JCB by Jean Charles Boisset No 69 Crémant de Bourgogne Brut Rosé

Just me and my sparkling Burgundy rosé hangin’ out on a chill afternoon. Beautiful salmon color on this one with a nose of raspberries, currants, and wild strawberries. Similar on the palate with a hint of lingonberry added in. Nice for the price!

2010 Domaine Jules Desjourneys Fleurie La Chapelle des Bois

Let me tell you… there is some yummy stuff coming out of Beaujolais, especially from this rockstar producer! Juicy small red fruit, wet soil, chocolate, raspberries, and brushwood with a dusting of cinnamon and brown spice on the nose. Earthy wild fruit, red currants, nutmeg, cinnamon, and earth on the palate. High acidity and very present tannins. Really great stuff - like a baby Burgundy cru!

Blossoming/growing in my yard right now. ;) In order: dwarf periwinkle (known here as myrtle for some reason even though the flower is nothing like actual myrtle), the start of blueberry blossoms, apple blossoms, one kind of lilac, pear blossom, wild daisies (tiny as a clover leaf), another kind of lilac, currants set with the remnants of blossoms, grapes leafing out with remains of last year’s crop, and a wild strawberry blossom. I love my yard.
