Thinking of all the ways I’ve grown through Taylor’s album eras. She was there with me for everything. I have this superstition –— Ever since I got a car, her most current album can’t leave my CD player. I started driving when Fearless was out. Every tragic and majorly happy thing I’ve driven to and from, Taylor’s been the voice in the passenger’s seat. She’s been the comfort, the co-celebrator, the friend who reminds me that it’s not okay to let someone hurt me. It’s sort of like a good luck charm that does a little more to lead me in the right direction. I got married and became a mom since 1989 came out, but her album still spins in my CD player, and it won’t come out until Reputation does. I’ll never outgrow Taylor. I never want to.
