What proof do we have that Eris is abusive, other than that characters have said he is? Most held a similar opinion of Rhys, what's the difference? That we have a first person narrator who is privy to the backstory of one but not the other? I'm not trying to be aggressive but I want to know your thoughts. I thought showing was more important than telling in storytelling.

Okay then, like, what ‘proof’ have we got for literally 90% of the things in this series???? Feyre is a 19 year old human girl in a world full of immortal fae. You want an eye witness account for everything in this thing, do you?

How do I know the war happened the way they said it did? Feyre never saw it, she’s only had characters tell her about it. How do I know Rhys actually hated what he did with Amarantha and didn’t just swap sides right at the end? How do I know Rhys’ dad sucked but his mother was a good person, I’ve only heard him tell me about her, I’ve seen it. How do I know Tamlin’s brothers were awful? Never seen them either. How do I know Beron is really that awful either, I mean maybe he’s wearing a mask too and all the characters are just wrong. How do I know Mor is queer? I’ve never seen her with a girl before, I just have her word for it, maybe she lied. How do I know literally anything in this entire series because WE GET TOLD MOST THINGS NOT SHOWN THEM.

This is what happens when you have a limited first person pov. The character HAS to get told things in order to tell us things like ???? A little bit of common sense please, do you want me to like, historically fact check Prythian for everything that Feyre tells us about it???

And tbh SJM has a pretty crappy habit of doing the whole ‘telling over showing’ thing anyway. See: the entirety of the Throne of Glass series, Mor’s powers in ACOTAR (she’s awesome, really, we promise, we just haven’t actually SEEN her do anything), the assertions that Rhys and co are ~the most powerful ever~ have I actually SEEN that? Can I actually see that? No.  Do I really question these things? No. Because I understand that this is the only way I can actually get some information out of this story and if I only went with what I ‘saw’ and disbelieved everything else I’d have literally nothing??

And when it comes to the whole Eris thing, like, dude, it’s not just a couple of characters who’ve said he’s abysmal it’s like, wait let me make a list:

Tamlin: “His father had her put down. Executed, in front of Lucien, as his two eldest brothers held him and made him watch.” That would be Eris. So at best you’ve got conflicting statements here.

Lucien: “Lucien crossed his arms, leaning against the back of the couch. “I have to agree with Cassian. Eris is a snake.M, yes, Eris, HIS OWN BROTHER. If anyone was going to know Eris was ~not a bad person~ it’d be Lucien. Lucien who lived in that court. Who knew him. Who Eris apparently cared enough to protect/save, according to him. Eris who apparently cares so much about his mother (as we have seen Lucien does SEEN that is SEEN with our own two eyes) Why the hell would Lucien not know Eris was ‘wearing a mask’. Or maybe…Eris really does suck.

Rhys: “Eris refused to marry her. Said she’d been sullied by a bastard-born lesser faerie, and he’d now sooner fuck a sow. […]Rhys said with soft wrath, “Eris left her for dead in the middle of their woods.” Idgaf how he tries to spin it later, this is what happened.

Cassian: “You’re working with that prick,” Cassian cut in, whatever catching-up now over, apparently. He moved to Mor’s side, a hand on her back. He shook his head at Azriel and Rhys, disgust curling his lip. “You should have spiked Eris’s fucking head to the front gates.”

Amren: “Your whole family is despicable,” Amren said to Lucien.

Mor: At Mor, whose face went white with dread. […]Or at Eris, heir to the Autumn Court, as he strolled into the room.

And I had the terrible sense that Mor had gone somewhere far, far away as Eris set down his goblet and said, “You look well, Mor.”

The sight of him triggers actual real panic attacks and flashbacks that we can literally see from Feyre’s POV. Five hundred years after the fact and Mor is still traumatised enough by what he did to her to react like this even after all that time.

Then we have Feyre’s POV herself. Through her we’ve seen Eris laughing alongside his other brothers as Lucien was tortured and nearly killed.

“I don’t suppose your handsome brothers know, Lucien,” she purred.

“If we did, Lady, we would be the first to tell you,” said the tallest. He was lean, well dressed, every inch of him a court-trained bastard. Probably the eldest, given the way even the ones who looked like born warriors stared at him with deference and calculation—and fear.

Ah, yes, that would be Eris actively promising help to Amarantha in order to damn Feyre and continue her reign. Then there’s the way Eris hunts down Lucien and Feyre in the Winter Court, actively harms them both. So that’s like…Basically every single main character in this book who’s told you Eris sucks.

What’s the basis for believing that he doesn’t, out of interest? I mean what ‘evidence’ do you have that he is actually wearing a mask, what do you have that’s so strong it goes against the testimony of multiple characters? Oh I know! You have Eris’ word for it and that’s it. Wow. So unbiased. So convincing. Eris tells us he’s not really a bad guy and that outweighs the half a dozen people who tells us he is! That’s just. Damn. What logic. Can’t argue with that.

Also, like, I’m sorry, but Rhys’ arc was done properly, Rhys’ redemption wasn’t a retcon it was a followed-through on plan. There were hints UtM that Rhys was not as black as he was painted (He killed the Summer Court faerie outright rather than leaving him to suffer, he repeatedly came to visit Feyre in her cell when no-one else would, he was honest with Feyre about the treatment he received at Amarantha’s hands (a vulnerability on his part), he told her why he was making her dance every night as well as the steps he put in place to protect her, he sent music to her and saved her life, he saved her life and Tamlin’s with the kiss (which Feyre is aware of), he tried to save Feyre’s life while Amarantha was torturing her)

Rhys was a complex, morally grey character UtM and it’s possible to show a different side to him and a ‘mask’ because there were always hints of him wearing one. What if Ianthe told Feyre she was actually a secret agent working for Prythian but she was forced to act the way she did to keep her cover? What if Amarantha said she’d only dominated Prythian that way to save it from something worse and she too was wearing a mask and working for the greater good? What if Hybern said there was a bigger threat facing them and he had an ulterior motive to this war (and also, I mean, how do you really know Hybern is that awful, we’ve only ever had people tell us about him, maybe he’s misunderstood too!!!!)  @valamerys wrote this out far better than I could in this post, read it too.

My thoughts are pretty simple, tbh: SJM decided to “”””””redeem”””””” Eris, likely to have him set-up to take over Autumn, now Lucien isn’t an option for that before what with the whole dramatic lost son of Day thing and she did a crap job of it. Like this isn’t some grand morality based character debate that’s going on here, SJM just handled this poorly. In order to make him seem not so bad she had to undo all of the canon that she’d set in place before hand and offer ‘alternative’ explanations for what happened that we’ve never heard about.

If she planned this all beforehand, if Eris was always wearing a mask why weren’t there hints of it before? Why didn’t she have Tamlin tell Feyre he got an anonymous tip-off the day he saved Lucien’s life from his brothers (which is what Eris claimed). Why wouldn’t Lucien defend him a little, say at least he cared about their mother/was sometimes kinder to him than the others? Why wouldn’t Rhys say that in the arranged marriage that petrified Mor, Eris was as unwilling as she was, that he argued against it? (Eris would have gone through with this marriage regardless of what it did to Mor if she hadn’t slept with Cassian) Why wouldn’t Eris stay quiet UtM or not show up to watch Lucien’s torture (which he does repeatedly)? Why, why, why, why, why would SJM not do something to show us that there might be more to Eris? Unless this was just a sloppy, last minute retcon to redeem a gross, abusive character who still to do this day petrifies his victim?

Like, if you consider showing to be of more importance than telling in stories….You’ve picked a mighty weird hill to die on here with Eris. Because this is literally the worst example of telling not showing in this entire series. There is no basis for anything that happens with Eris’ character in ACOWAR and the only thing we have stacked against the evidence of two and a half books is what Eris says and how he personally spins the story like ????

Idk dude, we can have a convoluted, let’s bend over backwards to redeem this guy and show he was misunderstood and has been wearing a mask so convincing it’s never ever ever cracked even once this entire time, to anyone! Even people who’ve known him for centuries….Or we go with the simpler: SJM really didn’t plan or execute this story very well at all. Which seems more reasonable?

Chapter Three - Coming Back:

“That’s really great news Y/N.” Sam was looking up at you from his chair in the library, a proud smile spread across his face. “And it just, came back to you?”

You nodded excitedly while Dean came around from behind you and made his way to the bar cart. “Yeah, well not everything came back,” he mumbled.

“He’s right,” you conceded, frowning a bit as you watched him pour a glass of whiskey. “It’s mostly kitchen stuff…”

“And you, Sam,” Dean grunted, taking a gulp of his drink. “She remembers your crappy taste in cereal.”

“Huh,” Sam sat back in his seat, thinking over the new information. “And what brought it back?”

“No idea. I was making sandwiches and then I opened the beer…”

Sam leaned forward, “Did you whack it against the table?”

You narrowed yours eyes at him suspiciously, “How did you know?”

He chuckled, running hand through his hair and down his cheek, scratching the scruff that darkened his jaw line. “Because that’s how you always open your beer, Y/N.”

The first time we came she seemed to fit so nicely in it, that was when we thought this was all just the flu. She didn’t even want us to bring her, because she hates hospitals. I didn’t really think she needed to come either she’s a tough kid, I mean she’s a Winchester for god sakes she can beat anything. It was Sam’s idea to take her in, now i thank god we did if we hadn’t  she’d have probably died before we made two states over, or at least that’s what the doctors said. I remembered the first time we were here like it was yesterday, when in reality it was months ago.

Hello! Please do a one-shot where the reader has been in Neverland for a while, but one day Peter notices how beautiful her eyes are and he realises that he loves her and he confesses and then fluff? Thx xxx

Warning/s: cursing, sexism

Summary: you hated each other and then boom!

Character: Peter Pan

I have been on Neverland for a long time now. It gets boring at times but who am I to complain? At least I’m not back in the real world. God, it sucks there! I hate school, I hate my classmates, I hate my neighbors, and I hate my parents. I’m basically just your typical teenager.

I was more than thankful when Pan’s shadow appeared in my room. I mean, it was weird at first but then it was cool. I get to leave my unloving hometown so why fight the shadow?

During my first few days on Neverland, I was treated as a slave but then the lost boys got the hang of me and started treating me like I’m one of them. But all we did was hunt, play Pan’s games, dance. I mean, it sounds fun but it gets boring when you do it every single day.

Pan, the ruler of the island, is quite a mystery for me. All I know is that he’s a sexist bastard. He was the reason why the boys treated me as a slave. Because apparently, “Girls are supposed to do what boys told them to”. After that, I never get to talk to him. It’s either he’s busy or he just doesn’t want to talk to me. I mean, I’m actually good with that because whenever he would talk to me, all he does is make sexist remarks.

So that’s basically the reason why I enjoy not being his companion. I don’t even know what he has against girls. Like, when I first arrived here, he wasn’t so happy about it. He just hated my guts immediately.

Y/N thanked the shadow for taking her away from her ‘home’. The shadow just nodded at the girl, feeling confused as to why she was thankful because every other kid that he brought to Neverland was either crying or struggling.

He looked at Y/N one last time and flew away, leaving Y/N standing there, looking rather like a lost puppy.

Y/N looked around as countless of boys appeared behind the trees. The one who was wearing a camouflage outfit and looks like the leader walked over to her with a scowl on his face.

One of the lost boys who sneaked up behind Y/N, knocked her down, making her kneel in front of the leader. The leader smirked at her helpless figure.

“A girl, I see. Why does my shadow keep on bringing useless ones these days?” he insulted, his voice showing off his English accent. The boys around him laughed and snickered at his insult.

Y/N just sat there, feeling vulnerable, mad, and scared at the same time. She looked at the rude boy and glared at him.

The boy raised an eyebrow at her and forced an amused smile on his face. “Feisty one, aren’t you?” he chuckled. “What’s your name, girl?” he spat the word ‘girl’ with disgust.

“Y-Y/N” she stuttered. The boy smirked at her. “Not so tough now huh? I’m Peter Pan by the way. I just wanted you to know what your ruler’s name is” he chuckled at her vulnerable state.

“Look at her boys! She’ll be our new slave because that’s what girls are for. Take her to camp and make her do your chores or whatever it is that needs cleaning.” Pan waved her off like she was some kind of object.

~end of flashback~

I stared at the fire in front of me while thinking about how the boys decided to treat me normally. Nevermind how. I’m just thankful that they’re not sexist like their leader. Pan would always make these sexist remarks whenever he gets the chance. Like when I was washing my clothes, he would throw his dirty laundry at me, telling me that I should clean them because that’s what I’m good for and I couldn’t even complain because he’s the ruler of the island and he can kill me in just one blink of an eye so I just do as he says.

There’s also this one time where I was eating lunch and he decided to take mine, telling me that I should just make another one for myself because girls are supposed to cook  for guys and blah blah blah.

I hate his guts for being so sexist. Like, sexism is next to racism in my list of hated things. So I decided to just stay away from him or avoid him so I won’t have to deal with him.

My thoughts were interrupted when someone poked me from the side. I looked at them and when I noticed that it was Pan, I looked back at the flame in front of me, ignoring Pan’s presence.

“Aww, why are you ignoring me?” he cooed mockingly.

I rolled my eyes and stood up, muttering a “I need to do something” so I don’t come out as rude.

I walked into my tent and sat on my bed, bending down to puff my pillow. When I sat back up though, I wasn’t expecting for Pan to be sitting beside me so I yelped in shock, putting a hand on my chest.

“Oh gosh” I whispered.

“Sorry, love. Didn’t mean to startle you” he chuckled.

I continued to steady my breathing while Pan sat there watching me with a smirk. When I was breathing normally, I looked at Pan and frowned when I saw him smirking. I have had enough of his ‘games’ and I’m not interested in playing them anymore.

“Okay, I really don’t want to be rude but you’re being really fucking rude and I don’t even know what I did to you that you always make me irritated or why you’re being such a sexist.” I shouted at him while looking down, not wanting to see his cold eyes that are probably glaring at me.

“What I’m trying to say is that please leave me alone to sleep.” I stated awkwardly, still looking down, realizing that I just shouted at Pan.

“Well look at that” he chuckled bitterly.

“Are you ordering me?” he asked, threateningly. I continued looking down, afraid as to what I might see when I look up.

“Look at me when I’m talking to you!” he shouted. I silently whimpered at his loud voice but I was still looking down, praying for my life.

“I said look at me!” he exclaimed, grabbing my face with one hand and forcing me to look at his face. I looked at him, my eyes probably glossy with tears, while he stared at me.

His face suddenly softened and he let go of my face, muttering a ‘sorry’. He was still staring at my face as I awkwardly sat in front of him.

“Um..” I coughed awkwardly, “Is something wrong?” I asked him.

“It’s just your eyes” he trailed off, still staring at me.

“What about them?” I asked, trying to ignore the awkwardness, which he doesn’t seem to be feeling.

“They’re.. beautiful” he smiled at me. My eyes widened as I choked on my own saliva.

Pan looked at me with worried eyes as he patted my back.

“Are you okay?” he asked.

“Yeah, yeah I’m fine. Are you?” I muttered.

“What do you mean?” he asked.

“You just told me that my eyes are beautiful” I chuckled awkwardly.

“It’s true” he stated, making me look at him weirdly.

“W-what?” I asked.

He sighed. “That’s why I came up to you earlier. But you shut me down quickly.” He chuckled.

“What are you talking about?” I asked him, completely confused.

“Okay listen” he started.

“I came to you earlier so I can apologize for being so mean to you ever since you came here. I was a dick for making fun of your gender. I just didn’t know how to act towards… girls” he scratched the back of his neck.

“Wow” was all I said.

“I’m sorry” he repeated.

“I heard you the first time” I said.

“So.. What do you say?” he asked.

“Mmm… Okay, I guess” I shrugged. “Just don’t be a dick again” I deadpanned.

He chuckled but then nodded.

“Ugh.. This might mess everything up but I wanted to..” he trailed off.

“To wha-“ I was cut off when he pressed his lips against mine, making my eyes go wide in shock. It took a while but I kissed back and felt him smile. He pulled away and smiled at me.

He leaned his forehead against mine and looked at me lovingly.

“I’ve always wanted to try that.” He whispered.

“And guess what? I loved it” he smiled.

“As surprising as it sounds.. I loved it too”

"Here, let me" with Luke Alvez?

Prompt: “Here, let me.”

A/N: sorry for posting a day late, allergies are kicking my butt omfg and holy crap guys, thank you so much for over 100 followers !!! <3

It had happened a few months ago, and ever since then, you have not been the same. You recalled people talking about their brush with death, the eerie light they saw at the end of the tunnel, or seeing their loved ones embracing them into the next chapter of their lives. For as long as the human race was alive the concept to death has eluded them, some speculating what truly happens to you when you die. You had died, well for a good several minutes, till you were revived and brought back to the world of the living. The job you had was dangerous and you knew that, which was why, being shot and the bullet grazing your artery should have not been a surprise. You couldn’t remember much about the incident itself, everything was black and hazy. Yet, the next thing you were aware of was the sterilized hospital room and the weary smile of Luke sitting by your bedside. The rest of team soon joined you in the room, and you did your best to portray the feeling of being perfectly fine in front of your friends, but it was merely a facade.

As an order from Prentiss, you were required to take a mandatory couple of weeks off, and you spent that time cooped up inside your apartment nearly going out of your mind. By the time you were let back on the job, you could swear that you were eternally grateful for doing something that you loved. You could swear you were fine, at least for the first few weeks; you slept peacefully and figured your life was finally back on track. Out of nowhere, they started. These vivid and horrible flashbacks, as you slowly began to remember the horrors you had endured. You couldn’t sleep, barely could eat, and couldn’t help but keep a cautionary hand on your gun at all times. Paranoia filled out every crevice of your brain, and despite the fact that the unsub who shot you was now deceased, it didn’t stop your mind from playing cruel tricks on you. So far, you did you best to keep the team off your track, and you were doing a completely terrible job. They were suspicious and extra cautious about your odd behavior, especially since your accident, and they would use any excuse to ask if you were alright. As much as you loved them and thought it was sweet of them to look after you like that, you found the attention a bit suffocating.

The current assignment that the team was researching was in one of the biggest metropolises in the country: New York City. The unsub happened to be eerily like the case that caused your accident, and the team deduced that he was indeed a copycat. That was when the threats started, sent to the police station and the hotel that you were working at. Everything, from the handwriting to the words he chose to use, sounded exactly like the man who caused your brush with death. You were shaken to say the least, but determined to catch the person who dared used this as an excuse to victimize you again. However, for your safety, Prentiss immediately placed you in a small hotel, with a police car stationed twenty-four hours a day outside your room.

You couldn’t stand to be in that room a second longer, the walls practically suffocating you as stood around doing nothing. Prentiss had banned you from looking at the files pertaining to this case, knowing full well that will only further motivate you to leave the room and track down the unsub. Therefore, you were forced to sit down on the couch and flip an endless array of boring channels till you fell asleep. Currently, a crappy movie was playing in the background and you could feel your eyelids beginning to get heavy. Yet, you were suddenly wide awake as soon as you heard the soft padding of footsteps approaching your door. Grabbing your gun off the coffee table in front of you and muting the television, you then approached the door. Of course it was expected to have other occupants inside the hotel, and you have had a couple of scares like this. You creeped towards the door, stopping right beside the doorframe, just as the footsteps, halted outside of the door. It was silent for a couple of seconds, the only sounds you could hear were the soft puffs of your own breath.

“[Y/N], come on, it’s me,” the soft voice of Luke Alvez was enough to make you open the door; however, when he also added that he brought takeout, only made you open the door faster. He stood in your doorway, holding two bags of your favorite food. Tucking gun back into your waistband, you step aside and allow him entrance into the apartment. You the shut the door behind him, peeking quickly into the hall, before slamming it affirmatively shut. He had placed the takeout on the coffee table, the same place you had been sitting before, and sat down on the couch. You wasted no time, ripping into the bag and taking out the food that was inside. It must have been the numerous amount of times you have gotten takeout with him, because he brought your favorite Chinese food from the small shop downtown. Between chewing and bits of food, you thanked him, and merely returned a small but charming smile.

You would be lying you said you didn’t feel anything for him, since the quickening of your heart rate and your blushing face told a different story. At first you didn’t really understand why the interns in the office would constantly swoon in his presence, sure, he was fairly handsome but you couldn’t understand the underlying attraction. But, over the numerous of months that you had now worked with him, you could finally understand where the appeal lied—and Roxy was only icing on the cake. Yet, there was an unspoken rule about dating a co-worker, and you valued your job far too much to risk it on him; even if it meant you could look but never touch.

“So, do you want to talk about it?” his question had caught you off guard, and you looked at him with noodles dangling out of your mouth and your chopsticks in your hand. With a raised eyebrow, you set the container of food down on the table, and finished the noodles, covering your mouth with a napkin as you continued chewing. Judging from your quizzical expression, he elaborated. “You’ve been off for the past few weeks, I—we’ve been worried about you.”

“It’s nothing, just been feeling a bit down about something; don’t worry about it.”

“Come on,  I may still be the newbie; but in my defense, I think I’m still a pretty good profiler.”

Your expression softened as you finally looked him in his brown eyes, as you let out a small sigh. Despite having less experience than any other member of the team, you couldn’t repudiate the fact that he was a pretty damn good profiler. That was one of the many reasons you had fallen for him, that and the kind smile that was plastered on his face. Damn, as much as you wanted to tell someone about your troubles, you would feel selfish if it was him. There was a serial killer running around, quite possibly ready to take you as his next victim. All you wanted was to feel safe and secure, yet despite the detail and security placed around your room, you haven’t felt safe since months before. Yet, somehow in his presence, you didn’t have a care in the world. With his thigh pressed against your own as you sat on the couch, you wanted nothing more than to have him embrace you, and place your head on his chest; you wanted to know that everything was going to be all right, and that you didn’t have to be scared any longer. Instead, you glanced away, and leaned your head upon his shoulders.

You were testing the waters, seeing exactly how he responds. He made no sudden movements, his shoulder immediately going tense at your sudden display of affection, before relaxing once more. You took that as a good sign, and snuggled into his side, your eyelids beginning to grow heavy as his warmth and comfort began to overpower you. Yet, before you drifted off, you could vaguely remembered the mess you caused inside the apartment and the how he should probably head back to his own hotel room. But, before you could even move a muscle, a sturdy hand held you down, as you attempted to mumble something incoherently about Prentiss being suspicious and cleaning up the mess.

“Here, let me do the rest, and don’t worry we can talk in the morning.” He pushed you back down on the sofa, and you finally allowed exhaustion overcome you. Yet, before you truly fell asleep, you could feel something warm press against your forehead—and you can swear it lead to the best night of sleep you had in a long time.

Reggie & Betty (Bughead One Shot)

Summary: Jughead doesn’t like Betty’s new boyfriend and things escalate pretty fast. (Contains villain!Reggie)

☾ ☾ ☾

Jughead clenched his jaw as he stared at the blonde angel across the room from him. She was perched on the table talking to her best friend Veronica Lodge, sipping on a bottle of water and listening intently to what the raven-haired girl was saying, when he walked in. Her new boyfriend who had replaced Jughead. Reggie Mantle.

Jughead’s heart split in two the night that Betty had broken up with him. It had been a night of raised voices, and words he had regretted the minute they spilt out of his mouth like the Blossom’s sticky maple syrup.

It had been a month since the break up and Jughead was still as depressed as ever about the situation, not to mention madly in love. So when he found out that Reggie had made a pass at Betty, his first emotion was sadness, then anger. Surely Betty didn’t consent to this, Reggie was a disgusting guy, almost as foul as Chuck Clayton… Right? He was shocked when he found out the truth

{Flashback to a few days ago}

“Betty, are you okay?” Jughead asked hurriedly as he finally found her standing next to her locker, after what seemed hours of looking.

Betty stared into his chocolate eyes as confusion masked her face. They hadn’t talked since the breakup, so she was immensely shocked by the sudden interaction.

“What are you talking about, Jughead?” Betty inquired.

The beanie boy swallowed, “I heard Veronica talking to Archie about you and Reggie, apparently he kissed you? I must have gotten the wrong end of the stick.”.

Betty sighed audibly, “no, you heard correctly.” Jughead raised his eyebrows with surprise.

“What the hell Betty? You do realise he’s a jerk. He’s constantly barged into me and called me stupid names ever since we started this crappy school!” Betty didn’t meet his eyes, and so Jughead thought of the worst.

“Bets, did… did he force himself on you?!”. Betty shushed him.

“Of course he didn’t! Could you keep it down?” There were multiple people walking past and noticing their conversation. “Look Jug, he’s not like that anymore. He’s not the same Reggie who pushed you in the corridors or gave you those immature labels. He likes me for me, he’s a good guy.”

“But Bets-” The boy tried interjecting but she quickly followed suit.

“No Jughead, you don’t get to be involved with my private life anymore, there’s no ‘us’ now, and you need to let it go.” And with that the bell began ringing and she walked away, leaving the heartbroken male to mumble under his breath,

“but I still love you.”

{End of flashback}

Reggie walked up to the two girls and gave Betty a flashing smile before leaning in and roughly kissing her. Veronica stood there awkwardly, and Jughead’s insides flipped over uncomfortably as he watched the scene unfold.

Betty pulled away slightly red in the face, “watch out there Reg” she nervously giggled.

“What’s the matter babe?” He questioned, curiously.

“Well I was having a conversation with V, and well, you kinda interrupted her.”

Reggie frowned at the blonde, “what, you don’t like me anymore, you’re not into me?”

“No!” Betty quickly added, “I like you a lot it’s just, well, PDA can make some people uncomfortable.” She added the last bit quietly so to not embarrass the boy.

As Betty hopped down from the table, the dark haired male spoke up.

“Whatever you say babe,” Reggie smirked slyly and patted her bottom. She jumped a bit but let it go. It made Jughead’s blood boil.

Throughout the rest of their free period, Jughead sat pretending to be working on his novel and watched Betty squirm underneath Reggie’s inappropriate touches. He felt as if his jaw would fall off with all the clenching it was doing. Betty was Reggie’s girlfriend now, but Jughead knew this wasn’t okay, especially since Betty kept making a point that she wanted him to stop. Reggie would just laugh and tighten his embrace around her waist, his hand brushing her breast. The final straw was when he pulled her onto his lap, placing his hand upon her thigh and began working it’s way up.

“Reggie, stop!” Betty yelled, standing abruptly.

“Why?” Reggie yelled back, standing also and gripping her upper arm so they were facing each other. Jughead shot up from his seat, anger coursing through his veins. Reggie noticed him.

“Oh I see, it’s because of Wednesday Addams over there, right?”

Betty frowned, “What? No, you’re just making me feel uncomfortable, Reg. If this is how it’s gonna be then I can’t be your girlfriend!”

Reggie’s face reddened, he seemed hurt at first but then fury took over.

“No! This is because of him!” He pointed an accusing finger at the beanie-clad teen, “I saw you the other day.”

Realisation hit Betty’s face, “Reg, that was nothing. We were just talking!”

Reggie held her tighter as she squeaked in pain, and Jughead took this as his queue to rush in.

“Get off her,” he tried helping Betty.

“What? You’re not gonna be the reason we break up, Donny Darko.”

Betty spoke up, “yeah, he’s not. You are. I can’t be with you like this Reg, I’m sorry.”

And with that Reggie slammed the girl into the wall behind.

It happened so quick. One minute Jughead was watching his beautiful, compassionate Betty being slammed into a concrete wall, the next his fist was coming in contact with Reggie’s face. As soon as Reggie realised what happened he had jumped onto Jughead like he was the only punching bag in the gym. Betty tried screaming at Reggie for him to stop but he didn’t.

Eventually Reggie was pulled off of the boy and sent to the principal’s office.

Jughead and Betty sat opposite each other as Betty dabbed the cuts on Jughead’s face with cotton and alcohol.

They sat in awkward silence until Betty sniffed, “you better not say 'I told you so’”

Jughead met her eyes, they were shiny but she wasn’t quite crying. “Betty.” She kept her eyes on his busted lip.

“Look at me Bets.” When she finally looked into his eyes he searched hers, giving her a convincing and caring look.

“I would never say that to you,” he placed his bruised hand upon her smooth, pale one. She gave him a small smile.

“I’m sorry he did this to you.”

“Hey,” his hand moved to cup her cheek, “it’s not your fault, okay?” She hesitantly nodded as he waited for some reassurance.

“Anyway, you should have known I would have got involved. Like I said I’m a lover and a fighter.” She giggled at him, for the first time in a long time.

They would be okay. They could be friends. And maybe, sooner than they thought, they’d finally get together again. Betty and Jughead. Bughead.

Chapter 27

Back to Rachel, who is currently a very bemused elephant sitting on top of a pile of cracked concrete where the road broke underneath her when the Veleek dropped her the foot or so it had managed to lift her up.  Some combination of the hard drop, watching the Veleek take off after a half-tiger-half-boy being carted off in a truck, and the human girl left behind, seems to trigger a bunch of memories/flashbacks all at once.

Rachel remembers that she was flying as a bird to go see someone named Tobias, and she sort of kind of remembers Cassie but isn’t sure if she’s friend or foe.  Rachel being Rachel even when she’s missing most of her memory, her solution to this is to tell Cassie to identify herself quickly or get crushed.

Cassie is fairly undisturbed by this because, you know, Rachel’s gonna Rachel, in any form, in all universes.  Somewhere there are probably a dozen coffee shop AU fics where Rachel crushes an espresso machine because it’s having some sort of minor mechanical issue.

Back in this universe, Cassie’s concerned about Rachel’s memory loss but mostly she’s just like: take some deep breaths, it’s gonna be okay, you’re an Animorph and I don’t know why you lost your memory but if you trust me I will try to help you out.

Rachel’s still kind iffy on the whole situation but she recognizes the word “Animorph” from her dream and also let’s be real, she was not doing super-great on her own so some help might be nice.  She asks Cassie what she should do.

Awwwwww. Friendship!

Chapter 28

Ax time!  Ax is being held captive in a box.  A Ramonite box, which he says like we’re supposed to know it means a Bad Thing, so I suppose we’ll maybe learn more about that at some point.

He stews away in his box thinking about how he’s dishonored himself because his culture requires him to avenge his Alienstag brother’s death, and he failed to do so when face to face with Visser Three.  He supposes that his youth and being surrounded by tons of Hork-Bajir might be mitigating factors, and he can’t think of a way he could have come out on top if he’d attacked, but none of that is helping with how crappy he feels about the whole situation.

He gets some distraction when one wall of his box suddenly becomes clear. Apparently Ramonite is the name for the metal all the alien ships seem to be made out of, which can be molecularly rearranged to become clear or open up on command.  Visser Three’s pet Veleek is hot on the trail of another “Andalite” and he’s decided maybe Ax would like to enjoy watching a hologram of the Veleek’s chase with him.

So now we get ot watch the Veleek chasing Tiger-Jake.  Actual Cat Lady V3 takes a moment to praise the tiger’s magnificence because of course he does. Then they watch as the Veleek chases Jake up the tree, knocks him out of the tree, and prepares to swarm over him - only to suddenly get distracted and fly away.  Marco’s morphing somewhere else, I assume.

V3 is pretty unhappy and threatens to stab a dude through the neck unless the dude can explain what is going on and why his Veleek didn’t bring Jake in.  Said dude speculates more or less what’s actually happened - another morpher somewhere has distracted it, and the Veleek isn’t smart/trained enough to keep after a prey that’s stopped morphing, if it detects newer morphing energy somewhere else.  Basically the Veleek is a half-trained puppy and V3 should double down on his clicker training if he wants to get the job done.

V3 doesn’t stab that guy, but then he does end up stabbing a Taxxon who complains when V3 tells it to keep tracking the Veleek.  Apparently keeping a visual lock on a sentient and easily distracted dust puppy is not  easy. Apparently V3 doesn’t care. And now there’s a pile of Taxxon innards being gooey on the floor.  Some of the other Taxxons come to eat the dead Taxxon because that’s how Taxxons roll, I guess, and everyone else gets to working very hard and not making eye contact with V3.

Ax pipes up to point out that V3’s Veleek kind of sucks at actually catching anyone.  V3 is just: yeah, you got me, apparently I did not think my clever plan all the way through.  But I have Andalite morphing power too so I know morphers’ weaknesses and I’m about to turn the difficulty level up here.  Also it would be nice to catch your friends alive but if I have to take them in dead instead I’ll make do, so don’t get too sassy, baby Andalite.

Basically we’ve just done the thing in Labyrinth where Sarah is all “your labyrinth is a piece of cake” and David Bowie a.k.a. Jareth The Goblin King a.k.a. The Source Of All My Feelings About Men In Eyeliner is all “okay, look, if you want to see what it looks like when I’m actually trying to piss you off, we can do that,” and turns everything up to eleven.

No one on this ship is happy.

Chapter 29

Can we just retitle this book Marco’s Terrible Ideas now?

Because we’re back with Marco and he’s continuing to make terrible life choices. In this case, he’s managed to steer the truck back onto the road and it’s about time for him to start morphing, so he decides to use his only morph that can drive - the gorilla.

He’s going to try to drive. While morphing into a gorilla.

Marco, NO.

(Marco, yes.)

So onward he goes, driving through a suburb, slamming his gorilla foot down on the accelerator as he hears the roaring sound of the Veleek heading his way.

This is fine. Everything is fine.

Third P.O.V

(Y/n) ran down the corridor, her heart beat loud as it matched the rhythm of her footsteps. She heard the cry come from around the corner, only forcing her body to push harder. She wasn’t sure if it was a cry of joy or a cry of pain. Right now, they sounded too similar to bring a distinction between the two. As she turned the corner, (Y/n) gripped onto the wall for some sort of balance, her hands and palms sweaty from running away from the Oni. When they stopped following her, she knew something was up, something was wrong. Running down the corridor, she heard Scott cry out.

Taking the corner quickly, she came to a complete stop when her eyes fell on a body that she desperately missed, the body of boy she was trying to save for what felt like forever. Stiles.. Gasping, the packs attention turned over to her. More importantly, Stiles’ attention. In that moment, it was just the two of them. It was as if time and everything around them had completely frozen. “Stiles..?” She said softly, so soft, it was almost inaudible. However, Stiles heard it loud and clear. The sound was music to his ears. Stiles forced himself up, muttering. “(Y/n)..?” They said each others names in a questioning manor, as if what they saw right in front of them was a dream, too good to be real.

She picked up her pace, almost aching to touch him, to make sure that it wasn’t a dream. (Y/n) walked faster, tripping on her feet as she pushed herself further. But the minute they reached one another, it was like a gasp of fresh air. “You’re real.. You’re real..” Stiles seemed to mutter, like a strange mantra, never wanting to let go. She openly cried onto his shoulder, burring her face into the crook of his neck. They just stood their for a few minutes, minutes that felt like hours, completely content wrapped in one another’s arms. She could believe he was back. Maybe that’s why she couldn’t possibly let go. The thought of letting go seems absolutely ridiculous. If she did, he’d be gone again, ripped out of her grasp completely.

Your P.O.V

“(Y/N)?!” Stiles shouted into my ear. Ouch, that was one hell of a way to grab my attention. Rubbing my ears, I glance back at him. “What, Stiles?” He shook his head at me, smiling softly. “Where have you been for the last two minutes? Roscoe died…again. C’mon, help me fix it. You know where the duck tape is. Can you grab it for me?” I nod, hopping out of the vehicle to follow his instructions. As he pops the hood of the car, I take a step back, watching the scene unfold in front of my eyes. I remember this moment, playing in my mind one-hundred different times, at least. Stiles huffing angrily over his crappy car that he loves despite its constant death and revival before we end up giving up to sit on the hood and talk until we couldn’t talk no more.

I watch as Stiles rips off his flannel, sweating more than he probably should. I can’t help but smile at little at the sight. It scared me to think that I had totally forgotten these little moments with him. The moments I cherished the most. Without Stiles, I wouldn’t be who I am today. It hurt when he was gone. It felt like someone had ripped a hole into my heart and torn me to shreds. Looking at him now, it felt like everything had moved back into place. Back into where it should have always been. When Stiles looked back at me, I nearly died at the sight. His smile, the one I’ve loved and missed forever. “(Y/n), what’s wrong?” It hadn’t occurred to me that when he turned to grin at me, I didn’t reciprocate the same expression. Instead, my face turned into bit of a scowl.

He tossed the rag back onto the engine, ignoring his car troubles to walk over to me. Wrapping his massive calloused hands with mine, my hands shook at the reminder that he was real. The thought of never being able to feel his touch again made my heart weak with pain. He whispered again, his hazel eyes meeting mine. “What’s wrong, (Y/n)? Please talk to me.” When I look up at him, I can’t help but grin. “I missed you so much.. When my memories were taken, it wasn’t just my memories that were snatched from me.. They took a piece of me. They took you away. Stiles, you mean the world to me. When I forgot about you, I felt like my world was just bland and grey. Everything we learned from one another seemed to have left me.. I felt cold.. Like I was missing the most important part of my life..

Wherever I went, I felt like there should have been someone there with me, crying or laughing by my side. But when there wasn’t, I felt so god damn alone. I felt like I was going crazy. Whenever I made a joke with Scott and you weren’t there, I was expecting someone to laugh with me. I was expecting you to laugh. But when you didn’t, when there was nothing but silence, when I couldn’t hear your contagious giggle, I felt completely empty. I am beyond happy that you’re back. I feel whole again. I’m just… I’m so petrified of losing you again..” As I finish, Stiles wraps his long muscular arms around me. Another thing I completely forgot about was how much bigger he had gotten due to lacrosse. His body was warm and his smell was intoxicating.

Kissing my head, I felt a drop of water fall onto my head. Stiles’ tears. “(Y/n), I missed you too. Not being able to laugh with you, not being able to hold you or talk to you has been the hardest thing in the world. But I am here-” He says, taking my hand to rest on his heart. “I am real. And I swear to you that I’m not going anywhere. Never again will I leave you. I promise. And if I do leave for a short time, I will always make my way back to you. Ya know why?” I shake my head, letting him continue. “Because you’re my home. And no matter what, I will always come home to you.” I cry into his shirt, unable to withhold my happiness. He brings me closer to him, resting his chin atop of my head. I whisper into his chest, smiling softly. “I’m so glad you’re back..”

(I hope you liked it!!)

Gruvia AU - Strangers: Chapter 4

That day Juvia allowed herself to wake up later than usual. The bluenet sat on the bed with a defeated look and absentmindedly ran a hand through her messy hair as she tried to recover from the feelings that one of her dreams brought. She had dreamed of Gray, of course. It was incredible how he could always be so present in her life that he invaded her unconscious.

The woman had dreamed about the day she and the dark haired man were trapped in the elevator of Lucy’s building after the blonde’s big birthday party. He offered her a ride when he was leaving, and then they got stuck in the big glass box for almost an hour.

Flashback On

“You didn’t look very excited today. Something happened?” Gray said after they both sat side by side on the floor.

“It’s nothing.”

“I’ve known you for some time. I know when you’re lying.” He shrugged. “But you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.”

“It’s a full year now that Juvia is living in Magnolia.” Juvia whispered after a few seconds.

“This is bad?”

“In a way, yes.” The bluish one smiled when the man looked away from her face, clearly annoyed by her response. “It wasn’t bad to meet Gray-sama. Please don’t misunderstand.” She lightly bumped her shoulder on his and laughed softly, making him a little flushed.

“That’s not what I was thinking!”

“Juvia made incredible friends and is very happy here.”

“But?” Gray looked at her again, confused.

“Two days ago was the death anniversary of Juvia’s uncle.” She said with a sad sigh. “Juvia told you about him.”

“Just a little. The house where you live today was his, right?”

“Yes. Juvia remembers coming to see him all the time when she was little; he would always pick her up at the train station, and then we’d stay on the beach longer than inside his house.” Juvia felt nostalgic as she remembered those moments. “When Juvia’s adoptive parents moved away, after a few years, these visits became rarer and rarer. When Juvia finished her studies, she got a job and began working for an independent life. When Juvia went back to visit him, he was already sick. ” She paused in her little monologue. “He passed away and left the house to Juvia because she was the only one who loved the sea as much as he did.” A few tears formed in the corner of her eyes.

“I’m sorry, Juvia…” Gray pulled her into a hug, and the bluenet laid her head on his shoulder.

Flashback Off

They almost kissed for the first time on that same day, but before it happened the elevator suddenly started to work again and only then they realized the proximity of their faces and what was about to happen. Gray’s eyes widened and he was the first to get up, trying his best to hide the blush on his cheeks.

Concentrated on her atelier, working with the sewing machine on some fabrics and listening to some songs from a CD that Gajeel had lent her, Juvia kept herself busy for most of the morning. As she was about to finalize some details of the dress of one of her best clients, the doorbell and her dog’s barking stopped her.

‘Maybe a break is not so bad.’ The bluenet thought as she walked to the front door. She peeked through the magical eye and a big smile formed on her lips.

“Oh my God! Juvia can’t believe it!” She fumbled with the keys, but managed to open the door in a hurry. “Meredy!”

The pink haired girl also had a huge smile on her face. She was always traveling - for work and also fun - and they didn’t see each other so often anymore.

“Juvia!” Meredy said cheerfully and hugged her best fiend tightly.

“Why didn’t you tell Juvia you were in town?”

“I arrived at the hotel last night, and I thought it would for the best to come personally and make a surprise.” She shrugged and then spotted the bluenet’s dog in the room, wagging his tail quickly and looking at her expectantly. It took a second for Meredy to run to the animal and begin to pet him. “Aw, dear! You grew up! I missed you so much. Is your mother taking good care of you?”

“Come in, please.” Juvia giggled. Those two sure suited each other very well. “So how was the trip? Juvia saw the photos on your facebook and found the place amazing!”

“First of all, I want to know about you, Ju. How are you?” Meredy returned her attention to her friend, looking at her with sadness.

“Oh.. Juvia is fine.” She spoke softly as she stared at the floor.

“I will pretend to believe you.” The pink haired girl let out a heavy sigh and hugged her friend once more. “I’m sorry I wasn’t around. I’m a really bad friend.”

“Of course not.” Juvia answered honestly. “You’re here now, and that’s what matters.”

“What do you want to do? We could eat junk food all day and watch some really crappy movie as we talk about how Gray is an idiot.”

“Juvia gained six pounds, so I think she’ll pass.” The bluenet smiled.

“Hm…” The other girl thought for a moment. “We could have lunch in a nice place, then. What do you think?”

“That might be a good idea.” Juvia smiled anxiously at her friend.

While they were having lunch, Meredy told Juvia about her last trip to Juvia, while the bluenet told her about being separated from Gray.

“Please tell me you’re still going to Italy.” The pink haired woman said, looking at her seriously.

“Juvia doesn’t know, Mer.” She let out a long sigh. “Nothing seems right, now.”

“But it’s an incredible opportunity and-”

“Why don’t you tell Juvia about that urgent thing? Juvia is very curious.” Juvia changed the subject.

“That talk doesn’t end here, young lady.” She narrowed her eyes at the bluenet. “What I wanted to tell you is that… Lyon and I are going to a date. A real one.”

“You what?!” Juvia almost screamed in the restaurant, catching the attention of almost everyone.

“Ju, it’s not that difficult to believe.” Meredy struggled not to roll her eyes at her friend’s exaggeration.

“So you’re… Hm… Almost dating?”

“No! We’re just exchanging messages.” The girl blushed a little at the word 'dating.’

“Juvia doesn’t even know what to say.” Juvia laughed softly. “You and Lyon? That’s great!”

“Nothing is happening.”

“But I have to admit that he is very cute.”

“And what else? Tell everything to Juvia.”

“There is not much to tell.” Meredy shrugged. “We were always meeting at your house or Gray’s apartment because of some commemorative dates, so one day he asked for my number and… We’ve been talking to each other for a few months now.”

“Why didn’t you say anything before?” The bluenet asked curiously.

“Because it didn’t look like anything was going to happen before. BUT-” She emphasized the word. “When I was traveling, he started flirting a lot and I liked it. Really liked it.” She whispered with a wicked grin. “Then I started flirting with him, too.”

“Juvia is happy for you.” Juvia spoke with a big, genuine smile on her face.

“Let’s let things happen naturally!” The pink haired girl spoke excitedly, with an anxious smile. “Maybe we should start sending nudes to each other.”

“What?!” They both laughed.

In the afternoon, Juvia accompanied Meredy to the hotel where the pink haired girl was staying, and then returned to her own house. She took Cho for a walk, and when she returned, she turned her attention to the incomplete work in the atelier. It was not long before the dress was ready - all it needed was a few details - and then the bluenet needed a new distraction. Luckily, she remembered a book Levy lent her and read it until she slept on the couch.

When it was dark outside, Juvia was still asleep in the living room - until her cell phone started ringing. She took it without even looking at the name in the display and answered with a sleepy voice:

“Hey Juvia! It’s Lyon.”

“Oh, Lyon!” She sat down and ran her hand over her face, trying to be more awake. “How are you?”

“I am fine.” He gave a nervous laugh. “I need your help. Can we meet?”

“Of course. Did something happen?”

“E-Er… More or less.”

“Where can Juvia find you?”

Juvia entered a diner in a search of the white haired man, finding him seated at a table by the window. He looks very nervous, tapping his foot and drumming his fingers on the table. She walked in his direction and sat down in front of him.

“You came!” He spoke in relief.

“Of course Juvia came. She’s here to help.”

“So… I… Hm… It’s about your friend. Meredy.”

“Meredy, huh?” Juvia opened a big smile and placed two hands under her chin. When the man blushed, she let out a amused laugh. “What about her?”

“I asked her out.” He spoke quietly.

“Really ?!” The bluenet pretended to be surprised. “And how exactly can Juvia help you with that?”

“Could you give me some advice? You know her well and-”

“Juvia will love it!”

“Thank you, Juvia!” He took her hand and offered a sincere smile.

After taking Juvia to her house, Lyon thanked her again for the help, said goodbye and then left.

She took a long shower, prepared to sleep, and when she was lying on her bed, her cell phone began to ring again that day.

'Is it Lyon again?’ She thought, answering immediately.

Kyungsoo Pathcode Explanation

This is going to be quite lengthy so please bear with me. Also please excuse my crappy screenshots and handmade charts, my computer has been acting up and I am about out of patience.

Disclaimer: These are just my thoughts and opinions, they are not official or confirmed by SM or anything. I didn’t get a chance to read other people’s theories yet, so sorry if I’m being repetitive!

You might want to read this post first to get a basic understanding of what’s going on so far. There’s a summary at the very bottom of this post if you don’t wanna read the whole thing!

So, at first, I was really confused and discouraged by Kyungsoo’s teaser, because it disproved my ring theory and didn’t seem to give any clues. (I guess the rings were just random?). Also, I predicted Chicago, 10:01. I guess it’s possible that in Suho’s teaser the voice said “Meet me in Colorado” not Chicago. I went back and listened and still couldn’t tell. It doesn’t really matter because we know it’s Colorado now. I was right about the time being the same as Kai’s (09:01 in Colorado is 15:01 in London). Which got me thinking about the chronological order of the events in the teasers.

First, I converted all of the times to Colorado time.

Then, I put them in order in 3 different ways: 1) as if all of the events happened before Kyungsoo’s teaser and he’s having flashbacks 2) as if everything happens after Kyungsoo’s teaser begins and 3) as if everything happens on the same day.

(The red lines represent the day changing).

(Keep in mind that this only represents the beginning of each teaser. Since time passes in every teaser, plus everything is dream-like and unreal, it can be assumed that events overlap.)

I decided to stick with the third column - kind of. Here’s why: Kyungsoo wears 3 different outfits, so we can assume that it’s been more than one day. My guess is that the first day is when he’s in the car, with the black outfit, when he first gets to Colorado. The second day is when he’s in the red shirt, and he’s all frantic and worried and we see those flashes of the other members. The third day is when he’s in the black shirt with the blue stripe, playing with the marbles, just waiting for the others.

I’ve come up with this order for the events as if Kyungsoo’s teaser is over 3 days. Again, I kind of just made this up based on my own personal theories, and whether it’s true or not doesn’t really make a difference.

Day 1 (black outfit Kyungsoo)

  • Kyungsoo (09:01, Kyungsoo arrives in Colorado)
  • Kai (09:01)

Day 2 (red shirt Kyungsoo)

  • Tao (03:10)
  • Suho (03:22)
  • Chen (08:01)
  • Lay (08:12)
  • Sehun (9:25)
  • Chanyeol (18:12)
  • Xiumin (22:07)
  • Baekhyun (23:27)

Day 3 (blue outfit Kyungsoo)

  • Kyungsoo waiting for the other members.

I hope this makes sense. Remember that all of these times are in Colorado time. It’s really confusing to think about. Just imagine that you are Kyungsoo, you’re in Colorado, and throughout the day all these events are taking place all over the world.

Technically Kai’s could also happen on the second day, but with the whole “Beginning=End” thing, I think his happened simultaneously with Kyungsoo’s. Also, I think Kai has a really important role to play in this whole Exodus because with his teleportation, he’s the only one who can travel between the two worlds. (As we saw in the MAMA mv when he teleported to Luhan).

1. the 3 outfits (duh).
2. Kyungsoo wakes up on the third day, we see the sun entering the room. The sun rises way before 09:01am. (no, it’s not the eclipse!!)

3. Speaking of the eclipse, if the first or second column were true, it would mean Sehun and Chen saw the eclipse almost 24 hours apart. No way. I know this isn’t real life, but logically, Chen should see the eclipse first, then Sehun soon after. (*more on the eclipse later*).
4. When he’s in the red shirt, he sees flashing images of what’s happening to the other members.

5. When he’s in the blue/black shirt, he sort of gazes wistfully at all these images that represent the members’ powers. This suggests that he’s remembering the things that happened the day before. He’s sad or worried, because he already escaped the maze and is in their meeting place, but the others haven’t gotten there yet. (”Meet me in Colorado”)

The images are:

  • a flame for Chanyeol
  • the train from Kai’s teaser
  • plants for Lay
  • Xiumin’s headphones
  • light for Baekhyun
  • a clock for Tao (it reads 10:10, which was also the time of Tao’s teaser!)
  • sparks for Chen
  • a cloth blowing in the wind for Sehun
  • and water droplets for Suho

(I also have a theory that he sent a message to Kai on the first day, then Kai teleported to meet him, and he’s using Kai to send messages to the others. But I’m still working on that.)

All in all, no matter what order the events took place in, we know for sure that we’re seeing Kyungsoo after the fact, he’s escaped the maze already and he is having flashbacks of what happened to them, and he is waiting for them.

THAT BEING SAID, we are still left with some questions. Let’s begin.

First, why Kyungsoo? Well, his power is earth/strength. You can basically think of him as Mother Nature or something. What connects all of these locations together? Earth. Clearly, Kyungsoo escaped the maze first, and he has a big role to play in reuniting the members. He has the marbles in his teaser, which shows he is strong and in control. It’s even possible that he is some sort of all-powerful or all-knowing entity. (More evidence on this later).

And why Colorado? Well in real life, the location has no significance. (Other than to complete the “Call Me Baby” acronym). But the teasers gives us one reason in particular why they all have to meet in this location: the Tree of Life.

According to the MAMA legend, the tree was split in half, to create two worlds, and it was dried up by the red force. Here is the other half of the tree, with Chen in the MAMA video:

(Idk if that’s legit haha, I just thought it was a little bit too coincidental, especially considering Chen and D.O. are counterparts in their separate worlds).

And what is the point of this ENTIRE STORY?? To reunite the legends and bring the two worlds back together, to restore the Tree of Life and create a new beginning. Honestly, I don’t think that will happen in this comeback. Because if it did, that would be the end, and they wouldn’t have any of the story left to use for future comebacks haha. I think since this album is called EXODUS, it’s just the story of how they escape the maze, and maybe reunite.

Now, going back to the MAMA narration, it mentions one turning point that will set this whole thing in motion. What is the turning point? “The day the grounds be kept a single file before one sky.” Meaning, when all the planets align.

See, in my last post, I was confused because we saw a solar eclipse AND a full moon. You can’t have both at the same time, because a solar eclipse requires a new moon - it happens when the moon is between the sun and the earth, so the dark side of the moon is towards the earth. But then, rewatching the MAMA mv, I realized something: it’s not the moon that’s creating the eclipse. It’s this huge planet that’s between the sun and what we assume is the earth!

If you rewatch the MAMA mv, you will understand what I’m talking about!! (Also, I realize that in real life that planet would be Mercury, but this is clearly not real life hahaha. I’m just guessing that Earth is in the same place because if you look closely you can see a continent on there.) So you see, the planets are aligning.

Then, as I continued watching, I noticed something else. As we zoom out, someone’s symbol appears…

…who could it be…?

…is that…

…why yes it is!! It’s Kyungsoo’s symbol! The beast, strength, power, earth… this is no coincidence! Although the other members’ powers are important, clearly it will be Kyungsoo’s job to bring all the members together. I have other ideas as well - for example, we will need Yixing’s power of healing to restore the Tree of Life. However, we’re not quite there yet.

Anyway, the video continues and the rest of the symbols join Kyungsoo’s.

Similarly, in the Overdose MV, Kyungsoo receives a box full of dirt, which seems to be a hint of some sort, only meant for him. It once again shows that he has more power than the other members. In Kai’s teaser, we see a flashback of this moment:

Alright, now back to Kyungsoo’s teaser. I’ve explained everything I can so far. But, there are still 3 things I’d like to mention real quick that I was not sure on.

First, this image:

It’s a storm, obviously. It could either represent a) the “red force” that destroyed the tree of life. It’s ominous, showing that there is still danger. or b) it represents a combination of the members’ powers (wind, lightning, etc.) showing that they will come together. Any ideas?

Second, this image:

I didn’t spend too much time on this cuz it really creeped me out. It’s from underwater, you can see a light, but there’s a shape in front of the light. That shape could represent the red force. The combination of water and light could also represent Lay, because as we learned, water + light = healing. If anyone knows what this was please tell me cuz it’s freaky haha.

Lastly, the marbles. Some said that the rows of 6 and 4 meant that Exo-K and Exo-M will stay the same. However, I don’t think so, because for one thing, the marbles are in different formations throughout the teaser:

For another, Kyungsoo messes up the marbles at the end:

It’s almost as if he’s saying they won’t stay in groups of 4 and 6 because they’ll all be reunited! Or maybe he’s just playing around with the marbles and they don’t mean anything! Haha idk, I’m tired and hungry and I’ve been thinking about this for too long and changed my theory like 5 different times.

Kyungsoo’s teaser happens over 3 days. Day 1: He arrives in Colorado (escaped from the maze). Kai is notified. Day 2: The other members are notified and realize their powers. Kyungsoo receives flashes of their events. Day 3: Kyungsoo reflects and waits for the other members. Their goal is to restore the tree of life. It is prophesied that the members will reunite when the planets are aligned, a.k.a. the Eclipse. It is Kyungsoo’s duty to reunite all of the members and bring them to one location. In Overdose, the members entered the maze and made their ways to the center. Now, they must realize their powers and escape the maze - it’s their “EXODUS.”

Hope you all enjoyed reading! Hopefully it made sense and helped you understand better. Even if SM releases an explanation that doesn’t match up with this, I’m sticking by my analysis. To me this makes sense logically, and we all know SM logic isn’t really logic anyway XP

Waking Up

Written for @mysteriouslyme81‘s Supernatural Music 2016/17 Challenge . My song was Amnesia by Guy Sebastion, click here for the video

Word Count: 2280 (with lyrics)

Warnings: Language, Sam being an ass, Dean being concerned (really a warning?) Drinking

Italics are song lyrics

A/N: This is my first attempt at writing Sam, so any feedback is greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

It has been 5 months, 18 days and 9 hours since I walked out of Sam Winchester’s life. I loved him, I truly did, but he shut me out of his life completely. I had been with the Winchesters for three years. I had became best friends with both brothers quickly. Dean was always the overly protective older brother. But Sam. Sam Winchester was a force to be reckoned with in every sense.

He was my best friend, my confidant. He was the one I went to when Dean was too hard on me. He was the one I shared an exciting piece of lore with, or a new book I found at the library for free reading. Slowly, Sam became more. He didn’t have the walls built around him like Dean had, but he hid behind his thoughts, his intellect.

I had given my heart and soul to Sam from the beginning, but I had  to wait for him to catch up. He was a very bright man, but he could also be very dense. The Winchesters were very guarded when it came to their emotions, and to love, well that was an entirely different hurdle. Neither of them think they deserved love so when it stared them in the face, they were not always quick to recognize it. Sometimes, they just need a kick in the pants and that was exactly how it happened.

Happy Holidays from Fearless Records!

One-shot based off the almost-kiss from the Happy Holidays video on Fearless Records’ YouTube channel. Kind short, but still good. Hope you appreciate it! Happy Holidays!

-Jaime’s POV-

“Dad! Dad, Dad, Daddy!” I hear my sixteen-year-old daughter Cara call me from her spot on the couch. “Come look what I found!”

I walk out to her from my place in the kitchen, and see her looking at and old photo album which was titled “Vic and Jaime: 2013-2014."

"Where in the world did you find that?” I laugh gently, shocked that she was going through mine and Vic’s stuff.

Her face immediately drops to a frown. “Well, I was laying on the ground texting my friend, and when I looked over, this book was underneath the coffee table. I’m sorry if I wasn’t supposed to see it.” Cara stares at her hands, which are still holding the book in her lap.

I walk over to her and wrap her in my arms to comfort her. “Oh honey, it’s okay! I just didn’t know where you got it from. I wasn’t sure if you were going through mine and Papa’s stuff or not. It’s okay that you looked at it, I promise.” I smile at her and she looks up at me.

“Okay. I just wanted to show you a picture of you and Papa I found. It looks like it was from Christmas.” She pulls the picture out of it’s spot and studies it. It’s a photo of Vic and I from when we first came out to everyone. That was perhaps the happiest day of my life.

Cara turns the photo around and begins to read the back of it. Words are written in blue ink. "It says, ‘Jaime and Vic- Christmas 2013: The day we got together.’“ She stutters out, (Bad handwriting on my part!) then looks up from the photo.

"Dad, will you tell me about the day you and Papa got together?” Her face beams with a smile.

I laugh quietly at her eagerness and respond. “Of course mija. Get comfortable, because it’s kind of a long story. And don’t tell Papa I’m telling you this. We promised each other we wouldn’t ever tell you this story. At least until you have a husband too.”

“Promise Daddy!” She giggles and lays down on her back, legs hanging of the arm rest and head in her hands.

“Okay,” I sigh, “I guess I should start from the day we filmed the 'Happy Holidays’ video for the record label.”

—-Flashback Time!—-

“Hey Hime!” I hear Vic yell to me from downstairs.

“Hey Vic!” I yell back.

He walks into the game room upstairs with a gaudy Christmas sweater and scarf on and burgundy beanie on his head. God he looks so adorable. “Fearless wants us to do a 'happy holidays’ message from the label. And ad-lib some other stuff about the band’s news for 2014. Wanna join me?” He holds up a sleeveless, equally-as-gaudy Christmas vest and Santa hat to me and smiles cheekily.

I laugh loudly at the sight of the vest, and say “Of course! Who doesn’t love a crappy Christmas video every once in awhile?” I throw the ugly sweater over my grey tank top and put the Santa hat strategically on my head, as not to mess up my hair. I then follow Vic downstairs to the living room where the Christmas tree is lit up, six stockings were hung by the chimney with care (See what I did there?), and two glasses of white wine are on the coffee table.

“So who’s gonna film this?” I ask Vic. Just then, Mike comes walking into the living room from the bathroom and Vic points at him. “Okay, well, what exactly are we gonna say?” I question.

Vic shrugs. “I don’t know. Just say something along the lines of 'Happy holidays from Fearless Records,’ then something about the band coming out with a new album next year, and then it’s done. The exec didn’t really say anything specific. We can screw around if we want. That’s why I’m going all out with holiday festivities.” He points to the Christmas scene in front of us and our shirts.

I smile devilishly. “Well if we can screw around, why not fuck with the Fuenciado shippers? I mean, it’s a great holiday gift! At the end of the video, we’ll just come in really close and look like we’re going to kiss, but then end the video before they see us actually kiss.”

“That would be great!” He laughs. Little did he know that I really did want to kiss him. I mean, my feelings about him were getting stronger every day. It’s sad he hasn’t noticed the way I’ve been acting towards him lately. Almost like he’s ignoring them. Anyways, back to the matter at hand.

“Well, why don’t we get this shit started then! I wanna get back to doing absolutely nothing.” Mike says to break the silence. Vic and I grab our glasses and Vic picks up his dog and we stand in front of the Christmas tree.

“Ready?” Mike asks while turning the camera on.

“Ready whenever you are.” I sigh out. I’m just ready to get this done. Every bad thing possible is running through my mind at this moment. I’m probably gonna blush when we fake-kiss, and Vic’s gonna notice and everything will just fuck up.

“Okay,” Mike starts, “Lights, camera, action!” He presses the “Record” button on the camera, and a little red light turns on.

Vic starts fake laughing, so I join in, as if we just heard a hilarious joke. I start with the talking, “Oh, hey! Didn’t see you there! I’m Jaime.”

“And I’m Vic, from Pierce The Veil.”

“Just wanting to say 'Happy Holidays!’”

Vic raises his glass in the air. "Thanks to a lot of fans for a great year. In 2014 we have a brand new album coming out; Cheers to that Jaime.“ We clink glasses and I laugh again. "Merry Christmas.” Vic says with an adorable smile.

“And a happy new year.” I laugh. We look at each other and I feel time stop.

This is it. Vic’s finally gonna understand how I feel toward him. Holy fuck, we’re gonna kiss. Oh my god, we’re not actually gonna kiss, but it’ll be real enough for me. God, I sound like one of our fangirls. AAAH, he’s leaning in. Here goes nothing.

I go to wrap my arm around his neck, and lean in towards him. Our faces are mere centimeters away, and Mike says “Cut! Print!"

Vic pulls away, and I feel my entire being drop. So fucking close to kissing him, and Mike has to ruin it.

Mike pulls the camera off the tripod and takes it into the kitchen to put the video on his laptop and edit it and send it to the label. Here’s my chance to talk to Vic.

I follow him to his bedroom and close the door. He looks at me with a confused face, and I point at the bed as if to tell him to sit down. He does so, and I start pacing the floor in front of him.

"Vic,” I start, “I-I really don’t know h-h-how to say this without s-sounding weird, but I sort, kind of have feelings toward you?” It comes out sounding more like a question than a statement.

Vic scoffs and I stare at him. Is he seriously making fun of me for liking him? That bastard!

“No, I’m not making fun of you for liking me, Hime.” Oops. Must have said my thoughts out loud. “I’m just saying, it’s kind of obvious you do.” He smiles at me. “And it’s okay, because I like you too. And I seriously wish that Mike wasn’t present for the filming of that video, because otherwise, I wouldn’t have stopped our kiss.” He stands up un comes toward me, walking forward until my back is against the wall. His eyes flick down to my lips, and then back at my eyes, and he leans in to press his lips to mine. It’s soft at first, but becomes more passionate in a matter of seconds…

—–End Flashback—–

“Okay Dad! Thanks, that’s all I need to hear about that!” Cara yells and gets up off the couch and walks over to her room.

“Your kids will be doing the same thing when you tell them how you and your husband met!” I yelled back to her and laughed. She’d need to get used to it sooner or later.

Just as I finished my sentence, Vic walks into the house, returning from grocery shopping and carrying two rather heavy bags inside.

“What are you two fighting about now?” Vic laughs and sets the bags down in the kitchen before walking back into the living room.

I smile at him. “I was just telling her the story of how we got together. That stupid Christmas video for the label. And the almost-kiss every Fuenciado-shipper obsessed over for ages.”

Vic walks over to me and I wrap my arms around his slim form. “Ah.” He sighs, “I remember that night very well. Such passion from a spastic man.” He pokes my nose.

“I love you, babe.” I kiss his forehead.

“I love you too, Jaime.” He kisses my lips softly.

As we pull away you can hear Cara groaning in her room. “God! Can you guys not make out when I’m in the same general area? Jeez!”

“Hi to you too Cara!” Vic smiles at me but projects the words to our daughter. He then leans in and whispers seductively in my ear, “Maybe we send her out tonight to a friend’s house and have some fun?”

I groan softly and yell to Cara, “Cara, pack your bags! You’re going to Emily’s!”

#36: You’ve Got Mail (1998)

IMDB plot summary: Two business rivals hate each other at the office but fall in love over the internet.

Is this an accurate plot summary? “At the office” is not even close to an accurate description for the characters’ jobs, but other than that, sure.

And with this week, we complete the trinity of perfect Nora Ephron romcoms. Yes, she has other films, and yes, we should watch them all, but Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry Met Sally, and You’ve Got Mail are the gold standard of romantic comedies. They set a high bar that, frankly, very few of the 30-something other romantic comedies I’ve watched this year can meet. And why is that? Well, we’ll get to it later. But for now, let’s recap the plot of this completely charming, completely 90s film.

As the IMDB plot summary states, Joe Fox (Tom Hanks) and Kathleen Kelly (Meg Ryan) are business rivals. Kathleen owns an impossibly lovely children’s bookstore that was originally her late mother’s. Joe Fox owns Fox Books, a Barnes and Noble-like behemoth chain that opens up right across the street from Kathleen’s shop, which is called…The Shop Around the Corner.

Yes, that’s right! As you may remember from waaaay back in week three of this project (Oh, were we ever so young? We hadn’t even suffered through Something Borrowed yet!), You’ve Got Mail is heavily inspired by the James Stewart film The Shop Around the Corner. But this time, the characters don’t exchange something so old-fashioned as letters. No, they’re living out the future by sending emails and instant messages and giving you weird flashbacks by playing those instantly recognizable AOL noises!

So anyway, Joe and Kathleen are internet penpals who hate each other IRL. Kathleen lives in the biggest, most beautiful apartment in the world and is dating a bespectacled Greg Kinnear. Joe’s dating Parker Posey and his dad is Rich Businessman Dabney Coleman. On paper, they’re terrible for each other. But on AOL instant messager, they’re talking about movies and flirting up a storm. Things are going swimmingly until they decide to meet, at which point they recreate, almost exactly, a scene from The Shop Around the Corner, right down to the coworker/Dave Chappelle saying, “Well, if you don’t like Kathleen Kelly, then I can guarantee you won’t like this girl…because she is Kathleen Kelly.”

Some amicable breakups happen (seriously, has there ever been a more pleasant breakup than the one between Kathleen and Greg Kinnear?). Kathleen’s bookstore closes. Joe has an existential crisis in an elevator. Eventually he realizes he has to get Kathleen to love him and, going against romcom tradition, he executes a series of small gestures (buying her stuff at the farmer’s market! Visiting her when she’s sick! Taking her to lunch!) instead of a grand gesture. And you know what? It works. Because by the end of this movie, if you’re not physically aching for Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan to kiss in a park with a golden retriever by their sides, then you might actually be missing a heart.

Because here’s the thing about You’ve Got Mail, and about all of the films in the Ephron/Ryan trio: it’s good. Like, really good. Like, significantly better than other romantic comedies. And, if I could basically repeat what I said in my posts on Sleepless in Seattle and When Harry Met Sally, that’s because Nora Ephron understood sadness. She understood heartbreak, defeat, and despair. And in You’ve Got Mail, perhaps even more than in Sleepless in Seattle, she showed that even when good things happen to us, life is just sad. Sometimes it really effing sucks. I mean, Meg Ryan loses her store, the one that belonged to her late mother. She misses her mother, viciously, throughout the entire film. And when she loses her store, it’s clearly a huge emotional blow for her. That scene where she sits in the children’s department at Fox Books and tearfully helps a woman find the “shoe books” is wrenching. It’s easy to just remember the bouquet of sharpened pencils and “don’t you just love New York in the Fall” and forget about the thread of sadness that runs through the whole movie, but it’s there, tying everything together.

Kathleen’s sadness is so pervasive that the ending feels more than just earned; it feels like a giant victory. Because throughout all the crappy things that happen, Kathleen doesn’t give up. She has hope that things will get better, that she’ll be able to start over. That’s why I started crying during that first montage set to the Cranberries’ Dreams (the most hopeful song in the world) and kept going through the scene where she decorates the shop window for Christmas and continued when she talks about her life being small and finally ended up openly sobbing at “I wanted it to be you so badly.” I’m tearing up just typing those words.

Nora Ephron understood, perhaps more than any other romcom writer, that love doesn’t fix everything. It can’t bring back wives or mothers, or resurrect failing businesses, or turn you into a different person. But what it can do is make it all worth it, despite all the pain and the heartbreak and the loneliness. What made Nora Ephron so, so special was that she never sugarcoated things. I’ve enjoyed plenty of romantic comedies this year that don’t come anywhere close to grappling with real sadness, and that’s fine. But Nora Ephron was never afraid to explore the darkness and show us why the light matters so much. She was never afraid to show us that hope can keep us afloat in a life that sometimes seems so much more than we can bear.

Stray Thoughts:

-So last week, after watching The Giant Mechanical Man, I said that Chris Messina should be in every romantic comedy. And then, lo and behold, I remembered that he has a bit part in You’ve Got Mail. My Chris Messina prayers were answered and I’m grateful.

-But Chris Messina is far from the only star in the supporting cast! Steve Zahn, Jean Stapleton, Parker Posey, Dave Chappelle, and the aforementioned Rich Businessman Dabney Coleman all show up.

-Everything about this movie is cozy. The cast wears almost exclusively giant, beige clothing and Kathleen’s apartment is fantastically light-filled and beautiful. You get the beauty of New York in the Fall, of course, but you also get New York at Christmas and New York in the Spring, and guess what? None of those involve anything remotely dirty or dark. It’s just well-lit interiors and flower-filled parks.

Romantic comedy cliches: Penpals, opposites attract, a guy with a dog, a houseboat (why is this a cliche, even? I have no idea), wacky coworkers, a wise old person who gives advice

Is this a good movie? This is the best movie.

Did I like this movie? It might be my favorite romantic comedy.

Did this movie make me believe in love? What do you think? It made me sob no fewer than five times.

Would I watch this movie again? I should just watch this movie on a weekly basis. I hate other movies for not being this movie.

If you have any suggestions for my year of romcoms (or if you just want to try to figure out who today’s Tom Hanks is), send me an email at welcometoladyville@gmail.com or find me on Twitter @KerryAnn

Just One Last Time

Eliot is immortal. The leverage team was not. Future-fic. Angst, character death flashback, Damien Moreau, mostly an Eliot character study I guess. (Highlander fusion)

Eliot felt the presence of another immortal well before the shadow stepped into place beside his own, darkening the otherwise bright green grass at his feet. He squinted against the bright sunlight but didn’t bother to look or otherwise react. He already knew who it was.

A voice he’d known for centuries broke the silence. “How many times must you do this to yourself before you learn? Mortals…they always die in the end.”

Damien Moreau always managed to show up at the worst possible times in Eliot’s life, and today apparently wasn’t gonna be the exception.

Imagine: you’re Sam and Dean’s younger sister who has been missing for three years. And when they find you, they don’t realize the trouble that you’ve been in.

Dark clouds, whistling wind, rush of cars, pitter-patter of scattered rain drops. You stand in a graveyard with your hands tucked into the pockets of your skin tight jeans. The wind blows your curled hair in all directions. You try and focus on the main reason why you’re here: meeting with Crowley. But tonight is an anniversary for you. A night that means absolutely nothing yet everything to you.

Remember the night that John Winchester sold his soul so that Dean could keeping living a god-awful life? Well guess what? his soul wasn’t the only thing that had to be traded. 18 years old, a naive teenager, traded by her own father for the resurrection of her brother.  Her father, the man that was supposed to protect her, not give her up, crushed any kind of happiness from that day forward. That girl is you.

Arrow Ships and Toxicity: Olicity, Lauriver, Merlance & Canarrow

I was recently messaged about my opinion on Olicity being toxic (and Felicity being a bad person, which I think was answered in this post). My answer got way too long for the messenger and I decided to just post it on the blog as—what else?—a meta. Here is a really crappy screen cap I made of the convo–I scratched out the person’s ID because they had messaged me because of the privacy and I wanted to respect that:

Oh boy. Okay, granted there was a language barrier between the person and myself but I think I understand what they were trying to ask. The person has yet to finish season 3 of Arrow (but I have no idea if they have caught episodes of season 4). They like Olicity’s chemistry but have recently read some anti-Olicity stuff that semi-convincingly painted Olicity as toxic but this person apparently doesn’t think Laurel and Oliver together is toxic and they have no opinion on Oliver and Sara. The person seemed sincere after I talked about their motive for asking a pro-Olicity blog such a question so I’m going to assume they are not a secret Lauriver fan or comic diehard looking to get into an argument with me (I’ve heard stories). Now I’m going to be honest and admit that I am 100% opposed to Lauriver as a couple—and it has nothing to do with my burning belief that Oliver and Felicity are soulmates. It is because I believe them to be very toxic together.

In my meta/reviews of the show, I protect Oliver and Felicity, but I think I also talk about them fairly. I know neither is perfect. And I have made a point of separating Oliver from Ollie—that annoying man-boy who had some serious growing up to do pre-Island. Laurel’s history with Oliver belongs to Ollie. And Ollie didn’t deserve Laurel Lance. She deserved better than she got. She should never have stayed in that relationship but they were both young and she needed to learn. Unfortunately it was the hard way. But the fact of the matter is that Ollie Queen was a dickhead: a playboy with an overwhelming sense of entitlement.

But Laurel certainly didn’t enter into her relationship with Ollie on the best of terms either. It was made clear in season 2 Flashbacks that Laurel knew Sara liked Ollie first but she wanted him for herself so she sabotaged Sara’s chance of being with Ollie. Then she swooped in and nabbed him for herself. That’s a really crappy thing to do; hardly classy or sisterly. But Laurel is not a perfect person and doing this certainly didn’t justify what Sara and Ollie did to her. Two wrongs don’t make a right here.

But before there was Sara, there was a litany of other women that Ollie cheated on Laurel with. The history of Lauriver on Arrow is pretty murky—it’s hard to tell when they were together and not together. It sounds as though they were very off and on—and that’s not the sign of a couple destined to be together. Now before it’s mentioned that Olicity has recently broken up and will get back together and thus they aren’t destined to be together: Let me stop you. Do you see Oliver out chasing skirts because he is not with Felicity? The point is that once Oliver finally stopped lying to himself about being in love with Felicity he simply stopped seeing other women—they just don’t exist for him. From at least 3x01, there has only ever been Felicity Smoak for Oliver Queen and that’s all there ever will be.

However Ollie, regardless of whether he and Laurel were broken up or not, always saw other women. And ahem he did more than look. William Clayton wasn’t conceived immaculately if you catch my drift. I’m fairly certain he wasn’t hanging out with all those models and sorority girls to get their opinions on foreign policy either. Let’s not forget that time he became wedding guest of the year when he slept with the bride-to-be the night before her wedding—at the rehearsal dinner. All of this while Laurel was supposedly the one true love of his heart and soul.

Lemme let you in on a secret: Do not ever settle for this kind of behavior from your boyfriend or girlfriend. I shake my head when I think of all the crap Laurel stuck around for because she should have known she deserved better. She grew up in a normal, loving home (her parent’s marriage didn’t disintegrate until after Sara died) and saw firsthand what a loving, healthy relationship looked like. But I think Laurel believed she could change Ollie if she loved him long enough, hard enough, was patient and forgiving enough until he realized what he had with her.

Now you could argue that Ollie did realize that—once he was stranded on Lian Yu and holding Laurel’s picture and staring at it. However, I truly believe what he was feeling wasn’t love but regret because his actions hurt her and seemingly led Sara to her death (though Sara was as culpable for that as he was). But even if it was true and he did pine over her photo on Lian Yu, it didn’t stop him from being with other women during his five years away.

Remember when I said that Oliver has resigned himself to a life of solitude if he can’t be with Felicity—he even thought about joining the LOA simply because he learned that Felicity and Ray were dating?! While Ollie waited to find a way home to his girlfriend that he suddenly realized that he loved so very much, he still managed to hook up with Shado and Sara on the island. Theoretically there is supposed to be something romantic between him and whatshername (I think it’s Taiana or Tatiana?) at some point but I’m not seeing it (thank God).

The point to this is that no matter wherever he is, even if they are together or not, separated by an ocean or another temporary break, Ollie always finds someone else to be with who is not Laurel.

I hate to be a downer, but I really can’t keep my opinions to myself right now. I haven’t commented on Glee in forever, I haven’t even watched Glee since The Quarterback. I was going to come home and possibly watch the series finale for the Finn mentions and closure to a show I was obsessed with and adored for a big part of my life. A show that saved me from depression and gave me hope. A show that introduced me to my hero who has inspired me in so many ways and led me to live a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life, who I forever miss.

I think it’s safe to say that throughout Glee, no fandom has had it as bad as us Finn and Finchel fans. When Cory and Finn/Finchel were alive, not only did the writers put us through hell with crappy writing and keeping Finchel apart like the majority of the time for show purposes, but the fandom gave us Finn and Finchel fans hell. We got the most hate. You could say for some time we were the most pandered to, but that faded. You could say that we got to see our OTP date in real life, so for that we should be forever grateful, but I feel like none of that matters anymore, not when Cory is gone, not when Finn is gone. Overall, I think us Finn/Finchel fans have had to deal with the hardest ache with Glee and the deepest heartbreak. Not to say other Glee fans didn’t love Cory, but we were his stans. We were the ones who made arts on him all the time, stalked his life every day via fansites and forums, we replayed Finn Hudson/Finchel scenes and songs till we memorized them, we adored Finn and we adored Cory, and a lot of us adored Finchel as well.

Why do I mention all this? Because I feel like us Finn and Finchel fans have had it bad enough, and the finale didn’t even give us anything to ease our pain. I’ve seen some gifs with Finn mentions here and there, and flashbacks here and there. I know that Glee doesn’t revolve around Finn and we already had several tributes to him. I get that Rachel has moved on and they need to show us that. That you can move on even when your life gets rocked, you can move on from your first love, you can still have a happy life. I think that’s a great message to send, but I don’t know why they have to ignore the fact that Finchel even existed to send the message. I mean Brad promised us a scene in Season 6 with the Finn star, and we never got that. Maybe they figured all us Finchel/Finn fans stopped watching, so pandering to us would be pointless. But it would have MEANT a whole great deal. I just felt like we already went through so much heartache and sadness. We went from having everything to losing it all. We suffered the worst kind of pain a fandom can suffer. I don’t understand why they couldn’t give us anything. Even a “Finn” name mention during her Tony acceptance speech. Even a looking up at the sky. Something. Fictionally speaking, I mean it’s bad enough that we get a ship we hated end up being endgame and a man who Finn hated end up being Rachel’s husband. It’s even worse that our favourite character’s ending is that he’s dead. That’s just fictionally speaking. I won’t even get started on how much the real life aspect of it sucks hell of a lot more. But all in all, I don’t get it. I don’t get why we couldn’t have been given a subtle little thing. Not asking for much. Just a little after all we’ve been through. After all, wasn’t Finchel the core ship of the Glee? Regardless of Finn’s death, his character is proudly alive through mentions, flashbacks, and everything, and don’t get me wrong, I love that, but why not Finchel? I really don’t get it, maybe someone can explain to me why Glee took this direction and made this choice to leave them out of the series finale and Season 6 in general. The original spoilers said she did thank Finn in her speech so maybe they cut it for a reason. I don’t know.

Overall, I’m sad. I knew this series finale would be unfulfilling because it’s not the ENDING that it should be, because Cory’s not here, because I don’t even care about Glee anymore. I love the Finn mentions and Auditorium tribute, but I just think the ending was still such a disservice to us Finchel fans. Forget even pandering, it doesn’t make sense how Rachel, the character, didn’t thank Finn. After all, Finn was the one who pushed her to New York. Finn was the one who gave her a boost speech before her nationals performance. Finn encouraged and supported Rachel just as much as Will did in high school, if not more. She has a tattoo of his name but couldn’t thank him? I don’t get it. I think it was a huge slap in the face to us Finchel fans, maybe even purposely, and I think that’s rude because we’ve already been through enough :(
