Teen Dad (PART ONE)

“Did he really just say ’I still have that Stark Internship after all’?” you thought.

Is he saying that being Spider-Man is more important than you two’s future?

Even May was surprised.

“Is that all you care about Peter?”

“It’s my future (Y/n)!”

“And this baby isn’t?!”

May walked up to Peter, I think she was about to slap him, but you stopped her before she could even pass you.

“I just don’t think I could be a dad yet (Y/n). Wh– what are you going to do?”

“What am I going to do?”

He nods. Wow.

You scoff, scratching the back of your head.

“I can’t believe you right now,” you said quietly, looking away from him.

You turn to him slowly.

“I’m going to raise this baby by myself. If you’re not going to help me.”

And with that, you got up and walked away. Stopping by the door, you turn to Aunt May.

“I’ll keep you updated May.”

Then you turn to Peter.

“See you around Pete.”

And with that, you were gone. No pleading for you to stay, no ‘I’m sorry (Y/n), I didn’t mean to. Please don’t go.’ Not even a text, or a call. There might be some tears. Though you didn’t see them, you saw his eyes shining, covered with a thin layer of unshattered tears.

I guess this was it.

It’s been a few weeks since the day you told Peter. Still no word from him.

You were now a month and a half along. Still not showing.

You got new sonogram pictures. You would stop by Peter’s to give them to Aunt May. Peter was never there. Being Spider-Man seems like his only priority.

Winter Break was starting, you finished your last final of the first semester. This was the first time you got through a final without having a ‘study date’ with Peter the week before.

Walking through the hallways of Midtown, you saw Peter for the first time in weeks. He was taking out books from his locker, while talking to Ned.

You sucked it up, holding your head up high, and walking right past him. He didn’t even flinch, continuously talking to Ned.

“Dude, she just walked past you. What are you doing? I haven’t seen you talking in weeks! What is going on?”

“It’s complicated Ned.”

“Seriously, what’s happening between you too?”

Peter looks at him with a stern face, opening his locker wider for him to see.

“Woah, are you serious?”

Inside his locker door was two ultrasounds pictures. The first one you ever got taken and the second one you just took. You gave two to Aunt May, just incase Peter decided to care.

“Is it (Y/n)’s?”

Peter scoffs, giving Ned a shove, “of course it’s hers! Who else would it be?”

Ned holds his hands up, “alright. Geez.”

Peter looks at him silently before slamming his locker close.

“What am I going to do Ned?”

“What do you want to do?”

“I don’t want to lose her, but then again, I’m not ready to be a dad either!”

He sighs, rubbing his face, “I can’t take care of a baby and the world at the same time.”

“The world? That’s what the Avengers are for.”

“Alright, then the city.”

“Which one do you think is more important? Being Spider-Man or being with (Y/n)?”

Peter looks at his best friend, then the ground, “I don’t know Ned. I love being Spider-Man, but I love (Y/n) too. I have no idea what to do.”

He looks back up to him.

“I’m scared.”

When you got home, you ran straight to your room, ignoring your mom’s question.

“How was your day sweetie?”

She says it everyday, and everyday you replied with a sniffle.

You jumped on your bed, crying for the millionth time. You actually saw him today, and he didn’t even notice you. He really doesn’t care does he?

You lay there, for the rest of the day.

“This is how I’m going to be spending the next two weeks aren’t I?” you asked yourself.

“No, no you’re not.”

You turn around to see your mom standing at the door.

“What do you mean I’m not? I’ve been spending the last few weeks like this and I think I’m starting to get used to it.”

She walks towards you, sitting at the foot of your bed.

“You need to stop crying about Peter.”

“Why mom? Why? I can’t help it that it upsets me that a stupid ‘internship’ is more important than our relationship.”

Your mom looks at your face with concern, wiping away the tears that stained your cheeks.

“I promise, everything will be alright.”

You nod.

Because you trusted her words.

Because your mom never broke a promise.

Peter climbed out the window, wearing his suit, swinging across the city.

He stopped at the roof of one building, just comfortably sitting at the edge, eating a churro.

“Hello? Mr. Stark? I just wanted to know if I have any missions to go to this coming week? I just got out of school. I have winter break for two weeks, so I’m free for whenever you need me!”

“Nope! We got everything covered! Enjoy your winter break Spidey, by–”

“Wait! Mr. Stark! What if you have any emergency missions? Call me?”

“Spidey– listen– we have everything under control alright? Just enjoy your break. Spend time with your girlfriend or something. (Y/n) right?”

Peter suddenly felt his heart drop, looking down at the cars and shops below him.

“Yeah, about that–” Peter scratches his head. He can feel a knot beginning to form in his throat.

“Mr. Stark?”

“What is it Peter?”

“I made a huge mistake and I still don’t know what to do about it.”

Peter had tears streaming down his cheeks. He runs his fingers through his messy curls.

“I– I don’t know what to do..”

Peter waited in front of Starbucks, then, a car pulled up to him.

The windows roll down slowly, “Get in.”

Peter nodded, getting into the black car.

“So what happened Pete? What’s got you so down?”

Peter looks up at Tony, “(Y/n)’s pregnant, and I didn’t react the way she wanted me too when she told me and we haven’t talked for weeks.”

Tony scoffs, “that’s it? Why? You didn’t start crying? Or screaming ‘oh my gosh this is amazing!’? Girls always expect so much more, don’t they?”

Peter shook his head ‘no’, “No, it wasn’t like that Mr. Stark.”

“Then what happened?”

Peter inhaled deeply, “I told her that I wasn’t ready to be a dad because I had to be Spider-Man and I can’t do those two at once.”

Tony looks at him with a shocked expression, shaking his head and turning away from him.

“And why would you say that?” he said, after a moment of looking out the window.

Peter shrugged, “I don’t know? Because it’s true?”

“You care about being Spider-Man more than (Y/n)?”

“I– I don’t know?”

“Then why’d you say it?”

“I don’t know! Maybe because being Spider-Man would be better than being a dad.”

Tony shook his head.

“Peter. Do you like not having a dad?”

“No? Why would you say that?”

“Then why are you doing that to your own child? You’re really leaving (Y/n) to be Spider-Man?”

“Well, if you think about it, I’d be saving a lot of lives.”

“And how does that work?”

“Well… if I stay with (Y/n) and raise the baby, I would be taking care of two lives. Her and the baby right? But if I become Spider-Man, I’d be saving millions of lives.”

“But whose lives are more important to you?”

“My family of course.”

“And who are your family?”

“Aunt May and (Y/n).”

“Well so which are you choosing, being Spider-Man, or being a dad?”

“I told you, I don’t know.”

Tony rolls his eyes, this kid is just not getting it.

“Peter, I’m saying this one more time. You said your family’s lives are more important to you, yes?”

“If you were out right now, as Spidey, and you’re alone and you spot two crimes while swinging across buildings. One: A bank is getting robbed, the employees are held at gunpoint. Two: (Y/n)’s getting robbed and having a gun to her head. Who would you go to?”

“But more people would die if you don’t stop the bank robbery. If you go to (Y/n), only one life would be saved.”

Peter looked down, and thought about it.

“Do you understand now?”

He nods, before getting out of the car and running off.

Not another word to Tony Stark.

Everyone has a time in their life when they sit down and think, thinking about their past, present, and future, and simply wonder, what could you have done/or been doing different?

So you sit there, your brain wracking for the answers you lack, but there are none, simply because you truly didn’t know.

Instead, you look back on the good times, the times you’d rather remember rather than the ones that burden you almost everyday.

You’d sit there and laugh at the memories, which was all they were to you now, memories.

“Hey Y/N?” Peter questioned, looking over at you with his brows furrowed, making you smile.

“Yes, Peter?” You’d respond, a quiet giggle escaping your lips.

“If I’m standing outside, does that mean I’m outstanding?” He grinned, looking over at you as your eyes widened slightly, laughter escaping your lips as his stupid joke.

“O-Oh my god, P-Peter!” You’d laugh, making his face tint red, him beginning to laugh along with you.

“I’m serious!” He’d whine, making you laugh even harder.

Those were the good days.

And then the laughter would stop, and you’d sit there alone, blankly staring out the window, wondering to yourself, where did it all go wrong?

In a matter of seconds your life was great, you’d never been happier, but it can take even less time for it to be ruined, taken away from you, leaving you empty and broken.

And that’s what Peter Parker did, he broke you, making you feel empty and alone in just a matter of seconds.

And now, here you are, staring out the window at the busy streets of Queens, the city lights reflecting off your window into your apartment, an aching pain in your chest, your brain once again wracking for answers, only to end up leaving you with more questions.

Where did it really all go wrong? Were you too blind to see the red flags? Did you not love him enough? What had you done wrong? What made him do what he did?

A tear would slip down your cheek, a frustrated sigh escaping your lips, this was an ongoing process since the breakup three months ago.

And yet everyday, you’d sit in the same place, going through the same process, all over a boy who no longer wanted you.

“Y/N, we need to talk.” Peter spoke up suddenly, walking you up to your door to your apartment.

“Yeah, sure, what’s up?” You’d smile, turning to face him only to see his face filled with sorrow.

“This.. us.. it’s not working anymore.. I-I’m s-sorry..” He’d whisper, and for a second you thought he was joking, but when a tear would slip down his cheek you knew he was serious.

“I-I don’t understand..” You’d whisper back, your hands starting to shake, this wasn’t real, was it?

Peter would look at the ground guilty, avoiding your heartbreaking gaze.

“W-Was I n-not good e-enough?” You’d choke out, his head snapping up quickly, his eyes wide at your question.

Of course you were good enough, you were the only girl for him, but he needed to protect you, protect you from his alter ego, Spider-Man and what came with that version of him.

But, at the time, Peter couldn’t form the words, he couldn’t tell you how wrong you were and how much you meant to him, he just froze.

So, in response, you just nodded your head, your heart now shattered, your eyes bloodshot red.

And that was the last time you ever spoke to him.

Your friends would ask you what happened between the two of you, at first you’d ignore them, pretending it wasn’t reality and that it truly never did happen, but as time passed you had soon started to accept it, and then one day you finally cracked, and answered their question they had been dying to know.

You let out an annoyed sigh, stopping in the middle of the hallway, your friends gathering around you, eager to hear your answer after waiting for so long.

Your mouth parted, about to finally speak when a certain pair of brown eyes locked with yours, making your heart stop, the shattering feeling slowly creeping back into your heart.

You both couldn’t tear your eyes away from each other, his eyes looked tired and lost, while yours looked empty and alone, and before you knew it, those four words slipped past your quivering lips.

“I wasn’t good enough.”

Shelter From The Storm

pairing: steve rogers x reader

summary: steve is heading home from tony’s beach house and it starts to storm, so he stops at your house for the night. you’re shocked that an avenger is at your house, but you and steve have a special connection.

warnings: none

The wind was already beginning to howl, and you peeked out the front window to catch a flash of lightning streaking across the sky. Everything on the island was temporarily illuminated by the flash, and you saw a car approaching the front of your house. There were a few other houses on the block, but they were the same size as your little beach abode. You and the house had survived a few hurricanes together already, so this was nothing. What sounded like a car door out front alerted you, but you couldn’t tell if it was something hitting the house or an actual door. Before you could wonder any longer, there were three solid raps on the wooden front door. All you could think about was the fact that no one should’ve been out in the storm, so your heart skipped a beat when you turned the knob to see who was behind the door.

A shivering Steve Rogers stood on your doorstep, “Ma'am, can I please come in?”

There wasn’t a bone in your body that could say no to this man, he’s Captain America! So you ushered him inside quickly before the storm could take anymore of a toll on him, and closed the door behind him. You were shocked more than anything, and you couldn’t keep your thoughts straight as you went over to the closet that held the towels. After retrieving some of your softer towels, you walked back over to Steve who was awkwardly standing on the mat by the front door. Never in your life did you think that you would meet any of the Avengers, let alone Captain Spangle Pants himself.

“You can take off your shoes and get comfy, you’re going to be here for a while.” You handed over the towel and introduced yourself, “I am y/n by the way, it’s nice to meet you.”

“I’m Steve, judging by the look on your face when you opened the door you already know that.” He chuckled, and explained why he was there, “I was down here for the afternoon, since Stark has a house a couple blocks down.” Steve continued on, and said that once the rain started the island became a maze. Your house was one of the few that still had lights on, so he came running to your doorstep. Out of curiosity, you asked him about where the hell Stark’s mansion was. When he explained how he normally got there from the mainland, you realized that it was on the mansion side of the island. You rarely ever ventured over there unless a friend was throwing a party, but you knew that Iron Man would fit right in over there.

Steve made himself comfortable on the couch, and he seemed to have warmed up some. The cold rain was still pouring down outside, and you did another round of the house to make sure it wasn’t coming in any of the windows. You looked at the clock under the tv, it was already 10:03 pm. Despite being as tired as a dog from working all day long, there was something inside telling you to stay up and to just have this experience.

After plopping down onto the love-seat next to the couch where Cap was seated, you leaned on your hand and smiled, “So, tell me about yourself, Mr. Rogers.”

He seemed surprised you asked him, but he looked at the ceiling as he answered, “There’s not much that isn’t on the news anymore-” His voice was a little sad as he spoke those words, but it was true to the fullest extent.

“I mean what are your interests, what are your friends like… Stuff I wouldn’t hear from a tv ‘Steve Rogers’.” You cut him off, and he smiled with intrigue. The experience of having an Avenger seeking refuge in your house wasn’t ever going to happen again, and you figured you would take advantage of it.

He wasn’t used to people genuinely seeing him and not just the hero they play him up to be on the tv. Steve pulled the towel a little tighter around his shoulders, and said softly, “I love to paint and draw, plus getting to design the new suits is always fun.” Another smile. “How about you, Y/n?” The way your name sounded on Steve’s lips was like music to your ears.

Through the next two hours, both of you talked about your pasts, and what you wanted for your futures. Steve talked a lot about his super friends, and they all seemed like amazing people. The storm was still raging on into the midnight hours, but you were so into the conversation with him that you couldn’t tear your eyes or ears away from the blonde. You had gotten up a few times to get some snacks, and another towel for Steve and then the conversations carried on. Soon enough the sun was beginning to shine through the window facing the ocean, and it caught your eye.

“Shit, I have work!” you exclaimed, the clock under the tv showed it was 6:04 AM. Immediately you were on your feet, looking out the windows on the front of the house. The storm must’ve stopped a while before, but you and Steve had been so into talking and watching tv that you didn’t notice the wind and rain stop. He was already on his feet, stretching and getting ready to leave your house. It was a shame that it was over, but your job wouldn’t allow you to take anymore time off. You scribbled your number down on a small piece of paper, and put it into Steve’s hand. “Call me if you’re ever in the area again, or just want to chat.” Steve couldn’t help but blush as you handed him your number, and the two of you quickly made your way out of the house.

Work sucked, but what sucked even more was coming home to no Steve Rogers. It was around 7pm, and you were trying to find busy work by cleaning to distract you from thinking about the super soldier. You knew that it was a once in a lifetime thing, so why were you so upset about him being gone? Although you’d given him your number, he hadn’t texted or anything, so it was just something you had decided to accept. The sun was finally all the way down past the horizon, and you decided it was time to settle in for the night. There were a few things left on your dvr and you got to work on them. About 20 minutes into your shows, there was a knock at the front door. Nobody was supposed to be dropping by, so you were on your feet and at the door in a second. You opened the door cautiously since nobody was expected that night.

Steve Rogers was standing there, hands in his pockets and a smile on his face. “I know this is sudden,” he scratched the back of his neck, “But would you like to go on a date with me? I feel like I owe you that, considering I kept you up all night and ate all your snacks.” He started to ramble on, which made him look even more cute to you in that surprising moment.

Your heart nearly leapt out of your chest, and you nodded your head as you cut him off, “I would love to.”

Former Avenger Turned Actress:

- Summary

Hydra base, Germany…

Y/N ran alongside Steve and Natasha as they raced down a corridor of a Hydra base in the middle of the German mountains, dodging any bullets that whizzed by.

“Clint, be waiting outside with the Quinjet!” Natasha yelled into her comm.

Y/N kept running, but glanced behind and blasted a fire ball from the palm of her hand, trying to slow down the Hydra agents.

“Tony? How’s it going up in the air?!” Y/N asked as she kept blindly tossing fireballs behind her as she ran.

“I just disabled their air canons. You guys should be good to go when you get here. Just run straight to the Quinjet!” The billionaire replied.

“Got it!” She yelled back as she, Steve, and Natasha reached the main door of the base.

Y/N quickly turned around and started throwing fireballs relentlessly at the Hydra agents as they drew closer to them.

“Ow!” Suddenly, Y/N felt an excruciating pain shoot through her left arm. She looked down at the palm of her hand and saw a small dart lodged in the center.

“Y/N!” Steve rushed to his friend as he saw her body start to fall to the ground as she lost consciousness.

Steve quickly scooped her up in his arms before he and Natasha continued to run out of the base.

“Agent Y/L/N is down! I repeat, Agent Y/L/N is down!” Natasha barked into her earpiece.

“Quick! Get her in here, I’ll take a look at her.” Bruce said as Steve and Natasha reached the steep ramp of the Quinjet.

Tony quickly flew to the door of the Quinjet right behind them, letting Clint close the door right after.

Steve gently laid Y/N down and let Bruce check her over. He could faintly hear her mumbling something in her sleep.

A concerned Thor and Clint came to stand next to everyone else after the jet was put on autopilot. They all watched the doctor pull a small dart out of the palm of her hand.

“What in the hell is that?” Clint asked as he squinted to look at the dart.

Bruce held the dart up close in front of his eyes, examining it.

“I don’t know…” He responded a bit worriedly.

Everyone then turned their attention towards an unconscious Y/N and watched concerned as she twitched slightly in her sleep.

The Avengers Tower, Medical Wing…

Beep… Beep… Beep…

Y/N groaned slightly as she started to come back into consciousness.

Why does my hand hurt so bad?” That’s the first question that popped into her head as her eyes fluttered open.

She looked all around the room and noticed the screen that was monitoring her heart rate. She then looked down at her left arm and saw the IV sticking out of it. Letting her gaze drift down her arm a little more, she noticed her hand was wrapped up in gauze.

Y/N quirked an eyebrow in question, but then lifted her head when she heard the door to the room open.

Dr. Helen Cho walked in, which wasn’t much of a surprise, given that she did come to the tower occasionally. But, what was a bit of a surprise, was that Director Fury walked in right behind her.

“Good to see you awake.” Dr. Cho commented as she checked over the clipboard that was at the end of the bed.

“How long have I been out?” Y/N asked as she looked back and forth between Dr.  Cho and the Director.

“About a day and a half.” Fury answered as he took a seat in the chair next to the bed.

Her eyes widened a bit in surprise, but she shook her head at the thought and asked a question. “Why are you here, Nick?”

He sighed and leaned forward in his chair. “How much do you remember before you blacked out?”

Y/N furrowed her eyebrows as she tried to recall everything. “Well… I remember running alongside Steve and Natasha through the Hydra base. I remember skidding to a halt and turning around right before we exited the base and throwing fireballs at the Hydra agents. And then I think I remember a pain shooting up my left arm and seeing a dart in the palm of my hand. And then… nothing. Just darkness…”

Dr. Cho gave her a look of sorrow, which made Y/N confused.

She looked back and forth between the two. “What? What’s wrong? Are you guys not telling me something?”

“Y/N,” Fury began. “that dart, it wasn’t an ordinary dart. When you all got back here, and you were brought to be properly looked over, Dr. Banner took the dart down into his lab and examined it. He found… something.”

Y/N raised an eyebrow. “What did he find?…”

“The dart was infused with this serum.” He began gently. “Once the serum got into your bloodstream, it disabled your ability to create fire.”

“What?!” Y/N exclaimed, sitting straight up. That caused the monitor to start beeping erratically because of Y/N’s increasing heart rate, and her blood pressure to spike.

“Woah there.” Dr. Cho said gently as she forced Y/N to lean back against the pillow. “You need stay calm. We don’t want your body to go into more shock than its already been through.”

“What the hell am I supposed to do now?!” Y/N asked frantically, breathing deeply as she tried to calm herself. “I’ve had this power almost my entire life. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do without it…”

Nick watched with pity as he noticed a few silent tears stream down her face. “Y/N, you’re a great agent, but I understand if you need to take some time to absorb everything.”

She looked down sadly at her hands that rested in her lap and nodded. “Thank you, Nick…”

Fury stood up and gave Y/N small pat on the shoulder before he and Dr. Cho left the room, leaving her to her thoughts.

2 days later…

Pietro and Wanda were walking through the Avengers Tower on their way down to one of the various training rooms that were scattered about.

They both had heard what had happened to Y/N on the mission. Neither of them had been on the mission with everyone, but they had been debriefed on everything that had happened when everyone got back.

As they walked along a hallway, they passed by the personal gym with fire-retardant walls and windows that Tony had had constructed for Y/N.

The Maximoff twins stopped in front of a window that let you look into the gym from the hallway, and saw Y/N furiously hitting a punching-bag over and over again with her fists.

They both shared a look of sympathy for the woman who was trying to get out all of her pent up frustrations. They really did feel bad for her and just hoped she’d be able to get past this somehow.

The twins just continued on down the hall, thinking it was best to leave Y/N be.

With Y/N, About 10 minutes later…

She punched the bag over and over again.

She had been getting looks of pity from everyone in the tower.

“I…Don’t…Need…Pity.” Y/N said with gritted teeth and punched the bag for emphasis with each word. “Not…At…All.”

And with the last punch, the bag went flying off the hook and slid a short distance across the floor.

“You know…” A familiar voice said as it entered her gym. “You remind me a lot of me a little while after I got out of the ice.”

Y/N panted and snagged her water bottle off of the ground near her gym bag. She greedily gulped the refreshing substance down until the bottle was half empty before turning to look at Steve. “Yeah, well, going to sleep in the 1940’s and waking up in 2011 is a lot different than losing friggin’ fire powers you’ve had for most of your life.”

He chuckled softly and picked up another punching bag and hung it on the hook. “True. Still, it doesn’t mean you should work yourself too hard on a punching bag.”

Y/N nodded slowly, not making eye contact as she unwrapped the gauze from her hands to replace it. “I could say the same to you, Captain.”

Steve watched as she replaced the gauze and wrapped it around her now bruised knuckles. He saw that she was slightly wincing in pain as she was wrapping her second hand.

“Here.” Steve said as he came up to her and took her hand, finishing wrapping it for her.

“Thanks.” Y/N muttered.

She brushed past him and headed straight for the punching bag.

“What are you going to do though?” He asked as Y/N got into a punching position.

“I don’t know, Steve. I really don’t know.” And with that, she began punching the bag again.

Steve watched her for a moment before just sighing and walking out of her gym, leaving her to her thoughts.

A/N: Hope you liked the first part! :) I know this part didn’t really have any SPN content, but I promise the next part will. And so will the part after that and after that and after that and… I think you get the idea. :)

💋 Love always,

Read part 2 here.
