will this even get any notes

like, my legit best advice for you guys as a writer:

do it for yourself. in some ways, i’m a hypocrite for saying that because i enjoy the attention i get on occasion and the influxes of requests. and many times, i adhere my self-worth to notes, which was something i stubbornly refused to acknowledge.

whether you’re posting on a public forum for original fiction, or even one sites like tumblr for fan-fiction, be sure to drill into your skull that

your skill as a writer and the number of notes do not necessarily correlate. absolutely do not adhere your self-worth to notes as i have, because it’s at a point where when i drop below an expected amount, it will bring down my entire mood.

that isn’t healthy, folks.

it’s fine to want your work acknowledged and admired; any writer would want that. but, before you post for other people (or at least get in your head in the process of posting for others) that some stories are going to bomb hard.

some stories are going to do great.

some stories will be “meh”.

that’s life. it happens.

but, for your sake as a writer; to grow and expand, try your best to work hard for yourself and to be your own cheerleader.

because some fics will gain you an audience cheering for you, while others you’ll be lucky to have a few. the feeling is unfortunate, and it’s hurtful and can make your confidence plummet

you’re strong enough, tho’. i believe in you!!

Hey guys! Hope you’re all doing well. Just wanted to leave a small note saying that I’ll be going on holiday tomorrow and will be gone for all of next week. So, there won’t be any new fics posted next week. But of course, the request box is always open for any of you who want to send something in, and if you do happen to send any messages to me, then please don’t worry for the lack of response, I shall reply when I get back…or if I manage to hog someone else’s wifi hehe. Might even work on some of those existing requests on my long plane journey, cause I got a ton. Anywho, enough of my blabbering… I hope you guys have an awesome week to come, and see you all soon! :’)

they say our deepest insecurities manifest in our dreams and last night i dreamt about making a post that said “even i would cum inside george harrison” and not getting any notes on it

Back to School/Uni Tips!

I’m headed into my 3rd year of uni, so I thought I’d make a post sharing my tips on how to do well in school, not burn out, and keep your mental health relatively stable.

1. Snacks - seriously, don’t leave home without at least 2 substantial snacks in your bag. If you’re go-go-going all day and suddenly your sitting in a lecture about to crash cause you haven’t eaten anything all day, you’re gonna want snacks. Some suggestions: Cashews (they’re not super loud/crunchy, so they’re perfect for lecture snackin’), a granola bar, an apple, cherry tomatoes, trail mix.

2. Don’t buy the textbook before you go to your first class - I’ve worked at a university bookstore for 2 years, and every year, people end up buying 700$ worth of first year text books, and then they don’t even use them. Wait. and then wait some more. If there are required readings, then get the textbook, if your prof says there will be questions from the textbook on the exam, then get the textbook, but trust me, for 90% of first year classes (and a lot of other ones) you don’t need the textbook. SAVE YOUR WALLETS

3. Take notes efficiently - honestly the best way to take notes, is type up the lecture notes that are provided, BEFOREHAND, and then during lecture, fill in the blanks/add information/take down any important things your prof is saying as you go through the lecture on your laptop in a different color. This way you’re much less likely to miss any important information, you won’t be confused about what to take down, and you won’t fall into the trap of taking down notes that are already being provided to you. After class, or while making study notes, copy these notes out by hand to remember what you learned.

4. Keep it simple - pretty notes are GREAT if you have the time, but once you get to upper level uni, and you have 100 slides of notes to turn into study notes, you will not have the time to make your notes look aesthetically pleasing. Just get the info down so you can focus on learning it.

5. Have a designated study space - i did all of my highschool homework and studying in my bed, and 90% of the time, I ended up falling asleep. My bed wasn’t going to cut it for uni, so I got a cheap ikea desk, and it’s made me so much more organized and productive.

6. Take as much ‘you time’ as possible - take a bath. light candles. binge watch a tv show. veg out with a book for 4 hours if you have the time. do your makeup super special one day. get yourself that venti pumpkin spice latte with extra whip whenever you feel like it. Uni is a shitty time I’m not gonna lie. It’s stressful as f*ck, and whenever you can spare a couple hours or a couple dollars to TREAT YO SELF, do it.

7.  If you have anxiety, CUT THE COFFEE. caffeine is a huge trigger for anxiety. Caffeine takes away from your sleep, messes with your adrenalin systems, and can make you super paranoid and anxious all the time.

8. If you think your in the wrong major, change it - I started in geology, and I HATED IT. Now I’m in psych and I love it. It is never too late for a change of program. If you think you’re doing something you don’t wanna do, or your not enjoying it, don’t do it.

9. For mornings you have to be ready and out the door, or if you’re a person who always runs late, have a getting-ready routine and get it down pat. Have a mental list of things you need to do, and things you need to remember, and find out how much time it takes you. Get up at 8am, shower, wash face/brush teeth, get dressed, do makeup, pack bag, remember keys, wallet, laptop, notebook, pen and train pass, have breakfast, put on shoes, leave by 9am.

10. Utilize your time in transit. - finish a reading, go over flashcards, read study notes, listen to an album you’ve been meaning to listen to, read a book, read some fanfic, idk but don’t just sit there unless just sitting there is what you need.

11. Find a hobby or passion that is separate from your school/uni life. Whether its playing sports, or running, reading, collecting plants, making scrapbooks, curating a refined taste in tea, having baths, writing in a journal, find something that if you’re bored with watching shows or studying, you can go do it, and enjoy it, and get your mind off all the other shit that’s going on in your life for awhile.

1. Have a Positive Mental Attitude- Prime yourself at being always comfortable and confident that u can do a lot better at studying. Remember that you are studying things that will prove to be valuable in real life.

2. Prepare your Work Space- Look for a place in your home or bedroom where u think u can study and maintain concentration in your work. Have materials stocked up and in place before your study. This way, u can finish your work without any interruptions.

3. Avoid Cramming- study an hour a day even when there’s no homework. Scan your notebooks and do a little advanced reading of your textbooks. You can also research through the internet to learn more about the topics u are covering in school.  I suggest google scholar, it’s like google but for students, it has the citations, and filters results so that only helpful outcomes appear.

4. Do projects with more enthusiasm and creativity- Don’t be afraid to think of new ideas or ways to present your homework or projects. Teachers always give additional points to students who show great effort in their works. SO, don’t be afraid to do something original, do something that hasn’t been done before.

5. Raise Your Hand- Be active and establish a friendly attitude towards your teachers. Offer to help them out in checking some work, filing papers or just carrying their things. Little good things add up in the end for that extra effort grade, and they’ll always remember you as a very helpful student.

6. Enjoy Reading the Latest News- Find connections or associations with your life as a student, as a child, as a friend, or as a citizen. Certain reports would always ask for u to react so better be ahead with current events which you may be affected with.

7. Listen to Your Teacher, take a few notes- In my experience, the more i copy and take down notes, the more i get lost in the lecture. It is best to listen first and understand before u jot down any important keywords. Yes, use keywords, simple doodles and arrows to make associations. These will help u remember all concepts mentally.

8. Keep Notes on Index Cards- I use personally use the smaller oxford ones, they are more portable honestly pretty aesthetic..

9. Watch TV Wisely- Yep you heard it, TV, when watching TV I sometimes pick up points which may seem relevant in my life. They sometimes even have something to do with what’s happening in class at the moment so, always initiate conversation about the latest shows and issues you have watched. Don’t be afraid to argue and defend your opinions.

how to survive bad school days, from morning till night

my last year of high school starts rather soon, and i’ve had more than my fair share of days when i wake up wanting to cry. there aren’t many things you can do when obligations like school force you to get over it as soon as it starts, so here are some tips to make your day better.

1. dress opposite the way you feel. even though sweats might be super tempting, dress up. wear your favorite pair of jeans, or a dress, or your cutest sneakers, even. wear bright colors at least. sweatpants and such will just make you feel even more blah and unfocused throughout the day.

2. moisturize! this might seem like an odd idea, but moisturizing and going into school glowy and soft definitely helps me feel more comfortable and less ugh during the school day. it helps keep me in my home-y comfort zone, if that makes sense.

3. carry something from home. this can be a book (even if you don’t read it), a tube of chapstick, a big waterbottle, etc… i have even gone as far as wrapping myself in a small blanket and walking around like that for the day. if you like this option and don’t feel comfortable wearing it, fold it up and place it in your backpack, just so you know it’s there.

4. plan out your day. even if it’s just making a mental note, tell and remind yourself of the things your going to do and when. this will get rid of any unnecessary stress and pressure. if something unexpected comes up, this will also help you manage your time a little better.

5. eat and drink happy things! pick today to pack a lunch, no matter what your usual routine is. drink plenty of water throughout this day, and eat as many fruits and veggies as you can. fill a reusable water bottle with water, fruit (like lemon or strawberries), and chia seeds! it’s perfect to sip throughout the day for a reboot or just to boost your mood.

6. when you get home, bathe immediately! wash off the day’s dirt. drop everything as soon as you get home, and either jump in the shower or relax in a bath with your favorite soaps and scents and a book. give yourself a break before you have to get back to work.

7. don’t ignore your work. by work, i mean school work. if you’re having a bad day, don’t hesitate to take a break from talking to people or running (low-priority) errands. you don’t want to ignore schoolwork, though, because teachers aren’t the most lenient people in the world, and getting it done will take a lot off of your shoulders. pushing it away will only gain you more bad days.

8. go to bed. get sleep! you want to be refreshed and happy for the next day, even if it’s a weekend. there’s a good chance your bad day began because you didn’t get enough sleep, or because you were ripped out of bed. reward yourself with rest after a long day.

Getting a bad teacher is always unfortunate, but you can still learn the material & manage to ace the exams! Even if they don’t teach you anything, they still might have resources you can use, and there are plenty of other ways to take your learning into your own hands.

Get resources from the teacher!

  1. Ask for a textbook to take home. If you don’t have a book or something similar, ask for your own book, an online textbook, or another resource that you can learn from.
  2. Get worksheets and practice problems. Teachers usually have really good resources, even if they aren’t good at what they do. Get relevant worksheets, online recommendations, or other resources.
  3. See if you can get help during free time. Ask your teacher if they have any open hours to get help, or ask specifically if you can go in during your lunch, or before or after school for extra assistance.

Learn from textbooks!

  1. Take very comprehensive notes. If you don’t have a good teacher, you’re going to need to get the material from somewhere, so your notes need to be extremely thorough.
  2. Use supplementary books. A lot of subjects– especially AP classes with standardized exams– have books from publishers like Barron’s, Kaplan, and Princeton Review to help you learn the information.
  3. Make flashcards & extra study tools. Since you don’t have the variety of learning methods you might in a good class, learning in every way you can is even more important to ensure that you do well!

Use online resources!

  1. Check YouTube for instructional videos. If you need to know about it, there’s a fantastic chance that YouTube has it. Standbys include Khan Academy, Bozeman Science, and Crash Course.
  2. Make use of masterposts. If someone has already compiled oodles of resources for you, they’re definitely worth checking out! Plus, if they’re student recommended, there’s a better chance that they’ll be helpful.
  3. Find free questions. Exam boards like the College Board publish questions (and answers!) online, and these are super useful for knowing how well you’re doing.

Ask for extra help!

  1. Talk to older students for tips. If they’ve been through the class before, they usually know what the teacher is missing out and also how to do well.
  2. See if your school has a tutoring programme. Some schools have teacher or peer tutoring programmes where you can get one-on-one help without having to pay for a more expensive professional tutor.
  3. Get a friend to help you. Don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for help! If your friend is a science genius and your physics teacher is atrocious, it’s always worth a shot to ask.

Good luck! You can still do fantastically, and hopefully you’ll have some better teachers next year.

See, the problem with how Sara Lance is written in Arrow is that they make you think she’s this brooding, stone cold killer, which she totally is. But once you watch Legends of Tomorrow you realize she’s also just like the BIGGEST FUCKING DORK??? When you’re watching Arrow, you miss out on the finger guns and the peace signs and the trademark Sara Lance smirk. You miss out on the flirting with girls from every era and the “pew” sound she makes when she announces it isn’t her first rodeo. In conclusion, every person should watch legends of tomorrow

20 things I learned at 20

1. You can have only one best friend and that best friend can only be you. Because you may come across a dozen lovely people but the only one who can keep the ‘forever’ promise is you.

2. Family is the most important. This is the only love that is truly unconditional and absolutely pure. They love you when you’re 5 and when you’re 18. They love you in your failure and your success. Their love doesn’t increase because it’s already at its maximum right from the beginning, it’s already infinite.

3. Cocktails and aerated drinks may soothe your taste buds but tea soothes your entire body. It’s warm and calming and well, healthy.

4. Your first kiss means nothing if it’s not with the right person. And the right person doesn’t mean your soulmate or someone who will never break your heart but someone who in that moment loves you as much as you love them.

5. You’ve written over 350 exams and you’ve got a perfect score in some and scored miserably in others but do you remember your 9th grade math score? Do you even remember 9th grade math? Education is so important but not the stress and competitive grading that comes along with it. If you get a low score or even fail, not much will happen – you will get a retest. But if you get ill – mentally or physically, it will have undesired long term effects.

6. In 8th grade your school psychologist told you that you’re one of the few people who walk in life with open arms loving and helping everyone, not because you haven’t bled but because you know you will heal and have the strength to do so. At that point you laughed at her but now, years later you’re loving, accepting and helping in spite of having both, actual and metaphorical scars.
You’re kind and admitting that doesn’t make you conceited.

7. Goodbyes don’t always have to be dramatic. Writing an 800 words message won’t make it hurt any less than an 8 words one. Closure usually has not much to do with the ones who wronged you but with taking your time in dealing with all the stages of grief. Some stage like anger may take only a month but acceptance may take years and that’s okay.

8. Jealousy is a basic human trait. They can be the closest to you and yet envy your happiness and life. Envy is something you too experience and you can be happy for them and be sad for yourself at the same time because so bitter it is to view happiness from someone else’s eyes. You aren’t a horrible human being if you feel like there are better shades of green your grass could be.

9. Read at your own desire and pace.
You don’t have to read particular books to qualify as a bibliophile or read a specific number of books to be a bookworm either. Read what truly interests you and take your time because reading was never a task, don’t make it one now.

10. Money is important. Money can’t buy love but it can buy happiness. But not blood money. Money honestly earned through hard work. That kind of money is good, that kind of money is required. You have a certain standard of living and if you want to maintain that after your parents stop financing you, you must make sure to earn the same. It doesn’t make you a snob or a spoiled brat, it only makes you a human aware of your wants, many of which have turned into needs by now.

11. There are somethings you just never grow out of like bubbles and glitter and your mother’s hot chocolate and hugs. Those are the kind of things that make life bearable when adulting gets too hard. Those are the little things that matter the most.

12. You cry. A lot.
But you don’t cry in front of people for their pity. You don’t cry to manipulate situations. You cry because you accept the pain. You cry because you don’t reject or lock away your emotions. You cry because your mental, emotional and physical self are in sync and that’s healthy. That’s so lovely.

13. Bake cakes. They don’t have to look pretty as long as they taste delicious. Paint canvases. They don’t have to be a master piece as long as all the paint in your hands and face and jeans makes you feel complete. Write more. It doesn’t have to a novel or even be posted online as long as it lets you breathe a little lighter and smile wider.

14. Go for walks alone, sit on the beach without your headphones, look up at the sky without a lover, buy flowers for yourself. Nature is legit free (for the most part). And it’s the richest thing that the world has. Le it bring you peace, let it help you survive.

15. Make home feel home. Sometimes you won’t have your family to make it home. Sometimes you will have to make it home by putting a part of yourself and that means investing the time, energy and money in making it feel yours, in making it feel right. It may not be your ‘dream house’, it may just be a tiny room but it’s yours. Your surroundings play a major role in affecting your mood and vibe.

16. Energy is real.
You may not know much about Science beyond 10th grade but you do know this, e=mc ²  which means everything is energy, you are energy and there is positive and negative energy and you can feel it and you experience it in every person you meet, every place you visit, every room you step inside. You can and you must choose to surround yourself with positive energy. What you attract, you do get; what you attract you become.

17. Spend time with yourself. It’s some of the best time you will have. You need to unwind, you need it to re-energize, you need it to focus and you need it for peace. You can go to a cafe by yourself, write, read, meditate, talk to yourself out loud, dance in your underwear, cook and just be.

18.  Take care of yourself- no one else can, no one else will. Drink loads of water, there’s a reason why more than half your body is made up of water. Sleep well because staying up all night isn’t something to be proud of, it’s stupid. Don’t skip breakfast because skipping breakfast makes you crave fatty foods for the rest of the day. Stay healthy not because you want to look a certain way but because you want to feel strong and energetic and have an active mind, body and heart. Staying healthy emotionally and mentally is just as important. So let those who want to go, go and never say yes to something your gut wants to scream ‘NO’ to.

19. Love yourself. If you don’t love yourself you will look for other people to love you. If you don’t accept yourself, you will keep seeking other people’s validation and the moment they withdraw it or walk away, you will crumble. And you don’t want to crumble. You want to enjoy the one person’s company you have to live with forever – yourself. Work on being a person you’d love to spend your life with because let’s face it, you don’t have a choice. It’s a long term investment and the only one that will never fail you.

20. In Shakespeare’s words, “To thine own self be true”. In order to love yourself, knowing yourself is very important.  And knowing yourself doesn’t mean the adjectives that people use for you or what your zodiac sign says about you. It means what you know in your heart to be your truth.

One more for good luck?

21. You laughed and thought it was very witty when you came across the quote, ‘Don’t take life too seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.’
but god. Can it be any truer? Most things you’re stressing over now won’t even matter 3 years from now. But good days will turn into heart-warming memories that will stay with you even 2 decades later.
Happiness and success are two different things but remember, they aren’t mutually exclusive. At least they don’t have to be.

Where…..is my Campstuck AU?

And I don’t mean making the kids into predetermined trolls (Max as Karkat, Neil as Sollux etc) although that’s pretty awesome too. I mean starting this shit ALL OVER AGAIN AND MAKING THEM INTO TROLLS JUST AS THEY ARE

So far I’m thinking:

Max, Neil, Nikki: The Kids™

David: Troll, Rust

He knows he’ll be the first to die but that won’t stop him from being the best darn troll he can be! Decent psychic abilities, but rarely if ever uses them. Has pale feelings for Daniel

Gwen: Troll, Bronze

The next one up…she knows she’s gonna die soon and doesn’t bother fighting it. Annoyed. Depressed. Just leave her alone. Has pale feelings for David, but won’t admit it

Harrison: Troll, Gold

Awesome psychic abilities, but no one takes them seriously because he’s so low on the hemospectrum. Lives alone because he made his lusus vanish by accident. In a kismessisitude with Nerris

Space Kid: Troll, Olive

Completely clueless. Everyone lower than him is annoyed that he’ll live longer than them, everyone higher is annoyed he’s not lower. Probably needs a moirail to keep him from accidentally dying, but no one is willing to volunteer– except Nurf??

Jasper: Troll, Jade

He hangs out with David the most, not much is known about him

Preston: Troll, Teal

Not too high on the hemospectrum, but not too low either. Used to be Nurf’s matesprit, but eventually found the courage to break it off. Now is the auspistice for Nerris and Harrison. Very overdramatic, longs for revolution, has gotten warnings before to shut up

Nerris: Troll, Cobalt

Her psychic powers are not as good as Harrison’s, and she resents that. Loves to FLARP, usually with Harrison and Preston, and roleplay. It was her idea to mess with the humans

Nurf: Troll, Indigo

Has no control over his own strength, usually found bullying lowerbloods. When Preston broke off their red relationship, he nearly murdered someone. May or may not have pale feelings for Space Kid–SHUT UP HE NEVER SAID THAT. Despite being an asshole, he tries to keep himself in check

Daniel: Troll, Purple

Do I even have to explain? Can’t decide if he likes David as red, pale, or black.

Dolph: Troll, Violet

He likes drawing a lot, but wouldn’t mind murdering a bunch of land-dwellers if the chance came up. Has red feelings for Ered that she knows about but doesn’t care.

Ered: Troll, Fuchsia

Being the next heiress should be cool. Doesn’t care much about blood caste one way or another–she’s too cool for that. Everyone respects her

Imagine what a session for them would be like.

Imagine Nikki introducing them to Sburb and being super excited because ‘guys this will be great!!’

Imagine Max finding his house being torn up by a way too enthusiastic Nikki– 'sorry, I just really wanted to see what your bathtub would look like on your bed!’

Imagine Neil rolling his eyes at first but okay time out what the hell is that a meteorite.

Imagine each troll taking over a kid to mess around with, just like in the comic. (Harrison tries to troll Nikki, but Nerris does too, so most of Nikki’s trolling is the two of them just trying to outdo each other. Ered also joins in at some point, but very briefly)

(Space Kid reaches out to Neil at first but Neil just blocks him–after eight more tries, Neil unblocks him, but refuses to fall for this shit, and Harrison eventually takes over.)

(Max is forced to deal with Preston giving him the most dramatic, overexaggerated guide-through ('and here, you must off your physical form to achieve godhood! ah, such is the fate of us mortals–’ 'wait hold up are you telling me to fucking KILL myself’) as well as David’s failed trolling attempts.)

Imagine Daniel starting to kill everyone off in a fit of religious purpleblood madness–he starts with Space Kid, and everyone realizes too late that when they said they wanted Space Kid dead, they didn’t mean it like this. Nurf is horrified when he finds out, and probably ends up giving himself to Daniel (not on purpose). Jasper is the next to go, and Daniel nearly reaches Gwen too before David leaps into shoosh-pap action. Gwen doesn’t know how to feel about this (He saved her?? But now he’s with Daniel??? And she liked him?????)

Imagine Max being first to reach godtier because 'wow, all I have to do is kill myself? I wanted to do that a LONG time now’.

Imagine who else would make godtier. And what classpect would they be? I’m sure Nikki and Neil would join on after Max, as well as maybe Nerris and Gwen (hell yeah, immortality)

Imagine them all meeting up with the trolls at last, and huh, Max didn’t know that the ridiculous drama queen trolling him was this cute. And weird, Neil hadn’t expected the idiot claiming he was psychic to be so charming.

Imagine Max being stunned to see David because 'you look like my dad…only younger…and greyer…and stuff’, and being met with a blank look because 'what’s a dad?’

Just….

Slay me with those Campstuck-fueled headcanons

bit of a rant

ya know what im really tired of?

fandoms demanding ships from show creators/crews

are ships.. really so important that you’re gonna just harass the people that gave you this material in the first place. make them hate fandoms in silence and worse make them hate what they create? this is especially irksome when its directed towards a)disney shows and b)shows with heavy plot. im not really directing any of this towards any show in particular mind you, theres far too many fandoms going after this trend to single any out at this point, there are some high contenders though.

more under the cut because this rant ran away from me and became way longer than intended

Why Midoriya Izuku is the Best Shounen Main Character

Alright so I’m pretty guilty right now. I have a lot of things to sort out and I still unanswered asks and oh boy do I got a lot of fanfic writing to do before summer ends and I’m opening requests soon but JESUS Y’ALL. Im a huge fan of this series and I’ll be damned if I miss writing something for this boy’s birthday. I already missed writing my Inko appreciation on her birthday but I won’t let her down!

So…HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MIDORIYA IZUKU AKA BEST SHOUNEN MC

Woah, broad statement to say huh? Well, my friends, I’ve read a lot of manga, particularly shounens since that’s my more favorite genre, and I have to say that Midoriya Izuku has been the best main character I’ve ever read and I only hope he continues to grow into his beautiful character.

I mean even from the beginning of the manga, the way he was written was so completely relatable and realistic. In the very beginning of the manga, he was written to be this lonely boy who suffered through bullying and suicide comments and continuously kept going because of his obsession with heroes. From the very beginning, Horikoshi gave us this character that wasn’t perfect (rather was filled with psychological issues) and really at the bottom of the totem pole. I know a lot of people have compared Izuku with Naruto but at least Naruto was born with an incredibly gifted ability from the start. Izuku was literally born with nothing. In a society where there are heroes running rampant and where Izuku dreams about being a hero, he was literally born with all odds against him in that regard. Yet, through all the loneliness, through all the bullying, Izuku still stayed strong through all of that and continued to dream on his goal, only truly wavering once when All Might told him he should find a new dream (and even then, he still got himself almost killed but I’ll get to that in a bit).

And to add on to his realistic demeanor, I know a lot of people call Izuku a cry baby and make fun of his constant amount of crying but honestly? Imagine this: you were born a black sheep in society, everyone looks down on you, you dream of being something great but you weren’t born with the skills for it, someone you consider to be a friend looks down on you and literally tells you to go jump off a building and destroys a piece of you that you hold memorable, then you almost get killed but someone saves you, then you finally get to meet your idol, the person keeping you alive essentially and they tell you straight up that you should give up on your dream, then you’re devastated but you see that friend in a life threatening position so you literally sacrifice yourself to go save them even though you can’t do anything, and then instead of praise, you get all the blame and beaten down again while your friend gets all the praise, but then you end that EMOTIONAL DAY (keep in mind it happened within a DAY) with your idol telling you that you can be that person and he will help you achieve your dream. I won’t even go onto the other times he’s cried but honestly? I know if I was in his position, I wouldn’t have even stomached half of what happened and I’m sure most of you reading this wouldn’t be able to have a DAY like that without crying. I’m sure with 99% of you, at least once tears will shed. Izuku during his time has been through emotionally exhausting feats and I think it’s absolutely INCREDIBLE that Horikoshi gives us this raw character with RAW emotions. Through Izuku being this emotional, not only does it help us relate to him much more but it helps shows that, hey you can still be strong AND be emotional too. Emotions doesn’t equal weakness and Horikoshi really shows that tremendously, especially when the audience are a group of young ones-adults that are taught daily showing emotions is weak and you have to be strong and not show weakness because apparently crying shows weakness. With Izuku, all of that is stomped on the ground and it’s truly inspiring.

And oh boy, my favorite part of Izuku! So most shounen protagonists I have seen and come across are usually born or given this great ability suddenly and yes, while they have to train, they normally get the hang of it pretty quickly and are pretty op with it (I’m looking at you Natsu). Most of the time nakama power is enough to win the battle even though the power difference is crazy different. Yet with Izuku, it’s not like that at all. We are 145 chapters in and Izuku can only still use a small portion of One for All still and he’s gotten to the point where, because of his continuous idiotic use of One for All, he has the major consequence that if he uses it too much at 100%, he could lose FUNCTION IN HIS ARMS. OH YEA, PRETTY BIG DEAL AND CONSEQUENCE FOR THAT.

From what I just wrote, this was my favorite thing that was said:

Yes, folks, he not only says that once, not twice, but multiple times throughout the series. I think the most recent time he said it was during Episode 27 when he was climbing the walls, though I’m sure he’s said it in the future arcs and I forgot about it. Due to this new given status he was given, Izuku acknowledges that he is completely far behind from everyone else, he understands that he is at the bottom of the totem pole and that he has to work 10x harder than everyone else since he lost about 10-11 years to get used to his quirk. And throughout the series, Horikoshi doesn’t pull back on that, in fact he really drives it in that, while Izuku does become the greatest hero of all time, it doesn’t happen overnight, it takes a lot of time, training and consequences to get to that point. Even from the beginning, we were given a small glimpse of his incredible training regime and that alone just shows how much effort he has to put in and even that wasn’t enough. I won’t lie, it feels so refreshing that the Main Character isn’t some overpowered person who always gets away with his ridiculous moves, rather it’s nice that he does have consequences and that he see him actually develop into that role while he is being surrounded by others who could take that title from him.

Also, not only is he an intelligent and incredibly hard worker like holy hell, but can we talk about his personality as well? See, here is another perk about Izuku, we weren’t given some either suave person or an annoying character that makes you want to rip out your hair because they’re either too happy or too sad or too emo cringey mess. Rather, Horikoshi gave him a realist personality who thinks through, is incredibly modest and respectful, and holy fuck the most selfless character in the entire show.

I mean, we already know his intelligence and craftiness as he analyzes heroes and their moves as seen through the constant muttering he does as he watches them and his writings in his notebook

Which might I add right now that I’m really happy Horikoshi gave him this type of analytic behavior as it makes his earlier actions have a bit more sense involved in them, like due to his constant observation he was able to use moves in combat that at least got him by in the beginning

To also tie in with that, can I say that it is so refreshing to have a main character be a complete DORK about girls and such like that?? Like for someone who was lonely and only had much of the internet to interact with, it makes complete sense that in the beginning he’s really nervous around females or even touching them or talking to them.

Like look at how he talks to Ochako

Or even how he reacted when Tsuyu said to put her down

Or even how he reacted towards Mei when she had her chest all up in his grill.

Not only does having this personality trait make him a total dork and cutie but it really shows that we won’t see anything super perverted on Deku’s side. Like if he’s too nervous to talk or even touch a girl in a different manner, than it really shows how respectful he is and how modest he is and how we won’t see any pervy side of Deku anytime soon, which is refreshing for an MC to be that way since most MCs have to either touch or acknowledge their love interest’s chest before they can be established as a good character.

Though, I will say that even though those are amazing points of our birthday boy, the one personality trait of his that truly makes him a much more fitting hero than Bakugou or even Todoroki or even my baby Ochako is how incredibly SELFLESS he is. Ok ok I know that’s a common personality trait but Izuku really takes it to the max throughout the manga.

Like when right after he was told to jump by Bakugou, his initial thoughts were based on Kacchan not wanting to get severely punished by the law

Or when he risks his life to save Bakugou from the sludge monster even though he has no quirk

Or when he risks his life once again to save Ochako even though he can’t control his quirk

Or when he risks his life AGAIN to save All Might

Or when he attempts to help Ochako before her fight with Bakugou

Or when he puts his spot in the tournament on the line to help Todoroki reconcile his fire side

Or when he helps Iida with the Stain fight and notifies the entire class to come and help

Or when he even goes well over his power limit to save Kota and show him that heroes are good people that can hold on their own

Or when, even though he could lose function in his GOD DAMN ARMS, he still helps the others get Bakugou back from the villains

And note guys, I didn’t even list everything. I just listed the things I could remember but there is so much more that I could have listed as well. And legit, the things I mentioned, there was no benefit in him doing that, like during the time he did them, all there were were cons for him, there was nothing positive in any of those situations for him. And yet? He still did it. He still put himself and his wishes behind to help those around him and make sure they were successful or safe, even if it meant his own life on the line. I’ve never seen other shounen protagonists push themselves this much in only 145 chapters and I think that’s absolutely incredible.

Alright so this post is reaching to be about 2k and while I can say more about this wonderful boy, I also want to make sure that I not only post this on time but that I don’t find myself repeating the same thing over and over again. While Izuku is not my favorite character of all time, I am so happy and blessed that he is the main character of this amazing manga series. He’s grown so much since the first chapter and Horikoshi is only setting up the series more to have him grow much more and I’m excited to see how much more he grows as the series progresses. He is such a good character that is well balanced and realistic and such and I know for myself personally that I really relate to him in a lot of ways. Truth be told, it makes me actually really incredibly sad when people dismiss his reasoning for being a hero or when people just write him off as a cry baby because there’s so much more to him than just that. His reasoning to be a hero is realistic and deep enough, his emotions are realistic, his psychological issues that he faced with in the beginning shows his strength tremendously.

Izuku is one of the best main characters and I’m so happy all of us were blessed with him on this wonderful day! Yay!!! Happy Birthday Deku!!!

Tldr; Izuku’s face appears when you look up the definition of what a friend and a hero is.

And so it begins 💘

One of the many ways I like to imagine how Draco and Harry started dating…

  • running into each other at a Ministry function, one year after the war
  • Draco trying to be as haughty as ever, but not being able to meet Harry’s eye
  • Harry inquiring how Draco and his mother have been doing
  • Draco giving clipped answers, until he blurts how grateful he is to Harry for speaking at their trial
  • Draco blushing as Harry smiles at him
  • Draco fidgeting with his robes as he waits for Harry to come back with new drinks
  • retreating to the balcony, because it’s too noisy and people keep interrupting them
  • Draco admitting he kept up with Harry’s every move through the papers after his fifth glass of champagne
  • Harry giggling and playfully patting Draco on the back
  • Draco noticing how Harry’s hand lingers on his shoulder before he quickly pulls it away
  • Harry casually asking Draco if he has any plans the following night
  • Draco staring at Harry when he suggests they meet for dinner
  • Draco freaking out when he gets home (Is this a date? He didn’t say it was. But it’s dinner! Will he even remember it tomorrow? He was quite tipsy. Oh! *falls over while trying to undress himself* I seem to be a bit tipsy myself.”)
  • Draco chewing on his lip when he receives an owl the next morning
  • Draco grinning as he writes his reply

The first date

  • Harry blushing when they enter the restaurant, because he realises how very romantic this place is
  • Harry making a mental note to scold Hermione for suggesting a place like this for his first date with Draco
  • Draco being completely impassive until he can hide his face behind the menu card to lose his shit silently
  • sitting in awkward silence, avoiding each other’s eyes
  • Harry bursting into laughter and pointing out the ridiculousness of the situation
  • Draco’s lips twitching in response
  • Harry noticing how soft Draco’s face looks in the candlelight and not being able to look away the whole evening
  • both refusing to let the other pay, so they split the bill
  • Harry walking Draco home
  • shy glances as they arrive at Draco’s house
  • Harry being unsure if it would be too forward to kiss Draco after their first date
  • Draco wishing Harry would give him some kind of signal so he can throw his arms around him
  • Harry mumbling something about having a good time
  • Draco stretching out his hand on impulse to bid Harry goodnight
  • Harry laughing, but also looking a bit disappointed
  • Harry taking Draco’s hand, but then enveloping him in a very awkward embrace
  • Draco closing the door behind him and leaning against it, his heart beating fast

After the first date

  • Draco finding excuses to owl Harry, because he’s not sure how to ask for a second date
  • Draco snapping after the eleventh letter (of the day) and bluntly asking Harry to dinner on Friday
  • Ron asking Harry what happened when he hears a loud crash in Harry’s office
  • Harry absentmindedly pulling out his wand to mend the chair he just broke in his enthusiasm

The second date

  • Draco getting flustered when Harry appears on his doorstep, holding flowers
  • Draco trying to hide his eagerness
  • trading playful insults on the way to the restaurant
  • Harry holding the door open for Draco
  • Harry setting the chair in place for Draco
  • Draco mocking Harry about it, but secretly loving it
  • Harry’s hand slowly creeping across the table
  • Harry trying to act nonchalant when his fingertips brush Draco’s
  • Draco getting so nervous, he makes a weird gurgling sound while drinking his wine
  • Harry throwing caution to the wind and boldly taking Draco’s hand
  • Draco letting out a little gasp when he feels Harry’s warm skin on his
  • eating with one hand because neither wants to let go of the other
  • neither commenting on that
  • Draco grudgingly letting Harry pay (“Under the condition that I pay for the next one!”)
  • Harry’s lips stretching into a grin (“So there’s going to be a third date?”)
  • Draco blushing hard (“Oh. Well, if that was too presumptuous of- *Harry giggling* Oh, shut up, Potter!”)

anonymous asked:

oh man oh man oh man that headcannon of andrew sleeping on neil melted my heart, pleeeeease give me andrew randomly draping himself over neil (cause that boy doesn't gaf) at random intervals and people, foxes or otherwise, just having a meltdown cause! cute!! whattt?!?

This works so well with an idea I already have and I am excited. Okay, so:

  • Andrew and Neil get a lot more comfortable with the whole Andrew sleeping on Neil thing before there’s any chance of anything like it happening around other people
  • And even when it does, Andrew does it to be an asshole
  • He does it in front of Kevin first
  • (Which, side note, connects to the hc I have that when Andrew and Neil become more comfortable with touch around each other, they eventually start doing little subtle things when they are with just Kevin, but never anything beyond holding hands)
  • (Because they are around Kevin a lot and Kevin does not care and will just keep on talking about exy or doing whatever he was already doing like nothing odd has happened)
  • So, late Friday night Aaron randomly shows up at their dorm for something that both twins seem to think is pretty important
  • But Nicky, Kevin, and Neil have no fucking clue what it is
  • And Andrew disappears with Aaron without an explanation before any of them can ask
  • Andrew comes back again early in the morning
  • He looks like absolute shit and he clearly hasn’t slept
  • But he doesn’t say anything about where he went with Aaron
  • He completely ignores questions about what the hell happened
  • When Nicky tries to ask again, Andrew deflects by asking if Kevin is ready to go
  • Because Andrew has already reluctantly agreed to take Kevin to Exites on Saturday morning and he knows he will not hear the end of it if he doesn’t
  • Plus, he’s not really in the mood to stick around and have them ask him questions for the rest of the day
  • And Neil can’t just take Kevin to Exites because Kevin still gets nervous without Andrew around
  • (Also, side note, Aaron is no more helpful when asked by anyone about what the hell Andrew had to go help him with for five hours in the middle of the night)
  • (And Andrew never fucking says a word about it and pretends it never happened because he doesn’t care about talking about it and he doesn’t need to amplify the looks and comments he’s already getting from Neil for dropping everything to help Aaron in the middle of the night)
  • Anyways, back to the thing I’m supposed to be writing
  • So, Kevin is already ready and has been waiting nervously for Andrew’s return
  • Neil goes too because he likes Exites and he likes Andrew
  • Plus, Andrew operating on no sleep and going on a long trip alone with Kevin where the main focus is exy sounds like a terrible fucking idea
