Really Important Thing for Witch-Minded or Pagan Minors

So, I know a lot of you can’t get information on witchcraft at home and that’s why you come to the witchblogs or paganblogs of adults, and a lot of you ask for mentoring or very specific, personal advise.

Legally, adults are not allowed to give you religious or spiritual counseling or guidance without parental consent. Asking an adult witch or pagan to “mentor” you or lead you in a spiritual lifestyle could result in a serious lawsuit if your parent or guardian finds out, please don’t put us in that position. I know it’s difficult to be a young witch or pagan especially without a welcoming household, but it’s even harder if your parents decide to sue someone because they were giving you instructions against their wishes.

Under-eighteens, PLEASE don’t guilt trip grown up witches who won’t mentor or teach you, we’re just covering our asses.

And adults, cover your asses and don’t mentor children unless you get actual confirmation from their parent, preferably in person. Lawsuits suck and most of us are pretty strapped for cash.

The Aries Witch ♈ Tea Baths

These would be a great way to cleanse before any ritual or spell work to rid you of any excess energies accumulated throughout the day!

Preparing a herbal bath tea requires selecting herbs and placing them in a muslin bag or on a circle of cheesecloth and tying up the sides (if you’re unsure how to do this, see:How to Make Bath Bags).

Optional additions such as oats, sea salt, Epsom salt, and/or essential oils add extra soothing benefits to your bath tea.

Herbal bath tea can also be made by brewing an extra strong tea (using 3-4 ounces of herbs), straining it, and pouring directly into the tub.

Herbs Suitable for Bath Teas:

Roses – anti-inflammatory, astringent, also helpful in treating insomnia and nervous tension.

Lavender – calming and sleep-inducing.

Chamomile – relaxing and calming. Perfect for unwinding at the end of the day.

Peppermint – invigorating and energizing.

Calendula – skin soothing and anti-inflammatory.

Lemon Balm –  helps calm restlessness and treat inflammatory conditions.

Rosemary – astringent, useful for cell-regeneration, an wound healing.

Plantain – anti-inflammatory and astringent, also useful in wound healing.

Oats, ground (can also be used to simple and frugal skin care products) – good for itchy, dry skin.

Sunflower seeds, ground – great for softening ski.n

How to Make an Herbal Bath Tea

Select herbs. (You may choose one herb, or use 3 or 4. It’s completely up to you.) Use a total of about 8 tablespoons of herbs if filling a muslin bag. This amount is very flexible, so adjust as needed.

If you are using a circle of fabric instead of a muslin bag, you will need to reduce this amount to 2-3 tablespoons.

Decide if you will include any additions. Again, choose one or more. Use 1-2 tablespoons of each.

Place ingredients in a muslin tea bag. Muslin bags can be purchased online and in some health food stores, or try making your own. (If you buy in bulk, you’ll find that muslin bags come in handy for a variety of gifts and other uses).

To use: tie bath bag under faucet so the water will go through the herbs as the bath tub fills with water. Once the bath is full, remove the bag from the facet and float in the water.

Soak in the bath for 20 minutes.

Some Suggested Combinations:

As mentioned above, customized bath teas can be made by choosing a variety of herbs and mixing an matching them as desired. If you’d like a little help, try a few of these suggestions:

  • Rose and chamomile – relaxing and uplifting
  • Calendula, lemon balm, plantain, and oats – soothing to skin
  • Lavender and chamomile – relaxing and calming
  • Peppermint, rosemary, and sea salt – invigorating
  • Epsom salt and chamomile – soothing to tired muscles
  • Rosemary, lavender, a lemon rind – to soothe skin and wake up the senses
  • Sunflower seeds, oats, calendula and plantain – skin soothing and softening

Witchy Tips: Bargain Hunting

When searching for materials, don’t be afraid to go secondhand/OP shopping or simply to your local supermarket

 * candles can always be found at secondhand stores and they’re usually priced at around 50 cents each! Though when I have a bought a bunch they bulk price it for even cheaper! * same with candle holders, they’re so common and barely ever more than $5

 * Secondhand stores will always have spare pieces of cloths and fabrics you can use during spells or even as your altar cloth! (Would recommend washing them first)

 * They have so many bowls, all the time! You will always find something you can use to burn incense in or a smudge bowl. Again, these sell for like a dollar

 * figurines are also really common in secondhand stores, they’re a great place to look for God and goddess figures for your altar as they always have antique and unique pieces for super cheap!

 * most herbs and spices can easily be found in your local supermarket! These are just as good as something home grown, it’s all about intent after-all :)

 * The Reject Shop (not sure if these exist in any place other than Australia? Hey may be called things like Dollar Stores???) always has candles for reasonable prices

 * If you are needing to find a herb or spice that you can’t find in a supermarket, ETSY is an online store with lots of witchy supplies :) chances are it won’t be cheap but what can you do!

 * 90% of my book collection has been bought secondhand from either Op shops, fairs or garage sales. I picked up 10 books on mythology, aromatherapy, dreams and such for like $7 at a school fair once! And secondhand stores charge from 0.50 cents to $5 for books so they’re always a great place to look!

*Heaps of towns have monthly/weekly markets and many i have been too have crystal stalls and they’re usually a lot cheaper than stores! I bought a bunch of crystals for about $20 in total! and they were raw, points and clusters :) Very cheap and good quality.

Blessed Be, The Aries Witch ♈️

A Severing Spell

This spell is to be conducted to break free from past issues, problems and pain. :)

you need;

- A charcoal disc in a Fire proof bowl

- A black candle, this can be inscribed with empowerment sigils if you chose

- something to light your candle and incense with

-  A black cord, your height

- 1 teaspoon each of Myrrh resin and Saffron (Not mixed)

To start, prepare everything that you will need in the area that you will be performing this spell. You want everything you need IN you circle once you have cast it.

Once you have called upon you circles and such, light up your charcoal this. I have found this is easiest done by holding it with tongs or tweezers first to get it lit. As you light it say;

“ By this token  am freed and advance toward to light”

Sprinkle your Myrrh Resin on the charcoal disc and then gather your black cord. Tie a single knot at one end. This will symbolise the memories you wish to leave behind. Then you can go ahead and tie another knot in the other end of the cord which will represent your future of happiness and success. Holding the ‘past’ knot in your left hand, and the’future’ knot in your right, place the center of cord over the flame to essentially ‘sever’ yourself from your past. Next, burn your ‘ past’ knot entirely, by placing it on top of your charcoal disc.

Place the Saffron over the top of your ‘past’ knot which is now burning with your incense, and k=hold on to your ‘future’ knot, knowing that you are now free and are able to move on to better things.

Keep your’future’ knot in a safe place of you might like to bury it in your garden.

Blessed Be witches xx
