Sir Nicholas Winton is a humanitarian who organized a rescue operation that saved the lives of 669 Jewish Czechoslovakia children from Nazi death camps, and brought them to the safety of Great Britain between the years 1938-1939.

After the war, his efforts remained unknown. But in 1988, Winton’s wife Grete found the scrapbook from 1939 with the complete list of children’s names and photos. Sir Nicholas Winton is sitting in an audience of Jewish Czechoslovakian people who he saved 50 years before.

Can we talk about something real quick?!

In this scene from the newest short, I could only imagine how angry Winston would have been after seeing his friend (I argue best friend) disappear. Like I don’t really see people mention how good (best) friends Winston and Tracer are!

-Winston makes Tracers chronal accelerator and in her words “But my friend Winston would not give up, he kept at it, day and night.” Essentially giving Tracer control of her powers. Also, he is present her during her training.

- On Winston’s computer, Tracers and his photo sit on top of all the others, including one of Dr. Winston (essentially his dad) and Winston as a baby!

- During the recall, Tracer is the first to answer Winstons call.

-During the first short Winston and Tracer are fighting alongside each other.

- They spend Christmas with each other gosh darn it!

AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF! Winton FUCKING ONE PUNCHES Doomfist after seeing his (best) friend disappear! BFFs.

The 10 Things Dally has never told anyone…

1. He wishes that his parent’s loved him like parents were supposed to love their children.
2. His mother cared about drugs more than she ever cared about him.
3. Dally knows that if there is a Hell, he has a first class ticket there… and he is okay with that.
4. When Dally met the gang, Mrs Curtis would treat him like her own son, it was the first time he had felt what love was truly like. The night she died he cried, he sobbed his heart out until he fell asleep. He still hasn’t gotten over her loss.
5. He doesn’t “make love” he fucks until he cannot feel a thing… he doesn’t know how to love someone, and his not quite sure that he ever will.
6.The only person he has ever truly cared about is Johnny, but God, he just didn’t know how to love the kid.
7. He prays every single night before he goes to bed, hoping that God hasn’t lost faith in him yet. His prayers always go unanswered.
8. He was in his first real gang at the age of 10, at age 12 he watched his best friend get shot in the stomach, he held his friend in his arms until the police arrived. He was carted away to juvenile detention.
9. His first night in Juvie was the hardest. He cried the whole time.
10. It turns out he loved Johnny. And he couldn’t stand to live in a world where an innocence like that was stolen. So he decided to die too.

The Worst Kind of Crush - Dally Winston Imagine

A/N: Enjoy! I have two more writing posts to do this week and I’m pretty excited about both of them :) Anyone can always feel free to send in an imagine, preference or headcanon request! I don’t do smut or Character x Character writing for anyone wondering

Word Count: 658

Warnings: None

Pairing: Dally Winston x Reader

Since befriending Steve Randle last year, I’ve adored Dally Winston. His blond hair, cold blue eyes and tough personality for some reason drew me in almost immediately. I’ve been warned about him, but I just can’t help that I’m into him. Just being around him makes me blush and freeze up.

Today is no exception. We’re all at the Curtis house and I’m reading while the boys throw around a football. It’s not that I can’t play or that I don’t like it, but when I play at the same time as Dally, I tend to make a fool out of myself. So, I sit and watch the boys run around with their shirts hanging out of their jeans pockets. It’s killing me to watch Dallas; for someone who smokes and drinks almost religiously, he’s in good shape. I wonder for a moment if he works out when he’s in jail.

“Y/N! Doll? Pass us back the ball?” I blink and snap out of my thoughts the moment I realize that Dally is saying my name.

“What?” My cheeks flush and I curse myself silently for not paying attention.

“You were staring. Are you okay?”

Steve takes a moment to stop flexing for a girl who was passing by to holler, “She was checking you out!”

“I’m fine,” I answer Dal, shooting a nasty glare in Steve’s direction.

Dally smirks a little and sits down beside me. “Is Stevie-Boy right?”

“Well… I mean…” In an attempt to find the right ting to say, the word “yes” somehow makes its way out of my stupid mouth.

“You’re into me, huh?”

I swear to God, I’ve never wanted to crawl into a hole so badly. “Just because I looked doesn’t mean I’m into ya.” I’m desperately trying to explain myself and that stupid blonde’s smirk just keeps growing.

“You’re blushing an awful lot, doll.”

I could slap him. Or kiss him. Or both. “I hate you,” I sigh.

“Nah. I think you want me, or at least like me.”

“Give me one good reason that would make you think that. Me blushing doesn’t count.”

Dally licks his lips, which are chapped from sun exposure, and scoots closer to me. “Your pupils are dilated even though we’re in the sun, and I think that’s a sign of attraction.” He grabs my wrist and finds my pulse quickly. “Quick heart rate and I know you said not to mention it, you’re blushing. Also, your excuses are really dumb. I know girls, doll. Pretty well.”

Pulling my wrist away from his warm hand, I sigh. “Fine, okay. I like you.”

“Why do you sound so upset about liking me?”

“You’re kidding me, right?” I squint at him. He has to know.

“Please, enlighten me.”

“You’re the worst person for me to like! You don’t like me back, and even if you did, you’d only want me for one night.” Looking down at the concrete sidewalk, I grow more and more frustrated with myself for even looking his way.

“Y/N, what makes you think I don’t like ya?”

“I don’t know. I’m just not like the girls you usually go out with.”

“That ain’t a bad thing. I mean, I’m not really itchin’ to date another Sylvia, and let’s face it, she’s the only kinda girl I’ve ever really dated. Maybe I want something new.” Sighing, he puts his hand on my knee. “How about you give me a chance. I’ll take ya out to a movie or somethin’.”

I nod and lift my eyes to meet his. “I’d like that.”

“I hope it goes well.” Dally smiles a small, but real, smile. “I’d like for you to be my girl.”

NHLers who have spoken out against the violence in Charlottesville

Because everything sucks, and it’s good to know that at least a few of them have cleared this incredibly low bar.  This may not be everyone who tweeted about this, and I didn’t check other social media at all, so please tell me if you know of anyone else!

HUFFLEPUFF: “When it came down to it, Honor Alexander-Harrington’s granite determination was even more merciless than her own famed temper. Colder and less outwardly expressive, perhaps, and definitely slower to awaken, yet that made it only more deadly in the end.” –David Weber (Elizabeth Winton III: Mission of Honor)

Gemma Observatory by Anmahian Winton Architects

The top of this faceted private observatory in central New Hampshire, by Anmahian Winton Architects, rotates to provide different views of the night sky. The Gemma Observatory sits on a remote peak in the northeastern state, at the centre of a “dark” zone with a three-mile radius. Unobstructed by light pollution, the setting is ideal for astronomical observation.

Unlike typically domed observatories, the building has an angular form designed to echo its jagged granite surroundings. Lock-seamed zinc used to clad its exterior references the hues of the rocky landscape.  "[The building’s] dimension, colour, and patina evoke a material relationship to the grey granite outcroppings,“ said Anmahian Winton Architects, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
