the earth as far more than just coincidence. Phil’s the guy who walks in two worlds, living a literal magical surrealism, with his head in the clouds but his feet on the ground. Phil’s the guy who can recognize that things are just the way they are, that this is reality and that’s how it will always be, but who see’s the magical currents in the air tying people together, drawing them towards what they’re meant to be and have. Phil’s the guy who looks a coincidence and see’s magic, but even as fanciful as his ideas sometimes may seem, he’s always got one foot on the ground.

The idea that these two people can come together, and center each other? That’s magic in and of itself.

I imagine Phil holding Dan tight in his arms when he’s crying and scared because the world just keeps on spinning without him and if he stops moving he’d loose all his chances, and Phil promising him that it’ll all be okay. The world knows how to keep its balance, and there’s something, something there that will keep them both afloat. Maybe, just maybe, some things really do happen for a reason.

I imagine Dan patting Phil on the back after something tragic has happened and reassuring him that not everything happens for a reason. Sometimes, it’s just coincidence in the more purely unmagical way of all, and there’s not always something that can be done to stop it. It’s not Phil’s fault, it’s never his fault, its just the universe, uncaring, staring with cold eyes down at him and doing… what needs to be done.

I know that everyone has a concept of 'boyfriend' Lauren but if honestly seems like Camila is the more protective one even if they both really care about each other

Oh no Lauren is without a doubt the most protective one. But I also do believe that she has a very vulnerable side that she doesn’t let many people see and that in a way Camila is a safe place for her, she can completely be herself and kinda let go of the whole tough act when she’s with her, that’s why she goes all puppy when she looks at Camz.

I live for protective Lauren

Concept: Kara and Lena’s friendship growing, they learn each others secrets, they have keys to the others apartments, they start having dinner together regularly, Lena started subconsciously referring to Kara’s apartment as home, “I’ll be home for dinner around 7″, Kara starts keeping Lena’s favorite foods in their apartment, Kara starts subconsciously referring to her apartment as Lena’s home, “I wont be home until 8 Alex, but Lena will be home by 7:30″, Kara reminds Lena to eat and go to her doctor appointments, they cuddle at night and end up falling asleep on the couch until Kara carried them to bed….

And their best friends, they tell each other they love each other, the know the other’s hopes and fears and secret guilts, but they don’t realize that either of them have even looked at another person romantically in months, they dont think about other girls/boys/etc, they’ve fallen into a relationship without realizing it

so when the hugs and cuddles turn to cheek kisses and hand-holding and the cheek kisses and hand-holding turn into spooning and the brushing of lips and the spooning and brushing of lips turns into touching and kissing they don’t really notice and they don’t comment because it was all so natural. They fell in love with their best friend and nothing seemed as easy as that.

I cannot stop thinking about the last ~15 minutes of Big Little Lies, and how it was about communication between women and deliberately cutting men out.  For one thing, it is almost completely silent– sound only returns at the request of the female detective, who is also the one who picked up on the inconsistencies (or rather consistencies) of their stories.  For another thing, major reveals happen without any dialogue at all.  We see Bonnie piecing together the danger oozing from Perry, we see Jane’s horror at discovering her rapist, and then we see Celeste and Madeline put the whole thing together.  Even Renata–the woman most excluded from their group– picks up that something’s wrong.

All without a single word.

It’s silly, but it reminded me of being in sixth grade.  The boys in our class noticed that the girls had a tendency to look at each other when one of them said something dumb, and pretty soon any sort of sideways-look between girls got a loud round of Mr. S they’re talking with their eyebrows again! accusations.  The boys were annoyed (playfully annoyed, but annoyed nonetheless) that the girls had figured out a way to talk in class without actually talking.  We told them they could do it too, but they all stubbornly insisted that wasn’t possible.

Thinking back on that, it strikes me how much of female communication is nonverbal, largely because it has to be.  Women are socialized not to make a fuss, to be quiet, to not take up too much unnecessary space.  This pressure (along with the emphasis on the importance of women taking care of feelings and emotions) creates a quiet sub-language, a code that is not exactly hard to break unless you insist on seeing women as other.  It’s in the look women share when a man catcalls one of us on the street, when we shift to make space for a woman to sit down on the bus because there’s a guy standing just a little too close to her.  This isn’t some innate ability unique to ciswomen– and again, the code is not at all hard to crack unless you are convinced that women are inherently unknowable– but rather a form of communication female-identified people developed to protect each other.

I saw way too many reviewers say that they didn’t buy Bonnie knowing Perry was dangerous without having her book backstory to inform her (where she’s apparently a child of an abusive father), or arguing that Celeste and Madeline just knowing Perry was Jane’s rapist was a bridge too far, but to me, that was the most organic moment of the series.  Not because women have natural intuition about these things, but because nonverbal communication is a skill women have developed to protect themselves and each other from men like Perry and so having them communicate without ever speaking a word was incredibly powerful.  Without the audience ever once hearing them, these women instantly banded together to protect one of their own– and it was one of their own who noticed.  The male detective basically throws his hands up and writes them off as unknowable, but the female detective is the one who knows the code and thus she’s the one with questions.

Even the last scene was a silent, female-centric haven.  The bad guy is gone but the good guys aren’t there either, relegated to mere sidekicks in a story about female friendship and love.  The audience is left out of their circle too, unable to hear their conversations but able to see their compassion for one another.  They’re talking without words, but we still know what they’re saying.

I think one of my favorite things about wondertrev is that even after they sleep together (because let’s be real they totally did it) their relationship does not really change. There was no scene afterwards that showed them awkwardly looking at each other, not knowing what to say, or making a big deal out of it. Steve doesn’t suddenly become overprotective of her or treat her differently. They still encouraged each other, respected each other, and argued throughout the movie. Their relationship and love for each other continued to progress without putting an emphasis that they were a couple

Just one more shot!” Seemed to be the motto of your night as you insisted you and your friends needed to go partying on one last Friday night before you start for your masters degree.

You weren’t ever the party girl, never really big on drinking, but that all changed when you saw your schedule for the semester. You were going to be cooped up in your room for the next eight months, no doubt about it.

So why not have a little fun while you still can? It can’t hurt, right?

Six tequila shots in and you were quite possibly the happiest person in the club, no, on the Earth. Not a single care in your mind, everything was all about the moment and whatever you laid eyes on in that very moment.

That just so happened to be the exact moment your eyes met a gorgeous pair of cool grey ones. It might’ve been your intoxicated state, but you could’ve sworn that you knew those eyes, that you’ve seen them before.

Your thoughts were pushed aside when the man walked even closer to you, offering to buy you a drink, to which you declined because quite frankly, you didn’t want to yack in front of the gorgeous man in front of you.

His face fell when you denied his offer, but quickly made up for it when you grabbed his hand, pulling him to the crowded (makeshift) dance floor, immediately grinding yourself against him.

His hands were large and warm, splayed against your waist as they moved your body against his, small and breathy moans leaving his mouth every once in a while as his head fell in the crook of your neck.

A few songs later and the next thing you knew you were outside in the alley behind the bar against the wall making out with the handsome stranger you had yet to learn the name of.

Fuck,” you gasped when his teeth nipped at the sensitive skin of your neck, undoubtedly working on leaving some type of mark on you, “Sebastian,” you heard him mumble, confusing you.

“What?” You asked, still panting against his face, your arms still laced around his neck, “my name,” he said, “it’s Sebastian,” he repeated as you smirked, crashing your lips against his, “take me home, Sebastian” you whispered in a sultry tone before he grabbed your hand and flagging a cab down.

The cab ride to his place was filled with not-so-subtle touches as you both looked out of your respective windows, trying not to draw any attention to your states, which clearly didn’t work.

Sebastian nearly dragged you out of the cab, quickly paying the driver before bolting into his building to the stairs, “it’s only the second floor,” he assured as you nodded but all you could focus was how broad his shoulders were.

“I’m gonna fucking wreck you, doll,” he growled against your ear the second he had the door closed causing shivers to erupt on your skin as you followed him into the bedroom.

Your head was pounding and every muscle in your body seemed to scream stop when you tried to sit or stand up. When you finally managed to muster up the strength to sit up and open your eyes you realised you were not, in fact, in your own bed.

You gasped when you saw a man beside you, cursing when you couldn’t remember his name, even though it was right on the tip of your tongue. You checked your phone and found that it had thirty percent and you nearly cheered out loud.

Quickly pulling on your clothes you took one last look at the very handsome sleeping man before walking out of his apartment, and making the walk to yours.

Monday came sooner than you wanted it to, but your weekend was eventful and you couldn’t be happier at making the choice to go out on Friday. Your friends had pried every single detail from your night when you got home. You told them everything you could remember, but leaving out some of the more graphic details.

You still couldn’t remember his name, you tried looking through your contacts to see if he maybe added his number, but nothing. It was still on the tip of your tongue, in the back of your mind, but you just couldn’t get it out.

Either way, you knew you had to push the man out of your thoughts as you rushed to get ready for your first class. You hit snooze just one too many times and you were running behind. Figuring you’d have to skip on breakfast you grabbed a granola bar before rushing out of your apartment.

You lived practically right beside campus, thankfully, so when you stepped on campus and saw your building you were relieved, it was the first day of classes as well, it shouldn’t be a problem if you’re a little late, right?

It was weird being on campus and in your mid-twenties surrounded by young eighteen year olds scurrying to find their classes, you almost laughed remembering your own panic when you had to find your classes as a freshman.

Walking into the large building you quickly descended the stairs and into the basement before walking down to the end of the hall finally reaching the lecture hall and pulling the doors open, stumbling in.

The room was quite, so quite as you clumsily stumbled in. Every single pair of eyes was on you as you made your way to the only seemingly empty seat at the front of the hall, slumping down in your seat.

“As I was saying,” a male voice caught your attention, “my name is Dr. Stan, but you can call me Sebastian,” your heart dropped to your stomach as you slowly lifted your head to meet the same blue eyes, both your jaws tensing.

“Let’s begin,” Sebastian said, his eyes lingering on yours for a second longer before turning to grab the textbook.

“You slept with your professor!” Nat screeched, howling laughter continuing as you buried your head into the couch cushion as she continued laughing at your misery, “it’s not funny, we could both get in serious trouble,” you told her, sitting up as she raised a brow.

“And why should anyone find out?” She questioned as you sighed, “I don’t know…” you trailed off realising just how paranoid you were being, “you’re both adults and you slept with him before you even knew he was gonna be teaching you,” she said, reassuring you as you nodded your head, slumping back against the couch.

“I can’t even look at him without turning into a tomato,” you groaned as Nat let out another loud laugh, “you have leverage now,” she grinned mischievously as you rolled her eyes, “you’re ridiculous,” you laughed as she shrugged her shoulders, taking another sip of her drink.

Your first class with Dr. Stan, or Sebastian as he preferred, was awkward nonetheless. You couldn’t focus on what he was saying, barely making any notes as your mind screamed you’ve seen him naked! over and over again.

It’s true though, whatever he was doing, you could picture him doing it naked, as gross, disturbing, and wrong as that sounded you just couldn’t help yourself. You knew he must’ve been uncomfortable as well because he would cough or stumble on his words every time his eyes landed on yours.

Thankfully you didn’t have another one of his lectures until Thursday, hopefully you’d be able to push aside what happened and be professional. You’d just have to wait and see.

You stood at his desk looking everywhere and anywhere other than him his words ringing in your mind, “Miss. [Y/L/N], may I have a word with you?” His voice just kept replaying in your mind, psyching yourself out for what he was going to say.

You heard the door close as the last student was finally out, leaving just you and Sebastian, “so,” he said, clearing his throat as you finally looked up at him, almost out of reflex.

God he was gorgeous. Dark brown locks brushed neatly behind his ears, his piercing blue eyes looking directly at you, his tailed suit hugging every curve of his body, no wonder you slept with him in the first place.

“I just wanted to talk to you about, well,” he chuckled nervously, his hand rubbing the back of his head as he looked at his feet. He was just as nervous about this as you, possibly more.

“It’s okay,” you said quietly, his head shooting up at the sound of your voice, “neither of us knew you’d be teaching me and we were both a little intoxicated,” you assured him with a small smile he mimicked.

“Right,” he spoke, “it doesn’t have to be weird at all,” even you knew that was a lie. Neither of you could look at each other without being flustered and neither of you were good at covering up your emotions.

“It’s probably gonna be a little weird,” you laughed as he laughed as well, tipping his head to the side as he admired you, “that was a great night,” he whispered as both your laughter died down.

Your breath hitched as he said that, a wave of arousal flowing through you as you remembered what you both did that night, “it’s illegal,” you warned, although you didn’t sound too convincing, “it wasn’t on that night,” he smirked as you straightened up, gaining some confidence.

“Well, Dr. Stan,” you spoke in a fake preppy tone, “I must warn you that you’re venturing into some very dangerous waters,” now your tone was much more sultry than anything. You watched as he took a few steps towards you, his eyes much darker than when you first started talking to them.

“Careful, Miss [Y/L/N], you don’t wanna start something you can’t finish,” he whispered, his breath fanning over your face, “who says I can’t finish it?” You smirked as he bit his lip, trying his hardest not to take you right then and there.

The sound of voices outside the lecture hall made both you and Sebastian jump back just in time for the door to open and a new group of students came pouring in, “see you on Monday, Sebastian,” you smiled, returning to your normal voice before spinning on the heels of your feet and walking out of the hall.

The second you were outside you let out a large sigh, you were in deep and there was no way anyone was coming out of this unscathed. Fuck.

Hunting’s a total blast until you hit your heat. In between each cycle, you only know how much fun it is to catch a case, to get on the road and feel the rumble of Dean’s car beneath you, all open windows and loud music. The fights are always rough, but in the way that makes you feel strong, in a way that makes your muscles ache with anticipation just to think about it. And of course, there’s the feeling of knowing that you saved someone, that you stopped one small little evil and left the world a little better for it.

But then your heat hits, and you remember. Hunting is not ideal for an Omega.

Okay because they don’t get enough love on the show here are Kevin x Joaquin headcanons

Joaquin sneaks through Kevin’s window to bring him gifts without the sheriff realising. Kevin finds flowers on his desk at least once a week

Kevin has to hide the fact that through Joaquin he knows a few serpents and criminals. He’ll visit his dad at the station and try not to get recognised by the few serpents who he’s been introduced to

Joaquin and Jughead know each other through Jug’s dad and Joaquin finds himself talking a lot about Kev without even realising it because he’s proud of his boyfriend and ‘hey did I tell you about Kevin…’ and Jughead just can’t escape the relationship drama

Kevin gets dragged to a few bad places by Joaquin and just freaks out a little because he’s pretty sure half the people in these bars look like they wanna skin him alive and Joaquin finds his worrying adorable.

Finding decent places to hang out is so hard. They can’t at Kev’s house because of his dad and Joaquin hangs out at bad places and Pops would be too easy for Veronica to spy from another booth or for someone to recognise one of them and tell someone. Hotels are usually easiest.

Joaquin keeps trying to keep Kevin out of serious harm with the serpents. If someone suggests going after the sheriff or using Kevin to get info, he’ll immediately change subjects or suggest another plan. He knows they think using Kev is the endgame of the relationship but Joaquin is genuinely happy with Kevin and wants to be with him as long as possible. And God forbid someone try and come near HIS man

Kevin finds it SO HARD to keep this stuff a secret. Finally an openly gay guy who’s not only gorgeous but likes him back?! He of course can’t resist giving details to Veronica and Betty. It’s not even like they ask he just goes ‘fINE I HAVE A BF HIS NAME IS JOAQUIN AND HES BEAUTIFUL ’

Joaquin works on Andrews construction with Jug’s dad so he can find a subtle way to see Kevin. The others keep teasing him for going soft.

Kevin has one of Joaquin’s serpent jackets hidden at home. He breaks it out when his dad is out of the house or when Joaquin is stuck on business and can’t call. Somehow it makes him feel safer

Joaquin watches Kevin without him realising. There’s a killer on the loose and though Kevin would say he was fine. Joaquin wouldn’t let anyone get near his boyfriend. It’s this that makes him realise how bad he’s fallen for him and how guilty he feels for what the serpents might make him do

Once they go on a walk and end up and they end up where Kevin found Jason’s body and Joaquin is there to help calm him when the memories come back.

Know what these pictures bring to mind?

Super mountain man author Derek living in the middle of the woods, keeps to himself because brooding writer stereotypes and also people are the worst. So he’s legit like in the mountains somewhere, a ridiculously long way away from everything and it’s quiet and peaceful, and he can shift and go running without running into campers or people going skiing. He chops wood, he drinks coffee on his porch overlooking the valley, he writes—it’s peaceful and it’s quiet and he loves it.

And then one morning, he’s sitting on his porch, drinking his coffee and minding his own business, and a fucking serial killer wanders out of the woods. Dingy hat with a huge beard, looking like some crazy libertarian nutjob who lives in a tent to avoid the government taking his guns.

He’s a werewolf, but Derek doesn’t mess with serial killers, so he freezes and stares and hopes that if he doesn’t move, the serial killer just won’t see him. The guy looks a little rough around the edges, to say the least. It could happen.

Except the serial killer does eventually notice him, and he also freezes and stares, and seems to be…scared of him? Of the guy wearing flannel and drinking coffee with a book on his own front porch?

Turns out the serial killer is actually Stiles, out in the wilderness looking for his best friend Scott, who went on a camping trip with a couple college friends and hasn’t been heard from since. And Stiles is not actually a serial killer, just a really unequipped college kid roaming the woods, pretty damn lost, with a Tracking for Dummies book jammed in the bottom of his backpack.

And I mean living off trail mix and beef jerky levels of unequipped.

Like, the second this kid heard the rangers even start to suggest that they’d exhausted their resources, he said, “fuck you, I’ll find him myself” and took off into the mountains with his college backpack and the cheapest tent he could find.

So once Derek realizes that the not-serial killer is even more freaked out than he is, all he sees is a really pathetic, sore, and exhausted ball of rage and determination and offers him coffee. And actual food. And a shower because all he can smell is beef jerky.

Stiles is understandably weirded out because this dude offering him food definitely looks like a mountain man serial killer who cut himself off from society so no one would hear his victims’ screams.

There’s a lot of appearance-based assumptions all around.

The stupidest little things make Cas ridiculously happy.

The first time they see a hot air balloon, floating over a small town for no apparent reason. The first time they strip down to their underwear in the middle of summer and jump into a lake. The first time Cas plays a video game. No matter how mundane or normal it seems to Dean, Cas smiles like it’s the most amazing, impossibly wonderful thing that’s ever happened.

Dean finds himself pointing out the little things, finding small ways for them to enjoy life and enjoy each other, just so he can see that smile.

And though he loves it, he can’t help but ask Cas about it one day. They’re driving, and Cas is staring at a faint rainbow in the sky like it’s the first one to ever happen.

“It’s gorgeous, isn’t it?”

“Sure, Cas. But, uh. Why are you so into all this stuff?”

“All what stuff, Dean?”

Dean can feel those blue eyes on him without even looking, probably scrunched up, with his head tilted in that way that Dean has grown to love. “All this normal, human stuff. You’ve been around long enough to have seen and done all this before.”

“Yes, but I haven’t seen or done any of it with you before.”

Dean understands instantly. Cas’ words open up something in him, and when he looks from the road up to the rainbow, it’s a little brighter, a little more colorful than it seemed two minutes ago.

He should probably say something, but he’s never been very good at that.

So he just reaches out and holds Cas’ hand.

And that feels like the most amazing thing of all.

Peter and you had pretended that what you had been calling in your head “The Incident” never happened. He never repeated the words of “I always worry about you”, you never held his arm in your grip for more than a mere few seconds, he never cradled your face with his hands, and you never realized you loved him. To the two of you, it was like the day never existed.

You both moved on, acting as you normally would, but you were much more conscious of your actions. You thought Peter was, too. You didn’t act on impulse and grab his arm, or hand, or lean into him without thinking. And he didn’t leave you with small touches as he walked past you in the hallway, or ask constantly with a blatant worried expression how you were doing.

And you didn’t mind. You were best friends, not lovers. You didn’t mind.

“What’s up with you and Peter?” Ned suddenly appeared next to you as you stood in line to get on the bus, ready for the school field trip to take up the day of classes.

“I- what?” You asked, looking at him confusedly. You weren’t sure why he was asking this.

“You and Peter. You guys have been acting weird around each other lately. What happened?”

You still looked at him, confused. “Nothing happened. I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Did you tell him you liked him or something, because-”

“Shhh!” You hushed him immediately, placing your hands over his mouth. “Someone could hear you!”

He grabbed your wrists, removing them from his mouth, but still holding onto them. “Just tell him already,” he said, quieter this time.

“You know I can’t do that, Ned,” you replied back, furrowing your eyebrows.

You loved him, you loved him, you loved him.

You tried to push the thought out of your mind, and you had been trying to do so ever since “The Incident”. But with the words continuously repeating in your head, day in and day out, you didn’t think they would ever leave.

“I think-”

“Hey guys,” you heard Peter’s voice from behind you and whipped your head towards him, worried about how much of the conversation he had heard. As you and Ned both looked at him, he met neither of your eyes. His were trained one where Ned’s hands were clasped around your wrists.

You turned your eyes back to look at Ned, and both of your eyes widened when you realized what Peter was staring at. He let you rip your wrists from his grasp, and he shoved his hands into his pockets after letting yours go. You looked down at the ground nervously.

“What’s up?” Ned spoke, looking at Peter. You took a few seconds to compose yourself before looking at him too. His eyebrows were furrowed as he looked between the two of you.

“Uh, nothing, I just,” he didn’t look either of you in the eye. “Ned, want to sit with me on the bus?”

You bit your lip. You remembered that you and Peter had agreed to sit on the bus together just last week. You didn’t say anything when Ned said, “Sure.”

You looked down at the ground as Ned moved in front of you to stand next to Peter, and you were stood behind them as they spoke in lightning speed between them. That was never how it was with you and Peter. The two of you would speak slowly, listening intently to each other’s words to not miss even a detail of what was said.

You liked it that way. You liked how Peter would furrow his eyebrows lightly, biting his lip as he stared at you, looking as if he was concentrating to all of his ability, solely on you. You liked how he would murmur little “mhm”s as you would go on, and he would only start speaking when he was sure you were done. You liked how he listened to you.

It was a vast difference from seeing him now, and you wondered which way he preferred: fast-paced with Ned, or slow-paced with you. You always thought he preferred how he spoke with you, but now, seeing him grin with Ned as they easily threw words back at each other within seconds, you weren’t so sure.

You looked down at the ground sadly. You never remembered feeling so lonely before, especially with Peter always making sure to include you in everything. You turned around and walked out of the line without saying anything to the two boys who seemed to not even notice you leave. You glanced behind your shoulder as you were walking away, but you were only greeted by the sight of Peter still grinning at Ned.

“Hey, (Y/N),” you heard a voice say ahead of you and you looked up to see Michelle waiting in line, a few people back from where you previously stood, with a book in her hands.

“Oh, hey,” you forced a smile on your face, but the only thought that was bombarding your mind was,

You love him. He doesn’t love you. You love him. He doesn’t love you.

“Want to sit with me?” She asked, a knowing smile on her face. You gave her a real smile in response, moving into the space next to her.

“Thanks, MJ,” you said softly, head leaning back down to aim at the floor.

“He looked back at you,” she said, opening her book and beginning to read it. She stared down at it as you lifted your head to stare at her.

“What?” You asked, confused.

“Peter,” she elaborated, and your heart sped up at the mention of his name.

You needed to get this under control.

“What about Peter?” You asked, looking ahead of the line at him and Ned, where you saw them still talking.

“He looked back at you when you turned around and came my way.”

Your eyes widened the smallest bit. You didn’t want to believe her words so easily, because for all you could know, she was only telling you this to cheer you up. But still, you found your sadness deflate slightly.

“No, he didn’t,” you said, trying to convince yourself. “I turned around and looked. He was still talking to Ned.”

“Right when you turned around and started walking away,” she said. She was still looking at her book, but you weren’t so sure she was actually reading it. “He looked at you for a second. And when you turned around to look at him, he turned back around to Ned.”

“I, uh,” you stumbled over your words, not quite knowing what to think.

Why hadn’t he said anything? You and Peter would always be immediate to speak up if noticing something was wrong with the other. Neither of you ever hesitated on that. So why had he today?

“He looked at me,” you said monotonously, but Michelle knew it was a question. She knew you needed to hear it again.

“He looked at you,” she replied. She looked up from her book for a few moments to meet your eyes. “He looked a little worried to me, if I’m being honest.” She quirked her eyebrow at you for a quick second, smirking lightly, before looking back down at her book.

You looked back down to the ground, thinking.

But why didn’t he say anything?

***************************
I know it may seem like it’s taking a while for them to get together (or will they end up together?), but I want to make sure it’s realistic enough. After being friends for years, neither of them would want to chance ruining their friendship so easily by confessing after not being completely sure about themselves—and each other—yet. I hope you guys understand that! Let me know what you guys think of this one and voice your opinions! Whether they’re good or bad, I want to hear them! Requests are open, and if you guys want to send something from a prompt list I reblog, please let me know which list you’re asking from!

During Jack and Bitty’s 2nd summer together...

So Jack is in Georgia for a couple of days, right, and he comes back from a morning run to find both Bittle parents in the kitchen eating breakfast (Bitty slowly dragging is ass out of bed, he can hear the bathroom upstairs).

Suzanne greets him with a smile, Coach with a nod, Jack sits down to eat. Usually, there’s a fair amount of chatter- even without Bitty- because Jack is comfortable with both parents, but now they’re eating in silence. Throwing furtive glances at Jack. At each other. At Jack again.

Jack’s stars feeling the tingle in his fingers that announces his anxiety. He counts the seconds until Bitty leaves the bathroom- no, that was the sound of the shower. Alright then.

Suzanne places her mug back on the table.

- Jack, sweetheart, we need to talk to you.

Coach takes a sip of coffee and sits back straight.

- …Alright? says Jack.

- We’ve seen the way you look at Junior, says Coach in a matter-of-fact voice.

Could we create dark matter?

85% of the matter in our universe is a mystery. We don’t know what it’s made of, which is why we call it dark matter. But we know it’s out there because we can observe its gravitational attraction on galaxies and other celestial objects.

We’ve yet to directly observe dark matter, but scientists theorize that we may actually be able to create it in the most powerful particle collider in the world. That’s the 27 kilometer-long Large Hadron Collider, or LHC, in Geneva, Switzerland.

So how would that work? In the LHC, two proton beams move in opposite directions and are accelerated to near the speed of light. At four collision points, the beams cross and protons smash into each other.

Protons are made of much smaller components called quarks and gluons.

In most ordinary collisions, the two protons pass through each other without any significant outcome.

However, in about one in a million collisions, two components hit each other so violently, that most of the collision energy is set free producing thousands of new particles.

It’s only in these collisions that very massive particles, like the theorized dark matter, can be produced.

So it takes quadrillions of collisions combined with theoretical models to even start to look for dark matter. That’s what the LHC is currently doing. By generating a mountain of data, scientists at CERN are hoping to find more tiny bumps in graphs that will provide evidence for yet unknown particles, like dark matter. Or maybe what they’ll find won’t be dark matter, but something else that would reshape our understanding of how the universe works entirely.

And that’s part of the fun at this point. We have no idea what they’re going to find.

You had come back from an assignment only a few hours ago and all you wanted to do was have some time for yourself and your boyfriend, Steve. The breaks from work were rare since you had joined the Avengers a year and a half ago, but the good side was you had found a family and a loving boyfriend.

One of the biggest myths I see being promoted in the polyamory community is that people can control their feelings to the same extent that they can control their behavior. Couples who use “rules” will often include rules that aren’t just about behavior (i.e. “Ask me before you spend the night with someone else”) but also about feelings (i.e. “You can have sex with other people, but you can’t fall in love with them”; “We can’t love any other partners more than we love each other.”)

While you can, in theory, respond to unwanted feelings with behavior that neutralizes them (i.e. breaking up with a partner you’re developing feelings for), that will often be emotionally difficult and very painful, and also sets up a situation where people are very likely to break their promises in a very human and understandable way.

But even leaving the issue of rules aside, poly people (myself included) often make decisions based on the fantasy that we can control our feelings.

How many of us have gotten involved with someone who has made it very clear that we will never be allowed to be as intimate with them as they are with their “primary,” that certain forms of intimacy–being publicly known as partners, spending holidays with each others’ families, sharing a home, raising children–are forever off the table, all because we assumed that we can just choose to never *want* those things?

It’s easy at the beginning. You have a first date with someone from OkC, or you hook up with a friend, and you’re thinking, Wow, this person is super cute, I’ll see them casually cuz they don’t want to/aren’t allowed to be serious with anyone else, it’ll be great. Maybe it will. Sometimes that’s how it’s been for me. Other times it’s led to massive heartbreak when I realized that I wanted her to be my girlfriend all official-like, or that I could see myself living with him someday, but that would never happen because that person had already decided before we’d ever even gone out or kissed or fucked that it wouldn’t.

That’s why, nowadays, if someone tells me that their preexisting relationship literally precludes certain forms of intimacy with others (except the ones I truly don’t care about, like children and marriage), I won’t even fuck with it. Even if right now, you’re just a random friend I think is cute. Because we don’t control our feelings and I have way too awesome a life to live without sitting around mired in heartbreak because we love each other but can’t hold that truth up in the light and really look at it.

I like potential. I like being casual because that’s how the two of us have decided to do things, not because some third person I didn’t choose to be in relationship with has decided with you, for me.

The problem is, even rad consent-aware poly folks are rarely upfront with this. It’s usually only weeks or months into a dating situation that it comes up that, hey by the way, you’re always by default less important to me than this other person, sorry not sorry.

As far as I’m concerned, if I didn’t know from the beginning that that’s how your polyamory worked, then I didn’t enter into our relationship with informed consent.
