Just a sneak peek of one of the series of prints I’m working on for Bronycon! This one just came to me last night so all of these were only just done today, but I’m honestly excited for them.

Originally the concept was “Twilight has the ability to summon her friends” and while that remains intact, I don’t know if Twilight can only summon her friends’ spirits because she’s the only one alive, or what she’s actually summoning is the power of the Elements of Harmony, but each element shapes themselves into their current bearer’s visage (aka the Mane 6). If the latter, the rest of her friends would be fine and alive, and the only time Twi ever uses this summons is because she goes where they physically can’t accompany her. (if you guys have a preference to which backstory, let me know!)

Regardless of how it happens, the basic concept remains and I thought it’d be a fun project to work on. There’s some tidbits of lore here and there in it too, so I’m excited to share that too! :3

A sneak peek of another project I’m working on for Bronycon. This one I hope to compile in a book of some sort to make it seem photo-album like. The basic idea behind it is: The Mane 6 and Spike go on a road-trip and take pictures of their adventure on the way. I’ve always wanted to do something like this, and I think my skill as an artist has finally reached a point where I can at least attempt it. The series of images will all be speedpaints and roughly done, and “framed” like a Polaroid picture would be. I’m so excited to share this one with you guys, it’s gonna be fun! ^.^

As for the images, they are in order (and yes I’ll draw clothes on them; these are just base drawings):

1. Twilight, Rainbow, Pinkie, and Spike all crash on the couch of their hotel room after a busy day out.

2. Rarity and Twi are both caught in a surprise pic while eating breakfast. Rarity’s showing off just how photogenic she is, even so early in the morning.

3. Rainbow, Applejack, and Pinkie all take a selfie during a gas stop.

4. Applejack carries an exhausted and drunk Fluttershy back to the hotel after a night of drinking. Poor thing’s a lightweight but at least she had some fun.

starting up the next half of season 6 with an experiment of two images based on the new episode. Which was a lot of fun and hit a bit close to home with the convention setting. :)

Honestly I am thinking of making these two art styles the definitive sign of Jowybean fanart.

Wip: included ;)

Work-in-progress!

This is going to be a 2014 update on my old picture of the humanized mane six. Gonna be adding the outfits next.

This isn’t the final version because obviously they’re not clothed xD And just basic coloring for now since I’m going to be doing an outfit overlay for the final anyway.

I wanted to focus on adding slight variations to their body types. Some of my general headcanons have stayed the same since the old drawing- Fluttershy is still tall, RD short, that kinda stuff. I decided to try out a bulky Applejack, and gave Pinkie Pie a bit of pudge. And I think I already mentioned in the past how short-haired Twilight has grown on me over time, so I stuck with the bob cut.

The outfits will be generally the same with RD and Fluttershy almost done, and I’ve already laid out the sketches for the rest of them but I still don’t expect to finish this anytime soon.

Currently taking a break from doing art for the book and decided to play around with some sketches I had lying around. I decided to fully flesh this doodle out because quite a few folks has asked me about whether or not I was gonna draw Daring Do in the past, so here she is! My headcanon version of A.K Yearling, aka Daring Do.

As much as I liked the episode that featured A.K as an actual pony, what really bothered me about the character was that she was LITERALLY a recolor of Rainbow Dash, and that’s about it. The design was originally fine with me the first time they introduced her because Dash was reading the book and, because of that, it made sense that she looked like Dashie ‘cause it felt like she was pretty much seeing the adventure through Daring’s eyes. But if they were gonna make her an actual, living pony, I think they could have done something a little more than just change her color palette. :/ So I made sure she didn’t look like a carbon copy of RD.

What I did was take a picture of J.K Rowling and loosely base A.K’s face off of hers (specifically her eyes and mouth; I just had to add those laugh lines). I also gave her some markings just ‘cause I can. As a seasoned adventurer and explorer, I made A.K taller, heavier, and more muscular than what RD is, and her wings are larger. I wanted her to look as wise and as experienced as she seemed in the show, someone that could really wow RD because she just seemed larger than life itself, and still haven’t lost her edge despite being nearly 50.

As a better comparison, I added the headcanon drawing I did of RD a while ago and put them side by side; you can see it HERE

And finally, some headcanon on her history:

Okay, so for the headcanon on this character. This is completely off the top of my head so bear with me here. :/

A.K Yearling’s full name is Atlas Kiera Yearling, and she is a mare that is initially an archaeologist and an author of textbooks. Originally the digs and sites she’s been to around the world were, of course, interesting, but none really had any of the huge adventuring and possible conspiracy elements that her adventure for the artifact the Sapphire Stone did. This was basically the very first adventure that really put her at odds against Ahuizotl, her efforts in retrieving the artifact both saving the world and putting a wrench in the creature’s plans.

It’s from here on out that more adventures similar to this one began to dominate her archaeology career, her skill-set becoming more and more sought out when it came to discovering and retrieving very rare or difficult-to-locate artifacts. It eventually got to a point where A.K began conducting her business in solitude, with only her contractor and perhaps the occasional aid knowing of her whereabouts. These journeys would more on one occasion lead her to an artifact Ahuizotl had plans of stealing himself, and eventually it became something of a strange routine in an attempt to best the other; one for the sake of discovering, the other for the use of artifacts in an attempt to further ill-willed motives. The two share a grudging respect for the other due to their prowess in the field, but that’s about it.

These adventures happened often enough that, during her downtime, Atlas began writing stories based on her life under the pen-name A.K Yearling. The stories, when finally published, were such a large hit that it eventually became a series with the main Heroine dubbed Daring Do, an alias she used during her first encounter with Ahuizotl so he wouldn’t know of her actual name.

Until then, if you have any questions feel free to ask. And thanks for droppin’ by! ^.^

It took a little bit to get the faces correct, but I finally did it!

The WIP sketch for a painting I’ve been wanting to do for a long time now; something that includes the entire cast of the Mane 6 with Spike. So, I decided to do a painting where the Mane 6 and Spike are all taking a picture together, perhaps while they’re on vacation or something, and they’re all just having the time of their lives.

I don’t know I’ve ever said this, but one of the several things I really love about MLP is the friendship dynamic they present regarding the Mane 6 and Spike. The lot of them are just so lovely together, and when they interact, whether it be them arguing or getting along or annoying each other or whatever else, you can still easily tell that they’d go to the end of the earth and back for one another. It’s really awesome, but, I wouldn’t expect less from a show called “Friendship is Magic.” x3

Anyway, I had loads of fun drawing this, especially the characters’ posing and expression. I think my favorite has to be Pinkie’s while she nuzzles her head to Fluttershy. ^.^ This will be painted on Wood Panel, with only the photo part painted so it could look like the picture was sitting on a wooden desk or something. I’m so excited to work on it! This will be the first time I work with wood panel. I hope I do good. D:

But uh… yeah. I still don’t really know what the background should be. Any suggestions would b appreciated. C:

That said, feel free to also ask a question if you have one, and thank you for takin’ a look at this WIP sketch! 8D
