I'm probably going to get a lot of hate for this but..

I still don’t understand why ‘art reposting’ is such an issue.

The only part I can understand, is if art is somebody’s main source of income. It is completely understandable for somebody to be peeved that their art has been reposted when they make it for a living.

But that aside, artists post their work online (I’m talking about fanart, not original pieces) for others in their fandom to see.

Once it’s online, you cannot get it back. It’s out there forever and it will be reposted onto every social media platform regardless of whether or not you want it to.

Granted, I do understand wanting people to ask permission to post your work. I think that is completely fair and not very difficult for people to uphold to, as well as source it.

I also find it wrong when other’s re-edit a fanart to fit their ship, rather than create their own. To me, (and I’m not a fanartist, this is just my views on the subject) somebody reposting a fluffy fanart of SasuSaku is much less harmful than somebody else turning that same fanart into SasuHina (for example).

I know I’m going to get a lot of hate for this post, especially with my history with a few fanartists in the SS fandom, but so be it. I know a lot of wonderful SS fanart pages on Instagram who rave about all of your work.

The point of posting your work (I think; I may be wrong) to social media such as tumblr is to have an audience that can grow.

With a source, having other people post things such as 'blablas art is so incredible’ would easily draw new followers to you.

So while yes, I understand 'some’ of the frustration fanartists go through, and I empathize with that, I do not and I don’t think I ever will be able to comprehend getting mad at other’s sharing their work.

Which- as a final point, is not plagiarism.

Also (since I have the strongest feeling this is going to get a bunch of replies) please don’t get personal. This is just my opinions and views on this subject. I make my own edits and write my own fan fiction, I create fandom things too so I’m not just a 'reposter’ (nor do I repost anything anymore). I just wanted to say my opinion on the subject, and I’ll be happy to discuss this with anyone as long as they’re respectful.

About two years ago I covered this giant tee in puffy paint spookiness and never wore it… In fact, I thought it was “too wacky” so I stowed it away in a bag of “cherished but unfortunate garments”… I rediscovered it last week and now I think I’m just gonna rock it because why not? Puffy paint.

Joker from Suicide Squad - I wanted to redesign his tattoos to try illustrate his mentality/beliefs of him and B-man being parallels (Bats is on the left, Joker is to the right.) I feel the original ones only accentuate what he looks like on the outside, not what’s within (*/▽\*)♡ might finish properly some day.
