“I never told my children what was my job. I never wanted them to feel shame because of me. When my youngest daughter asked me what I did. I used to tell her hesitantly, I was a labourer. Before I went to home I used to take bathe in public toilet so they did not get any hint of the work I was doing. I wanted my daughters to send to school, to educate them. I wanted them to stand with dignity in front of people. I never wanted anyone look down at them like everyone looked down at me. People always humiliated me. I invested every penny of my earning for my daughters’ education. I never bought a new shirt, used the money instead for buying books for them. Respect, which is all I wanted them to earn for me. I was a cleaner. The day before the last date of my daughter’s college admission, I could not manage to get her admission fees. I could not work that day. I was sitting beside the rubbish, was trying hard to hide my tears. I was unable to work that day. All my coworkers were looking at me but no one came to speak. I was failed, heartbroken and I had no idea how to face my daughter who would ask me about the admission fees once I back to home. I am born poor. Nothing good can happen with a poor person that was my belief. After work all cleaners came to me, sat beside and asked if I considered them as brothers. Before I could answer they handed their one day income in my hand. When I was refusing everyone they confronted by saying, ‘We will starve today if needed but our daughter has to go to college.’ I cannot reply them. That day I did not take shower. That day I went to house like a cleaner. My daughter is going to finish her University very soon. Three of them do not let me to work anymore. She has a part time job and three of them do tuition. But often she took me to my working place. Feed all my coworkers along me. They will laugh and ask her why she feed them so often. My daughter told them, ‘All of you starve for me that day so I can become what I am today, pray for me that I can feed you all, every day.‘ Now a days I do not feel, I am a poor man. Whoever has such children, how he can be poor. ”

Not fake news. Just the facts.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF JOE REPUBLICAN AMERICAN

Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water to prepare his morning coffee. The water is clean and good because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards. With his first swallow of coffee, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought to insure their safety and that they work as advertised. All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer’s medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance - now Joe gets it too.

He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Joe’s bacon is safe to eat because some girly-man liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry. In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labeled with each ingredient and its amount in the total contents because some crybaby liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained.

Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some environmentalist wacko liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our air. He walks to the subway station for his government-subsidized ride to work. It saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees because some fancy-pants liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.

Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some lazy liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe’s employer pays these standards because Joe’s employer doesn’t want his employees to call the union.

If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed, he’ll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some stupid liberal didn’t think he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune.

It’s noontime and Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe’s deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some godless liberal wanted to protect Joe’s money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Great Depression. Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and his below-market federal student loan because some elitist liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his lifetime.

Joe is home from work. He plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive. His car is among the safest in the world because some America-hating liberal fought for car safety standards. He arrives at his boyhood home. His was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers’ Home Administration because bankers didn’t want to make rural loans. The house didn’t have electricity until some big-government liberal stuck his nose where it didn’t belong and demanded rural electrification.
He is happy to see his father, who is now retired. His father lives on Social Security and a union pension because some wine-drinking, cheese-eating liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn’t have to.

Joe gets back in his car for the ride home, and turns on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn’t mention that the beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day.

Joe agrees: “We don’t need those big-government liberals ruining our lives! After all, I’m a self-made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have.”

Japan forces a harsh choice on children of migrant families
Born in Japan, Gursewak Singh considers himself Japanese. The government doesn't. But it offers children like him a chance to stay - if their parents leave.

Gursewak’s parents, who are Sikhs, fled to Japan from India in the 1990s. For several years, they lived without visas under the radar of the authorities until they were put on a status known as “provisional release” in 2001. It means they can stay in Japan as long as their asylum application is under review.

Asylum seekers are building Japan’s roads and sewers
But it also means they can’t work, they don’t have health insurance and they need permission to travel outside the prefecture where they live. They are also subject to unannounced inspections by immigration officers at their home and they face detention at any time. There are currently some 4,700 people with this status living in Japan.

Gursewak, who has never left Japan, has inherited his parents’ provisional release status and all the restrictions that go with it. That fate has exposed him and more than 500 other children who share his predicament to lives of perpetual uncertainty. They can go to government-run schools, where tuition is largely free, but university is out of reach for most because they and their parents aren’t allowed to work and so can’t afford the fees. These children, many of whom are asylum seekers, will soon face a stark choice between forced unemployment and working illegally.

“Since I was born I’ve only ever interacted with Japanese people,” said Gursewak, who is now 17, speaks the language with native fluency and considers himself Japanese. “I don’t get why Japan won’t accept me.”

While there were almost 14,000 asylum cases under review at the end of 2015, Japan accepted only 27 refugees last year. The year before that, the number was 11.

I never told my children what was my job. I never wanted them to feel shame because of me. When my youngest daughter asked me what I did. I used to tell her hesitantly, I was a labourer. Before I went to home I used to take bathe in public toilet so they did not get any hint of the work I was doing. I wanted my daughters to send to school, to educate them. f-van-lieshout  asked:

Hey Wayfaring! I wanted to ask, how come doctors earn so much money if healthcare is so cheap? It is like this where I live, not sure about the US but it mustn't be that different right? I'm just curious. Greetings from the Netherlands

I don’t know how the healthcare system in the Netherlands works AT ALL, but let’s get one thing straight about the US: healthcare is NOT cheap here.

AMERICAN HEALTHCARE SYSTEM 101:

  • Healthcare in the US is more expensive than anywhere else in the world
  • We believe the lie that we have the best healthcare in the world. Our rates of obesity, premature birth, maternal/fetal mortality, and life expectancy all point to the fact that we are way behind other developed nations.
  • College and graduate medical education in the US is more expensive than anywhere else in the world.
  • Salaries are high because costs are high, but cost of education is rapidly rising and wages are not keeping up.
  • Physicians in the US have one of the best paying jobs in the country.
  • Only about 20% of the money spent on healthcare in the US goes toward physician salaries
  • We have way more specialists than we need and we have way less primary care doctors than we need.
  • We have approximately 2.5 doctors per 1000 people in this country, which is way under what we need. Numbers for nurses are similarly low.
  • Healthcare in the US is treated as a business rather than a service. Thus patients are seen as customers and healthcare is becoming more about patient satisfaction rather than delivering quality care.
  • Doctors’ salaries are often based on how many patients they see or how many procedures they do.
  • Though doctors do make a lot of money, remember that they also pay a ton out of that salary in taxes, student loan payments, professional fees, and licensing requirements.
  • Doctors work hours unlike most other careers and are not paid on the basis of their time. Most other jobs have limited hours and lengths of shifts, whereas doctors routinely work 60-80+ hours a week (yes, even past residency).
  • Reimbursement for services is a very complicated system in the US. It’s based on how complex the care is that’s being given, and procedures are valued higher than chronic illness management. Doctors/hospitals can theoretically charge whatever they want for their services, but how much money they actually get is based on what the insurance companies and Medicaid and Medicare are willing to pay.

I really, really hate how some people act like you’re not a “real” Batman fan unless you read comics because they don’t take into account that

  • not everyone can afford to buy comics
  • it can be difficult to even find comics in certain areas unless you purchase them online and pay a hefty shipping fee
  • work/school schedules don’t always allow for free time to spend reading
  • certain disabilities can make reading challenging and non-enjoyable

Just like how nobody has the right to make you feel bad for picking up a comic book, no one has the right to make you feel bad for not reading them. It doesn’t matter if you got into the Batman universe through television shows, movies, video games, or books–you don’t need to live up to another person’s standards to call yourself a fan. Enjoying Batman’s world is supposed to be a fun hobby, not a competition. <3

Hello! I'm not sure how much you know about the 1848-50 California gold rush, but as a native Californian, I've always been fascinated by the topic. My question is multifaceted. For one: how big would miners plots of land along the various rivers be, and would people actually live on the same plots that they mined for gold? Also, what would it be like for a young woman and/or young men and children in an area like this?

Hello there! Well, aren’t you in luck because we have the Archivist from @scriptlibrarian answering this one! The Archivist has also studied history and has got your back so just read on!

There is gold in them darn hills!

Quick history of the California Gold Rush.  In 1848, John Marshal found flecks of gold in the American River, just below the Sierra Nevadas, in Coloma California, while building a water powered sawmill for John Sutter.

Just days after he discovered the gold, the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed, ending the Mexican-American War, giving California to the United States and essentially the gold.

The discovery of Gold shaped California into the state is today.  California saw the largest migration influx in the history of the United States.  In 1848 there was roughly 157,000 people in California (150,000 Natives, 6,500 Spanish/Mexican, 700 American/Non-Native).  Within 20 months the Non-Native Population soared to 100,000 and by the mid 1850’s was past 300,000.  This massive population influx put California on fast track to Statehood, and with the Compromise of 1850 California was allowed into the Union, just two years after the land was acquired, as a Free State - leading a imbalance in Free vs Slave States.

So now that we got background history established let’s look at your questions.

How big would miner’s plots of land along the various rivers be…

I admit, I dug around for this information and beyond going into deep dark storage and digging out (pun intended) my books from school … the best answer I could find is - depends.

Yeah I hate that also.

A miner would first have to  Staking a Claim, which involves first the discovery of a valuable mineral in quantities that a “prudent man” would invest time and expenses to recover them. Then mark the claim boundaries, with wooden posts, capped steel posts, both of which must be four feet tall, or stone cairns, which must be three feet tall. Then filing a claim with the land management agency (USFS or BLM), and the local county registrar.

There are four types of Land Claims, a miner could make:

  • Placer (minerals free of the local bedrock, and deposited in benches or streams) - This would be your typical visual of Gold Miners.  Bent over a stream with a pan, looking for flexs or small nuggets of gold.
  • Lode (minerals in place in the mother rock) - next stage up.  The Miner has a section off shoot of the river, and is breaking up the rocks looking for veins of gold.
  • Tunnel (a location for a proposed tunnel which claims all veins discovered during the driving of it) - This would be someone with enough capital to start mining operation looking for gold, and could hire workers.
  • Millsite (a maximum five acre site for processing ore) - This is a full on organization, that is mining not just gold, but other minerals as well.  Has a team of miners, and likely a full town surrounding it to supplement the miners.

So if your character would need to find the gold, stake out his claim, then register it.  Depending on how much gold found, expense to work the land, and fees for the register - would determine the size of his land claim.

Would your character live in the same spot as they mine?

Yes, they would have a camp with a tent and supplies near by, so they could work their claim dawn to dusk.  They did this for a variety of reasons:

Ease of access to the claim.  The last thing anyone wanted to do was hike in and out of the area, wasting precious time traveling when they could be mining.

Protecting their assets.  If they are away from their claim, someone could sneak in and mine the area, or re stake the claim stating it was abandoned.

Also, what would it be like for a young woman and/or young men and children in an area like this?

The Gold Rush was not really a place for children. It was a brutal work, and a very lonely existence.  Many men left their families behind in hopes of making it rich to bring back the gold to them.

That doesn’t mean that there wasn’t women in the camps.

At one point there was a call out to women to go to California, because there was a fear men would do ‘untold’ things without the calm and stable influence of a woman (not many headed the call).

There were wives that worked the claims with their husbands, and likely even a few who took over the claim after he died.  Though this was dangerous as she would be on her own, and had very little rights to the land.

Most of the women seen in or around the camps were washers, cooks, those seeking out a living for their family.  These women came with their husbands, fathers, brothers and ended up making the money for the family to survive, while the men panned for gold.

By the 1850’s there were roughly 1000 women working in and around the mines, but they were still a small part of the population, and  by the 1860’s they were less than 19% of the population of California.

A good resource to look into the role women played in the Gold Rush would be They Saw the Elephant: Woman in the Gold Rush by JoAnn Levy.

Now as for young men, it would depend on what you mean by young men?

There were many teenage boys out in the fields, either they came with their father or ran away from home. The Gold Rush was an opportunity to make it rich fast, and men from all walks of life, old and young found their way to California.

Children were less likely in the mines or panning for gold.  If the whole family was in the gold fields, the younger kids would be with mom, helping with cooking, washing, etc.  Older boys maybe 12ish would be with dad.  There are not many accounts, but it didn’t mean they weren’t there.

William Tecumseh Sherman - the future Civil War General, worked in San Francisco during the Gold Rush as a banker, and had his two young sons with him during the time, while his wife and daughter stayed back East.  Now this was in the city and not the gold fields.  Women, kids and families were very common in San Francisco.

In contrast Ulysses S. Grant was in the Army at the time, stationed in the gold fields and had left his family behind.  This also led to him being discharged from the Army, because of his drinking problem, as he had never done well being away from his wife, Julia.

Irony both men would come together a decade later, a friendship that some say changed the world.  But that is another essay.

Some interesting facts about the Gold Rush that could be helpful.

  • The Gold Rush attracted immigrants from around the world, by 1850 more than 25 percent of California’s population had been born outside the United States. As the amount of available gold began to dwindle, miners increasingly fought one another for profits and anti-immigrant tensions soared. In 1850 California’s legislature passed a Foreign Miner’s tax, which levied a monthly fee of $20 on non-citizens, the equivalent of more than $500 in today’s money. That bill was eventually repealed, but was replaced with another in 1852 that expressly singled out Chinese miners, charging them $2 ($80 today) a month. Violence against foreign miners increased as well, and beatings, rapes and even murders became commonplace. However no ethnic group suffered more than California’s Native Americans. Before the Gold Rush, its native population numbered roughly 300,000. Within 20 years, more than 100,000 would be dead. Most died from disease or mining-related accidents, but more than 4,000 were murdered by enraged miners.
  • Early sections of San Francisco were built out of ships abandoned by prospectors. The Gold Rush conjures up images of thousands of “’49ers” heading west in wagons to strike it rich in California, but many of the first prospectors actually arrived by ship. Within months, San Francisco’s port was teeming with boats that had been abandoned after their passengers, and crew headed inland to hunt for gold. As the formerly tiny town began to boom, demand for lumber increased dramatically, and the ships were dismantled and sold as construction material. Hundreds of houses, banks, saloons, hotels, jails and other structures were built out of the abandoned ships, while others were used as landfill. Today, more than 150 years after the Gold Rush began, archeologists and preservations continue to find relics, sometimes even entire ships, beneath the streets of the City by the Bay.  Map of where ships can be found in San Francisco
  • Mining wasn’t cheap! Most of the men who flocked to northern California arrived with little more than the clothes on their backs. Once there, they needed to buy food and supplies, which San Francisco’s merchants were all too willing to provide for a cost. Stuck in a remote region, far from home, many prospectors coughed up most of their hard-earned money for the most basic supplies. At the height of the boom in 1849, prospectors could expect prices sure to cause sticker shock: A single egg could cost the equivalent of $25 in today’s money, coffee went for more than $100 per pound and replacing a pair of worn out boots could set you back more than $2,500.
  • The merchant’s made the money not the miners.  As the boom continued, more and more men got out of the gold-hunting business and began to open businesses catering to newly arrived prospectors. In fact, some of America’s greatest industrialists got their start in the Gold Rush. Philip Armour, who would later found a meatpacking empire in Chicago, made a fortune operating the sluices that controlled the flow of water into the rivers being mined. Before John Studebaker built one of America’s great automobile fortunes, he manufactured wheelbarrows for Gold Rush miners. And two entrepreneurial bankers named Henry Wells and William Fargo moved west to open an office in San Francisco, an enterprise that soon grew to become one of America’s premier banking institutions. One of the biggest mercantile success stories was that of Levi Strauss. A German-born tailor, Strauss arrived in San Francisco in 1850 with plans to open a store selling canvas tarps and wagon coverings to the miners. After hearing that sturdy work pants, ones that could withstand the punishing 16-hour days regularly put in by miners, were more in demand, he shifted gears, opening a store in downtown San Francisco that would eventually become a manufacturing empire, producing Levi’s denim jeans.
  • And to prove how fate is fickle - the man who’s name will always be associated with the California Gold Rush - John Sutter - died in poverty.  As news had spread about the discovery of gold on his property, within months, most of his workers had abandoned him to search for gold themselves, while thousands of other prospectors overran and destroyed much of his land and equipment. Faced with mounting debts, Sutter was forced to deed his land to one of his sons, who used it to create a new settlement called Sacramento. Sutter Sr. was furious—he had hoped the town would be named after him—but he had more pressing concerns. Nearly bankrupt, he began a decades-long campaign to have the U.S. government reimburse him for his financial losses, to no avail. While thousands became rich off his former land, a bitter Sutter retired to Pennsylvania and died.

I hope this information is helpful, and will give you some insight of the world during the California Gold Rush.

If you’re fortunate to have the means to afford a schoolmaster type horse that can take you up the levels, please be aware of the fact that no matter how much “hard work” someone with less finances puts in, they simply won’t have the opportunity to progress in the manner that more privileged riders do if they cannot afford the price tag or lease costs associated with proven show horses and that’s without actually taking the cost of entry fees into account. Hard work doesn’t necessarily get you showing at places like WEF, money does.

Song rec: Love In Color - Taeyeon

Pt. 1 | Pt. 2 | Pt. 3 | Pt.4 | Pt. 5

You truly felt like an outcast in this expensive, European restaurant located in the middle of the Gangnam era, chewing on some expensive ass piece of meat – so expensive that you would be able to buy yourself ten McDonalds menus, the kind of restaurant that was more of your level. As you chewed on the expensive, but immensely delicious, piece of meat, you scanned your surroundings once more. The fellow customers looked like people who were at Jimin’s level – rich, good-looking and tremendous – the kind of person you never would be.

“Relax a bit, will you? You’re really tense at the moment.”

Jimin’s honeydew-like voice caused you to jump in your seat slightly, as a light shade of red rose to your cheeks, a bit embarrassed at the fact that Jimin probably noticed you being an awkward mess. If he indeed noticed this, he did not say anything about it, knowing that it would make the situation even more awkward – and you silently thanked him for not remarking it.

“I wish I could, but this place makes me a little bit conscious about myself you know,” you deadpanned, eying Jimin with an emotionless expression as you kept munching on your food. You must have looked ridiculous, because a second later, your CEO was laughing wholeheartedly at you. If the person laughing at you was not Park Jimin, you’d probably throw a fork at him in irritation.

“Don’t worry about that, Y/N. That dress makes you look as elegant as the other women in here,” Jimin complimented you, before taking a small sip of his wine – his eyes still glued on yours. You almost choked in your meat as you heard this unusual compliment, and you could stop yourself from coughing out loud in time. You then looked down at your dress briefly, quirking up an eyebrow as you thought of Jimin’s compliment while seeing how tight the dress was on you.

“Are you sure about that? I don’t think elegant is the right way to describe my look,” you said mockingly, stabbing the fork into the piece of meat, but you quickly stopped it after realizing how expensive this piece of meat actually was.

“Maybe I used the wrong words.” With that, Jimin put down his glass of wine, before eying you with a mischievous glint in his eyes. You could not help but just blink at him, wondering what he was about to say next, as you put down your fork as well.

“It’s not the dress that makes you look elegant. It’s you yourself that makes you look elegant. Maybe it’s just me, or this crazy attraction that I feel towards you every time I lay my eyes on you – but in my eyes, you always look elegant. Yeah, it’s not the dress. It’s you.”

Gangsters in Love: Honest Trailer

I really love watching Honest Trailers on YouTube so I thought what if I made a series of Honest Trailers for Voltage Games…?

(The following is for humorous purposes only! Enjoy!)

Narrator: From the money hungry company that brought you Astoria Fates Kiss and Castaway Loves Adventure, comes another game about love that will cost you half of your entire paycheck you worked so hard to earn for your rent, school fees, or better yet, Japanese Voltage games where you can spent up to 4$ plus tax for 13 chapters instead of spending 9$ total plus tax for 6 separate chapters for ONE story arc…

Aurora: “It’s all just business.😉"

Narrator: Gangsters in Love!

(Beat)

Meet the MC!

An MC that made the Voltage fandom jump for joy only because she’s a blonde but is also frowned upon because she’s a 23 year old woman that dresses like a 5 year going to Sunday school.

MC: “There’s nothing wrong with my clothes!😠"

Irving: “Except for the fact that you dress like a middle schooler.😒"

Narrator: Her boring life in Southern California quickly changes when she is attacked by gangsters, and rescued by…gangsters?

Chance: “We’re offering you protection.😑"

Narrator: The MCs parents are revealed to be wanted criminals that managed to piss off all of California who finally decide to go to the MCs house at last minute instead of kidnapping the parents and killing them then.

The Valentine Gang infiltrates the MCs home and takes her away in hope to get info from her parents even though they know the MC makes it clear that she knows nothing, with the MC clearly going along with them because these gangsters are…hot!

MC: “They’re dangerous…but…😍"

Narrator: Man, they really made this MC a thirsty bimbo in this franchise. Way to go America!😒

(Beat)

Narrator: MC first meets Chance Valentine: an all American, Eisuke Ichinomiya who broke away from his fathers gang, acts like a cold hearted prick, and thinks he’s cool because he owns a bike and is the boss.

Chance: “Oh who cares…I’m the boss.😏"

Narrator: But is really a cello playing dork, who is so rich, yet can’t even buy his own house without mooching off his rich black friend.

Chance: “It’s my house!😠”

Irving: “Since WHEN? It’s MY house!😡”

(Beat)

Narrator: Yoshimitsu Valentine!

Narrator: Chance’s happy go lucky hot, Japanese older step brother who’s hair will instantly remind you of the chili pepper emoji or the hair tip of a chicken.

He’s a yakuza who never kills anyone with his katana.

Yoshimitsu: “I’m not killing you. It would be a waste of my sword.😒”

Narrator: And became the WORST leader no one but Chance asks for in season 2 out of pity for his brother.

Chance: “It seemed like a good idea at the time…😔”

Narrator: And who was seemingly popular enough to be the thumbnail of the app instead of the first main love interest himself.

Yoshimitsu: “Isn’t this an exciting way to end the party?😆”

Narrator: He’s a fuckboy who frequently fucks the MC in his route even though he tells her they are not official.

Yoshimitsu: “This–mm–doesn’t mean we’re together.😌”

MC: “I didn’t say anything about that. How about we just have a good time?😉"

Narrator: Man is this MC thirsty! But at least she’s more confident than her Japanese counterparts!😒

(Beat)

Ash Winters!

The mysterious badass hitman who would have been a better character in Metal Gear Solid, GTA V, or even Assassins Creed, with his expert skills in weaponry, stealth, and arson, instead of a romance option in some cheesy, girly, young woman’s romance sim.

WELL, that’s a lot better than a cool character like him becoming a sissy singer like Bieber!

Ash: “I was once scouted to be a K Pop idol.😁"

Narrator: Scandal in the Spotlight, anyone?🎤

(Beat)

Irving Monroe!

A celebrity lawyer and frequent guest on Ellen who is as sensitive as Wyatt from 6teen as he cries over puppy movies.

Yoshimitsu: “Are you…crying?😧”

Irving: *Sniffling* “What? No way man…😭”

Narrator: And even though he is called the ‘CHARISMATIC Justice’, he isn’t popular enough to be featured in any of the Amemix crossovers for OBVIOUS reasons!👦🏿

Aurora: “C'mon, this is Irving we’re talking about! 😏”

Irving:😠

(Beat)

Narrator: Aurora James,

The Gang’s sexiest, kickass lesbian hustler, and the reason for the games existence and occurrences. She’s a combination of Nami from One Piece with her love for money and Cana from Fairy Tail with her love for liquor and your stereotypical queer Latina all rolled into one.

And is determined to sleep with every woman in LA and their mother!

Aurora: “Oh another time I went home with this girl, but the next day I realized that I actually slept with her mo-😆”

Yoshimitsu: “TMI RORY! T.M.I.!😳”

(Beat)

Narrator: And Mateo Estrada!

A dirty old fed and the 6th brand new love interest introduced in the gang, as well as being a disappointment to all lesbians and bisexuals playing this game who all begged Voltage for Skylar to have her own route because they loved her ass.

Skylar: “Yeah I know you love my ass! 😏”

(Beat)

Narrator: Just like every other Voltage game since 1999, you are forced to choose who you date, have sex with, and eventually marry and have kids with.

You’ll live your days running from the cops, getting in car chases, playing poker, appearing on Ellen, negotiating with yakuza, fighting your own parents, almost getting killed but not getting kidnapped as much as the Japanese MC, actually FENDING for yourself comparing to the Japanese MC who thinks closing her eyes when her life is being threatened will make everything better.

All this while the thirsty, gold digging MC who turns out to have had no job or no friends prior to being kidnapped is able to seduce the pants off of any of the 6 gangsters and spends countless times with them fucking in almost EVERY chapter at inappropriate times!

MC: “I’m pregnant? How is this even possible? We’ve always been super careful! 😰”

Narrator: Yeah, I doubt it you used a condom when you was looking forward to that D, you hoe…😒

(Cue Aurora’s sexy CG) …Oh! Or…that V! Cause’ y'know…lesbian option…? And…yeah you get the idea…😅

(Beat)

STARRING:

“Not my Valentine!”(Chance)💔

“Human Shinra!”(Yoshimitsu)👹

“Black Phoenix Wright!”(Irving)☝🏿

“Ash Catch Em!”(Ash)🔫

“CASH Me Outside Drinking, How Bout Dat?!”(Aurora)🍷

“Mark Jefferson!”(Mateo)👓

“Kylie Jenner!”(Skylar)👄

“Bastard Valentine!”(Franco)👨🏻

“1 of 101 Dalmatians!”(Seymour)🐶

AND

“I’m a Barbie Girl, in a Gangster Worrrld!”(MC)💁🏼

“GTA 6: Barbie Joins a Gang!”

Narrator: Okay seriously! If Skylar doesn’t get her own route in 2017, I’m starting my own gang so we can go to California and confront Voltage Amemix ourselves adding an old man in his mid thirties and not some bad chick who’s hot as hell is absolute bullshit!

Can I have a bitter tony post cacw who decides to be a little petty and passive aggressive by cutting the avengers off but also being unfailingly "polite" when he interacts w them? I know passive isnt his style but thats the point bc no one expects it and no one really knows how to handle it bc tony is a master at this type of interpersonal game when its not w his family/friends & the avengers stopped being in that category after Siberia. And they look awful to the press bc tony is being SO NICE

The Avengers touch down on American Soil again on a rainy Thursday afternoon. Tony Stark is standing with the accords assigned delegate, the poor woman, at the end of the runway.

“Hello, my name is Jessica.” She says in greeting, holding out a hand. Steve shakes it easily, smiling. “I am a delegate for the UN Accords committee here to oversee your reading and signing of the Accords.” She explains, Steve’s smile drops.

“A pleasure to see you again Steve.” Tony smiles broadly at him, holding out a hand to shake before Steve can attempt to hug him or something. Steve shakes his hand amicably.

“We’ve been looking forward to returning to the compound.” Steve says, gesturing to everyone. Tony projects apologetic discomfort.

“I’m sorry, nobody told you?” Tony asks, and Steve balks.

“Told us what?” Clint demands, pushing past Jessica to stand beside Steve.

“The compound was opened last month as a school for enhanced individuals.” Tony explains, tilting his head down to look apologetic. “It’s no longer a base of operations for any active operatives.” Clint looks outraged at this news, and Steve seems similarly upset. “You have to understand, I had no idea you would be coming back.” Tony explains.

“That was our home Stark.” Wanda says, and the others nod their disapproval. Jessica nearly snorts at how apologetic Dr. Stark looks.

“I understand, and I am truly sorry, but you’ll have to find your own places now.” He explains sparking more outrage. Jessica raises an eyebrow at them as they demand Dr. Stark pay for their housing.

“Under the Accords it is a conflict of interest for any one team member to be responsible for funding the others.” Jessica explains, shutting down any further arguments. “The UN will compensate you for time spent in the field or training, which can be done at the UN training facility for mutants in DC.”

“Of course.” Steve says, and an uneasy feeling settles in the pit of her stomach. The anger from before is gone, replaced with a smiling easy going Steve Rogers.

Being the delegate for the ex-Avengers is a nightmare, and Jessica hates everyone involved in giving her this position. Steve Rogers still doesn’t know how to shut up and act like an adult, and the whole group seems to think Dr. call-me-Tony Stark personally wrote the accords. Still after a month and a half of hammering the Accords into their heads a few of them have managed to reach active status.

Rogers squeaked by on his psych eval, but passed the physical with flying colors. Sam managed to pass both easily. Wanda failed her psych eval, and the control test for her powers. Scott has elected to work separately from the Avengers, and Jessica doesn’t blame him at all. Barnes is still working to get the code words out of his head. Things are finally looking up for Jessica. Then the PR nightmare that is Steve Rogers ends up in front of Tony Stark, and a camera at the end of an Avengers battle.

“What did you do to Clint’s arrows?” Steve demands, Tony pulls of the Iron Man mask looking absolutely lost.

“Nothing, I have no involvement in the making of your weapons, it’s against Accords policy.” Tony explains. Steve steps closer throwing his imposing stature in Tony’s face.

“Clint said the draw time was slower, the quiver isn’t as quick, and the tips aren’t switchable. What did you do?” Steve demands, and Tony takes a step back clearly uncomfortable.

“That is what the government can afford to make to arm him I guess.” Tony says, looking apologetic. “I do not touch any of your weapons, and all Stark Industries property was repossessed while you were away. Frankly, I am not permitted to work on weapons for you guys, the UN can’t afford my consulting fee.” Tony explains.

“We almost died over your consulting fee!” Clint screams, storming up to him bow in hand. Jessica groans at the sight of PR nightmare number two.

“Sorry, thousands of police officers body armor is higher on my list of priorities than making you free weapons that only you will use.” Tony says. “I would love to help, but my time is better spent protecting the hard working police officers. Not to mention the time spent on prosthesis since Germany. I need to focus on the bigger picture, helping as many people as I can. I’m sure you understand.” Tony says, and then the face plate snaps shut and he takes off. The video goes viral, and Jessica nearly faints from relief when the UN appoints a full PR team to work with the Avengers, and allows her to manage the X-men instead.

It was little things you had noticed at first.  When you would be talking with Fili, Kili would walk up and there was a shift in his behavior.  Fili would suddenly tense up, giving a look to Kili, almost in warning before he would get up and move away.  It was as if they were arguing about something, but you weren’t sure.  So you decided to confront him about it.

You waited until after dinner, going to his room, knocking lightly as you waited for him to answer.

“Y/n!  What do I owe this pleasure?”  Fili was quick to ask with a big smile on his face.
